Amount of sleep: Lmao sleep? What's that? I'm always so busy in my everyday life between cosplay, school, work and everyday responsibilities that i don't really get any. I'm lucky if i even get 4 hours of sleep a night.

Dream Trip: Italy! Its warm, surrounded by art, culture, has some sick stone architecture and jaw dropping scenery. Its honestly my dream to live there someday, not just visit.

Instruments: Aside from really poor piano i don't play any instruments. But I'd love to pick up violin.

401. Some say that high school is the best time of your life. Was that true for you? >> It was not. 402. What do you find yourself encouraging others to try? >> I can’t think of anything that fits that description. Generally if I’m encouraging someone, it’s because they brought up something that they wanted to try and are anxious about it or something. 403. Which is better: Mel Brooks or Woody Allen? >> Man, I love Mel Brooks movies, I think he’s hilarious. Meanwhile I’m not sure if I’ve seen any Woody Allen movies but I did see a clip from A Rainy Day in New York (think that’s the title) that went viral here on tumblr and it was just... abysmally bad. I cringed the whole length of the clip (to the point of physical pain, lmao). So that’s now my frame of reference for his movies. 404. When was the last time you were up all night? >> About 2 or 3 years ago, I’d say. I remember being up all night on stimulants and ended up writing a weird Person of Interest fic (it’s definitely one of those fics that I would have dreamed of writing but would have talked myself out of writing if I’d been sober, because I would have thought it was too weird or stupid... so I’m glad it got a chance to exist), and that would have been around 3 years ago. 405. __ is life. Are people too complex and different to be categorized? >> People are definitely way more complex than their categories would suggest, but I don’t think that means the categories are fundamentally useless. I’m so glad that you appreciate our HOET4ness. We are quite the girl gang if I may say so myself. 

You know when you’re a kid and you’re like, “Dear diary, no one here understands me…” Now it’s like, “Dear diary, no one here understands us…” and then we do gypsy spells to try and help us get ticket’s to Harry’s LA concert. Basically since meeting Melly I’ve slowly been able to collect a coven of like-minded people that now make up this fantastic HOET4. I never thought I’d find someone as weird as I am and here I am with these hoes and we just ownin our weirdness and being creative together and shit. 

The only problem is different timezones, which I solved by moving across the damn world, but we need to get Melly outta New York to create the perfect PST trifecta…quadfecta? I don’t know. Like last night we had a Harry Behind the Album watching party but due to none of us having any concept of time, Melly was asleep by the time I had tried and failed multiple times to get it to work on iTunes.

THEN because I was watching it on DailyMotion my video kept getting interrupted by ads and these other two hoes spent over an hour pausing and rewinding so we could watch it together and on the very last ad right before the film ended I realised there was a big X at the top of the ad that I could click to SKIP the ad…pick people who are supportive of your dumb ass! 

I’ve found that people who have become my closest friends have a very high patience threshold…and for that I am eternally grateful.

A New Chapter

Every time I decide to make something, start a new project, idea, etc. I always start over. I always make anew account and get a new username and try to establish this persona, this identity central to this new idea I want to concentrate on... But the same thing always happens. I can never stick to it. For instance, I made a new instagram account for my band and named it “myrtlespearls” and it was going to be my account for my music for my band old myrtle beach (RIP) and also whatever random shit popped into y life that I wanted to share with whoever gave a shit to follow the account. “Myrtle” was this new persona of mine I wanted to develop. She was this rockstar. This crazy ass artistic hoe who didn’t give a fuck about what she should or shouldn’t do pertaining to music making and fine art making. It was just going to be an account I could freely express or post my own digital creations. But then it turned into my main account and I forgot about my personal one “Melgibs0n”. What I noticed between the two account was that all of my friends who were following myrtlespearls were the more contemporary group I was engaging with and melgibs0b became an old home.. I had make myrtlespearls at the start of my freshman year in college so there was an evident divide in my friends. I would always get more likes on the melgibs0n account because I hardly posted on it and when I did it was because there, the audience consisted of old friends who most likely liked whatever I posted no matter what because they were just happy to see what i was up to. The myrtlespearls account became about quality... or at least an expectation was felt...

But did those people even know who I was? 

My confidence built up by this new admiration and belongingness that I had found thanks to my friends from NYU and New York City separated me from the person I was in my small little town Temecula. I know I would make separate accounts and create a separation between my work and I because I didn’t want certain friends to see what I was putting out there... Not because it was bad but there was an insecurity in trying to insert my voice in particular spaces. 

I was joyous to have found my voice last year. I was telling everyone I knew that I knew who I was. A “campaigner” is what I got on that personality test that everyone takes... When I’m passionate about something I have to tell the world. Good jobs? Advertising. And whats funny is how empty I have seen advertisement as being.

I’ve been trying to figure myself out recently. Its been quite a mental strain, I’ll tell you that much. Its kept me from loving my boyfriends properly and from enjoying my time in california with my parents. And I know I’m not the only one. Every time I had seeked advice from people all they would ever say is “you have time” or they would give me their two sense as to what they think I would be good at doing. What resulted was anxiety. 

So in seeing that no one knows what the fuck they are actually doing and that we are all puppets hanging by our umbilical chords to the systems we’ve been introduced to, I hope to start living again by taking this semester off. People warn you not to, to stay in school. But what good is school if its not benefitting my life right now. Its just an obstacle in my own personal journey right now. I want to want to learn things and appreciate life for where I’m at right now. Unfiltered. unedited. I love writing and I hope to use this platform as a public diary of the sorts. I want to use tumblr as an advertisement for my path. A promotion for creative freedom and endurance. Let’s hope I stick to this one haha.

Stayed up late looking through old art because an archive is down. Then stayed up waaay to late trying to find old friends and mutuals and have failed (as usual, many of them the type to nuke their online presence without warning and start up again with a new name)

And I'm sitting here thinking through why I want to find them (close friends I miss deeply, someone who i'd been close with but we had a misunderstanding and I've never fully been able to apologize or explain now that I am in much better mental health, some who I was only a little aware of but am curious about)

And I think, for most if not all, I don't even want to have a connection if they don't. That's fine. I understand. We are adults with lives and other problems. I just want to be able to check in. To see you are around. To see what you're creating, if you are.

I don't have to be part of that. But they were all such large pieces in my journey of growing up. And to never be able to check in makes me sad.

Anyway, expect nostalgia art from my highschool OCs. Cause in trying to find something I re-read a bunch of shit. (And with the lense of NOT SEVERELY DEPRESSED AND BEEN THROUGH MANY YEARS OF THERAPY I'm now like SHITFUCKDAMMIT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND and tears lol)

so the thing is, with tiktok/shorts/reels it evetually is like HERE'S ALL THE ADHD CONTENT (and some Autism content for SPICE +.:•*.), I see full spectrum of ADHD-ing

and like... I get a little worried at the ones who like... can't function??? For them at times, but then for me like WAIT WHY AM I ABLE TO RECALL WHAT I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT. WHY AM I ABLE TO FORCE MYSELF TO COMPLETE TASKS CAUSE I KNOW I WILL WALK AWAY AND NOT GET BACK TO IT?? WHY CAN I FORCE MYSELF TO FIND THE PART OF THE TASK THAT WILL GIVE ME A LITTLE DOPAMINE IN SEEING IT DONE SO I DON'T HATE IT???

(all w the caveat of NOT ALWAYS. Sometimes adhd and dompamine issues prevail)

but it leads to me being like "SHIT AM I NOT ADHD???" Which like no.. it's probably just a spectrum and all ppl are different.

and the key word in all of those is FORCE and coping skills I've made to be able to complete necessary tasks.

But like one person is LEARNING TO DRIVE and is (at least for the camera) having their husband help them. ANd like???? CAN ADHD BE A DRIVING IMPAIRMENT THAT DISQUALIFIES PEOPLE.

Anyway. I appreciate ADHD awareness cause without all my fav creators talking about being ADHD and or the tiktoks talking about some ADHD symptoms I probably wouldn't have gotten to accepting that I could be actually diagnosably ADHD. BUT now that it's SO OMNIPRESENT sometimes I'm like fuck should I be like that cause I have ADHD why am I not like that? I don't want to be like that???

Yesterday was EVENTFUL. Dropped off some cookies I made on Monday to my uncle. Came back and cleaned out my car and VACUUMED IT???? IT LOOKS??? SO GOOD!!! Then took the dogs on an hour long walk to keep them away from mom on a work call. Then I made some seed starting trays from used water containers for some milkweed seeds!!! Filled up my bike tires and tested it out. Got Chinese takeout for mom night!!! And then pulled it together to work out before it became 4 days since I hadn’t.

I liked doing these dumb almost journal-y posts so imma try and keep doing them if y’all like it
