Till this day, calling Megumi a "bum" is absurd to me. Like, no, he's actually unhinged and ready to end it at the drop of a dime. He's just one of those people who know how unhinged they are but choose not to act a fool until someone rings that bell.

Tumblr media
Everything felt wrong.
From the moment you opened your eyes in the morning til after you've wrapped up your class with the second years, everything just did not feel right…
You could not pinpoint the cause, like an itch beneath your skin that you were unable to scratch. And to your misfortune, your unease showed just enough for your co-teacher, Gojo Satoru, to notice.
“You look like you just touched chewed gum, L/n~chan.” His infamous giggle, like a menace melody, rang through the faculty room.
A heavy sigh left your mouth as you continued to type the report you have neglected to work on from your previous mission. “It's…nothing, Gojo.”
“Eh~.” Poke, poke, his freakishly long fingers mercilessly assaulted your cheek. “But you look so miserable~.”
Having no energy to entertain this massive cat, you begrudgingly tried to ignore him.
A few seconds later, the office door opened, revealing Gojo's better half, Geto Suguru. Well, better half was an overestimate. Geto Suguru was a whole other menace but at least he's more tolerable than his partner.
“Toru? Shouldn't you be with Megumi right now?” You raised an eyebrow; Gojo had told you Megumi was back in his dorm.
“Gojo…did you give Megumi your task…again?”
“Maybe~,” he shamelessly replied as he spun around in his office chair.
“You're supposed to retrieve a special-grade cursed object, Toru!” Geto scolded, forcing the chair to halt so he could face him.
“He'll be fine, baby~.” Geto facepalmed.
“A gentle reminder you willingly proposed to this pain in the ass,” you said before taking a sip of your poison for the evening.
Geto's face scrunched, a look of deep regret painted on his face, while Gojo's jaw dropped, seemingly offended by this. “Hey! That's mean.”
“Don't worry, babe, I still love you.” Geto kissed his cheek before pulling this noodle of a man to his feet, and you gagged at the display of affection.
“Really? Right in front of me?” Gojo stuck out his tongue as he clung onto Geto’s arm, who was clearly amused by your misery.
“You're the one who refuses to see people, L/n-san,” referencing the countless attempts they made to set you up with someone they know.
“Mhm~ you're gonna get old and alone, L/n~chan~.”
An irk mark appeared on your forehead. “I swear, Gojo, if you stay here any longer, you won't have a full head of hair.”
“Eik!” Gojo pathetically jumped onto Geto, reflexively wrapping his arms around his neck as Geto held him up like he weighed nothing.
Geto chuckled, “I'm taking this pain in the ass away now.”
You rolled your eyes, dismissively waving your hand. “Just go, you two.”
“We'll see you tomorrow, then, L/n-san. Don't stay here for too long.”
“Mhm, yeah, yeah, I'll try not to.” Once the duo was out of the room, you caught a bit of their conversation.
[ Gojo: Let’s get Kukifuku before picking up Megumi~]
Though you can't see it, you just know Geto was shaking his head but would ultimately give into Gojo's whims.
You were right because the next thing you knew Geto was agreeing.
Just as their voices faded away, a sharp pain shot through your head, before disappearing just as abruptly as its appearance. You shrugged it off before continuing your work.
:
After a few, the initial ache came back again with a cruel vengeance as the pain crawled into every crevice of your brain. You started to feel nauseous, your vision began to blur, and not long after, everything turned black.
Tumblr media
You woke up from your little nap, nestled onto your husband's lap, wrapped around one of his strong arms. You looked up, your sleepy eyes catching a blurry image of your handsome husband. A dopey grin stretched onto your face as he fussed over the small bundle of joy in his other arm.
Once he noticed you were awake, he turned his head to face you, pinching your cheek with one of his free hands. “Look kid, your mother is finally awake.”
Your smile widened even more as you heard the melodious gurgles of your little baby. You sat up to lean over and reach your hand to hold onto his small, gloved ones.
“Sorry, baby, Mommy was just feeling a little tired~.” Your husband's warm hands rested on the small of your back and onto your shoulder. Your baby started to playfully punch the air, happily kicking his chubby feet.
“Hm~ yeah, go reprimand your mother.” You playfully glared at your husband.
“Ryo! Just so we're clear, this is all your fault.” He just gave you a look.
“Woman, are you on about?”
“Oh, I don't know…fucking me to oblivion just this morning? Hm?!” You accused him, leaning closer until your nose was almost touching.
Sukuna deadpanned, “Say that to me again but do remember you're the one who begged me not to stop.”
Heat crawled up to your cheeks. “I- uh sp-ugh…s besides the point…”
He quirked up an eyebrow, “Hm…yes, sure…whatever you say, wife.”
Before you could say anything more, your little boy made a few noises before spiraling into a crying session.
“Oh no, Yuuji baby~.” You reached out to hold him in your arms, rocking him a bit before realizing he must be hungry. “Hungry, are we now?”
Tumblr media
You bolted awake, the migraine gone, but the ringing of your phone might as well have brought it back. You looked at the caller ID; it was Megumi.
Without a second thought you answered it. “Gumi?”
[“L/n-sensei, uh, there was a situation.”]
You heard a big crash in the background.
“Are you in danger or hurt, Megumi?” Worry filled you; you swore if Gojo and Geto let this kid get hurt while in their watch-
[“Danger, no.”]
You let out a sigh of relief.
[“Hurt…yes.”]
“I-what? I thought it was a simple pick-up?”
You heard him sigh, [“It was supposed to be, but it spiraled out of control.”]
“Oh dear…do I need to go there?”
[“No, but are you still in Jujutsu Tech?”]
“Yes, why?” You heard him choke out his words, and you found it adorable, really adorable.
[“C-can you patch me up when we get back?”]
You fought the urge to coo, “Of course! I'll wait for you at the gate.”
[“Thank you, sensei.”]
You chuckled, “No problem~ oh, and please be a dear and say to Gojo and Geto they're dead once I see them.”
[“I will, oh, we'll be heading back in a bit.”]
“Okay then, I'll see you soon.” He ended the call, and you stretched a bit before preparing the first aid kit for your injured student.
:
You stood near the entrance of the tech when a cold chill ran up your spine as you made out the figures of Gojo, Geto, Megumi, and a pink-haired boy slumped onto Gojo's shoulders.
Tumblr media
Sulfur filled your lungs, your eyes fought to stay wide open as you fought tooth and nail from your captors and the special chains they caught you with.
You let out a strangled scream; to your right was your husband struggling to fight his way towards you. Tears of pure rage streamed down your face as you witnessed the grueling sight. Your husband’s arms and legs were wrapped with red-hot chains as several sorcerers tried to subdue his rampage.
And as if this sight was not enough, your world slowed when you heard your precious little boy's scream.
Your head snapped to the direction. Your boy, your Yuuji, was being held like some animal by some disgusting sorcerer.
“YUUJI!” He was supposed to have run far from here already; why is he here?!
This split-second distraction was a grave mistake as the sorcerers took this chance to finally pin you down.
A guttural sound came out of you as they began to gag you and put more chains to keep you from moving. You were breaking your skin, your bones even as you feraly tried to break the chains.
Your husband seemed to also have seen what was happening as his rampage seemed to amp up. You could see your Yuuji trying to get out of the man's hold, kicking, punching, and screaming to let go. Your baby was calling your name and your husband's. Your heart broke again and again as you heard his broken voice crying for you.
“Kill the child.” Some fly dared to order. The man holding your baby pinned him down while another was holding up a blade ready to swing.
NO
NO
NO
MY BABY
YUUJI MY BABY
LET GO
You gave everything you've got to loosen the chains, dislocating your arm in the process just to give you even a small opening to brutally pry yourself out of the hold. You ignored the searing pain everywhere in your body as you made your way to your crying child.
What you failed to notice was a sorcerer behind you; she took a stance and without hesitation swung the blade right on your back.
You stumbled forward, a gut-wrenching feeling coursing through your veins; you did not even feel the blade because right in front of you, the sorcerer plunged his sword into your Yuuji's chest.
He mercilessly stabbed thrice, “Stop it, soldier!” The woman behind you shouted, and the man hesitated before giving up, muttering curses before stepping away.
You pathetically crawled your way to your baby, blood dragging and pooling around both of you as you took your boy into your weak arms.
“M-mom-mommy…” His weak voice choked out.
“I-I'm so sorry, my baby…” Your shaky vision caught his tearful eyes. You tried your best to hold his bloody body nearer to you.
“I l-love you, my Y-yuuji.” You choked out as you felt his weak heart give out.
Tumblr media
A lone tear started to fall from your eye. Not a second later, like a dam had been forced open, tears freely flowed from your eyes. Emotions of unknown origins weighed heavily on your heart as the face of the pink-haired boy came into view.
“Oh dear gods…my Yuuji.”

As the day drew to a close, the sky became a canvas of vibrant hues, painted with the soft strokes of the setting sun. The bustling energy of the day gradually mellowed into a tranquil serenity as the world around began to wind down. Shadows lengthened, casting a gentle veil over the landscape, while the air became infused with a sense of calm.
Emiri led the way following Seven while he trailed the pink-haired boy through Sendai City to a local hospital. The sky was bright hues of red and orange as half of the sun had disappeared. Emiri released Seven then lounged in one of the chairs in the waiting room as Megumi paced in a dark hall. The boy had entered a room and was yet to come out.
“Yuji Itadori,” Megumi stated, which caused Emiri to glance at him.
“You figured out his name,” Emiri chuckled before she continued tauntingly. “Good for you, Megumi!”
He huffed at her comment before she withdrew her attention from him. The two sat silently for an hour until the boy wandered into the waiting room. He conversed softly with the nurse behind the counter as he filled out papers. Emiri pushed herself to a stand as Megumi lingered behind her. The boy slowly turned as he noticed the two staring at him.
“Yuji Itadori,” Megumi repeated with a menacing tone towards the boy.
The boy hummed in confusion as the two neared him.
“I’m Fushiguro from Jujutsu High,” he gestured to the girl next to him. “This is Hara,”
“We’d like to have a word with you,” Emiri kindly stated as she broke her stance.
“Now,” Megumi urged, partially cutting her off.
“Um,” Yuji stuttered at the sudden confrontation. “I’m, uh, in mourning…right now.”
“Who passed away?” Emiri stepped towards the boy in a comforting manner.
“Emiri…” Megumi growled under his breath as she drew the conversation away from the Curse Object. Emiri waved her hand at him urging him to shut his mouth.
“My grandfather,” Yuji stated reluctantly. “But he was more like a father to me.”
“I’m sorry it had to happen at a time like this and…” she continued as the boy looked over at her.  “I understand, but this can’t wait. The cursed object you possess is very dangerous.”
“I need you to hand it over,” Megumi continued with his cold demeanor.
“Cursed object?” Yuji questioned as he gawked at Megumi.
Megumi reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. He unlocked it and held up the photo of the cursed object, a small circular object wrapped in cloth and placed in a sliding box. Yuji leaned toward the photo.
“Oh, yeah, that,” he responded casually as he leaned against the couch. “I found that. I didn’t think much of it, but my friends were totally into it. What’s dangerous about it?”
Emiri sighed as she listened to Yuji talk. Megumi sighed as he looked up at the boy.
“Every year there are more than ten thousand unexplained deaths and missing persons in Japan. And most of those are the result of curses.” Megumi informed stoically.
“Curses?!” Yuji spat in disbelief.
“I don’t care if you believe in them or not, the fact is they exist.” Megumi continued gruffly.
Emiri watched as Yuji contorted his face in confusion at Megumi.
“Just listen,” she sighed as she neared the boy who had assumed a lying position on the couch. “Large pools of energy form easily in schools, hospitals, and so on. Hardship, regret, shame, these emotions become the source of curses.”
“That’s why most schools secretly keep a cursed object to serve as a protective talisman.” Megumi offered, only to receive a glare from Emiri.
“Just like the one you found,” Emiri continued in a welcoming tone in contrast to Megumi’s blunt attitude.
“If it protects us then shouldn’t we be grateful for it?” Yuji questioned only to have Megumi snap at him.
“Let her finish,” Megumi’s words hung in the air as he let Emiri continue.
“The cursed object needs to be incredibly evil to keep lesser evil curses away, but the protection isn’t permanent.” Emiri sighed as Yuji listened intently. “The problem is the seals weaken overtime, then objects serve as a lure to attract and strengthen other curses.”
“The object you found is a dangerous one,” Megumi warned. “Classified as Special Grade. Now hand it over before people start dying.”
Megumi stuck his hand out roughly and Yuji groaned as he stood.
“I told you that I don’t have it anymore,” he reached into his pocket and threw the small box at Megumi’s chest. “Here’s the box.”
Megumi caught the box and slid the lid open. He shuddered at the sight of the empty box, the indent of where the finger used to be. This whole time they had been following a trace left by the object. Yuji turned to leave the group, but Emiri reached out and gripped his shoulder. He winced at her sudden change in demeanor.
“Hold it! Where is it?!” she growled as Yuji pushed her hand off his shoulder.
“Knock it off,” he sighed. “See, my friends were planning to, uhh…”
“To do what?” Megumi asked sternly.
“Well, they were saying let’s open it up to see what’s inside it…tonight.”
Megumi and Emiri both gasped as they backed away from Yuji. He took note of their horrified expression.
“Uh, why? Is that bad?” he questioned.
“It’s much more than bad,” Megumi stated curtly. “You’re friends…are going to die.”
Yuji’s breath quickened at the statement. He stood in a state of panic for a moment, but he looked up at the two sorcerers and declared he would take him to them. Megumi and Emiri followed Yuji from the hospital, through Senai, and back to the school. The sun had set and the city was left in darkness, only with subtly slivers of moonlight.
“Are talismans that easy to open up?” Yuji questioned as he led them across a bridge.
“No, it’s impossible for those without cursed energy,” Megumi informed as he followed Yuji closely.
“Normally,” Emiri huffed between pants.
“Go right here!” Yuji announced as he took a sharp turn into the trees. “Shortcut!”
“This time the object itself is too strong,” Emiri continued as they shifted directions and the silhouette of the school came into view. “And the seal is ancient, it might as well be plain paper.”
“I still don’t get all this curse stuff,” Yuji sighed.
“Is that the building?” Megumi questioned as they began upstairs. “Where are they?”
“Fourth floor!” Yuji announced as they stopped in front of a gate.
Yuji groaned as he ran into a sort of invisible wall. The building in front of them was crawling with cursed energy, seeping out the windows. The cursed energy had created a sort of barrier of pressure around the building.
“What is this pressure?” Yuji questioned as he looked up.
Megumi and Emiri pushed past him.
“We’ll handle this,” she stated as she began to climb the gate.
“Oh, no way!” Yuji objected as Megumi followed Emiri. “I’m coming!”
Emiri jumped off the top of the gate and Megumi stopped at the top. He looked back at Yuji with a heartless, gruff tone.
“You’re staying here.”
Megumi launched off the gate and followed Emiri into the dimly lit building. She raced up the stairs a few feet ahead of him. The cursed spirit had already been released, and both of them could feel the energy engulfing them as they proceeded further into the building.
“Emiri!” Megumi called after her.
“The curse had been unleashed,” Emiri informed as she continued her rapid pace up the stairs. “It’s presence is everywhere!”
The determination washed over, Gojo’s words repeating in her mind. She could use her power as she pleased, she could use her power to save Yuji’s friends. As Emiri ran up the stairs she folded her hands together. She folded her fingers, leaving her pointers out as she muttered. A pool of purple murkiness appeared by her side and crept into the air.
“Heavenly Hound…”
Beside her, the body of a dog morphed from the darkness of the shadows. First, its glowing green eyes appeared, then the body. Seven howled as his body formed. Megumi caught up to her as he turned the corner and the dog came into view.
His feet slid on the pavement as a small cursed spirit appeared in front of them. It was a small lump of the curse about five feet long with eyes all over its wormy body. Megumi pushed Emiri to the side as he charged the cursed spirit.
“Out of my way!” Megumi shouted as lunged forward. “Demon Dogs!”
He brought his hands together and they slid past each other, his thumb latching with the nook between his pointer and thumb. Next to him two black puddles melted and formed two dogs. One was white with yellow eyes and the other black with red eyes.
“Eat it, boy!” Megumi ordered and the dogs lunged at the curse.
Emiri stood behind with Seven still loyal at her side. The Shikigami she could create were much different than the ones Megumi could. As a descendant of the Zenin Clan, Meguim had inherited the ten Shikigami technique, meaning she could draw forth ten Shikigami from the shadows. When Emiri first summoned Seven it took everything she had, and much more to turn into a real dog, therefore he only attacked when she ordered. To save his strength Emiri used Seven as her last line of defense.
Emir cracked her knuckles before she focused her energy on his palms, her wrists. She could feel the cursed energy flow through her blood as circular handles formed from her wrists and landed in her palms. Then two long, curved, pitch-black katana blades began to reach out in front of her.
“Where are you hiding those?” Megumi chortled as he looked back at her.
Emiri scoffed at Megumi’s comment as she knew he knew how her cursed energy worked. When Emiri was a child, her father pounded nails into her wrists, and to his surprise, her body healed around them. She then used them to draw power off, to create Cursed Tools. Due to the metal embedded in her, Emiri was able to draw her cursed energy towards the metal and form blades.
Megumi took off with his Demon Dogs as Emiri and Seven followed closely. Seven positioned himself at their rear and stood watch at the end of the hall as they turned the corner. As they progressed down the hall the curses grew in number.
“We’re close!” Emiri announced as she slid around another corner.
Megumi stood next to her as the cursed spirit came into view. It was a large lumpy monster with tank skin and janky arms. Its arms were wrapped around a girl as it gnawed on her arm. The creature growled at the sight of Megumi and Emiri.
“There you are,” Megumi growled as his dogs took a stance beside him.
“It’s trying to swallow her and the cursed object!” Emiri announced.
They watched the Cursed Spirit flung around Yuji’s friends. The girl was in its mouth as it tried to swallow her and a man in its arm was screaming. Before Emiri or Megumi could move the window to the left of the spirit shattered. A figure launched through the window and a flash of pink hair.
“Itadori!” Emiri shouted.
The boy ignored her warning as he spun around the cursed spirit. He twisted before he propelled downward and kicked its eyes. The creature howled in pain as Yuji ripped the girl from its mouth, and then grabbed his male friend. Yuji safely landed in the hallway holding his friends tightly.
“This is a curse?” Yuji groaned. “Not what I was expecting.”
Emiri was quick to move as she drew her katana down and lunged for the Curse. She twisted effortlessly as she sliced straight through the monster's thick body. It groaned as it began to disintegrate with purple smoke. Meguim released his dogs and they began to gnaw on the destroyed body of the cursed spirit.
Megumi neared Yuji as Emiri drew her blades down. She flung them around her head until they rested on her back and she released the handle. She brushed off her uniform as she turned to Megumi and Yuji and Seven bounded to her side.
“I should be asking what you’re doing here…but good job.” Megumi groaned.
“You’re pretty smug, aren’t you,” Yuji scoffed.
“See,” Emiri urged as she stood next to Megumi. “You’re a smug bastard.”
Megumi glared at her as Yuji gawked at the dogs.
“Just out of curiosity, what are those things munching on the curse?” he inquired.
“My Shikigami,” Megumi looked back at the dogs. “Wait, you can see them? Normally a curse can’t be seen. Not unless you're on the verge of death or in special places like this.”
“Yeah, that makes more sense. That one too?” Yuji gestured to the black dog at Emiri’s side.
“Yeah,” she whispered as she slightly raised her arm which released Seven from his position.
Seven was extremely similar to a real dog, he had a menacing stance, a killer jaw, and razor-sharp teeth, but he loved people. Everyone, except Gojo, is what Emiri had discovered. He was well trained enough to only greet people when Emiri directed like a service dog. Seven leaped forward at the movement of her arm. Yuji smiled as he leaned down to pet the dog.
“I’ve never seen weird stuff like this.” Yuji sighed as he rubbed the dog.
“Oh,” Emiri sighed at Yuji’s comment. “But you’re not scared?”
“I was, I mean for a little while there,” Yuji admitted softly. “Then I thought…everybody’s gonna die. I might as well give the people I care about a chance at a proper death,” he reached down and pulled the cursed object from his unconscious friend's fingers. “This it?”
“Yeah,” Emiri nodded. “Ryomen Sukana’s finger.”
“It’s a miracle that something didn’t swallow it.” Megumi sighed as she pushed his hair back.
“Why would anyone eat this?” Yuji asked.
“Don’t be dense,” Megumi urged.
“You’d eat it to gain stronger cursed energy.” Emiri offered. “Now, hand it over.”
“Fine,” Yuji sighed as he reached his hand to give her the finger.
As Emiri reached to take the object from Yuji, Megumi looked up. A ginormous blue hand reached out from the ceiling for Emiri as she smiled at Yuji.
“Emi-”

Lessons Sukuna is such a menace goddamn. This man is out here projecting everything onto a baby 😭. Oh, little Daiki, he's so adorable I love him. He deserves to be around people who love him as he is <3. It's kinda funny to imagine Jogo calling him prince like do the curses fawn over him like royalty. Choso mention!! Yayy i can't wait for that family reunion. Yuuji deserves to meet his big brothers. Yuuji is going to med school that's awesome! He's such a good person. I bet he'd be a great doctor. I love that he's got a life planned out beyond just fighting curses. Sukuna watching Daiki while he's out is sweet but there was no way Sukuna wasn't going to be a bastard about it eventually. At least grandma Kenny was kind this time around. Loved Sukuna missing the brat pestering him. The man really sent his little sidekick away only to learn that he actually likes the thing (a little, maybe). If I were Yuuji and I found out my spouse sent our son out with a dangerous body stealing estranged parent I'd be down a spouse and my garden would be well fertilized. Luckily this time it ended well. Sukuna buddy I thought seeing a little baby who looked like you receiving love would be sweet but clearly I underestimated how much your inner child needs to heal. Aww noo he kicked little Daiki’s section of the garden 😢. At least he tried to fix it up. Yuuji really is such a good husband helping Sukuna with his emotions. Those two together are so beautiful. I do wonder how the hell Daiki is going to turn out his home life is ... very unique. Someday some child psychologist is going to have a field day working with him. There will be books published. I do want Sukuna to have a daughter but I wonder how he'd feel if she was a Tom boy who also didn't want to dress up cute or do her hair. I wonder what Daiki’s relationship with his sibling(s) will be like. I hope he's a good big bro but if there's blatant favoritism that'd definitely cause some resentment. A very nice chapter. Thanks for writing and sharing with us!!
Lesson's Sukuna is a menace as he still the king of curses and Yuuji is playing the long game in getting him domesticated to the modern era XD
I wanted Yuuji to go for a career path that would be a challenge for him, as I seem him the sort to enjoy the challenge and probably got advised by Nanami to find a career outside of sorcery... and also a doctor can help someone on the scene when he is on a mission.
Honestly, Yuuji is probably shocked it took until Daiki was four years old for Sukuna to snap and hand him off...which also means something set Sukuna off. Yuuji is a professional Sukuna -whisperer at this point and reading his moods. Very much Sukuna's inner child needs to heal...because he is getting literally jealous of his son having unconditional love and wondering what he did wrong to be so hated growing up 83 Daiki probably has a pretty "normal" upbringing being in a sorcerer family XD;; Given how Gojo and Megumi and all of them seemed to have grown up as. Probably some issues with Kuna (but they will get their big bonding moment not next chapter but the next one!)
Glad you are enjoying the story!

JJK Spoilers #208 pt2
After sleeping on it (actually after reading some really poorly written Arcane smut on AO3 til 2AM to clear my brain of that one really horrible page that was keeping me up... and then sleeping on it) I've come to terms with certain facts.
First of all, the potential I've spent most of my fan labor cultivating just isn't what that one-eyed cat menace cares about as the manga snowballs to its conclusion. And I doubt this will be the last of it.
I was bamboozled. Yuki was given plot weight way back and treated like a rare, powerful female special grade. The oldest special grade. She was in single possession of an entire polar end to the CE solution. She got pages where she's plotting something and talking to unnamed people and things left were open ended. Having Geto's former acolyte on her side even. What was up with that? Her meeting with Gojo way back we didn't get to see.
She and Gojo weren't that far off. She cared about the kids too. She had a cool student of her own. Todo is a smart tactician, morally sound, and shared some of her odd habits. We saw them together one time, but I guess at least he has that scar to remember her by. Then we got Maki achieving zero CE and never meeting her again. Was that all in my mind as being an interesting meeting?
I didn't need her to win at the end of it all, but I needed some of that at least in her thoughts when she's closing in on the end of her life. Not spending her emotional labor on that yeehaw man she just met.
Put all that in the bin. She actually has no agency in this story. It's a bummer, but fine. You really got me, Gege. But learning from that I retroactively I need to look back at my other pet favorites.
Like Nobara coming back and her CT being perfect to target Kenjaku's brain through his defenses should they establish a link via some sleuthing to his physical origins. Or to damage Sukuna without damaging Yuji via the other fingers. Her CT was actually really cool and powerful and specifically helpful to that original storyline with the trio. Especially for Yuji, who along with Megumi, she had a vested interest in helping survive his fate.
With this mad rush to the end of the manga Gege's on and several other overpowered characters already with Mary Poppins level asspull potential... Nobara's actual CT advantage isn't needed and would just take too many pages to set up now anyway with this 1 year deadline. She can just stay in her long nap at this point. Stupider things could happen to her if she rejoins the story too.
Also, Maki's zero CE doesn't have any tie in back to the broader CE discussion now. Yuki was it. She's in the danger zone with no asspull buffs comparable to those deemed to matter. She doesn't even have extra weapons storage. The best potential she's got now is to motivate Yuta when she dies. Characters like Panda and Nobara who she had friendships with aren't important going forward so who is she even interacting with? Giving pep talks to Noritoshi some more? Awkward family reunion with Megumi?
So I'm just not seeing much future for characters or plotlines I've long liked. Even when they are given every indication to be important that's never going to come ahead of the narrower path Gege is swiftly going down. I can really see how this is ending in a year.
I'm going to go on a hiatus. I think reading big chucks someday will help me get through it. And if I glance in and it gets even worse maybe not even that.
The strange thing is I still really like the years of fandom'verse that came from this. I don't feel like everything is torched. I can forget a lot of this even happened and keep enjoying the bits I like until the heat death of AO3. There's that.

BEFORE READING, I NEED YOU TO BE AWARE OF THIS:
1. the whole story belongs to Gege Akutami and the credits go to them and them only.
2. the spell curses used belong to Tite Kubo due to them being the ‘Kidos’ being used on the manga and anime ‘Bleach’.
there was one going to be mention but...let’s keep that a secret for now...
2.5. for the ‘cursed spells’/kidos (bleach) i will link this video here and tell you the time stamp to check out what i am intending to show - remember i add a few twist here and there by adding the katana to link with Y/N’s cursed technique : hopefully this video is slightly better...
3. if you are confused on anything, please don’t hesitate to message me since i know this whole thing is so confusing.
Tumblr media
“Kanada Taichi in Morioka, in June. Shimada Osamu in Yokohama, in August. Yamato Hiroshi in Nagoya, in September. These three died in similar circumstances. They were stabbed to death by a cursed spirit at the entrances to their apartments and all of them had filed the same complaint with the property managers several weeks before dying. They claimed their auto-locking doors were left wide open. None of the other residents have any idea what could have happened,” Nitta (your current driver) explained, causing you to open your eyes slowly, letting your drowsiness fade away slowly.
Currently, at this moment in time, you and your classmates were being driven to your desired destination to your current mission that all four of you were set causing you to wonder how much longer the drive was going to be, but also how you were going to cope with dealing with the whole ordeal since it had been a while since you had gone on a mission dealing with the unknown - last time was over two months ago at the detention centre where you had to face Sukuna (a special grade curse).
“None of the dates or locations match, though. Could the same cursed spirit have killed them all?” Fushiguro questioned as he stared down at the Ipad he had in his hands while trying to read all the information that was provided.
‘There is one location they all have in common though’ you thought, as you turned your head to stare out of the window, recalling the time where you had read the same information on your phone during breakfast with your adoptive father, Gojo Satoru.
“Hey, could the cursed spirit be responsible for the doors? Do sensors like those pick up cursed spirits? They don’t show up on camera and stuff, right?” Itadori began to ask an abundance of questions causing you to internally giggle as some of the questions he asked were basic knowledge for jujutsu sorcerers, but it was adorable for him to try to find a solution.
“Apparently, the cursed spirit made the door operators go crazy, not the sensors,” Nitta answered, leading you to give a side-eye to indicate that you were listening to her before going back to peer at the window to figure out a solution of your own about the current situation.
“Oh...Operators?” Itadori muttered in confusion as he tilted his head slightly to the side.
“And as for whether or not the same cursed spirit was behind this...Well, we couldn’t be certain from just the residuals. After all, a lot of time had already passed. So we tried to track down any connections between the three, we found that all three attended the same middle school for two years,” Nitta mentioned causing you to stiffen up slightly on the information given to you.
“Meaning all three received the same curse, and it activated after time had passed?” Kugisaki suggested with a thinking gesture causing Itadori to make a noise of impressiveness before leaning forward to view the female sorcerer.
“Precisely. That’s highly likely. So we’re going to that middle school now to question someone the three victims all knew, and I want you four to see what you can find as sorcerers,” Nitta answered leading you to sigh (to which she slyly notices) before you processed to close your eyes as if you were going to nap for a bit.
“Way to go, Kugisaki!” Itadori mentioned in astonishment leading the mentioned sorcerer to flick her hair back.
“Heh. What’d you expect?” Kugisaki questioned smugly.
However, without the attention of all three of you, Fushiguro seemed to be annoyed as he leaned his head back onto the chair seats before letting out a sigh of his own, wondering how he was going to handle this situation now.
                                              ꕥ
“A funeral?” Itadori questioned, as you processed to exit out of the car leading you to see a few people wearing all black, entering into a building before shutting the door quietly to not disturb the mourners that were attending the disheartening event.
“Is this the home of that acquaintance?” Kugisaki asked as she was also looking at the darkening event that was happening.
“Yes, it is…” NItta answered in a stutter leading everyone to get back in the car since there was no possible way, all of you could even interview someone properly during this time since it would be considered extremely rude.
                                               ꕥ
“Well, this sucks. He dies the same way the other three did. He lived with his family, so there was no auto-locking door, but he was killed in front of the entrance. Previously, upon returning home alone, he reported, “The door was unlocked, but it wouldn’t open,” to his family members,” Nitta explained, as you processed to scan through all the documents through your phone trying to obtain some sort of connection between all the victims rather than the middle school that they attended to.
‘Date of birth 1983-1984...that means they were in middle school at around 1995-1998...Yasohachi Bridge was popular back then, right?’
Suddenly, the car had come to a sudden halt causing you to look up from your phone, only to discover that you had arrived at the location that Nitta had discussed to everyone at the beginning leading you to look up that the building from the side of your window before slowly letting out a breath as you processed to open the car door to go and investigate with the others.
“I asked his parents, too, but they said they didn’t know what relationship he had with the other three. Man, there goes our only lead!” Nitta whined loudly, as everyone began to enter the school premises causing you to halt for a second before you continued to stroll behind them, trying to make sure your classmates didn’t notice your fidgeting behaviour.
“Don’t worry! There has to be something at this middle school!” Itadori reassured Nitta as she looked disappointed with her head hanging low.
“I sure hope so. For now, I’ve secured an appointment with a teacher, so I’m counting on you,” Nitta replied with a disheartened tone.
“Roger,” Itadori replied with a determined smile.
Suddenly, Kugisaki (who had her hands behind her head in the beginning) unexpectedly had a mischievous smile painted on her face before quickly running off to the side causing you to look at her with a raised eyebrow as you wondered what she was planning on doing.
“There’s some obvious punks, let’s beat’em up and set’em straight!” Kugisaki suggested causing you to walk up to her with your hand raised since she was going completely off-topic with what everyone was supposed to do currently.
“Why?” Itadori asked in a confused tone.
Slowly, the two punks that Kugisaki mentioned began to straightening up with menacing looks on their face, leading Itadori to lean forward to observe the two, only for them to suddenly straighten up more in sudden fear, causing you to be somewhat confused on why there was a sudden change in expression, only for your eyes to follow what they were looking at.
“I-It’s good to see you!” the pucks shouted while processing to bow 90 degrees with their heads lowered causing you to turn back to them with widened eyes at what was going on.
“Heh, look at that. You actually get it,” Kugisaki stated with a smug look on her face causing you to give her a fed-up look towards her direction while trying to figure out why Itadori was joining in her shenanigans.
“An aura just pours out, even if you try to hide it,” Itadori mentioned as he pushed his hair back leading you to ignore both of your classmates and you processed to look around the school trying to find some clues while noticing slight hints of cursed energy roaming around the premises.
“We haven’t seen you since graduation, Fushiguro-san!” one of the punks mentioned, causing the two smug sorcerers to drop their act before quickly turning around to see Fushiguro, who was now looking to the side in embarrassment.
“I...went here...for middle school,” Fushiguro announced before turning his back to face behind him to avoid his classmates, only for them to violently grab his face as they tried to make his turn to face them.
“That’s a surprise, too, but that’s not the point! Look at me!” Kugisaki angrily demanded, as she forcibly turned Fushiguro’s face to look at her with a struggle as Itadori had a hold of the shikigami sorcerer’s head to make it face him.
“What’d you do?! What did you do in middle school?! No, it would be quicker to ask them!” Itadori mentioned in a panic, as he was desperate to find an answer.
“Hey, Idiot A and Idiot B! What did this guy do to you?” Kugisaki yelled out her question, while still having a hold on Fushiguro’s face.
“We...Or rather, every delinquent, gang member, and so on in this area got beaten up by Fushiguro-san,” one of the punks answered, as both of them lifted their heads leading both Itadori and Kugisaki to let go of their friend’s face in shock before turning back to face him in confusion, looking for answers.
“I beat them up,” Fushiguro muttered as he turned his head back with his now messed up hair, leading Itadori and Kugisaki to grab his face again in complete surprise.
“Why do you keep talking so stiffly?! Look at me!” Kugisaki angrily asked as she painfully turned Fushiguro’s face to look at her.
“What are you doing?! Hey! What are you doing?!” Itadori asked in a panic, once again, as he now turned Fushiguro’s head to face him.
“Wow~ you beat up people Fushiguro, what a drag~” you commented with a hand over your mouth leading the erratic-haired sorcerer to look to you for help only for you to turn away to observe the school’s premises again, trying to gain something for the mission at hand.
“Hey!” someone shouted, causing both of the sorcerers to let go of Fushiguro’s face which led his hair to bounce a bit. Turning around to face the front, you noticed an old man with glasses running up towards you guys leading your eyes to widen once you had gotten a good look at who was coming towards everyone.
“Who are you? Students from other schools aren’t allowed in here!” the old man stated with a loud tone.
“And who the hell are you?!” Kugisaki yelled back in anger, causing you to smack the back of her head as if to tell her to ‘shut up’ which caused her to look up at you with a pout as she held her head to soothe the pain away.
“He’s clearly a staff member. Why are you so combative?” Itadori questioned in a low tone as he began to slouch.
“We have permission to be here,’ Nitta informed the staff member while processing to show the pass that she was carrying leading the old man to adjust his glasses as he peered at the pass she was currently holding.
“Oh, you’re the ones? You’re all young, you need to hang your pass around your neck,” the old man mentioned as began to observe the group of students behind her before his eyes widened once they handed on a certain someone.
“Fushiguro-kun?”
“Hello,” Fushiguro greeted, as he looked to the side with a small blush beginning to appear on his face.
“He remembers you!” Itadori and Kugisaki mentioned in a teasing tone as they looked at their classmate with an amused look.
“So this man’s been here a long time?” NItta asked with a cheerful tone, leading you to conclude that she probably had gained hope for a new lead on the mission that was happening right now.
“Probably, Takeda-san’s a permanent employee,” Fushiguro answered in a monotone voice.
“Then I leave the rest to you!” Nitta concluded, to which she held a thumbs up as if it was some sort of encouragement.
‘Abandoning her duty....’ Fushiguro thought, before shifting his eyes towards you as he realised that you had become quiet again, only to discover that you were looking at Takeda with some sort of fondness in your eyes as a small but noticeable smile appeared on your face.
‘It’s been a while, hasn’t it Takeda-san? How are you? You’ve been okay? I wish I could ask you this..but...it’s for the best that I didn’t at all huh?’ you thought before turning your head to look at the windows beside you, only to realise that the same hint of cursed energy was still lingering around.
‘I’m surprised it remains here…’ you mentioned internally before turning back to look at the staff member in front of you.
                                              ꕥ
“Kanada, Shimada, Yamato...and Morishita, huh? I was shocked by their passing, but I guess it’s been nearly twenty years since they graduated, I remember it like it was yesterday. They were problem children in their own right, though not as bad as you. What do you want to know?” Takeda mentioned with a soft smile causing you to scoff a bit at his comment as you covered your mouth to hold your laugh but to Fushiguro’s annoyance.
“Strange rumours, dark rumours, connections to bad adults…” Fushiguro listed as he raised his arm, leading you to look at him weirdly since it wasn’t the arm towards your side he had lifted.
“Hey, problem child!” Itadori and Kugisaki chanted in a teasing tone.
“...and anything of ill omen,” Fushiguro concluded before closing his hand into a fist as he proceeded to swing it down to punch the top of Itadori’s head.
“Dark rumours? They may have been problem children, but they never went beyond average middle school stuff. But wait...ill omen?” Takeda muttered as he began to think.
“Do you mean that tale? About the Yasohachi Bridge bungee jumping?” one of the punks questioned, causing you to look to the side in interest since you had an idea about the bridge before you had arrived at the middle school.
“You’re still here, A and B?” Kugisaki asked since she was surprised that they remained where they were.
“Yasohachi Bridge?” Itadori questioned.
“A notorious suicide spot, it’s well known in this area as a haunted location,” you answered in a casual tone before explaining why it was such an important detail to note for your pink-haired classmate.
“Oh, that’s right! Back then, it was all the rage among delinquents to bungee jump off Yasohachi Bridge late at night, it was one of those tests of courage,” Takeda explained, once he remembered what he was trying to think of.
“What a weird tribe,” Kugisaki muttered in annoyance.
“What a drag,” you mentioned in a fed-up tone.
“I’m surprised there are people dumber than me!” Itadori stated.
“What do you use for a cord?” Fushiguro questioned as he was trying to wonder how the people bungee jumped in the first place.
“We don’t do it, I just heard some students from our parents’ generation talking about it,” the punk mentioned causing you to nod your head slowly, conveying that you understood what he meant.
“One day, Kanada and the other three were absent without permission. That wasn’t all that usual by itself, but when we contacted their families, we learned that those four hadn’t come home the day before. It caused a pretty big stir, then they were found unconscious under the bridge. They got chewed out good, but all four swore up and down they didn’t remember a thing,” Takeda explained, causing all the first years to come to the same conclusion in their heads.
                                               ꕥ
“I think that’s it,” Nitta suggested as she looked at all four of you.
“I’ve been to Yasohachi Bridge, too,” Fushiguro mentioned in a serious tone.
“To bungee jump?” Itadori asked comedically, leading Fushiguro to swiftly smash a fist on the top of his head in annoyance causing Itadori to wince in pain as he held his head with a pout.
“It’s easy for curses to take root in haunted locations, just like in schools, so people from Jujutsu High regularly patrol it,” Fushiguro explained causing you to recall the times where you would walk around the area late at night while trying to hide from the sorcerers that came from time to time back a few years ago.
“There wasn’t anything unusual at the time, though. It might be a bit famous, but it’s still used as a normal bridge,” Fushiguro mentioned.
“We still have to go check it out, though,” Kugisaki suggested, causing you to agree with her since it was the best for all the four of you to survey the bridge yourselves.
“Fushiguro-kun?” someone called out, causing everyone to turn to find Takeda coming towards everyone’s way.
“Sorry, I was curious about something,” Takeda mentioned causing Fushiguro to fully turn around to face the old man.
“What is it?” Fushiguro asked.
“Tsukimi-kun took awfully good care of you when you were in school. Is she doing well?” the old man asked, causing you to stiffen up slightly before shifting your eyes to the side since you were getting nervous at the fact the staff member was remembering everyone little by little.
“Yes,” Fushiguro answered with a deadpan expression.
“Who’s Tsumiki?” Itadori asked the shikigami user in curiosity.
“My older sister,” Fushiguro answered in a low tone, leading Kugisaki to grab his shoulder in surprise once again.
“What?! You tell us too little about yourself!” Kugisaki mentioned in an annoyed tone leading Itadori to agree with her, leading the old man to tilt his head slightly to the side - to avoid the blockage of Itadori’s body - to discover you making your way to the side of the car, where you were sitting before.
“Excuse me, I also wanted to ask you something if you don’t mind,” Takeda asked in a kind tone, causing you to halt your movements before looking up to find the old man gifting you with a sweet smile that you remembered so much causing you to turn back and make your way towards the staff-member with lessening the tension that you had before walking away.
“Yeah, it’s fine, what is it you want to ask me?” you questioned with a light tone, trying to sound polite to the man, causing him to smile at you.
“Do I remember you from anywhere, you seem quite familiar to me?” Takeda asked, causing your eyes to widen in fear before quickly blinking away the sudden change in emotion you were surprisingly expressing so easily.
“I never been to Saitama Urami East Junior High before, I’m sorry but I don’t think I’m the person you are trying to recall,” you answered with a sad soft smile leading the man to sigh before fixing his glasses.
“Is that so? I’m sorry, the minute I saw you, I began to recall a student that would always help me around from time to time and she was always on top of her work, but she left around the second year before I got to thank her,” the old man began to reminisce, not noticing the stiffness of your body as well as the panic rising within your heart leading it to beat faster than it should.
‘He’s remembering too much, but didn’t I put enough cursed energy into that spell? It should have wiped everything from his memory’
“Sorry, but could you look at my left eye for a second? I think I got an eyelash stuck there,” you quickly asked, causing the old man to agree to help you as he adjusted his glasses once again before taking a good look at your eye.
‘It could cast it now, but the others are here...I could just not use the spell to its full potential and that couldn’t cause him to faint, maybe that will work,’ you quickly thought as you were slowly transferring a small amount of your cursed energy to your left eye.
“Haku-” you muttered under your breath before coming to a sudden halt, causing your cursed energy to waver slightly as it began to slowly move away from your eye leading you to conclude that you didn’t even have the guts to commit to the action that you were planning to go on with like you did two years ago, to which caused your heart to become extremely heavy with guilt as you knew once he entered back into the school, the lingering cursed energy that you had left in the school would cause his memory to fade away, processing you to let go of your sudden plan as the staff-member mentioned that there was nothing to worry about.
‘Nothing to worry about huh?’
“Thank you so much,” you softly said with gratitude before giving the old man a final wave goodbye before entering the car with the rest of your classmates, wondering if it was still for the best that you let him free with his memory gradually coming back to life.
                                              ꕥ
“We’re here. Koi no Kuchi Canyon, Yasohachi Bridge. Once you confirm a cursed spirit’s here, I’ll lower a veil,” Nitta explained as all of the first years processed to get out of the sleek black vehicle before stepping to the side of the bridge to be away from the road.
“Roger!” Itadori started with a confident smile presented on his face as he tugged at the vinyl cord he was holding.
Slowly, you began to walk away from the group while Nitta got back in her car before driving away and steadily grabbed onto the metal poles the were in front of you - probably built to prevent any more suicidal people from jumping over - and with much effort, began to pull yourself up to reach to the top before grabbing in the metal bar as you pulled yourself up even further.
“GOJO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Kugisaki screamed in horror, as she finally turned around to discover you pulled your body up to sit on top of the fence as you peered down to check how far you had to jump down in order to find what you were looking for in this mission.
“SHE’S NOT LISTENING!” Kugisaki yelled (once again) as she pointed at you in anger, causing the boys to turn around to see what the fuss was about before seeing the drastic measures you had taken to find the cursed spirit.
“Woah, Gojo, there’s no need for that! We have the vinyl cord for a reason!” Itadori mentioned, which seemed to be a way of getting you to come down from where you were right now as you turned to look at him before turning back at the ground below you.
“SHE’S NOT LISTENING AGAIN!” Itadori cried out in fear, as if he hadn’t done more stupid and extremes things than what you were doing right now.
“Gojo!” Fushiguro shouted before jumping up to reach the back of your school jacket, leading you to grab onto the sides of the metal bar that you were sitting on right now for support before turning back to peer at the shikigami user, ready to yell at him for disturbing your train of thought only for him to give you a pair of surprised eyes as if he remembered something.
“Get down, please,” Fushiguro quietly commanded, leading you to give him a deadpan expression before turning back to prepare to jump off since you couldn’t find another way to get down there, only for Fushiguro to pull you from your jacket once again leading your body to start to fall backwards - much to your surprise - to which caused the boys to immediately get behind you, ready to catch you so you didn’t hit the ground at all.
“You drag!” you screamed at Fushiguro before letting your body fall towards the safe side of the metal barrier, processing to land on top of Itadori and Fushiguro as a result.
                                              ꕥ
Letting out a yawn, Itadori couldn’t help but emphasise how tired and bored he was as he remained seated on the metal railings that all four of you were sitting on right now.
“Hey, we didn’t find hide nor hair of any cursed spirit,” Kugisaki whined in annoyance as her posture slouch in disappointment, leaving Fushiguro to slouch in boredom while you had your eyes closed as if you were sleeping while sitting up straight when in reality, you were concentrating on sensing any lingering cursed energy around the area you were in right now.
Suddenly, you felt something pressed gently on the side of your head before it pushed you down to the side slowly, causing the movement to halt the second you felt someone’s shoulder being used as a pillow for your head leading a sense of confusion to rise within your stomach before you heard a few teasing sounds from Kugisaki.
“Oh~ what a gentleman Fushiguro~” Kugisaki teased, leading you to realise that your head was now resting on Fushiguro’s shoulder since it did seem like you had fallen asleep while sitting up.
“I’m surprised she can sleep while sitting up,” Itadori commented, as she leaned forward to see you in what seemed to be in a state of rest since you made the decision to keep your eyes closed.
“You should have seen her while we were training, she was asleep for so long every day,” Kugisaki mentioned as she began to recall all the times you had taken a nap during your daily training sessions with the second-years as preparation for the Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event.
                                              ꕥ
As time went by, after you had ‘woken up’ from your nap when in reality, you had given up on trying to trace a single amount of cursed energy from the distance you were away from the ground below - which was where you were trying to go from the beginning if Fushiguro didn’t pull you down - you were now in front of a small convenience store while sipping on a small carton of orange juice that you had managed to purchase as a breakfast substitute since you were surprisingly not feeling hungry at all currently.
“We didn’t sense any presences or residuals,” Fushiguro informed Nitta, who had come to pick you three up after not hearing a single thing from everything, except for all of you being hungry.
“I see, which means this ain’t it, Guess it’s back to square one,” Nitta replied with a slight tone of disappointment as the most promising lead has been for nothing.
‘It wouldn’t be square one if you just let me jump down to the bottom to investigate…’
“Gojo, is there something wrong?” Kugisaki asked as she noticed you looking to the side with a somewhat annoyed expression planted on your face.
“It’s nothing,” you replied before taking another sip from the carton you were holding.
“But isn’t it bad if we take too long?” Itadori asked in a light serious tone.
“Why?” Kugisaki questioned, wondering why they needed to be in a hurry to finish the mission as soon as possible.
“Well, it’s a famous haunted location, right? There might still be plenty of others who got cursed and right now, the death rates at 100%. We don’t want to see others die, right?” Itadori explained as he answered Kugisaki’s previous question.
“True,” Kugisaki muttered, once she took Itadori’s theory into consideration.
“Ding-Ding! Bungee jumping was all the rage then, right? So maybe the act of jumping off is the key?” Nitta asked as she seemed excited to think of another clue on how to find the curses that were the curse for all these deaths that have been happening.
“Did she say “ding-ding”? Did she really say that?” Itadori asked as he stared at his senior in adoration.
“She did! She did!” Kugisaki replied in the same high tone with the same look at adoration at how cute Nitta was right now.
“Itadori already tried that,” Fushiguro mentioned causing the bungee jump idea to come to a halt.
“Huh?..... What?! You mean you jumped with that vinyl cord?!” Nitta screamed in shock as she began to imagine how you, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki would wrap Itadori in the cord, only for the shikigami user to fly kick him over the metal bar with you and Kugisaki holding onto the end of the cord.
“Hey, there you are!” someone shouted, causing you to look towards the direction in where the sound was coming from, only to discover one of the punks from yesterday to be on a bike with someone behind him with her arms wrapped around his waist.
“Fushiguro-san!” the punk shouted to gain the shikigami user’s attention.
“Who’s that again?” Kugisaki asked as she stared at the punk with a confused expression only for Itadori to answer her question by mentioning the people were Fushiguro’s upperclassman from his middle school and how she was ready to pick a fight with them causing her to suddenly remember who the person was.
“You were talking about Yasohachi Bridge, so...I’m really glad I found you here!” the puck mentioned with a smile on his face with slight sweat from the swift bike riding as well as a hint of fear of Fushiguro.
‘Fujinuma?...If I recall, she was a student as well…’ you thought, as you watched the girl get off of the bike she was on before walking towards the group as her eyes widened at you for a second before turning into complete confusion, leading your body to complete tense for a second.
“Fujinuma?” Fushiguro muttered causing Nitta to look at him with a perplexed expression before he clarified that she was an old classmate of his.
“My older sister,” the punk introduced the girl leading her to bow as a greeting.
“I’m glad you remember me,” Fujinuma stated in a soft-toned voice before straightening back up to face everyone within the group.
“I was talking to my sister about you yesterday, and..” the punk stated before his sister took the reins.
“Um, Morishita-san had a funeral in the neighbourhood...Then I heard from my brother that you were looking into that man and Tasohachi Bridge, so I started to wonder if they were related…” Fujinuma began to explain, leading Nitta from behind both of the people to shake her head as they needed to hide the real reason on why everyone was here right now to which Fushiguro noticed.
“If what’s related?” Fushiguro queried as if he didn’t understand what was going on.
“Morishita-san’s death and the bridge…” Fujinuma replied in a smaller tone.
“They’re not related, we just-” Fushiguro quickly countered back.
“I...I went there. In eighth grade...I went to Yasohachi Bridge at night,” Fujinuma stated as her face contorted in fear as she began to tilt her head down, causing Kugisaki to give a look as she began to wonder how many people had been to that bridge.
“Has anything odd happened at home recently? Any strange feelings that only affect you and no one else?” Nitta asked as she leaned down to face the fearful girl, only for Fujinuma to look up once again.
“My family runs a local branch shop...and the shop’s automatic door is wide open only when I come home. Mom and Dad both say it’s just a coincidence, but there’s definitely something there. It scared me. That’s when I heard about you and remembered the Yasohachi Bridge,” the girl replied as she began to shiver in fear while trying to recall all the same incidents happening to her.
“When did the issue with your automatic door start?” Nitta queried, trying to get enough information as sly as possible.
“It’s happened about every other day for exactly one week now,” Fujinuma replied in a shaky tone.
‘There’s at least two weeks between when the four victims noticed something and their deaths,’ Fushiguro thought.
‘We still have some time,’ Itadori thought, encouraged by the fact that there was some amount of time left to save someone from the cycle that was happening right now.
“You didn’t go to Yasohachi Bridge by yourself at the time, did you? Do you remember who you went with?” Kugisaki asked, trying to make sure there weren't any other victims that you all were missing at this current moment in time.
“Um, so this really does have something to do with…” Fujinuma mentioned in a stutter, scared that her life might now be at risk.
“Just with your automatic door. But it has nothing to do with Morishita-sans’s death. Fushiguro-kun and the others are helping me with my college report: Electromagnetic Waves from Haunted Locations and their Effects on Electronics, it’s a huge pain in my gut!” Nitta responded quickly, before suddenly linking arms with you causing you to put on a realistic fake smile to hold the lie in place.
“But I want to hear from all kinds of people, so I’d love to hear who you went with,” Nitta continued, trying to make the girl calm herself down while reminding her the fact that they now have to save her life before something could happen to her.
“I went on a test of courage with two others from my club. That’s right. Fushiguro-kun, Tsumiki-san was with us then, too,” Fujinuma announced, causing you to halt for a second while Itadori and Kugisaki were shocked at the fact that Fushiguro’s sister was involved in this too.
“I see. Then I’ll try asking Tsumiki, too,” Fushiguro replied calmly.
“There was also another person there at the bottom of the bridge, but I don’t remember really clearly of her at all...she was wearing our uniform thought, sort of reminds me of her,” Fujinuma stated as she pointed off to somewhere, leading your whole body to become suddenly numb at the fact that her finger was directing pointing at you causing your classmates to turn to you in fear at what might happening to you if her statement was true.
“Sorry, but I never been here at all, maybe you have the wrong person?” you unconcernedly suggested, trying to change you from being the topic of the conversation leading the girl to look confused again before gasping on how silly she was being before mentioning that she had never even met you and that she apologised for scaring you.
“Okay, then I’ll escort these two home. Please keep working on the report,” Nitta mentioned to the four of you with a smile on her face.
“Something’s up, isn’t it?” Fujinuma’s brother asked leading Nitta to form another excuse on how she could let them ride a bike back after making them petal all the way here, causing you to turn around and take a deep breath the second they began walking away.
“Fushiguro,” Itadori called out in worry before repeating his name again louder as he proceeded to grab onto his friend’s shoulder, only to see the look of unknown fear painted across Fushiguro’s face.
“Fushiguro, snap out of it, make sure she’s safe first,” Itadori muttered in reassurance, as he turned his body to face his friend to help him calm down.
“I’m fine,” Fushiguro muttered in a low tone, once he was able to snap out of his fear daze but apologising to his friend as he needed to take a step back for a second before reaching into his pocket to grab his phone to make a call leaving Kugisaki to come to your side and ask a few questions for you to answer.
“What was she talking about? Were you really a part of that school? Were you really at Yasohachi bridge back then? Answer me, Gojo!” Kugisaki asked in a panic, as you just stared at her with a blank look on your face before letting out a sigh.
“I’ve never been there before until yesterday, I have never been here at all, to begin with. There is no way I could be at that bridge,” you answered, trying to convert the conversation into something different, only for Itadori to turn his body to face you directly as he questioned you again about your ‘involvement’ in everything that's happening right now.
“Why are random people saying if they remember you then, does your cursed technique allow you to manipulate someone’s mind or anything?” Itadori asked as he needed to understand why a few people mentioned about you when you had said you have never been here at this location ever in your life.
“I don’t have a technique that does that, they have been talking about a girl that looks like me,” you answered while proceeding to cross your arms to stay as persuasive as you could while trying to hide a piece of your past that you had already somewhat erased out of everyone’s minds.
‘If they are somehow recalling some bits here and there...what about Fushiguro?’ you thought as you closed your eyes to lessen the headache that was gradually coming from the back of your head.
‘There isn’t enough time to think about it at all...these three need to get out of here before I go investigate the whole thing myself...that is...if my theory is correct like last time’
Suddenly, you reached into the pocket of your skirt before taking out your phone to swiftly call Nitta to pick everyone up from where she had left all of you causing Itadori and Kugisaki to look at you in complete confusion.
                                              ꕥ
“Just get in the car,” you commanded in a low and threatening tone, causing the three first-years to look at you in shock before all three were pushing down into the back seats of the car.
“Us three? What about you Gojo?” Itadori asked in a panic, as he wasn’t sure why you were pushing everyone into the car that Nitta was pulled in - to which she understood why you were doing this at this moment in time.
“The mission has gone into a higher rank than what it was previously predicted, I’ll come back once I’m done with the whole thing,” you stated in a serious manner as you processed to push Itadori further into the car causing Fushiguro and Kugisaki to be squashed behind him before slamming the car door shut before anyone could escape out of the vehicle leaving you alone once the car had driven off with all three of your classmates inside of it.
                                              ꕥ
‘If I remember, you go down here’ you thought, as you began to slide down to the bottom of the ground before walking forward out of the wood, to only find yourself in the same spot you were two years ago in a different sort of uniform.
Taking your katana out of the shoulder bag you were carrying, you hooked it on your lower back before taking the familiar blue metal pole out of the same back before hooking it on to the side of your belt causing it to dangle once it was secured onto your side.
‘If my theory was right along, there should be an incomplete domain lingering around here...meaning there is a possibility that Sukuna’s finger is within a finger bearer if I enter it…’
“What a drag,” you muttered under your breath before sliding your katana out of its wooden sheath as you swift swang it behind you, causing the tip of the blade to be an inch away from Itadori’s neck to which lead the sorcerer to lean his head back in shock as your sudden speed.
“Why are you all here? Didn’t I tell you all to go home and I would deal with this?” you rhetorically asked as you pulled your katana back from Itadori leading him to relax as he let out a breath of relief.
“Fushiguro told us everything and that's what led us to help you out,” Kugisaki mentioned causing your eyes to shift from her to the shikigami user.
“We don’t want you to do this alone, you don’t have to tell us everything you are hiding Gojo, just let us help you,” Itadori pleaded with you as his hands were pressed together in a way to convey a ‘please’ to you.
“I...I can’t tell you anything...I’m sorry,” you muttered, as you slide your katana back into its black wooden casing, causing the trio to look at you with worry in their eyes as they were anxious that the secret you were keeping was something that was going to eat you inside as they were already cautious about your wellbeing if the cursed spirit was now going to target you due to Fujinuma sudden assumption.
                                              ꕥ
After the sudden intrusion of your classmates (much to your dismay), everyone started to walk towards the area where everyone believed the domain was going to be.
Crossing a river or other border - acts that symbolise crossing into the afterlife - carry important meaning in sorcery.
Confidently, everyone took one step forward causing a reaction of electricity to conduct as your foot hit the ground causing it to erupt as the domain suddenly enclosed everyone that had taken a step within its territory.
“There it is,” Itadori stated as he stared up at the curse, leading everyone to prepare themselves with their weapons of choice.
“This one will be rewarding to exorcise,” Kugisaki commented, as she confidently smiled at the scene in front of her.
Suddenly, you had sensed something coming from behind causing you to turn your head to the side to find a disgusting looking creature coming towards you leading everyone to move away slightly as the creature spun in the air before landing in front of all of you.
“What’s this? Someone beat me here?” the creature asked in a weird voice.
“Huh?” Kugisaki yelled out in annoyance.
“Fushiguro, this one’s a different case, right?” Itadori asked as he faced the new cursed spirit that decided to make an appearance.
“Yeah,” Fushiguro confirmed, leading Itadori to close his hands into a fist as they suddenly became consumed with his cursed energy.
“Then you three focus on that other one, I’ll exorcise this one,” Itadori stated as he raised his hands.
“What? You’re going to play with me? I wanted the older sister to,” the curse asked, causing you to shiver as you came to the sudden realisation that this curse was most likely with the others that were at the Kyoto Exchange event.
However, before even one could even move you rapidly unsheath your katana from your wooden casing as you spun around to block the sudden sneak attack that was behind you before utilising your cursed energy to your legs to give you the strength to halt your movement as the sudden intruder in front of you widened their eyes in shock at your sudden speed.
“That isn’t going to work on me again, you drag,” you muttered in a menacing tone causing your new opponent to laugh as they snapped out of their shock.
“Please, call me your mother again,” the woman stated as she smirked at you, leading a wave of anger and excitement to consume your body.
“Please, I….can’t wait to kill you,” you replied back with a crazed smile.

After the fushiguro and maneater!reader as the slandering duo of Jujutsu High, I hereby come back offering you the soft version of this headcanon cause now I can't get it out of my head, so let's cry together.
Megumi was never the type for affection. He doesn't know if it's because of his family history, because of a father who was never there in the first place and a mother that died too soon, or for whatever else reason. Megumi doesn't like thinking it's because of his parents, because of his family. He doesn't like giving his dad too much credit when he can't even remember his face in the first place, he doesn't like putting his mother at fault when she had none. He doesn't like the thought of still being affected by things happened so long ago and that should just stay in the past. Because he especially doesn't like the thought of having unresolved matters, of holding a grudge for how things "could have been", because he knows he holds no resentment at all. So, why, why would this affect him?
He, instead, likes thinking that he's just like that. Megumi knows he likes having his boundaries, maybe that's all.
He's just like that. Wrinkles his nose at the mere mention of affection, and when his friends tease him about how obvious he's being about his distaste, megumi even rolls his eyes, muttering about how he was never trying to be subtle in the first place.
Fushiguro prefers it when people keep their distance from him, both physically and metaphorically. When young he would swat away his sister's hands trying to mess up his hair, and in the same fashion now he turns away more than a little miffed by his sensei's antics or pinches between his fingers the arm gojo ever so often throws over his shoulders with a grumpy mumble of "please get off".
It's a surprise to everyone, to megumi himself too, when he allows itadori and nobara a little closer, just a little closer to his heart and his mind.
Fushiguro takes nobara's annoying poking and yuji throwing his arm over him with little more than a playful scoff (to which ofc gojo is outraged, but megumi merely ignores him).
And not for surrender (cause admittedly the two of them are just as annoyingly touchy as gojo) but because for the first time megumi truly doesn't mind.
He listens to kugisaki rambling about whatever little thing upset her for hours to no end, offering little hums of acknowledgement from time to time (which would probably piss off nobara if megumi were anyone else, but coming from him? It's already a big achievement and nobara knows he's actually listening to her intently). He even gives in (and every single time too) to yuji's pleads to let him play around with his divine dogs.
Megumi has learnt to stand a little taller, not minding anymore when his shoulders brush into itadori's or when he sits close to nobara. Fushiguro even relishes it, when they're all together. It's comfortable, he would dare say.
And then megumi realizes that it's different, he doesn't know what is, but it just is. It feels different, a little more safe: when Inumaki senpai pats his shoulder or when maki senpai bonks his head with one of her weapons after training.
It feels a little safer. But still not secure.
Fushiguro still doesn't let anyone even step in his room, smacks itadori across the head when he does as much as peak inside. He still sits two steps away from all the others when they eat together, he does it every time, and every time maki and nobara yell at him to sit closer, and only then he acquiesces.
And sometimes it's so downright ridiculous and hilarious that's borderline painful, because fushiguro still gets all cross eyed and defensive when nobara gets too close to him when she tries to "tame that damn porcupine on your head, girls won't even look your way looking like that", but the same fushiguro won't even flinch when in every battle he gets the most bruises, when blood trickles down his temple or out of his mouth, when he doesn't esitate one second to push itadori out of the way and take the blow in his place.
Megumi doesn't like affection, soft touches that might be deceiving, you never know when they can turn sour. Hell, fushiguro is ashamed to admit that probably he'd take a punch over a caress, because at least with the former he'd be sure of what's coming.
Maybe that's why he gets along so well with reader after all.
Reader whose words can hurt much more than a punch, and that even when courteous or sugarcoated, they're still never fake. Reader who is caustic and sarcastic but attentive and caring if they choose to care about you.
It starts with fushiguro just following on their words and attitude, his growing habit of teaming up with them in discussions is his own way to get closer to them.
Then he allows himself closer too, because reader too, sits two steps away from all the others at lunch, but when inumaki or maki point it out, they just say it's fine and don't worry about it, now it's fushiguro who takes it upon himself to sit in the middle, to sit in between those two steps away that now just make him one step closer to both reader and the rest of the group.
Fushiguro is the one that notices that reader not only steps away but flinches when you get too close, and reader is the one that asks megumi if it's okay for them to touch his hair and brush off the leaf that got tangled in it.
It's not a surprise, when reader is the first one allowed in fushiguro's room, because megumi just can't fucking sleep, and he asks reader for comfort, and reader nods understandingly, the dark circle under their own eyes telling of their own troubles sleeping.
What instead comes as a surprise, is how the two most pissy and introverted and sarcastic individuals of Jujutsu High, i.e. reader and fushiguro, actually turn out to be the most soft and touch starved. The two of them probably become cuddle buddies and always nap together because they find so much safety and comfort in each other. Also they're probably the only ones that never mind each other touch (like brushing hair out of theit eyes, getting an eyelash from the other's cheek) because while they always have their guard set on high, fushiguro and reader know that when they decide to do something like that for the other it's always out a place of utter respect and care (and not to be a menace, looking right at you gojo).
This would prob leave everyone dumbfounded, inumaki and yuuta first and foremost since they are the closest to reader: especially yuuta because he is reader's best friend, but they're prob still pretty awkward around each other (pliz, shy babies) he's not jealous or anything though ofc, inumaki though, yeah he's jealous and really open about it.
Itadori and nobara, instead, probably end up joining the nap times because they are annoying little shits like that and reader loves them too much to say anything. Fushiguro tries to act annoyed but they can't even take him seriously.
Also please, naps become so chaotic with nobara and itadori, they probably end up all in tagled limbs and tumbling on the floor, the blanket nowhere to be seen.
With time though, more people join, cause inumaki is a menace and won't be left out, so naps time become chilling sessions with all the second and first years laying on the floor and talking or just resting, especially after missions.
And now? Now megumi thinks that maybe he doesn’t mind affection after all.

toji and megumi duo hcs!!!??!?!
a/n: if toji wasn't broke then gojo's breakup wouldn't have happened😍
manga spoilers!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay on a more serious note, they would be the most powerful duo but this is wayyy before they're the deemed to be an epic duo
toji would be the "okay now do it" without even teaching megumi how to do it and sometimes megumi struggles on what to do because of his old man
lowkey he's such a mean dad when megumi's all grown, that's why megumi's all bruised up when toji's on his missions and work, dragging megumi along to 'teach' him
"we're home-" once mamaguro hears those words, she immediately rushes towards her son whose all beat up and exhausted
(pls she would be the most kindest and caring mom ever :(( )
mamaguro would dote on her son, patching up any wounds and putting plasters while hearing them argue on how this isn't even teaching him how to fight if he keeps coming back all hurt
"teach your poor son how to fight properly, you irresponsible idiot-" she nags toji, pinching harshly at his cheek while he rolls his eyes and shakes off mamaguro's hand away from him.
bad idea that he tried to taste mamaguro's food that was cooking in the pot because he just got smacked by a laddle.
the ass he is, he tried to teach his son how to fight against curses
keyword: tried
being a dad with no cursed energy and a son who has potential with his cursed energy is completely half baked when not putting it to the test properly
when megumi summons his divine dogs, best believe toji would jump back a little
megumi smirked, knowing that progressing without his father would work since he believes that he works better without an irritating someone bothering about it for days
mamaguro would be extremely proud of her son and smother him in hugs which he hugged back with one arm loosely hugging her back while the other catches the spoon she flipped when she ran to him
these small progresses in their days would always have toji saying "oh i taught him that" which was a big fat lie and megumi had no way of calling him out when his mom then smothered her husband with kisses
(either megumi looks disgusted with how his dad smooches his mom back or he completely ignores them and pats his dogs)
now there is a time where toji would meet gojo annnd geto
so basically before toji trains megumi and all (boy is in school let him learn),
he was assigned to take down this second grade curse and setting out on the mission inmediately with his ugly worm
but the problem is this curse needed to be exorcised by gojo and geto because it was causing a ruckus in a village and ordered by the higher ups so they crossed paths coincidentally
"okay listen old man, we need to t-" "-it's mine boys, i need my money" gojo was a little close to cursing the man out because he just wanted to go back and chillax but geto held him back and whispered to gojo to focus on toji's cursed energy.
which is? none.
they were thinking on how a man with zero cursed energy will take a big fat curse, even with his bulky build and strong looking biceps, they doubt he could even take the curse out with his own two bare hands.
toji's lips stretch into a grin, noticing how they gone all quiet and asked them to sit back and relax as he starts coughing out the worm out his mouth and sling his katana over his shoulder when he casually walked to the curse.
gojo and geto quickly seperated from each other and ran towards the curse (well gojo was focused on toji rather than the curse as payback for ruining his evening) but toji was fast enough to slash the curse and it melts to the ground in heaps of goop.
toji leaped away from them, waving to them like the menace he is.
and well, this incident was one of the situations that set off into them meeting again and again, even geto was annoyed with this repetitive ordeal.
so when gojo saw megumi's dad when he randomly showed up to the school, he immediately shut his mouth and megumi questioned on why gojo suddenly wasn't chatty anymore
"that's my uh dad" -yOUR wHaT??!" geto could've joined him screaming if he was there but he was busy with shoko, investigating the curses that he managed to catch
i feel every interaction with gojo and toji in this au, it's them constantly insulting each other and shooting daggers which would make megumi pat his dad's back to go tf home
so knowing that gojo was megumi's teacher, toji would one day drag megumi away so he could see what that freak has taught his son, (or if he even teaches him-) probably way more better than him
the thought made him shrug but he was expecting a grand show from megumi which megumi gladly delivered
toji being impressed was an understatement, he didn't show it but with how much stronger megumi was, it made him kinda proud of his son
so when megumi would dissappear anonymously from the school sometimes, of course itadori and nobara would ask gojo why is that and gojo would always mumble out his response and not give a clear answer
thank god geto's there and he tells them that his dad drags him on missions and it's also concerning if that was even allowed for the school but if it was that way, he doubts megumi should be in the school in the first place with how much he dissappears
so since it was an off day, the duo investigated and looked out for megumi with the help of shoko since she was the last person he saw to ask for a plaster before he left with his dad
what shocks the both of them is to see megumi and toji in general just teaming up
"oiii~ over here kiddo!" megumi clasped his hands into one of his shikigami's signs and let his shikigami attack the curses breeding out in the forest while toji cut his way through the abundance of curses just loitering everywhere.
megumi hopped onto the last bigger curse that his dad was on and kicked through it while toji shreds through it's spine with his blade and swiftly ended it's life.
toji raised his hand in the air and megumi nonchalantly high fived back and his dad laughed, telling how good his son is with how much he improved and it might've shocked megumi a little to hear that his father notices that.
nobara and itadori shrieked in unison but with different questions, nobara was just a little suprised to see that the hunk of man megumi calls a dad had (-finish the sentence) while itadori shouts out that he was actually working with someone.
megumi grumbled to see both of them and was he embarassed? maybe. toji poked his side and asked megumi to bring them along so they could chat a little at their home.
i just know nobara and megumi would LOVE mamaguro so much, they would tease him when his mom starts kissing megumi's face all over when they reached home
best cook mamaguro? best cook mamaguro!
the two idiots could sob at how good the food is and they would compliment itso many times, mamaguro would fluster around and waved her hands to tell them to stop praising her and just countinue eating
toji would defitenely make his wife's face go even redder with whatever the hell his smooth ass would say
he side glanced at his son to see that he softened a little around his friends and a genuine smile drew on his lips as he countinued on his conversation, happy to see his son being comfortable around other people besides his family

A/N: here’s Part 2/4💘 I told y’all I’m gonna finish this and I will. this short series is NSFW. Enjoy 😭❤️
✨part 1 here✨ | ✨parts 3 & 4 on ao3 only✨
Some would say this was entirely unnecessary, perhaps even a little too casual for work. But you know when you have one of those really good friends you’d do anything for? The kind you’d spend money on without a second thought? That’s how you felt about Suguru. You could call him whenever you wanted and he’d come fix up your car for you, help you lift things, or just lend you his ear. He was an extremely good listener, and he was always there for you. It was hard to believe such a sweet guy could be friends with Satoru. It was also hard to believe how you could ever favor Satoru more.
You were incredibly excited to give Suguru all the things you had gotten him over the weekend. Then, like a raining brick shower, did you remember that he came to your work place, with Satoru, and you anonymously gave him a lap dance. And now, you have to talk to both of them like you weren’t shaking your ass in their faces the night before. Tough.
You questioned all your life decisions as you anxiously dialed Shoko. You told her it was urgent and that you needed help with the gift bags, as well as time for girl talk and morning coffee before work.
When she arrived you graciously hugged her, whining and crying her name as you reached over the arm rest.
“You didn’t tell anyone where I worked at, right?” You say, tear stricken and panicked as you peer at her through wet eyes. She shot you an almost betrayed look. When did you start thinking she could be that menacing?
“No- are you crying? Jesus, what’s gotten into you?” She pushed you away, staring worriedly with baggy under eyes.
“Suguru and Satoru showed up to my other job last night.” You shrieked, leaning against the wheel of your car and burrowing your head in your arms.
“I did have a blindfold on but I don’t know if they knew it was me.” You say, muffling your embarrassment.
Shoko could’ve laughed a bit, picking up her iced coffee.
“You always did talk about giving Satoru the dance of his life to put his pitiful attitude in check.” She said, unpackaging the straw and stabbing the lid.
“Shoko!”
“What? Your words not mine.” She said smugly.
“I mean that’s how I felt but then he actually showed up! And then he gave my co worker his number to give to me! He definitely knows it’s me!”
“Why would he give it to you again on a piece of paper if he knew it was you?” Shoko quizzed.
“To fuck with me, obviously.” You mutter, sinking into the drivers seat. “That’s Satoru shit.”
She swished her coffee around, further mixing her creamer. “That does sound like Satoru behavior.”
“Shoko!” You whined again. “How the heck am I supposed to face him? Not to mention, I got Suguru all this stuff and I was so excited to give it to him. You think he knows too? And what if he didn’t know but Satoru told him? Ugh- my head hurts.” You say, taking up your coffee and plunging the lid with your own straw.
“How good was your blindfold?” She raises a brow at you.
“I looked like Harley Quinn’s knock off stripper sister.” Shoko let a laugh, earning a grunt from you.
“Okay okay, so they probably don’t know. But I would just suck it up and act like you don’t know anything either. Like an ‘I know that you know that I know’ kinda situation? But you’re not gonna do anything about it- kinda thing.”
“And you could always switch jobs if you’re that mortified. Poor Suguru, and his gifts though. It seems like Satoru ruins everything for him.” She sighed.
Shoko had a way of pretending like things weren’t as bad as they were, and though sometimes it bothered you, talking to her helped you relax.
“I forgot to mention I gave Suguru a dance.” You sink more into your chair, covering your face.
“Oh then they definitely know.” She teased.
“Shoko!!!” You whined again.
“I’m kidding! There’s no guarantee that they know or don’t know.” Shoko said, placing her coffee down. “I would fake it until you can’t.”
You wanted to crawl in a hole. Couldn’t you just live a peaceful life?
“I have to move away and change my name, it’s the only way.” You cried.
“Let me help you get the bags,” Shoko said, stepping out the car and ignoring you entirely.
“I was only messing with you, they don’t know a thing. I overheard the two of them inside talking about how nice the place was. They didn’t mention anything in particular while I was clocking in.”
You panicked anyway. Why would they?
“Now up and out, you can’t hide in your car forever.”
You sluggishly climbed out the vehicle and opened your trunk.
“If it makes you feel better I’ll ask them about it for you.” Shoko helped you gather Suguru’s gifts and you went inside.
Just relax, (Name). Be cool, be cool.
You were dazed, deep in thought as you and Shoko walked through the halls. You never regretted giving anyone a lap dance during your entire dancing career. You honestly don’t know what came over you. All you wanted was to make Satoru’s mouth water. It’s not like you didn’t already have his attention with his constant flirting at work but still, why did you have to be so gutsy?
You set the gifts down on your desk, before slumping into your office chair.
“Good morning!” You heard the white haired devil chirp through the door way, knocking ever so lightly on the already opened door. Suguru trailed in quietly behind him, greeting you and Shoko.
“Morning!” Suguru hummed, taking a delicate sip from his coffee.
You shyly waved, before Shoko spoke. “How was your night out?”
Breaking the ice for us all Shoko, I thank the heavens and earth for your existence.
“It was great! Wish you guys could’ve been there. Fanciest club I’ve ever been to, like ever.” Satoru spoke, shoving his hands in his pocket.
“It was cool. I still would’ve rather went to dinner with everyone.” Suguru shrugged, setting his coffee on his desk. You watched Satoru approach your table, quickly changing the subject of conversation.
“What’s all this?” He quizzed, looking down at your sheepish body in your chair. Did they really not know? Or were they possibly pretending not to?
“T-These are gifts, for Suguru,” you stand, feeling a bit more confident. The dark haired male perked up at you, before walking towards your desk.
“I told you not to get me anything,” he sighed. You could see the soft smile edging on his lips as he looked down at you. “And then you spoil me like this? People are gonna think we’re dating, you know?”
You swore you heard Satoru scoff.
“Hush, I told you it’s not a big deal. Besides, you’re always helping me out without asking. You deserve to be spoiled!” You say firmly, hands on your hips. He blushed a bit, realizing he wouldn’t be able to argue with you if he tried.
“You never spoil me this much on my birthday,” Satoru pouted, quickly inserting himself between the two of you, both verbally and physically.
“You’ve got to make your mark on people Satoru,” Shoko said, taking a seat behind her desk.
“I spoil all my friends as needed.” You say, crossing your arms proudly. “If you were a little nicer, maybe I wouldn’t think twice about buying you a bunch of nice things. Besides, your mistresses spoil you plenty.”
“Mistresses? What mistresses? (Name) it hurts my feelings when you talk like that.” Satoru put a hand on his chest, pretending to be offended.
“You have feelings?” Everyone but Satoru said this in unison, resulting the room to fill with heavy laughter.
“Oooo so funny.” He said sarcastically, keeping the straightest face.
“If you’re good to me for the rest of the year I’ll get you something nice.” You say, soothing the wound you all gave him.
“But it’s not your birthday right now, is it?” You say, flipping your hair and shifting behind Suguru. You gave him a little push.
“Go head, open them!” You say excitedly. Suguru lets out a soft laugh, before digging into his bounty.
After watching him open his gifts while Satoru graciously recorded the entire moment for his Instagram, the white haired fiend sparked up an idea.
“So, since Suguru kept saying he wanted to do something with everyone I thought we could take a getaway trip this weekend to my folk’s place in the country side.”
“Just us 4?” Shoko asked. “And are you sure we won’t be bothering your parents?”
“Oh no, this is their vacation house. They only go on the holidays. Also, Nanami is definitely coming!” Satoru cooed.
“That sounds like so much fun!” Shoko swooned.
“I haven’t seen Nanami in so long. This should be exciting.” You clasp your hands together delightedly.
“Why do I get the feeling you didn’t actually ask Nanami if he wanted to come yet...” Geto squinted at Satoru, who smiled childishly.
“Nanami loves me. He is coming by default.” He says proudly. “Speaking of, I have to go meet with him tomorrow to take care of some business. So unfortunately, I won’t be able to train with Megumi. (Name) do you think you could pick him up from school for me tomorrow?”
“The middle schooler you’ve been teaching? Why do I have to do it?” You ask, swaying your hips as you look at him.
“Because~” he sung.
“Because...?”
“He’s been talking about meeting you!” He gleamed.
“Has he really? Are you talking about me behind my back or something? How does the kid even know who I am?”
“Of course! I’ve told him plenty stories about the all powerful (Name)! The mightiest jujutsu sorceress to date.” He was clearly just trying to flatter you.
“Fine, I’ll pick up the kid.” You roll your eyes.
“Yay~” He says, casually hugging you. He always did that, not that you actually minded. And you knew he knew it got to you every time, hearing him smirk as you push him off. You force back a blush as Suguru speaks.
“That didn’t take much convincing,” he smirks with him a bit.
“I just wanted him to stop talking.” You say, grabbing your purse. You could hear Shoko attempting to stifle a laugh behind you.
“Anyways, I’ll see you guys later. I have a class to teach.”  You waved goodbye, on your way to cater to the class of second years you were currently responsible for.
You were finally able to relax, feeling like your dancer identity was safe. Now, all you have to do is forget the lap dance and pray to whatever God there is that neither of them would come back. You proceeded to take out your phone and text your club manager, asking for the weekend off. You were lucky she was so lenient.
The work day lasted longer than you’d liked to, and you hadn’t stayed behind to chat with anyone. Shoko knew you were always keen on going home to shower and relax a bit before your shift at the club.
You were in the club locker room, just barely after 10pm. You wanted to ask Tasty for juicy details on Suguru. You were eager to know if he had texted her or had talked of coming back. Fortunately for you at the same time, she was off today. To you, this decreased the likelihood of seeing the dark haired male and his devilish best friend. That is, if he truly liked her enough to come back.
You were wearing a more revealing set this evening- a suede, pink two piece. You made sure your heel straps were tight enough around your ankles before walking out onto the floor to do your first 10 minute set of the evening. You spun on the pole, climbing gracefully. The higher you went, the more dollars being thrown. You slid down the pole, connecting your body to the floor with a split. You crawled lionlike towards the edge the stage, greeting some of your regulars who sat towards the front. Flipping your body, you get up smoothly ending the routine and collecting your bounty.
As you walked down the stage and made your way towards the bar, you could see the silhouette of a tall, white haired male, speaking to the bartender. His body was turned away from you, and he was ordering a drink as if he just got there.
You knew it was him. You could recognize his cocky stance just about anywhere. You dropped to the floor, crawling away and earning stares from plenty of your coworkers and customers alike. Oh I’m definitely quitting, you thought.
You managed to crawl back towards the locker room.
“This cannot become a routine,” you clutched your chest. It felt like you were having another mini heart attack like the night before. Did he just decide this was his new favorite spot? You could’ve sworn you were in the clear. And two days in a row?
He knows, he has to. Should you confront him? Twice was too many times. You almost can picture his smug face out there right now. You’re a bit angry that he had the nerve to come back again, but a portion of you, the little devil inside you- wanted him to watch you dance again.
Then you remembered Shoko’s words. Fake it until you can’t anymore.
If he wanted to play, then you’d give him exactly what he wanted. You opened your locker, fiddling around through your costumes and head coverings. You took hold of the a pink masquerade mask you had left over from a theme night at the club a few weeks ago.
“This should do.” You say, sliding on the seductive looking mask and fixing your hair in the the mirror.  You struck a pose, before flipping your hair in satisfaction and strutting out of the room. You walked past a few regulars, and made yourself comfortable by the bar area. You decided you’d dance around everyone but him.
Satoru took note of your scent first, realizing your feminine force was behind him. He sipped his drink before spinning in his barstool to look at you dancing amongst the other customers. He adjusted his sunglasses, taking in the sight of you.
The set you wore was more revealing than the one from yesterday. He felt like he truly missed out the night before as he watched you drag your hand down the chest of a stranger, feeling a bit envious. His length felt tight in his jeans yet again. But he was a smooth guy, he knew exactly how to make you come to him.
You noticed him get up from the bar, walking away from where you danced. You couldn’t help but get distracted and anxious. You didn’t want Satoru anywhere you couldn’t see him. You almost jumped when your club’s bouncer, Ravi, approached you in the middle of your mini lap dance.
“Candy, the tall guy,” he tried not to point, “the white haired one with dark glasses wants a private dance.” Satoru approached the bouncer earlier when he first came in, pre-requesting a dance from you and tipping him a hefty amount for it. Though he’d explained he’d be fine if you declined it, he truly just wanted to see just how far he could get.
You stared at the thick wad of cash that stuck out of the pocket of Ravi’s dress shirt. You knew Satoru had the guts to ask you directly, but it was more so that he was that much of an asshole, who simply wanted you to approach him on your own.
Ravi then pointed loosely with his chin at Satoru, who had been sitting on the sofa on the other side of the club now.
You nodded, assuring Ravi you weren’t going to keep him waiting. You walked slowly towards him, he barely made eye contact with you.
Fake it until you can’t.
“Hey handsome,” you lean over the railing, displaying your breasts right beside him. He perked up a bit, though he briefly watched you walk towards him beforehand. He sparks a grin, and you can see blue orbs peering ever so slightly over the edges of his glasses.
“Hey,” he confidently sits back, not even shy about looking at your breasts.
“Have you been here before?” A classic conversation starter, but were you were  attempting to poke fun at the awkward situation.
“Ahh, yes! Ms. Number One, from the private dancer line up. I was here yesterday with my friend.” He took a sip from his glass. “But I don’t expect you to remember. You’re a very busy, and talented woman.”
You bite back a blush, “Thank you.”
“A little birdie told me you wanted a private dance,” you maneuvered around the railing but still leaned against it.
“Oh yeah,” he preferred not to waste time. He pulled a thick and wrapped stack of cash from his shirt and placed it on the table in front of you. You tried your best to keep your eyes from widening. The currency strap read $5000.
“A private dance in the private booth costs a hundred.” You felt inclined to remind him as the both the stack and him stared back at you. “And if you wanted the highest package it’s $500 with champagne and refreshments included for the hour, typically for a group.”
“It says that on your website,” he nods, clearly already knowing the information. You almost squint at him before he speaks again.
“Also, I figured I’d pay you enough to go home for the night if you felt like it.” He shrugged. The Gojo family clearly had it well for him to just toss five thousand dollars at a stranger. You shivered when you remembered counting your earnings from the night before, two thirds of the pile being from Satoru.
A part of you felt like ripping your mask off and asking him to go home. Your awkward silence made him stifle a laugh.
“Candy, baby girl, is somethin’ wrong?”
You knew he knew you were blushing, even with your mask. But you promised yourself one thing after leaving the locker room- you would bring him to his knees. And if  he wanted to play, you’d be sure to win.
“Alright hot stuff, come with me.” You used a finger to slide the stack towards you before picking it up.
He grinned at you before you brought him to one of the private rooms. Everything was preset up considering Ravi saw you warming him up prior.
Satoru made himself comfortable in the soft velvet cushions and red lighting. You sat beside him, taking hold of one of the champagne bottles from the ice bucket. You popped it open, causing some of the foam to splatter onto your breasts and stomach.
“Whoops,” you said playfully. You always liked to tease with the exclusive dances. He bites his lip while he watches you fill both of your glasses, taking up one soon after.
“Do you guys have candy here?”
“Only mints by the bar. Did you want something sweet?” That’s so like him, you thought.
“Nah, mints don’t count.” He shook his head. “Chocolate anything?”
“We have chocolate-covered strawberries,” you suggest.
“That’ll do,” he clutches one of the heart shaped pillows, flashing smile.
You rung the bell on the wall, speaking into the microphone beside it to make the request before plopping beside him.
“You’ve got me for the hour,” you leant towards him, crossing your legs. “So let’s make it count.”
“I was hoping we could talk for a bit first,” he said, swishing the liquid in his glass. You almost panicked, but quickly spoke up.
“Sure, whatever you want.” You lean your arm on edge of the couch. It wasn’t uncommon for guys to request dances from you just for you to listen to their qualms for the hour. Although, you never pictured Satoru as the type to do so. Actually scratch that— you settled into the sofa, preparing to hear him ramble on about himself. You made sure to keep eye contact with him, making it known you were indeed listening.
“I got a thing for this girl— she’s amazing. She hates me though. Granted, I’ve been an asshole since high school. I think she’s into my best friend, although he promises me it’s nothing like that.”
“Have you tried flirting with her?” Satoru was infamous for being a casual, serial dater. You wondered who she could be. Just because you were in his inner circle didn’t necessarily mean this girl was you or anyone you might’ve known. But you couldn’t help but put yourself into perspective anyway.
“Yeah, but she’s pretty mean though.” He grinned, “To me.”
“And that makes you happy?” You questioned.
“I mean, obviously it doesn’t.” He clarified, realizing just how crazy he looked in that moment. “Oddly enough, I’d like to think she likes me back a bit.”
“Sounds kiddish right?” He chuckles. “Like is she a middle schooler or something? She’s been playing hard to get for a while now.”
You twitch your eye a bit, was he really that full of himself?
“She probably doesn’t like you. You shouldn’t try to read between the lines. Have you ever asked her directly if she does?” You reason, trying to humble him a bit.
“Nah, I guess I’m just afraid to ask her the right way.” He cocked his head back, earning a confused look from you. You never knew Satoru could be afraid of anything. He was seemingly a fearless person and he was the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer to date.
“Could you elaborate?” You poked.
“She’s the only woman whose ever rejected me. Can you believe that?”
You’re partially amused, these truly were the thoughts in his head— you were sure of it.
“What I mean mostly is that I think she’s an idiot,” he chuckled. You almost broke into laughter.
“For rejecting you?”
“No, no, no— well, maybe. I think she’s incredibly dense. I’ve known her for like 10 years. That or she just tunes out my advances.” He scoffs.
“Everyone else knows it’s obvious I still like her. I think the reason why I’m never direct with my feelings, or the reason I boil it down to casual flirting is because I’m scared of her rejecting me again.”
“The first time was when we were both seniors in high school. She told me to try again after I learned some ‘compassion’. It feels like she’s somewhat interested in me. And I hardly think I need to learn anything— but it’s been years since she said that.” He adds.
He hadn’t looked at you the entire time, sort of ogling at his drink before setting it down.
He was unraveling in front of you, as a complete stranger.
“You get this a lot— the sappy talks, right?”
You nodded, “It’s no big deal.”
“I promise I’m not like this all the time.”
A clearer look inside Satoru’s mind was interesting, to say the least. You don’t think he acted this way on purpose. Perhaps, nothing has pushed him into such a corner for him to begin actively taking people’s feelings into account the way the average person might.
He huffed. “What would you do?”
You pondered for a bit, what would you do? You weren’t sure who the mystery woman he described was but you felt a little jealous, trying to wrap your head around the idea of him being this smitten over someone. He had given you a taste of himself, something he dared not to show you when you weren’t wearing the mask.
“Be direct next time you approach her. Stop playing around so much and tell her how you really feel. Nothing too grand, and try your best to understand her if she rejects you again. You’re a handsome guy, so it won’t be the end of the world if she does.” You explain.
“I don’t mean to sound insensitive by saying that last part either.” You added. Though his head was cocked back, his gaze shifted towards you. He hardly looked worried or sad at all. He shot you a toothy smirk, making you squirm in your seat a bit.
“I know that,” he finally says. There he was again, being his typical arrogant self. “If it doesn’t work out, you’ll see me back here again.”
Dear God, Satoru becoming one of your regulars? You didn’t know if you could handle that. You could just work in a different club. Lord, let this mystery woman scoop him up, and make your life easier.
The thought of him coming regularly just to see you made you happy sort of, but you found yourself getting jealous for the days you wouldn’t work. Suddenly, you didn’t want anyone else dancing for him. It had to be you.
“Woah, you okay?” He tilted his head towards you. You held your cheeks in your hand. If you were a kettle, you’d physically be steaming.
“You’ve got a cute side, Ms. Candy. That’s precious.” He leant forward, glasses sliding down his nose a bit. No matter how long you’ve known him, he would still give you butterflies just like when you were younger.
The server entered the room, placing the strawberries that he ordered onto the table. You watched him take off his shades and hang them on his shirt.
“Fuck yes,” he grinned, picking up one of the chocolate covered fruits. You watched him take a bite, tugging on your own bottom lip. He slid his tongue between two fingers, blue orbs just barely glinting at you. He hummed in delight as you awed at him. Really, everything about him was perfect aside from his flawed personality. You would’ve been dating him already if you felt he’d be a good boyfriend. He was obviously and unfairly attractive. You were positive the sex would be good too, considering you heard more than satisfactory things. He was tall, and wealthy, and strong and talented. He was just a shitty person sometimes.
Somehow you liked him all this time, he’s been the only man whose kept your interest. That’s partially because he was persistent, in the most attractive and appealing way. But you’re adults now, maybe you should stop playing around so much.
Did you even have time to change your mind with this mystery girl in the way?
“I think I’m ready for my dance now,” he said smugly, breaking you out of your thoughts.
“Of course baby. Just sit back and relax.” You had to remind yourself, you’re Candy right now, and not (Name).
He sunk back into the sofa, spreading his legs as you got up and positioned yourself in front of him. He spreads his long arms on the head of the sofa, slight smile leaking at the corners of his lips.
You swayed your body, giving him a show. It was finally happening. You were giving him the very thing you fantasized about since you started dancing. You climbed onto his lap, grinding against him as the music played in tandem with your hips. He seemed elated, and not even remotely ashamed of the growing bulge in his jeans. You were feeling antsy, watching him with his arms sprawled out like that.
“I don’t normally let people touch me during my dances, but you can if you want.” You weren’t supposed to sound so shy when you said it.
“You’re being extremely generous, I’ll tip you again, for sure baby.”
You felt his large, hot hands connect with your back, running down the smooth skin. You smiled smugly, looking down at him. You grinded against him some more, feeling his bulge confidently poke against your sex.
All you ever wanted was for him to touch you like this. You were mad at yourself for holding out this long— why did his hands feel so good against your bare skin?
Possibly just because you liked him, and that amplified the experience.
Lost in the moment, you felt your hands run through the smooth fade of his undercut while you humped his lap. The amount of stimulation this gave the both of you was astounding. You heard a soft groan leave his lips, rising color out of your cheeks.
You brought a finger to the string of your outfits top, pulling it undone and gracing him with the sight of your breasts as you tossed the fabric on the sofa. He was sort of surprised, but his facial expression was nothing short of cocky. It wasn’t the first time a stranger stripped top-less for him, and coincidentally, making panties drop was his hobby.
“Oh~?”
His voice was terrifically deep, you never knew he could drop an octave this low. You’d usually be talking up a storm, doting on your customers with compliments and saying appropriately reassuring things. The entire experience was weird, having your childhood crush grope you and nuzzle his face into your breasts hadn’t been on your to do list for the evening.
He hummed against the skin in the center of your chest, sending vibrations up your spine.
“I know I’m pushing it, considering this is nothing but a service agreement, but I’d be happy to make you feel good— if you want me to, that is.”
You looked down at him, knowing the mask you wore couldn’t save you from him noticing the blushing look on your face.
“Just what do you take me for?” You’re being playful about it, wrapping your arms around his neck so he knows you’re not offended.
“A hard working woman. I envy the man who gets to spoil you.”
You couldn’t think of a response, and you assumed he caught on due to the way your lips parted and no sound emerged.
“Ohh-hoh??? There isn’t one, is there?”
He stole the show from you, and now you’re sitting in his lap like some sort of blushing sheep.
“That makes me feel sort of special,” he purred, taking one of your nipples into his mouth. You let out a dainty moan, grinding harder against him. You were no longer grinding along with the music, just finding a rhythm that would satisfy the both of you. He grunted at your sudden change in pace, his searing hot breath against your skin.
“Is that a yes?” He asked, nipple between his teeth.
“What about the girl you like?” You found yourself regretting even saying that, considering you were supposed to be a neutral party.
“You jealous?”
You suck in your bottom lip, barely forming a pout. He truly was an asshole to everyone. It didn’t even matter if someone was on top of him. Before you’re able to say anything, he speaks again.
“Don’t be.” He pressed a sweet kiss to the center of your chest, heightening the crimson hues on your cheeks. His soft lips unfortunately tore from your body when his phone rang. He slipped the thing from his jacket pocket, answering the call.
“Alright, I’ll be there in 30.” He said finally after following subsequent huffs. He ended the call, looking back up at you with apologetic eyes.
“I’ve gotta cut this short,” he was pained to say it. He was having too much fun.
“That’s alright.” You say, sliding your leg off him and finding your top.
He stood, straightening his clothes whilst muttering what you barely made out as ‘fuckin’ Nanami’ through his teeth. You almost laughed, as you tied your top back on.
“Candy, baby, I’m sorry. Guess I’ll have to come back again.” He looked too happy to say it.
“Before your confession?” You say smugly. “Or after?”
“No no, I’m a man of my word. I’ll come back only under those conditions I mentioned.” He says.
“I wish you the best of luck.” You say, crossing your legs.
“You’re rooting for me? You really don’t wanna see me again.” He chuckled as he towered over you, his blue gaze now covered by his glasses again.
“I’m always rooting for my customers.” You smile slyly.
His grin softened, and you wish you knew why he was looking at you like that.
“See you around, Ms. Candy.”
He waved goodbye as he exited the room, finally allowing you a some relief. Hopefully this chick doesn’t reject him, you thought.
Even though he probably wouldn’t come back, you thought about quitting and working elsewhere anyway. You tore off your mask, pushing your hair back out of your face.
You really didn’t want to have to wear one of these again.

How To Tame A Sorcerer(5)
The next morning finds Kagome stretched out on the simple twin bed Gojo purchased for her. She didn't mind the lack of space. It wasn't as though she was going to be in this world for very long–at least she hoped that she'd be able to find a way back to her home, preferably back to InuYasha.
She lies there, listening to the soft chimes of the birds outside. Almost shyly, she lifts the hold on her spiritual powers, feeling for his presence.
Nothing.
I really hope he didn't get killed last night; she thinks as she gets out of the bed. As much as it pains her to admit it; she needs him around so she can navigate this world. Kagome stumbles out of the bedroom, grabbing a change of clothes on her way out and down the hall to the master bath.
He did tell her to make herself at home; she affirms to herself. So, there's no reason why she can't start her morning off on the right foot. Ignoring how much more spacious his room is and how soft the bedding looks; she heads straight to the bathroom; grateful that the controls for the bath are actually inside the room and not outside of it.
With her free hand, she rubs at her eyes in disbelief. The bathtub sits elevated on a platform with the shower at the bottom and off to the side. Both are inside of a glass enclosure that most likely helps with keeping the heat more contained. With a squeal, she sets her clothing on the marble countertop and turns the bath on.
After rinsing off at the shower, she lowers herself into the bath; the heat does wonders for the tension that has gathered in her muscles. Tilting her head back, she muses on how she's supposed to find her way back home.
Maybe there's a portal in the sky? She flicks that thought away. There's no way she would have missed a portal, and surely the well wouldn't have sent her somewhere with no way to get back home. After all the outstanding work she's done, saving the world it would be a crime to be stuck with Satoru forever. But with all this talk about curses and that spirit at Ikea yesterday, her insides churn with unease.
"Honey, I'm home!"
Kagome's face scrunches up as the sounds of Satoru's steps get closer.
"D-don't come in here! I'm taking a bath."
"Oh? In my master suite. You just wanted an excuse to see my room." He teases, his voice sends shivers down her spine. How he can switch from being a menace to flirty so quickly makes her head spin.
Think of InuYasha, she berates herself. You've waited this long, now isn't the time to be swooning over the first white-haired man she's seen in years.
"The other one doesn't have a bathtub." Sighing, she steps out of the bath and wraps a towel around herself. "I wasn't expecting you to be out so late."
"Did you wait up for me, Gome-chan?"
She bites her tongue as she shimmies into the jeans. "No, it was just an observation. Just glad you didn't get murdered."
"Please, I'm the strongest." She could practically hear the eye roll.
"Right, right," she placates. Gathering up her dirty clothes and towel, she opens the door. He's still dressed in his work uniform with his blindfold stuffed in his pocket. It's not that his eyes do something to her, though admittedly they are more vibrant than Koga-kun's eyes, the blindfold blocks out her ability to get a good read on him.
Probably why he wears it or those sunglasses.
"Have you eaten yet?"
"You realize there's no food in the fridge, right?"
"Oh! That's what we forgot to do yesterday!" He snaps his fingers. "Well, why don't we got out and get some breakfast?"
"Alright," she agrees, "where can I put these clothes?"
"Just leave them on the floor, you can do laundry later." He flashes her smile as he takes the pile of clothes from her and tosses them behind him.
"How old are you?" She mumbles.
"28, Gome-chan," he replies, grabbing her hand and dragging her out of the room. "Well?"
"Well, what?" Her head is fuzzy, there's a pool of what she assumes is cursed energy in his pocket. The signature of it differs from the curse energy he radiates–it's sickening, whereas Satoru likes to play footsie with her own spiritual energy.
"I told you my age, it's only polite to return the favor."
"It's actually rude to ask a woman her age, but fine. I'm 24. I'm more shocked at how old you are. You don't act your age at all."
"Don't sweet talk me like that, we haven't even had breakfast yet."
Kagome pulls her hand away to tug her shoes on. "What's going on with your left pocket? Did you get hit with something last night?" She tilts her head at the blank stares he gives her.
"You can sense it?" He leans forward, invading her space. She chews on the inside of her cheek, their noses just a hair width apart.
"Of course, I can. It's sickening. Can't you do something about it?"
He leans back and pulls out a… finger? It's red, tipped with a black nail.
"Satoru…"
"The seals have been weakening on these, but the fact that you can sense it is really amazing."
"I don't think so."
"I went to go retrieve one of these fingers last night." He puts it back in his pocket. "And a civilian actually ate one. Can you believe that?"
"That's disgusting."
"He's still alive. Well, the higher-ups want to have him executed because now he's the vessel for the curse king." He waves it off as if they are discussing where to get breakfast at.
"Did you say, curse king?" Maybe she got some water in her ears from the bath and it's just fucking up her hearing because there's no way that now there's a revived curse king in this world.
"Yep. Funny how Sukuna got revived the same day you dropped into my lap."
"It's really not funny." She hands out her hand with her palm facing upwards. "If you aren't going to do something about it, then let me. There's no way I'm going to stomach breakfast with that energy around."
She expects him to put up more of a fight, but he takes the finger back out of his pocket and drops it into her palm with no complaints.
"So, what exactly are you going to do?"
"Purify it." Kagome almost gags when the finger twitches in her palm. Freaking disgusting, she thinks, as her palms glow. The light pink aura soothes her every time. Opening her palm, the finger's lost some of its demonic markings. It's no longer red, instead it just a couple shades darker than her own skin, and the nail looks duller.
"Change of plans," Satoru says, plucking the finger from her and putting it back in his pocket. "we're going to invite Yuji and Megumi-kun to this little outing."
"Who?" she asks, not that it really matters since he's the only person she knows here.
"Megumi is my student, and Yuji is the vessel. Just keep your powers under wraps, yeah? And no talk about curses." He pulls out his blindfold and covers his eyes.
"Wait! You're a teacher." She doesn't pull away when he grips her hand again and leads them out of the house.
"You say it like that's a bad thing."
"For the students it is." Her face heats at the laugh she gets in response.
Maybe she should have just used the other bathroom this morning instead of jinxing herself.

Chapter 1 - New Horizons
4/9
Megumi adjusted her glasses as the train continued to clatter along. She held her bag closer to herself, trying to get any semblance of something homey from it, though it was to no avail.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for riding with us today,” As the voice on the speaker began, Megumi glanced up to catch sight of the nearest one. “We’ll be arriving in Shibuya shortly. This is the last stop for this line. Please transfer here for all subway lines. The doors to your left will open.”
Quietly, she stood up and grabbed onto one of the dangling handles above. Grimacing as a pit formed in her stomach, almost as a bitter reminder of why she was in Shibuya to begin with.
The glare of the overhead streetlight, the innocent woman’s cries for help, the stench of a hopelessly drunk man, the thud on the pavement, the shouting, and above all else, the harsh grip of the very police officers she had called for help.
Without thinking, she ran her fingers across her bicep, practically feeling the strong fingertips that had dug into her flesh that short time ago.
“What? Are you for real? A mental shutdown?” The chatter of two nearby girls dragged Megumi out of her trance, glancing over in curiosity.
“It’s the truth!” The other retorted, a certain conviction in her words.
“To a person though?” Her friend asked, skepticism in her voice. “That’s gotta be a joke.” Still, she giggled, pointing to the phone in the formers hand. “You really love that occult stuff, don’t you?”
Mental Shutdowns…?
Odd.
After dismounting the train, Megumi made her way up into the station square. Her grip tightened on the strap of her bag as she slowly weaved through the crowds. This certainly was different from home…
A beep from her phone drew her attention back to the device in her hands. Her brow creased as she looked at the screen.
“What on Earth…?”
Casting on the screen was an app she was unfamiliar with. She knew she didn’t download it, so what was it? She stopped in her tracks and tapped on it, though it didn’t seem to open properly. Megumi sighed prepared to reboot her phone, but then she noticed something. Everything seemed to have stopped in its tracks.
Even the birds overhead.
The most striking thing of all, however, was nestled right in the center of the scramble.
Raging azure flames danced and licked away at the skies, though they soon formed together, making a coherent figure, standing tall and proud. Just as soon as it formed, it dissolved, and for the briefest of moments, Megumi could have sworn she saw herself in it.
And just like that, the world was once again turning.
Megumi looked back and forth. Was she just seeing things, or…?
Whatever, it didn’t matter. She was probably just tired from the train ride. That was what she told herself, anyway. She looked back at her phone screen, gently setting a finger on the offending app and dragging it to the trash.
She still kept a tight grip on the straps of her bag as she dismounted yet another train. Yongen-Jaya, this was the place all right. Her steps were slow as she left the station, not wanting to miss the place she was staying- it probably didn’t help that her sense of direction wasn’t perfect to begin with but that on top of how out of touch she’d felt that day, it simply wasn’t a good mix.
Still, she didn’t know a lot about Yongen, but from what she could see, it felt rather homely from the get-go. She gave everyone who paid her any mind a gentle wave as she weaved her way through the area’s backstreets. Sojiro Sakura was the one she was in the care of, if she recalled correctly, but where on earth was…?
Let’s see… A second hand shop… What looked to be a theater, that could be fun… Takemi Medical Clinic? At least something like that was local, same for the supermarket.
Emerging from the short alley where the clinic was nestled, Megumi sighed, holding her head in her hands. Was she really not even going a day without directional issues?
“Excuse me, Miss.” A gruff sounding voice had asked- no, not asked,- told her, and in response her head shot up, meeting the eyes of a rather menacing officer. Unconsciously, her grip tightened around the cuff of her sleeve.
“Ah, yes, sir?” She had asked, voice just a touch shaky. The last thing she wanted right now was to cause trouble.
“Are you alright? You’ve been wandering around this area for a while now, you aren’t up to anything suspicious, are you?” Without thinking, her back straightened as she shook her head.
“No sir, I was just wondering where the residential area was.”
The officer shook his head with a sigh, pointing over to the girl’s left.
“Just down that way, take the first left and you’ll be there.”
Offering a quick thanks, she continued on her way.
Don’t make waves.
In a way, it was almost fortuitous. The first house on the left had a small brass nameplate, the surname ‘Sakura’ embossed on its surface. She shuffled from heel to heel as she gently pressed on the doorbell, but received nothing in return. She chewed on her lip. Was he out, or perhaps was there another ‘Sakura’ living in the area…? What to do…
“Ah, looks like no one’s home…”
Megumi glanced over her shoulder, noticing a delivery man with a parcel under his arm. It was clear he hadn’t noticed her, attention on other things.
“I suppose it makes sense, Sakura’s usually at his cafe around this time. Although, LeBlanc’s in the back alley, I’d probably be best off working on my other deliveries first…”
Megumi had hesitated for a moment, though she supposed this wild goose chase would have to bring her something at some point. She was thankful, though. It wasn’t nearly as tricky to find LeBlanc.
Slowly, she pushed open the door, the lingering scents of coffee and curry spices that danced out into the cold air calming her down considerably. It felt… homely.
“A public transit bus was driven down an opposing lane with its customers still in it! The citizens can’t live in peace if this keeps up.”
...Oh Heavens.
Megumi craned her neck over to catch sight of the TV mounted on the wall at the far back of the small cafe. Sure enough, a news report of an incident from just a day prior. Maybe it wasn’t in her best interest to stay here after all…? Though it wasn’t like she had much choice in the matter.
“How frightening.”
Soon, she found her attention on an elderly couple in one of the establishment’s booth seats.
“What could be going on?” The man’s wife had asked, a clear concern on her face. “Didn’t something similar happen just the other day?” Her words made Megumi’s stomach twist.
“Vertical is… the name of a shellfish used for farming pearls…”
The manager of the place however, seemed to have minimal concern, simply focusing on a crossword, pen between his index and middle fingers flicking back and forth. Soon enough though, he caught sight of Megumi. His brow creased as he put the crossword on the countertop behind him.
“Right, they did say that was today, didn’t they?”
She nodded, not even sure if she was supposed to reply.
“We’ll be going now. The payment’s on the table.” The older man had said, both him and his wife getting up from their table, a small amount of coins left behind on the smooth surface.
“Thanks for coming.” The manager had said, only glancing at the couple for a moment before he looked back to the teenager in the doorway. Still, the couple continued to ‘joke’ on their way out of the shop.
“At least this place is in the back alley, there’s no worries of a car crashing in here.” The man had said, mostly to his wife but the manager picked up on it.
“A what?”
“Oh? Haven’t you heard? There’s been an entire string of those rampage accidents. I just hope that none happen around here…”
The manager shook his head, looking as unimpressed as ever.
“It’s none of my concern.” He had said curtly. The elderly man had laughed before bidding his farewell and leaving with his wife. Once the bell had chimed, signalling the door had shut, the manager sighed.  “...Four hours for just a single cup of joe.” He looked away from the table that had been occupied for so long, back to the only other person in the shop. “So, you’re Megumi?”
She nodded, straightening her posture without thinking about it.
“That’s right. Is Sakura-san here?” She had asked, shifting her weight from foot to foot. He had smiled at that- not a friendly one, but an entertained one.
“Yeah. I’m Sojiro Sakura. You’ll be in my custody over the next year.” His gaze flicked up and down over Megumi’s form. “I was wondering what kind of unruly kid would show up, but… You’re the one, huh?” She didn’t blame him for being confused, she would be too. She was, to a degree. “Have you been told? A customer of mine and your parents are good friends and-” She nodded along with his explanation, which he seemed to notice after long enough. “Well, not that it matters. Follow me.” He turned around and motioned for her to follow, bringing her up a rickety staircase to a large attic at the very top.
The attic was big, if cluttered, one on shelf large bags of coffee beans sat, while miscellaneous junk covered the entire left of the room, a desk in the back covered in old and worn magazines and folders. There was also a small worn bed in the corner opposite the desk, just as dusty as the rest of the room. In the center of it all was a large cardboard box- that she had recognized.
“This is your room.” Sojiro had said curtly, sweeping over the place with his gaze. “Oh, I’ll at least give you sheets for the bed.” Again, she nodded, an action she was getting used to very quickly, as she stared into the distance. “You look like you want to say something.” He had told her, as if he was testing her.
“It’s just a lot bigger than I thought it would have been.” Megumi had told him, staying as polite as possible. She set her bag down on a table next to the stairs, resting her hands on her hips as she looked the room over again and again. “..Could be cozy though…” She mumbled, more to herself, though it’s not like Sojiro hearing would hurt her.
“It’s up to you to clean up the rest.” He had said, hand lingering on the back of his neck. “I’ll be leaving after I lock up each day.” Sojiro looked back toward Megumi as he spoke “You’ll be alone, but don’t do anything stupid; I’ll throw you out if you cause any trouble.”
“Okay.” She had replied, quickly and quietly.
Don’t make waves.
“Now then, I got the gist of your situation.” He had begun. Megumi still hadn’t moved from the top of the stairs, standing straight and tall like a tin soldier. “You protected some woman from a man forcing himself on her, he got injured, then sued you. Right?”
“Mmhmm.”
“That’s what you get for sticking your nose in a matter between two adults.” His expression was sour, not like he was scolding his own child for doing something wrong, more like scolding a puppy. “You did injure him, yeah?”
“We-”
Before she could even begin, Sojiro cut her off.
“And now that you’ve got a criminal record, you were expelled from your old high school.” She didn’t particularly mind that part. She didn’t have much attachment to her old school, much less friends she would miss. “The courts ordered you to transfer and move out here, which your parents also approved. In other words, they got rid of you for being a pain in the ass.”
He looked so smug at those final words. She knew it wasn’t like that, her parents just didn’t have many other options…
“It’s best you not talk about anything unnecessary. I am in the restaurant business, you know. Behave yourself for the year. If nothing happens, your probation will be lifted.”
“Yes sir.” As much as she wanted to say that that was her plan, she didn’t want to seem smug, especially after only being in the attic for two minutes. She knew her sentence would last until next spring, but she figured it’d be best to at least try and make the most of it.
“Just remember, cause any problems, and you’ll be going straight to juvie. We’ll be going to Shujin tomorrow.”
“...Shujin…?” Megumi had mumbled, moreso to herself, but Sojiro still heard it.
“Shujin Academy. The school you’ll be attending.” He had said so matter-of-factly, an underlying tone of exhaustion in his voice.. “We’ll introduce ourselves properly to the staff there. You’re lucky there’s a place that’ll accept someone like you, you know.” He sighed to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose. “What a waste of my Sunday.”
Megumi stayed quiet. She wanted to apologize, but was sure she’d only get snark in return.
“Your ‘luggage’ arrived a little while ago. I brought it up here for you.” Sojiro gestured to the large cardboard box in the middle of the room. Without another word, he went back downstairs to the cafe.
A few moments after he left, Megumi finally broke out of her soldier stance, stretching out and looking at the box from home. She knew a lot of what she needed was in that box, clothes, three spare pairs of glasses and a few other odds and ends.
She ended up opening the box with a mechanical pencil in her bag. She didn’t want to bother Sojiro by asking for a knife or scissors. No matter the impracticality, it got the job done. Taking the opportunity, she changed into some more comfortable clothes- a grey turtleneck sweater which happened to be her favourite shirt she owned, and a simple pair of black pants.
Megumi looked around. Cleaning this place would probably be a good start…
It was nothing too complicated, just a bit of dusting here, a bit of mopping there, putting fresh sheets on the bed, piling a couple trash bags on the table with her school bag and tucking away all the loose magazines underneath the table. She didn’t throw them out in case they held any importance to Sojiro.
It was just as she was pushing the cardboard box with her belongings into a low shelf when Sojiro had come back upstairs.
“What the heck? I heard you making all sorts of noise up here, but I didn’t think you’d be cleaning.” He had said almost as soon as he came up the stairs, looking around the room. Megumi had opened her mouth to apologize- what for, she didn’t actually know, but Sojiro had interrupted her before she could even speak. “Actually, the place doesn’t look too bad. Though it’s only natural you’d want to keep your room tidy.”
That was the first time she even tried to smile in days. Even if it was rather backhanded, she would take the praise regardless. She stood up straight, but before she said anything in reply, she yawned. What time was it, anyway…?
“Why don’t you go to bed for tonight?” He had suggested. “You don’t have anything better to be doing, right?” Sleepily, Megumi nodded, getting a nod from Sojiro in reply. “I’m going to close up shop and get out of here myself. Just remember that I’m not the one who’ll be taking care of you if you get sick from staying up too long, got that?”
“Mhmm…”
Megumi had changed into her soft, creamsicle-coloured pajamas, and looked around the attic once more. She debated doing more work with the cleaning, but she really didn’t feel up to it, practically ready to pass out as soon as she hit the sheets.
As tired as she was though, she couldn’t sleep. She kept thinking about everything that led up to now. Arrest, then trial, and now a criminal record and probation. What else was she supposed to do though?
One thing had led to another and she ended up getting home late, she remembered worrying as she checked her watch. She knew her mother would be worried sick about her, but here she was, lightly jogging through the neighbourhood, but slowly her steps became uncertain.
“Just get in the car!”
She stopped in her tracks completely. Gently, she chewed on her thumbnail. The yelling was coming from her left, but that was the opposite way of home. She was late enough already… Maybe it would just be a second? Megumi found herself trying to rationalize things as her steps guided her toward the voice. Maybe it was just someone trying to coax their pet into their car. At… 8pm. Though she soon found it was hopeless to be optimistic, as she soon picked up on a younger woman’s voice alongside it.
“N-no! Let go!”
“You dare cross me?!”
Again, Megumi stopped. She could see what was happening now. She could see under the glare of the streetlight the silhouette of a man forcing himself on a younger woman, and she could see her struggling rather noticeably. Could she even do something about that? Quietly, she took out her phone and dialed for the police, voice barely above a whisper. She was a bit relieved to hear that the police were on their way- what a mistake that would turn out to be.
“No…!”
“Don’t give me that shit.”
“Ow! P-Please, stop…!”
Letting out a sharp breath, she moved forward, her legs carrying her without a second thought. It didn’t matter if she could or couldn’t stop it, she just needed to try. As Megumi approached, she began catching the heavy scent of alcohol looming in the air. If anything, it made her stomach twist more.
“Tch… What a waste of my time. You think you’re worth causing me trouble? Huh?” The drunken man continued, not letting up.
“I’ll call the police!” The woman had squeaked out. Her nails gripped onto his arm as she desperately tried to pry him off.
“The police are my bitches.” He had growled out. “They’re not gonna take you seriously.” The look of fear on her face only increased at his words. Only moments later the sound of police sirens pierced through the tense atmosphere. The man’s eyebrows furrowed in frustration and anger. “Someone called the cops, huh?” Both his scowl and his grip on the woman tightened. “Get in the car!” He had yelled. “Incompetent fools like you just need to shut your mouths and follow where I steer this country!”
Megumi felt her blood freeze as the man finally noticed she was there, his gaze staring daggers at her from behind his orange tinted sunglasses.
“...What’re you looking at?” He snapped out. “Get outta my face!” She took one step back, gripping onto the strap of her bag. “This ain’t a show. Get lost, kid.” His hand slid off the woman’s body as he began fronting on the high-schooler. Before he got closer, he sneered at the woman again. “See? This is all because you’re so damn slow! Get in the car!” He ordered.
Megumi sighed and shook her head. There was no use even thinking about it now. It was far too late to think about anymore. Just as she felt herself begin to drift, her phone had played it’s little note, trying to grab her attention, which it had. She nabbed it from the floor, and whatever it had tried to notify her on had been pushed to the wayside as she noticed the strange app from just that morning. Her index finger loomed over it, puzzled. Did she not delete it? She thought she did, but she supposed it was entirely possible she didn’t. She was quite frazzled after all. Without another thought, she dragged it off to the recycling bin and placed her phone back on the floor.
Her eyelids were getting heavy and her consciousness began to drift. She’d be scoping out her new school tomorrow, so maybe this would be her lucky break in disguise. Potential friends, potential experiences… She was optimistic, but she’d have to see the hand fate felt like giving her.
Megumi wasn’t sure when she had awoke, but nothing about it felt right. Sure her bed wouldn’t be called luxurious, but it wasn’t this uncomfortable…
The rattling of a chain made her shoot up to sitting, though that only made her notice the chain on herself, going from one wrist to the other with a little bit of give, cuffs linking them to one another. She swung her legs over the side of her ‘bed’ and clutched her head. Sure she could excuse it as a dream, but her wrists certainly did hurt. A chuckle dragged her attention to just outside her new cell.
Just outside she could see two girls, awfully young looking ones at that. They weren’t identical- she didn’t think so anyway, but they shuffled closer together in sync, as if they were moving in a mirror. As Megumi approached, she only found herself stuck at a point, only to look down and pin the cause as a ball and chain. Now what in the world was this…? Megumi only stared at the two girls, hands resting and gaining a loose grip on the bars in front of her, loose striped sleeves sliding down her forearms.
The girls stared back, their uncovered eyes unmoving, though the both turned away, no longer blocking Megumi’s view of the long nosed man in the center of the room. He had offered a hand that she could never grab, and announced in a low, booming voice.
“Trickster… Welcome to my Velvet Room.”
“So, you’ve come to, Inmate?” One of the girls had asked, glancing at Megumi from the corner of her eye.
“The you in reality is currently fast asleep.” The other had continued, her voice just a bit softer than her cohort. “You are only experiencing this as a dream.” She clarified.
“You’re in the presence of our master. Stand up straight!” Without hesitation, she did. She could swear she saw the tiniest grin pop up on the younger girl’s face, but said nothing.
“Welcome.” The man in the center had started, the two girls at either side of you falling quiet. “I am delighted to make your acquaintance. This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter.” He continued. Megumi’s grip only tightened on the bars. “It is a room that only those who are bound by a ‘contract’ may enter. I am Igor, the master of this place. Remember it well.” Igor continued to drum his fingers, which were just a touch too long on his desk. Megumi told herself that she probably wouldn’t forget this even if she tried. “I summoned you to speak of important matters. It involves your life as well.” She furrowed her brow, not wanting to make waves.
“Important matters?” She asked. It was just a dream, that's what she told herself anyway. Just a strange, strange dream. It probably wasn’t that important overall, but there was no reason not to play along. Igor only nodded along at her words.
“Still, it is strange…” He looked around, as if searching for something. She glanced around too, unsure of what the problem was, besides the obvious. “The state of this room reflects the state of your own heart. To think a prison would appear as such…” His gaze returned to her. “You truly are a ‘prisoner’ of fate.” Igor pointed at her, index finger only drifting around; lingering. “In the near future, there is no mistake that ruin awaits you.”
“Ruin…?” She repeated, concern growing on her face. Igor simply chuckled.
“Worry not. There is a means to oppose such a fate. You must be ‘rehabilitated’. Rehabilitated toward freedom… That is your only means to avoid ruin.” He stared at her again, eyes boring deep into her. “Do you have the resolve to challenge the distortion of the world?”
Megumi stayed silent, though considering Igor’s inclination of doing the same, she realized he was looking for a reply.
“Well, I’d like to avoid ruin…” To this, he grinned even wider than he already was.
“Then allow me to observe the path of your rehabilitation.” As he finished his words, the two girls turned on their heels to face her once more. “Ah, pardon me for not introducing the others. To your right is Caroline; to your left, Justine.” Her gaze travelled as he said each direction. “They serve as wardens here.”
“Hmph,” Caroline huffed out. “Try and struggle as hard as you like.”
“The duty of wardens is to protect inmates. We are also your collaborators.” She couldn’t tell if Justine was trying to calm her. The words seemed sincere but her tone and demeanor was of ice. “...That is, if you remain obedient.” Megumi decided her uncertainty was best left where it was.
“I shall explain the roles of these two at another occasion.” Again, as Igor finished speaking, the wardens turned on their heels in perfect sync to face their master. “Now then, it seems the night is waning… It is almost time.” Almost time for…? “Take your time to slowly come to understand this place. Surely, we will meet again, eventually…” At the flick of his wrist, sirens began blaring in the small prison. Caroline snapped her attention to Megumi.
“Now hurry up and go back to sleep.”
Megumi was confused, but soon enough found her consciousness fading yet again.

Mad wild I wrote this and hours later I see a screenshot of a Twitter post of someone calling Megumi "useless".
Till this day, calling Megumi a "bum" is absurd to me. Like, no, he's actually unhinged and ready to end it at the drop of a dime. He's just one of those people who know how unhinged they are but choose not to act a fool until someone rings that bell.
