Out of curiosity, I dug into my family jewelry drawer and pulled out 2 men's watches from the 1940s. The first was a gift from my great-grandmother Frances to her husband, Joseph. The second watch was a gift from the two of then to their son - my great-uncle - Edward.

It's very interesting how small men's watches were in this era. Just look how enormous my fitbit is next to them!

I don't know enough about watches to know if other watches of this era had large faces, but these two are rare examples of men's watches that don't dwarf my wrist, for once.

To my delight, the first watch still keeps time! The second won't even wind, alas. Might take them both to a watch person for appraisal/repair.

I think I'll wear the first one for Siegfried; I'm pretty sure Sam is wearing a modern watch (see the large dial) on the show, which I could source if I get bored enough, but this is about the vibes and it'd be fun to wear a family heirloom, of sorts.
