After her first day on the job, she does a little bit of digging and planting in her home garden. As she was doing this, some cute little bunnies started hanging around. Of course, Aurore jumped at the opportunity to cuddle the little furballs.

Alright I gotta ask. When it comes to Melusine Creator... how does Neuvillette fit in? He basically sees the Melusines as his daughters, so what would he do when he learns of a new Melusine and their abyssal guardian? How would FL react? Would Neuvillette Know? I need answers!!!

Neuvillette is a little confused when Sedene cheerfully tells him about the new sibling she and the other Melusine have welcomed into Merusea- as far as he knows, "new" Melusine aren't really a thing- but simply shrugs it off at first as his children being carefree and whimsical... until he overhears Menthe tiredly mumbling about a giant creature the color of night that sparkles like stars, and the Iudex's blood runs cold. he sets out towards the village the moment his work ends for the day, diving into the water and under the earth before surfacing in familiar caverns, ones he's had memorized for hundreds of years. Cosanzeana greets him cheerfully, with the same flower garden as last time, skipping alongside her father as he ventures deeper into the village, coming across a new seashell house tucked away in the corner

Neuvillette's eyes widen when he settles his gaze on an armored monster, wings all tangled with starlight, gently cradling an oddly patterned Melusine, similar stars in their eyes. the beast growls at him, holding the Melusine closer as they begin to shiver fearfully

it's you, the Creator- he knows it is. but how? perhaps the god of everything has a similar method of rebirth as he does... whatever the reason is, Neuvillette quickly gives you a deep, firm bow, keeping both of his hands in front of him, and the Abyssal creature's hisses slowly fade into soft purrs as you raise a mittened hand and pat it on the head

with your safety intact, you tell Neuvillette everything, the Hydro Sovereign listening with mounting horror. no wonder you wanted to stay hidden in Merusea- the only ones who showed you any kindness were the Melusine and this monster, the one you called Foul Legacy. you plead for him not to tell anyone, about you or Legacy, and he gives you his word as Iudex that he would make sure no harm came to you and your friends- after all, you were beloved by all of his children. as your disciple, it was his duty to protect you whenever necessary... although, with how you won the friendship of an Abyssal creature of all things, Neuvillette is sure you'll be well defended

so the Dragon of Hydro tells no one of his brief trip to the countryside, not saying a single word of what he found, for now

One Love

"Money can't buy life." - B. Marley’s last words

    Bob Marley (1945-1981) should need no introduction, but in case you’ve been living under a rock, he was one of the pioneers of Reggae.  A Jamaican singer, songwriter, and musician whose music has touched the lives of millions. 

    As most of us do, a lot of my music taste and influence comes from hearing the music our parents or even grandparents played. Bob Marley was one of those early childhood memories. Specifically, ‘I Shot the Sheriff’. I was born in ‘83 and being raised in the Southern US, there’s a lot of cultures I was able to experience.  

    A decade ago, I had a friend that was from Jamaica who taught me more about this legendary musician, Bob Marley.  This friend would play Marley’s music at almost every gathering and because we worked together, we had frequent conversations of his life and what it was like in Jamaica.  In turn I would share stories and experiences I had growing up in the South.  Since that friendship had to end Marley does invoke a bit of nostalgia, it more ways than I realize. 

    Since Covid has closed dining rooms, so restaurants are resulted to delivery and take out there’s really no work for a bartender right now.  I’ve had to take a job from an old boss.  This is basically the same job I shared with that friend mentioned above. I’ve faced a lot of nostalgia lately. 

    Nostalgia is a funny thing as the word algia means the Nost inflicts pain. Remembering something and longing for it is inflicting pain upon yourself. There is an inevitable death and end to all things, even relationships.  I hope that Marley’s Legacy lasts and reaches as many people as it can.

    Bob Marley was an inspiring man and someone worth learning about and listening too.  There’s a line from a movie that stuck with me, from ‘I Am Legend’, a horror movie adapted from a comic book by the same title, “He[Bob Marley] had this idea. It was kind of a virologist idea. He believed that you could cure racism and hate... literally cure it, by injecting music and love into people's lives.” If you listen to Marley and just open your heart and mind, I think he’s onto something. 

    Put on some Bob Marley and if you’ve got the ingredients, make yourself the Bob Marley shot.  I think a more appropriate name for this would be, ‘One Love’. 

One Love

1oz Grenadine

1oz Galliano

½oz Crème de Menthe

½oz Appleton’s 151 Proof

Pour grenadine into chilled shot glass.

Carefully layer Galliano using barspoon, knife or preferred layering tool.

Mix in a separate glass the Appleton’s 151 and Crème de Menthe, then add this as the top layer carefully.

Carefully set the top aflame and serve.

Please drink responsibly & never drink and drive.

Well I guess it had to happen sometime... Creme De Menthe, professional slacker and all around layabout, an adult.  Not that you’d know it to look at me, but thanks to my terribly good luck, I won a house in a raffle at a state fair.  I’d never been to the fair, and was encouraged with cheap beer and peer pressure to enter.  What a j-o-k-e, I said, I’ll probably win a beer koozie, I said.  So up I went, plunked my ticket in the prize bowl, and whammo!  New home ownership.

My guess is most people would be happy with a home, let alone one with no neighbors and no way of defaulting.  Me?  I move around a lot, I hate staying one place too long, and this was like... having to admit I was in my late 20s without so much as a stick of furniture to my name.  The house came prefurnished thank God but my actual belongings fit in one slightly maligned brown cardboard box.  It was like a cosmic laugh at my expense, with a piece of property in the middle of absolute nowhere to be forever yolked to me, til death do us part.  The only job I could find anywhere near here was a lab test subject at a local government outpost.  Why do they always hole up miles from civilization, out there in the corn dappled plains?

Here’s to a good future or something... guess it’s time to make this crap official.  Whoop-de-freakin’-do.

Can you tell me about Coyote? I love that picture you drew of her, it's gorgeous!!

Oh my gosh, of course! :D

Okay, so for those of you who don't know, this is Coyote;

She's my WIP's version of a wood elf, she grew up on in the Menth wilderness with her tribe, a traveling group of wood elf hunters. They name their children after the child's first kill, and Coyote first killed a--you guessed it--coyote.

She's a master archer, quick witted, faithful, religious, strong willed, and hard to befriend.

She ends up leaving her tribe to follow what she believes is a sign she belongs elsewhere, in the city of Geminis.

Geminis City was built on sacred ground that was stolen from her people ages ago, so when Coyote discovers a rebellion fighting to take the throne from the current queen, Coyote joins up. She rightly believes the land belongs to her people, and kind of becomes a champion of her people, even if they reject her for leaving her tribe. They think leaving the wilderness is bad luck, (due to all the times they left in the past and Bad Things happened.) They think that Coyote is bad luck.

Coyote just wants to take their land back from the people who stole it, and she's working day and night to do it.

She ends up getting into a relationship with a young woman, another rebel, named Jeni. They are very in love. 💘

Eventudally the Queen's son, Logan, switches sides and joins the rebellion. Coyote and Logan become good friends quickly, and they're practically attached at the hip.

Coyote is the type of girl who congratulates you on having sex, then buys you a drink in celebration. She shoots apples off people's heads while blindfolded. Point is; she's fun at a party and you should definitely get her drunk.

She has no filter, she's super blunt, and comes across as rude sometimes, but she's the most honest person I've ever written.

She nearly gives her life a dozen times, for a dozen different people, usually a child, or an innocent. Coyote has a very strong sense of justice, she's very noble, and would 100% for to protect someone she thinks deserves to live. (She doesn't die, I promise, she's just willing to.) She's kinda dead set on dying as a martyr, no matter how many times people tell her to stop it. (She's kinda Zuko level horny for honor.)

Towards the end of the story like half of Geminis City is destroyed, and Coyote starts to regrow the wilderness there and reclaim it for her people. It's her pride and joy, her greatest accomplishment, and her legacy. It's a project she spent the rest of her life on, but it's worth it.

She's making a difference in the world, and I adore her for it. She's just, truly, at her core, a good person. Coyote is one of those characters you write, and you can't help but feel like she's earned her happy ending, you know?
