I found this little man on my banana, and I gave him some to share! Any clue what he is? I think he's some kind of isopod but he was so tiny it was hard to get good photos
Mealybug ID - FL, USA:
Hello, yess, this looks like the Long-tailed Mealybug (Pseudococcus longispinus), family Pseudococcidae. They are common in Florida, and other tropical and subtropical parts of the world, often found in greenhouses and on farms.

@hishap submitted: Some friends I encountered!
Location : France
(I’ve had problems with submitting multiple photos at once before, so this is a test : if you can’t see the 6 other pics after the red admiral, I’ll dm it to you so you can add them in. Either way you can delete everything within these parenthesis in the final post)
Seems to have worked just fine! You didn’t ask for IDs so I assume I’m just meant to admire them. And I am! Especially the trashline orbweaver in the second photo :)

Mealybug
Vintage University of Michigan Wolverine, Brought on eBay August 2024
I've seen a few pictures of these guys compared to the larger version, but such little information is available on them that I'm unsure if these size variations had different names. The smaller ones are definitely super scrunkly, and I love them for that!

Today, on bugs I found:
A mealybug eating my petunias.
Pretty cool. It looks like a tiny seashell. Life is a miracle. We threw it over the wall.

Long-tailed mealybug, photo by biolily
Mealybugs are a type of scale insect (and scale insects are a type of true bug in the order Hemiptera) and there are lots of species. They are very common on house plants and can be destructive since they feed on the plant's juices and sometimes introduce plant diseases.

@minigun-aficionado submitted: Hi! I’m from northern Indiana, USA. I was cutting this large weed down from my fence and I noticed these powdery white bumps on the stems! I thought it was some kind of mold, but then they moved a little. They still shed some kind of powder, so I didn’t bother them anymore and let them crawl back to their little colony on the stem. What might they be?
Great followup submission to the last one I posted! These are mealybugs, which are a type of scale insect.
