Oh, this was a mean one, my friend...nevertheless...

Here are 250 words of sadness and anger.

Had there ever been such a deafening, breathless silence in the dread stronghold, Mairon wondered, struggling to keep his head high as he approached his Master’s looming presence carefully.

“What is it?” The wild, frantic, dangerously volatile expression in Melkor’s eyes almost made his faithful lieutenant crumble, but the prideful Maia stood firm despite the suppressed tremor that threatened to snap his straight spine.

“Glaurung—“ 

How was one supposed to announce something as unspeakable as the demise of a firstborn to the very entity who had been the mighty dragon’s genitor and carer?

Didn’t the eerie quiet, weighing like an oppressive, poisonous cloud on their home, express the terrible lack better than any number of agitated words ever could?

Slowly, Melkor’s lids closed, drawing a delicate curtain over his luminous eyes to obscure the withering flash of heartbroken understanding and the depthless, demented rage that mercilessly banished all vestiges of love and tenderness from his mind and essence.

“Who? How?”

“Húrin’s son,” Mairon spat, bitter hatred coating his leaden tongue, making him gag. “He’ll die, of course.”

“Of course,” Melkor smiled sharply, but there was no joy or even satisfaction in the cruel curve of his frosty lips.

“Mankind shall pay,” Mairon promised. “Even if it takes another age, I’ll avenge your act of creation—our project of love—by robbing them of their children, their most valued creations, and their very hope.”

“Find someone who was there,” Melkor hissed. “I want to know exactly how our son died."

Not that I’m aware of. I don’t recall anyone in my family tree from eons back having this name, so probably not.

Hmm, I can’t really remember exactly, but I think it was my last mental breakdown loooool. Life’s hard, man, sometimes ya just gotta cry.

Absolutely not.

Only all the time.

Their attitude - I work with people daily and like to think I can get a good read on people and their vibe.

Melkor has summoned Vanimore to the throneroom, the Valas broad back is to the Maia as he drawls out. "It came to my attention that the hot springs that provide hot water to the whole fortress were 'acting funny' and upon my investigation I came across traces of your magic. --Care to explain? And don't try to say that it was just a joke because I Am Not Laughing" The Vala grits out and turns sharply, brows furrowed, anger clear in his face that's stained in a lovely shade of petal pink

the rattling and clinking of decorative chains come to a halt as vanimóre stands before the vala. he already had a hunch on what this sudden summoning to the throne room entailed.

standing with his arms crossed over his chest, the maia keeps a straight expression. which was quite difficult when melkor spun around to look at him with such anger — he almost wished to burst out laughing then and there at the sight of pink across his face.

“I haven't any idea of what you speak, my lord.” lies. he was well aware that the waters now pooled with zombie frogs and stained crimson. he had attempted to simply prank mairon — he didn't expect it to affect the entire water supply.

“might you enlighten me?” it takes everything in him not to double over laughing when he spots one of those wonderful frogs creeping out of melkor's hair.

5 Foods: 4 you love & 1 you hate

Hmm, love is a strong word and my relationship with food is complicated XD I mostly just view it as fuel to survive so I'm indifferent as to what it consists of, though obviously I prefer if it tastes good. But here are four foods I will gravitate towards if presented with them as options:

EGGS -- done any way, sunny-side up, scrambled, omelet, kagiana, hard/soft boiled, etc.; it is my go-to comfort food and one of the only things I can tolerate on days when eating is difficult due to sensory issues or executive dysfunction-induced inability to cook anything more substantial. To the point that my sister is convinced I am a snake :D

Chocolate -- any kind, but partial to milk chocolate with hazelnuts and lila pause but I haven't seen any anywhere for years T_T

Meat -- doesn't matter how it's prepared, as long as it is either goat or lamb. Bonus points for fried liver!

Fried seafood -- specifically fish and squid native to the Aegean. None of this white fish fillet nonsense where it's just a boneless slab, fish should have their heads and tails and their whole bodies intact, it's just so weird to eat them otherwise.

I can't really think of a specific food I hate -- just like I'm not strong on preferences, I'm also not a picky eater -- but I absolutely despise cold food. Food that's meant to be cold (like salads, for instance) gets a pass although it wouldn't be my first choice to consume, but food that is supposed to be hot and isn't should simply just. not exist.

Summer Stories

AN: Have one Angbang for the gang!

Prompt: Ice | Melkor x Mairon Synopsis: As the dark lords enjoy a relaxing summer day, Melkor shares a cold treat with Mairon. Warnings: /

"Not even a spoonful?" Melkor purrs. 

The Lord of Darkness is sitting on a lounger, watching the werewolf pups play in the grass. In one hand he holds a spoon of ice cream, scooped from the sundae he's been consuming, and his other arm is wrapped around his beloved who clings to him as if the summer sun isn't warm enough. 

Mairon purses his lips. 

"It's chocolate," Melkor tempts him. 

"It's cold."

"It will melt."

Graciously, Mairon accepts the treat at last, and it sizzles on his lips and tongue. 

Smiling, Melkor leans in and steals a kiss in turn.
