i was introducing a friend to the lore of megaman yesterday and i've found that a lot of people seem to be under the impression that Roll is a soft and pure innocent angel who could never hurt another living soul

one part of this can likely be chalked up to how women in video games have had a tumultuous history in fact, women weren't invented until Ms. Pac-Man in 1981 and perfected in 1985 with Mach Rider and another part can be chalked up to how on a whole franchise level the female characters are often pushed to the side for background roles and/or ship-fodder

but, moving away from out-of-universe speculation into in-universe occurrences, she helps craft multiple weapons and weapon upgrades for Megaman to use in 8 and we have surprising consistency with Roll being willing to just fucking lay people to bed even in the mainline continuity

rock is the one that became megaman, but this does not mean roll has no feelings on the matter nor that she is incapable of it. roll is kind. roll is domestic. roll is feminine. but roll is also built from the same specs as rock.

a holstered gun does not mean an empty gun, it just means that you are not being aimed at.
