Whew okay so Doll Feelings is out now, it’s obviously my most personal & poetic song…I recorded this track in my home studio while recovering from Covid- a really rough low point for me personally. I hoped that me recording with the irritability & weariness from Covid would amplify my tone in conveying the feeling of being “so over it”. The inspiration for Doll Feelings was really just my experiences with moving through life, especially with PTSD, ADHD, & Persistent Depressive Disorder. This song actually took me the longest to write, because I wanted it to be linear like most of my work, but my experiences aren’t linear. So when I realized that, I was able to complete Doll Feelings. I love that I was able to convey a bit of everything that inspired the track (depressive spoken word, A hypervigilant middle verse, the erratic tone progression, etc..) within a short amount of time. There’s multiple moments where the lyrics are meant to sound like 2 things (caw/call, fit/fix, too many/20). That phonetic ambiguity added another layer of depth to a song I already felt was too deep. I wanted people to feel like they’re inside my head, & I think I executed that well. I hope whoever chooses to listen, enjoys this song🎀🩷🧘🏽‍♀️

Sir Denzel Curry, wherever you are, PLZ do what you have to do to submit this song for best melodic rap performance! We have to see what music videos drop across all genres, but this clip may have won best music video in all of Florida's hoods already. You have one here, champ! PUT THE ROCKET ON HER!!
To me, the best part of this clip is when ol boy is vibing out and someone bumps into him and makes him spill his drink. Such an authentic moment. Someone in the comments section of this video on YouTube said this song sounds like Denzel was tired of seeing a bunch on men in the audience when he performed at his shows. I can see that! The girlies will definitely be playing this in the car on the way to and from work. Could also be on the rotation when the girls are hitting the town or on the road for Friendsgiving.
The clip itself is a straight to the point and beautiful strip club piece. The song is radio ready. Hope to hear it in my car soon!

'Ye - Bully
Tumblr media
A blazing-fast 23 minutes of ultra-consistent and peak-driven music makes a serious argument for the best album Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) has ever-released. Nearly drumless, the sampling plays out like a greatest hits of songs you know dearly ("Close To You;" "You Can't Hurry Love;") combined with crate-digging rarities that fans of Ye's sampling have come to expect from his most classic projects.
There is also a real vulnerability and softness to what many may perceive as a tough and hard exterior. Named Bully, this album is an exploration of the truth felt beneath the hurt that a bully projects and inflicts onto others. As a result, Ye's Bully creates a truly surprising and unexpected listen -- delighting fans and stunning critics alike.
From the gentle opening samples of "Preacher Man," to the longing cries of "White Lines" (where the silence between subdued, autotuned vocals becomes almost too much to bear) Bully intricately begs to be understood; almost hauntingly so. This is an album which demands your attention -- and rewards it.
There is a refreshing mix of styles -- including French and Cuban influence -- before the album culminates in an extremely creative remix of Lou Reed's "Walk On The Wild Side." Here, 'Ye has turned the quiet, understated opening (of such a massive song) into the backbone of a triumphant finale -- which is in itself, quite the feat. His singing suggests the ending -- or beginning -- of a long journey home, with a self-awareness and heaviness only the most traversed of travelers can empathize with.
Bully is a masterclass phenom in creativity; it's jam-packed with a multitude of new ideas that ebb and flow with incredible sequencing. Its brevity mirrors its content and subject matter, which channels a heart heavy-with-burden which longs for a cathartic release; Bully relentlessly reaches towards that freedom. This is the music of an unbreakable resolve; of mental resilience in a war against one's doubt. Listen: "This One Here"
