So Sophie is totally the mom. Everyone calls her for help and whatnot when she is away and she totally mothers everyone by helping Eliot with homework and getting Hardison to his appointments on time when he gets distracted by games. She is always there for Parker even though she goes to Nate more times that Sophie.

Nate is the dad, not the best of them but he tries and he is always fixing everyone's mess and solving problems between Eliot and Hardison who often butt heads-Parker is a daddys girl and he thinks she is his little angel.

Hardison is the oldest son who plays around a lot even though he is in college. He likes to play games and his roommate (Winn....?) introduced him to Brainy(Querl Dox) and Nia -who knows enough memelore to be cool in Hardisons book- introduced him to Lena and they dated before they decided they are better off friends.

Eliot is the middle kid who gets his anger issues from Nate. He goes PUMCH. He also is very protective of his siblings even if he is rough around the edges. (He and Alex dated mayhaps?)

Parker is the baby of the fam and she gets around with everything. Nate has often found her hanging from he monkey bars asleep and has carried her back to the house (she, Lucy and Kara are so totally bff's 'cause they are all a bit weird)

On re-read, the only joke I really object to is Gideon saying "jail for Mother."

Like how does Gideon know that reference? It certainly doesn't read like a natural thing that she might have just happened to say in context. Harrow's "Someone's crying, Lord" does sound like something she coincidentally just happened to say, which makes the next part genuinely funny: "but he just made a nonsense sound beneath his breath, a mumbled word that you didn’t recognise." (It's kumbaya, for those of you who were never forced to learn that song.) This is funny AND it works in-universe.

But jail for Mother? Gideon would've had to know the meme. Like, what, did John resurrect Miette? Did he put "jail for mother" into the liturgy? I guess I wouldn't put it past him.

Or is this, like, a clue? Is Gideon somehow tapped into John's knowledge of pre-Resurrection memelore? Seems like a real stretch. I remain grumpy about this joke.

Holy shit that was the ending? That was the ending!!!

I need the next book right now.

Meme epigenetice, covirusi hibrizi si aparitia primei epidemii hibride bio-memetice

Inca din 1976 de cind, Richard Dawkins intodus in cartea sa "Gena egoista" termenul de mema ca unitate ipotetica de transmitere a informatiei culturale, similar modului in care o gena transmite informatia biologica, a devenit evident ca cea mai buna analogie se regaseste la nivelul virusilor in raport cu ideile extremiste. Virusii culturali, pot produce viroze culturale sau memetice similar felului in care virusii biologici produc viroze biologice, am si discutat acest fenomen in contextul votului ca vaccin anti-extremism.

Exista insa o serie de factori care nu sint genetici si care pot influenta activitatea si expresia genelor. Acesti factori se numesc epigenetici. De mai multa vreme urmaresc fenomenul memelor anti-vaccinare si exista niste caracteristici epigenetice ale acestuia care merita studiate mai cu atentie. Astfel exista o categorie speciala de virusi care se numesc covirusi. Acesti virusi au doua componente care trebuie sa fie prezente si active simultan ca virusul sa se manifeste. In mod normal ambele sint biologice insa e posibil ca epidemia de rujeola sa fie primul exemplu de covirus hibrid memetic-biologic.

Care este ipoteza. Virusul rujeolic este practic inert in populatia vaccinata. Vaccinarea este un proces prin care organismul este instruit sa produca anti-corpi impotriva virusului. Vaccinul este insa eficient doar daca este administrat prin cooperarea gazdei motiv pentru care vaccinarea este un fenomen memetic, adica depinde de mecanisme culturale simple de a convinge gazdele sa se vaccineze si mai ales sa isi vaccineze copii. Pentru ca virsul sa se propage intr-o populatie instruita memetic sa se vaccineze, e nevoie sa dezvolte o componenta memetica care sa actioneze impotriva vaccinarii. Astfel virsul rujeolic devine in fapt un covirus care are nevoie de a se manifesta in populatie de doua compnente, una biologica (anti-celulara) si una epigenetica, memetica (anti-vaccinare). Componenta memetica a virusului infecteaza mintea gazdelor pentru a le impiedica sa se protejeze prin vaccinare si astfel componenta biologica sa poata infecta gazda sau membrii familiei dependenti de gazda pentru vaccinare. E posibil ca acest nou covirus rujeolic hibrid, bio-memetic sau bio-cultural, sa anunte inceputul unei noi perioade de evolutie in care internetul sa devina un factor epigenetic tot mai pronuntat.

E doar un exercitiu de brain-dumping dar merita investigat mai serios.
