“Prologue: From the Start” (cws: mention of drinking - wc: 1.0k, fluff/platonic, gn reader)
Yingxing stepped into the Xianzhou off of the merchant vessel he somehow got on, looking up to the artificial blue sky as his navy hair blew in the wind. He had come here on a whim after his home planet was destroyed by the borisin.
He was a short-life species, an outlier among the long-life species that reside in the Xianzhou, but he didn't care.
Yingxing started to explore the Xianzhou to get a feel for what might be his new home when he was bumped into, stumbling backwards a bit. Yingxing blinked some, his dull, light blue eyes landing on the person who stumbled and fell to the ground.
“I’m so sorry!” they exclam, picking up the paper they dropped. They seemed young, young for a Xianzhou native at least, that being maybe about 50, a young teenager.
“It’s no issue,” Yingxing replies, helping them up. Once they look up, their eyes widen.
“You- you're the short life species coming to live here that everyone's talking about!” They say excitedly. Yingxing quirks an eyebrow.
“Yes.. that's me, what about it?”
“Oh! Wait, what's your name? Mine’s [name]!” Yingxing is puzzled by [name]’s excitement. He's got odd looks from the other natives, so why does this one show interest in him?
“I'm Yingxing, but why-” he was cut off by [name] and their excited rambling.
“Yingxing! What a cool name.. Ooo! You look like you'd like the art of craftsmanship!!” Yingxing blinked, trying to wrap his head around the natives’ words.
“Craftsmanship.. like weapon making?” he inquires. [name] gives an enthusiastic nod. Yingxing crossed his arms, glancing down at the Xianzhous ground. “Show me then, [name],” he looks back up and smiles, his navy hair blowing in the wind with the natives'. “ ‘m interested.”
Tumblr media
After showing Yingxing to the Artisanship Commission, he joined as an apprentice under the guidance of Master Huaiyan. He had vowed to avenge his home and family by making weapons for the Cloud Knights. He quickly became well known for his astounding craftsmanship.
Later on, Yingxing met Baiheng when she was sent to a delegation to request reinforcements from the ship for Yaoqings Crane Feather Orbit Fleet. They were fighting the borisin, and in present time, Yingxing was helping Baiheng with receiving the delegation and taking them to his master — Huaiyan — at Flamedisk Forge Palace.
“Soo~” Baiheng cooed cheerily, walking beside Yingxing as they made their way on the Zhuming. “What got you interested in the Artisanship Commission? You're a short-life species, so I'm curious,” the foxian asks. Yingxing sighs.
“A kid named [name]. They disappeared after I joined,” he replied, looking over to Baiheng.
“Oh! I know [name]! Almost all of the Zhuming people do, they're an aspiring writer and a good people analyzer,” Baiheng says. “Seems they were pretty accurate with you, little Yingxing, no?” she smiles, finishing her sentence, fox ears twitching.
“I suppose, though I believe I would've found the Artisanship Commission on my own,” Yingxing replies with a sigh as they finally make it to their destination.
“Baiheng!” someone called out. The two turn around and see [name], who halts their movements and smiles. “And Yingxing too! How's it been for you in the Commission?” they inquire, smiling. Yingxing shrugs.
“It’s been pretty fun, I suppose,” he replies. [name] nods politely at him, their smile growing, and they then turn their attention to Baiheng. Yingxing watches on as he crosses his arms with a faint smile. He liked these two, maybe more so than he knows for now.
Tumblr media
Yingxing remained on the Xianzhou for some years, Baiheng and [name] sticking with him. They were a little trio, and later on, the Sword Master of the Luofu — Jingliu — had befriended the three and introduced them to her apprentice — Jing Yuan.
They hung out as a friend group for about a year more, and in that time, they had managed to befriend the Vidyadhara High Elder, Dan Feng, and had made a name for themselves after a while. The High Cloud Quintet.
Bellowing laughter rang out through Scalegorge Waterscape as the clink of small shot glasses came together. Yingxing, Dan Feng and [name] we're having some drinks together, though Dan Feng was more stoic as he took his shot with his friends.
The others were chatting on their own, Jingliu and Baiheng having their own shots together. The entire Quintet was close, but Yingxing, Dan Feng and [name] were especially close, so much so they had matching jewelry.
Yingxing has the long, red earring on his left ear, Dan Fengs in his right ear, and [name]s on a necklace. The three often drank and sparred together with themselves and the others, much like now.
“Guys!!” [name] calls out to the others, setting down their small shot glass and running over to the other three as they turn around. The foxians ears swiveled to the nosie as she turned around.
“What is it, [name]?” Baiheng asks. Yingxing and Dan Feng walk up behind their friend as they explain their ideas they commonly do.
“We need to spar after we all take a shot together. I need to test out this new weapon Yingxing made me!” they exclam, pulling out said weapon. Yingxing crossed his arms with Dan Feng, a smile falling upon his lips. He was proud of his work, and if [name]. After learning how to fight, he made them a weapon specifically catered towards their fighting style, and they've come a long way since he's helped them learn to fight.
Jingliu smiles, looking at all her friends, her red eyes landing back on [name]. “Of course, get the drinks ready?” she says as she holds out her cup. [name] nods, beaming, and goes back to get their cup and the drink.
The group laughs at their antics, Jing Yuan standing beside Jingliu as [name] returns.
With their cups now filled, they hold up their drinks in the air with a clink! and gulp down their shots, getting ready to spar one another soon after with smiles on their lips.
Oh the horrors that were to come for them, fall upon them and crush their friendships.

lesbian AU for The Charioteer with a love triangle between Laurie, a volunteer nurse injured at Dunkirk, Ralph, a cross-dressing naval officer, and Nurse Adrian, a religious (vicar’s daughter!) nurse at the EMS hospital
Nurse Adrian is incredibly impressed by Laurie going to Oxford (even though she wasn’t much of an academic and was on her way to getting a Third when war broke out) and thinks it is so cool that Laurie experienced the war, even though Adrian herself is a pacifist. She’s gone about her life having “bosom friends”, girls she’d have over and cuddle with, kiss, and write love letters to. It’s perfectly normal for young girls”, her mother, grandmother and aunt told her, but she’ll “grow out of it” as she gets older and discovers men, they assure her. But in the meantime, Adrian is glad that Laurie has become her new “bosom friend”, and Laurie doesn’t want to destroy her innocence —“it would ruin her female friendships forever”. She will never be able to innocently cuddle in the same bed with her girls, lay her head across a friend’s chest, playfully pinch and tickle them, and take their arms as they stroll down the street, as affectionate girl-friends do. There will always be a fear of being found out, of being cast out as a pervert. It’ll make her feel like a predator in changing rooms, Laurie thinks, a secret breach of the easy trust women have with each other as they change in and out of swimsuits in the same room. Laurie is a swimmer, she knows.
Laurie realized who and what in she was in fifth form, when they tried to send Ralphela who goes by Ralph, who was the head of their house, to an insane asylum after the Hazel affair. This wasn’t just some light petting —that was frowned upon but did not damage a girl’s innocence. No, Ralph had done something to Hazel that only her future husband should have the right to do. It breached her innocence. Laurie didn’t believe Ralph was insane, and started a campaign to save her, but Ralph summoned her to her study and put an end to all that. There, they shared a kiss, and Ralph gave her Sappho’s poems, assuring her that this love isn’t insanity. It was real, beautiful, poetic.
After meeting Adrian, Laurie decided that she could be happy writing beautiful poetry to an innocent young woman, like Sappho, but never corrupt such love with the desires of the flesh. She would not associate herself with the banner waving feminists, the underground queer parties where everyone’s girlfriend is their ex-girlfriend’s ex-girlfriend, where women wallow in self pity about their lot as women who love women. Instead, Laurie’s love would remain a pure poetic love expressed through the gentle guidance of her beloved and a chaste affection, as Sappho had done for the girls under her mentorship.
But then, she meets Ralph at Sandy’s party and everything changes. Ralph had escaped from school before they could finalize her transfer to the asylum. She’d gone first to Southhampton, dressed as a boy, worked her passage to Berlin, where she —through means she was willing to explain despite Laurie’s prying —raised enough funds to get a hysterectomy. After that, she returned to Britain and joined the merchant navy, convincingly cross-dressed as a man and freed from inconvenient feminine bodily functions that would have given her disguise away.
She’s been around, did two years of men, went back to women, tried to settle down with Alexandria (Alec), then moved on to Bunny. She was injured at Dunkirk and received a “relocation” to naval intelligence to be a secretary after the people in the hospital discovered she was a woman. She’s currently attending class to be retrained as a secretary. Those are the only open positions for women in that department. She had been captain of her ship. But now they’ll never give her a ship again, because she has only 2 and 1/2 fingers and because she isn’t a man. Seven years of effort, a hard-earned career, gone in a flash. She could see no future.
But when Laurie came back from Dunkirk, alive and ever adoring, Ralph began to see glimmers of a future life. They’ll get a flat together using her stipend and Laurie’s inheritance. If she’d had her officer’s salary she could have supported them both, but not on a woman secretary’s salary. They’ll rent the other room while Laurie is away and she’ll give her best shot at being a secretary. She’ll try to join the WREN and become a “lady officer” at the first opportunity. They’ll be separated again once Laurie graduates Oxford and relocates to a new job, but they’ll make it work. The Americans even have a phrase for two single women making a home together, they call it a Boston marriage.

"This hologram is intended for my commanding officer, Commodore Fordo.
Sir, I hope this message finds you well in these tumultuous times.
As you are no doubt aware — our defeat at the Battle at Jakku has left us in a state of perpetual uncertainty. Despite the concerted efforts to recuperate our losses, it has become increasingly clear to me that it is unlikely that the Empire will continue to persist beyond the immediate future.
The formation of the New Republic and its amnesty program has provided an opportunity for many former Imperials to seek refuge and start anew. While the amnesty program does present tantalisingly promising opportunity for reintegration, a dispassionate evaluation has revealed several underlying risks that cannot be ignored. Ex-Imperials still bear a heavy stigma. Given the unsavoury nature of some the research I have led and been involved in, the possibility of facing retribution or being targeted by extremist factions is just too great.
My priority must be my personal safety and security.
My intention, then, is to establish a private clinic within the Mid-Rim territories, utilizing my extensive medical and scientific expertise to cater to the galactic populace in need. Prior to her death, my mother always thought I was a physician in the merchant navy. Perhaps this is my chance to finally do right by her.
This venture would afford me the ability to contribute to the well-being of others while preserving a discreet and inconspicuous profile. By evading the perils inherent to the ongoing conflicts that continue to ravage the galaxy, I can focus on providing compassionate care and scientific advancements within the field of medicine.
In closing, I wish to express my utmost appreciation for the guidance and unwavering support you have bestowed upon me. You have been a pillar of strength and wisdom in my life, and a mentor without compare. I am forever indebted to you. It has been an honour to serve with you, and I will remember our friendship fondly throughout the years to come.
Should you ever require assistance with your inoperable implants or cybernetics or find yourself facing any indications of clonal cellular degradation, I implore you to contact me without hesitation. I would be honoured to lend my expertise and ensure your well-being.
Our bond as both comrades and friends will always extend beyond our time in the military, and I will always be here for you.
Doctor Jaina Dallows, signing off."

Importance of Sponsorship in the Merchant Navy
Tumblr media
Merchant navy, the lifeblood of global trade, relies on a skilled and dedicated workforce to transport essential goods across oceans. To ensure a steady supply of qualified seafarers, sponsorship has emerged as a cornerstone of the maritime industry. This blog delves deep into the significance of sponsorship, its benefits for both aspiring candidates and fresher seafarers, the role of colleges in the sponsorship process, and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
The Importance of Sponsorship
● Financial Accessibility: Maritime education can be financially demanding. Sponsorship removes this barrier, opening doors to a world of opportunities for young individuals with a passion for the sea.
● Guaranteed Employment: The assurance of a job upon compilation of Pre-Sea Training.
● Comprehensive Training: Sponsorships often include a structured training program, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects of maritime life.
● Career Progression: A clear career path is often outlined, providing cadets with a roadmap for their professional growth within the company.
● Global Exposure: The Merchant Navy course in surat offers unparalleled opportunities to travel and experience different cultures, broadening horizons and personal development.
● Talent Acquisition: For shipping companies, sponsorship is a strategic investment in human capital. It ensures a steady supply of qualified seafarers aligned with the company’s values and standards.
● Cost-Effective Recruitment: Investing in training future employees can be more cost-effective than hiring experienced seafarers.
● Employee Loyalty: Sponsored officers tend to have a stronger sense of loyalty to the company that invested in their careers.
● Corporate Social Responsibility: Supporting young talent aligns with many companies’ CSR initiatives, enhancing their reputation.
● Competitive Advantage: A strong sponsorship program can attract top talent and differentiate a company in the competitive maritime industry.
The Sponsorship Process
The sponsorship process typically involves several key stages:
Recruitment and Selection: Shipping companies identify potential candidates through various channels, including maritime academies and career fairs. A rigorous selection process evaluates academic qualifications, aptitude, and personal suitability.
Contractual Agreement: Once selected, cadets sign a contract outlining the terms and conditions of the sponsorship, including the duration of the bond and the responsibilities of both parties.
Pre-Sea Training: This phase involves theoretical studies at a maritime academy, covering subjects such as navigation, marine engineering, and maritime law.
Sea Time: Cadets embark on ships to gain practical experience under the guidance of experienced officers, progressing through different ranks as they acquire skills and qualifications.
Career Development: The sponsorship program often includes opportunities for further training and development, such as specialised courses or leadership programs.
The Role of Colleges in Sponsorship
Colleges play a pivotal role in the sponsorship process by providing the initial training and education for aspiring seafarers. They work closely with shipping companies to develop curriculum aligned with industry needs and prepare students for the challenges of maritime life.
Key roles of colleges in sponsorship:
● Talent Identification: Colleges identify potential candidates with the aptitude and interest for a maritime career.
● Academic Preparation: They provide a strong foundation in subjects such as mathematics, physics, and English, essential for maritime studies.
● Industry Partnerships: Colleges collaborate with shipping companies to develop internship and placement opportunities for students.
● Career Guidance: They offer career counselling to help students make informed decisions about their future in the merchant navy.
Challenges and Opportunities in Sponsorship
While sponsorship is a mutually beneficial arrangement, it is not without its challenges. Economic fluctuations in the shipping industry, regulatory changes, and the competitive nature of the talent market can impact sponsorship programs.
However, these challenges also present opportunities for innovation. Shipping companies can explore new partnerships with maritime academies, leverage technology for training and development, and focus on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for sponsored cadets.
The Role of Technology in Sponsorship
Technology is transforming the maritime industry, and sponsorship programs are no exception. Digital platforms can be used for recruitment, training, performance management, and communication. Virtual reality and augmented reality can enhance training experiences, making them more engaging and effective.
The Future of Sponsorship in the Merchant Navy
The future of sponsorship in the merchant navy is bright. As the industry faces challenges such as decarbonization, automation, and the increasing complexity of maritime operations, the need for highly skilled seafarers will only grow. Sponsorship programs can play a crucial role in developing the talent required to navigate these challenges.
To ensure the long-term success of sponsorship programs, shipping companies and colleges must collaborate to create a robust and sustainable ecosystem. This includes investing in research and development, staying updated with industry trends, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The Importance of Mentorship and Support
Beyond financial support, sponsorship should encompass mentorship and guidance. Experienced seafarers can act as mentors to sponsored cadets, providing valuable insights into the industry and career development. Additionally, providing access to mental health support and well-being resources is crucial for the overall success of sponsored seafarers.

Conclusion
Sponsorship is a cornerstone of the merchant navy, providing a pathway for aspiring seafarers to build successful careers while ensuring a steady supply of skilled talent for shipping companies. By addressing the challenges and embracing the opportunities presented by the evolving maritime landscape, sponsorship programs can continue to be a driving force in the industry’s growth and development.

Justice Department indicts Iranian, Pakistani nationals linked to Navy SEAL deaths in Arabian Sea

Justice Department indicts Iranian, Pakistani nationals linked to Navy SEAL deaths in Arabian Sea
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Justice Department announced an indictment Thursday against two Iranian brothers and a Pakistani national linked to a U.S. military operation off the coast of Somalia in January that resulted in the deaths of two Navy SEALs. Shahab and Yunus Mir’kazei — who federal prosecutors say work for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – and Muhammad Pahlawan are each charged with conspiring to provide and providing material support to Iran’s weapons of mass destruction program resulting in death and conspiring to commit violence against maritime navigation and maritime transport involving weapons of mass destruction resulting in death. Pahlawan is currently in custody and awaiting trial while the Iranians are at large. If convicted on the federal charges, all three men face a maximum penalty of life in prison. The Justice Department says Pahlawan “allegedly worked for the Mir’kazei brothers as the captain of a smuggling vessel known as a dhow, named the ‘Yunus,’ which is owned by Shahab.” US NAVY SEAL FELL INTO ARABIAN SEA AND ANOTHER DIED TRYING TO SAVE HIM, OFFICIALS CONFIRM “On the night of Jan. 11, U.S. Central Command Navy forces operating from the USS LEWIS B. PULLER, including Navy SEALs and members of the U.S. Coast Guard, boarded the dhow off the coast of Somalia,” it continued. “Two Navy SEALs lost their lives during the interdiction.” “As alleged, the U.S. boarding team encountered 14 individual mariners on the vessel, including Pahlawan. During a search of the dhow, the U.S. boarding team allegedly located and seized what is believed to be Iranian-made advanced conventional weaponry,” the Justice Department added. “Preliminary analysis of the advanced conventional weaponry indicates that it includes critical components for medium range ballistic missiles and anti-ship cruise missiles, including to include a warhead and propulsion and guidance components.  “The type of weaponry found aboard the dhow is allegedly consistent with the weaponry used by the Houthi rebel forces in recent attacks on merchant ships and U.S. military ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden,” the Justice Department also said. Federal prosecutors say Pahlawan is facing additional charges of “providing materially false information to U.S. Coast Guard officers during the boarding of the dhow regarding the vessel’s captain and witness intimidation for threatening one of the crewmembers on the dhow.   4 CHARGED AFTER SEIZURE OF SUSPECTED IRANIAN-MADE WEAPONS IN VESSEL THAT LEAD TO DEATHS OF 2 NAVY SEALS They added that Pahlawan “allegedly worked with Shahab to prepare the dhow for multiple smuggling voyages, and Shahab paid Pahlawan in Iranian Rials from a bank account in Shahab’s name.  “Pahlawan allegedly arranged to receive payments from Shahab and Yunus in Iran and distribute the money to his family and others,” according to the Justice Department. The Navy in January identified the two SEALs who were declared dead as Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher J. Chambers and Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram, days after they went missing. “We extend our condolences to Chris and Gage’s families, friends, and teammates during this incredibly challenging time. They were exceptional warriors, cherished teammates, and dear friends to many within the Naval Special Warfare community,” Capt. Blake L. Chaney, commander of Naval Special Warfare Group 1 said at the time. The announcement of the indictment comes as U.S. Central Command released images Thursday of Air Force F-22 Raptors arriving in the Middle East” as part of U.S. force posture changes in the region and to address threats posed by Iran and Iranian-backed groups.” Fox News’ Louis Casiano contributed to this report.

The Adventures of David Dashiki-Tales of an African American Hero- 2024-Year of the Black
Tumblr media
I have traveled almost half of Europe and I asked myself, " Where is the Black man's government? Where is his king and kingdom? Where is his president, his country and his ambassadors, his army, his navy, his men of Big Affairs. I could not find them and then, I decided I will help to make them."- Marcus Garvey -Selected Writings and Speeches
This is the reason I love and honor Marcus Garvey. He spoke the truth about our existence on a global level. We are expected to live a life of less. Even in matters of country and state, we are not considered equal to any other people. Therefore, we must read and gain knowledge about other Black Nations and how we might find models from which to experiment in search for wholeness and equality. Our plan and guidance in this soul searching project are as follows and I , Daddy Dashiki, review; Step 1 is that we read and acquaint ourselves with the stories and history of our people. Secondly, we stand firm and strong that reading, self-education is the best step for us at this time. Step 3 is that we debunk all the myths about our people and commit ourselves to liberating our brethren from these negative portrayals and beliefs. We have already seriously and assiduously engaged in several bouts of MYTH mutilation, massacre, deep cleansing of the record and correction about the real US . Previously held myths will be destroyed by all of us as we are equipped to destroy them based on current knowledge. Myths will not survive another day...not an ember. We are men of the highest intellect and character. Lonnie Johnson, Garrett Morgan, Fredrick McKinley, Alexander Miles, Lewis Lattimer, Mark Dean, George Washington Carver, Granville Morgan, Percy Julian, Otis Boykin, George Carruthers, Michael Crosling, Any Questions? We did slavery. We were forced into sharecropping. We do neither anymore. Our children will never again savor that bitter, sour and acrid taste of the cruelties of such an occupation. For this reason, we read. We organize. We plan. We build enterprises. We support merchants who support and believe in us. These are the reasons we read. To take a fresh breath. we read. We must be forward thinkers. We are obligated to stay current as our children live in an on-time situation. If we don't know, we read. If we are afraid to ask, be embarrassed any way. Our children are more important than our thin skin.
The Year of the Black man, 2024, we have chosen as a year of work, labor, effort and exertion. To use the vernacular, this is the year we will truly HUSTLE in our quest for knowledge, freedom, equality and peace. It's time we got our act together. We can no longer live in apathy. It will not work for us will eradicate those failures and weaknesses that have been destroying our unity and effectiveness as Black men in America.
First, we have to be involved in the education of our children in this country. We cannot call ourselves concerned, participating or even interested parents if we have not visited the schools to inquire about the academic progress of our progeny. If we don't check homework on a regular basis, read to our children, converse with them about subject matter and current events, do not have any idea of their teachers' names or the classes they are presently in, talk with the instructors other than on Open School Week or set an attitude and expectation about behavior and respect for their teachers. These goals and objectives we must set as a basic standards of behavior and conduct. Sincerely and earnestly, we boldly announce that there has to be special respect and honor for our Black teachers. Our Children should never disrespect an instructor, a woman, who resembles in looks, mannerisms, culture and background their mother. If we cannot establish that as a standard never to be broken, then we are lost as a people. Black folks demonstrated for their right for an equal and quality education. Black folks sacrificed, fought and died for that opportunity. Education, for what it has cost us, must be our first love. Those buildings of teaching and learning must be our cathedrals. To be uneducated, to allow our children not to consider the opportunity as a supreme gift from those who died is the most dishonorable thing we allow our children to do. WE cannot stand by or claim ignorance regarding our children's academic performance. We have surrendered our children to a system that loves them not. Black schools in America are failing institutions. Yet our government has left most of the reformation of same to a school structure that considers them special education learners while other students are worthy specialized school winners. It is a two-tier system. Our children are the losing team. We have stated our case. We have recognized our mistakes and are willing to collaborate with educators to correct the system. What we will not be a party to is to remain silent and complacent while others register our children for all the special educations classrooms in the country. In fact, we demand a moratorium on special education placement so that a plan can be devised of benefit to all. Punishing our children is not the solution.
BROTHERS , WE HAVE WORK TO DO!!!!!
