Paul's Japanese name is Shinji. Apparently there can only be One Anime Guy named Shinji, so two of his main ships are NGE references (and there's a third but that one is super niche in the English side of things and has a Japanese ship name surprisingly, so not super relevant). So comashipping comes from the 3rd Evangelion movie from - I shit you not - the fact Asuka fell into a coma. That's our ship name. Shinji seeing Asuka in a coma. Because SURE, the protag/rival ship that has the most Petty Divorced Couple vibes gets the weird ass eva reference. SURE JAN. SURE. (isnt mad about this in the slightest)
