Wip jumpscare

The pair stop in their tracks once they hear footsteps. They take a moment to listen and close their eyes, focusing intently. Heavy, but gentle footsteps echoed across the hall. The tiny crackling of a flame could be heard, as well as a small tune being hummed by this person. They open their eyes and walk up to him.

“Hi Fire Man, how are you holding up?” Rock asks, curious, but genuine smile on his face.

Fire Man turns to them, tired smile forming on his face, it was noticeable, even under that mouthpiece that covered his mouth. He decided to pull that part of his helmet down and sighs.

“Elec Man’s out again. Playing.” He says, flame on his head getting smaller due to the concern for his brother. “As always.” He mumbles.

Roll can’t help but frown. “He’ll be okay. He’s one of the best; always making it out in the end.”

Rock nods. “Yeah Fire, don’t let it worry you too much. He’s still trying to get the newest member of the band acquainted. I’m sure they’re still trying to figure things out.”

The fire robot nods, relaxing a bit at their words, but not completely. The bot was easy to read, flame on his head getting bigger or smaller depending on the emotion he’s feeling. It was small, just like his hope, love, and compassion at this point. Fire Man decides to change the subject; not wanting to talk about himself anymore.

“How’s Xavier doing?” Roll’s face darkens a bit at the question, making Fire Man even more concerned than he already was.

Rock twiddles his thumbs, a bad habit he picked up from a human he saw once. “He’s uhm…still sleeping.”

Fire Man frowns. “For how long? It’s not fair. He deserves to wake up and see the world, or what’s left of it.”

Roll shakes her head. “Don’t let the doctor hear you. He still thinks X isn’t ready.”

Rock takes note of the use of ‘X’, a nickname, but also a variable, meaning infinite potential, which is exactly what Xavier had. Poor bot has been asleep for so long. He needs to wake up; see the world and how it is. To at least be alive, even if it is for a short while.
