Ime the cultural zeitgeist of dogs being masculine and cats being feminine is so backwards to me

As silly and shallow as it's meant to be, I think it could easily be reversed completely

-intact female dogs are a bigger cultural statement. I rarely hear anyone be called a horn dog, yet bitch is the favorite word of millions of people

-cats have a similar pallet to the men who are desperately afraid of being seen as taking anything from women.

Cats eat protein powder croutons and potted mystery meat. If they are being really good, they will take treats from human fodder, but only if it's unwanted like collageny organ meat. I do have one cat that eats dried pasta. But ONLY dry

Dogs love to eat the above, but I think a lot of the things that people INTEND for their dogs to eat are a lot more fruity and fun than what most people would set aside for average man guy.

-bathing. Cats feel that scented shampoos make them stand out and vulnerable. So your only realistic option is extensively coaxing them into being dusted with unscented baking soda and brushed. It's easy to compare this behavior to my ex military family member's, who wouldn't feel comfortable bathing and would only wash if they had their own bare bones shower stalls in the basement or shed

Pet dogs, on the other hand, vastly benefit from and frequently enjoy the privilege of being bathed like an infant with no stature or ego, which isn't technically feminine but it's also not masculine either and that's the point

I forget what else I had in mind. Ime the only real distinction between dogs and other household pets is that dogs are draft animals. But they all love pats and organ meat and will gladly sample things that aren't supposed to be eaten, so be careful!
