Dr. Olivia Octavius Headcanon (AU)
Tumblr media
Born and raised in California, Los Angeles August 8th, 1957
adopted by a second generation Mexican American Family as a baby (stretch you imagination for a bit, I know im fooling with actual legal history here but bear with me lol)
her mother had trouble having chicken for a few years and prayed every dat for them but she felt like she should adopt and ws drawn Olivia.
her mother Elena was a Sundays school teacher and a homemaker and her father worked in construction
she was a happy active and outgoing girl. she could never have her hair done for long it aways came out messed up from her being outide and playing and digging up dirt.
she was tested for being gifted and passed and got transferred to a gifted school for kids her
she learned how to surf and loved being outside and nature and always caught butterflies in the summer.
she was teased for her hair, height, glasses and her parents heritage and got into fights and even a few fist fights but she never let it get to her and built her confidence from it.
the boys however thought she was cute when she got older and flirted with her and that was another reason to hate her.
she skipped grades and finished under Gard school quickly.
she eventually applied to MIT at 19 years old and didn't get in her first year but applied the following year and got it.
she after her first year she didn't think would come back to New York because there was hardly any attire and was surrounded by building and after her first winter ever, she was sure shed be gone by summer time but Norman convinced her to stay.
There she met norman osborn after overhearing a conversation him and dr stromm were having and the next day struck up a close friendship with her and Dr stromm and lasted ever since.
She taught Norman to salsa and she would always make him laugh
she and dr stromm encouraged him in his support of oscorp
Norman ended up convincing Olivia to speed through school and get their doctorate degree. Which they did , they graduated with a doctorate at 22
over time she fell in love with him hard but by the time she felt the need to tell him n, he had met someone else named Emily Lyman
Olivia met Emily a few times and didn’t see any glaring reason why they shouldn’t be together not to mention she was always “busy” or our partying but soon she’ll come to realize how that would hurt Norman in the end.
Olivia over the years tried to give advice to Norman on dating but his insecurities would just talk a little bit louder and he end up making the same mistakes. Until after so many heartbreaks and lies , he just became bitter over dating. After his last and final broken engagement, with a woman who was actually genuine, due to her not wanting to sign a prenup, he just reigned to the fact that “marriage isn’t for him” . And stayed a confirmed bachelor.
at 40 years old she left the Company to start her own. Norman was heartbroken a bit but knew she ha dreams of her own to pursue and they always talked abut her dreams as well and he was more than happy to support her.
Norman made sure he was the first one to donate to her company of 100 million dollars.
she moved her company to upstate New York, where she built a home as well and feels like she can "breathe"

a/n: thanks to @qiupachups for proofreading cause lord knows i wouldn't have... im not ok guys like actua
“And over here is our robotics department — my favourite, personally.”
All you could think about as the man in front of you talked your ears off — and walked your legs off — was how on Earth you ended up here, rooms and corridors deep into the Oscorp Industries. Trying not to get hit by speeding interns or bump into equipment that cost more than your school uniform, you’d been taking in the winding laboratories and offices that were well past the flashy displays at the reception for the past hour or so, led by the one and only… well, the man had yet to introduce himself since excitedly deciding to take you on a tour. Forming connections, as Ms. Weber had put it, was more exhausting than you’d thought.
“Take a look at this arm for a moment — trained completely on artificial intelligence, and moves just like the real thing!”
You just smiled and nodded, the muscles in your neck starting to hurt from the action. As you did, the metal prosthetic spurred into life, swaying and flexing its bulky fingers in what looked random enough; how realistic it seemed was debatable, though. You noticed small, engraved initials on the wrist, reading “O.G.O”, much like the prototypes in the flashy displays downstairs. You’d seen nothing of the sort up here until now, though. Maybe this one was was just special.
Regardless, you really needed to sit down at some point — preferably in some corner so people could stare at you less. There was always someone throwing furtive glances your way, and right now it seemed to be a gaunt-looking man you’d seen slinking around the department, now in the little laboratory full of strange-looking arms and mechanisms that weren’t nearly as functional as the “A.I” powered one.
“Thank you, Doctor…” You squinted, the faded remnants of the name “MENDEL STROMM” forming on his badge. “Stromm.”
“Professor. Professor Stromm,” he corrected, earnest yet almost with pride. “I always felt like a teacher at heart, anyway.”
You only managed to make it halfway through your umpteenth nod before something caught the corner of your eye. The catching of light from somewhere above you, just for a moment — insignificant, really. It seemed to catch your attention long enough for Professor Stromm to notice your attention had gone elsewhere, though.
“Oh, I must be tiring you. Do you like coffee?” You barely had a chance to open your mouth. “I'll get us both some coffee, God knows I need it— just give me a minute!”
Before you could answer, the man skittered away, his rounder frame creating a noticeable dispersion the sea of people moving through the hall until he was nowhere to be seen.
That left you, a random kid, in the robotics laboratory with probably more than one pair of eyes on you. Or maybe not; when you let yourself look around, there didn’t seem to be anyone in the lab at the present moment. Thank God.
A long-overdue sigh left your chest. As much as you'd been lucky to run into Stromm by the reception (before the less-than-polite receptionist could tell you to beat it), you never expected to be running around so much from place to place, trying to make mental notes of everything he'd been saying.
So far, you had “A.I. arm”, something about “gene editing”, some other thing about “99% efficient generators” and a whole other string of scientific jargon thrown in between half-finished explanations and sporadic spurs of Stromm’s recollection. Admittedly, it stressed you out a little; you constantly had the urge to take a piece of pen and paper and record everything he was saying but you only needed a few brief ideas to go off of on your college essay. That was, if you were even going to go into the science field. You still hadn’t decided, though, if you were going to keep performing like how you did right now in your AP classes, you’d probably have your decision made for you soon enough at the back of those lifeless vegan diners opening up everywhere.
Maybe you could get an internship here, if you were lucky enough. Had you been showing enough enthusiasm? It was hard to match. In fact, the man was so enthusiastic he drained the enthusiasm from you. His passion was admirable, but also somewhat pitiful — like he had nobody to truly share his passions with it. At least until a bumbling, bashful sophomore from Visions came along. You’d rather not think about it too hard — this room was starting to make you feel dizzy. It was like there was something wrong with the ventilation, but you didn’t dare go out, given you’d probably get lost in a minute or two.
It was a week into winter break already, and the realisation made you wince. Just a couple weeks into January and you'd be head-first into exams again, while all your friends who went to other schools lived their lives. Visions just had to be different, it looked like. A couple more of Mr Wellston’s unbearable classes before that, though — instead of learning any math, you’d mastered the art of having one eye on your handout and the other on Miles’.
Miles Morales — you’d almost forgotten about him. Almost. It wasn’t hard, given how every text you’d send him had been left on read. He could’ve been busy, (or given you the wrong number) but the dread of being in that careers fair full of freshmen alone was staring to creep up on you. At least a little confirmation that he wouldn’t disappear off of the face of the Earth this semester would be nice.
Hey?
There was a twang in your chest as you looked over your barren chat.
Read at 2:41AM
…What unethical sort of time is that? He could just be bad at texting — or he just decided to hate your guts now. Either seemed unfortunately probable. Were you enemies, or something? Were you supposed to be annoyed? You’d known this kid for a couple weeks at most. Maybe it was weird of you for wanting to get his number so soon. Miles had his own life, even though he walked you back to your apartment in the middle of nowhere that one time. Why did you even care so much?
Maybe there just wasn't enough time in the day for the both of you.
Beep!
To your surprise, Stromm had come back faster than usual. He had a hand over his face, adjusting his glasses, but… no coffee in sight. The door locked automatically behind him, his badge wrung awkwardly around his neck, like he’d just thrown it on.
“Is the coffee machine broken, or something…?”
“They're completely out of cups, I'm sorry.”
“It's alright.” You could’ve really use that coffee right now, you thought.
Still, you smiled at him, feeling the ache in your face smile with you. The man seemed to be pondering something, standing still with a slightly tense expression on his face. He looked like he could’ve used that coffee too.
“Are you okay, Professor?” You tried asking this as unassumingly as you could, but it got a twitch out of him anyway.
“Yes, yes, I've just lost my train of thought…”
You waited, the faint murmurs down the hallway and the strangled breath of the ventilation system above filling the void of silence.
“Are we going to the next floor…?” you suggested.
“No, no,” he said in that melodic way he did, putting a finger up. At least he was somewhat like himself — just thinking, is all.
You decided to be patient, turning your head to stretch your neck slightly, feigning interest in the light fixtures above.
Just what the hell was that gigantic, moving shadow on the ceiling?
“Um, well I think we should go, it’s kind of warm in here—”
“Actually, I think you could do something for me.”
“What is it…?” Your eye twitched as you noticed a figure starting to form from the shadow.
“You see that robotic arm?” The one on display or the one sticking out of the god damn ceiling? “I think you should try it on.”
“What? Really?” It felt like something you’d get in trouble for, but nobody else seemed to be around — except for, you know, the dark humanoid figure right above you. “I— I think I need to use the bathroom first.”
“It’ll be quick. I mean, it’s already hooked up!” Stromm was already reaching for the device.
“No, it’s okay—”
Krrrrr… Bzzzzt!
The room flooded with darkness. Every light had gone out at the same time, the whirr of machines and electricity dying out.
“What on Ear—”
All but for a blur of reddish-magenta light.
Before you could open your mouth, the sound of a ruthless, metallic thud emerged, immediately followed by the crunching of glass, and then a choked breath.
Your vision suddenly sharpening in the little light there was, you could make out the silhouette of Stromm, staggering into the display which held the arm. Where he’d just been was now a foot, faint purplish light glowing from the underside of a shoe.
And then, a grating mechanical sound followed — it sounded like something was snapping over and over, like the arm you’d seen in the display as it moved its joints. A rim of light flickered around what looked to be a sleeve, which was attached to a giant, metallic set of claws, the sharp edges of which caught the light.
“Who are you?! W—What are you doing here?!” the professor shouted out, his feet heavy and erratic on the floor as he tried to ease himself up. His voice came out strange and desperate, strained, almost unfamiliar. You’d think it was someone else if you didn’t know it was Stromm.
All you could do was watch, taking tiny, careful steps back as you tried not to breathe. The figure moved forward, at an unnatural angle, turning as its mechanical claw clenched and unclenched in a now almost seamless movement. You caught the edge of a strange emblem, scrawled messily across the front of what looked to be a suit. It was familiar, and it sickened you once you realised.
“—In this morning’s report we investigate a disturbing string of robberies and break-ins, suspected to be carried out by a criminal duo including—”
There was no mistake — that was…
“The Prowler,” a voice answered for you, crackling and modulated.
“—Norman Obsorn suspects that Oscorp supply chains have been intercepted—”
An ear-piercing buzzing emerged from the air as threads of energy sputtered from the glowing core of his arm device, climbing rapidly up to the centre of his palm. What formed was a concentrated mass of ebnergy, undulating between the claws and casting harsh shadows around the room. Your eyes darted to Stromm, heart in your throat as you expected to meet a horrified, helpless version of the expression he had mere moments ago — it was anything but.
His face was stuck, slack — near dead. And as you watched the energy inevitably grow, his face began to change. What was once the face of Professor Stromm amalgamated into a shapeless, fleshless form, his skin receding into itself and leaving pallid, bloodless sheets of muscle, twitching with thick shadows in the ever-expanding light. As he lifted his head, deep, glowing pits were in place of his eyes.
The same strange voice that came out of the face, you realised, had never been Stromm’s to begin with.
“You are making a mistake.”
Before you could react, your skin singed with heat, sparks rushing past like missiles as the room threatened to explode into white. That was what finally gave you the sense to run.
“—It seems the notorious criminal and his accomplice have increased their activity among a concerning rise of organised crime. Authorities think they could be affiliated with what is coming to be known as ‘The Sinister Six’—”
CRASH!
Beyond your covered ears, a dull boom reverberated through the lab, a million broken shards of glass and plastic flashing with the aftershock. If you were hurt, you didn’t know, adrenaline ushering through your body. Your heartbeat was sharp and loud, your hands were shaking, bile was coming up your throat.
Get me out of here get me out of here get me out of here leave leave leave leave—
Your eyes were painfully wide, stinging with tears, yet everything was overwhelming and sharp and bright — that was when you saw it.
Glass case. Fist. You gritted your teeth.
CRRAAACK!
Big. Red. Panic button.
SLAM!
Instantly, the room exploded with red, blaring light, sirens howling through the room and beyond the door, the lock disabled. You caught one last gaze from those white electric slits before scampering into the hallway, door slamming shut behind you. All you could hear was the clatter of your feet in tandem with your thundering heart, throat too dry to scream. You just needed to get out of here, they couldn’t catch up with you — they wouldn’t.
Shoving past alarmed faces, you advanced to the end of the hall. Stairs — safest bet.
You scrambled down the dingy stairwell, hip throbbing with pain as you turned sharply against the railing down to the next floor. Sweat prickled at your skin, and you tried to breathe. The stairs seemed endless, but you were soon on the bottom floor, dragging yourself to follow everyone else leaving the building. Until you got out, you wouldn’t slow down.
Staggering into the cold, thin wind bit at your skin, the faint cry of police sirens from somewhere you couldn’t see. You tore the visitor’s badge from around your neck, filling your lungs again in big, painful gulps and squeezing your stinging eyes shut.
Never have you been more grateful to breathe in the musty Brooklyn air that you so, so hated.
Tumblr media
“Miles…”
“I wasn’t fuckin’ thinking straight!”
“Miles.”
“I swear I had him I just—”
“Miles!”
“What?!”
“Jesus Christ, man. Calm your shit!”
Miles tensed as Aaron gave him a firm slap on the shoulder, the sick feeling in his throat easing just a little.
“It ain’t your fault.” The cool, collected voice of Uncle Aaron, much to his dismay, managed to break through his racing mind. It was his fault — everything was his fault. He’d messed up everything!
“Yes the fuck it is!”
“Watch yo’ mouth.” Aaron had a sudden severity in his tone, kicking Miles back into normality.
“Sorry,” he mumbled back.
Miles elbowed the punching bag beside him, unable to meet his uncle’s eyes. He’d let the man they’d been chasing for the past month to get away, all because he’d been too hasty — too immature. And you had made a stupidly smart decision to press that damn alarm.
“I’m sorry, okay?” he mutters again, voice seeming to fight itself.
“It’s not your fault,” Aaron repeats.
“He’s gon’ kill more people regardless. He could’ve killed—” He bit his lip, hard; your name was right at the back of his throat.
Aaron met his gaze again, but he didn’t give him the courtesy of returning it, eyes stuck to the ground.
“…There sumn’ you’re not tellin’ me?” Aaron asked.
Miles just shrugged, bottom lip freeing itself with the lingering sting of his teeth. There was probably a lot more than there should be that he hadn’t told his uncle.
Walking over to the drawer, he pulled out the dusty old case file. It had tattered corners and the paper had a weird feel to it, like it was from a long time ago: 3 years, to be exact. It was an older case that had re-emerged some time ago — the last case his dad was involved in.
Flicking it open, he was met with all the reports and notes, ones he’d grown sick of seeing: “Unidentifiable suspect”, “vague circumstances” and “unverifiable” were some of the few reasons why. They weren’t going down the “typical” route of investigation, but it didn’t make it any easier that they could break down a few doors without a warrant.
For the past month, Miles had been searching for leads, clues, chasing down suspects of these missing person’s cases — all of them leading him right back to where he started. Every time he thought he was getting closer, he’d go back a hundred steps. Everything about this case lacked any sense of logic; people would disappear without any sort of reason, completely by random. There was no pattern to these cases, except for the fact that whatever circumstances that surrounded them were vague and undetailed.
No name, no face, no form. But he’d finally managed to catch the fish at the end of the hook, following someone who had yet to go missing: a certain scientist at Oscorp industries, who worked in robotics and hadn’t been seen for 24 hours, but showed up to work the next day somehow.
That man had followed another scientist — Mendel Stromm — only to come back in his body. Miles had let it happen, out of necessity, he thought — to finally see what was going on. And he did, he saw the man transform into Stromm. He saw the man walk back into the laboratory and act as it nothing had happened.
And then, he saw you.
You. He wasn’t blaming you for this, was he? No, it wasn’t your fault, you just happened to be… in severe danger.
Miles could’ve prevented this, had he not been so desperate — so conflicted. He could’ve texted you back, told you to stay away from Oscorp instead of typing and deleting the same awkward replies late at night.
And he was supposed to go back to school and see you, and do that job fair with you, right after he’d saved— Right after you saved yourself — from the Prowler. From him.
“You alright?” Miles whipped his head around to see Aaron looking at him, a slight hint of concern in his face.
“Yeah—” He stopped himself from saying sorry. “Gonna head home.”
Miles pushed the drawer shut, feeling the eyes of the people he’d left behind on him — more recently, Mendel Stromm. He wondered if they blamed him just as he blamed himself.
As he walked back to his apartment, he slipped on his jacket — Uncle Aaron’s jacket. He even felt guilty for wearing it, damn it.
Shutting the door and world outside behind him, he took a hesitant glance at the shoe rack. His mom’s shoes were missing.
“Took an extra shift. Dinner’s in the microwave. Tqm!" (Ily!)
“Y yo te quiero,” (And I love you) he mutters to himself, careful not to crease the note between his fingers.
At least she’d never find out. His mom would be off work soon, so he’d get to spend time with her, hopefully. He was just busy himself, with school starting again next week, the job fair, a million different quizzes, meetings with the guidance counsellor…
His dad’s anniversary was right in-between that.
Miles folded up the note, and then tossed it in the trash. All he wanted to do was go to sleep, but he hadn’t done any of his work for the winter break.
So, with a deep breath, he headed to his room, sitting at his desk. Miles tried to ignore the numerous sketches of his own gear, and half-finished faces as he tried looking for a pen in his drawers.
One drawing caught his eye, a familiar face. Well, it wasn’t exactly a face. It wasn’t finished yet, but he could picture the way it’d look if it were finished. It was “a friend”, he’d practised telling himself in case his mom decided to clean his room without telling him — you, without an expression but the curve of your cheek and the start of your hair he’d been so focused on instead of your eyes whenever he’d talked to you.
“~Ain’t no love… and it’s sure ‘nuff a pity…”
As he opened his notebook, faint music played from his phone, in an attempt to get him to focus. Still, he wondered if you’d find it weird that he drew you, how you’d look at him if you ever knew about it.
Miles wondered how you’d look at him if you knew he was the one at Oscorp — The Prowler.
Tumblr media
“Guys, I don’t think he’s coming.”
“No shit!” The sound of laughter burst out in the room. All you could do was sigh, head on your desk.
Winter break had gone faster than you’d expected, especially given the amount of time you spent in the police station. They asked you the same questions, over and over and over, until you started to doubt your own memory. It was probably necessary, to prove you weren’t lying, or something, but it was exhausting, and you were just glad it was over.
“Why were you in Oscorp to begin with?”
“Do you remember the exact time it was before he left?”
“Are you certain it was Dr. Stromm that walked in?”
“You’re sure?”
You didn’t want to think about it, and you didn’t need anyone else to know either. It was better to pretend nothing happened, and that you’d had a productive break like everyone else apparently did. Bunch of try-hards.
The problem now, though, was that Mr. Wellston thought it’d be a good idea to disappear on you right before your midterm. He was supposed to finish teaching integration by now, but your class was far from — and of course, it was coming up on the exam.
You didn’t have a supply teacher either, though that was a good thing. Maybe Wellston would get fired, you’d get a new calc teacher, and all would be right in the world. But for now, you had to deal with these overly-pretentious people you called your classmates, (and always seemed to be okay with Wellston’s incompetence for some reason) talk about how easy the exam was gonna be, and about the homework that Mr. Wellston never checked anyway, and about college — because all anyone ever cared about here was getting into an Ivy. Maybe you should’ve just gone to public school. You pushed that thought back before you could seriously started to consider it.
Instead, your thoughts went to the person slouched at the desk next to you: Miles, the kid that had suddenly lost all interest in talking to you entirely. It wasn’t just the boredom of having Calc BC last period, too. For one, he’d never try to start conversations anymore, and two, you couldn’t even hold a conversation with him if you wanted to. When you greeted him in the hallway today, he just walked past, not even bothering to look at you. Maybe he hadn’t been busy over winter break like you thought — he’d just been ignoring you.
“Bro, that’s Principal Evans! Shut up!”
You squinted your eyes, heart dropping as you saw the Principal advance down the hallway, right towards your class. Miles didn’t move at all. In fact, he looked like he was… asleep?
You’ve gotta be kidding me.
“Miles…!” you whisper-shouted, shaking his shoulder to no avail.
Sighing, you thought about slapping him for a moment before deciding against it, shaking his shoulder it a second time, The boy got up with a start.
“Huh…? Wha… what? What do you want?”
“Prin… ci… pal..!” you mouthed, furrowing your brows at him and pointing to the door.
“Oh, damn…” He stifled a yawn, rubbing his eyes before straightening up on his chair. As much as Miles liked to annoy teachers, anyone would quickly come to learn that annoying Principal Evans was a death wish — from both her, and your parents.
As he fixed up, you caught a glimpse of his face for the first time today. So much for promising to not look at him. Exhausted wasn’t enough to describe it — he looked like he’d gone to war, or something. At least you’d managed to sleep well enough, without dreaming about Oscorp. Count your blessings, I guess.
You didn’t have much time to relish in your few blessings, though, as the tall, well-dressed woman stopped by the door. She peered in, before her brows knitted together, opening the door.
“Y’all don’t have a teacher?” she said, in that quick, strong voice that put you all on edge. Some of you had the confidence to mutter a “no.” or shake your head. “Who are you supposed to have?”
She shook her head as your class answered, pulling out her phone.
“Gimme one second. I don’t care if the period’s almost over. Fifteen minutes of class is fifteen minutes of class…”
You held back the urge to sigh again. If Wellston showed up, he’d probably force you all to stay back an hour and “catch up”. That, and you had the careers fair to help out with right after this period. The door closed again as Principal Evans took a call outside, and you let your eyes shut.
“Hey Martin, I’ve got a class here that…” Her voice fading into the background and your class starting to murmur again, you opened your eyes, only to catch Miles’ gaze just for a second.
“What?” you said, looking at him, though it came out a little too confrontational.
“What?” he mirrored back, though it came out a little too much like a statement. Miles — always good at making you feel stupid, you supposed.
“What’s up with you today?” you started, deciding it was better to bite the bullet.
“Nothing. Why?” Maybe not.
“Are you going to the careers fair…?”
“I kind of have to.” You probably should’ve slapped him when you had the chance.
“…Yeah, but—”
“Alright! Silence!” Principal Evans was at the door, holding it open with her foot. “Nobody’s comin', so y’all gotta do some work until the bell. I do apologise.”
There was a little commotion as people “got to work”, and you shot Miles one last glare before pretending to be interested in the notebook you’d had closed all period.
And so, fifteen minutes passed by with the sound of scribbling next to you, and when you stubbornly tried to peek, his arm just had to be in the way.
A lot was in the way between you two, it felt like. So much for being friends.
The bell finally rang, and you stretched a little as people left, preparing yourself for another hour or two before you could go back to your dorm. At least you wouldn’t have to talk to Miles, you had… freshman to talk to. Maybe this was a learning opportunity — I hated freshman, but from participating in a careers event at my school, I learnt that they’re not just people I have to shove past to get into the cafeteria. At least you didn’t have to put that abysmal sentence in your college essay until next year.
The chair next to you screeched, making you jump a little. You stopped yourself from cursing under your breath, noticing Principal Evans still lingering by the door. She was ushering the last people out, a crease between her brows.
“What class is this?” Her voice was directed at you, you realised.
“Calc BC,” you replied.
“Calc BC…” She seemed to emphasise every sound as she talked, as if she was thinking about something important. “Well aren’t you a bright bunch?” You managed a tiny smile, feeling like you weren’t a part of that “bunch” at the moment.
“I don’t mean to bother you, but… do you know what happened to Mr. Wellston?” you asked, slinging your backpack over your shoulder. You couldn’t believe you were asking about him, but you really needed to figure out how you were gonna pass — and soon.
“I know as much as you do,” she shrugs, earrings swaying as she turns her head back to her phone. “If you wait, I might be able to find out for you. Is it urgent?”
“I mean…” you started, before you felt a slight nudge at your arm.
“We’re gonna be late.” Miles gave you an unreadable look, and for some reason you relented.
“It’s fine, Principal. Thank you.”
“Take care now.” She moved out of the way for you to leave, but before you did, she spoke up again. “Oh, and Miles — I’m already making arrangements, so expect me to call you up at some point.”
“Cool. I mean— okay, thanks,” he mumbled, starting to walk down the hall.
You followed, having to push to keep up among the many students that were moving past. Damn fast walkers…
Feeling the uncomfortable need to talk, you opened your mouth. “We’re going to the gymnasium, right?”
“Yeah.”
“When can we leave?”
“Like, 6pm, or something.” Great.
“That late? How long’s the fair?”
“Thought you’d know.” Oh, maybe.
“I would, if someone told me,” you huffed under your breath.
There was another stretch of silence between you, the school starting to empty as you walked towards the other side where the gymnasium was. Miles didn’t have his earphones in, so there wasn’t much of an excuse for you to be ignored. Somehow, that made you feel less confident to speak.
“How was your break…?” you tried. He was unresponsive for a moment before shrugging.
“Boring.”
“...Yeah, same.” You didn’t sound very certain. The look he gave you made it clear he could tell. There was an uncomfortable pause that made you regret talking in the first place.
“…You okay?” he asked, suddenly.
“What?”
He took in a deep breath, looking at you more seriously. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah… why?” You raised your brow at him, even if he couldn’t see.
“Don’t need a reason to ask.”
“I’m pretty sure you do.”
“It was a rhetorical question.”
“How the hell was that a rhetorical question?”
“That one’s rhetorical too.”
When you realised what he meant, you couldn’t help but smile slightly at the stupidity of your conversation. You thought you caught the corner of his mouth raise too.
“Good thing Ms. White doesn’t pick on you, then,” you joked.
“Watch it, I got an A in English.” The way he said it almost made you laugh. Almost. You wouldn’t give him that.
“Right. And what don’t you have an A in?”
“Calculus.”
“No way…” You gave him a dubious look. “Seriously?”
“A plus.” He was definitely holding back a smile.
“Shut up.” You held back your own smile, too.
The both of you made it to the halfway-point of the campus, where the greenery and outdoor seating was — the place where they’d take all the promotional pictures. If only they could maintain the rest of the school like that too. Though you had to admit, it was a nice day out for January.
Miles stayed silent as you walked. You decided to stay skeptical for now, but a part of you also really just wanted to get along with him. Better than being annoyed at his existence for the next 2 hours.
Maybe he’d just had a bad day — or a bad winter break. He’d been absent for a while, anyway. That wasn’t for no reason. Maybe he just had a lot on his plate. A lot to catch up with, especially.
“How are you getting As anyway? Haven’t you like… missed a lot of classes?”
“I guess.” He shrugged, and the setting sun made it clear that he looked more frazzled and tired than usual. His hair looked like it hadn’t been re-braided in a while, though you wouldn’t tell him that.
Still, when he squinted uncomfortably at the sunlight shining right in your direction, you couldn’t help but notice his eyes again. One was slightly more green, the other slightly brown, coppery flecks in each. They were barely distinguishable in the dim fluorescent light of the school, but you couldn’t help but stare.
He was damn pretty. He was everything, it seemed. Smart, interesting, unique, mysterious, good-looking… You cringed at the realisation that this probably wasn’t a normal thing to think about someone you were supposed to be mad at. Were you supposed to be mad at him…?
“Guess everyone that goes here is a genius huh?” you continued in a rhetorical fashion, a part of you hoping he’d made the same awful joke again,
“That include Rafael?” You pressed your lips together at the mention, stopping the laugh from forming.
“He’s…” you tried, and failed. “Definitely something.”
“You’re smart, though.” You almost stopped walking. He said it so quietly you almost thought you’d misheard.
“I am literally failing Calc.”
“You’re almost failing Calc,” he corrected.
“I will be failing Calc in a week’s time.” You might as well admit it. The thought of that exam next week was hopeless.
“You ain’t even that bad at it.”
“Uh-huh.”
“It’s just practice.”
“Right, right, yeah. I’ll do that.” You didn’t sound very reassured. Miles didn’t seem to be in the mood for reassuring, either, shoving his hands in his pockets.
As you approached the gymnasium, you recognised more of those colourful, weirdly-designed posters, the ones you’d posted around school. Who even made those…?
Someone else was in the distance, walking around the corner. You did a double-take as you elbowed Miles.
“Hey, is that…?” You trailed off, the two of you stopping abruptly.
“The hell is he doing here?”
“No clue. Why’s he coming this wa—”
Suddenly, you felt yourself being pulled behind one of the pillars, and then directly facing Miles.
“What are you doing?!” you whisper-shouted.
“Just shut up for a sec…!” he whisper-shouted back, widening his eyes at you before peering past your less-than suitable hiding place.
His face was just a breath away from yours, arm blocking you from moving, or really seeing what he was so desperately trying to look at. Your heart was starting to thump in your ears, and you couldn’t find it in you to breathe, eyes fixed on his hand curled around your wrist for a moment before he let go, focusing on what was in the distance.
“Nobody’s seen him all day,” he mutters to you.
“Yeah, I know, but why are we hiding?”
“He’s— Just keep still.” He giving you a warning look, much like the one he gave Rafael — this time, with a hint of worry.
Deciding to keep your mouth shut, you dared to look past the pillar, just as he did.
There, approaching the gymnasium back door, was Mr. Wellston. The man came to a stop, walking awkwardly beside the wall, glancing around as if he was trying to avoid something.
In a split second, he disappeared behind one of the pieces of foliage. Miles stared hard, grabbing your arm and advancing the two of you closer. You were confused, before Miles’ grip on your sleeve tightened. Only then did you see it.
Almost seamlessly, Wellston disappeared, taking on the form of a police officer, yellow visitor’s badge around his neck — P.C. Williams, officer for the careers fair.
“Jesus Christ…” Miles muttered, eyes fixed on him, right until he went through the gymnasium doors.
You thought the exact same thing.

Earth-18104 - 1980
List of events that occurred from 1980 to 1988 in Earth-18104. The story behind these events is not completely complete, some are well summarized. Most of these events happening here are taken by other medias, like the movies and the comics, but doesn't follow Marvel Canon or the time-line established so faithfully, and include stories of my OCs.
The (N) at the end of names serves to indicate character births. I will include more events as I write more about the characters.

• He was present at the site for the first bomb detonation, however, upon seeing that a civilian, Rick Jones, had breached security and entered the restricted testing area, Banner entered.
• His assistant, secretly a double agent, detonated the bomb and intense waves of radiation reached the surface.
• Banner was irradiated with highly charged radioactive particles, which altered his body, causing him to frequently transform into the immensely powerful humanoid monster known as "The Hulk".
• Eventually, Henry Pym (22) became the hardest-working biochemist in the world, but the lack of innovation in his experiments eventually became too much for him.
• While working on a development program paid for by the Roxxon Oil Company, Pym was distracted by an ant farm and when his employer picked up on the case, Pym finally lost his temper.
• Grumbling about not being able to use his imagination, Pym angrily threw the ant farm across the room and quit his job.
• That same night he met with Maria Trovaya, who took him to the beach to relax. Lying in the sand, Pym expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with her, just enjoying her presence.
• Maria joked about Pym being a "very hard-working ant" and said she doubted he would know how to relax if it weren't for her.
• Back at his apartment, Henry was inspired by Maria's words and his father's motto and decided to use his scientific prowess to try and fight crime while continuing to create his size-changing formula.
• Using ants as an example, he began studying entomology and began experimenting to find a way to reduce objects to "ant size" as well as restore them to normal.

• One night, a strange man approached Johnny and offered him to sell his soul in exchange for Barton's health. Skeptical, Johnny accepted, and the next morning Barton was cured of cancer and gave Johnny his favorite motorcycle and let him go away with his beloved Roxanne.
• Despite the agreement, Barton would die almost instantly afterwards while attempting to set a new world record with a 22-car jump. About to leave Carnival, Johnny heard of his father's death and was devastated and went after the man he made the deal with and discovered that he was a demon, Mephisto.
• That same night, Johnny transformed into Ghost Rider and almost lost his soul to Mephisto, were it not for Roxanne's timely intervention proclaiming her love for him and temporarily driving Mephisto away through her purity of feelings.
• Realizing he could never free himself from his curse, he abandoned the Carnival where he grew up, taking Roxanne with him. The two would continue traveling the West seeking to escape Mephisto and remain safe.
• As he grew up, Kevin Brashear (16) fell in love with his father's work, Blue Marvel, and became his partner in Adam's countless adventures over the years.
• Stark Industries designs the Helicarrier designs for SHIELD.
• After months of work Henry Pym finally discovered what he called Pym Particles, which at the time he distilled into a chemical formula that, when exposed to the skin, caused objects to shrink in size, and a specially made antidote could restore them to normal.
• After successfully shrinking a chair, Pym presented his discovery to the Scientific Research and Development Committee.
• By displaying the shrunken chair, Pym's ideas were ridiculed, and when he accidentally mentioned a possible military application for his formula, the humanitarian committee rejected his grant.
• Leaving the committee, he met with Dr. Vernon Van Dyne, who wanted to obtain funding for his own invention, a gamma ray beam that he believes would allow him to contact worlds other than Earth's solar system.
• Normally accompanying her father to scientific meetings, Janet Van Dyne (20) met up with Pym.
• Expressing her attraction to the young man, she invited him to dinner when they first met and he quickly declined, saying he already had someone he was interested in.
1987 -
• (EVENT Iron Man - Incomplete)
• (February)
• While in the Middle East for a field test of a prototype weapon, Tony Stark (23) was kidnapped by the terrorist faction known as the Ten Rings and was seriously injured.
• Faced with imminent death and desperate to survive, Tony found the inspiration he needed to create the miniaturized arc reactor to power an electromagnet that held shrapnel from his heart.
• However, the arc reactor had another purpose - it would power Tony's escape plan and revolutionize modern weaponry.
• After coming of age, Angelo Unuscione (18) moved to North America and legally changed his name to Gunther Bain. He used his ability to create a virtually impenetrable force field to launch a career as a flamboyant and invincible costumed fighter known by the stage name Unus the Untouchable.
• Upon completion, Natalia Romanoff (25) was injected with the "Soviet Spider-Soldier Serum." Survival was not guaranteed, but she proved capable of handling it.
• Transformed into Black Widow, Natalia joined the service as an assassin, seductress, spy and saboteur. She often worked alone, but also carried out missions with other Black Widows and the Winter Soldier, with whom she began a secret relationship.
• (X-Men - Iceman)
• May 5 - Bobby Drake's powers manifested again during his 10th birthday. He accidentally froze his pool while his parents were cooking burgers; when they returned to the yard, they found their son skating on the frozen water.
• William and Madeline immediately knew that their son was something different than they thought, something more like the superhumans appearing on TV lately. Concerned for his safety, they told Bobby to be careful with his powers because others would fear them.
• Bobby, on the other hand, found the idea of being a "superhero" very exciting. After this accident he began to train his powers in secret and little by little he learned how to cover his body with snow.
• (June)
• Tony Stark returns to the United States.
• After Iron Man's debut, Clint Barton (21) decided to become a vigilante, using his archery skills to fight crime.
• Just a few months after his debut as "Hawkeye" Clint Barton was handpicked by SHIELD director Colonel Nick Fury for his skills, becoming one of SHIELD's most skilled agents, where he served alongside Agent Mockingbird, Barbara Morse (23).
1988 -
• (February)
• Warren Worthington III (12) was enrolled at St. Joe's Catholic School. There he continued to excel in sports, breaking the high jump record.
• Despite being a promising and intelligent student at the age of fourteen, Henry McCoy's mutation made him a target for bullies; even teachers often ignored him.
• One day, when he was being harassed by some of his classmates, Henry was pushed into traffic. He was saved from a fatal accident thanks to his agility. Upon witnessing this, the coach of the local football team became determined to make Henry play for the school team.
• Henry became an instant star on the field, winning game after game and becoming a rising star.
• (EVENT - Ant Man)
• After many more tests, Henry Pym (25) decided to foolishly test the Pym Particles on himself, shrinking in size, despite protests from his girlfriend Maria Trovaya.
• He ended up being chased by a mouse and ran out of the house, where he stumbled upon an anthill. Fortunately he was found by Maria, who took him back into the house and helped him find the growth formula to restore himself to normal.
• To celebrate his victory in his project, Maria took him out to dinner.
• At the restaurant, the two were interrupted by Janet van Dyne, who was surprised to discover that Pym actually had someone in his life. Annoyed by Janet's presence, Henry tried to expel her, but changed his mind when he saw that she was accompanied by Janet's father.
• While Maria was upset about the interruption of her meeting, Pym invited the van Dynes to join them and explained his research, and although Vernon was unimpressed, Janet became even more enamored with Pym, which drew Maria's fury, who left the restaurant without speaking to Pym.
• Confused by the turn of events, Pym tried to talk to Maria, but she ignored him and went home. Embarrassed by her behavior, Janet tried to apologize as well but Pym left angrily.
• For the next few weeks, he did not hear from Maria and continued to study and learn how ants communicated.
• (May)
• Henry Pym then began designing a special communications helmet that allowed him to communicate with ants, as well as a suit woven from Unstable Molecules that protected him from insect bites.
• Testing these new inventions, Pym found himself in danger when he frantically tried to find the proper frequency to make the ants obey his commands.
• An ant failed to fall under his control, and when it attacked, Henry was shocked to discover that although he had shrunk in size, he still retained his average strength that he had at normal height and was easily able to fight the ant.
• Trying to get closer to Henry, Janet offered to finance his research, which made her closer to the scientist, much to Maria Trovaya's anger. Henry, on the other hand, felt a genuine friendship with the young woman and amused her with all his latest ant discoveries.
• Henry first became Ant-Man for the purpose of fighting crime, when he took a government position trying to develop a way to make people immune to radioactivity. The notes on this formula were the target of a group of spies who tied up Henry's colleagues.
• Unwilling to divulge any information, Pym was locked in an office until he was ready to speak. This allowed Henry to use his formula to decrease from size and, like Ant-Man, rescue his colleagues. Using his control helmet, he commanded an army of ants to help untie his fellow scientists and then attacked the spies.
• The spies panicked from all the insect bites and were soon incapacitated and tied up by scientists who had no idea how they broke free or what happened to their captors. Ant-Man silently escaped and returned to his normal size.
• After this, as Ant-Man, Pym established a connection with law enforcement in New York City and developed technology that allowed him to learn about ongoing crimes and police activities through a network of ants.
• (August 6, Saturday)
• (Summers' Incident)
• The Summers family was returning home from a family vacation in Christopher's old private plane.
• Scott (12), Alex (10) and Gabriel (6) were sleeping when the plane caught fire and began to fall. His mother woke them up and tied them to the same parachute, then pushed them out.
• Scott had trouble opening the parachute and they were already very close to the ground. He managed to protect his brothers from the fall, but ended up suffering a major impact, hitting his head on the ground and breaking his legs.
• Upon seeing Scott's injury and Gabriel's dispair, Alex ran to find help. After telling police about the incident and Scott receiving medical help, Alex and Gabriel taken in by different foster families, separated from their older brother.
• The head injury damaged the part of Scott's brain that would allow him to control his optic blasts. When he woke up in the hospital, he felt extreme sensitivity to light and intense pain in his eyes.
• (August 11, Wednesday)
• A few days later Scott still didn't know where his brother was and couldn't call his grandparents to let them know his situation.
• Enraged, he accidentally launched an optical blast that destroyed several floors and the hospital's roof. Soon afterwards he fell into a coma.
• Alex Summers was placed in the care of Andrew and Joanna Blanding, being raised alongside their daughter Haley. Alex was pressured to act as a replacement for Todd, the couple's son who had died years ago, which he tried to do as best he could.
• For a long time, he was frustrated because no one had information about his parents or siblings, and he could not communicate with his grandparents, often failing to remember where they lived.
• After a few years, Alex and Gabriel grew up and gradually both of them forgot about their old life, becoming unaware of the existence of their own powers.
• Charles Xavier (50) and Moira MacTaggert heard about Scott Summers and visited him in hospital, hoping he would wake up one day so they could take him to Graymalkin Manor.
• (August 20, Saturday)
• While on leave from the United States Marine Corps, Frank Castle (32) met a woman named Maria, with whom he instantly fell in love.
• (September 1, Thursday)
• (EVENT Ant-Man and Wasp)
• By this time, Henry Pym was developing a way to graft a wasp's wings and antenna onto a human body, which would protrude from their bodies once shrunk by Pym Particles
• When Dr. Vernon Van Dyne perfected a gamma-ray beam device, there was an accident in his laboratory. A fire broke out, causing an explosion that collapsed the entire building beneath Vernon.
• Although the authorities warned Janet that it was an accident, she was not completely convinced and called Henry Pym for help. As Ant-Man, Pym investigated the murder and was surprised by Van Dyne's bravery in wanting to avenge his father when they discovered that Vernon had in fact been murdered.
• Pym and Maria became closer to Janet during her time of mourning, as they continued to deal with crime on the streets.
• Deciding to reveal his secret identity to Van Dyne, Henry developed a suit with synthetic wings and antennae and began experimenting directly on Janet, exposing her to Pym particles and teaching her how to use the Wasp suit.
• (October 11, Tuesday)
• As a crime-fighting duo, Ant-Man and the Wasp have fought many villains. The Wasp, with her smart and cheerful attitude, proved crucially beneficial to Ant-Man's career, as she displayed masterful competence as a superhero.
• Additionally, in between their adventures, Janet constantly expressed her desire to become romantically involved with Pym, but continued to be rejected because he was still in love with Maria.
• With a growing reputation as a charismatic celebrity, the Wasp also frequently entertained fans, hospital patients, and even Henry Pym and Maria Trovaya, telling them various fantasy stories
• (November)
• Three months after they met, Maria informed Frank Castle that she was pregnant, offering him the chance to leave as she was willing to raise the child alone, only for Castle to propose to her, resulting in their marriage. Months later their first daughter, Lisa, was born.

Been very busy, but I talked to the guys. Markus was pretty easily able to make a little GPS tracking bug that connects to the WEB app. Even made it shaped like a little spider.
Also talked to pete about all this and if he has any ideas as to suspects for who could be this goblin dude. Gave me a short list, but Alchemax has so many enemies that really it could be anyone.
•Phillip Urich; 'Daily Bugle' Journalist with a particular grudge and focus on doing Alchemax hit pieces. Apparently, his uncle was involved in some accident when working for Alchemax.
•Roderick Kingsley; Former Founder and CEO of local business 'Kingsley Pharmacy'. His business went under shortly after Alchemax came to portland. Couldn't compete with them.
•Dr. Mendel Stromm; Former business partner and engineer in the early days of Oscorp. He was arrested and imprisoned for embezzlement.
Dunno why any of these guys would all of a sudden start attacking Alchemax NOW, but suppose I finally have something to work off of. Gonna see about tracking these guys and looking for any suspicious activity. If that turns up nothing, then at least next time the goblin shows up I can hopefully place that tracker on him.

Headcanons about Norman Osborn and Mendel Stromm Working Together (Spider-Man 2002)
A/N: Hey guys. I’m sorry it’s been so long since I posted anything. If you remember, I mentioned awhile ago that I was working on more posts about Norman Osborn. This is actually an idea someone asked me to write about. It’s a short headcanon about what it was like for Norman and Mendel Stromm to work together. I hope you like it 🙂
Sometimes it could be difficult for Doctor Stromm to work with Norman. Without realizing it, sometimes Norman was so determined for his projects to work, it was very demanding for Doctor Stromm especially when the general from the military would ask for results about his projects.
Neither of them liked the general, they didn’t care for how the man demanded information about their projects. Just because the military was providing their funding, it didn’t mean the two scientists and their colleagues deserved to be in constant fear of losing funding and their jobs.
Doctor Stromm always worked very diligently on research and developing technologies for the military. Norman admired that about him. Mendel also had to be Norman’s voice of reason at times, talking him out of ending up in a bad situation. Most of the time it worked.
But it unfortunately didn’t work with the new performance enchantment formula they were working on. Norman was worried about losing funding, and he became frustrated when Mendel told the general they would need to go back to the drawing board. They had been working on that formula for months.
“Mendel, I don’t understand why your so concerned about one test going wrong. The others had no negative side effects, and rest of the staff agree it’s safe for human testing.” “Norman, you know how negatively those mice reacted. Think of what might happen if we allow it to be tested on human beings. If a person became that violent and harmed someone, it would mean the end of Oscorp, we would lose our licenses, and never be able to work in science again! We would lose everything we worked for, and be doing the exact opposite of the oath we took. We just can’t take that risk.” “You’re right. That’s why I’m going to test it on myself.”
Mendel tried to talk Norman out of it. But no matter what he said, Norman was determined to do anything he could to continue receiving the military’s funding, even if it killed him. While Norman survived, it cost Mendel his life.

All Hallows Eve:
Children are out trick-or-treating, and among them is young Normie Osborn who has been taken out by his babysitter while his mother Liz Osborn and her boyfriend Foggy Nelson are at a party at the Daily Bugle. They bump into a man who is impressed by Normie's goblin mask and gives him some candy. As they go on their way, Normie recognizes the man as his grandfather.
Elsewhere, Peter Parker is rushing across the city in order to get to his wife, who is giving birth to their child. He is blaming himself for not being there after getting dragged into a fight with Mendel Stromm along with Ben Reilly. When arriving at the hospital his panic and the indifferent staff get him turned around and he feels utterly lost trying to find his wife. That's when he is found by the doctor who helped with the childbirth, Doctor Folsome. He explains that food poisoning somehow triggered early labor. Folsom also tells Parker that there were some complications in the pregnancy. With his spider-sense starting to buzz, Peter begins demanding to know what is going on and where his wife is. Peter's panicked state leaves him open to being injected with a drug by Doctor Folsome. As Peter begins to black out, Folsom assures Peter that the injection is not lethal as he is wanted alive.
Fifteen Minutes to Midnight
J. Jonah Jameson arrives at the Daily Bugle and just manages to catch the elevator with Joe Robertson and Flash Thompson. Jonah is unhappy that the board of directors has called a meeting so late at night. Joe and Thompson however, are going up to the newsroom for a Halloween party that has been put together for the staff. When they arrive in the bullpen they find Glory Grant, Betty Brant, Ben Urich, Angela Yin, Ken Ellis, Foggy Nelson, and Liz Osborn are all in attendance. The only person who is unaccounted for is Peter Parker, who must be running late, something that doesn't surprise Jameson. However, everyone is wondering who was responsible for this gathering.
Elsewhere, Peter Parker wakes up in a dark room and discovers that he is wearing his original Spider-Man costume. His captor, holding out a pumpkin bomb, tells Peter that the pumpkin bomb is emitting a gas that will keep Parker disorientated until he is ready to get his final revenge. In the darkness, Peter can see that his attacker is wearing a Green Goblin costume and at first he thinks that somehow Harry Osborn, even though he is dead. That's when his captor walks into the light he is revealed to be Norman Osborn. Peter cannot believe it, as he believes that Norman Osborn has been dead for years, impaled on his own Goblin Glider on the day he murdered Gwen Stacy. To prove that he is not a clone or some kind of impostor, Norman rips open his shirt revealing a cross-shaped scar marking where he was impaled during his last battle with Spider-Man.
Back at the Daily Bugle, suspicions continue to mount as everyone notices that the paper's night staff is nowhere to be found. Adding to their paranoia is the discovery that the phone lines are dead, the elevators have been shut down, and all of the emergency exits have been locked, effectively trapping Jonah and the others in the Bugle's office. While at a sports bar in downtown Manhattan, Arthur Stacy is meeting with Detectives Francis Tork, Connor Trevan and Lou Snider. Arthur explains that he has come back to New York after hearing of the recent discovery of a skeleton in a Spider-Man costume. Stacy has come to believe that Spider-Man murdered someone and intends to find out. He has sought out the aid of these three detectives as they have all worked closely with the wall-crawler in the past.
Meanwhile, Norman Osborn mocks Peter Parker, deducing that his old foe is worried about his wife and their unborn child. Peter then asks how Norman managed to survive being impaled with his Goblin Glider. Norman gleefully explains that the Goblin formula that gave him his powers also gifted him with a healing factor that allowed him to recover from the otherwise fatal wound. He continues explaining what happened after his apparent demise, Norman begins putting on his Green Goblin costume. He tells Parker that he woke up in the morgue to see his son Harry bribing the coroner to alter the reports. Norman killed a homeless man who was put in place of his own body and is the corpse that was buried in his grave. He intended to strike at Peter right away, but he later discovered his son had found his Green Goblin gear. Thinking his son would finally become a man, Norman decided to fade into the background and give his son a chance to succeed. Norman spend the ensuing years carving a criminal empire. When Harry died recently, Norman blamed Spider-Man and decided to come back. Peter demands to know what Norman wants, and Osborn explains that he wants to take everything Peter Parker has: his friends, his family, and lastly his life.
At the Daily Bugle, the staff has decided to try to get the attention of people in the neighboring windows in order to get free. Suspecting that something is up, Ben Urich begins working on a story so he doesn't miss a possible scoop. Looking out one of the windows, Flash Thompson bumps into Betty Brant. However, it is not the happy reunion he was looking for, as Betty reminds him that their relationship was a long time ago and very much over, prompting Flash to find another window to look out of. this is witnessed by Liz Osborn who is surprised to see Flash react that way, as it was much different than the Flash she knew in high school. After being introduced to Liz's friend Foggy Nelson, Flash explains his troubled relationship with Betty Brant. The two of them remark how much they have both changed since they were kids and they wish Peter was there to reminisce with them.
Revelations
Still at Norman Osborn's mercy, Peter tries to explain that Osborn has the wrong person. However, Osborn knows that Peter is going to stay he is a clone and gloats over how deeply he was involved in the events in Peter's life. That's when the Goblin pulls Ben Reilly out of the swirling smoke around them. Osborn then explains that he was manipulating everyone behind the scenes from the Jackal down to the and Seward Trainer, all in an effort to trick and confuse both Parker and Ben Reilly. In reality, Peter Parker was always the genuine article and Ben Reilly was the clone. Now fully in costume, the Green Goblin tosses Ben Reilly into Peter Parker and mounts his Goblin Glider and prepares to fly across the way to the Daily Bugle building. When Peter tries to stop him he is blasted and left falling down the side of the building. However, Parker manages to break his fall with a web-line. Still groggy from the gas, he can only watch helplessly as the Green Goblin flies over to the Bugle Building.
Back inside the building, Ben Reilly comes around and witnesses the Goblin flying away. Having heard none of what was revealed earlier, he is completely confused by the whole scenario. Still, he tries to struggle to his feet, but after the beating he received, Ben collapses to the floor again. His mind then drifts back to earlier that night when he was at the mercy of Norman Osborn.
Then
Ben had just been blasted by Norman Osborn who then loads Reilly onto a helicopter. The whole time Norman mocked Spider-Man, calling him a clone. Thinking this is yet another lie and manipulation, Spider-Man lashes out refusing to allow Norman Osborn to cause more grief for Peter Parker and his wife Mary Jane. Knocking themselves back outside of the helicopter, Norman beats Ben into submission. He then reveals that he is coming to the climax of a scheme that was years in the making. Not only is he going to utterly destroy Peter Parker, but he has also tricked all of his friends to meet at the offices of the Daily Bugle.
Now
… His recollection last but mere moments and the Green Goblin is still flying toward the Daily Bugle. Once again, Ben Reilly tries to must the strength to stop his mortal foe, as the lives of his friends and family are on the line. Helping Peter back up into the building, Ben warns his "brother" that Osborn has rigged the Bugle with explosives that are set to go off at midnight. Ben tries to get up to go after the Green Goblin, but Peter points out that he suffered a savage beating and is in no shape to go after their foe. With no other choice, Peter decides to fall back into the role of a hero and swings off as the original Spider-Man once again.
Across the street at the Daily Bugle, everyone there is shocked when the Green Goblin comes crashing in through the window. When J. Jonah Jameson recognizes Norman Osborn's voice, the Goblin is flattered and drags the newspaper publisher back outside. When Spider-Man tries to save Jonah, only to get his hands blasted by the Goblin's gauntlet blasters. This causes the web-slinger to let go of his webbing and fall down to the street below. The Green Goblin tells Jameson that he will die, but not yet and carries him back inside. Norman then confronts the window of his son, Liz Osborn, and slaps her across the face for encouraging his son Harry to be a weakling. As the rest of the Bugle staff watches in horror, the Green Goblin is then pulled back outside by Spider-Man who recovered from the fall. As the two eternal foes fight it out, people on the street begin to panic. Seeing this from across the street, Ben decides he can't just sit back and do nothing and begins to crawl down the side of the building.
At that moment, at the Daily Grind, Devon Lewis catches a news report about the battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin and decides to go and see it, despite the protests from his mother, Shirley Washington. Also seeing this is Arthur Stacy and the three police detectives who also begin rushing to the scene. Back uptown, Spider-Man dodges a barrage of pumpkin bombs as the Goblin rants about restoring his good name. However, Spider-Man refuses to stop until Norman finally tells him what happened to his wife and child. By this time, Ben Reilly has forced himself into the Daily Bugle newsroom, creating an escape for the others. Ben stays behind, using his spider-sense to locate all of the bombs that were planted by Norman Osborn. Flash Thompson comes back for Reilly, one of the bombs begins to go off. His spider-sense warning him of this, Ben shields Flash from the blast. Although the force of the explosion knocks out Thompson, he is alive. Unfortunately for Ben, he was seriously injured by the shrapnel. After binding his wounds, Ben decides to take the remaining bombs back to their own.
Triumph and Tragedy
Back outside, the Green Goblin continues to toss a barrage of pumpkin bombs and razor bats. He is furious how the wall-crawler continues to stand no matter what he throws at him. Spider-Man manages to kick the Goblin off his glider, explaining that he does it out of spite. Peter then pulls off both of their masks, saying that this battle is not just a war between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, but between Peter Parker and Norman Osborn. Osborn begins to buckle under the stress of Parker's resistance and is knocked down by a single blow. That's when Ben arrives with the live bombs and asks Peter to do something about them. Putting his mask back on, Spider-Man prepares to dispose of the bombs when Norman activates the remote on his Goblin Glider. Seeing that it is heading on a collision course with Spider-Man, Ben Reilly leaps in its way, getting impaled through the back by the device. The glider then carries Ben over the rooftop where he falls to the ground below. Horrified by this, Spider-Man is caught off guard by the Green Goblin, who resumes his attack. With his lightning-fast reflexes, Spider-Man tosses the live bombs at the Green Goblin, catching the villain in the explosion. Set aflame, the Green Goblin curses Spider-Man and vows to return even though he goes crashing down onto the street and is seemingly vanquished in a massive explosion.
Spider-Man then rushes down to the street to check on Ben who is already being examined by paramedics. They tell the wall-crawler that there is nothing they can do to save Ben. Still clinging to live, Ben tells Spider-Man that -- clone or no clone -- Peter has earned the right to be Spider-Man. His final words to Peter are for him to raise his daughter well and to tell her about her "Uncle Ben". That's when Spider-Man notices something abnormal about Ben's arm and realizes the truth. He quickly scoops up Reilly's lifeless body and carries it up to a nearby rooftop where it finally dissolves into powder, the end result of instant cellular degeneration when one of the Jackal's clones dies. This proves to Spider-Man that he is the real Peter Parker after all. This does little to change the mood, and the wall-crawler begins to mourn the death of the man he had come to call his brother. Changing back into Peter Parker, the web-slinger rushes to the hospital to find out what happened to Mary Jane.
This time, he finds the room where his wife is resting after her complicated childbirth. There, she tries to tell him that their baby girl was stillborn. Peter already knows this and tells Mary Jane that they will get past this all the tears and pain and their love will see them through this tragedy and make them stronger than ever.
Epilogue One:
Several days after the death of Ben Reilly, the Parkers have a wake in the home of Peter's Aunt May. There they are gathered by friends and acquaintances of both Peter Parker and Ben Reilly. Among the mourners is mobster Jimmy-6, who approaches the Parkers and Mary Jane's Aunt Anna. He offers his condolences, telling them that Ben once saved his life. He then asks to talk to Peter Parker in private, Peter agrees and the pair walks out onto the front porch of the house. He tells Peter that he meant it when he said that he would do anything for the Parkers. He also vows to kill the Green Goblin if he turns up alive, and he will kill Spider-Man as well if he learns that the wall-crawler has anything to do with Ben's death. Peter tells Jimmy that he wishes he could talk about this more but he has one last thing to do for Ben.
A short time later on the Brooklyn Bridge, Spider-Man holds an urn containing Ben Reilly's ashes. He says his final farewells, saying that Ben changed his life forever and he will remember him always.
Epilogue 2
As Ben Reilly's ashes spread across Manhattan, engineers are assessing the damage done to the Daily Bugle during the battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. While their backs are turned, the Green Goblin emerges from the rubble and murders the two men in order to cover up the fact that he survived. As it turns out, the Green Goblin planned for such an outcome from their battle. As he strips off his costume, Norman Osborn leaves so he can prepare for what comes next…

My first thought was that it was Mendel Stromm, Robot Master. A classic Spider-Man villian, who controls technology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the question is...who the heck is behind this?
The purple boots and silhouette immediatey make me think Green Goblin, but Norman was still de-Goblin-ed at the time someone tried to have Tombstone and the other crime lords assasinated, kick starting this whole thing
It's someone Silvermane recognises which suggests this is a pre-existing character
They don't seem overly serious
And they're either good with tech or they have some kind of power to control tech given how they took over Silvermane's body here
Anyone got any guesses?
