One of the managers at work likes to take and hide peoples stuff as a joke. My manager took my pulse ox when I wasn’t looking. When I noticed it was gone I started to panic. A pulse ox is minimum $30 and I’ve had mine for over 7 years and have named it. So yeah I was panicking. I immediately paged my manager to my register and when he arrived I demanded it back. He did give it back.

I informed him that it was stupid and dangerous of him to take a medical device from someone especially like that.

Centuries old vampire who lives in a grand estate x team of adventurers sent to slay them and end their evil ways but you were only turned in the 2000s. The team hunting you is a diverse, elite squad working for the Intergalactic Alliance of Free Planets; they're honored to serve but the only one excited about the job is an alien scientist they've recently picked up. He thinks of himself as an amateur historian and he loves old earth in a way that makes a lot of humans uncomfortable.

The grand estate is just your old apartment building you've filled with things you find neat. The idea that your little nicknacks could be priceless relics of a time barely remembered in the same way as a Vermeer or medieval manuscript isn't something you think about much. You haven't seen other humans for a very long time, so long that you've taken to spending most of your time asleep in your room.

By the time the squad finds you the humans are terrified with how eerie your "estate" is. They feel like they've entered a whole new world, no way earth could have ever looked like this. Science boy is disturbed too, he feels like he is intruding on holy ground but he can't deny his insatiable curiosity to see even more as they clear room after room, all the way down to the top floor where you lie peacefully asleep in your room. Your bed sheets are dusty, the canopy you put up around you is a cheap flimsy thing from amazon and not four oak posts but he doesn't know the difference.

This is the fairy tale where someone kisses the sleeping beauty and then they wake up, right? Oh please please please let him be the first to volunteer-

Making a level 0 Lancer character just to try it out and I wanted to make a kinda support character, so I ended up with a playstyle that does stuff like using Lock On to support allies, and also placing drones and using tech attacks. When it came time to pick my weapons, I realized I probably won't actually be shooting them too often, so weapons that require reloading won't have that much of a downside.

And that's how my support character ended up wielding a pair of Missile Racks and a Superheavy Cyclone Pulse Rifle.

So I wanted to explain ALL parts of Dr. Pulse in this post but Great Gaia below I have typed way more on just the basics than I wanted so, uh...

DR. PULSE BASICS

So who is Dr. Pulse anyways?

Armed with self-made gloves that store all kinds of equipment. Dr. Pulse is a savant in all things medical, considered a miracle doctor with her surgical skills and deep understanding of chemistry and biology. She often travels in search of others in need, striving to eliminate all ailment, disease and plague in the world.

Dr. Pulse is also known for being a loud, obnoxious, egomaniacal and outright hazardous person to be around. Obsessed with herself as much as she is with diseases of all kinds. Not to mention her being under the effect of Gaia knows how many illicit substances at all times.

Despite her desire to aid and cure, most of that want comes from Pulse's incessant need of recognition and praise rather than just a humble duty. She will insist others to applaud her for so much as gracing her presence upon them and will stop at nothing until anyone who she's saved the life of says loud and clear; "Thank you, Dr. Pulse".

She also has a habit of infecting those around her with whatever disease she has stored in her gloves. For the sake of building immunity, so she says, but truthfully it's so she has more patients.

Dr. Pulse is paradoxically unpleasant and dangerous to have around, but also the one who will take in those in need and work her magic to fix them with the only payment wanted being praise. And knowing that without her, many lives would have been lost, is a fact Pulse herself finds feeling more euphoric than any drug could do.

This all comes from Dr. Pulse's full belief that she alone is this world's savior. Already unfazed by all disease herself, she wants to create the ultimate cure that will rid everyone of sickness for the rest of time. And be praised for it, of course. But she has many samples to gather and subjects (mainly Shadow the Hedgehog) to research beforehand.

I don’t need to be told once my heart rate’s high. I can feel that. I need something that can detect an episode before it happens and also assist me during one. An Apple Watch cannot do that.

Not to mention that I have extremely small wrists (not kidding, they’re 13cm around) and use crutches to walk which makes anything on my wrist very uncomfortable.

Not to mention that I have other medical and mobility issues. An Apple Watch cannot detect seizures in advance, let alone likely non-epileptic ones. An Apple Watch cannot do anything whatsoever for random paralysis.

And Not To Mention I need a service dog for PTSD (I know I’ll have to train that myself since I’m not a veteran).

And all of that is ignoring the fact that an Apple Watch has to be connected to an iPhone with an Apple ID which is not safe for me in my current situation (one of the few things my family still controls is my phone so I am on thin ice with regards to my safety. I don’t need them having access to more devices. Especially not one that can record real time medical information)
