10 Games We Wish Never Got Canceled

So many incredible concepts and scheduled games have fallen victim to this and we want to take a moment to look back in anger and lament what could have been. So here is our list of ten amazing games we wish weren't canceled.

Legends Never Die, They Just Need Some Time and Change

You know, I'm still bummed about Mega Man Legends 3. I never played the first two games. Heck, my first exposure to the franchise was the NT Warrior cartoon.

I joined the devroom, voted in the contests, everything.

I bought the 3DS exclusively for the game, only to be disappointed with its cancellation.

I joined the Get Me Off the Moon movement; we made waves, did Q&As, livestreams, preserved devroom pieces. Capcom said "Yeah, we hear you, but it's not happening."

Does that mean we should give up, after being part of developing what is essentially our game?

No.

While we may not get the game going right now, we can wait for the legacy collection to catch up.

For those who don't know, Capcom needs money in order to operate. Their resources are finite and they must make decisions to ensure they make a profit. That's why they treat certain games (Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) the same way Activision makes CoD games, a surefire way to make money. However, they also release ports to gauge fan reaction in order to make games of their other respected franchises.

It's called "The Capcom test."

If port sales are good, they can make an estimated guess, take a chance, and make a game related to said port.

Megaman legacy collection sell good? Megaman 11.

X legacy collection sell good? XDive Offline.

Zero/ZX legacy collection sell good? Eh, not really, but you kind of expect that when those games are both niche and hard, something you can't rely on if you want to make a profit.

Battle Network legacy collection sell good? Yep.

Each of those collections have reached $1M within two months of release, except Zero/ZX.

And now we have two sub series left: Starforce and Legends.

I'm predicting Capcom will release Starforce first in 2026. Why? That would be the twentieth year anniversary of its japanese release. Why the Japanese release and not international? It would help space out releases between collections, since 2027 would be the thirtieth year anniversary of legends.

And this is crucial. When (and I mean WHEN) Capcom releases the Legends legacy collection (with better controls, HD graphics, all that good modern stuff), and it sells well (like a million copies), then the higher ups would start negotiating if they should finish the story and finally agree to developing Mega Man Legends 3.

But until then, keep making noise. When people say "vote with your wallet," Capcom takes it to heart. So vote megaman. Buy the legacy collections. Buy multiple copies. Join their super elections website, and vote blue bomber.

Because Legends Never Die.

Okay now finally I garner enough bravery to try out some of Juno's attacks, because even with the few instances where he moves his parts more than a few angles I still have to draw that along with his entire body. It's frightening, how he can move so fast with all that weight, it really is like being attacked by a living wedding bell.

To be Legendary headcanons (The Legends Reborn Reboot cause it’s important also mostly the Caskett-Light fam-)

- There are running bets and theories about Xavier (X)’s past among diggers that have known him for years. Because not only that he's a mystery but also because he has the habit of dropping parts of his past without elaboration. Most of these parts sounded absolutely ridiculous without context. Perhaps to mess with once a while.

X calmly drinking coffee with a friend: At least it is not as bad as 50 large men coming out from a single car after an elevator crash. It was the worst clown car joke that I have ever seen.

(It does not help that Axl is onto the bets. There’s also bets about his past too but he's really into the bit unlike X)

Volnutt has the habit of collecting bootleg stuff from gift shops. You know those glued together Frankenstein animal statues? Yeah those things, some are displayed in his room. Roll hates it with a passion. It's even worse that X has a habit of collecting old memorabilia and storing them somewhere safe. Perhaps that habit was unknowingly passed on to him.

- Volnutt would often yell at Roll for being messy. Especially having all of her tools lying around causing him to trip on them several times. And don’t get him started on the Sock, there was an entire saga that Barrell would still laugh to this very day. X has absolutely no idea what really happened that day.

- Roll and X play chess most of their off days, Volnutt wanted to play but it’s boring for him and can’t focus. Roll on the other welcomes the challenge and still wants to beat him even after losing to him in 12 out of their 20 rounds. Barrell is the only one that can match X’s chess prowless.

- X is awarded as the number 1 couch napper of all time and no this isn’t a joke. Once he sits on his favorite arm chair or on the couch after chores, he’ll go out like a light literally.

- The entire Caskett Family have a coffee addiction it’s in their systems. And unfortunately X is also addicted to it. But has more of a sweet tooth and Volnutt doesn’t like coffee that much so he stays with water. They have a special coffee just for them called the “Caskett special” made by Barrell himself! (We don’t talk about the Monstergizer incident that was all on Roll trying to make her own special blend)

- The moment that Roll started to call X “Dad” is when she was 8 years old. It was the moment that left him with the mix of shock, joy and guilt since he didn’t intend to replace Roll’s actual parents. It hurts Barrell but he’s aware that X didn’t intended to replace them, since her and Vol were raised as siblings by both him and X . It would make sense that Roll would see him like a Father.

Even if Roll knew that X isn’t really her “Real” dad, she still considers him as much like one. Since he loves her very dearly and is fiercely protective of her as he is with Vol.

The whole Joe situation is gonna wreck her once she puts the pieces together, that he just straight up leaves Kalinka without talking to her even after somewhat regaining his memories back. Thankfully her Adopted Father and Siblings are there to support her.

Hello! So this was originally going to be an ask but it spiraled out of my control and it got too long so here we are :D I hope you enjoy my ramblings. Also I'm not a writer so I'm sorry if I sometimes don't make sense (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)

Your legends reborn AU has given me brain worms and ideas and I would like to share them if you don't mind! :D

It's mostly about Zero.

So, in one of your posts you said that you view the guardians' animalistic traits as a sign of freedom and that got me thinking about Zero.

I'm not 100% sure on how you interpret him, or how you want him to be in the au but from what I've gathered you like to see him as a Creature™ and it's how i view him too most times!

I love your head cannon that Zero can go on all fours because was not only made to be the ultimate weapon but also the ultimate predator (or hunter I don't remember the exact word you used)

So I was thinking that in your legends reborn au, since it's a time of peace and he is not a war machine anymore, he's (mostly) not a weapon anymore! :D

So, his predator/ hunter side is more present which makes his animalistic traits more prominent then the guardians. He can run on all fours, has paws :3, I like imagining him using his hair/mane as a bed or a blanket, and maybe give him some wings to reflect the absolute armor and the mother elf a little since she was based on him. (I still think he wears armor though)

I just want them to represent how free he is in the new world. I see the world of megaman legends as being very freeing for a being like Zero.

I think he has always lived in very restricting conditions. As I said before this man is a Creature™ and I don't think Wily ever intended for him to be a social one or to live in crowded places like a city (cuz he was supposed to Destroy those). I imagine living in the hunters HQ with so many reploids never felt quite right to him.

And Sure he could act like other reploids and mostly blend in but his mind was still so different he had to work extra hard to fit in. (Basically he's had to mask so hard for most of his life)

I think the only time he felt most like he was in his natural habitat was in the Zero games when he was mindlessly destroying thousands of enemies in large spaces to achieve a goal, and mostly not talking to people. It was still not very fun for him though, since missing most of his memories, and missing people he did not remember did not feel nice.

Then he wakes up in a world where there is no war, no virus, no mavericks, no great or good he needed to die for. Only (relative) peace and a strange new body that needed to sleep and eat.

His body is hard to get used to. The prospect of hunting is not new to him, but eating definitely is, and sleeping is just as hard. Getting used to it is challenging enough that it distracts him from thinking about his situation too hard at first.

After a while, it starts to hit him that he doesn't have a purpose. He had always had something he had to do, something or someone to fight for. But now there was no one and the peace he and his loved ones had fought so hard for was achieved. Now his only purpose was to keep himself alive and help some of the people he finds in trouble, because what else does he do?

This makes him feel empty at first but then it's starts to feel so natural. To just exist, to hunt and help people he finds along the way, to learn about this new world and finally live.

He had never really lived before, not like this, his life was always dominated by being a weapon first. And later, accidentally adopting someone will really make him feel like he's alive.

He still misses X, Axl and many others terribly, but he tries to keep himself busy

Aaaa anyway, what I wanted to get at is that he's finally truly free. Like X is. And I like to portray that as him being able to be more wild.
