The medley that would set Iwatobi and Samezuka's teams against each other was only two weeks away; yet, Rin shoulders heaved and dropped softly right in front of him, on his damp couch. None of their friends would have believed it if Haruka and Rin had told them they were going to skip morning training only to be together...

My idea for the MEDLEY! reverse bang was an underwater pose, but in space! I thought it might have been Rin's dream, which is why there are hints of swimsuits.

Luckily, being in the artist's seat meant that I didn't have to come up with the story behind the picture. I partnered with Dragon, who has written a beautiful fic called That Purple Trail!

Warm Me Up

Matsuoka Rin/Nanase Haruka Lenght: 20,575 Rating: T

Kisumi and Sousuke turned towards him with furrowed eyebrows and confused eyes. It was Sousuke who answered his questioning stare, “Do you like the guy or not? Make up your mind, Rin.” “What?! I don’t like Nanase’s presumptuous ass, I was just pointing out a fact.” Objectively, Rin could admit—to himself, very silently—that it was a nice looking ass, but a presumptuous one nonetheless. Or the Hidaka AU no one asked for, in which Rin never got into competitive swimming and he swears to God if Nanase looks up at him with stupidly blue eyes and infuriating little smirk again, he might just strangle the asshole.

It was so fun writing this and I have to thank my partner for giving me the most beautiful inspiration for it, I hope you enjoy!

A preview of Sweet Nectar with Salt Water, a HaruRin fic for the Medley Reverse Bang @thenightpool - based on the beautiful artwork by @sapphiresflame <3 <3

The room was starting to swim in Rin’s vision. He had no more time to think about the situations of Haru’s life outside the immediate interactions with the ex-swimmer. He was laughing at something mundane Haru said which was just so Haru, when Haru leaned in and kissed him over their drinks. Such soft lips, and a sweet, gentle kiss. Rin couldn’t believe what was happening, so he needed to know whether it was an accident in the crowded bar. “Did you mean to do that?” he asked. “Why? Don’t you want that?” Haru asked. “Well, I WANT it, but that’s not why you should do it,” Rin said.  “What if I wanted to do it?” Haru asked seriously.  Rin thought the situation was mighty unexpected but he answered honestly. “Then I’m happy.”  “Happy as a clam?” Haru said as he put a hand on Rin’s knee. “Haru,” Rin admonished, “Is that flirting?” Haru moved his hand up Rin’s thigh slightly and squeezed. “I have no idea how to flirt. I don’t see the need.” 

The synopsis for the fic: When swim coach Rin meets office admin Haru in Australia, things take an unexpected turn as they embark on an exciting night adventure.

Over a year ago, someone on @thenightpool discord suggested that Haru has a twin brother with a slightly evil personality, and I loved the idea so much that I saved it for my MEDLEY! fic.

Yuki turned out more moody than evil, but I have loved viewing Rin and Haru's relationship through his eyes. And I'm excited that I'm partnered with @badpostureart, who is illustrating a moment from the story!

Here is an excerpt from the scene where Yuki meets Rin:

The last time he and Haru had been face to face, they’d been twelve years old. They hadn’t exchanged letters since they were fourteen, and Haru had only accepted his friend request on Line a few months ago. Except for their appearances, they had nothing in common. What were they supposed to do together for an entire weekend? Footsteps. The door rattled in its frame. Yuki straightened his shoulders and stared into the face of a stranger. His red hair was pulled back into a ponytail and he was wearing an oversized black sweater and torn jeans.  “Who the hell are you?” Yuki asked.
