Tinted my own brows on Friday, today my skin was so depleted that I used my free time in class to give myself a little light acid facial.
Most of what I used today was from Rhonda Allison, and some of what I used is professional grade only so you can’t really get them for home use.
I used the Creamy Milk Cleanser to start with, and the Maui Cleanser for my second. I love the Milk Cleanser, and wanted to see how my sensitive skin would handle the Maui Cleanser since it’s still within the sensitive skin range of products. I actually really liked it! It smelled like a tiki bar (yum). I did feel really dried out and tight after cleansing, but that had more to do with how depleted my barrier was today since I didn’t do a hydrating mask this weekend.
I also wanted to see how my skin would take the Mint Papaya Enzyme since it’s just one step more intense than what I normally use, and it kinda smelled like Vicks. The spa protocol I based my facial on today uses a dermabrasion before the enzyme, but since I was trying out 2 products that were a little more intense than usual for me I felt like it would have been too much. I used an LED light wand here as well to boost my redness control.
For my toner I went with the Mandelic Defense Lotion for hydration and antioxidant support.
For my serums I used the Sensitive Skin Complex, Therapy E, and Amino Peptide Serum. Since my skin was so fragile today I went with all healing boosters, but I was still stinging a fair amount. Nothing I used today after the enzyme should have even tingled at all, which means my barrier is really damaged. I probably shouldn’t have even used an enzyme at all tbh.
For my recovery mask I used the 12 Flower Mask, which I just love because it’s fairly hydrating and has great antioxidant support. It’s one of my go-to’s for everyone since it’s also gentle enough for the most sensitive or traumatized skin. I also used some chilled ice globes for some cool therapy to further combat my chronic redness and calm my skin down before putting any acids.
For my acids I used the Cell Conditioner for some intense healing boost, and Melanin Suppressant for scar reduction. I’m recovering from some hormonal acne and I don’t want them to take forever to heal and then end up scarring bright pink. These professional use only products are gentle enough to be left on the skin and typically shouldn’t cause any redness on their own. They only did on me because I have rosacea and an impaired barrier, but even then most of my visible redness was more from the walk home than anything else.
After giving myself another dose of the same serums as before, I used Dermalogica’s Barrier Repair moisturizer to lock everything in. It’s a professional use only silicone based product from their UltraCalming line, and I really wish it was available on the retail side since it’s so good for chronically traumatized skin like mine. It feels like nothing, lasts pretty much all day, and leaves a lovely matte finish.
SPF is a *must* everyday, but it’s *especially* important when using brightening products like a Melanin Suppressant. Brightening products across the board make your skin more sun sensitive, so you really do have to be on top of your sun protection when you use them or else risk burning even more than usual and making your pigmentation worse. I went with the class favorite, Dermalogica’s Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 from their Age Smart line.
All in all, the goal of this facial was to really boost my healing and scar prevention to repair my barrier and keep those post acne spots healing correctly. I want to do a more intense acid treatment next week, but if my skin stays fragile like this then I’ll just have to do something lighter again.

I want to give a shout out to the resource of melanin. Not enough conversation and studies are being done on the vital power of melanin, a power that has been mostly suppressed and hidden by dominant culture. It is part of my responsibility to make sure that I live in this highly-melanated body to the fullest, to not take any drop of melanin for granted, to spend as much time as I can in the warmest sun, and begin to speak more on the beauty and wisdom of melanin. Melanin literally absorbs sunlight, a cosmic frequency, as oppose to reject it and become inflamed and infected as a result. Pause. This is huge because it means that the more melanin your body holds, the more light your body carries, and the stronger and more regenerative it is. When harnessed appropriately through opening your heart and limiting how much sugar, seed oils, and processed an packaged foods you ingest and become fueled by, you naturally have more awareness and sight, a higher overview of consciousness. And none of this is about "race." It is about light. It is about divine energy. It is about biology. It is what is real and true yet suppressed and hidden. -India Ame'ye, Author

Splatoon oc shiz again~
Just putting it out here, all of my OCs are off different sub species of inklings/octolings inspired by real species!
Gyaru and Ane
The sisters are of a firefly squid x spear squid mix. They do in fact have glow marks only visible at night as well as having more pointy longer and narrower ears than a normal inkling would.
Their squid form looks normal…except the fact that their mantles are elongated making them look larger and narrower than standard.
Juuni
He’s an albino california two-spot octopus. While it is visible that he’s albino with his eye mask being white due to lack of melanin, the two spots are located on his upper back as tattoos shaped like eyes.
His octopus form is also pretty normal, only thing that’s different is that he’s pretty much white and the spots are visible on each side of his head.
Tag
He’s a coconut octopus. His tentacles are relatively curly, even his sideburns are curled up. Though he’s currently rocking the dreadlocks so you don’t get to see his curly tentacles in full glory :(
BUT, his octopus form does show his curly tentacles in full glory so that’s a plus!
Natsu
He’s a blue-ringed octopus. The tip of his tentacles have a slight blu-ish tint to it, along with a more blu-ish tint on the rings/spots on the tentacles.
However when aggressive, Natsu’s tentacles take on a more bright and vibrant blue, his iris will take be visible from a white/transparent to a blue-to-yellow gradient.
His fingertips will also have a blue gradient to it with faint blue veins running through his arms and neck. Not to worry though, Natsu’s relatively docile even though his ass is supposed to eat his damn mandatory suppressing medication that neutralises his venom in his saliva and weakening his muscles and aggressive thoughts
(A HC of mine where species of a venomous and/or aggressive nature are given mandatory suppressants to protect the rest of the citizens of the Splatoon world)
Natsu’s octopus form would just be the standard octo aquatic form but with blue tints to his tentacles and rings.
(WOW THAT IS A LOT OF THE WORD “BLUE” )
Ryōmen and his brothers
Ever wonder why the Yakumans are so fucking huge when you saw the height chart on my other posts? Well here’s your answer: they’re Humbolt squids.
Other than the massive size, they have razor sharp teeth as well as small tiny teeth inside of their suction cups.
Like Natsu, they were supposed to eat medication but them running a family-owned gang and them curating a hidden black market where other Inkopolis citizens can eat…y’know—“premium” fish/squid/octopus meat means that the brothers clearly did not even touch even one pill.
As humbolts, they do in fact eat those “premium” meat and even occasionally meat of other humboldt inklings, in order to maintain their body strength.
(HC part 2, difference between the suppressants venomous species eat vs the ones aggressive/strong species eat is: VS suppressants mainly neutralise the venom mostly and AS suppressants are drowsy and weaken the muscles greatly.)
Their squid form is your standard squid form but WAY bigger, but smaller than kraken size and their suction cups still have those teeth.
Enperry and Emin
They’re both completely the same as Gyaru & Ane.
And if you guys haven’t noticed it yet, the Maguro sisters are in fact the same people as the Kumonryu brothers. They’re just crossdressing as male idols to hide their identity for safety purposes.
Gyaru=Enperry
Emin=Ane
That’s all the OC notes I have (for now), thanks so much if you read all of it <333

LoZ - Are Gerudo Failed Colonizers?
Wait... If my hc is correct & the Gerudo aren't actually from Hyrule, then wouldn't that make the Ganondorfs, all 3 in fact, technically colonizers?? O_O
Like, yeah, the Zonai came to Hyrule too & are thus foreigners as well & Rauru becomes their king, but the difference here is that there were only 2 ½ Zonai left (because otherwise, how tf does Zelda even exist) &, by all accounts, they never seem to suppress the native culture... We also don't know if they even took Hyrule by force!
Compare that to when OoT Ganondorf takes over Hyrule, he absolutely decimates Castle Town & leaves it in ruins. He lays claim to the Hylians' homes. Undead corpses litering the streets.
And one definition is "(of a nation or government) to claim and forcibly take control of (a territory other than its own), usually by sending some of its own people to settle there."
Is that not exactly what Ganondorf has always intended to do? Hasn't that been his goal from day 1??
Why do I see practically no one talking about this!?
Like, even if you think he was justified, that's basically saying that he was justified in stealing others' land.
And even if you try to stretch the definition, this still bears looking into...
Something else I noticed... Everyone who insists that Ganondorf was justified seem to have a running theme of associating the Gerudo with SWANA & the Hylians with white Europeans. And that's... honestly a very shallow perspective. Like, you see a darker-skinned people & a lighter-skinned people & your automatic reaction is that the light-skinned ones are obviously in the wrong??
Hell! The Hylians in the ancient past of TotK weren't even that light-skinned!!
The thing is, while the cultures of these races have some obvious parallels & inspirations to IRL cultures, they are still almost entirely independent of the real world. They aren't going to have the same history & influences & relationships with others as IRL. And, honestly, you really shouldn't expect fantasy cultures in games to be the exact same as in real life.
The bottom line is that the Gerudo may look SWANA, but they actually aren't.
They are Gerudo, which may have SWANA themeing, but are actually their own thing inspired by their real-world equivalent. The same is true of Hylians.
For one, as far as we've seen, the Gerudo were never enslaved by the Hylians. For another, unless stated otherwise, the Hylians are actually native to Hyrule. While it's true that they were taken up to the sky for a time, it's also said that they lived on the Surface beforehand. And the only reference to the Gerudo we see in SS is the Gerudo Dragonfly. The desert being inhabited instead by little robots.
And... honestly, depending on just how realistic you're willing to go with this... The fact that they have the level of melanin that they do suggests that they've been living in areas of high uv for at least 10,000 years. Even by the point of OoT.
And, due to living in a pre-modern era, even if they were to be relocated into the northern parts of Hyrule, regardless of their predominant genetics, because of this, not only would their children be more likely to develop rickets, they'd slowly begin to lose that melanin over the generations due to having a difficult time producing their own Vitamin D in low light. Meaning that each subsequent generation would begin to select genetics corresponding to lighter skintones until they'd be no darker than most of the rest of the non-Gerudo residents of Hyrule.
Just homogenization.
And, I just very much doubt that Hyrule has developed Vitamin D Supplements yet.
Though, they'd likely be able to maintain that tone better in southern Hyrule. I mean, look at Lurelin.
Which, actually... That could allow for a more Hindi branch of Gerudo... I love sarees!
I think I'm gonna invent a new Gerudo settlement in Faron Jungle. 😀 I'm thinking around where Damel Forest is & possibly giving them a temple or shrine on Kamah Plateau. I'm imagining a grand staircase carved along the clifface itself leading up to it. And... I'm kinda tempted to add a reference to Holi to my Festivals & Holidays list...
Then there's the fact that after OoT in the Child Timeline, the Gerudo were simply exiled from Hyrule to the southwest for Ganondorf's deeds rather than genocided. And they seemed fine interacting with Hylians, which wouldn't make sense if such were attempted.
Now, I'm not about to deny that Hyrule did horrible things. For one, they desecrated a Gerudo holy site. And most likely a number of Gerudo were, in fact, tortured & executed there. However, if it were an outright attempt at genocide, then you'd think there'd be at least some warriness regarding Hylians, yet there really doesn't seem to be in FSA.
So, the only explanation I can really find is that the Royal Family never intended to exterminate all the Gerudo & only took those who remained loyal to Ganondorf (you know, because he killed a forest spirit in an attempt to steal a significant relic pertaining to another kingdom's religious/cultural identity; which is a freaking war crime).
Admittedly, the exile was a bit much. Or I assume they were exiled. If not, then why so far away now? Was it self-exile? I mean... it would make sense... the Gerudo have shown themselves to take Ganondorf's treachery very personally. "Our responsibility..." It's possible that they left in shame... well, that's sad...
Though, if so, it was probably for the best that they stayed away as long as they did... I mean, think about it. Gdorf's attempt likely resulted in escalated hostilities from the Hylians. Which, regardless of why the men were so fearful of them in Castle Town to begin with, Hyrulean attitudes towards them most likely DID NOT improve regardless of whether a specific Gerudo were actually a supporter or not.
Because that's just how people are sometimes. It's dumb, but that's the way of it.
And, while they weren't thriving. They seemed to be happy & they appeared to get along with their Zuna buddies pretty well.
And they didn't really seem to be thieves anymore, which... Now that I think about it... this only seemed... to be the case whenever... Ganondorf... was... in charge...
...
O.o
I... I think I just realized something that would get me a lot of hate from Gdorf Apologists... 😰
---
A-anyway, if my thoughts are true, then this could actually be a very interesting twist!
And, while Hylians do have a lot in common with Germanic & Arthurian English culture. It's mostly based off a trope revolving around the European fairytales!
Ya know, the knight in shining armor comes to save the princess. That's always been the basis behind the game.
Even more than that, the game series itself is made from an Eastern perspective, by the Japanese. Meaning that the game more readily has a Japanese lense over it rather than a Western one.

Okay, fine. 27% of sunscreen on 2022 was found to contain the carcinogen Benzene. Sunscreen is also being investigated to cause hair loss, while UVB radiation has been shown to stimulate hair follicles. Vitamin D is essential for non-muscular soft tissue repair. 80% of Covid patients had low vitamin D and of those who developed metabolic conditions because of it, 90% had vitamin D. Vitamin D has also been found to increase immunity to the flu. UV exposure has been found to treat abnormal skin conditions like psoriasis and dermatitis regardless of vitamin D levels. UV also lowers blood pressure, kills microorganisms, and serves as a neurotransmitter, which can reduce symptoms of mental illness and help manage fibromyalgia. Recent studies are finding that lack of sunlight exposure in children causes irregular cornea shaping and exposure to sunlight without UV blocking can improve standard vision (the 20/20 number) and also reduce astigmatism. UV is being studied in its ability to suppress autoimmune conditions, and it's been shown to increase antioxidant responses. Wearing sunglasses actually makes you more likely to burn because your eyes send signals to your skin to increase melanin production and heat sensitivity when UV production is higher.
Human beings evolved to not only tolerate but benefit from the sun! It is our friend!
be pro-aging but wear sun screen. sun protection is not beauty industry propaganda it will save you. wear it. or else.

Finding Comfort After Loss: The Power of Pet Loss Memorial Gifts
Cancer in cats is a serious health issue that affects many of our feline friends. While not all cancers are curable, early detection and proper treatment can significantly improve a cat's quality of life and increase the chances of successful recovery. For those experiencing the loss of a beloved feline companion, consider exploring meaningful pet loss memorial items or a loss of a pet memorial gift to send to someone who’s lost a pet in honor their memory. These kind gestures can bring comfort and soothing to this trying period.
Lymphoma
Lymphoma is amongst the most commonly diagnosed types of cancer in cats. It results from the unusual multiplication of lymphocytes—a kind of white blood cell that plays a role in the immune system.
Symptoms
Anorexia: Loss of appetite is a common and very worrying symptom.
Weight Loss: Cats can experience weight loss despite maintaining or even increasing their food intake.
Lethargy: There are decreased energy levels and a general lack of interest in play or other activities.
Gastrointestinal Upset: Vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation can occur, especially when the gastrointestinal tract is involved.
Difficulty Breathing: It can compress the airways, causing respiratory distress if the lymphoma affects the chest cavity.
Enlarged Lymph Nodes: Swollen lymph nodes may be palpable under the skin, especially in the neck, armpits, and groin.
Fever: Some cats may have intermittent fevers.
Increased Thirst: This is often indicative of kidney involvement.
Diagnosis
Physical Examination: A veterinarian must perform a thorough physical examination, including palpation of lymph nodes and assessment for other abnormalities.
Blood Tests: Complete blood count (CBC) and blood chemistry panels will help evaluate overall health, identify underlying infections, and assess organ function.
Fine-needle Aspirate: It is the collection of cells from a swollen lymph node or other affected tissue through a small needle and examined under the microscope.
Biopsy: A more definite diagnosis may be done with a larger tissue sample taken, usually by surgical removal.
Imaging Tests: X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs can determine the spread of the lymphoma and its involvement in internal organs.
Treatments
Chemotherapy
It is the first line of treatment for most feline lymphomas. Various chemotherapy drugs are used, and the selection depends on the type and stage of the lymphoma.
Combination Chemotherapy: Using more than one drug often gives better results than single-agent therapy.
Side Effects: Chemotherapy has several side effects, including nausea, vomiting, hair loss, and suppression of the bone marrow.
Radiation Therapy
It may be given along with chemotherapy, mainly in cases of localized tumors.
Surgery
The removal of the tumors might be attempted by surgery in patients with localized disease.
Supportive Care
Chemotherapy's side effects might be treated with medications.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)
SCC is the most common skin cancer in cats and the most common oral cancer. It originates from the malignant proliferation of epithelial cells present in the outermost layer of the skin and other organs.
Risk Factors
Overexposure to the Sun: Cats with light-colored fur, especially white cats, have a higher risk of SCC because they produce less melanin, which gives protection against UV radiation.
Immunosuppression: Cats with a weak immune system, such as FeLV or FIV-infected cats, are prone to SCC.
Symptoms
Lumps: These are elevated, firm lumps on the skin or in the mouth.
Non-healing Sores: These are open wounds that do not heal even with treatment.
Ulceration: There are open sores or erosions.
Bleeding: Sometimes, the affected area bleeds.
Difficulty Breathing: If SCC is located in the nasal passages, it can obstruct airflow.
Difficulty in Eating or Swallowing: It can interfere with chewing and swallowing if the SCC occurs in the oral cavity.
Diagnosis
Physical Examination: Thorough examination of the affected area.
Fine-needle Aspirate: Collecting cells from the lesion for microscopic evaluation.
Biopsy: Obtaining a tissue sample for definitive diagnosis.

#netherlands has automatic registration but no compulsory voting so it isn't even an automatic ''slippery slope''#please just start with the automatic registration first and see how that goes#(and yes force the goverment to make it easier to vote in other ways as well
Yeah, this. I feel like it would be totally on-brand for the US to somehow manage to have both compulsory voting and voter suppression--like, you (hypothetical you, probably a resident of a voting district with more melanin than money) have to pick between missing work to stand in a voting line all day, or being fined $50 (which could potentially escalate up to jail time if you can't pay the initial fine because you got fired for missing work to stand in line for several hours, but then had to leave the line because you were about to pass out from dehydration and/or you had to pee, and now you're racking up late fees to the tune of hundreds of dollars, and you have to either miss work again to go to court about it, or be charged with contempt of court, etc., etc. This is a real thing that already happens in the US, where people end up being sent to jail over inability to pay what started out as a small fine).
I would be very hesitant about compulsory voting in the US unless both our massive voter suppression problem and the growing debtor's prison trend were dealt with first.
BUT! There is a lot of distance between "automatic registration" and "compulsory voting." Plenty of places--such as the Netherlands--have one without the other.
And I can't see a way for the GOP to massively fuck with automatic registration. I'm sure they'd try, but I can't think of any twist they could put on the concept, that would make it worse than the status quo.
For instance, it would be difficult to get/keep people registered if they're unhoused or experiencing housing instability with frequent changes of address--and we can reasonably expect that the Republicans would resist allocating resources toward addressing this need. But that's one segment of the population that already has trouble accessing voter registration. They wouldn't be helped, but they wouldn't be any worse off, and lots of other people would be helped.
So, yeah. I'm not seeing a downside to automatic registration--unless your goal is to suppress the vote.

Inhabitants — Elem Races
———————————
🩸Hemorus🩸
Hemorus Elems or blood elems, are a race of elems that as you might’ve guessed have something to do with the cardiovascular system. Hemorus is the general name for this elem as there’s subsections of the race that make up the whole.
There are three kinds of Hemorus Elems:
Ichorium
Vampiric
Veintrillic
Ichorium — have a rapid mutating adjusting golden blood that is commonly used in medical fields for transfusions and pharmaceutical research. Many (but rare/uncommon to not have this) Ichorium elems have a lack of pigmentation and melanin. It’s theorized that it helps to produce healthier cells but origins are still unknown.
Vampiric — the origin of many and any story of a blood sucking humanoid can be traced to these elems. Through medical advancements; a controlled prescription drug has been made to suppress the urge to consume blood, it’s regulated purpose is highly pushed to be on a consistent schedule and prohibited to slow the intake or lessen the prescribed dosage however a few vampiric have been able to successfully manage the primal urge to hunt for blood due in part to their regular intake; which makes it possible to no longer need the drug. Said drug is not addictive and mainly a supplement to fill the need to actual blood; which means most vampiric elems have never even consumed blood if ever in their lifetime!
Veintrillic — blood controlling elems, many if any (not many have been documented in recent times after the maurundy massacre) are in medical fields mostly working in blood work which has saved many during surgery or severe injuries.
Hemorus elems are renowned as being majority friendly and ready to help, given this many settlements acted as hospice and retreats for those seeking aid for medical conditions and injuries.
However in modern times many of these once common and spread out settlements have all but some vanished due in part to stigmatization and a believed myth of a once booming Hemorus elem settlement…
If you remember the previous post going over the written language, you’d remember the alphabet that is common for elems who are based around using sonar or echolocation to help find food or communicate! Understanding Cancer and Its Development
Cancer occurs when the natural process of cell growth and death is disrupted, leading to uncontrolled cell division. These abnormal cells may form tumors that are either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Malignant tumors can invade nearby tissues and spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body. While the causes of cancer vary, common triggers include genetic mutations, lifestyle factors, and environmental exposures such as harmful chemicals or radiation.
Types of Cancer Treated at Modern Homeopathy
We treat a wide range of cancers with remedies focused on improving overall health and targeting cancer-specific symptoms. Common cancers we manage include:
Carcinomas: Breast, prostate, and colon cancers originating from epithelial cells.
Sarcomas: Cancers affecting connective tissues such as bones and muscles.
Leukemia: Cancer of blood-forming tissues like the bone marrow.
Lymphomas: Cancer affecting the lymphatic system.
Melanoma: A type of skin cancer that develops in melanin-producing cells.
Common Symptoms of Cancer
The symptoms of cancer depend on the type and location, but some universal signs include:
Unexplained weight loss and fatigue.
Persistent pain or swelling.
Lumps in the body.
Skin changes, such as sores that do not heal.
Unusual bleeding or chronic cough.
Changes in bowel or bladder habits.
If you notice these symptoms, consulting a specialist for a proper diagnosis is crucial.

As someone who did watercolor family portraits of my natural blond family members, the trick I learned was to make the ugliest dishwater beige-brown possible and then pick up just a touch of it with a wet brush (to sheer it out) and it would look like a perfect natural cool blond. I assume there's some way to translate that to digital.
But yeah, blond is not really "yellow" and if you try to make it yellow it looks very artificial. Deliberately stylized imagery like old school comic books and anime can make it work, but anything more naturalistic you need to use a muted beige for blond hair.
Some other things to keep in mind with blond hair: It naturally sun-bleaches pretty easily, so the roots will typically be slightly darker which helps with the hair not blending in to the skin. It's not a hard line like a grown-out bleach job though, just a soft gradient, often kind of streaky according to which bits of the hair get exposed more to the sun. Blond hair is also somewhat translucent because there's very little pigment, so the outermost layer of hair will look brighter than under layers because the light can shine through those outer layers.
Scientifically, mammals have two types of pigment that produce all our skin and hair colors. Cool blond is actually caused by very dilute eumelanin (black-brown melanin) encapsulated in keratin which is white. Red/orange hair (and red/orange freckles) is caused by production of pheomelanin and suppression of eumelanin. Warm blond (gold/strawberry) is caused by low level production of both eumelanin and pheomelanin. Brown and black are caused by high production of eumelanin, with high pheomelanin producing warm brown and black shades and low pheomelanin producing cool brown and black shades. Basically imagine there's a slider for cool brown and a slider for red, each slider starts at zero (no color) up to 100 (very dark color) and hair color is determined by the combination of the two sliders.
It's easier to find information on this if you look into domestic animal color patterns like cats, dogs, and horses, because an unfortunate number of people get weird and racist about it when you try to discuss how skin and hair color genes are expressed in humans. But we're all mammals and the mechanisms are basically the same.
Why you don't like drawing blond man? /gen
Getting their palettes right is so annoying 😔 I only like doing it if I can go with a reddish/orangish shade instead of outright yellow. But it's even more annoying to paint LMAO. I regard blond hair the same way I regard the color purple

Different Eye Colors in Cats: Understanding the Fascinating Variety
Cats are known for their captivating eyes, which come in an array of colors ranging from deep amber to piercing blue. But did you know that some cats can have two different eye colors? This phenomenon, known as heterochromia, makes them even more intriguing to cat lovers. In this guide, we’ll explore the reasons behind different eye colors in cats, the breeds commonly associated with this trait, and how to care for these unique felines.
What Causes Different Eye Colors in Cats?
The phenomenon of different eye colors in cats is primarily due to a genetic condition called heterochromia. This occurs when the amount of melanin, the pigment responsible for color, differs between the eyes. Melanin levels are influenced by genetic factors, which determine whether a cat has matching or mismatched eye colors.
Types of Heterochromia
Complete Heterochromia: One eye is entirely different in color from the other (e.g., one blue eye and one green or yellow eye).
Sectoral Heterochromia: A single eye has two different colors, such as blue and amber in the same iris.
Central Heterochromia: The iris features a ring of one color surrounded by another, creating a mesmerizing pattern.
Why Do Some Cats Have Different Eye Colors?
Different eye colors in cats are most commonly linked to genetics, coat color, and pigmentation.
1. The Role of Coat Color
Cats with white or predominantly white coats are more likely to have different-colored eyes. This is due to the dominant white gene (W) or white spotting gene (S), which can suppress melanin production in one or both eyes, leading to a blue eye.
2. Breeds and Heredity
Certain breeds are genetically predisposed to heterochromia. This trait is especially common in breeds like:
Turkish Angora: Known for their silky coats and striking odd eyes.
Turkish Van: Often white with color markings and odd-colored eyes.
Japanese Bobtail: Frequently features heterochromia in white-coated cats.
Khao Manee: A rare Thai breed prized for its luminous, mismatched eyes.
3. Random Genetic Mutation
Heterochromia can also occur in non-white cats as a random genetic mutation, making it possible for any cat to have different eye colors.
Are Cats with Different Eye Colors Healthy?
In most cases, heterochromia is purely a cosmetic trait and does not impact a cat’s vision or overall health. However, it’s essential to monitor for underlying issues that might be associated with certain conditions:
1. Deafness in White Cats
Cats with white fur and a blue eye are more likely to be deaf in the ear on the side of the blue eye. This is due to the same genetic factors that influence melanin production. However, this does not affect their quality of life when managed properly.
2. Acquired Heterochromia
If a cat develops different-colored eyes later in life, it may indicate a health issue such as:
Eye trauma
Inflammation (uveitis)
Glaucoma
Systemic conditions like high blood pressure or infections
If you notice sudden changes in your cat’s eye color, consult a veterinarian immediately.
The Magic of Blue Eyes in Cats with Heterochromia
Blue eyes in cats with different eye colors are caused by a lack of melanin. Unlike humans, who have blue eye pigmentation, the blue color in cats’ eyes is due to light scattering in the iris. This phenomenon explains why many odd-eyed cats have one blue eye paired with a green, yellow, or amber eye.
Breeds Known for Different Eye Colors
1. Turkish Angora
This breed is often associated with odd eyes. Turkish Angoras are elegant, medium-sized cats with silky coats, and they frequently have one blue eye and one amber or green eye.
2. Khao Manee
Also called the "Diamond Eye Cat," this rare Thai breed is highly sought after for its striking mismatched eyes. They are typically white-coated with one blue eye and one green or yellow eye.
3. Turkish Van
Turkish Vans are famous for their "Van pattern" coats (white with color on the head and tail) and are often seen with odd-colored eyes.
4. Japanese Bobtail
Known for their unique tails, Japanese Bobtails also display heterochromia, especially in white-coated individuals.
Fun Facts About Cats with Different Eye Colors
Good Luck Charm: In Turkey, odd-eyed cats are considered a symbol of good fortune and are often protected as national treasures.
Not Just in White Cats: While most odd-eyed cats are white, heterochromia can occur in cats of any coat color.
Celebrity Cats: Many famous cats, like Bowie the Cat, have odd-colored eyes, further boosting their appeal among fans.
How to Care for Cats with Different Eye Colors
Caring for a cat with heterochromia is no different from caring for any other cat. However, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure their health and comfort:
1. Routine Eye Checks
Regularly inspect your cat’s eyes for redness, discharge, or cloudiness. Early detection of potential problems can prevent serious issues.
2. Hearing Tests for White Cats
If your odd-eyed cat has a blue eye and white fur, have its hearing tested. Deafness in one or both ears is common in such cats, but they adapt well to their condition.
3. UV Protection
Cats with light-colored fur and blue eyes can be more sensitive to sunlight. Limit their exposure or provide shade if they enjoy outdoor time.
4. Regular Vet Visits
Schedule routine checkups to monitor your cat’s overall health, including its eyes. Sudden changes in eye color or behavior should be reported to your vet immediately.
Myth vs. Reality: Misconceptions About Cats with Different Eye Colors
Myth: Odd-eyed cats are blind. Reality: Most cats with different eye colors have perfectly normal vision.
Myth: Heterochromia is rare in cats. Reality: While it’s more common in certain breeds, heterochromia can occur in any cat.
Myth: Cats with heterochromia are unhealthy. Reality: Odd eyes are usually a harmless genetic trait unless accompanied by other symptoms.
Conclusion
Cats with different eye colors are undeniably mesmerizing, their unique appearance adding to their charm. Whether it’s a Turkish Angora with one amber eye and one blue eye or a random domestic cat with mismatched irises, these felines are a testament to the beauty of genetic diversity. While heterochromia is typically harmless, it’s essential to stay vigilant about your cat’s eye health and consult a vet if you notice any changes.
If you’re lucky enough to share your life with a cat that has different eye colors, cherish their beauty and the joy they bring to your home. After all, their uniqueness makes them even more special!

Neuromelanin-Sensitive MRI Identified as a Potential Biomarker for Psychosis - National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
Have you ever wondered why people who call themselves white are often paranoid and dangerous? This is because they lack melanin in the brain along with depigmentation of the skin. The last thing that people should listen to are people who are depigmented.
These are the most brain damaged humans on earth. It pains me greatly to witness that most of the world population follows the narratives of the dumbest mother fucking people on earth. Education doesn't make you more clever than anyone else because this could be associated with indoctrination and programming based on the beliefs of a dominant group.
Banning certain books and trying to suppress history is a good indicator that someone is trying to cover up something that they hope you don't recognize in reality. You have to have a shitty history when you are trying to hide it from the rest of the world.
Almost everything that these stupid ass people believe in, is often proven wrong and inaccurate. We can examine many things that most people believe in and we can see that this doesn't match the natural ways of our world.
You can either live under the influence and control of the inbreds and ignorant people or we can embrace the natural history of our Black African History? The choice is solely on you.
