#I've gotten about 3 hours of sleep within the last 48 hours and I'm still behind in my classes #I don't know how I'm supposed to keep up at this point #Just grinding constantly for hours every waking moment of my life #I'm stuck wondering the same things #'When will it slow down?'... omfg . radio play version of much ado with david as benedick from 2001

#this version of benedick is a lottttt more serious and restrained than the 2011 version #definitely due to the medium and bc it matches the energy of this version of beatrice way better #it's not david and catherine's insane comedic chemistry but it's still really good imo..#like it's obviously not as endlessly fucking funny as the 2011 version but it's still really solid #and i'm impressed with how they did the humor in a 100% audio format #and i actually really love this interpretation of benedick as more cynical and leaning into his Hater side #ironically david's benedick here generally comes off as older and more mature than his benedick 10 years later #'the prince's fool... hAhH???' is obviously extremely funny but also 'the prince's fool... [uppity hmph]' is Inspired #and his outraged 'oh!'s and gasps and sighs when he listens to don pedro/claudio/leonato talking abt beatrice being in love with him #also funnily enough i think benedick's whole monologue after this is SO good. if not better than the 2011 version #cuz it's more restrained you have benedick's haterism actively fighting and losing against his satisfaction and giddy laughter #and the bit where benedick challenges claudio is so ohhhghhgouhgghg #the way his voice deepens with 'and her death shall fall heavy on you' just FLOORS me it's fucking perfect #but also equally as fun are the line readings where they have evidently remained the same (or similar)#my dearrrrr ladyyyy disdaiiiiinnnn #and the 'she misused me past the endurance of a block' rant #and when he's bitching about claudio falling in love w hero #but the vibes are so different this feels like a whole separate guy and that's really cool #i'm not sure how much i would love this production overall if i wasn't as familiar w the play tho #much ado #essentially trying to say in the least embarrassing way possible that david tennant is now both my first and second favorite benedick

hey you know what completely different au of my own fucking original work my brain has occupied itself with now?

au where my girlboss female lead trips back in time and wakes up at age 16 and accidentally gets the interest of her villain fiance because her 10 extra years of life experience made her wayyyy less hostile and wayyy less likely to start a fight with him. it confuses him so much. what's jiang mingxi without constant anger and the desire to punch someone in the face. he doesn't know what to do with this. they have a sparring match for class that DOESN'T devolve into insults and clawing at each other and it throws him into shellshock.

#she's used to the older version of him #the older version of him was so much meaner #he's still mean at 16 but it's like. way less intentional and cutting than she's used to #she's just kind of like: wow i can't believe this kind of thing used to piss me off so much. he says MUCH worse things later #a properly 16 year old jiang mingxi would hear four things from 16 year old yang haoran and immediately get angry at all of them #but with 10 extra years she knows him well enough to go. okay so he didn't mean that first one #was he just being awkward with the second one?#the third one was almost a compliment #OH HE FUCKING MEANT THE FOURTH ONE FUCK YOU #DO I THROW DOWN WITH A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD OR WHAT #anyway my brain is currently occupying the awful territory of!#some weird actual relationship happening #the incredibly odd and discomfiting feeling of 'is this... tsundere?'#'is this that strange thing called... gap moe?'

Love a parallel - especially when it lets us contrast relationships between the characters!

Because when Kinn is talking to Tawan in his cell, he's more open with his emotions - we can clearly see his anger, and that he's not at all conflicted about locking him up.

But it's different with Porsche. Here, Kinn's face is carefully blank - he's showing no real emotion and that's because he's conflicted about his decision here.

We know from the end of this episode and the next that Kinn does not really believe Tawan or think Porsche betrayed him. But he has to play the politics of the situation, because Tawan and his bodyguards are watching his every move.

He has to punish Porsche or his plans will be ruined (though punishing him will end up turning it into a shit show anyways)

But he knows doing this will hurt Porsche deeply. So, Kinn locks down on his own emotions to get through it.

Even as that cold, blank expression hurts Porsche even more.

i may be the stupidest person alive

so im afraid of bugs right. and there was a HUGE bug in my apt today and i freaked out and spent like 5 minutes trying to get it out. and after i got it out i thought it might be a hornet so i googled pictures of hornets to compare. but what i didnt consider was that a close-up picture of a hornet would scare the shit out of me. so i pull up the picture and freak out again and threw my phone across the room instinctively. so i gave up on finding out what kind of bug it was and started doing something else. THEN 10 minutes later i open my phone to find out i never actually closed the picture of the hornet so i got scared AGAIN and throw my phone again. and i just realized that when i threw my phone i still didnt close the picture so ive been scared to open it again bc i dont wanna see it

#this story actually omits the fact that the bug got in TWICE #i dont even know where it came from #i woke up this morning and it was buzzing around the living room #so i get it out. then a couple hours later im sitting on the couch and it suddenly just fucking appears right next to my head #and it was HUGE. like 2 inches long #and it FLEW #big spiders scare the shit out of me and they cant even fly. this motherfucker is terrorizing me #i got it out through the front door both times #and like 10 minutes after the second time i see it AGAIN. flying into the door trying to get back in #anyways ive now changed clothes and tied my hair back bc every time something brushes against my skin i think its the bug and i scream
