I don’t know how u still think I’m the best after all this time and still want to brush my hair at night while we talk about the day and call me beautiful when I just wake up and am walking around like a disheveled bridge troll. How you’d stop whatever you’re doing to help fix whatever I’m struggling with. How you encourage me to do anything that makes me happy. How you’d hate it but you’d let me go if that’s what I wanted/needed to be happy. How you wouldn’t put a living soul above me and choose me even on bad days, days I definitely wouldn’t chose me, to the detriment of yourself and at my absolute worst you still wouldn’t want to fall asleep next to anybody else. I’m still it somehow. Still make sure I’m always safe and happy every single day. I’ve matured fucking immensely the last couple years and no longer fully allow that, and I bring you back to balance. I always bring you to balance. Scales and all that. I can also still make you laugh and you love my weirdness. The last two years have been extremely tough and in ways only you truly know about and you’ve been there every step of the way. Grown so much since we were those kids, but we’re also still the same in some ways. Still got growing to do, together and separately. I ask all the time why you love me and it’s always the same answer. I know that you deserve better but you haven’t decided that to be true. You’d walk through a flame engulfed building to find me and make sure I was okay even if I was the one holding the match. No one loves me that much. Well I love you too - and I always will no matter what.

One thing that annoys me about boruto is that naruto ended with the confirmation that Sasuke was *right* but that his *methods* weren't the best way to achieve what he wants

Naruto agrees that shinobi society needs to be massively overhauled, he just thinks it can be achieved without mass death or at the cost of Sasuke. Youre not supposed to end Naruto believing that Konoha's system was correct.

You're supposed to leave the manga *knowing that Sasuke's beliefs were correct, it was his methods which weren't the best path forward*

Naruto wants to take the pacifist path of talking and communication, but he doesn't fundamentally disagree with Sasuke.

But then we get to boruto and what do we have? The same system except the villages get along now. Great. So different. Also for some reason Sasuke is willing to die for the sake of Konoha.

You're supposed to end Naruto knowing that sasuke was correct about shinobi society and hoping that Naruto will bring about change even if sasuke doesn't stay (his """redemption""" tour which was unneeded because he was the fucking victim) but boruto shows us a society where nothing has changed

I'm new here but very curious about your upbringing being spent more on the sea than on land!! how did that come about?

my dad is a captain and my grandfather owned a sailing school, so my first sailing trip was when i was one month old! my dad just used to hang me from the ceiling while steering the ship while i slept, rocked by the waves. this has given me the superpower of never having been motion sick in my life - you have to start early, i guess.

when my brother and me were little, we spent almost all our summers and autumns sailing on the baltic sea with my grandfather's students. these summers are some of my most treasured memories, sitting on the jib with my cousins and watching the baltic islands pass by. i always loved numbers and graphs so my dad taught me traditional navigation, and i have been yelling at grown men telling them to go where i want them to while waving a compass at them since i was eight, which i think really shines some light on adult me's authority issues.

we still go sailing every summer, but on a smaller boat, and it's very often just my immediate family or my brother and me sailing up to denmark or sweden for a few days. my brother is studying to be a captain and uses our excursions for navigation practice, so i have now become the grown man steering the ship getting yelled at and threatened with a sextant, so it all comes back around.
