Mel having no one but herself to mirror with her newfound abilities so all her emotions are just amplified and she starts understanding herself/ her actions with clarity she’s never had before. Mel medarda who reconstructs her identity beyond the medarda name. Mel who realizes how much the medarda name—the medarda need to hold power— defines her even as she sought to “break away” and embrace being a fox—how much she had craved access to its full power and what she had sacrificed to obtain it. Mel who doesn’t know who she is or rather what she is in the grand scheme of things—what purpose does she have—what good—what change does she actually bring—

Zaunite!Mel AU - Myth of Chaos

Main points to get em out of the way

Mel discovers her powers before she is sent away.

Everyone else besides Mel and Elora stay where they are. Viktor is still in Piltover working on hextech, Vi is still in prison. Before their paths meet with Mel, the timeline is mostly the same.

In this AU, Cassandra Kiramman is the one who 'sponsors' hextech.

Ships: Melvik, Meljayvik later on(circle of love, people!).

Past Melora with Zaunite!Elora too but she dies early on. Will expand on this later on(this is not a spoiler, main timeline starts way after Elora dies. Elora will be mentioned time to time alongside flashbacks.)

I do not explicitly hate any characters, so if you're lookin for bashing, you will not find it here. Same goes for if you're looking to bash any character with me.

Things may change! I change things quite a lot when I get more ideas, or start writing.

Now for the basics(under the cut)

Instead of being sent to Piltover, Mel gets stripped of her status and resources, and gets sent to Zaun.

Mel is a disgraced Noxian noble, cast out by Ambessa for reasons that are both personal and political. Her mother’s message is clear: if she can’t survive in the undercity, she’s not worthy of the Medarda name.

Mel arrives with nothing but her wits, her ambition, and the faint traces of magic she’s inherited—a golden, shimmering energy that seems to pulse with raw power. In Zaun, she takes the name Chaos, shedding her previous identity to survive in a world where weakness is exploited and strength is everything. She quickly learns that Zaun operates on a different set of rules than Noxus and Piltover.

So, she ends up aligning with Silco. Not because she’s loyal to him, but because he’s the biggest power in Zaun, and she knows she needs his resources to survive. Silco, of course, sees her as a asset. She’s smart, she’s strategic, and she’s got this mysterious magic that he can use to scare people. He starts spreading rumors about her, calling her Chaos, and suddenly she’s this legendary figure in the undercity.

Mel’s got her own agenda though. She’s sneaking out at night, helping Zaunites who are struggling—leaving food, medicine, sabotaging Piltover stuff that’s hurting the undercity. It’s like she’s playing both sides: she’s this feared enforcer for Silco, but she’s also got this secret soft spot for the people of Zaun.

Mel meets Elora on her 'missons.' Elora is injured, caught in the crossfire between enforcers and Zaunite rebels. Mel saves her with her magic, and helps patch her up. Elora is different from most Zaunites. She’s softer, more optimistic, and hasn’t been fully hardened by the undercity’s harsh realities. She works as a caretaker, tending to the sick and injured in the Lanes, and she genuinely believes that Zaun can be a better place. Mel is the opposite- calculated, survival-driven- but she likes Elora anyway, more for being the comfort she needs. It doesn't take them form a relationship, as much as they can while Mel hides Elora from Silco. She doesn't want Elora anywhere near her life as Silco's advisor. Elora dies because of a robbery gone wrong. Mel finds her on the ground of her clinic with a knife through her chest the next time she visits.

Then there’s Jinx. Their dynamic is messy. Mel sees Jinx as this chaotic, destructive force, but she also sees potential in her. Mel tries to mold Jinx into a more controlled version of herself, believing that chaos without direction is wasted energy. But Jinx? She hates it. They’re constantly butting heads, but over time, Mel starts to realize she can’t change Jinx. She stops trying so hard, but she still tries to rein her in just a bit.

Sevika(no this is not a melvika arc, i dont ship em sorry. i literally ship sevika with mel's mom- so-) When Mel first joins Silco’s inner circle, Sevika’s immediately suspicious of her. Sevika’s been Silco’s right hand for years, and she doesn’t trust some outsider waltzing in with her fancy magic and big ambitions. Mel, on the other hand, sees Sevika as a blunt instrument—useful, but not exactly subtle. Their first interactions are frosty, to say the least. Over time, though, they start to grudgingly respect each other. Sevika sees that Mel’s not just talk—she’s willing to get her hands dirty and fight for what she wants. And Mel starts to appreciate Sevika’s loyalty and sheer toughness. They’re never going to be best friends, but they develop a sort of understanding. They’re both survivors, and they both know what it’s like to claw their way up from nothing.

At some point, Mel runs into Ekko fighting against Enforcers and, against her better judgement, helps him out. She knows she shouldn't, he's a firelight after all, But Ekko’s his belief in a better future for Zaun starts to mess with her head. She’s spent so long just trying to survive, playing these power games, that she’s forgotten what it’s like to fight for something bigger than herself.

This whole thing makes her start questioning her loyalty to Silco. Like, is she really just here to climb the ladder, or does she actually care about Zaun and its people? It’s a turning point for her. She starts to imagine a different path, one where she’s not just Silco’s enforcer or her mother’s pawn, but someone who can actually make a difference.

Andddd what I got for now. I still need to work on how Piltover is different and expand more/work on on relationships, characters and their developments, and probably a bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now. Again, this is just the basics and it is extremely messy. If anyone has any questions or ideas do lemme know!

i have decided to be the change i wanna see, so lets do a nice little thing for each other, as a community full of incredible and talented writers. yes this is writer specific only, but thats cause thats where the main problem of people not interacting with creative works lies in this fandom as far as i can tell and have seen people talking about it especially in the last couple of months

and just in general.. leave people comments. leave them asks about their projects. just go over and gush about their work. i know it sounds embarrassing but writers love nothing more than to hear that someone likes what they are doing. if you find a fic that hasnt been updated in forever, comment on it. it might just be the spark the author needs to continue. while kudos and likes are nice, and just as valuable to some, its definitely in the words the people leave for them that matter the most. im not saying this to put pressure on anyone, its just how it is, and i feel like unless people are writers themselves, and even then sometimes, thats just hard to grasp, especially if the writer is a smaller and less popular one who doesnt get a lot of traffic in the first place

i think thats all. just be nice and considered to everyone, reblog peoples works, this post with others add ons and so forth. and if i find anyone talking shit here or at other writers for something they share, you'll be blocked and im probably taking your kneecaps. be fucking nice. we are all struggling here and we need to stick together
