Harry loved being an Auror, he really did. He loved the rush of getting in the field and catching bad guys and helping people. He loved it. He really did.

But fuck if he wasn’t getting too old to be singlehandedly fighting off five fucking dark wizards at once. It was at times like that that Harry hated Ron for quitting the force. His new partner was an actual fucking nuisance, and got hit in the first minute of combat. He was furious, absolutely furious. At Robbards for assigning him the most stupid Auror in the entire department, at Ron for leaving him and mostly at Moss for getting stunned.

If only Harry could distract them long enough to cast an incarcerus...

His brain twisted, his hands casting counter-curses one after the other, not having time to breathe between blows, and then it came to him. Of course!

“Expecto Patronum”

Harry heard his own voice echo into the dark alley, and the shimmering light of his patronus took form.

Something was wrong. It was too big. Enormous. Gigantic. Big enough to distract the criminals, so Harry trapped them all in body binds, only then turning around to see.

His deer was nowhere to be seen. In his place stood a fucking dragon. A mejestic white winged dragon.

His patronus was huge, enormous dragon.

Just like Draco’s.

Well, that was a surprise.
