Yandere Platonic Twin Brother (a bit of yandere friend in love)
Warning: violence, blood, a broken nose, overprotective brother, a friend in love, a clueless reader but with strong character, This is PLATONIC and a little ROMANTIC but not with the brother.
(By the way, I was going to be inactive this month, but it's quite the opposite, why does inspiration come to me when I have so many things pending😰? I'm juggling the blog and school 💀)

Yandere Twin Brother who was already attached to you from the womb; when your parents went to their appointments with the OB they always saw him by your side even in an ultrasound (that your mother framed) it looks like you are holding his little hands.
Yandere Twin Brother who when he was born (just five minutes before you) cried at the top of his lungs and his cries only calmed down a little when you were born and he heard you cry.
Yandere Twin Brother who shared the same crib with you (although your parents bought one for each of you) when you were babies since he always cried if they separated him from you.
Yandere Twin Brother who comforted you when you cried on the first day at daycare because you missed your parents and you were scared; he hugged you rubbing your back with his little hand and promised you with his pinky that he would always take care of you.
"Don't cry sis! Everything will be okay, I'm with you. I promise I'll scold our parents for doing this to you! Please don't cry..."
Yandere Twin Brother who never let anyone bother you or get close to you at daycare; one day a boy pulled your pigtails making you cry and your upset brother pushed him to the ground and another boy approached your bully and bit him (two teachers had to make him let go)
Yandere Twin Brother who only had one exception to the rule and allowed him to get close to you; that exception was Jamie a boy his age who seemed enchanted with you and became friends with your brother after biting the boy who bothered you.
Yandere Twin Brother who from that day on basically spent all his time with you and Jamie; They were the three musketeers, as you grew up you became even closer (if that was possible) and Jamie's feelings for you became more obvious (to everyone but you) your brother liked to tease Jamie.
"Maybe my sister doesn't like you because of your idiotic face, she has good taste you know?"
"Oh shut up! I'm really handsome and she's just shy, plus we all know you're the ugly one of the group"
"EH?!—"
Yandere Twin Brother who like you and Jamie was quite popular at university; although he was surrounded by girls he never put them above you and always spent time with you; also he and Jamie were howling at your suitors constantly (much to your annoyance)
Yandere Twin Brother who got furious when he saw Jamie flirting with another girl and even kissed her, how could he do this to you?! (it's true that you don't even know that he loves you, but it's still wrong, okay..?) He approached angrily, when Jamie saw him she greeted him only to receive a strong punch in the face.
Yandere Twin Brother who started a fight with Jamie when he recovered from the shock of the blow, both began to punch and hit each other while yelling at each other, some students ran to separate them.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?! YOU THINK YOU CAN TELL ME YOU LOVE MY SISTER AND THE NEXT DAY BE WITH A BITCH?!"
"IT WAS JUST A THING! WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT IT?! SHE AND I ARE NOTHING YET!"
"YET?! YOU THINK YOU'LL HAVE SOMETHING WITH MY SISTER AFTER THIS?! I'M GOING TO FUCK KILL YOU!"
Yandere Twin Brother who tried to break free to hit him again but they both held him firmly; a teacher arrived and they were both taken to the infirmary, a smile slipped across your brother's bruised lip when the nurse said that Jamie's nose was broken.
Yandere Older Brother who looks at you embarrassed when you enter the infirmary with judging eyes asking you both what happened but you don't answer and you end up asking them if they fought over a girl and they both answer at the same time exalted.
"NO!"
"NO!!!"
Yandere Twin Brother who ends up making up a random excuse for why you two fought and Jamie nods his head agreeing with him; you on the other hand look at them unconvinced before sighing and rolling your eyes; after being treated you both are called to the dean's office and end up being suspended for two weeks.
Yandere Twin Brother who when you leave the office approaches you along with Jamie who tries to joke a little about the situation (to calm the waters with your brother) but your brother ignores him taking you by the arm and leading you towards the exit while Jamie follows them.
"Well, it's not so bad we can spend more time together, right?"
"Shut your mouth Jamie, don't talk to this idiot sister."
"Hey, wait for me, don't leave me!"

a/n: enjoy! <3 thanks for all the love given to the first part of this story! here's the second part. Third part is coming soon ~
---- previous | part three | next part >>>
"Seems like the night out helped then?"
Osamu can't hide his grin from the way you're flushing a deep red. It's so cute and adorable to see you this way, after months and months of just having the corpse of your soul wander around his coffee bar like you didn't know where else to go.
Now it seems, is a completely different story. You're glowing.
"How do you know that?" you almost splutter out your coffee as you gawk at your cousin from the other end of the bar.
Osamu proceeds to wipe down the counter. It's a Monday afternoon and it seems that the activity has slowed down somewhat, giving him a chance to catch up with you. He tries to stop the smile from spreading across his face as he answers, "how do you think I know?"
"Your brother can't keep his mouth shut now, can he?" you mutter into your coffee with a scowl.
Osamu laughs, "can you blame him? This is probably the first time since your breakup that you've even considered the possibility of going out and meeting new people. Let alone go through with it. You should be thanking him--"
"He takes too much credit for my happiness. He doesn't need more stroking to his ego."
"Point taken," Osamu can't argue with that. His brother is somewhat of an egocentric bastard. One with a kind heart and a nice smile nevertheless. But still a bastard. Done with the cleaning, he walks over to you as he leans atop the kitchen counter, "so? How was it then?"
"Fine."
Osamu's brow raises, "give me a bit more than that, y/n. I'm not stupid."
You pause, "it was..." the words feel weird swimming along your tongue, "...fun."
"Right?" your cousin breaks into a grin, "and how's the little chica doin'?"
"The little chica is a little too obsessed with her PE teacher."
"At least she likes him."
You hum, "point taken."
Talking to Osamu is a lot easier than his twin counterpart, solely because he isn't as dramatic and is rather subtle, able to control his emotions better and easier to have a conversation with actual sense without going off the rails every five minutes. It was refreshing, despite the fact that you didn't spend as much time as the grey-haired young man due to clashing schedules.
"So...this Kuroo guy..."
A groan can't help but fall from your lips as your head hits the counter, "Osamu, I'm twenty-nine. I don't need any boy talk--"
"Oh yes you do honey," he sing-songs and leans even closer, grey eyes sparkling. It's in these moments that he resembles Atsumu so much you wish to whack him one, "just because your father ain't here doesn't mean you get to do whatever you wa--"
"Enough." your hand shoots out, slapping onto Osamu's mouth.
He pulls away with a cackle, wiping his hands along his apron, "I'm serious though. Kuroo's a good guy, but if he ever does anything out of line--"
"Yeah yeah I got it."
"--I'll kick his balls so hard--"
"Osamu!"
"Okay okay," he chuckles and holds out his hands in surrender, and you glower at him from your seat.
It's bad enough that Atsumu has constantly been wheedling some answers out of you. Adding Osamu to the mix is not something you want on your agenda. Ever since that night, you have been exchanging messages with the said PE Coach despite the growing anxiety about where this will all lead to. But in-between organizing events for your job, baking cakes and debating on whether to sign those darned papers, it's been a welcome distraction.
Okay, maybe more than a welcome distraction.
It's been...amazing.
Something to look forward to. Someone that seemed to understand you, your sense of humor, who doesn't judge and makes you smile no matter what mood you might be in. And somehow, it's hard for your heart to just close off when Kuroo is so insistent on making it melt into a puddle of goo.
Like that one time you were late to pick up Sakura from athletics practice for instance, having been taken up with a client on the other side of the city centre only to have rushed through traffic like a madwoman, arriving when the courtyard was practically empty. Panicked and more than a little worried about Sakura's whereabouts, you had found her at the entrance of the gymnasium, playing footsie with none other than Kuroo.
"Oh," Kuroo noticed you first, golden eyes lighting up just as your daughter's head turned towards the source of curiosity, "Mum!"
She'd dashed over and you'd cradled her in your arms, your heart finally able to resume its normal beating now that you knew she was safe and sound.
You'd looked up at Kuroo then, with his ball tucked under one arm as he casually strode over to you. The words felt pathetic and useless as they tumbled out of your mouth, "I'm --thank you, for staying with her."
"It's no problem," he stopped before you, a smile dancing across the curve of his lips, "it's a good excuse to see you, I suppose."
You blinked at him, "huh?"
And then the words hit you like a truck.
Your face colored so fast even Sakura took note, tilting her head up at you as her eyebrows furrowed in concern, "mum are you okay? You're all red--"
"Oh I'm fine, just--you know, the heat--" you were glad for that excuse. Your entire chest area felt on fire, "I--uhm--It's nice to see you too, I guess--Kuroo-sensei."
It was just impossible to miss the sparkle in Kuroo's eyes and you swore you could feel the warmth from him, like a cozy blanket on a cold night wrapping around you. That was before you'd quickly excused yourself and practically bolted.
Another time you'd been late in dropping Sakura off, having slept in and barely being able to shove a few bits of toast down your throat in hopes of beating the morning traffic. Kuroo, it seemed, had been assigned to morning duty that time, and as you'd rushed through the gates with Sakura in tow, you quickly bowed to him before ushering Sakura to her class.
"Go now," you pressed a quick kiss to your daugher's forehead, "I'll see you after school okay?"
"Yes mum," and Sakura had sauntered away as you watched, breathless and chest heaving, a piece of hair stuck to your lip.
"Everything okay, Kosuke-san?"
When you turned to see Kuroo, hands in the pockets of his basketball shorts and looking all too fine with his PE jersey draped over his broad shoulders like a runaway model, your eyes flitted away with embarrassment.
"Yeah," you nodded, "morning traffic is terrible."
"I bet," Kuroo's eyes flitted down and you followed, only to make a small sound of embarrassment as you spotted two different pairs of sneakers on your feet, "someone woke up late today."
You really want to hide. Maybe duck your head in a whole. Maybe ignore him—
But you can’t, and so you can just shuffle awkwardly like a penguin, “I—was trying out a new style.”
Lame. But what else could you say?
Kuroo’s laugh bought warmth to your cheeks and before you knew it, his fingers had come up to untangle the hair stuck to your face. He pushed it back behind your ear.
“Suits you,” his voice drops to a murmur.
Every single cell in your body had exploded and you’d quickly fumbled for an excuse before rushing into your car as far away as you possibly could.
You tried your best to push him to the back of your mind, for there were a million other things to take care of. Like the divorce papers for example, which had been glaring at you from your coffee table ever since the mailman had deposited it right outside your doorstep.
You were all for signing it, but every time you mustered up the courage to, Atsumu’s words rang like an echo inside your head:
Don’t do it unless you’re getting something out of it.
It keeps eating away at you, the mixture of guilt and remorse. Not to forget the fact that you’ve been adamantly staying away every time you see Aoi’s name flashing across your screen. That all comes to an end one Friday evening when he rolls up in his car to pick up Sakura for the weekend.
Your daughter, unaware of what’s going on, is quick to stick her face to the window, “papa!”
Her shriek makes you wince. Once, this name had made your heart warm.
Now, it just hurts.
“Hey,” Aoi lets himself in with practiced ease and you turn away to stuff the remaining items in Sakura’s bag, all so that you can avoid watching the scene because it hurts a little too much.
“Papa, I’ve been playing a loooot of volleyball recently!” Sakura’s jumping around like an excited pup, “—and I even scored a point once!”
“You?” You hear Aoi chuckle and zip up Sakura’s bag a bit too harshly, “you barely have the height to reach the net!”
“It’s not the actual net Papa!” Sakura scowls then, “it’s a children’s net! Papa, you really need to come pick me up more often. You’ll understand what it looks like then!”
“Yeah you’re right Kura, maybe I should.”
Ache and longing seep through your chest. You couldn’t help not listening in when they were right in front of you, but you did your best in blocking out your ex-husband’s voice as you wrap up the last of her belongings just as Sakura’s voice belts out in surprise:
“Kuroo-sensei?!”
Huh? Your head whips up so fast that you feel the ache of it at the back of your neck. Sakura meanwhile, jumps up and down in barely restrained excitement while pointing at the window, “mum! Mum did you see?! Kuroo-sensei is here!” She turns to look at you, “Why is he here mum?”
Sure enough, the said young man stands at the doorstep, hands in his pockets and leaning against the threshold in a manner that has your heart racing.
You scramble to your feet at the same time that Aoi straightens and swivels towards the door.
Surprise flits through Kuroo’s eyes, lasting a millisecond before he’s grinning and extending a friendly hand, “hey,” he directs it towards your ex-husband, “I’m Kuroo, Sakura’s PE coach.”
“Nice to meet you,” Aoi gives his hand a deft shake and you want nothing more than to disappear, “I’m Sakura’s father.”
“Yes, I see the ressemblance,” Kuroo smiles wanly just as the said child bounds straight into his arms, “Kuroo-sensei! What are you doing here?”
You ignore the way Aoi is drilling holes into your skull. Now is definitely not the time for explanations.
What kind of explanations do you owe him anyway? It's not like he's asked for your permission before he went and played love island with some kind of bimbo you barely knew existed.
“Hey munchkin!” Kuroo sweeps her up and she shrieks in delight before settling her back down, “I’m here for your mum today.”
He is? Your eyes widen, finding his own golden irises in a silent question that Kuroo only responds with a bashful grin.
“Really? Where are you taking mum? Can I come along?” Sakura, as clueless as ever, bounces up and down in delight.
You’re quick to intervene, “Sakura, you’re spending the weekend with Papa remember? He’s been waiting all week to spend some time with you.”
“Yeah, don’t you want some time alone with your dad, kiddo?” Aoi spreads his arms, “come on! Didn’t you want to go to the zoo?!”
Sakura gasps at that, her eyes going round, “we’re going to the zoo?!” She all but squeaks.
You can’t resist smiling at her reactions, leaning down towards her before tucking her hair behind her ear, “that’s what you wanted wasn’t it?”
But her chubby hand grabs onto yours, “are you coming?”
The words pierce you and you take a small inhale. Your eyes find Aoi’s from across the room and though you know it’s not his fault, you know this isn’t something he did just on a whim, your eyes say everything you cannot: you did this to us.
Instead, you’re forced to smile down at her, smoothing one hand over the back of her head, “it’s just going to be you and papa today alright Sakura? And then I’ll see you when you get back tomorrow.”
Her face falls and something twists in your gut, “okay,” her voice is small when she answers.
But you have no choice but to let her go, watching as her father grabbed onto her hand and walked out of the door. You can’t look at Kuroo’s face, knowing that there’s probably pity written all across his features. Definitely not something that you’d want if the situation were reversed.
You’re surprised he still hasn’t high-tailed it back to his car up until now. But maybe he’s just being polite.
“I’m sorry,” is the first thing that makes its way out of your mouth when you finally gather up the courage to face him.
Your eyes stay glued on a spot along his shirt, glad for his tall height as you continue muttering out, “it’s just a bad time, I didn’t know you were coming—“
“Actually I’m the one that should be sorry.”
Your eyes flit up to his, the gentleness in his voice throwing you off guard and what you find in those golden pupils make your heart flutter slightly.
Kuroo just gazes down at you with a small smile, looking a little sheepish, “I realize I just barged in when I wasn’t really welcome.”
“No—no, no! Not at all!” You lift your arms in a sign of surrender, “I’m curious though… why did you? Come, I mean. Is there—“ you hesitate slightly, “—is there something you need?”
“Well,” his smile blossomed into a grin. Pressing against the countertop, he leans forward towards you, “I wasn’t kidding when I said that I came by to see you.”
His words cause a blush to spread across your cheeks, “don’t—say things like that,” you stammer out, “people will misunderstand.”
“Misunderstand what exactly?”
“What we are, our relationship,” you let out a breath and shake your head, “anyway, it doesn’t matter. So? What’d you come here for?”
“Like I said,” his eyes are golden glimmers, sparkling with mischief, “I came to see you.”
“Surely it’s not just that,” you splutter.
“More specifically I came to hang out,” he continues, “I heard there’s this new italian place that just opened up a few streets down. Since you seem free, would you like to accompany me?”
“I—uhm—“ the request is so sporadic it sends your brain into a fuzzy cloud, thoughts scattering and making no sense as you try and piece together a reason as to why you cannot make it out.
Your subconscious is begging you to go, practically kneeling on both knees and jumping up and down in excitement. Your brain though, the logical part, is pulling her hair out at the atrocity of it all.
“Fine,” is what you blurt out. Before you even realize what you’ve said. But when Kuroo gives you that million-watt smile you think that maybe it’s all kind of worth it.
———
“No way, he wouldn’t do that—“
“Oh no, he did.” Kuroo snorts into his drink. Leaning back against the parisian chair in which he’s seated as he splays his legs out before him, you fold one leg over the over, all too aware of how physically close he is. If you moved your leg any further you’re certain to brush against his knee.
A delicious, yet terrifying thought.
Kuroo chatters on with the story about Atsumu being kicked out of the boy’s dorm, “when the manager finally found him, they made him do two-hundred pushups and thirty laps around the training grounds. Was a pretty worthy sight, if you ask me.”
“That sounds exactly like what Atsumu would do,” you can’t help but roll your eyes. Trust your cousin to go through all that incessant stuff just because he’d opened his big mouth.
“How come I’ve never seen you around before?” Kuroo leans back in his seat, golden eyes scanning your face as if trying to piece together his memories of whether he’d seen you or not, “you’re related to them. You should’ve popped up sometime in the picture.”
“I—“ a lump fills the back of your throat and you press your lips together, look away, “we weren't close as we were growing up. They were so--so overwhelming and I was a shy kid. Until Sakura came into the picture."
Kuroo's eyes are warm. Warmer as he keeps on gazing at you with a softness, with the kind of gentleness that makes your heart ache. He's not supposed to look at you like that. Most people will clear their throat at this point in the conversation, or turn their head away.
But he doesn't. He just keeps his eyes on you at all costs. Like you're the most important thing in this room.
You're not sure how to feel about that.
"But when they heard I was pregnant, Atsumu and Osamu were there practically every day," a small smile flickers across your face at the memories that resurface, "they took care of me a lot, especially since my parents were so angry."
You let out a small chuckle, but it's definitely far from funny. It sounds hollow even in the bustling restaurant.
Kuroo leans forward so that his arms rest atop the table, muscles bunching and tensing as he does so. Gorgeous, you think to yourself as he says, "you were alone during your pregnancy?"
"Not actually alone," the smile you show now his bitter, "I had Aoi. At the time he was a really good husband. We got married quickly, just civil, because our parents didn't approve of us keeping the baby. It was quite a shock for them. And I had my two cousins to help me out whenever Aoi wasn't there."
"That must've been hard."
"It wasn't that bad," you take a sip of your water, glad for the distraction.
Kuroo shifts, his knee brushing yours. The warmth sizzles up your leg and a knot forms in your chest. God, you really can't take this.
Almost out of impulse, you find yourself blurting out, "Kuroo-sensei, can I ask you something?"
He tilts his head to the side, a sign for you to go on.
"Why--" the words get clogged up in your throat, "why are you being nice to me?"
The last few words are said in a whisper, for fear of what he will say in return. You hide your hands in your lap to stop them from shaking, but it seems your leg takes on a life of its own as it starts jiggling up and down.
"Kosuke-san."
And that's when Kuroo's hand rests atop your knee. Barely there. Yet searing hot.
Your breath hitches.
You blink at him, heart racing.
He cracks a small, comforting smile. The kind of smile that is crooked at the corners and makes his eyes crinkle up, "you're not scared of me, are you?"
"No," you mumble out, "just scared of your answer."
You shouldn't be so comfortable with him touching you like that. It's gentle, barely there, feather light. It should be scandalous. You should be technically ripping his hand off because in any other normal setting this would count as perverse.
And yet.
Yet, his touch ignites heat that sears right through the material of your jeans. Your heart flutters at his touch and your leg freezes in mid-shake, unsure of whether to continue when his gaze makes you feel a multitude of things, things that you're not sure are good considering what happened in the past.
When Kuroo answers next, you almost swoon right out of your chair. His voice dips into a murmur, one so raw and throaty it turns your insides to mush:
"Because I think you deserve some kindness."
"So," your forehead creases as you attempt to decipher his words, "do you pity me, then?"
“No, well—maybe a little, at first,” he catches himself, cheeks suddenly blazing full pink under your gaze, “obviously, it’s hard not to sympathize when I see a single mother doing her best for her daughter.”
“Surely I’m not the only single mother in that entire school.”
“No, but you’re different,” Kuroo’s eyes fill with warmth, “and also, not all parents are as kind as you are."
"That's not really--"
“You’d be surprised,” Kuroo cuts you off with a raised brow, “don’t be so naive, Kosuke-san. People aren’t as nice as you might make them out to be,” his eyes lock on yours, “but you are.”
You look away and swallow thickly, “yeah— I suppose.”
His hand is still on your knee. One part of you wants to move away. The rational part screaming that this shouldn’t be appropriate at all. Yet another bigger part of you is squealing in delight in hopes that he never takes it off.
You don't know which part of your brain you wish to turn off and trample on until it's just an afterthought in your subconscious.
Thankfully, the waiter approaches and Kuroo's hand drops away from your skin. He insists on paying the bill despite your best efforts and even goes as far as to drive you back home in his beat-up truck.
"Thank you," you mumble as you spot your front door, void of any activity now that Sakura's at her father's. It's always like this; lonely nights, with thoughts of what-ifs trickling through the back of your brain like a never-ending stream of water that gets muddied the more time passes. You understand and are happy that she at least has a father who wants to be in her life. That's the least you could've asked for from your ex-- well, soon to be ex-husband once you sign that darned paper -- but it's the thought of the other woman that makes you sick in the stomach. Jealousy churns like an ache that spreads and knots and tightens. What if Sakura likes her stepmom better? What if the other woman gives her everything she wants, everything she needs without batting a single eyelid?
You're so caught up in your own head that you barely hear Kuroo's murmur, until he's calling out your name from the driver's seat.
You quickly spin your head towards his, a guilty smile curving across your lips, "sorry, I got lost in my head for a second," you chuckle in hopes that it will dissipate the sudden tension filling the vehicle, glancing out of your apartment complex and glad that, for once, there's a bit of light flickering in the corridors.
"Thanks for bringing me home," you tell him.
"Pleasure is all mine," Kuroo replies. His eyes are on you though, as if reading right through you.
So you quickly try to dispel his worry by saying, "I'm just going to go up and rest. It's been quite a day and--"
"Do you--" he hesitates, purses his lips in thought, "do you want me to hang out for a while? Until you're sleepy and kick me out."
You're not too certain what to do except gawk at him. Which he takes as a cue that you might've twisted his words in the wrong way. For he quickly adds in a scramble of words, "Not--Not like you're inviting me over or anything. Just--I mean, as a friend. I just--I could keep you company."
His words echo in the silence and something in your heart swells at the kind gesture. Kuroo says that you're kind, but he clearly doesn't see how much effort he does for you. And here he is, sitting there looking bashful and embarrassed about asking to keep you company. Your heart melts a little and you agree, showing him the way to the guest parking.
Just as a friend, you try to tell your heart, just as a friend. And nothing else.
-----
If someone had asked you, a few weeks ago, whether Kuroo was a fine catch. You'd probably answer yes and move on with your day.
But now, your life seems so entwined with his that you're not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing.
After your little outing a few weeks ago where he'd decided to keep you company in the dark hours until the very early morning, you'd seemed to have crossed a bridge that you cannot back-pedal no matter how hard you try. If you close your eyes, you can still imagine the vivid picture of the two of you; first at the kitchen table sharing a glass of wine as you kept babbling about random stories and tales from your childhood, before you'd finally landed on the couch playing a crazy game of Mario kart, courtesy of Aoi's mistake of having forgotten his Switch when he'd first decided to move out.
You'd never had so much fun in so long that you'd almost cried yourself to sleep that night, right after Kuroo had stumbled out of your flat. He'd blatantly refused your couch as guest room, saying that staying over would just be more of a hassle when he had early classes the next morning.
But that doesn't stop him from seeing you when he can. Nor you him. And it's become something of an addiction.
He drops by every week now whenever Sakura's gone to her father's place. These nights are spent playing scrabble, watching reruns of Harry Potter like the nerds you are, and holding conversations that run longer than you'd expect them to. It seems like routine for Kuroo to clock out around one in the morning and every time he does walk away and disappear down the corridor, something in your heart clenches at his absence.
The flat does feel a little too lonely once Kuroo's gone. But you'd never tell him that small fact.
Today he's come around a little earlier than usual, due to a special meeting between teachers and parents that the school had organised. He's busy playing house with Sakura while you're preparing the pizza base for your night in, something that you hadn't done since--well, ever since Aoi had moved out actually. But now, you're even humming to imaginary music and glancing at the living room couch where Kuroo is currently giving a full-on review about Sakura's imaginary cooking skills.
Your heart swells tenfold and you swear the sight makes you cry. It's what you crave for, it's what Aoi had done for you once, for your family. Before he'd decided that you weren't good enough and had moved on to someone else.
"--perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I think I'mma gives this Mac and cheese a perfect ten out of ten," Kuroo was saying just as the front door rang.
You went to open it, wiping your hands down the front of your jeans before unlocking the door.
The sight of Aoi always made your heart sink and your stomach churn.
But not today. Today, your heart barely acknowledges him and you think it's good progress. You even go as far as give him a smile, "hey Aoi."
"Hi Y/N," he keeps glancing behind your back and you're pretty certain why; it's the sight of Kuroo with his daughter, probably, that unnerves him.
Your suspicions are proved right when he mutters, "what's he doing here again?"
It's low, like a grumble, so that only you can hear it in this vicinity.
You straighten, "he's my friend. He's spending the evening with me today."
"Like he's been doing every week?"
"Yes," you raise a brow, prop a hand on your hip, "is that a problem?"
"I have one problem, yes," Aoi scowls back, "why is he spending time with our daughter like he deserves it?"
"Why is that a problem? Do you not let--what's her name again? Josie? Jodie? -- do you not let her play and spend time with Sakura?"
"It's Judy, and she's going to be my wife, Sakura's stepmother," Aoi hisses and you can't help but flinch, "don't you think you're just making it harder for Sakura? It's been bad enough with the divorce and everything--"
What? You chuckle and that ignites into a laugh so hollow and void of emotion that Aoi flinches, "excuse me?" the nerve of this man. Your voice hardens, "I'm the one making it harder for Sakura? Tell me Aoi, who's the one who left?"
"I left because I was unhappy--"
"So was I!" you suddenly spit out, anger rising through you. You don't care that Kuroo can hear you now. Well, you should care that Sakura's witnessing one of the many fights you will have with her father. But you can't take it. Not all this belittling.
Not when you're finally feeling something other than this overwhelming grief that plagues you and breaks you into tiny pieces every time you look at that fucking darned document.
Your knuckles shake so hard you have to tighten them into fists that you glue to your sides.
You continue, "I was unhappy and guess why? It was all because of you! Because you always had something--you barely spent time with us after Sakura was born and--and we barely talked! You didn't want to talk. Heck, you made sure to steer clear of me whenever we were in the same darned house," your voice rose with each sentence, the clench in your stomach finally unleashed after restraining it, holding it in for Sakura's sake.
"But I endured. I endured it, because we had a daughter. We had a child, and goddamn it I was responsible enough to think of her first, and not myself," you snarl, for once glad that Aoi seems at loss for words, almost panicked, "and--what? You're lecturing me about making it hard for her? About being selfish?" you snicker and spread your arms wide, "look around Aoi. You know who's responsible for this mess, and it's definitely not me."
The silence that follows your little monologue is so heavy and laden with emotion that nobody dares break it. Even Sakura has stopped talking, though you don't know what's happening behind your back, wanting to keep your eyes on that fucking bastard and end this, once and for all.
When Aoi does nothing to answer -- because what's he going to say when you're right?-- you swivel, go to retrieve the signed divorce papers atop your kitchen table you've been dutifully ignoring until now, and storm back to him.
"And here," you thrust the papers at him so suddenly he shrieks as he grapples with the folder, "you can take your damned divorce papers. I don't need them, and I don't need you."
And before Aoi can say anything else, you've slammed the door in his face.
Bang.
Silence.
You can hear a pin drop.
You're heaving, chest rattling with every breath, gaze fixated on the door.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
It's the relief that sweeps in first, through the cracks of anger that slowly melt away.
And then, realisation that nothing will ever be the same.
Then, grief.
It hits you like a truck.
Everything you've worked for. Everything you had lost.
You're not sure when your body decides to crumple to the ground, just that there are warm arms to catch you this time before a soft baritone echoes through the side of your head, through your chest and making you want to cry.
Kuroo is talking, and somewhere in-between the lines of numbness and pain you make sense that he wants to take Sakura out for a bit, just enough time for you to recollect your thoughts. You're so lost in your own thoughts that he has to repeat a question twice for you to snap to attention.
"Do you want me to stay? Or do you want me to go? Up to you, anything that makes you happy."
Kuroo is babbling, but the fact that he even asks you for what you want, for once, makes your chest ache with terrible sweetness. You don't deserve him in any shape or form.
You nod, and Kuroo takes it as a good sign, for he prompts, "what do you want me to do Y/N?"
As if on impulse, his hand pushes stray hairs away from your face. The action is gentle, kind. Almost loving.
Almost.
"Take her out," you manage to mumble, "please, Kuroo. I--I don't want her to see me like this."
"Got it." And Kuroo's off, scooping up Sakura with a playful tone, distracting her from the mess that you are huddled over in the corner of the living room as he shoves his shoes on and strides out of the flat so that all is left is you, the echo of silence that remains, and the feelings lying in the pit of your stomach.
-----
It's some time later that you hear the lock twisting in the door. You've managed to pull yourself together by then, finishing up the pizzas so that they're warm and fresh out of the oven. Sakura's footsteps echo against the wooden floor as she runs over to you.
"Mum!"
You force a smile. It comes a little easier when you see your daughter so excited, "hello, you," you coo. She slams her entire body right into your mid-section and your arm wraps around her, "how was the walk with Kuroo-sensei?"
"We saw ducks! And--And Kuroo-sensei let me play on the swings. He even pushed me so that I went up high!" Sakura's chubby finger pointed towards the ceiling to show just how high it was, and you chuckled before hugging her close. Feeling the warmth of her small body against yours is something you'll never really get over. It's like she fits and moulds right into the crevices of your broken parts to make them whole again.
Your eyes travel over to the said young man in question who's been responsible for so much of her happiness, and you soften, "thank you," you mouth to him over the kitchen counter.
He shakes his head and sends you a smile. It melts your insides, warming your tummy and instantly causing your cheeks to flush bright red.
You look away with a sharp swallow, "I've made something that looks like dinner," you propose tentatively, "if you'd like to stay."
You don't look at him as he strides over, big steps closing the gap between the front door and the dining table. He shrugs off his coat in the process, "I'm always in for food."
It would be stupid of you to think that such a normal dinner routine might make Kuroo forget all about what happened a little earlier. But it's the way his eyes search your face when he thinks you're not looking, the way the concern swims in his entire demeanour, like he's not sure whether he can completely relax yet.
Part of you is more than horrified by this turn of events. You don't want Sakura's sports coach thinking you're an unsuitable parent, nor do you want him to know about your personal matters considering he's a bit too close to home. It's embarrassing and humiliating and every time you meet his eyes by accident across the table you make sure to look away as quickly as you can.
The other, more selfish part of you, though, is suddenly relishing in the warmth that Kuroo's presence brings to the flat. And you can't help but crave for more, despite knowing this is not what's best for you and your little girl.
After all, even if Kuroo did think of you that way -- which he doesn't by the way -- he'd be tied down with a liability that's too hard to bear when it's not your own child.
Cleaning up after dinnertime in silence, Kuroo volunteers to take charge so that you can put Sakura to bed. You send him an apologetic smile, quickly going through the bedtime motions with your daughter before you can tuck her into bed.
"Mum," Sakura's voice is merely above a whisper as she cuddles into her blanket. The sight is so cute, it makes your heart swell and you resist the urge to coo, "Are you okay Mum?"
You pause, hiss in a breath.
What are you supposed to tell her?
What exactly are you supposed to say?
You manage to choke out a soft, "I'm alright."
"Is Papa okay?"
"Yes," your heart breaks a little more. You barely manage to murmur, "yes he's okay sweetie. Just--It's been a hard time."
"Why Mum?"
You don't know what to say, so you opt for pushing her hair away from her face, "well, sometimes adults face difficult decisions. And those decisions ...they hurt us. Sometimes."
"Did Papa hurt you today?"
Tears well at the corner of your eyes but you refuse to sniff, refuse to show her that you're as battered and beaten as what your heart says.
"No sweetie, he didn't--he would never hurt me, or you. Because he's your Papa and he--he loves you very much."
"Does he really?"
"Yes," you wrap your arms around her in a hug, hoping that this will dissipate all her queries, all her suspicions of her father, "yes he does. He really does love you. A lot."
From the depths of your arms, you hear your daughter's soft echo of, "okay."
It takes more than just a few minutes for Sakura to doze off. But you tuck her in gently when she does, rearranging the blankets around her frame before slowly backing out of the room. You find Kuroo still at the kitchen sink with your supposed apron around his waist, and the sight of him -- so domestic, like he's been living here all along -- makes you want to cry all over again.
"She's asleep?" Kuroo's voice causes your shoulders to jump. You nod and walk over to where he stands, taking note of the amount of dishes left.
"Thank you," you gesture towards the squeaky clean plates hanging off to dry, "it's all good now, I'll take over--"
Kuroo throws you a look and tuts, "sit down. I'm gonna make us some tea."
"But--"
"Kosuke-san," the dip between his brows deepen, "go sit down."
It's non-arguable and you let out a soft sigh of defeat as you pad over to the couch, grumbling something incoherent under your breath. Does he have to be so perfect at everything? It's almost like living in a fairytale dream.
Or is he just being nice because he wants something out of you?
A shudder suddenly makes its way up your spine and you shake your head, ridding yourself of all negative thoughts. No, he won't do that, your brain chides, he's not like that.
He's not like Aoi.
"Here."
You look up to find none other than the said man settling down beside you, nudging a cup of what seems to be hot water into your hands.
"Sorry," he mumbles, "I couldn't quite find your tea. Your place is a bit like a labyrinth."
"Yeah that's what happens when you have a toddler," you grimace, "but thank you. I do appreciate--" you hesitate, a small smile flickering across your lips, "hot water."
Kuroo chuckles, "right? It was made with love."
You sip on your hot water as a comfortable silence settles over you, with only the hum of the fridge and distant cars from afar filling the room. The weight of all your troubles are finally getting to you, making your body sluggish as it succumbs to the comforts of your pillows.
"Kuroo sensei," you bite down onto your lower lip, before your eyes flutter up to his face to find that he's already been looking at you, "I--"
"It's Kuroo," he interrupts, "we're friends, right?"
You try to bite back your smile, "yeah. I suppose," your head dips back down to your lap, "I just--I wanted to say thank you. For everything. But...especially for today."
"Kosuke-san, I think it's fair enough to say that you were having a hard time," Kuroo answered, "I just did what I thought was right. And--also, not to be that person, but he didn't have to do it in front of his daughter."
"Yeah you're right," you sigh, "well, that's Aoi for you. Selfish, self-centred, always wants what's best for himself."
There's a moment for the words to digest in the air. You sip on your hot drink, not wanting to meet Kuroo's eyes for fear of what you'll find there.
If you had any doubts about Kuroo questioning his interest for you, that had to be long gone by now. Nobody in the world wanted someone who already had baggage, and a physical baggage that would forever be a reminder of your past.
The truth hurts. It punches you straight in the gut.
You suck in a sharp breath, loathing yourself for even thinking about it. For even entertaining the idea.
But then, Kuroo asks you a question. One that instantly breaks down your walls no matter how much you fight it.
"Are you alright?"
You can't help it.
You break.
It's as if all tears once bottled up are suddenly let loose. Pressing your hands up to your face to muffle your cries, you feel Kuroo's arms wound around you again, pulling you insistently to his chest despite your best tries at resisting. But he's warm and for once in your life you don't feel like fighting, which is how you find yourself sobbing into his shirt, hands gripping it tight like he might disappear at any given moment.
All that time, Kuroo merely lets you cry, one hand smoothing over the back of your head while he presses his cheek against your temple.
"Shh," he keeps murmuring into the shell of your ear, "it's okay. It's going to be okay."
Some time later finds you in his arms, practically cuddled up to his chest and your cries reduced to mere sniffles. Kuroo has leaned back onto the couch so that you're resting against him, soft curves pressed to his firm ridges and hands absentmindedly running through your hair in a way that makes your eyes flutter with the heaviness of sleep.
It's comfortable. Too comfortable you might just fall asleep here.
Kuroo dares to peek at your face, noticing that you're staring off into space.
Your phone suddenly buzzes from your pocket, startling you out of whatever daydream you'd concocted. Quickly fishing it out of your pant pocket, you unlock the screen only to find Atsumu's message.
Atsumu: I suppose you're with Mr. Hotshot? Any chance of getting laid tonight? ;)
Your face colours right when you feel Kuroo's chest vibrate with a laugh.
You quickly whip the phone away from his view, "y--you're not supposed to read other people's texts!"
Your heart is practically cartwheeling at this point and you swear you feel sweat dot your hairline as Kuroo throws his head back with even more laughter.
You scowl at him, "what's so funny?!"
"Nothing, oh--god, nothing at all," he can't seem to control himself, shaking his head with a grin so wide it makes the sight adorable for some unknown godforsaken reason. He runs a hand over his face, trying and failing to calm down, "I just--oh man Atsumu. Do tell me more."
"Like I said, it's rude to read other people's texts," you snap.
"Oh I'm sorry, you opened it in front of my face though," Kuroo's grin is so wide that it frustrates you to no end. But before you can shove him away, his hold tightens as he pins you closer.
Your eyes widen, fluttering up to meet his golden brown pupils in surprise. He's warm, and firm, and just about as delicious as you had imagined. It makes your stomach knot, makes you slightly dizzy as you get a whiff of his deodorant--something musky, something that smells just like him.
When he speaks next, his voice has dropped two octaves.
"So how long were you going to keep it a secret from me?"
His murmur sends a chill up your spine. Your hands, not knowing what should be done with them, curl along his shirt.
Your eyes find a blank spot in the middle of his chest, "it's...not a secret. It's just a--a joke. Of some sort."
"A joke?" his smirk widens, "well share it with me too."
"It's none of your business."
"Pretty sure you made it my business by opening it in front of me."
Oh god. You can't even stop your heart from beating so loudly it's like a hummingbird. You're pretty certain Kuroo can hear it. "I--uhm--"
Your brain tries to scramble for words. But it's impossible. Not when he's so close. Definitely not when he's looking at you like that. With those eyes.
"Something tells me you've been holding out on me."
"Not at all."
You're still very adamant on averting your eyes. But his hand finds your chin, tilting it up until you have no choice but to look straight into those beautiful swirls of golden shimmering with amusement and what seems to be -- tenderness? Affection?
"Tell me," his murmur is raw, throaty. Like warm, melted chocolate.
You take a soft breath. Your chest constricts. It's impossible to breathe.
"Atsumu," you start in a shaky whisper, "he thinks--" you swallow, "he thinks that we might have... a--a thing."
"A thing?" his arm laced around your middle tightens slightly, "what makes him think we might have a thing?"
"Well I don't know, I--' god, is this supposed to be this hard? To admit that you have a small crush? You suck in air in-between your teeth as you bite the inside of your cheek, turn your head away, "I guess I talk a lot about you."
He hums in reply, "I like the sound of that."
And with another tug at your chin your eyes have no choice but to lock on his. There's a softness there in those beautiful pupils flecked with long, drawn out eyelashes.
""The sound of what?" you blink.
"Us having a thing," Kuroo's hand seems to find it fun to caress up and down your hipbone. His touch is searingly warm against your skin, "you talking about me, you blushing because of it."
"Well don't be so full of yourself," You huff out, "you're a good friend, and I'm grateful--"
"Y/N."
Woah.
You've never imagined the sound of your name falling from his lips. But here it is, laced with some kind of attentiveness, with some sort of affection that makes you weak at the knees and causes warmth to drip to your lower belly.
Your lips part. But you find you can't seem to formulate words. He continues, "I like you, not just as a friend. I think you're brave, incredibly kind, smart--"
"What are you doing?"
"Huh?" Kuroo frowns, "I--What does it look like I'm doing?"
"I don't know," you're starting to panic, pulling away slightly in the process, "that's what I'm asking you."
"Well I--" a small chuckle echoes past his lips, "I guess what I'm trying to do is ask you out."
"Oh." the words take a few seconds to register in your brain.
Oh.
"Oh." you repeat like an idiot. Oh shit.
He's actually serious.
Oh shit.
Oh fuck.
"Uhm--" your throat has suddenly gone so dry that nothing seems to come out of It no matter how hard you try.
Kuroo just lets out a small laugh before his hand goes up to push a few stray hairs out of your face, "cat got your tongue?"
"Kuroo-sens--I mean, Kuroo--" you try to stutter out through the butterflies rippling through your chest at his gentle action, "It's not that simple, I--I have a daughter. It's a responsibility. A liability. And I'm no casual dater, I'm more of a long-term relationship type of girl."
"And?"
"And there's absolutely no reason for you to like me other than as a friend, because I have baggage. I'm not a single woman, I'm on the brink of a divorce and I have a four--almost five year old -- always running around," you realise you're babbling but it's impossible not to, especially not with him looking at you like that, "trust me, that's probably the last thing you want--"
"When I say I like you," Kuroo murmurs, "I mean all of you. And that includes Sakura."
"You don't mean that, until you actually experience--"
"I do mean it."
You shake your head, "Kuroo I--"
"Can I just take you out?" There's a slight note of desperation in his tone. In a smooth motion, the hand twined around your waist slips up to your hand, thumb drawing soft circles over your wrists as his eyes pin you down with an intensity that makes you want to squirm, "just one date. That's all I ask."
Your immediate response is no. Because why would you? You're literally just getting out of a relationship. The last thing that you want is another of these holes that you'll take months to recover from. And what if Kuroo decides you're not what he wants after all? He's younger than you, dashingly handsome, and can get whoever he wants in this entire world.
So why you?
But as soon as you open your mouth to tell him no, your thoughts fly back to this afternoon; the way he'd cared for Sakura when you were having a mental breakdown, the way he'd cradled you in his arms like you were fragile porcelain, the way he hadn't hesitated the moment you'd asked for help.
Even back then, Aoi hadn't taken charge this way. Aoi hadn't even bothered. And so you'd gotten used to not asking. To do things all by yourself.
Looking back into those golden-hued eyes makes you hopeful. And that's the worst thing that can happen to you, hope. But still, it's impossible to say no when Kuroo's gazing down at you so fondly. Like you're the only thing holding his world together. like he'd do anything to be with you.
So you say yes.

Part 6 Logan Howlett x fem!reader Series masterlist
Tumblr media
You don't see Logan for days. No one does. He disappears and no one even knows if he's going to come back.
But life goes on and the others have a mission to take care of. You…Well, you're in no state to go on a mission, so you stay back to take care of the kids.
That's why you're extra alert. And it's why, in the middle of the night, you manage to hear the back door open all the way from your room.
You pause. Your mutation is more for espionage, for interrogations, it's not really useful in combat. What's the point? Not like knowing people's thoughts in a fight is going to do much good.
Still, you've been trained for combat, to make sure you can protect yourself when need be.
So you walk downstairs, in your pajamas, a switchblade in your hand.
You hear something in the kitchen and you carefully stalk over, heart racing, breathing heavy.
It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be alright, you try to assure yourself.
As you're about to lunge, a voice says, “You're always too loud, never did learn to calm your heartbeat. I heard you a mile away.”
You frown. “Lo?” you whisper. You walk out from behind the wall and peek into the kitchen. There he is, standing in front of the counter with a can of beer. He looks like hell. His beard is longer and messy, his hair is tangled, and his eyes are…empty.
You feel sorry for him, but you also feel hurt and betrayed. The way he treated you last time…
You cross your arms. “What's wrong with you? You can't just fucking walk in here whenever you damn well feel like it. You nearly gave me a heart attack.”
“Where are the others?” he asks, taking a sip from his beer.
“Working,” you reply, tucking the switchblade away.
His eyes follow the movement. “Lotta good that would've done you,” he says sarcastically.
You glare at him. “Where the fuck even were you? You've been gone for, like, a week.”
“I just…needed to clear my head,” he replies. But his thoughts say otherwise.
Drinking, being with other women, running away.
You sigh thickly and cross your arms. “I see.”
“No, bub, look—”
“Don't you bub me! You think you can just treat me like that? Fuck me and disappear without a word? You didn't even leave me a fucking note!” you snap at him.
He shakes his head. “No, listen to me—”
You laugh bitterly. “There's nothing to listen to, Logan, because there's nothing you can say to make this better. I don't need any more of your bullshit. I'm done.”
This seems to finally break his shell of nonchalance. He frowns, eyes widening a little. “What?”
“I'm done,” you repeat, holding his gaze. “Fucking done.”
Logan opens his mouth to reply, but a little voice says, “Is everything okay?”
You turn around. One of the younger kids is standing there, looking at the two of you, his eyes concerned.
“Oh, honey. Everything is alright, it's just that Logan is out of bed when he's not supposed to, and he got in trouble,” you explain, putting a hand on the little boy's head. “C'mon, you go on back to bed too, yeah? I'll tuck you in.”
The little boy nods, looking between you and Logan with uncertainty, but he lets you turn him around and lead him away.
As you're about to leave the kitchen, you give Logan one last look.
And he understands the look. You're not angry, you're not disgusted, you're heartbroken.
He can't believe himself. He...he broke your heart.

—my all time favourite bts fics (pt. 2) ᯓᡣ𐭩
consists of my personal favourite bts fics that I've read countless of times. including those from other platforms, such as Wattpad, AO3, and Patreon.
For some works that are cross-posted between tumblr and wp/ao3, I'd only link them to the latters bcs I find it easier to read and navigate the stories on those. but I also tagged all the authors I know are here and linked the rest so you can check their blogs out yourself!
I'll also separate this list into several parts simply because there's too many... So it'd be easier for you guys to navigate!
red means unfinished
blue means finished

You are a theater actress who dreams of becoming a successful Broadway star. You’ve dedicated your whole life hustling for the show, surrounded by a supportive family and friends you never thought you would lose your best friend and boyfriend on the same day. This puts your dreams to a halt, and you decide to take a break and a soul-searching trip to Korea, where you meet a successful artist that reconnects your love for the arts. OR You accidentally meet Kim Namjoon of BTS, and you had no idea of how an amazing person he is nor how he is the leader of the biggest boyband to date!

Escapade by bonnehh_
"Where the hell am I?!" He shrieked, stumbling over his feet like a newborn deer. He was a panicking mess, spinning around in circles to see the unfamiliar sight of giant trees and bushy plants covering the land. The forest was heavily rich with greenery, vegetation and strange fruits. Fallen leaves covered the ground, creating a crunching sound after every step he took. "Calm down, Sweets." I calmly voiced amidst his loud screeches. My words cut through his mess of a mind making him freeze on his spot. Turning on his heel, he noticed me. He stumbled back immediately, possibly because I was covered in angry, red scratches and the bandages covering my arms alerted the male. "What the fudge?!!?! Who- who are you??" He shouted, alarmed by my…seemingly beaten-up figure. "I'm Diana. Welcome to the game." I smiled softly. Hoping my excitement can keep a hold of itself for the sake of keeping the man from getting scared. Dumbfounded, He could only let one word out, "Huh?". Oh boy.
🗯️ a cool one! many adventures and mc has freakishly good survival skills. this honestly cured my longing for that one fic that's no more that was also survival, adventure and game themed with slight crack. I think it was called 'Ready Player One'? (not that famous book and movie). but I think it was a translated ver of a chinese ff on another platform. Idk I still missed it very much, it was also very good. (If you know anything abt this, pls dm me!)

Through a series of curious happenstances, the Boys of Bangtan - your campus' most popular and most handsome group of individuals - set their sights on you, a regular student with a stubborn streak and a wayward mouth. Strangely enough, the mere sight of them sets your instincts off, red-lights flashing in your brain - danger, danger, danger, danger. It's too bad that they can't seem to leave you alone, though. "I… I might know someone who has a spare room," your brother finally muttered hesitantly. You perked up from where the couch had been swallowing you. "What! And you didn't tell me?" You accused. "You'd be living with a bunch of dudes." "Oh my god Jackson," you groaned, rolling your eyes. "The fact that you're even suggesting them means that you know them all and they're good people, right? It's not like they're gonna murder me and hide my body in the walls or something." "Well, yeah, but…" "But WHAT?" you almost screamed in frustration. "They're all… hot." Silence for several moments. Then you started guffawing uncontrollably, unladylike snorts escaping from your lips. "You are such a dork," you gasped between laughs, tears coming to your eyes. "If I promise not to let them gangbang me, will you please ask?"

With the small hybrid pack now living with Y/N, her life never has a dull moment. As Y/N gets used to her new family, she also begins learning more about old friends, making new ones, and getting a very full house.

Getting Back Into The Swing of Things by @jellifysh
Hearing her voice now, Namjoon was reminded of the times when she was all he had. How she was his everything, supported him with everything she had, even if it meant giving him the shirt off her back. "Joon?" Y/n sniffled. "I know it sounds crazy, you don't even have to, its been years," "No," Namjoon was agreeing before he could even think, before he could even remember the other people who lived in the house just the next room over. "No, its okay, I mean, we promised each other right? We'd never turn our backs on each other?" "You can stay with us, it'll be fine I promise, I'll handle everything, don't worry at all, it'll be great! Like, old times, okay?" Namjoon was tripping over his words now, he just felt like if he didn't see her now, he would be too late for… something. What, he wasn't sure, but there was an urgent need to have her home safe.

The question hangs between you, and you’re desperate to ask it. Usually, you don’t mind much who is on the other end of the appointment, as you’re so focused on a list of kinks, trying to map out a scene in your head, but this time, the ‘who’ is all you can focus on. Your boss looks at you. “I can’t believe I’m about to say this but… do you know BTS?” Your head snaps up in shock. “You’re fucking with me,” you gasp. “I’m dead serious,” your boss replies. “Jeon Jungkook just came of age. He wants to lose it right away.”

❶ Hidden Marks
What does it mean to be soulmates? What do I love about her? What is the reason? Does there need to be a rational reason to love someone? Maybe I love her amber eyes, or the way she tries to hide her smile whenever we get into playful arguments, or her love for just living. Maybe I just love her because she is simply just Han Sera.
🗯️ This one's so angsty yet so good, the writing's also so good at making the characters so human that I'd always end up sobbing at every re-read.
❷ Connecting Hearts
What defines a soulmate? Is it the mark that you were born with, only shared with a selected few? Or a bond which was created through pain and suffering? You'll have to read to find out.

I almost didn't believe it myself, but the more I thought about it, the crazier it sounded. So I came here to see you and to know if you can see me!" she blurted out. He could not believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. "Look, you don't need to lie to me. There is no need to make up some crazy excuse to meet someone." "I'm not lying! I really am invisible," she argued back. The man just threw his hands up to concede and turned to walk away from her again, walking right out of the building. The girl followed in hot pursuit. Jungkook is the perfect alpha, a little too perfect. Being the youngest in Bangtan, a group full of alpha's, friction has been happening between him and the boys. He's too strong, too dominating, too wild, and too much for Bangtan to handle. The perfect solution? An omega just for himself. You happen to be the perfect candidate. It's Monday morning. Jisung sat at the back of his music production class. He spun his pen in his hand, reading over the notes he had taken during class last week, waiting for today's class to start. He chewed on his lower lip, a habit he knows he needs to break, but can't seem to. His two lip rings tap his teeth as he bites the flesh.
He looks up from his notes, his dark eyelined eyes scan the classroom, looking over the slowly filling class. He sat in the very back row alone. He didn't have many friends outside his boyfriend's frat brothers. They welcomed him with open arms and considered them family, but aside from them, he doesn't really talk to anyone. Most of his class sat in the lower seats, closer to the teacher, a few others scattered through the rows of seats. The professor used to be in a famous rock band, and the students found him hot. Which Jisung couldn't argue, but he wasn't a simp for his teachers.
His eyes flicked to the windows, looking out at the red and orange leaves that litter the trees. He sighs softly and looks back at his notes. The first week of the new semester always sucked. It's his second year of classes, and he's already ready for it to end. He's still reading through his notes when he hears a soft voice next to him.
"Hi, I'm sorry to bother you."
He turns his head to the voice. Looking at the person who was standing next to where he sat, his breath caught in his throat, making him lose his breath. He sees a pretty looking girl, looking to be about his height, with bright eyes that looked ready to learn. She had a pair of dark grey jean short shorts on, a black tank top, and a light sheer black kimono cardigan on top.
"I was wondering if it was ok to sit here? I don't usually like sitting up front. But it's ok if you don't want me to." You smile softly. He swallows his spit, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. He nods a little as he watches you with wide eyes. "Thank you." You set your bag on the table as you sit down. There was a seat between the two of you.
"Is there anything important I missed last week? They changed the classes I needed for my degree, so I missed a whole week of this class." You say as you pull out your notebook and pen, setting them on the desk.
"Oh, um. Not really. Just uh..just an introduction to the class and some small notes." He says, looking back at his notebook. "I can make a copy of my notes for you? My boyfriend has a copier at his frat house." He offers. You look at him with another soft smile.
"I'd appreciate that, thank you." You turn back to face the class as the professor walks in, calling attention to the class. Jisung pulls his hood up over his head. You diligently take notes as your professor talks, not noticing the looks the boy next to you passes your way. Jisung bites his lip again, the metal of his lip rings clinking against his teeth again.
Class ends, and you start to pack up your things, Jisung doing the same. As you stand up, you turn towards him.
"My name is Y/n, by the way. It's nice to meet you." You hold your hand out to him. He stares up at you for a moment before reaching out to grasp your hand. You notice his nails were all painted black, and he had a few silver rings on his fingers.
"I'm Jisung. It's nice to meet you too." He lets go of your hand and stands up.
"Do you mind if I sit here next class? You're the only person I know here." You say shyly.
"I don't mind. I can't really tell you no, either." He shrugs a little. You smile at him again.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow when we have class." You wave before you leave, rushing off to your next class. He watches you walk away, how your hips sway as you do. How your jean short shorts hug your hips and ass perfectly. He sighs quietly when you step through the door. He grabs his bag and heads off to his next class.
He couldn't concentrate during class. He kept doodling in his notebook, mind going back to you. Doodling absent-mindedly, he notices that one of the doodles resembles you. He bites his tongue a little, the bar in the muscle hitting the roof of his mouth. He groans a little, flipping the page of his notebook, he tries to concentrate on the class.
When the end of his classes rolls around, he heads over to where the college football field is. He climbs the bleachers and sits, watching the team practice. He smiles when he sees his boyfriend catch the ball. He can't believe he's dating the quarterback. Jisung looks to his left when he hears footsteps on the metal walkway beside him.
"Hi, Felix. What's up? Come to watch Minho play?" He smiles at his friend.
"Maybe." He chuckles. "You come to watch Chan?"
"You know it. He's got the best ass on the team, and you know I love a man in uniform." He fans his face, pretending to swoon. Both the boys laugh as Felix sits next to him. They're both silent for a little as they watch the team.
"The house wants to throw a party next month. To start off the new semester, ya know?" Jisung nods.
"I remember they did one last semester. They had a lot more parties from what I remember, though." He chuckles. "Not that I was downstairs often, though." He wiggles his eyebrows at Felix. The freckled boy playfully shoves Jisung's shoulder as he laughs.
"No, I get it. Minho pulled me away a few times throughout the parties." He smiles as he looks down at the field. He sees Minho drinking some water and sends him a small wave. Minho waves back, sending him a heart with his fingers as the water bottle was still at his lips. Chan walks over and slaps Minho's ass before he waves up to Jisung, blowing him a kiss right after. Jisung smiles and blows a kiss back.
Once practice is done, Jisung and Felix walk off the bleachers and down to where the guys leave. They greet Changbin when he steps out, Minho and Chan following behind. Minho drapes his arm around Felix's shoulder, the younger wrapping his around the older's waist. Chan gently grabs Jisung's hand, intertwining their fingers.
"Hi, Ji, baby." He leans down to peck Jisung's lips, smiling when Jisung chases his lips. "After I shower, baby. I'm sweaty and gross."
"I like it when you're sweaty, though." Jisung teases.
"Yeah, after I rail you." Chan laughs. "I'm a gross sweaty right now."
"Well, fuck me in the shower then. Two birds." Jisung shrugs, teasing his boyfriend. Chan laughs and kisses the males temple.
"Let's get back to the frat house." The two couples and Changbin all walk to the frat house, Chan and Jisung immediately going up to Chan's room. Jisung drops his bag on Chan's desk, taking off his jacket and drapes it over the back of the desk chair. Chan steps up behind Jisung and wraps his arm around his lithe waist, planting wet, open mouthed kisses along the honey skin of his neck.
"Thought you wanted to shower?" Jisung tilts his head, eyes closing.
"Mm. I do, but I'm needy." Chan nips Jisung's neck, hand slipping to the front of Jisung's pants. "Grab some clothes to change into and you're gonna shower with me." He lets his hand brush over the zipper of Jisung's distressed black jeans, teasing him. Chan places one more kiss to his neck before pulling away, patting Jisung's ass. He grins and winks when Jisung turns around to pout. Grabbing clean clothes and his shower supplies, he goes to the shower on that floor, Jisung following behind.
Chan starts the shower, letting the water warm up. Jisung sets the clothes he's borrowing from Chan on the bathroom counter. Without turning from the counter, he starts to pull his shirt off, revealing his bare back, a few tattoos were revealed across his upper arms, his chest and ribs. Chan watches his boyfriend, eyes trailing the expanse of his back down his lithe waist.
"How did I get so lucky to have such a hot boyfriend?" Chan asks, leaning against the bathroom wall. Jisung looks at him through the mirror.
"Mmm..from what I remember," Jisung starts, "you pestered me for an entire semester, found my socials and pestered me throughout break, and then into the next semester until I agreed to go on a date with you." The younger male says, a soft smile on his face. Chan smirks and pushes himself off the wall to walk to Jisung, standing behind him, he places his hands on his boyfriend's waist.
"And I'm glad I did. I'm persistent. You're the best thing that's happened to me, Ji." He kisses Jisung's blue hair.
"I still don't understand why the star football player that all the college's wanted, would go out with someone like me. The 'weird goth kid' and not one of the 'popular' cheerleaders." Jisung leans back against Chan.
"Cause I don't care for the preppy attitudes they have. They usually just want to date football players for status, and I'm not about that. I like your personality, how cute you looked and how I could get you to smile with the simplest things. Plus.." he kisses Jisung's head again. "I'm 100% positive you give better head than they do." He laughs when Jisung quirks a brow at him in the mirror. "Now.." he presses against Jisung's ass lightly. "Get naked so we can shower, yeah?" He chuckles and lets him go when Jisung straightens up.
Jisung laughs and shakes his head. Chan strips behind him, dropping his laundry on the floor to pick up later with Jisung dropping his laundry on top of Chan's. Checking the water, making sure it's not too hot, Chan steps in and groans as his muscles start to relax. Jisung steps in with him, standing against the wall of the shower cubicle. Chan smiles at him, letting his eyes wander over his boyfriend's body.
"I'm still so glad you got this done. It's one of my favorite piercings.." Chan mutters as he reaches out, gently grazing Jisung's soft member, touching one of the metal balls that sit atop his skin. Jisung groans softly, his length twitching as the simple touch makes him start to harden. "Sensitive today, Ji?" Chan chuckles when Jisung whines a little. He pulls Jisung over to him gently, the younger wrapping his arms loosely around Chan's neck, the warm water splashing against Chan's back and Jisung's arms.
"Just for you." Jisung smiles as Chan leans down to slot his lips against his. Jisung slips his tongue into Chan's mouth, the older groaning as his and Jisung's pierced tongue dance. Chan's cock starts getting hard, pressing against Jisung's lower stomach.
"Want to top, or you want me to fuck you silly again?" Chan mumbles into Jisung's mouth.
"Just fuck me already, Chan." Jisung laughs softly. Chan reaches down and gently grips Jisung's ass, squeezing a few times. He crouches down and lifts him up, having Jisung wrap his legs around his waist. The blue haired boy reaches behind and under himself, carefully guiding Chan's leaking cock to his entrance. Carefully, Chan pushes his length into Jisung, the younger groans out at the stretch, arching his back a bit. Chan leans down and kisses Jisung's tattooed pecs.
"Let me know if you need me to stop, baby boy." Jisung just nods as he takes Chan's length, laying his head on Chan's shoulder. When Chan bottoms out, he holds the male close, letting him get used to the stretch as neither prepped Jisung this time. "You're doing great, baby. Taking me so well."
"I always take you well.." He mumbles into Chan's lightly tanned skin, earning a snicker from him.
"Do you not like it when I praise you?" Chan asks as he slowly starts to fuck up into his boyfriend, earning soft moans and groans.
"You better not stop praising me." Jisung says as he lifts his head, placing a kiss on Chan's jaw.
"Wouldn't dream of it, love." He grunts softly as he continues to fuck into Jisung. Chan takes a step forward, pressing Jisung's back against the shower wall, the younger leans back to look down at the older. "I noticed my hickies faded. I need to freshen those up…" Chan chuckles, leaning close to Jisung's neck, he starts placing soft gentle kisses before latching onto his skin. He ends up littering Jisung's neck, shoulders and some spots of his chest in hickies of varying sizes. Jisung manages to leave a few of his own on Chan's neck and broad shoulders.
Chan shifts Jisung a little bit in his hold, now fucking up into him at a slightly different angle. Jisung arches his back and moans Chan's name out. Chan smirks, knowing he found Jisung's spot. He keeps fucking up into him, making Jisung cum between them, his cum landing on their stomachs and chests.
"Mm..my messy, messy boy." He kisses Jisung deeply, shoving his tongue into his mouth as he thrusts deeply and cums. They both groan into the kiss, Jisung gripping Chan's shoulders. Once they're both down from their highs, Chan carefully pulls out and sets Jisung down, the younger leaning against the wall. "Let's get you cleaned up, and see if Minho made anything for dinner, hm?"
Chan cleans them both up, taking extra care to clean Jisung up. Stepping out, he dries Jisung off before drying himself. His dark curls fluffing up as they dry. They dress and head downstairs, Jisung donned in a black tank top and a pair of grey sweatpants. Chan in a black tanktop and shorts.
They find both Minho and Felix in the frat kitchen, Minho standing in front of the oven, Felix sitting up on the counter nearby. Felix was shirtless, his own skin littered in bites from Minho. Minho has one peeking out from under his collar. Chan sits at the table, pulling Jisung into his lap by the waist. Chan lays his head on Jisung's back, looking over towards his frat brothers.
"What's for dinner, Min?" Chan asks.
"Pasta bake. Felix wanted it, so." He shrugs, turning the timer off on the stove before it beeps. He opens the oven and grabs oven mitts before pulling the food out. He sets it on the stove top and shuts the oven door. "Can you go grab the rest of the idiots, Lix?" He asks the blonde softly, giving the boy a kiss on his freckled cheeks. He smiles and nods, getting up off the counter, he pads out of the kitchen.
"I've never seen you so soft, Min." Chan chuckles. Minho playfully glares at him as he grabs plates out of the cupboard.
After dinner, Chan and Jisung are back in Chan's room, Chan sitting up against his pillows with Jisung laying between his legs, back against him. Jisung was going through his notes for class, forgetting about the doodles he had. Chan looks at the notes that Jisung had written down. Looking at the doodles, he sees the one that Jisung drew of you. Chan has an inkling he's seen someone like this before.
"Ooh, who's this, Ji?" Chan reaches over and points at the doodle. Jisung's cheeks turn a light pink.
"I forgot about this..she's someone I met in class today. Her name was…Y/n? I think?"
"Were you thinking of asking her? Cause you don't just draw random people, babe. You usually draw all these intricate designs." Chan places his hand on Jisung's shoulder. Jisung shrugs a little.
"I don't know. I just met her today, and I don't know how she'd feel about it." Jisung shuts the notebook and lays his head back on Chan's chest.
"Just think about it, baby boy. I'm in no rush." His hand snakes down to Jisung's chest. He kisses his boyfriend's head. "If you're ready for bed, strip and get back in bed. It's getting late." He smiles.
Once comfortable, Jisung lays against Chan, his head on Chan's chest with Chan's arms wrapped tightly around him.

Raf's bday event got me thinking about baby Coral
I'm a lurker and don't really have a blog but since the trailer dropped I got this idea and i can't get it out of my head. It's a bit long but I just want to share it with someone and you're one of my favorite writers in the fandom and I love baby Coral.
I hope It's ok 🥺👉👈
That one anon who said hlRaf would have a lot of separation anxiety and being on the verge of panic attacks because he was terrified of losing his baby, his family---
So maybe one night, when baby Coral is around 6 months old, he starts getting sick. High fever, no apetite, and he eats quite a lot so when he rejects being in MC's arms to be breastfed, it guts her like a knife but she's diligent and figures maybe he wants his dad. So she pumps her milk so Raf can bottle feed Coral, but he refuses that too. The young parents are trying to keep it together, the doctor said it could be the flu or colic, and made a list of everything they could try to calm the baby while he heals.
And they try but what gets them to almost crash out completely is the way their baby is wailing--it's so different from his usual cries. Baby Coral's face red from crying so much, he's so restless.
And MC is hanging by a thread, she's been running on no sleep and no food, no matter how much Raf begs her to eat, to get some sleep while he tends to their baby but she refuses every time. Seeing her precious baby in so much distress is making her ill, she can't eat anything, and she's scared of falling asleep when her baby needs her.
But as she holds her little boy in her arms, she literally runs out of energy. Raf watches as she leans forward, her hair covers her face, her eyes closed. Raf moves quietly, slowly takes their baby in his arms even though her grip on the baby is very strong.
With baby Coral in his arms who has tired himself out from all the wailing. He's not asleep, just staring at his dad with a scared and confused expression. Raf tries so hard to maintain his composture, he can't scare his baby by breaking down, so with all the love and care in the world, he slowly pushes MC further into the couch and covers her with the blanket that was draped over it earlier.
I know this is too long already so i'll cut to the part where the baby starts crying again, Raf is moving around the house trying to soothe his baby and hoping MC won't wake up to his cries. That's why he decides to go outside, take a walk along the beach to make sure MC gets her rest.
He walks with his baby, humming lullabies, nuzzling baby's little nose with his, saying things like: "My little fishie, we'll figure this out yeah? We love you so much, we'll make it alright."
And he notices a shift in his son's behavior. His little face is not scrunched up, brows no longer furrowed. He's calming down. Raf looks at him and then to the sea and the solution to his baby's distress finally dawns on him.
That's why he takes his baby for a swim at 3:30 in the morning. Baby Coral's distress seems to fade away in the tides. Raf is laughing and crying at the same time, cradling his baby close to his chest.
"Oh....your daddy is a dummy, fishie," and he plants kisses on the top of his head, smiling so bright the moonlight has got nothing on him. "I shoud've realized earlier, I'm so sorry, baby, so so sorry. It called you, right? I didn't expect it would happen so quickly," He plants a small kiss on the top of his son's forehead. "It's gonna be fine, ok? Just trust me", he says before diving into the depths of the ocean.
And later when MC wakes up, she briefly panics but then finds Raf on the other side of the couch, smiling as he holds a very calm baby, sleeping peacefully as if nothing bad had happened. MC is mesmerized and approaches them carefully, eyes locked in on her son. Then she slowly gazes up at Raf who is as smug as ever.
"How?"
"Wow, not even a good morning kiss? 🥺"
Raf tells her everything after he gets a peck on the lips. He thought she'd be mad at him for literally swiming to the bottom of the ocean with their little baby cause he's part human, part lemurian and said lemurian side is awakening in him. Instead amazed, even more in love. Raf gently passes the baby to her waiting arms. He watches as she caresses their baby's cheek and comes to the realization no painting will ever come close to the masterpiece in front of him.
As if on cue, the baby starts crying and MC let's out a chuckle because she knows this cry, he's not wailing nor in distress--he's hungry. When this tiny, precious being doesn't reject her, it's impossbile to contain her tears. Raf is quick to sit next to her and wipe her tears and let the relief wash over them. His baby boy is just fine, like he promised he'd be.
And that's it. It's out of my head now. 😭 I just really like the idea that baby Coral would totally hear the ocean calling for him but being so young he doesn't understand what's happening and that's the reason behind his "flu".
Papa!Raf makes me so emotional. Imagine how he'd feel showing his home to his little baby after everything he's been through 🥹🥹🥹
Anon, I am so honored you feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts with me 🥹 And your love for little Coral 🥺🩷 I really want to write a proper story for him so he can join the other three kiddos too, but....writer's block for his fish dad 😭😔
DON'T EVER APOLOGIZE FOR LEAVING LONG MESSAGES. THAT GOES FOR EVERYBODY 🫵 If you feel comfortable sharing with me, I AM SO FLATTERED, go for it, I enjoy reading your thoughts and ideas 💖💖💖
ANON, CAN I TACKLE YOU IN A HUG??? BECAUSE THIS WAS SO BEAUTIFUL I AM CRYING. The ocean calling for baby Coral 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 I love that Lemurian part of him is strong. The way Raf tries to be strong for his family. And MC being understanding. 🥹

Hi, I just wanted to say your blog has gotten me through all the my hero academia discourse from the epilogue leaks that have came, out I just find it so frustrating Remembering when chapter 430 came out the leaks taken out of context again. Seeing people hate on midoriya is frustrating to me as a midoriya lover and a bakudeku shipper. Being in fandom is so tiring will definitely be taking a break from my hero academia until Dec 4 when the volume officially comes out.
First, you're welcome!! ദ്ദി ( ᵔ ᗜ ᵔ )
Second, you should take your break!
I'm with you on how frustrating how this fandom can be. I am, too, a Midoriya fan (you already know I'm about to say he's my #1 tied with Miruko) and being a multishipper, I have came to like BakuDeku.
I'll tell you, seeing how everyone is reacting, I frankly find myself highly annoyed.
I don't discriminate, so I'm annoyed with just about everyone right now.
From saying this is canon and this is ruined and whatever else isn't helping anything.
It seemed almost no one learned.
The full chapter isn't out yet and people want to start ship wars.
BakuDeku's now coming for Horikoshi's throat are doing exactly what others have been saying for years, you are really proving what antis and others have been trying to call you folks! They've been calling the shippers "toxic" and now with the leaks out, BakuDeku are acting out. I thought you were better than this! Don't be attacking people, hello? Let alone the fucking mangaka???!!!
You can ship BakuDeku! Don't feed the haters what they want! DO BETTER!!
Oh, the other ship shouldn't celebrate so soon either. "Horikoshi has been hinting IzuOcha since the beginning. BakuDeku's were delusional into thinking their ship would be canon."
Show me you're an ass without telling me. Case and point.
First, can we drop that word, "delusional"? I hate it.
Second, I don't know if anyone is really paying attention, but the most Horikoshi has done with IzuOcha was make it feel one-sided. Izuku barely shown anything towards Ochako except being flustered around her like once or twice because she's a girl. Just like he has done with other girls.
BakuDeku shippers weren't delusional to ship them because look at the manga, just look. They even have a volume cover that looks to be a reference to Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy!!
What I hated about Ochako having a crush wasn't that she had a crush. It's Izuku, why wouldn't she like him? What I hated was the fandom chose to only recognize her for that. Whether you hated or loved Ochako, it feels like injustice to her to think only her crush on Izuku was important and then assume from barely fucking nothing that after eight years, he wants to date her because his possibly drunk ass looked at her and thought "I want to make her my wife, she's so pretty".
Sorry but it's a played out trope.
And after reading his previous works, Horikoshi making the main boy and girl canon don't even seem like his forte. It just don't feel right.
Now, them dating isn't bad and I know some people think "it will ruin Ochako's development" but again... how we know that with very little information?
And Izuku, my favorite green bean... this fandom really doesn't get you. I have unfollowed and blocked so many people within just year alone because of these bad takes about him.
"Bakugou should take that suit back". Bakugou isn't the only one who contributed to that suit. Yeah, he gave the most donation but saying that just makes him sound controlling. Don't do that. Don't make him sound like someone who would deprive someone of something just to control their actions. Bakugou fans, come on now.
After all the years of Bakugou being hated? Don't do that to him. I mean, I'm already disappointed in some of you, but come on.
Izuku ain't do nothing wrong that we know of! Cool your jets, first!
We don't have no full translation. We don't have all the pictures. The leaks gave to little to darn near nothing.
We don't know everything, but apparently it doesn't matter to anybody, does it, friend? (I meant the friend part affectionately!)
Again, I'm annoyed at just about everyone right now about this. Nothing is canon until everything is out on the table and every little detail is seen.
People were acting like 430 was such a terrible ending even before the whole chapter came out and now seeing them go "I guess that chapter wasn't so bad" is so funny to me. Oh, now it doesn't?

I'll give you Yusaku for "Send me a Yugioh character" owo
AH. Ahaha. Oh my god, okay. So for context, your ask landed in my inbox exactly when I was struggling with formatting my "Yusaku birthday post." Which means it caught me at a point when I had even MORE feelings than I usually do for this boy. I apologise in advance: the answer about Kaiba may have been a wall of text, but I'm afraid this one will become a full skyscraper of text. So go grab some tea, coffee, biscuits, whatever makes you feel good for a break, then sit back and relax while I scream at you about how much I CARE for Yusaku Fujiki.
(Whatever happens remember that you asked for it.) (Thank you so much for this, too, even if I've spent a good part of my afternoon and all my evening and part of my night on it.) (By the way at this point I really won't feel insulted if no one reads it to the end, I think I mostly need to get it all out of my system.)
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD, in the form of headcanons and personal analyses of Yusaku's character and his relationships, along with multiple screenshots, gif, videos, all hidden behind the excuse of an ask meme (so it's still superficial in many parts, but I feel like it's a good overview.) I'm putting it all behind a cut since I know how to use them now. (Or do I? It's the 4th time I edit to put the cut back to the place it's meant to be at.)
----------- Also, keeping track so I stop getting lost in my own blog: The original Ask meme Seto Kaiba Spectre Aoi Zaizen I still answer for other characters so long as they're from DM or Vrains!
Why I like him/why I don’t
I think it's Yusaku's resilience that I like the most. He can be no-nonsense and harsh, but he's always honest, and he always stands up. It's striking, actually, how he always manages to keep standing.
He's thrown to the ground by life, by his enemies (interestingly, many declare they are his enemies when he's not even TRYING to alienate them, and just doesn't really care.) Even his allies are the reason why he ends up beaten up sometimes. And yet, he always get back up. It's very rare to see him fully crash, which makes it even more impactful when he does.
I'm just fascinated at how even at his lowest, at the biggest blows he receives, he stands up. His strive for life is remarkable, so much so that it sometimes almost feels like a curse. Just the same way he keeps winning and winning, because he's good, of course, but also because losing is not an option. He has to stand up and he keeps doing it for himself, for others, and still manages to feel guilty for not doing enough.
Tumblr media
(I'm afraid you'll have to do with my French subtitles, I am NOT trying to find other streams just to make screencaps, these ones were hard enough to find.)
"Sorry, Kusanagi, your brother Jin has been taken and Lightning is menacing humanity and all of this is because I'm not strong enough."
Yusaku, FFS.
This is all heavily linked to the other aspect of his character I love most: Yusaku is so human. He's filled with hope. In one of the episodes of season 3, Revolver tells him to "stop thinking with his naive optimism".
Tumblr media
And Playmaker clearly doesn't like it, look at this face.
But he still holds onto it until the end. He's not giving up until he's forced to (and even when it's done, he takes off and tries to find solutions.)
And Yusaku cares, he cares so much. He may seem heinous and gratuitously savage with the way he shuns Shima or Ai, but you have to go beyond the words. When Shima is captured, he literally runs to his rescue, barely waiting for the van to stop before he jumps out of it to check on his classmate. Shima and other people around, no matter how annoying, will also give occasional encouragements (often hidden behind a layer of backhanded compliments, because that's how Yusaku rolls.)
Yusaku makes sure that people around him are feeling alright. He comforts them. He may not use the nicest words, he has the sensitivity of an elephant let loose in a fine china shop, but his words usually strike right where they should. He helps. He gives a lot of himself for this, apparently not caring what other people think of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goddamnit, Yusaku. Why are you trying to make me cry.
And this, actually, paradoxically, might be the only thing I dislike for him. It's not even about HIM per se (he may not be perfect but I am able to admit I'm too biased to not have a hard time finding him any flaws.) It's the way he gives so much of himself for everyone leads not only to people relying on him a lot, they also tend to take him for granted. And it pisses me off. Yusaku doesn't really fight against it, which, understandable considering his character, his backstory, everything. But sometimes I wish he could stop being the hero of Link VRAINS, because he's spreading himself too thin, and he had to break at some point. Or multiple times.
What I like about his appearance
I am trying SO hard to stop myself from waxing all kinds of poetics on him, so for this once I'll go with the most obvious: his EYES.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Yes this was all a shameless excuse to flood you with close-ups of Yusaku and Playmaker's beautiful, vibrant eyes.)
The colour is striking, of course, especially in contrast with his or Playmaker's hair. But also, for someone meant to be aloof and stoic, Yusaku's eyes are hella expressive. His eyebrows only emphasise it, and actually, this is another trait I really like: Playmaker's eyebrows are orange. Playmaker is a real red-head! It makes me irrationally happy. It's the little details, folks, and Yusaku definitely pays more attention to them than most would expect.
And the second aspect of his appearance I just can't omiss...
Tumblr media
...Well, that's his smile, of course! If only he had reasons to smile more often. Look at him; no matter how terrible the situation, he manages to smile.
Tumblr media
This one is from when he says goodbye to Kusanagi before the final duel agains Ai. It's honestly quite tragic, but here he is. Smiling. Why is no one in this series protecting this smile. What are they all DOING.
Anyway, I've been writing for way too long already and I still have TOO MUCH to say so that's it for the appearance. He's adorable, he's beautiful, he's gorgeous.
Do I prefer his dub names or original names?
You'd think the question is not relevant since his name is the same in both, BUT. There's actually a massive difference. I can't take the dub version's stressed Yu'SAku seriously when in Japanese it's very clearly 'YUUsaku. Also, watching parts of the dub has been very amusing once I accepted that it was a parody, but there's not much to keep. Not even the pronunciation of a name. So I'm going with original, no hesitation.
OTP
Okay, another obvious one. If you've been following me you have noticed the ridiculous amount of Datastormshipping I put in your feed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Evil smile besties ftw.
And YET.
It's so hard to ship them seriously. There's so much to repair. I can't see them all lovey-dovey, they have to work for it, and work HARD. Because Playmaker is just... so completely defanged when he's in front of Revolver. And Revolver, while actually acting in the shadow to support Playmaker so many times in the course of 120 episodes, never spares him a kind word, a nice face, except when he thinks he's dying.
I suspect he's not doing it consciously, but the way Revolver behaves makes me feel like he takes Playmaker for granted. It makes sense, considering their backstory: Revolver has obsessed over Playmaker and endangered people he cared about because of it. He has also proved multiple times that he is very intent to shoulder the full blame for an incident he had not much to do about, so he'd rather keep Playmaker and his "stupid faith in him" at a distance. But Revolver is also Playmaker's saviour, which makes it so Playmaker trusts him and can follow him blindly no matter what.
Tumblr media
Eloquent: everyone is wary to follow, but Playmaker is first in line, not a hint of hesitation in spite of having no idea of what lies behind the portal.
For this reason, I'm actually happy with the Revolver event in Duel Links, in spite of all its writing flaws.
In the event, Playmaker feels Revolver with his Link Sense even before he arrives, which shows that he's still VERY attuned to Revolver. And in spite of this clear bond, Playmaker really stands against Revolver and asserts his beliefs with no room for negociation, something he hasn't done since the Tower of Hanoi (...and even then, arguably, he was trying to negociate.) He is not yielding no matter how important Revolver might be for him. And, at the end of the event, Revolver seems to be relieved to have met such resistance. He even sounds sort of supportive? It's open to interpretation, but my feeling was that he actually approved of Playmaker's doing and encouraged him. The Ghost Gal and Spectre events that followed emphasised it for me. They're clearly not fighting anymore, but they also don't have this weird blind spot for each other anymore.
With this approach, I feel like they'd have better roots for a relationship that would not lean towards codependence or other unhealthy bases.
Don't get me wrong, I adore the fluff, and Datastormshipping really is the obvious end goal for me, but for this ship what I love most is them having to work for it. Because even if they clearly trust each other, Yusaku will have to learn to NOT give all of himself blindly, and Ryoken will need to learn to actively LISTEN to Yusaku, and even make him speak.
(As a quick parenthesis, because I'll get back to this topic later and I'd rather not leave any ambiguity: as much as I resent him for his treatment of Yusaku, I absolutely adore Revolver, in this terrible love/hate dynamic that makes me hate to love him and love to hate him. In spite of everything, or maybe DUE to all of this, I really like his character. I'm not sure I'll ever write deep meta about him, though, because he's already had a lot written about him and I doubt I have much more to bring to discussions that happened years ago. But who know what time will bring? Anyway, Datastormshipping FTW.)
NOTP
BEWARE: unpopular opinion ahead. I actually can't see Aiballshipping.
Again, don't get me wrong: I see where the shippers come from, and I really don't hate the ship! I've read multiple doujin and fanfictions, I enjoy the content, I enjoy the art, I love the analyses of the ship... But I can't see it, because for me, it goes beyond a romantic relationship. Ai is literally a part of Yusaku. Him and Yusaku are a package, in a way: if someone wants to be with Yusaku, they'll also have to be with Ai. If someone says Yusaku "It's Ai or me", they'd better not expect to be chosen. I understand Aiballshipping. I like reading takes on it, I like reading stories about it. But to me, what Ai and Yusaku have is not romantic. It's something obvious, a given, almost fusional. They don't kiss; they can communicate without saying a word. (Even if they spend their time throwing jabs at each other out loud.) Any other romantic relationship will come in addition to it, without being replaced by it. So I don't "ship" it. It's very much not an OTP. I have no idea which verb I could use for it, though, because I'm not really sure it can be considered queerplatonic either.
OT3
Di-sas-ter-ship-ping! It's actually my main ship, even if there's not a lot of content. Sure, if we want to make it work in a nice healthy way, it's going to be quite the challenge. BUT not everything has to be serious and reasonable or even believable (I have datastormshipping for this) and seriously, the dynamic between these three has so much potential for wholesomeness, stupid arguments and general chaos. It's called disastershipping for a reason. (Not only this, I know, but still.)
Tumblr media
Look at them, their smug poses and their stupidly form-fitting costumes. What could go wrong, right? <3
Favourite card he uses
Contrary to my answer re: Kaiba's deck, this time I am familiar with Playmaker's deck, because I play it AND I actually watched his duels multiple times to understand how he uses it. The fact is that even if there's the usual "I magically draw the exact card I need and use if without even looking at it" effect that is characteristic to Yu-Gi-Oh animes, his deck is solid and it really allows different kind of combos to always find workaround. (Doesn't mean I don't brick often, but not everyone can be Playmaker.)
So I actually have TWO favourite cards. The first one is my little love, usually one of the first to join the field: Backup Secretary.
Tumblr media
She's beauty, she's grace, she's always here to help me link summon my ace. She's easy to use. She may not be the best one, but I'm so happy to have her in my deck—three times. I have multiple other cards that allow me to bring her in my hand. She never stays long on the field, since her specialty is to help summoning various types of Code Talkers, but she's a life saver. And seriously her design is awesome.
And the second one is, in my amateur point of view (I need to write the disclaimer that while I'm not BAD at duelling, I'm not exactly GOOD either and I miss a lot, lot, lot of subtleties) one of the best cards in Playmaker's deck: Recoded Alive.
Tumblr media
This card is a lifesaver. It has multiple effects for different situations. It helps me avoid having an empty field when my opponent's field is filled with monsters. It's a trap, and allows me to switch monsters when attacked if I use it during the opponent's turn. It allows me to bring another monster to the field and have another attacking monster if I play it during my own battle phase.
And even if we want to remain focused on Playmaker's storyline, it's one of the most important ones Yusaku plays in the anime. It's always here for him since the beginning, and it has allowed him to bring back so many monsters. I mean, it basically wins him a duel against Revolver. It saves him against Ai. It's just... I love this card. It took me forever to understand how it works, but now it's hard to imagine a Playmaker deck without it.
Favourite moment(s) he was in
And here I thought I had already written enough. Well, we're here for a few more hours. I hope your tea has not gone cold.
I dare hope that you KNEW you shouldn't expect me to choose only ONE moment. There are so many. I can't satisfy myself with only one, I must bring up a few more, but not too many because this post is overwhelming enough as it is.
1. Season 1, when Playmaker goes against Akira to recover files in SOL's massive datbase. I can't begin to express how angry I was with the way Akira treats Yusaku. I know it was done in good faith, but having Akira tell Yusaku "go have a normal life, go out with your friends, enjoy your life as a teenager and prepare for your future, it's important" is just horribly condescending. It's SO satisfying to see Playmaker put the Zaizen, who always seem to think they know what he feels, or what is best for him, in their place. There's something incredibly satisfying in having Yusaku say "It is MY story and it is MINE to tell".
Tumblr media
"I don't want the story of my past to be told by someone else."
Having Playmaker defend his story like this, and not let others take it or misinterpret it (especially when they feel like they "understand"), is, to me, a very powerful moment. And as if this wasn't enough, Yusaku adds a power move to it, adding a step in his final turn that he didn't have to do to win the duel: returning the two Tindangle cards representing Akira and Aoi to the hand rather than winning by leaving them both in the graveyard. When confronted about it, he answers that he doesn't want the siblings to be in the darkness of the graveyard, that his revenge should not implicate them and that they should walk towards the light. It is incredibly heartful, AND an amazing way to show Zaizen that he will never manage to "understand" Yusaku considering the mindset he keeps displaying. That was so badass, seriously. I wish the Zaizen had learnt more from it.
2. Season 2, after the duel against Kusanagi. Playmaker won and collapsed, not waking up. The second moment I like most is there, in Yusaku's head. It's intimidating... and slightly tragic.
Tumblr media
"I have done enough. I'm tired."
Oh. It's been building up for so many episodes, they've been straining him so much, and finally, it happens. The quietest mental breakdown, the hint of depression. It makes him so human, so relatable suddenly, and yet it's so painful. I love this moment because it really brought me back to who he is: a 16 year old kid with a trauma bigger than himself and the expectations of a whole city (world?) on his shoulders. I'm glad he gets up again, but I'm also really glad that we get to see this part of him, so tragically realistic. Now let's wrap him in a blanket and hug him, okay?
3. Season 3: The "last nice moments in the real world". I wish we had had more of those in the whole course of the series, there was SO MUCH potential for it! Look at them being teenagers. Yusaku, so happy, confident and carefree as he is working for Kusanagi (and this apron makes him look so cute.) Yusaku, being pestered by Shima who wants to know where Playmaker is (WHY would Yusaku know? Shima has weird leaps of logic.) And Aoi and Yusaku having the most AWKWARD handshake, that instantly relieved me from the fear that Aoi might be a love interest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This is what high schoolers do I guess. Okay, we tried, we're done, completely uninteresting, let's move on now. When's our next trauma-session already?"
That's three moments I love, but I can't resist adding a last Painful Bonus: another moment of "let's make Playmaker suffer". I'm so sorry, Yusaku.
4. Season 3: Roboppi's death; the flashback to a younger Yusaku who has just built his cleaning robot and is SO proud, so happy and welcoming, and then Playmaker, broken, begging Soulburner to strike one last time and finish Roboppi.
I feel like his eyes, at that moment, are another reminder of his age. It's one of the most terrible scenes of the whole anime (I'd say ex-aequo with Ai's final words), it's masterfully executed, the pacing is amazing, the work on the expressions is amazing, the voice acting is incredible. But really, these eyes.
Least favourite moment
Two moments come to mind, and both are in the third season. You'll see there's a recurring theme, and more importantly, the fact that I really don't like these moments barely comes from Yusaku's role in them. Even if his personality encourages it.
1. The scene at the pier. It's REALLY, REALLY not Yusaku's fault, but he's still one of the two major protagonists so it counts as a "least favourite moment." Yusaku is going for the final fight, and Ryoken catches him, sends him and almost kills him with the card that will help him win the duel against Ai. I know this scene is considered one of the cornerstones of Datastormshipping, but all I can see is... Yusaku getting rejected, again, after saying goodbye to Kusanagi with a brave and grateful smile on his face, and just before having to destroy someone that is essentially a part of him. He calls Ryoken's name, and Ryoken keeps the most distance possible. I think it may have been one of the worst things Ryoken could have done, and even the fact that the Borrel dragon is actually a symbol of how much Ryoken believes in Yusaku,.. well, it would still be not enough to recover from the blatant, cold rejection Yusaku received at that moment. Ryoken, I know you couldn't find it in you to encourage him, but you only had to say his first name. Acknowledge him more than by coldly stating his complete name. And maybe NOT use the word "farewell" this time, because twice in the few first minutes of an episode is way too much. GOD FORBID Yusaku has any sort of support from Ryoken, that would encourage him to feel like they have a bond, the horreur. (Ugh.) With Playmaker knowing that Takeru would leave, Aoi would have Miyu, Kusanagi would have his brother, having Ryoken just... coldly ignoring all tentative of closeness, and leaving without looking back, WELL. It's no wonder Yusaku disappeared solo at the end. From his perspective, he had no one left.
2. Mission begin: everyone is ready to try and stop Ai, the plan is set and Playmaker is not part of any team since he's not even here. Except...
Tumblr media
"We can't begin without Playmaker."
It annoys me so much, because the thing is, yes, yes you really can begin without Playmaker. And you should, Heaven's sake!
Many characters at this point have told him that they would understand if he didn't want to take part in this fight, that they would shoulder some of his burden and that he could rest and stay away for his health and sanity.
The thing is, Yusaku is not this kind of person. He will take responsbility and let no one else do the job in his stead. And he comes back, in a rather flashy way, EXACTLY when they're all expecting him. And barely anyone is surprised, they all look so relieved. They were waiting for this.
This moment leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth, because here is the problem with Playmaker: he's so good and reliable that people just... lean on him and wait for him to do the hard work. No matter how traumatising. I took screenshots of the many, many times people said "I leave it into your hands, Playmaker". "I know you"ll complete the job well, Playmaker." "I'm counting on you, Playmaker." I am not putting all of them here, but I have an album of these.
In doing so, they only enable his rather destructive hero-complex.
Destructive because, consider: he had a huge trauma when he was a kid and never fully recovered. When he finally learns and fights the truth behind this trauma, he feels like his revenge is over, but the person he'd spent years and years looking for is gone after treating him quite awfully. Additionally, he releases his new "hostage/friend" and goes back to being alone. He's been a hero, and all he got was: being alone again. Come Takeru, and somehow he acquires a sort of social circle. He's not really good at it, but it exists, and he even looks quite comfortable with it, if a bit awkward. Then he's forced to watch, powerless, as all his newfound friends/trusted persons get erased one after another, all of them with parting words expressing how much they trusted him to fix this. Way to make him feel like it's great to have friends and allies, uh. Then the humans come back, but the Ignis are dead, and he feels like he has failed his self-imposed mission to find a way to coexist. Ai is gone, Ryoken sort of gloats (I understand it's probably not what he intended, but it still feels awfully like it.) He's been a hero, and all he got was: more trauma about losing people, more responsibilities he shouldn't have to shoulder, and likely no one who understands the pain he's in because the world is safe now.
And then Ai comes back and everything goes upside down, and Yusaku lives in denial all beginning of season 3.
That's what makes it a self-destructive complex, for me. Every time he plays hero, Yusaku exposes himself to the things that hurt him most. He's never rewarded. And yet, he keeps doing it, and giving people what they want from him/taking responsibility for things that should NEVER be considered his responsibility. It drives me crazy.
Note: I have a similar beef with the "epilogue", in which they all have something nice to say about Playmaker, and they're all so certain that he's amazing, that he'll be back... And yet. No one is looking. Not even Revolver, who should have it easy since he's working from the inside. Arguably, Kusanagi keeps the foodtruck parked in the same place so he has a home to go back to if he wishes
Tumblr media
"He would be sad if he didn't have a place to come back to sometimes": I am convinced that Kusanagi is aware of how fragile the notion of "home" is for Yusaku.
So there's this at least. Arguably #2, I guess we could say they all know he doesn't want to communicate and they respect it. But the way they talk about him, it doesn't feel like its the case.
And this is why I keep saying that they don't deserve him; are they friends, or are they fans? Is any of them even really trying to do something for him, beyond "understanding his feelings" (Aoi, sigh), or rooting for him in the typical "Good old Playmaker, always knows what to do!" way (Takeru, sigh.)
Oh, Yusaku. The way they treat you upsets me so much. It's absolutely not what they're aiming for, but it's like they're encouraging you to develop new traumas instead of really helping you, and it makes me so angry.
So, yeah. I hate these moments, and these dynamics.
Would I fuck, marry or kill him
WHY IS THERE NO "ADOPT" OPTION. Well, the choice is quite easy by elimination. I would NOT kill him (in case you had not gathered already) I would very much NOT fuck him (I really doubt he'd be interested in it either, so that works well for both of us.) Soooo... marry, I guess? That would be hella awkward, but eh, if I can't adopt him, might as well use the option that would vaguely allow to, you know, protect and cherish. Even so, it's hard imagining Yusaku settling like this.
Aaaaand I'm done and off to bed, three hours later than planned. Honestly, kudos if you've read until here. Before I sign off, please receive the cutest gif of Yusaku to thank you for bearing with me for the past 2k+ words of crying over this incredible boy who deserves better.
Tumblr media
You know, maybe my OTP is actually Yusaku/hotdog. They do deserve each other.

Is That All There Is?
Tumblr media
Description
"Is That All There Is?", a song written by American songwriting team Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller during the 1960s, became a hit for American singer Peggy Lee and an award winner from her album of the same title in November 1969. The song was originally performed by Derick Snow who does the voice of Shinra Kusakabe from Fire Force in May 2020 for Lilo & Goku: Friendship is Magic. “Is That All There Is?” might be the quintessential Lilo & Goku: Friendship is Magic song — or, at the very least, the quintessential song about the unbearable lightness of being Don Draper. It reminds me of a moment in the season-two episode "Dodgeball City" when, seconds the Cutie Mark Crusaders discovers something shocking from Shinra's past. After Shinra defeat Murph and his gang, the Crusaders him, he speaks out his desire to retire from dodgeball for good, and then walks out into the sunset followed by a western voice, implied to be an older Tamaki, stating that she will always look up to Shinra as her hero. Like the narrator of the song, we often see him struggling to accept and appreciate the things that seem to dazzle the more contented people around him, whether it’s love, money, LSD,California sunshine, or Sgt. Pepper’s.

🎵I remember when I was a very little boy, our house caught on fire.
I'll never forget the look on my mother's face as she turn into a demon infernal that behind the fire accident which took place at my home and raced through the burning building out to the pavement.
I stood there shivering in my pajamas and watched the whole world go up in flames.
And when it was all over I said to myself, "Is that all there is to a fire?"🎵
🎵Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing
Let's break out the booze and have a ball
If that's all there is🎵
🎵And when I was only 5 years old, my new family took me to the circus, the greatest show on earth.
There were clowns and elephants and dancing bears
And a beautiful lady in pink tights flew high above our heads.
And as I sat there watching the marvelous spectacle
I had the feeling that something was missing.
I don't know what, but when it was over,
I said to myself, "Is that all there is to a circus?"🎵
🎵Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing
Let's break out the booze and have a ball
If that's all there is🎵
🎵Then I fell in love, with the most wonderful girl in the world.
We would take long walks by the river or just sit for hours gazing into each other's eyes.
We were so very much in love.
Then one day, she went away. And I thought I'd die -- but I didn't.
And when I didn't I said to myself, "Is that all there is to love?"🎵
🎵Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing🎵
🎵I know what you must be saying to yourselves.
If that's the way he feels about it why doesn't he just end it all?
Oh, no. Not me. I'm in no hurry for that final disappointment.
For I know just as well as I'm standing here talking to you,
when that final moment comes and I'm breathing my lst breath, I'll be saying to myself,🎵
🎵Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing
Let's break out the booze and have a ball
If that's all there is🎵

I’m from PH too but it’s not everyday we see a 19 year old like you. You look and act like a minor
Dude, I'm literally turning 20 this November. Look, I'm just as in denial of my age as much as you are, but I'm sorry to break it to you I just look like this 💀💀💀 I got nothing, dude. I'd rather someone tell me 'Wow, you look young for your age!' especially since the whole internet seems to be terrified at the prospect of ageing. I'll just take it as a compliment and move on with my day.
And since you apparently know how every single 19-year-old act then tell me, how do you want me to behave? And how do you want me to convey that through fucking text? What, do you want me to capitalize my words? Use proper punctuation and grammar? Ooh, do I seem like a big girl to you now that I'm typing properly?
Do you want me to spell it out for you? I play a character here, you fucking dumbass. You don't know me. You can't just sum up my entire personality solely from text posts and some art alone. If you seriously think I 'act' like this irl then, boy, do i have news for you.
Not everything you see here on the internet is the full picture. It may come as a huge surprise to you but I don't show the entirety of my personality here. The fact I even have to say that to someone who I assume is older than me is laughable. You'd think for someone who thinks they can spot a minor, they'd be smart enough to know that.
Every time i post something in this blog, I'm not thinking whether it's 'a true reflection of my soul' or whether 'I'm conveying my real self'. I'm not thinking any of that bullshit. I just try to think of a joke or do something entertaining so I can get a snort from another stranger on the other side of the planet. I admit most of them are a hit or a miss but I like making people laugh. I like getting a 'lmao' from another person, it's nice. And my art is just shit I draw during my free time. It's really not that deep. This is such an unserious blog.
Maybe, that's why you're saying I act like a minor? It's because I'm immature, overdramatic, over-the-top, or annoying? When we grow up do we just suddenly become just as miserable as you? Is that it? Everyone matures at a different age, some minors act more mature than me because of various circumstances. Oh, but they're adults, right? Cause they have more emotional maturity? Cause they act more professional? Cause they're more serious?
If you think I'm lying about my age or whatever then unfollow me, block me for all I care. Make the both of us happy.

Ahh, I didn't know you liked Bridgerton! (I was away from tumblr for a moment and just now catching up on your blog) I'm obsessed with Penelope and Colin. How did you like season 3? I always love reading your thoughts! I saw so many people complain but I mostly really enjoyed it. I wish it didn't have so many random plotlines, and I didn't like the insta-baby but overall they're my favourite couple in the show haha.
Hi Nonny! Welcome back to the Tumblr! <3
Tumblr media
I hope you don't mind me indulging a little with your ask, lol. If you've followed me for any length of time, you do know I can't shut up - but I realized I haven't really said my actual thoughts on the season, etc, I just started meta'ing and haven't looked back. So, pull up a chair, Nonny, as I chatter non-stop for a bit about Bridgerton and my thoughts on season 3, lol.
I'll put it under a cut to save the rest of your souls....
Part 1: How did we get here?
Am I big fan of historical romance? No, not really. Did I expect this show to ever have a grip on me? Not even a little bit. How in the world did this happen? Idk - it appears that favorite tropes and character designs and dynamics seem to transcend genre. And I'm an old sap.
The tl:dr version is that I watched Seasons 1 and 2 after Season 2 came out. It was fine. Not a huge fan of Season 1, I did like Season 2 though. And then kind of forgot it existed. Eloise was by far my favorite character - because I liked her spunk. And the friendship between Eloise and Penelope was the best part of the show.
And then I was reminded that Season 3 dropped and did not expect the shock that I got. I went in completely blind - I hadn't seen a single promo. I did know, because I looked up the books when I originally watched, that it would be Pen and Colin's story. But I was kind of fascinated at how they were going to go about it. Penelope was not a stereotypical leading lady. And Colin was very boy-ish looking in the early seasons. How was this going to work?
Oh man, the glow ups. The glow ups got me. Pen is so, so gorgeous this entire season. When she's wearing her hair down, omg... Or that one look where she's like a housewife writing in her journal. God damn, girl. She can get it. And then Colin... ha. When he got out of the carriage, I was like - oh shit. It was the pirate coat. A good pirate coat will always do me in.
But more than that - really, the dynamics of the characters just really sold me. I love friends to lovers. I love the angst and the pull. I love the whole she fell first he fell harder. I love that I unintentionally just go for the same kind of characters and their dynamics over and over and over.
And then, you know, between the first part and second part, I rewatched the first two seasons, which was helpful. (Though, still not a huge fan of season 1.) Was addicted to the promo tour (my god I love a good promo tour). And @ckerouac - got me to watch Derry Girls which really cemented my love of Nicola Coughlan. And, you know, once you start going down a hole, you just have to keep on going until you get to the other side.
Idk how we really got here, Nonny, but here we are! Lol
Part 2: My thoughts on Season 3
So, briefly, I just fell in love with Part 1 right off the bat. LOVED IT. Part 2, honestly, I felt disappointed after seeing it the first time. (I remember episode 6, in particular, thinking - wow that was not a very good episode).
And then... I rewatched it and then rewatched it again after watching Seasons 1 and 2 and kind of started to take it a part a bit, and it's grown on me. A lot! I actually do really love the season as a whole and appreciate what we've got...
Breaking it down a little more:
Pen and Colin's story: I still do think the first half is stronger. The whole Colin helping Pen find a husband, Lord Debling (who is a doll), Colin figuring out his issues, that carriage scene... ooff, all really, really good. The second half - there just needed to be more. At first, it was hard to watch them go through a wedding while being mad at each other, but I feel like now that I've had time to digest it all, it is /so/ good. It's a really, really fascinating dynamic going on there. I could and probably will go on at length about it later... a couple of things, though
They just needed more. The plot was so delicious. I did love the conflict over lady whistledown and I wish we had seen that tension played out better and resolved better. The end of episode 8 was a bit to fast. I swear - Season 4 better have some solidly good Polin moments or idek... They've been such a big part of the show as a whole, I hope they get to continue their development, even if it they go back to their Seasons 1 and 2 focus.
The season works better if you remember what happened in seasons 1 and 2. I had zero memory of the plots from the first two seasons going in. I didn't realize Colin's personality had changed. I couldn't remember any of the Polin moments in the first two seasons. This third season makes a whole lot more sense being built from what came before it, and honestly, I kind of love that. It makes the story more layered and engaging.
As for the insta-baby, I mean, they set it up at the beginning of the season, but it wasn't something I needed to enjoy the couple. I do wonder if they'll go back and explore that 9 months, or if things will pick up after post-baby.
Also, on perhaps a shallower note? I thought the actors had great chemistry. And I have so much respect for Nicola Coughlan for allowing herself to be presented in such a way. She is GORGEOUS in every aspect and the backlash over her body is ABSURD. If you can’t get on board that a larger woman can be seen as desirable than you can fuck right off because she is amazing.
Poor Luke Newton has gotten some push back, too, which I think is a little unfair. He's not expressive the way Jonny Bailey is, but Colin really isn't Anthony, and is much more an inward character. And the awkwardness of his attempt at rake-ishness in the beginning is supposed to be awkward. Colin isn't smoldering like the Duke from Season 1, either. He's a sweet, romantic kid who adores his bff-turned-wife, and the whole season (I mean, can we talk about the all the mirrors?) is about cutting through the bullshit we do to try to mask who we really are.
The thing about Luke Newton that I really appreciate is that he really understands who his character is and keeps that front and center. Colin is trying to be something he's not, and the real Colin slips out unintendedly, and that kind of subtly is hard to play.
The absolute best moments were when they laughed together - they both really shine when Pen and Colin are allowed to be the sweet friends they've been all along.
Anyway tl:dr - loved their relationship, and my heart will just be broken if we don't get more good development as the seasons continue.
Penelope and Eloise: The fact that this relationship was angled as another romance per se was also delicious. As I said above - Pen and Eloise were probably my favorite dynamic pre-Polin and it was devastating to watch them work their relationship out. But again, it was all so delicious. I loved it and thought it was perfect.
The Featheringtons: I LOVED THEM! They were perfection. I love that they leaned into some really good comedy with the sisters. Not only were they able to show off Nicola's excellent comedic skills, the family as a whole was just a whole delight. I loved the sisters. I loved their husbands. I even liked Portia - and, honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of her in earlier seasons. I loved that they linked Pen and Portia, it really made them seem like mother and daughter.
Colin and his family: There were some fascinating dynamics!
Colin and Eloise: yes, the third part of the platonic love triangle I loved their dynamic during the season. Eloise never really knowing how to handle Colin. The fact that they're close and yet awkwardly so. The fact that they both care so much about Pen in different ways and how LW just hangs over both dynamics. Ooff, so good.
Colin and Anthony & Benedict (and let's throw George in here, too): Love it. Wish there had been more. The brothers are hilarious and wonderful together and just I ate it all up with a spoon. Also, as an aside, I love that George is slowly coming into focus. The kid is adorable.
Colin and Francesca (and let's throw Hyacinth in here, too): Hilariously, Colin and Francesca speak zero times to each other during the whole season. Isn't that weird? Really, their plot lines do not intersect except tangentially for family moments. It's so weird. I feel like I have no sense of this dynamic. As for Hyacinth - I adore her, and I feel like she has more personality than Francesca :P
Colin and Violet: I kind of loved this. She's a mother who understands her kids. And even though Violet wasn't around that much for the A-Plot, I like what role she did have to play in getting Colin to act.
Alright, so the rest of the subplots... It did feel like an abundance of them, but was there really more than previous seasons? Or was it the fact that Pen and Colin usually were subplots, and now that they're the main focus, everything else kind of shifts awkwardly around them?
Anthony and Kate: I love them to pieces, and wish there had been more of them. Their dynamic remains sexy and smart. Kate remains one of the best characters on the show, and is such an intelligent woman. I'm so glad she had wonderful, insightful conversations with her new family. I really would have loved to have had a Kate and Penelope scene. Also, the India thing was awkward - I lol'd because it clearly was written as an 'out' for the couple. But it's ultimately fine. But yes - bring back Kanthony in future seasons. I really don't care how much Jonathan Bailey is doing other things.
Cressida Cowper: I thought she was a fantastic villain, and the fact that she was so wrapped up with Eloise was kind of delicious. I don't think they needed to linger on her private life as much as they did. But I was fascinated that there seemed to be some queer coding in there, and wondered, for a bit if she was going to be a lesbian. I also think her ending was a little weak and she just kind of scampered off without any reprieve. I do wonder if she'll be back, tbh.
Francesca: Oof. It was intriguing on first watch but I find it incredibly dragging on subsequent watches and have a tendency to skip over it. I think this is the one plot line that really could have been cut down. I understand that it's set up but it was kind of meh for me. However, I am totally fine with her love interest being changed to a woman. Let's do this bisexuals! Speaking of which...
Benedict: My god, it felt like the show doesn't know what to do with him - and I am hoping Season 4 is his, because they NEED to do something with Benedict. So, to be clear, I LOVE that they made him bisexual. But the woman he was with was so boring, and I just did not care - because I knew it ultimately wasn't going to go anywhere. And, what was with the never ending orgy? Did we really need to cut back to it ten times? Please, show, give Benedict something interesting to do.
The Mondriches: Look, I feel bad saying it, but these people ultimately served no purpose to the show and could have been lifted right out. I'm sure the actors are lovely but if they're not going to directly service the story, then why are we wasting our time? Though, at least they really aren't the ones taking up the most time.
The Queen: They could have played up the rivalry between her and LW a lot more, and they just didn't. It felt... a little anticlimactic. Also, now what do they do with her as a character? Meh.
Violet and Lady Danbury's brother: I just don't care. I get it. I get that Violet should have something to do outside her children. But there are already a million plots, and not everyone needs to have their own individual story. By the time they threaded this in around episode 3 it did feel like too much.
Did I miss anything?
So... that's how I felt on everything. I have seen commentary about the pushback on Season 3. There are some things I agree about and a lot I don't.
About the actors: I disagree, Nicola and Luke are a delight, and they don't deserve the pushback they've been getting.
About the subplots: It is too many, and I do think they should have either made the season longer, or cut a few things.
About Polin not being as steamy: I think Daphne and Simon's soft core porn-a-thon set an expectation that doesn't necessarily work when you're going for other tropes. I did like the steamy scenes we got (though the last one should have been longer -- we better get some happy sex in season 4 or I will be annoyed) but Polin doesn't have the same dynamic as (what is their shipper name??) Daphne/Simon. We were never going to get the porn-a-thon.
Kanthany didn't either in Season 2, I don't know what to tell people. I appreciate that they're servicing the story they're telling and not just relying on sex. But, I will say, it is still the romance genre, based on books that do feature a lot of sex, so I can understand disappointment in some respects. There is a reason people watch these things, and when it's not met, it can be frustrating.
Idk, what else are people bitching about? (that's rhetorical) I think two years is too long a wait for a show like this. And the anthology aspect of it can make it hard when the focus shifts. People adored Anthony and Kate and to shift it to a very different type of love story can feel jarring, especially, I think if you've spent the past two years digesting what we've already had.
And then there are some people who are just never happy.
And I mean, I already feel a little 'meh' about Season 4. (It'll be Benedicts, there are so many hints...) I'll continue to watch, but I am incredibly sad that this was the year my favorites got to shine. My only hope is that Pen and Colin continue to occupy a space in the story... lord help us, though, in that it doesn't take another ten years to finish...
So.... them my thoughts! I'm sure I'll have more of them as I settle into this bright new world.

Jazz For Two Live Blogging
Another kBL, here we go.
Ep 1 (Apr 11)
ASTCO boys
I think I heard something or other about bullying and I wasn't sure if it was between the main couple since it's enemies to lovers but it seems like it's between the second couple? is homophobia gonna be an aspect of the bullying?
ah, somebody dear to him used used to play piano but is... probably dead now?
Taejoon, Taeyi they were probably brothers ig
but did Taejoon die on Taeyi's birthday then?
Ep 2 (Apr 11)
lol this is the "that's my boyfriend" scene that's in so many edits/clips for the show
lmfao tripped and spun long enough in each other's arms for it to basically be a dance
I was kinda expecting Doyoon to walk in but makes sense it's the other guy Juha since Doyoon went home
hm Juha being weird to Seheon... is it to get back at Taeyi cuz he thinks they have a thing? Well don't harass Seheon
Ep 3 (Apr 12)
I really fucked up starting this right now agh... I'll try to go back to doing my work after watching a few scenes
Juha gotta stop playing with Seheon like this! Creep >:(
but what is Juha telling Taeyi
woah Seheon is such a fool lmfao first being like Juha sunbae doesn't seem like a bad dude like no way... and second being like oh! The reason Taeyi doesn't like Juhee is because he likes Juha lmfao. clocked him being into guys lol but wrong guy
this show kinda funny lol the way Seheon asked everybody for help and is not even telling Taeyi that he apparently likes Juha
okay y'know what at least Seheon is indeed in the noraebang so I'm sure he'll step in... at some point... right? Becuase I was worried what Juha was gonna do to Seheon but he really just seems to have the most fun when he's playing with Seheon right in front of Taeyi to make him jealous. creep tho
I actually don't get it, is Seheon dumb af regarding what Juha is doing?
bruh Juha is such a creep and so scary too D: Is Doyoon really gonna end up with him :(
NO ! >:( what fuckass kiss already no !
Ep 4 (Apr 12)
...welp I watched full ep 3 unfortunately, smh
agh i do get the appeal of the bully romance aspect but it’s so agh like how dare Juha treat beloved puppy cute Doyoon like that
taeyi having trouble sleeping but falling asleep listening to seheon play piano
even the therapist being like hmm you got any feelings for him?
watched this much in bed before going to sleep lol
dang, Taeyi is ill?
Ep 5 (Apr 12)
Juhee saw her brother punch Doyoon (but not Doyoon kissing him first?)
Doyoon and Seheon are cute friends, can't they end up together and not Juha with Doyoon? Or at least give me something to warm up to Juha/Doyoon soon
Ah, scene from the beginning of Taeyi coming to Seheon with the umbrella
another fakeout kiss, this time from the main couple lol
Ep 6 (Apr 12)
so did they kiss in-show or no?
i'm gonna assume no and it was just supposed to be a trick with the umbrella smh
hah only one bed
dirty?!
ah, everything falling apart for Juha but he's still scary so no
i hope this turns out to be a real Taeyi/Seheon kiss
Ep 7 (Apr 12)
i hope Taeyi doesn't react badly to the kiss...
I was like okayyy Juha/Doyoon convo but idek how I feellllll cuz like I'm into it with one foot while with the other I'm like it's not... enough yet to make up for his creepy/weirdo/scary behaviour but it's still... cute idk
Oof Taeyi really wiped his mouth
Taeyi talking about whether he's a girl to Seheon or Seheon considers himself a girl is kinda crazy actually
omg why are these love interests all so scary T.T Taeyi stoppp wtf is this sexual assault kinda
okay didn't take too long to make up apparently
both the couples have become so ooey gooey cute, is it earned? who knows
What's up with the Jazz For Two thing, did their brothers have something too or what? Or is it plagiarism?
Ep 8 (Apr 12)
Did he die because of you is a crazy thing to ask fr
Taejoon and Sejin whole history goddamn but it also parallels the two couples' stories (except sad ending)
ah, Seheon wants to break up with the Taeyi cuz of all their brotherly mess?
they usually make up quickly which is good cuz we're literally at the last ep hah
hehe Seheon and Doyoon besties
ah Juha in the group now
kiss
idk if I wanted more of Juha/Doyoon or not like... I might've warmed up to them more? because theoretically I could like the dynamic if it's more developed
Overall:
Nobody in this drama asks before kissing lol not Doyoon, not Seheon, not the little kiss that Seheon's brother gave to sleeping Taejoon, and the other two, Juha and Taeyi, are experts in being creeps and having internalized homophobia that they direct outwardly to the guys they like as well (Seheon's brother fits here too lol). Yet, I enjoyed it a fair amount, the story was coherent, the acting was fine, I was endeared by Doyoon (is he the Omega X kid?), and the dynamics were enjoyable, if iffy on certain counts. Not super attached though.
Rating: 6/10

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
No better way to open this blog than to review a classic. Truth be told, I'm late to the party - in the 2000s I was far too busy listening to Beyoncé to pay any mind to nu metal acts. We all know late is better than never, and denying how obsessed I currently am with Hybrid Theory would be nothing short of a crime. Without much more to add, I'll dive back into the track-by-track review.
Papercuts - 8/10 Incredible album opener, and a perfect way to set the mood for what's to come; high-energy, yet inviting enough for the uninitiated. This is one of the more rap-heavy tracks, which is not at all a problem in LP's case. The highlight in this track is for sure the bridge though - a beautiful buildup, poetic lyrics and the perfect ambiance for the final chorus. Blends into the next track seamlessly.
One Step Closer - 9.5/10 A song that opens with "I cannot take this anymore" immediately gets a sympathetic reaction from me. I suppose we can all relate, in this economy. Jokes aside, this is one of my favourite cuts from the album - despite the length (or lack of thereof), it manages to capture the right amount of angst. Corny as it might seem, no one can resist a "SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU". If you think you can, you're just lying to yourself. Either way, Chester's vocals on this song have an oddly soft ring to them during the verses, in particular the first one - and oh boy does it work. It almost makes me think this is going to be a vulnerable track.
With You - 7/10 I admittedly overlooked this track a lot initially, but it's grown on me over time. The screams in the pre-chorus are visceral, raw, gritty - everything they need to be. The instrumental break before the bridge is well-placed and builds up a good amount of hype. Overall a solid track, would probably earn a higher score in a different album. But this is Hybrid Theory we're talking about, and it's bound to be shadowed by the other gems in here.
Points of Authority - 10/10 Singlehandedly my favourite song on the album, and Linkin Park's entire discography perhaps. Controversial opinion, I'm aware. The lyrics are vague enough for anyone to hate on a person of choice while singing along, which I can appreciate on a spiritual level. If you can't find the appeal in this song, just picture yourself screaming the lyrics at the top of your lungs at the face of someone who's pissed you off. Come on now, you can't deny that sounds appealing. The energy in the chorus is just unparalelled, and the rap lines are infectious enough to be sung along to on the first listen.
Crawling - 8.5/10 This song has admittedly become far worse after hearing the demo version that was released with the 20th Anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory, which is miles better than the final product. I believe this might be the best song on the album, lyrically speaking. The contrast between Chester's sweet, almost whisper-like voice in the verses, and the gut wrenching screams in the chorus is haunting. "Against my will I stand beside my own reflection" - couldn't have put it better. This may not be their strongest song in terms of composition but Chester's vocals and the lyrical content make up for it.
Runaway - 6/10 I can't say this song evokes much emotion in me. It is well-crafted, lyrics are nice enough, and the atmosphere is cool. But it pales in comparison to the rest of the album. I still listen to it anytime it comes on, it is by no means a skip (hence the slightly higher score), but it would not feel right to rate this the same as some of the other cuts. The bridge is for sure the highlight, and if I was shuffling my liked music I would for sure not skip it, because it is a high quality song after all.
By Myself - 9/10 One of the best choruses in the whole album. Only one point substracted because the verses themelves are not as strong as the rest of the song. However, the visual this song brings to mind makes this exciting to listen to everytime. Don't ask me why, but the chorus makes me mentally project myself in a car at night angirly driving home from the gas station with a can of RedBull, in the best way possible.
In the End - 10/10 So, funny story. I initially got into this song "ironically". As in, I started listening to it as a "joke". Clowning on emos or something like that, I suppose, but it quickly turned unironic. I can now recite all of the lyrics by heart. Anytime I start I cannot stop. My acquaintances are sick of me breaking into song everytime this absolute anthem gets brought up. I need urgent pyschological help. Please. This has ruined my life. I want my wife and kids back.
A Place for my Head - 7/10 I really dig the instrumental in the verses, that guitar is sick. I can't allow myself to rate this any higher for similar reasons as Runaway - the fact that this is on Hybrid Theory makes the competition far too tough. Chorus is catchy. Bridge is fucking incredible with the blood-curling screams.
Forgotten - 9/10 Much like With You, this was a late bloomer for me. Except for the fact that, when I did get into it, I got into it real hard. The chorus makes me want to go run in the wind or something, the atmosphere is legitimately incredible. It is damn near impossible not to sing along to it. "When the paper's crumpled up, it can't be perfect again." Fucking powerful, man.
A Cure for the Itch - x/x I will not be ranking interludes or intros in this album unless they feel like "songs" to a certain extent. This is a personal choice based on the fact that I simply cannot give them a fair rating for their role/purpose in an album. But I can say this is nice to listen to, and I don't skip it when it comes on.
Pushing Me Away - 8/10 Not sure I enjoy this as an album closer necessarily - but the song itself is beautiful. Some of the lyrics are a bit corny (like rhyming "frown" with "break down"), but the melody is nostalgic-sounding in a delicious and it flows well enough. The experience of finding yourself screaming along (very offkey, might I add) to the chorus is oddly uplifting. Despite the bitter lyrics, this song feels motivational. Source? I pulled it out of my ass. Deal with it.
BONUS TRACK: My December - 7.5/10 Would've rated this slightly lower if it weren't for the lyrics and Chester's haunting delivery of them. This is not the usual kind of sound you would expect from Linkin Park at this point in time, but it would not be fair to bring this into consideration for the rating considering this wasn't part of the main album in the first place. The lyrics hit close to home is all I will say. It took me a couple listens (and a decent amount of emotional turmoil) to "get it", but I got there eventually.
BONUS TRACK: High Voltage - 10/10 Every day I wake up and suffer because my physical copy of the album does not have this track on it. Where Points of Authority is my favourite, High Voltage is likely my second. I believe this is lyrically one of Mike Shinoda's best works, and would probably be one of the first tracks I'd pull out to prove someone that he's actually talented at what he does. The wordplay is incredible. The addition of Chester's short-lived bridge is very much welcome. What a banger, dude.
OVERALL: 9/10. Banger album, worth listening from start to finish everytime. I have added it to my list of "albums that permanently altered my brain chemistry".

Monday, July 8th, 2024.
How would you describe your journey so far in your 20s? It would be rather difficult to overstate it: my 20s were hell. As was the first portion of my 30s. Call it an exercise in drowning. Of surfacing occasionally, gasping for air, only to find myself repeatedly submerged beneath the waves. And when I finally woke up on some unknown shore, it felt like nothing more than a deathly dream, a last, desperate hallucination. Even so, I stumbled forward; and by degrees, I realized I was awake, alive…perhaps even okay. What failed to kill me didn't necessarily make me stronger, but it didn't break me, either. There was a new land, a new life ahead of me, beckoning me to explore it if I dared. And so I did, and so I am, and so continues this story I once thought was over.
What role does music play in your life, and are there any songs or artists that have had a significant impact on you? I often find music to be overwhelming, although to a lesser extent than in the past. There was just something about the atmosphere, the lyrics, or whatever that struck at my core or gave rise to emotions that were entirely too much to bare. Instead of being a healing thing, like it seems to be for so many others, it was like torture. These days, I can stand to listen to classical music on my drive to/from the animal shelter, as well as the (typically) classic rock station while I'm there, plus a bit of other stuff now and then. There are still songs that get to me, but I'm better at brushing them off.
As for artists that had a significant impact on me, the biggest one would probably be Kent. I listened to them obsessively in my early 20s. I'm honestly not sure what it was about them; I don't vibe with them the same way I used to, but something must have really resonated with me because they were basically all I would listen to for a while there.
Are there any specific goals or aspirations you have for your future? How do you plan to work towards them? I don't have any great ambitions. I just want to be more self-reliant and capable of supporting myself independently. I want to live in a small apartment, work at the animal shelter where I currently volunteer, and appreciate the sacred mundanity of life. Perhaps one day my scope will widen, and I will desire more for myself; but for now, simple existence feels like a blessing.
How do you prioritize self-care and maintain your mental well-being in your daily life? I stick very closely to a daily/weekly routine. I try to eat fairly healthily, and as close to "enough" as I can manage. I try to keep on top of the housecleaning. I get a good dose of socialization at the animal shelter, or at the very least, the presence of other people. And I give myself plenty of time to rest, to just be, to be nothing to anyone or anything.
What are some activities or hobbies that bring you joy and help you relax? Creating art, scrolling through Tumblr and updating my autumn blog (ephemeral-autumn), spending time in nature, listening to podcasts, vlogs, and docu-style YT videos (with some brain rot trash thrown in there as well, for good measure), reading (when I actually bother to do it), cuddling with my kitties, chatting with my dad, etc.
Have you ever faced any challenges related to mental health? How do you cope with them? Oh boy, have I ever. It's easier to cope now. I really don't know what changed. Maybe certain lessons just accumulated until they clicked. I just try to adhere to the self-care activities I mentioned above, have patience with myself, and take things one day at a time.
How do you define love and what does it mean to you personally? Asking me to define love is like asking me to define God. I just can't do it. I mean, I'm still learning how to love myself. Progress is agonizingly slow, but maybe one day, I'll finally be able to say, "I understand."
What qualities do you look for in a partner or potential significant other? Get back to me at some undetermined point in the future. I just don't feel like I'm at all ready to contemplate a serious romantic relationship. I'm not even sure I'm ready for close friendships. Acquaintances and coworkers are about all I can handle at the moment.
How do you navigate dating in the modern world, especially with the influence of technology and social media? I can't see myself ever resorting to online dating. I'd rather meet someone ~in the wild~. Maybe I'm closing myself off from meeting a potential soulmate, but honestly, the near equivalent to blind dating has never really been my thing. When it comes to the influence of tech and social media in general, well, idk. I guess I'll navigate it the same way I do the rest of life, seeing as it's the water we're all swimming in at this point.
What are your thoughts on marriage and starting a family? Is it something you envision for yourself? Despite everything I've said above, there is still part of me that hopes for a life-long partner. However, children are absolutely out of the question.
How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance and prevent burnout? I don't have a job-job. I only volunteer part time, approximately 20hrs a week, so I have a lot of time to myself. Even so, it's still a bit difficult to manage my energy levels, which are nothing like normal, so I do have to balance it out with housework, errands, free time, sleep, etc.
Are there any specific skills or areas of knowledge you would like to develop or improve upon? I want to get better at social interactions and become capable of truly being myself in the presence of others. And other things as well, but those things feel more general as opposed to super specific. Just stuff I enjoy learning about, etc.
How do you handle setbacks or failures and use them as opportunities for growth? I just try to look at everything like a lesson or a test. Instead of thinking "woe is me," I try to focus on what I can learn from a given experience.
How do you stay connected with your friends and loved ones despite the demands of adult life? Seeing as I'm not really a fully-fledged "adult" in terms of responsibilities, independence, etc…I can't say.
Are there any specific travel destinations or experiences you hope to explore in the future? Japan is at the top of the list. I would also love a whirlwind tour of all the ancient cities, monuments, megaliths, cathedrals, cave paintings, etc. And it's long been a dream of mine to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail; however, with how much has likely changed over the years, grown, modernized, closed in, etc…who knows. Maybe it won't be like the adventure I'm expecting. Maybe I'm looking for something that no longer exists as it did in the past.
How do you navigate and make decisions about your career path and professional growth? I just know I want to work at the animal shelter for the rest of my life. Making that work financially, though…considering it's only a minimum wage job…ugh. I'll figure it out somehow. Maybe I'll find some sort of side gig that makes it feasible, or I'll learn to live very frugally.
What are some of your favorite ways to give back to your community or contribute to causes you care about? Volunteering.
How do you envision your life in the next five years, and what steps are you taking to make that vision a reality? Can't say I have a five-year plan or anything of the sort. I'm just going to try to keep building upon and expanding the life I have, and hopefully that will get me somewhere good enough.

Svu and law and order crossover I wrote something similar like this on my selfship blog but this is more updated? I don't know recent? I wrote this all on tumblr and I don't want to copy and paste it one by one onto docs then onto my other blog.
So here it stays
I don't really write. But I suddenly got a bunch of inspiration to.
Self insert and Nolan Price/Las.(me)
I like Nolan Price okay. He's pretty. Hugh Dancy is my boy.
~~~~~~~~~
Las hummed as she made her way to Benson' s office coffee's in hand.
"Oh, Carisi" Las smiled as she put down all the coffee she brought back. "I brought you coffee. Still milk and 2 sugar?"
Carisi smiled, "oh yeah, and thanks Las. I missed this."
"What me bringing you your coffee?"
"Being here. It's nice. Oh Las. I saw you with Ada Price the other day. What were you doing with that guy?"
"Ah, well. Benson's sending me off to Mccoy. And I was meeting Mr. Price."
"Wait. You're sending her off to Mccoy?" Carisi frowned.
"I thought, he needed an assistant. And I can handle myself for a week or 2."
~~~~~~
Benson cannot handle Las away for 2 days. She's lost papers. Forgotten notes. Didn't remember her coffee order. Las knew it hell she knew everyone's orders.
~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~
"I don't need you." Mccoy said to Las.
"Ex-excuse me? Sir? I was assigned to you I can't just go back-"
"I didn't finish. I don't need you. But. I have an ada who could use an assistant. Do you know ada price?"
"I met a few days ago. He seemed okay."
"Well, you're working for him now. If he tries to talk his way out of this, say it's Mccoy's orders."
"Okay."
"Now go. I'll see you later. Actually I'll show you to his office."
~~~~~~
"Oh, Miss its good to see you again." Nolan smiled at Las who was followed by Mccoy.
"Oh. Sir. Hello-"
"Nolan. Call me Mccoy. Anyways. This here. Is Las. She was assigned to be my assistant. By Captain Benson. She'll be here 2 weeks. I don't need an assistant though. So I'm handing her to you my most capable laywer. I know you'll work great together. I'll be going."
"But Mccoy I don't need a-"
"Cmon Nolan. I need you to do this for me. We can't just send her back to Captain Benson. She's here and she's Your assistant starting now. That's an order."
And with that Mccoy was gone.
Las smiled at Nolan. "I'm sorry. I'm just supposed to be here-"
"That's okay. I can work with this. Do you want coffee?"
"Huh?"
"Coffee. I'm going to get some. Would you like to join me?"
"Sure."
So Las memorized Nolan's coffee drink, got a nice tea and Nolan told her having her around might not be so bad. He's got cases and he sometimes loses paperwork.
"Now you can have my card. I'll pay for the drinks." Nolan said matter of factly. Las frowned.
"No that's okay. I can pay for them myse-"
"No. You're my assistant. I'm paying for my own stuff and for you. I can afford it. Don't worry. Now I need you to file these bunch of papers. While I go over this case."
"Okay."
So las ended up spending the afternoon organizing papers into files and files into categories, while Mr. Price sat at his desk going through his latest case. Muttering to himself every once in awhile. To be fair las expected this. Benson told her ada's had so much paper work. And if Las went to grab him a cup of coffee every once in a while when he looked like he needed it he stared at her confused the first few times. Then slowly came around to expect it.
"Having you around isn't so bad." He mumbled to himself as Las went back to her organizing. Price felt a little thump in his chest everytime Las smiled at him.
"Did you say something?" Las asked flashing him a smile as she began organizing his law books.
"No, no. Are you hungry? I don't know about you. But I'm getting there. How about we take a break? Go grab a bite?"
"Okay. I don't have any idea what to get though?" Las wasn't familiar with this area the law offices were a little ways from svu nit too far but enough to be confused.
"I know a place down the block, I'll show you."
~~~~~~~~
"Hey finn?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you go pick up Las at the ada's office. I wanted to bring her home, I wanted to ask how her first day working for Mccoy was going."
"Yeah I can-"
"Mccoy? Las isn't working for Mccoy." Carisi said as he put his briefcase on Bensons desk.
"I lent her to Mccoy. She's supposed to be-"
"Mccoy said he didn't need an assistant. Gave her to one of his ada's."
"Can we not talk about Las like she's property." Benson frowned.
"Sorry. But Mccoy lended his new assistant to ada Price if I'm correct."
"Price I know that name."
"Hot shot prosecutor. Brown hair, cute eyes."
"Cute eyes?" Finn chuckled
"Well that's what I hear from my coworkers " Carisi chuckled. "the one's that work with me. He's cute. Pretty. Handsome. Single. i don't know. I just know he's a good prosecutor, wins cases. But he usually keeps to himself."
"Oh great." Benson sighed. "Now I gotta worry about Las for 2 weeks."
"He's not a ladies man Benson. He's just a quiet guy who's a damn good laywer. Looks aside. Las probably won't fall for him. She's professional like that."
"I'm not entirely worried about las. I'm worried about him. Las is naive she's overly affectionate, nice, very giving. Anyone would fall for that. Hell she's won over our whole squad."
"She's won over Stabler, Amaro, hell even munch." Finn chuckled. "Don't worry, Liv. Maybe Las will win over this guy, and we can have a backup attorney."
"Hey. I'm your ada. I know svu better than any of those hot shots." Carisi smiled.
"Oh. Liv do you still want me to get her?" Finn asked.
"She's not there." Carisi chimed in. "Saw her heading somewhere with Price right as I was leaving. Something about food?"
"That's it we need her back!" Benson shouted, standing from her seat. "I'm gonna talk to Mccoy and get her back."
"Whoa whoa, wait a sec Liv. What if Las found herself someone nice? We'd all like that. Especially after Stone left. She could use some happiness right?" Finn shrugged "I'd like to see her happy. And I know you would too. Let's wait this out. If Las needs our help, she'll ask us, and we can step in. But for now. Let's see where it goes."
