the mmz nine sols au! im still working out the broad details but the idea is that x, zero, ciel, dr weil, and the four guardians are all sols working on curing the tiandao/maverick virus, and X actually is able to create a cure for it! but dr weil, wanting to use the virus to control the solarian population, kills x and zero and creates genetic copies of them (copy x and omega) so he can continue his scheming unimpeded. X is dead for real but zero survives through some means similar to yi and is eventually awoken by ciel who has grown suspicious of the council's motivations and wants his help taking them down.

You may remember the drawing up top from that time-lapse I did a while back. Well, this little Zero-lookalike is Roze! He's part of an idea I have not yet finished, but someday I really would like to finish, a Mega Man Zero AU that relies heavily on cues from the manga. I've mentioned this manga a few times already, and I love it! Roze would not be here without it. He's scared of everything, thinks everything is out to get him (but not everyone). When it counts, he can step up to be the hero everybody needs, but he needs a boost from his (Cyber-Elf) Dad sometimes. [Read that as 'almost all the time]. I'm still trying to flesh out his character so he isn't 'just a coward who can pull through' all the time, and that's why there's so much expression work.

I was skimming through the ZX Mangas to try and gather some references for ZX Era clothing, which is tragically lacking btw, and when I got to the introduction to the Gaurdian Base with the angle they show it at, you can actually see that the figure at the front of the ship seems to be modelled after Ciel. Like that is very much her hairstyle, at least with the bangs. I think even the face shape is kind of similar.

Hell if you look closely this is even in the game, just hard to see because of the upward angle. I do have to wonder if it was supposed to mean anything or if it's just a coincidence.
