Thinking about how Batman and Superman mirror Megara and Hercules — the mistrustful black cat and the loyal golden retriever who wins over their trust.

In the beginning, the fiercely independent black cat would rather deal with sticky situations on their own than receive help from others.

Their golden retriever partner ends up helping them anyway because it’s in their nature lol

Fueled by a distrust stemming from their traumatic past, they plotted against their superhuman partner, convinced they were no different – out for themselves just like everyone else.

But eventually, the idealism of their partner wears down their cynicism, and they learn to trust. Megara learns to trust men, and Bruce learns to trust others, especially metahumans.

And now they're convinced that their partner is a big softie who would never hurt them; nobody gets to pick a fight with their partner except them, of course!

Meg with Ariadne

And the guy who abandoned Meg with Theseus

Sorry I go on a bit of a ramble in this next part lol

AT LEAST THE STORY WOULD SORTA MAKE MORE SENSE WITH THOSE CHARACTERS

Theseus gets trapped in the underworld and ariadne makes a deal with Hades to let him go ONLY FOR THESEUS TO LEAVE HER TO MARRY HER SISTER

And Meg and ariadne are sooo similar, Like risking everything to save the man you love only to have him abandon you for another woman

And that version of Hercules also reminds me of Dionysus in a way with him having to prove he's worthy to make it back to his rightful place on olympus, and him not feeling like he belongs in the place he is only to go on a journey of discovery

Also “Won't say I'm in love” is such an ariadne song

Especially the lyrics "I thought my heart had learned its lesson It feels so good when ya start out My head is screaming "get a grip, girl!" "Unless you're dying to cry your heart out!"

And replace Pegasus with a leopard

I love Hercules and I've had this idea of combining these for a while. I am planning on doing more! Perhaps another rendition with them in costume? 😊😊

Special thanks to @flowery-laser-blasts for the wonderful suggestion of using the outfit of Drakkus Maximus (from the episode "Rewriting History"). 😊😊😁 He may not be Greek but it still fits with the overall theme of the Classical/Hellenistic period. PLUS drawing this version has given me some ideas for future drawings! 😁
