@MeganLeaveyMovie is based on a #TrueStory. I watched this movie on my couch... #CLUTCHING onto my dog, Oliver. I love watching these types of movies because they are always so sweet and it’s easy to root animals. This movie is available on #AmazonPrime and I was bored looking for something to have on in the background. I choose this movie on a whim... I was drawn into the movie once #MeganLeavey stopped acting like a #SpoiledBrat and actually started working with the dogs. Animals make me emotional and I had a real #UglyCry during this film. It may not have deserved it... but I still cried like a baby. The #MeganLeaveyMovie is typical and there’s nothing interesting with how it’s filmed and I felt it a waste to have the very talented @Common have only a handful of scenes. I would have liked to see his character more developed. I had also wished for more dog bonding scenes. Usually in these types of movies, we get some sort of cheesy #MontageScene where the human and dog bond. I appreciate this movie not falling into that trap but I would have like at least one scene where we watch them bond. Instead... we see her sleep in his cage and then all of a sudden they are best friends... That whole scene was 40seconds long. Every scene was rushed that I never really saw a connection between #KateMara and Rex. There was an interesting story but I wish there was more quality... #LazyFilmCritic

Megan Leavey ★★☆☆☆, 30% Urgh it's hard for me to review this one. I for one truly emphatize with the story and the characters, but the movie doesn't really pull it off. What a great war story, it's unique and has a strong chance to be as powerful as Hackshaw Ridge or War Horse. But sadly the developments aren't handled greatly. It was good, it was just enough; too bad they didn't do something more to it. I was rooting for the story to make me cry a river, I ended up cry a bowl. Kate Mara did a good job, I'm just dissapointed that her character ain't got pursued deeply. Megan Leavey is a mess and she joins the marines to run away from her life. But amazingly, she found her life there. I just wish that they dig more about Leavey, show us more about her struggles, her backstory, how she drives for Rex. I was so ready to see some crappy moments for about when she's fighting to adopt Rex, but it turns out to be a bunch of short scenes. I needed a knock-down, instead I get a pinch. There's so much potential: how she bonds with Rex, how they struggle to trust each other, etc. It's a bunch flat sequences for me. But I do love watching her journey. What a brave hero, both Leavey and Rex. It's inspiring and damn it make me miss my dog. I emphatize deeply. The bond we have with our dog, it's irreplacable. It's an unconditional love. And yes we will do anything to be with them. We search for them and they search for us. I wish they've done more. Watching 2 great #movies well, 1 in particular. The #meganleavey is a 4 ☆s based on true story. Very moving & a feel good story. The movie reminds me of the deployment to Iraq. Ramadi is where our 1st Tongan Contingent deployed in 2004 under the Command of the current US Secretary of Defense, General Mattis.
