I know this is a wild take, but men need more hugs. From other men, from women, from children and their parents alike.
Real, tight, honest hugs to let them feel connected and appreciated. Those 10cm apart and with a painful slap on the back hugs do not count!

I'm not the first person to say this, but there really is something groundbreaking about the lack of romantic plotlines in Wolf 359.
Wolf 359 is a story aimed at and about adults. It's partly about what it means to be human. It's partly about how we exist in relation to other people. It's partly about interpersonal connection and understanding. It has character relationships at its heart. It features so many moments of love and care between characters. It takes place across just over two years of the characters' lives, with 61 episodes and a main cast that grows to a decent size.
And despite all this, the show doesn't feature a single canonical 'on-screen' romantic (or sexual) relationship. Perhaps that shouldn't be as rare as it is, but it's one of the many things that makes Wolf 359 special to me.

I do think Clint is sexist, but not in a malicious way. Like many real guys, he sees women as basically a different species from men. Women have our own way of thinking and communicating that we all know and agree upon, but which is inherently foreign to menfolk like Clint. F!Farmer understands Emily because women always understand what other women are like; some men, like Shane and M!Farmer, have a knack for cross-gender communication. Clint doesn't have this knack, and likely never will, which is why he's so desperate for Farmer's advice. He also idealizes Emily, pinning his hopes for happiness on her, but never blaming her for not choosing him.
Clint has a very all-or-nothing way of thinking -- look at his attitude about his job -- and that's something he's going to have to work on to have any hope of personal fulfillment. But his sexism just doesn't come from a place of cruelty or entitlement.
hey sorry to be rude but what the fuck are you talking about. considering women to be "a different species" IS sexist. sexism ALWAYS comes from a place of entitlement, that's what sexism IS... its not true that all women understand eachother either, or that some men are incapable of learning to communicate. like this isnt about clint anymore. everything in this submission is unhinged

Nadia wants everyone to know, even though she is taking a sabbatical and may dress more casual, she is still the boss. Suit game, shoe game, bag game still on point! Don't you forget it.

"I don't dislike Andrew. It would be impossible to dislike so harmless a being. He is one of those good, talkative, awkward dears who goad you irresistibly into tormenting them. Then you feel remorseful afterwards because they are so good.
"To-night, Aunt Ruth being out, I tried to discover how little I could really say to Andrew, while I pursued my own train of thought. I discovered that I could get along with very few words—'Yes'—'No'—in several inflections, with or without a little laugh—'I don't know'—'Really?'—'Well, well'—'How wonderful!'—especially the last. Andrew talked on, and when he stopped for breath I stuck in 'How wonderful.' I did it exactly eleven times. Andrew liked it. I know it gave him a nice, flattering feeling that he was wonderful, and his conversation wonderful. Meanwhile I was living a splendid imaginary dream-life by the River of Egypt in the days of Thotmes I.
"So we were both very happy. I think I'll try it again. Andrew is too stupid to catch me at it.
"When Aunt Ruth came home she asked, 'Well, how did you and Andrew get along?'
"She asks that every time he comes down. I know why. I know the little scheme that is understood among the Murrays, even though I don't believe any of them have ever put it into words.
"'Beautifully,' I said. 'Andrew is improving. He said one interesting thing to-night, and he hadn't so many feet and hands as usual.'

Eye studies featuring Amaryllia and her partners! Sten, Ser Perth, Loghain, and Cullen, in the approximate order they become particularly significant to her.
I keep drawing them without talking about them, so a little explanation under the cut for those curious—
Sten is her partner throughout the Blight, and although he must return to Seheron and thus end the relationship once the Blight is over, they make the most of their time together while they can.
Ser Perth never really becomes one of her partners, but he gets an honorary mention here as her Redcliffe fling and dear friend. She ends up at Redcliffe a lot, and after the first time, during which she took him inside the windmill and kissed him “for morale”, they continue their clandestine meetings whenever she is in the area.
Loghain! Ah, Loghain, the man I created her to love... She falls for him hard and fast at Ostagar and spends the Blight writing him increasingly passionate letters to try to get him to join forces with her. After sparing him at the Landsmeet, he quickly falls for her, too, and they spend the rest of the Blight falling deeper in love. He proposes shortly before Awakening, and they get married afterward before relocating to Orlais. She finds a cure to the taint and the Calling in Inquisition times, and after curing them both, they retire from the Wardens to a cozy cottage in the Fereldan hinterlands, where he returns to his farming roots and she takes up apothecary and healing work.
Cullen was her crush at the Circle, and while it was very clearly mutual, she never tried to make a move until it was too late and she was recruited into the Wardens. After rescuing him during Broken Circle, they share their first kisses and some sweet moments before she has to leave again. They take up letter writing but don’t meet again in person until years later, between Inquisition and Trespasser. Once the Inquisition is disbanded, he is given land for his clinic near her cottage, and the next twenty years are full of both personal and professional visits. Amaryllia tends to his patients and provides them with herbs and potions, and the wool from her and Loghain’s flock of sheep goes to gloves and scarves for them. The three of them develop a deep friendship, and once Loghain passes, she and Cullen finally pursue the romantic relationship that fate denied them and eventually marry.

Realizing now that I have the inexplicable urge to make men work, especially if they're physically fit. Like oh? You lift? Well, how about you go lift those heavy bags of soil and mulch and distribute them evenly throughout my gardens? Go grab that ladder and clean out my eavestroughs 🫵🤨. Go prune that tree that's growing a little too close to my roofline. Repair the steps leading up to my front porch. Help me assemble this new piece of furniture I got. Build me a shed to store my outdoor furniture and garden tools in. You got those big muscles, now use them 🫵🤨.

Why is it that reading fantastic prose motivates me and makes me want to dive back into writing...but the opposite is true for art?
