A coord idea that I really want to try
So I have these two pieces:

Noblesse Oblige by Kaneko and Antique Frames And Royal Jewelry by Baroque x Sakizo
And I've had them sitting in my closet for a bit because I just don't have enough in my wardrobe to style them with. I think my main issue is headgear. I have a gold filigree masquerade style mask that I could use for the Baroque JSK, but it seems too small for such a nice dress. And I don't have any black KCs or berets.
But!
I have an idea. I think that a Tudor era French hood could look really cool!

Something like these. I would probably want to make two separate hoods because of the difference in colours and styles between the two dresses (the Kaneko one being more like the one on the left, the Baroque one being more like the one on the right) but I think that a French hood would be the solution to my problem. I would obviously edit a couple things, like making the hood not cover my ears, and maybe add some less historical embellishments to make it fit more with lolita than having it be a completely historically accurate piece.
I found a website that shows how to make them and they seem like a relatively simple project, though I have very little experience making any sort of headwear outside of putting a bow on a headband. I would like to try making at least one for my Baroque dress when I have more time later this year.
Has anyone else tried using a French hood in lolita? I've seen a couple for sale from Taobao scaled up a bit and decorated for a more lolita style, but I've never seen anyone wear it.
#fun fact both of these dresses are usually over $250 secondhand but I got the Kaneko one for like 50 and the Baroque one for 140#buy secondhand lolita and attend your comm's swap meets!!!#lolita fashion#egl#classic lolita#gothic lolita#historic costuming#tudor era#sakizo#baroque lolita#opera omnia#sewing#sewing ideas

Not only was Tudor men's fashion ostentatious, so were their beards and hairstyles. The ruff fashion trend saw hair lengths shorten to accommodate the oversized accessory. Hair styling could vary from lank and unkempt to exquisitely trimmed and tended. CC links and reference images under the cut.

ᗩᗷOᑌT ᗰE
Hey! Thought I'd go ahead and make a more informed post about who I am and what I plan on doing with my blog!
You can call me Coffee, I'm 20 years old and currently in college obtaining a degree in criminal justice and I plan on going into correctional work!
I recently finished the Eltingville comics and in a desperate search for some x reader/OC content I made a tumblr blog.
I don't necessarily have a favorite character, I'm biased on Bill and Jerry, but Josh and Pete are always cool. And of course I made an OC named Becca! I plan on drawing the other girls but until then, let me just give you their info!
The girl's history
They go to a Catholic high school in Eltingville that's across town from the public high school the boys attend. They're much better about hiding their interests, but it can still sometimes slip through the cracks, and it's enough that they don't typically get asked to hang out with other people and can even cause trouble at school. They've known each other since middle school and have been stuck together ever since. It isn't until a field trip to the local museum that was a funded partnership between both schools, do the girls meet the Eltingville Club. Since students from neither school wanted to be a group with the 8 of them, their teachers kinda forced them to be a group.
**everyone is 17-18 and seniors, I don't plan on making NSFW so yeah**
𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂 '𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂' 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓

A movie and TV show fanatic, she's watched just about anything she can get her hands on
has started indulging in musicals, keeps a few burned CDs of her favorites
Can come off as entitled, especially since she's coming from the nicer side of town, will bat her eye lashes at her dad for some pocket money and then turn around and go full on bitchy, her friends consider her two faced. She just calls it putting on a show
When she meets the Eltingville Club, and figures out they actually meet up and do stuff, she can't help but want in and before the girls part from them, she finds a pre-made card on Bill and picks it off him (why he has this when they're so exclusive, noone knows)
Basically shows up with her name signed and constantly tries to force herself in, at some point after many failed attempts, she forms her own club with her friends and that sets Bill off, which results in an upstanding rivalry
Has sleek layered hair, she was brunette but in a fit of rebellion she threw purple dye on it. Her mom was terribly upset but the grounding didn't last very long
𝕮ᥲ𝗍һᥱrіᥒᥱ '𝕮ᥲ𝗍һᥡ' 𝕸ᥲrіᥱ 𝕵᥆ᥒᥱs

Raised by hippies, a total vegan, and can be kind of obnoxious when it comes to people who eat meat
Usually wears skirts and dresses with floral elements, she's very fascinated by historical fashion, especially the Tudor era
Is also VERY big on fantasy, but much more on the princess side of things, loves the Labyrinth (in a different way than Becca), definitely would've married the goblin king
Cathy is also a huge fan of the Princess Bride, Never Ending Story, rapunzel. If she was shown star wars she'd love Princess Leia
Forces the girls to LARP fantasy scenarios, refuses to call it roleplay or consider the fact it's roleplay, she just calls it make believe
She's pretty reserved, with an airy voice, is mostly fidgeting with her long blonde hair
She is definitely a 'fake hippie', she does live uptown and down the Street from Becca, although you can't blame her too badly, it's just how her parents raised her
Will fall onto the floor and cry, don't try her, she'll do it
ᴍᴇɢʜᴀɴ 'ᴍᴇɢ' ᴇᴠᴀ ᴀʙʀᴀᴍs

Crazy curly hair, super thick mane that she has a huge routine for, and super big on self care
DO NOT CALL HER FAT, she will clock your tea (if clocking tea was taking her fist and shoving it through your nose) she is simply tall and broad, she's the youngest of four brothers and her dad is a wrestling coach, she's simply built
Lives on the outskirts of the neighborhood Becca and Cathy live in, it's near the public park so the girls are usually over at her house
A big music person, loves any and all kinds, although she's been more into Rap Rock
Burns CDs for everyone, it's where Becca get most of hers from, chronically carries a Walkman
Has music posters all over her walls, from Tupac to ABBA
The only one with a car, it's used but still kinda new and reliable, it's one of the numerous things the girl's have over the guys, Bill has considered throwing rocks but has surprisingly refrained
𝔏𝔦𝔩𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔞 '𝔏𝔦𝔩' 𝔎𝔞𝔶 𝔅𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔥𝔦

Got in on a scholarship, and actually lives near Pete! Surprisingly, they've never run into each other, maybe that's for their own good
Has one older brother who works and her single mom who is a CN so she's usually left on her own, they live in apartments downtown, sometimes Meg will pick her up for school but most times she has to take the city bus
A trad goth outside of school, has the teased black hair, white makeup, all the nine yards. However, her mom hates the look, and often she can only wear it when she knows she'll be out and not coming back same time as her family
Not into gore but very into the vampire scene, likes most supernatural creatures and enjoys a good conspiracy theory
Big on poetry, writing, literature, it's how she got into the school. Not very big on the school uniform though...
Doesn't talk very much, or at all, sometimes she'll whisper and surprisingly Becca can hear her, but other than that no dice
Well! You'll guys have to let me know how you like it, I've been sitting and thinking on them for a very hot minute and wanted to share them somewhere!

Grimsthorpe Castle
Hi guys!!
I'm sharing another grand english state!
House History: The building was originally a small castle on the crest of a ridge on the road inland from the Lincolnshire fen edge towards the Great North Road. It is said to have been begun by Gilbert de Gant, Earl of Lincoln in the early 13th century. However, he was the first and last in this creation of the Earldom of Lincoln and he died in 1156. Gilbert's heyday was the peak time of castle building in England, during the Anarchy. It is quite possible that the castle was built around 1140. However, the tower at the south-east corner of the present building is usually said to have been part of the original castle and it is known as King John's Tower. The naming of King John's tower seems to have led to a misattribution of the castle's origin to his time.
Gilbert de Gant spent much of his life in the power of the Earl of Chester and Grimsthorpe is likely to have fallen into his hands in 1156 when Gilbert died, though the title 'Earl of Lincoln' reverted to the crown. In the next creation of the earldom, in 1217, it was Ranulph de Blondeville, 4th Earl of Chester (1172–1232) who was ennobled with it. It seems that the title, if not the property was in the hands of King John during his reign; hence perhaps, the name of the tower.
During the last years of the Plantagenet kings of England, it was in the hands of Lord Lovell. He was a prominent supporter of Richard III. After Henry VII came to the throne, Lovell supported a rebellion to restore the earlier royal dynasty. The rebellion failed and Lovell's property was taken confiscated and given to a supporter of the Tudor Dynasty.[2]
The Tudor period
This grant by Henry VIII, Henry Tudor's son, to the 11th Baron Willoughby de Eresby was made in 1516, together with the hand in marriage of Maria de Salinas, a Spanish lady-in-waiting to Queen Catherine of Aragon. Their daughter Katherine inherited the title and estate on the death of her father in 1526, when she was aged just seven. In 1533, she became the fourth wife of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, a close ally of Henry VIII. In 1539, Henry VIII granted Charles Suffolk the lands of the nearby suppressed Vaudey Abbey, founded in 1147, and he used its stone as building material for his new house. Suffolk set about extending and rebuilding his wife's house, and in only eighteen months it was ready for a visit in 1541 by King Henry, on his way to York to meet his nephew, James V of Scotland. In 1551, James's widow Mary of Guise also stayed at Grimsthorpe. The house stands on glacial till and it seems that the additions were hastily constructed. Substantial repairs were required later owing to the poor state of the foundations, but much of this Tudor house can still be seen today.
During Mary's reign the castle's owners, Katherine Brandon, Duchess of Suffolk (née Willoughby) and her second husband, Richard Bertie, were forced to leave it owing to their Anglican views. On Elizabeth's succeeding to the throne, they returned with their daughter, Susan, later Countess of Kent and their new son Peregrine, later the 13th Baron. He became a soldier and spent much of his time away from Grimsthorpe.
The Vanbrugh building
By 1707, when Grimsthorpe was illustrated in Britannia Illustrata, the 15th Baron Willoughby de Eresby and 3rd Earl Lindsey had rebuilt the north front of Grimsthorpe in the classical style. However, in 1715, Robert Bertie, the 16th Baron Willoughby de Eresby, employed Sir John Vanbrugh to design a Baroque front to the house to celebrate his ennoblement as the first Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven. It is Vanbrugh's last masterpiece. He also prepared designs for the reconstruction of the other three ranges of the house, but they were not carried out. His proposed elevation for the south front was in the Palladian style, which was just coming into fashion, and is quite different from all of his built designs.
The North Front of Grimsthorpe as rebuilt by Vanbrugh, drawn in 1819. Vanbrugh's Stone Hall occupies the space between the columns on both floors.
Inside, the Vanbrugh hall is monumental with stone arcades all around at two levels. Arcaded screens at each end of the hall separate the hall from staircases, much like those at Audley End House and Castle Howard. The staircase is behind the hall screen and leads to the staterooms on the first floor. The State Dining Room occupies Vanbrugh's north-east tower, with its painted ceiling lit by a Venetian window. It contains the throne used by George IV at his Coronation Banquet, and a Regency giltwood throne and footstool used by Queen Victoria in the old House of Lords. There is also a walnut and parcel gilt chair and footstool made for the use of George III at Westminster. The King James and State Drawing Rooms have been redecorated over the centuries, and contain portraits by Reynolds and Van Dyck, European furniture, and yellow Soho Tapestries woven by Joshua Morris around 1730. The South Corridor contains thrones used by Prince Albert and Edward VII, as well as the desk on which Queen Victoria signed her coronation oath. A series of rooms follows in the Tudor east range, with recessed oriel windows and ornate ceilings. The Chinese drawing room has a splendidly rich ceiling and an 18th-century fan-vaulted oriel window. The walls are hung with Chinese wallpaper depicting birds amidst bamboo. The chapel is magnificent with superb 17th-century plasterwork.

This house fits a 64x64 lot and features several impressive rooms, more than 29 bedrooms, a servants hall and several state rooms!
I only decored some of the main rooms, for you to have a glimpse of the distribution. The rest is up to you, as I have stated that I do not like interiors :P
Be warned: I did not have the floor plan for the tudor rooms, thus, the distribution is based on my own decision and can not fit the real house :P.
You will need the usual CC I use: all of Felixandre, The Jim, SYB, Anachrosims, Regal Sims, TGS, The Golden Sanctuary, Dndr recolors, etc.
Please enjoy, comment if you like it and share pictures with me if you use my creations!

Raven queen and Apple White.
Year One redesigns.
Hello again, had some more ever after high art drafted up for a bit now, and I felt I might as well get it properly finished and coloured ahead of something big I have planned next weekend...
These designs are in essence, Raven and Apple's designs for when they first meet at ever after high, because plot their styles will change overtime, and I have plenty of concepts for where they're going to go that I'll eventually get around to drawing...
Also stay tuned for some more eah art of a similar ilk tomorrow btw. (It's another redesign, can you guess who?)
Design details down below:
Apple's design was primarily inspired by the high fashion of the 1940s and 1950s, with particular mention given to the famed dior "new look" dress of the era, with a bit of medieval and tudor flair to it. (The idea being that apple, true to form usually dresses in the same vein as her mother, whom she is eager to please and live up to,maybe a bit too much for her own good...)

Raven as we all know and love is a Goth through and through, and while this design is far from the absolute heights my version of Raven will go in regards to gothic and goth elements in her designs you can hopefully still see some inspiration from that in this initial design.
Raven's design also reflects her upbringing and personality. Not wanting to turn out like her mother and growing up in a poor, cold part of the world leads Raven to deviate from the expected style for the evil queen even before formally rebelling (for example wearing one of her dad's waistcoats over her dress and incorporating soft blues in with black and purple)
Another thing to note is that my version of Raven is Punjabi, and as such I decided to have her wear the traditional dress-and-scarf combo traditionally worn by punjabi women.

Mary I's Fight For The Throne
3rd August - Mary triumphantly enters London
Mary arrives at Whitechapel around 6pm, and after a brief stop to change clothes, proceeds to pass through the city "accompanied with gentlemen, squires, knights, and lords, with a great number of strangers all in velvet coats riding before her, with all the King's trumpeters, heralds, and sergeants at arms." 1
This includes the Imperial ambassadors, who confirm "the Venetian ambassador was there too; but not the ambassador of the King of France." 2
The new queen wears a "gown of purple velvet French fashion, with sleeves of the same, her kirtle purple satin all thick set with goldsmiths work and great pearls, with her foresleeves of the same set with rich stones, with a rich bowdricke of gold, pearls, and stones about her neck, and a riche billement of stones and great pearls on her hood, her palfrey that she rode on richly trapped with gold embroidered to the horse feet, and another rich trapped palfrey led after her highness by Sir [Edward] Hastings, master of the horse." 3
The Imperial ambassadors believe "Her look, her manner, her gestures, her countenance were such that in no event could they have been improved.[...] her face is more than middling-fair." 4
She enters London at Aldgate, which is "richly hanged with arras and set with streamers." 5 She meets the Lord Mayor and Recorder here, who salute her highness. The Recorder says:
"Pleaseth your highness, my Lord Mayor, here present, in the name of his brethren and all the commons of this your highness city and chamber of London, most humbly beseecheth your highness to be good and gracious Sovereign to these commons of this your city like as your highnesses noble progenitors aforetime have been, and, according to their bounden duty at your highnesses coming, my Lord Mayor presenteth here your highness with the sceptre pertaining to the office, in token of loyalty and homage, most humbly welcome your highness to this your highnesses city and chamber of London." 6
The Lord Mayor then kisses the sceptre and passes it to Mary, who answers:
"My Lord Mayor, I heartily thank you and all your brethren the aldermen of your gentleness showed unto me, which shall not be forgotten, for I have known you ever to have bene good toward me." 7
Her words are "so gently spoken and with so smiling a countenance that the hearers wept for joy." 8
Mary then proceeds down the street, with the Mayor of London bearing "the mace, and the earl of Arundel bore the sword, and all the trumpets [blew]; and next [after] her my lady Elizabeth. After Elizbeth the duchess of Norfolk, and next [after] her the marquess of Exeter, [and other] ladies, and after [them] the aldermen, and then the guard with bows." 9 The guards wore "green and white, red and white, and blue and green." 10 All these colours were significant liveries in Mary's past - the green and white being the Tudor livery, red and white belonging to Henry VIII and the blue and green being the personal livery Mary herself had her household wear when Princess of Wales.
The streets are "richly hanged with clothes of arras and silk" 11 and "gravelled all the way [...] And all the streets by the way as her highness rode standing so full of people shouting and crying Jesus save her Grace, with weeping tears for joy, that the like was never seen before." 12
Rails have been placed down the streets for the large crowds, where citizens and merchants stand with "streamers and banners of every Company or occupation standing at [the] rails, every Company in their best liveries." 13
Various celebrations have been prepared for her, including a "great stage covered with canvas where all the children of Christ's Hospital sat." 14 There are "about one hundred poor little children [...] all dressed in blue, with red caps upon their heads. They were given to the Queen to nourish and care for them, the eldest not being over twelve or fourteen. One of them addressed a prayer to her Majesty that she might take them under her care." 15
There are four stages in all between Algate and the Tower, where "clerks and musicians stood playing and singing goodly ballads, which rejoiced the queen's highness greatly." 16
In the Tower, there were "terrible and great shots of guns shot within the Tower and all about the Tower wharf that the like hath not been heard, for they never ceased shooting from the time her highness entered in at Algate till she came to Mark Lane end, which was like great thunder, so that it had been like to an earthquake." 17
As well as gunshots, bells "so long disused" 18 are ringing out in celebration across the capital.
The Lord Mayor leaves when Mary reaches the Tower. Inside "The Duke of Norfolk, Doctor Gardner, late bishop of Winchester, and Mr. [Edward] Courtney, prisoners in the Tower, kneeled on the hill within the Tower asking pardon." 19 Anne Seymour, late Duchess of Somerset is also amongst the group who "presented themselves before the Queen to ask for her pardon and their full liberty."20 Mary "gently saluted, bidding them rise up." 21 and "kissed them, and said These are my prisoners." 22. She "replied that they had done nothing for which they should sue for mercy, and she was sorry that they should have suffered and been detained for so long. She gave her full consent to their liberation." 23
Mary has now taken possession of the Tower of London as England's reigning monarch. All that remains is the coronation "which will take place as soon as the necessary preparations can be made." 24
Meanwhile...
On the 8th of August King Edward VI is buried. At his burial there was "a standard with a dragon, and then a great number of his servants in black, and then another standard with a white greyhound, and then after a great number of his officers." The chariot conveying his body was covered with cloth of gold and an effigy of the king with "his sceptre in his hand, lying in his robes, and the garter about his leg, and a coat in embroidery of gold; about the corpse were borne four banners, a banner of the order [of the Garter], another of the red rose, another of queen Jane (Seymour), another of the queen's mother." 25

I think the reason the "evil Lady Rochford" story has lasted so long is that it... makes sense? If you think about how much planning and secrecy must've gone into sneaking Culpeper around, what sort of character she had to think that was not just moral, but safe to do, it's easy to put her into AB's fall too. I haven't read Julia Fox but Jane's wiki is almost all based on it. I kind of assumed the whole "Jane rehab" fashion was saying she never testified against AB, but if the wiki is right, JF says she did, but it's still not her fault and we should not blame her? Like how? But I can't bring myself to like her. She served one queen she knew was falsely accused and killed, so what the hell was she doing actually trying to set up adultery for KH? How was this a good idea? And that time she tried to leave them alone and KH called her back, like KH wanted a chaperone to make the meeting legit, but Jane wanted to leave, like encouraging them to go further, really doesn't sit right with me. I just don't feel she deserves this "she never did anything wrong" sympathy she gets.
I mean, you can't judge the book only on the summary, I would say read it even if you don't agree with the summary. You have to know what exactly you're arguing against.
Respectfully I'm going to agree to disagree with most of this, but I would say that I rec James Taffe's book about her to you, I think you'd enjoy it; he has a similar view of her character (although my personal opinion, if JF's was something of an Overcorrection, JT's was an Overcorrection of the Overcorrection, and as I said earlier, while I fall somewhere in between their views, I fall closer to Fox's).
I don't really think her conduct with KH was the best, although I don't agree with you entirely, but the 'she never did anything wrong' resonated because... idk, I'm a trans man so I have a different perspective on the way in which Tudor women are discussed than most, ig? And this thing (not limited to JB but she's certainly an example) of All Women Had To Do Exactly What They Were Asked By Their Betters Without Exception At All Times Or Else And Had No Room to Maneuever And Had No Choice E v e r is so.... especially when we are talking about aristocratic women?? Aristocratic women that were considered, by their standards, and ours, adults? Women with relative freedom for their time? Imagine how tired we are.
#anon#over...compensation? is there a better word for this? probably#but yeah. jane could have. you know. left katherine howard's service?#if she felt she was being put in a difficult or dangerous situation and that kh just wasn't going to listen to her#which is as i recall what JF argues#anyway it was poor judgement#i would say i find her compelling if only for the reason you ask; why?#maybe she just assumed henry would die soon. although his health that year was not as bad as it would get later. he was certainly getting#up there....#anyway tl; dr you do not have to 'like' her but i think you should read both and then see if they answer anything for you#both biographies are quite exhaustive#but i would say taffe interrogated some sources more deeply than fox and vice versa#that's why i think it's best to read both! certainly expanded and grounded my understanding#more aggressively*? idk. but hopefully ykwim

Falling for Nightwing
Chapter one:
My scarey vampire father hissed at me. "My daughter! Stay in your room. We have distinguished company tonight. I can't have you interfere. "
"Ah! B-b-but why-y? I promise to n-n...not interfere. I know where I b-belong."
"You belong in your room! If you are needed, the maid will escort you, but that is unlikely, given your iq." My vampire dad crackled and swished his cape around as he floated away down the hallway.
I begrudgingly made my way up the stairs to my grand but cold feeling room. My pale and hollow features ridden with sadness as I am once again banished to my room for being such a disaster of a child. Father may be tough but he loved me enough to know when to hide me away so I didn't feel embarrassed by someone seeing my dreadful features.
In my room, I wallow in self pity. I know I do not deserve to do so, but my soft feminine heart can not take such harsh comments from the brutal truth of a man's words. I let out a wobbly cry into the palms of my hands, my small frame shaking at the mere velocity.
A soft knock startles me from my pity party. The maid pokes her head in, "Miss, your father requires your presence. Let's get you cleaned up a little first."
"R-right away...I am a c-complete m-m-mess right now. Father will h-hate me..."
The maid smiled kindly, like she agreed. She cleared the snot from my face and dressed me in my finest navy blue tudor renaissance dress, which was high fashion in the recent 16th century.
At the end of such an extravagant make over, the maid tries to put my hair in a half up half down look with a sparkling diamond in crested hair clip to tie the whole thing together. But, I suddenly stop her, finding the hair too feminine and girly girl. I do not appreciate nor fit with those traditional girly hairstyles. Instead, I simply grab a hair tie and tie it into a messy bun before smiling at myself in the mirror. The maid looks disgusted but quickly smiles back acting as if I hadn't caught her.
I turn to the maid quickly with a nervous smile, the action making her take a step back in what looks like caution, as if I had some serious disease. Hah. I look up at her
"W-w-why exactly was it t-tha...that father w-wanted me?" I ask in a meek, petite voice.
"You see Miss, your father would like you to use your feminine influences to garner a better deal from the batman." She turned, "I'll escort you."
My coquette, small frame turns left and right through the many hallways of my father's mansion as i follow the maid, while my thoughts take the same sharp turns through my brain. I try to reason as to why father would trust a hideous beast as my self to help him with the important matter. Maybe, just possibly, he could believe I'm something more than a mistake. No! Of course not! I want to slap my caked up face from the stupidity of the thought.
While shaking my head, I see a boyish figure in red, black and yellow, lurking in the shadows. Suspicious. Something I should surely warn father or at least the maid about, but I instead turn my head straight ahead and forget exactly what I had just seen. Surely there will be no consequences due to my actions, or lack there of. Haha, of course not. My smile is eerily serene and the maid looks back at me before walking faster, as if trying to lose me.
As I enter the dinning room, I see a full spread of food, which is unusual because father doesn't eat that. The batman is sitting adjacent to my father, robed in black with silly little ears. How baby girl of him.
"Wonderful!" My father cried. He stood and clasped me on my shoulder, " Mr.Batman, may I introduce you to my favorite and only child."
The batman looks to have been startled, horrified even, by my introduction, but I shake away that thought as when I blink again, he is as composed as ever, though he fails to maintain eye contact.
He stands, "it's a pleasure to meet you."
As he sits back down, I swiftly grab a seat close to him and scooch my way closer to his side, causing the chair to erupt in a painfully long screeching noise in a rather quiet room. My actions hault when my father stares me down in anger, his entire body rumbling and tumbling. I stop so he doesn't punish me later by making me watch a compilation of Brent Reviera videos for four hours straight. Again.
"So Mr.Batman, I still insist on the original details of my proposal. I don't believe the consuming of humans to be immoral from a being such as myself." Says my vampire dad. "I truly believe that this is a fair trade for what I offer you."
I look between the two with fast eyes, not wanting to miss a second of either of their reactions, despite Mr.Batman maintaining his stoic and constipated look. He makes me quiver in my Chanel pumps. Old ones of course, father would never spend much money on little old me.
As I watch the two closer, more-so Mr.Batman, I try to figure out what would be the best way to seduce him so that I can do my one job correctly and successfully. I train my eyes on him hard and get a sudden thought of something rather disturbing. He looks like the type to have his lovers dress up as sailor moon characters, and make them transform into their costumes before partaking in intimate actions. Mhm, most definitely. I run a finger down his arm and wink.
The batman, seemingly doing his best to ignore my advances, looks over a document in his hand. "Unfortunately, I can't agree to that. I'm aware of the value of what you are offering, but this agreement would cause too much disturbance for it to be worth it."
"Curses!" Yelled vampire dad, throwing his hands in the air. "Perhaps a chosen few every week, you can obtain them based on the qualities I desire. For example, I enjoy when the men have small waists. I believe there is a human term for this. Soupy waists? Singular waist?"
I watch amusdely as the two have their silly little argument about their silly little topic. I havent a clue what theyre talking about, but it sure makes my father make silly expressions with his saggy, clay-like face. Caught up in the moment and not entirely focused on my food, I stab my spoon into the pile of food I'll probably never be allowed to eat again and swoop a big serving onto the silverware. Bringing it closer to myself, I begin opening my mouth as the two suddenly stop and look at me with panicked, frustrated and disappointed but not surprised faces. I eat the spoonful anyways.
"Curses!" Hisses my father.
I black out.

~Archives~
chatsworth house and the Devonshire family own and have many archives within their collection.
Bess of Hardwicks will.
The Duchesses will stated Both the old and new Halls at Hardwick, together with their contents, were bequeathed to Bess of Hardwick's second son William Cavendish. Her eldest son, Henry Cavendish, was to inherit Chatsworth but not its contents, a reflection of their troubled relationship however the contents were bequeathed to William. Chatsworth without its contents were no use to Henry, and he sold his interest in the house to William in 1609 for £8,000. The inventory runs up to six pages and the will to two pages.
1st Dukes Building Accounts.
Few alterations were made at Chatsworth after Bess of Hardwick’s time until the late 17th century. Rebuilding was undertaken by the 4th Earl (from 1694 the 1st Duke) because of concerns about the stability of the Elizabethan structure, and to create a more imposing, comfortable and fashionable house.
The rebuilding took over 20 years to complete, beginning with the South Front, and working anti-clockwise, but often with several sections being altered at the same time and with many changes along the way.
The building accounts of the 1st Duke of Devonshire document the rebuilding of the house over two decades. They include payments to Siberechts (landscape painter), Nadauld (sculptor) and Chéron (painter and illustrator).
Letters from Joseph Paxton.
The 6th Duke of Devonshire became very interested in gardening after he met Joseph Paxton (1803–1865) whom was a young gardener working in the gardens at Chiswick, which adjoined the Duke's land there. Paxton was appointed head gardener at Chatsworth in 1826. At Chatsworth, Paxton built the Great Conservatory between 1836 and 1840, contrived the Emperor Fountain and grew the 'Victoria Regia' water lily for the first time in Europe. Amongst Paxton's many other achievements, he went on to design and build the Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition in 1851. Paxton's correspondence is extant in the collections at Chatsworth. These two letters show Paxton in typical energetic form, the first dealing with housing the 'Victoria Regia' the second with the Crystal Palace.
"We have been obliged to make the Tank for the Victoria as large again as when your Grace saw it. One leaf this morning measured 4 feet across. Nothing can exceed its health and vigor but I fear this extraordinary growth will not go on much longer, as the weather has set in heat, and very cloudy..."
'All is going well with the Great Building but there was a sad accident Tuesday - I am very careful about myself, as I know the danger, the drawings in the Illustrated News are very good, and show it exactly. I am almost bothered to death just now with applications of all sorts, and the demands to take my Portraits is almost beyond endurance, coupled with invitations to dine out, and attend public meetings, all of which are a great bore, and I now decline them all.'
