Hello I mcyt fandom-ified la Team du Lundi members and wrote a shit ton of text about it

After exhausting myself on trying to catch up on the current QSMP lore I got a sudden craving for a more familiar and fast paced kind of minecraft content and ended up rewatching all the Team du Lundi's SMP best of's I could find

And while doing so with my brain still hazed in fandom brainrot, I started picking up on minor details or info the players casually dropped, and drew parallels to the French speakers' QSMP counterparts This is going to be a long wordy post I don't even know what I am rambling about and for. Three things you need to be aware of about la Team du Lundi before reading :

Baghera, Antoine and Etoiles are the only QSMP players that are part of la Team du Lundi

As far as I remember the only two elements that suggest that la Team du Lundi's SMP could be canon to QSMP are Antoine being pressured into building another Tower of Shit, and Baghera's infamous fountain being mentioned when she was asked if her character remembers anything from her past before the island

La Team du Lundi's SMP was NOT a roleplaying server, it was just a private survival server for a small circle of friends casually playing together. So whenever I quote someone in this specific post, it is the streamer : there is no character other than the persona the streamer is usually showing on stream, but I just thought it would be fun to interpret certain situations while keeping in mind the QSMP lore. And here goes :

Baghera claims that when she was a kid she strongly believed that she could breathe underwater. The others joke about her having fins

Antoine jokingly tells Baghera he doesn’t need oxygen at all

Antoine claims he will still be alive thousands of years forwards

Antoine’s voice shifts when he wants to appear creepy

Baghera built an aquarium at her place, then helped Antoine build one at his tower, then built a giant swimming pool, then a fountain, then a waterslide- do you see a theme ?

Baghera knows that her skin is actually that of a chick and not a duckling, and calls it so here

Chat said that Baghera has a middle child syndrome, justifying that she bullies Angle Droit because Etoiles bullies her in the first place (Etoiles has also called her « little sister » in a derogatory way)

Etoiles has repeatedly asked people to play Valorant with him at least once

Here's a clip of Etoiles getting languaged in french and owing "a gifted sub in the swear jar"

Etoiles is regularly refered to as "the warrior"

Etoiles guided the whole group during an expedition to the End and he was literally glowing doing so (enchanted arrows effect) Everyone called him "the guide"

Baghera was the one who gave the final blow to the Enderdragon (and died from magic right after)

Etoiles spent most of his time adventuring in order to bring stuff and gear back to everyone for their builds

Etoiles asked Aypierre for help in order to design a redstone door for his cave which could only open upon solving a puzzle (which was egg & arrow related) (Aypierre was not a member of the server)

Etoiles built a nightclub with the walls and ceiling covered in wardenblocks making it look like a starry sky. He also rehomed Allays holding golden apples inside claiming them to be the souls working for him and that they lived there peacefuly

Etoiles jokingly talks about Antoine acting jealous and violent towards him because Etoiles told him he wanted to go and visit Kameto (who also was not a member of the server)

Baghera (along with Horty) had a rivalry with Joueur du Grenier (host of the server with admin powers) after he decided to build a massive parking lot right next to their house. They countered by covering the whole thing with dirt, followed by JDG building a factory and the two parties went back and forth. Baghera argued that it was stupid because they didnt even have cars to begin with (which is a sentence she reused when talking about Forever's roads) Also she tells JDG that he could've built a seaport instead, which makes JDG contemplate the thought of building an airport (and though he ended up never building it, I am side eyeing the French's plane crash)

At some point JDG wonders about what a roleplaying minecraft server would look like (RPZ 2), to which Baghera replies that she has a hard time picturing the thing "We'd all just build things you see ? I don't think we'd create stories, we would all just be like "I'm a builder, ah you too ? Well awesome, builders, cool"" and I find this to be hilariously ironic (fun fact : Baghera had no idea that QSMP was a roleplaying server when she first joined and often claims she would've taken a different approach with her character had she known right off the gate)

As I was finishing to write this down, these fuckers (/lh) decided to host a closure night for the server as they've never really officially did it, everyone just sort of deserted the server after a while. Baghera, Etoiles and Antoine kept referring to QSMP throughout the night, mostly talking about how weird it felt without mods. Among other meta commentary things

They mentionned Cellbit and Bad multiple times as the group was trying to solve enigmas. Antoine talked about "the cultural sharing" between communities as he taught insults to each others with Mike, Roier and Maximus in their respective languages Multiple more players were namedropped (including eggs) while Antoine was talking about how the server functions

Yes, Baghera and Etoiles kept their QSMP skins. Etoiles with his code corrupted purgatory one, and Baghera with her fading pink disheveled hair (with the addition of her cubito wearing Horty's merch)

Baghera admits that going back to this small familiar vanilla server feels like coming back home to your family during the holidays

Team du Lundi's cameos in QSMP :

Though Pomme has never canonically met JDG (even though most of her parents have talked about him to her at least once), she occasionaly breaks the 4th wall to refer to him. She once compared one of BBH's "vacation" flower shirts with his, and when Foolish and Bad asked her to elaborate (obviously not getting the reference) she proceeded to play JDG's music theme with the flute instead (Also I really feel the need to once more point out how mindblowing it is for your average french speaking viewer to have JDG's intro theme being added to the mod they use in the QSMP because of how anchored it is within french internet pop culture. Like this shit has been existing for 14 fucking years, it's part of the childhood of a lot of us, so to find a clip of British hardcore player Philza peacefuly listening to Mexican egg admin Tallulah play this theme on her flute feels like a multiverse fever dream)

Horty has been on Quesadilla Island through cc!Baghera's account, but neither of them really wanted to justify it RP wise. Baghera just wanted to give her best friend a tour of the island. Horty only got to meet Richarlyson who gave her a tour of Cellbit's castle and made her pick a room (she chose Chaos). She also chatted with Etoiles who tagged along for a bit and (this is obviously justified by it being a one-shot out of roleplay filler episode kind of night) they both already knew each other and were on friendly enough terms to bicker with one another Also she was part of the French speakers Quackity reached out to to invite on the server, but she had to decline because she was very busy at that time (and also not interested) Also also she was Baghera's teammate for that Formula 4 event, and Baghera has discussed it and showed pictures to a couple of islanders, including Richas who was very hyped about it

Another player the viewers were hoping to see on Quackity's server is Mynthos. He exists within the server with the picture of him that hangs in Pomme's art gallery, the cursed animation video that used to play in La France, as well as with Aypierre's health potion factory that bears his name

Angle Droit and Zerator are sometimes namedropped when the French speakers talk with their chat. Angle Droit frequently raids Baghera's and Antoine's streams, and though it has never been confirmed, a lot of viewers theorized that she was the +1 player Baghera and Etoiles wanted to invite on the server had they won the elections.

As for Zera, Etoiles went AFK on QSMP a couple of times in order to test some of Zerator's TrackMania maps (which he later discussed with Pac). I also remember a very trivial conversation Etoiles had with Mouse and Aypierre where he laughed about hurting his back very badly after carrying a fellow streamer during a caritative event, said event was hosted by Zerator (he's also the one judging them with concern from his desk)

Ryu Number Chart Update: Darksiders

Here's a potential puzzler for you. Is Death death? (Stick with me for a moment here, okay?)

For some context, in the Darksiders franchise, Death—one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—is a major character. Most media where the Horsemen are a Thing tend to have Death (the horsemen) be the same character as the general personification of death, just specifically doing the Horseman thing at the moment. Good Omens goes with this interpretation, if I remember Good Omens right, which I very much might not. It's been a while.

In Darksiders, however, the Four Horsemen are, uh, cosmologically complicated. Specifically, they're Nephilim—fusions of demons and angels yes I know that's not what nephilim are supposed to be I didn't make this game—who rebelled against the Charred Council (a mysterious body who nebulously keep the balance somehow; it's really not clear) and were in turn eradicated by the only four nephilim who sided with the Council. These four became the Horsemen, and were subsequently sent out as the Council's underlings whenever a Real Big Issue required that sort of response. In the four games in the Darksiders series, there's approximately one line that could maybe with some creativity and also if you looked at it sideways be interpreted as the Horseman Death being also Death in general, but... Nah, I dunno, man.

Anyway, that's why "Death/Grim Reaper" and "Death (Horseman)" now have their own respective points in The Chart. Don't at me.

Not being able to use the Grim Reaper skin from Minecraft to hop between Ryu and whichever Darksiders character you want is a bummer, admittedly.

Luckily, Lilith is a Marvel character.

Funny thing—Usiel (often seen spelled "Uziel" or "Uzziel") is usually depicted as either a fallen angel, or a demon. There are a few sources that put him on the side of being a good'un, though, so this portrayal is cromulent enough. I mean, as cromulent as anything from Darksiders can be in relation to varying and contradictory Judeo-Christian tradition.

(Per game lore, a bunch of pseudo-Celtic-Norsey Old Ones are hanging out in a side dimension or something. I dunno, man. Darksiders II was weird.)

Lilith appears in Darksiders II and Darksiders III, which is nice if you're trying to reach a character from Darksiders II and Darksiders III, but less so if you're working with the original Darksiders or Darksiders Genesis.

That's alright, though. Turns out the Four Horsemen are up and summonable in Scribblenauts Unlimited:

... Y'know, I really do think there ought to be a quicker path to Azrael that exists somewhere in the Wide Wide World Of Video Games, but if there is, it's not on The Chart at the moment, so it doesn't exist. Don't at me.

Or actually, do at me. Then I can put that game on The Chart, too, if it doesn't give my arbitrary taxonomy a tummyache.

Incidentally, because I read up on angels a whole lot going through these games and if I can't Show My Work on my own blog where else am I gonna do it: Here's a Thing.

You might assume that some Final-Fantasy-style hinkiness is afoot—that the creators of Darksiders Genesis named their characters after mythological figures that are thematically similar but ultimately unrelated (go on, try to convince me that any incarnation of Final Fantasy's Leviathan is the same one from the Book of Job) (Please do not actually do this)—but it turns out we can heap the blame on one dude in particular: John Milton.

That's right, it's all Paradise Lost's fault. Turns out that according to Miltonic lore, Moloch, Astarte, and Dagon were originally angels, but then joined with Satan in his rebellion, fell, and subsequently played as gods to deceive mankind. Now, is it a little iffy that Milton took a bunch of non-Christian deities and went "yeah, these were demons all along"?

Most def. He was following in well-established Christian tradition, though. Ba'al-Zebub was a deity of the Philistines, while Belphegor comes from the deity worshipped by Moabites at the mountain peak of Peor, biblically referred to as "Ba'al-pe'or." Astaroth is another one that comes from Astarte. And of course, the less said about Baphomet, the better.

All of this is a long-winded way of saying that no, I'm not counting this Dagon as the Syrian one. Or the Lovecraftian one, for that matter.

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?

there are two particular scenes in Khalan's Journal that always make me laugh whenever I read them again. the first one is when Aya steals Antony's llama and claims it as her own, and the other is when Aya stuffs some turtles into a boat and Khalan goes on a secret rescue mission in the middle of the night to free them, but almost gets attacked by monsters in the process xD I feel like I'm typically not very good at writing funny scenes, so those two have always stuck out a lot imo.

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

hmm... sometimes? it depends on the tone of the scene. if I do end up listening to anything while I write, it's most likely the Hollow Knight menu theme on loop, or the Resting Grounds theme (from the same game). HK just has some really good somber vibes that tend to accurately pinpoint the Feel I wanna write, most of the time. as for songs that I've had on loop lately? that's a bit different and not really something tied to writing, per se. but the one I keep going back to in general is Reversible Campaign by DECO*27.

❌ What's a trope you will never write?

enemies-to-lovers. I'm not really a fan of a lot of romance tropes in general but that one is a personal pet peeve of mine. something about it just always felt wrong to me idk.

🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?

uhhh, depends on the story or what details are involved? I'd probably say no for the most part. I did a lot more research in the past when my stories were heavily dependent on other fiction (especially with the early Minecraft stuff), but most of what I write about now is based on my own worldbuilding ideas that I've had to come up with from scratch. so I just kinda wing it and hope for the best. ^^;

if I do need specific info for something tho, then I'll look it up. usually in regards to language-related stuff. but it's hard to know if I'm ever accurate anyway because search engines online (and google translate) aren't that reliable and I never know if a particular article or site is actually informational or not. I do my best, regardless :'0

Stayed up till 2:30 writing this banger

I have an old social media, where I said things I didn't mean as a call for help. I didn't want pity, I wanted a knight in shining armor to save me. I wanted an answer - a meaning, anything. I didn't know god then. I knew he might exist but I didn't conceptualize anything relating to him having any more purpose than what my life already had, nothing. I wanted a single hope any idea which meant anything at all - a mental salvation if you will. Over the years those calls for help become more boisterous, I typed many things that haunt me to my core because they don't sound like me and they don't feel like me. There was a single person, with a minimal emotional connection, who became my emotional baggage dump every, single day - and then one day I never spoke to them again.

Then I found purposes - every few months I had a Minecraft project to help someone with, to pour my soul into to ultimately be abandoned despite my pleas. This went on many, many times. I began to learn more about my God, this concept of hope was so tangible, it was a deep cut defense against the nihilism in my heart. A bit before that, I found love, I found someone. I had found love in earlier relationships, but it was not a healthy kind of love. This love too, became complicated in a peculiar way. I didn't particularly idealize this course of action in the past, but it all came to ahead when I learned more of the ideas that come in the package deal of Christian faith. I had very recently, escalated my interaction of this kind, this nature of deep questionability. My heart was torn and distraught, thrown between honestly and negotiation. I had no doubts at the time of my god, at least not significant doubts. I researched for hours. I looked at the same videos over and over trying to tell myself, this was how it was, this is acceptable, this works this can stay how it is, all I have to do is change this… I desperately avoided channels I had previously found heavily comforting - which could insinuate I could not keep things the same way they where, even providing it went down to being pg. For maybe over a month, I scavenged and repeated and avoided for hours, and hours, and hours on end. Whenever the thought even emerged in my mind there was no greater drive than to know then to truly know what I should do. What denomination? Who was speaking, why where they saying it? I didn't care. And when I tried to settle for one answer, there was this feeling unlike ever before, this deep, deep conviction in my heart, my soul, it was everywhere and undeniable. The feeling was no more less than the words on the pages and the thoughts in my mind. I slowly tried reasoning with the feeling, I bargained and pleaded with God to keep something in the end, to change the words, change the motives, change the feelings, change all the technicalities. Although I had perhaps consciously avoided arguments to the contrary, this innate determination within me remained deeply unconvinced by the words I would settle with for my comfort. As such, there was no comfort. The feeling persisted and no other topic was an option in my mind. One time I prayed in the bathroom, and I heard numbers for something in the bible in my head. I rushed to my computer only to realize it was not far at all from what was one of the few guiding passages relevant to my predicament, if I can recall maybe less than 5 sentences away. Could it just be a coincidence? (At this point, I honestly cannot say.) I felt I could not live without them. (I have been tearing up so, so so much while writing this, literally a waterfall.) He never stopped caring about me ever for all those years, and years. When I was first made aware of this theological predicament I had set up specific boundaries about what we would talk about, but after everything I reiterated that they would be permanent…

At this point, anyone who knows facts about me and my personality can probably cut through my vagueness. It probably shouldn't surprise you why I spoke like this, am I not just saving face? Why discuss something so private, so controversial in such an open manner? I think such worries can be beaten out of a person after enough things happen in your life, hiding only delays the inevitable.

A few months later, after the vast majority of my conviction and strife settled down...

One thing occurred that seemed so more inconspicuous than the rest of my complications, a matter of terminology - was ultimately the final line I had to draw. I wept and cried but as I failed to grasp at the words he understood what I was trying to say. With that, we were not lovers for life, but platonic friends. I still love him/her, albeit the words have different insinuations now that we both agree upon. There is still not one person who matters more to me than them.

This is not an apology, I am not asking for your forgiveness or your pity. (Maybe your pity…) I just can't keep it all silent, ignored, frozen in the darkness of memories best left forgotten. There is no forgetting, that was who I was. I did everything I had wrote, and no one else did anything I had written about.

Perhaps this is what artistic intuition truly is, the words appear in your mind from magic and they become so real they can make the feelings real to others. That is at least, the plan of writing about your life - that others might come to understand who you are and what you have become. Am I destroyed, am I heartbroken? Am I indoctrinated, am I a pathetic excuse for a human being? There exist many plausible frameworks, wherein each of these are true - and in that sense they are all equally worth considering.

BEAR WITH ME

“Down here again?” Scar asks as he steps into the Sandcastle’s cellar, sandstone and red sandstone alike spread along the walls somewhat haphazardly. He can clearly see the point where Grian ran out of the red variety and started using the standard one, a third of the way along the walls, the bottom dark and the rest of it pale in the lamps hung on the ceiling. There’s even a stray trio of cobblestone blocks in one corner of the floor; down here, there’s no façade to put up.

It’s not dark down here, just shadowy. And cool; much cooler than above during the day, which it is right now, the sun searing above in the cloudless sky. That’s the reason Grian is down here, sat on the edge of the water pool they placed in the middle, far enough away from the chests that it poses no threat of slipping. (Scar, of course, has managed to do so anyway.) His bare feet are in the water – it’s not their drinking water, it’s here for this purpose only – and he looks distinctly… wilted, slumping where he’s sat and skimming his fingers absently across the surface of the small pool, eighteen blocks of water in a three by three square, two blocks deep.

“Where else?” Grian mumbles. He raises his wet hands to his face, palming it and running his fingers through his hair. There are water droplets on his cheeks, on his eyelashes, dripping from his fringe, and Scar frowns at how tired he sounds. Grian’s ears flick. “It’s just… too hot.”

Scar steps fully into the basement and comes to Grian’s side, pulling off his boots and dipping his legs into the water as well as he sits down next to his partner. “You weren’t made for this heat,” he says. They’ve figured that out by now, even if the mob Grian is a hybrid of is not anywhere inside the borders of their world and thus completely unknown to them. I’m sorry, this whole desert thing was my idea, Scar thinks to say, but he knows that Grian would just get annoyed at that, as he does whenever anything close to the sentiment is breached, so he doesn’t.

“I just have to bear it,” Grian says, like if he doesn’t he’s failed – himself, Scar, does it really matter? Scar wants to shake him a bit, tell him that his suffering isn’t proof of his strength, but Grian’s looking far too exhausted to get into a topic like that right now, so he lets it go. “I’m dealing,” Grian goes on stubbornly. “Just bear with me.”

The roots of Grian’s hair is growing in pale, paler than the blond-brown of the rest. Dye, maybe? Scar squints at it in the light from above. It’s white-ish, matching the little round ears and cute button of a tail Grian has, poking out the back of his trousers. Whatever the reason Grian has for dyeing his hair, they’ve both forgotten it now, if Scar ever knew in the first place. “It’s not a problem,” Scar replies. “It really isn’t.”

“Void, what I wouldn’t give for some ice,” Grian groans, abandoning sitting altogether and lying back on the cold stone floor instead. Then he blinks up at the ceiling. “What the heck is ice?” he mutters.

“Don’t know,” Scar says. “But I think it’s cold.” He can feel his fingers grow chilled in some form of shadow memory, the sensation stark on his warm hands. It’s so cold it’s almost burning, and for some reason Scar feels – sticky? Sort of. Like this ice thing can abrade skin when handling it, or letting it go, or something like that.

“When’s sunset?” Grian asks. He squeezes his eyes tightly closed against what Scar knows to be a bad headache, caused by the heat outside. Grian’s so sensitive to it, far more than Scar.

“Few hours,” Scar says, apologetically. Some days, he counts them down, eager to see the return of Grian from below, climbing up the steps and into the cold night, the moon and stars glistening on his hair and skin. At night, he’s like a different person, and Scar loves it. “We can move the beds down here, you know. So you can sleep during the day.”

Grian shakes his head, grimacing as that motion worsens his headache. “No, don’t, I don’t want to be underground all the time. I just – sorry, Scar. I’m just really not made for deserts.”

Don’t be sorry, comes to Scar’s tongue. He doesn’t say it. Neither does he say, We can move, because as nice as that sentiment is, they really can’t. Not now, when the lines have already been drawn, and drawn so deeply. He wishes, and he’s sure Grian does too, that they’d known more about Grian’s biology before they set up shop in the desert. But it’s too late for regrets.

Scar reaches out and runs a hand through Grian’s soft hair. His companion rumbles in his chest at the touch. “We’ll get through all this together, you’ll see,” Scar says instead. “Game’s not over yet.”

Grian reaches blindly out, intertwining his fingers with Scar’s other hand. His blunt claws are large but non-retractable, and by now Scar’s deft enough to prevent them from accidently cutting into his skin. He’s seen zombies and skeletons not nearly so lucky, though, and he knows that Grian has a lot of upper body strength, enough to tear a mob apart with his bare hands.

Scar runs his thumb over Grian’s fingers, the two of them sitting in companionable silence, and thinks about that strength used against him. It’s kind of terrifying, kind of electrifying, but Scar knows – knows – that it’ll be both, by the end. 

But here, Grian is gentle, and Scar is gentle, and, for now, that will be enough.

The Griefers Playing Minecraft

I decided to make a little sequel to this post after wandering around for like an hour looking for cacti (spoiler: I didn't find any) and I wanted to experience the lovelies once again. It's gonna have the same basic beginnings as the first post but I don't feel like writing it all out. I'm lazy and tired deal with it

🐇Tulsi Ain🐇

Redstone specialist. She makes every type of farm, all the grinders, and it's all so efficient. She makes me jealous cuz I can't do shit

She steals everything from the villagers lol, but she levels up the traders to their highest level. She probably traps them in boxes or something so she doesn't have to track them down all the time

She has these huge farms of animals, mainly cows, so she can get leather to make books, to make bookshelves, to make an effective enchanting table. She puts so many enchantments on her tools

She named a diamond enchanted sword Zenith...........my darling...............

She tries to capture the bunnies and make a little bunny pen. She gets mad when they keep jumping away. Slippery little fuckers

In terms of a house, she leans more to stone. Polished stone and bricks with cobblestone and mossy bricks dotted around as accents. Of course, everything is redstoned and automated

She spends a lot more time on Minecraft than she'd like to admit, but she likes it and it's fun shut up

I feel like she wouldn't mind being on some sort of roleplaying server, or somewhere she can have a job like a blacksmith and get paid in ores and live a life in a nice little village

She makes a skin that looks like her.......with the wittle bunny ears.........and her apron with a little oil stain on it, just like her real life one..................

She would make tutorials on YouTube for redstone and how to make the farms and stuff. She wants to help people learn

She loves fighting the monsters! She likes jumping into dark caves or the Nether or the End and just beating the shit out of all of them

She's not that good at fighting at first but shhhh no one else must know

Crossbow is her main long range weapon, it packs more of a punch than a normal bow, along with the magic arrows. Other than that, she uses an iron sword cuz it looks most like her real life swords

She defends villages from pillagers and takes over their outpost when they're all dead. Actually she just defends a village in general. Not for the villagers but for the XP and stuff. Definitely not for the villagers /src

If she does make a house of her own, which she probably won't, she'd use dark oak and spruce. Nice comfy and dark feeling, just like her :3

She tames wolves and brings them along on her journeys. She takes great care to make sure they're healthy and safe. She's sad for a week when one of them dies but will deny any relation to the stupid game you showed her

You know she's a softie at heart of course :3

She wanders around looking for loot--she fishes a lot to feed the dolphins to guide her, she looks for ruined Nether portals, she looks for the spooky mansions cuz sometimes they have loot, anything you can think of

(btw have they gotten rid of the jungle temple things cuz I haven't seen one in years and idk if it's bad luck or if they're just gone)

If she got invited to be like a town protector or a mercenary or something on a roleplay server by Tulsi or Lucan, she'll join, but she still prefers to play by herself

She'll get really focused on it and if you come in and ask her a question she'll jump and fall off the cliff face she was trying to navigate. She throws the phone at you and you don't even know what you did wrong

He likes building! He likes making cool things! I like to think he has a secret eye for design so he doesn't need to look at too many tutorials to make things look cool

He audibly gasps whenever he sees a cute mob. Pandas, polar bears, foxes, the itty bitty kibby cats, bees

Listen, he's not a cottagecore kinda guy, but.....he will make a house in a flower field near a beehive because he thinks it's cool

He might try to make a little town in creative mode first and make sure it has all the supplies he needs so he can switch it to survival and live in comfort :3

He'd also play on the same roleplay server as Tulsi! He'd probably be an architect and get paid big bucks (aka stacks of emeralds) to make new buildings for people with new roles

He doesn't understand potions or redstone lol. It just doesn't click with him. He's a smart guy in general don't get me wrong but he just doesn't understand it

Ooooh and banners! He likes making cool banners and hanging them on the outside of houses and using them as waypoints and stuff. Those he does have to follow a few tutorials tho cuz it can be confusing with the layering and stuff

He loves taming animals and will not hide his sadness like Elowen does when one of his wolves dies

He'd also like the allays but when he frees them he just gives them a random item so they don't fly off and it's like...a piece of andesite and he can't figure out how to give them a new item so it never gets to do its job

He loves that you introduced him to this game cuz now he associates it with you, who he also loves! He's such a puppy please I love him--

Anyways, he's not the best at what you would consider the essentials at Minecraft. He can't make cool buildings like Lucan without a strict tutorial, he doesn't understand redstone like Tulsi does, and he gets shit on by hostile mobs cuz he tends to just run headfirst towards them (blame the bull instincts)

But you know what he is good at? Farming

He has these big sprawling farms that spread out across the plains, or he has the cool terrace farms, either way they're really cool

He grows a lot of crops and he knows all of the most efficient layouts for all the crops cuz he is the Plant Dad and that is canon

He also keeps a bunch of livestock and somehow has the best luck with the chicken eggs (even though he keeps accidentally hitting the chickens with them lol)

He tames horses and names them after the people who are important to him... white and black one named Sage....a ginger one named Lucan.....a brown one named Tulsi......he loves them all and I love him

He doesn't go mining often enough to find rare ores cuz he spends most of his time checking on his crops, so all of his tools are iron

He also won't admit it but he doesn't like going into caves.....he enters one, hears a cave noise, stops, and turns right the fuck around XD he's not about to deal with that

Really the only way he gets rare stuff is by getting paid in the server. He doesn't wanna venture out too far

Totally the type of person to connect to random Bluetooth speakers, just to play minecraft parody songs or sound effects.

Idk why, but they give off CaptianSparklez fan vibes.

Sometimes when they feel like being a nuisance, they hide small Bluetooth speakers around.

It’s not a waste of resources for them.

In an attempt to waste Leshys time, they play bird chirping. Specifically ones that are not native to the area they are in. Out of curiosity, Leshy spends at least ten minutes looking around before eventually giving up.

It’s interesting to watch.

They are also the type of person to connect to random peoples airdrop, just to send cursed images.

Personal favourite being Garfield related pictures.

They have managed to get a few people to gasp out loud.

Even got Grimora to clutch her pearls.

They like to make their own cursed images. It is for this reason, they have photoshop.

Despite being able to pay for it, they have pirated their copy.

They do not care about other large corporations losing money.

But they have other uses for photoshop.

Whenever the other Scrybes piss them off, they post edited photos of them. The change isn’t really big, but they manage to make it unsettling.

They always be sure use anonymous accounts and VPNs so they don’t get caught.

They have been confronted online multiple times, but they just troll them back in response.

The Queercoding of Pinky and the Brain

This originally was just me infodumping to my friends on discord, but I decided it might be interesting to some people on here, so I polished it up and made it an actual essay lmao

To start, we’re going to break this into 2 sections -- the relationship between the mice, and Pinky’s relationship with gender, because queercoding doesn’t just mean gay!

For a 90′s show, Pinky and the Brain (and its mother show, Animaniacs) was very progressive for its time! But there were still lots of things that they couldn’t slip by censors, and thus, that’s where we have to read between the lines. And that is something I wanted to clarify here before we dive in, the actual meaning of queercoding. It’s NOT the same as queerbaiting. Queerbaiting is when the people producing certain media purposefully dangle the possibility of queer representation to lure in audiences (most prominent examples are BBC Sherlock, Riverdale, and Supernatural I GUESS? who knows abt that last one anymore), but never follow through, purely for profit. Queercoding is when media producers WANT to write in queer representation, but can’t, usually because the censors won’t let them. So, they must resort to subtext. (example: the policemen from Gravity Falls) It could also be unintentional, simply assigning certain characteristics associated with the LGBT community to characters. (example: Bugs Bunny, many Disney villains) Either way, it heavily relies on the audience picking up subtext, but whether it’s malicious or not varies, depending on the media. Bugs Bunny is an example of positive accidental queercoding, while a lot of Disney villains are negative examples.

Now, to actually discuss the gay little mice! Pinky and the Brain, whether it be intentional or not (based off comments from Maurice LaMarche, Rob Paulsen, and Tom Ruegger, signs strongly point to intentional, but it’s never been explicitly confirmed), is an example of positive queercoding.

There are many moments that I could pick out to discuss here, but we’ll start with some VERY on the nose gay metaphors. 

Remember Romy? If you don’t, that’s their actual biological son! Romy came about due to a cloning accident, where their DNA got combined and spat him out. 

There’s SO many things I could say about Romy. Every appearance he makes has an overarching gay metaphor as the plot. His first appearance in the episode Brinky (yeah it’s literally titled their ship name), it deals with his dads (WHICH I ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT, he DOES call them both dad, and they do both call him their son) disapproving of the fact that he wants to leave home and not follow in their footsteps of taking over the world. Brain even goes as far as disowning him whenever he tells him, which is certainly something a lot of queer people can unfortunately relate to. Also seen a lot in this episode is Pinky and Brain arguing even more than a married couple than usual, which pushes Romy away even further. Later, when Romy eventually does leave, and Brain starts to regret chasing him away, he tries desperately to reach out to him, but Romy doesn’t want anything to do with him. They end up tracking him down to an apartment building, where Romy is now living with his human girlfriend. When questioned about their relationship, the girlfriend, named Bunny, goes off on a tangent about how people shouldn’t judge others based on labels or relationships (hello?), and that Brain needs to be more tolerant. Brain apologizes and Romy forgives him. Happy ending.

Romy’s only other appearance is in the comics. Essentially, the plot of this one is that Brain wants to become the president of the local high school’s PTA, but he needs Romy’s help to make it look like he has a normal home life. He also enlists the help of Billie, the obligatory Woman introduced to make sure Brain doesn’t look as gay as he actually is, that he has a crush on. She pretends to be his girlfriend, and Pinky pretends to be Romy’s uncle, while they make up the story that Romy’s actual mother was lost at sea. Because if the organization found out that Brain has a son with a MAN??? THINK of the controversy! Anyway, the plan works, and Brain actually manages to get elected as president. Throughout this though, Pinky gets WEIRDLY jealous that Brain keeps brushing him aside for Billie. To the point where during Brain’s inauguration, Pinky actually dresses up as the wife/mother lost at sea and storms into the room.

[ID: Comic panels of Pinky, Brain, and Romy on stage at the inauguration ceremony. Pinky busts into room wearing drag, saying, “Yoo hoo! I’m back from years lost at sea to be with my son and ungrateful husband! Narf!” He then hugs Romy, while glaring at Brain. He goes on to say, “I’ll stand by your side, even though you left me behind!” The people in the audience begin to question this, saying, “Oh great fuzzy bangs!”, “What’d she say?!”, “He deserted her to be with that other woman!”, “What kind of monster is he?!”. Brain then rips off Pinky’s wig and says, “This isn’t my wife! This isn’t even a woman! It’s my roommate, Pinky.” Pinky replies, “Well, yes... But Romy really is my son! Poit!” And Brain responds, “N-Nonsense! He’s my son!” More people in the audience angrily speak up, saying, “What’s that?”, “He lives with a guy who likes to dress up in women’s clothing and the both claim to be that kid’s father!”, “Grumble! Mutter!” /END ID]

Needless to say, this doesn’t end well for them. What we can conclude from this is that homophobia exists in the Pinky and the Brain universe, and our characters are directly affected by it.

Moving on, And-There-Was-Only-One-Bed is a pretty common occurrence with these two. Their cage is big, they have plenty of room for two beds, but? They choose to sleep together? Even in some times where this has been inconsistent and they DO have separate beds, they’re always RIGHT next to each other. (what if we put our minecraft beds together ❤😳)

I would like to mention the episode, You’ll Never Eat Food Pellets In This Town Again! This episode is interesting to say the least. Deals with a lot of the meta of the show. Anyway. In this episode, Brain has a nightmare that he’s in a loveless marriage with Billie. You know, the woman he’s supposed to have a crush on. In the end, he wakes up from the nightmare in the same bed as Pinky.

Speaking of female love interests, Pinky is seen having multiple relationships with characters of different species. Any time this is brought up by Brain, Pinky counters with Brain being too intolerant. An honorable mention with this is in Wakko’s Wish, when Pinky is with Pharfignewton, and Brain’s constant pestering about their relationship could be read as jealousy. Pinky needs a mousy date, after all!

Something else I would like to mention is in one episode (I forget what it’s called, I’ll try to look it up later and edit this), Brain is applying for a job. The employer asks Brain if he’s married, and Brain hesitates before saying he “has a roommate,” but that he’s occupied with his own things, which then cuts to a shot of Pinky applying lipstick.

Leading into part two of this essay, Pinky’s relationship with gender! Pinky has always been very gender nonconforming, and loves to wear dresses, do his makeup, and make himself look pretty. For the most part, this is played pretty straight, and not as a gag, like a lot of shows tend to do! It’s just a casual fact about him that he likes to present femininely sometimes.

This does play into their taking over the world plans pretty often, where Pinky wears drag, usually either to sneak into somewhere. Like in one of their earliest appearances on Animaniacs, Noah’s Lark, where they pose as a couple to board Noah’s, and I quote, “love boat.” After boarding, Noah says to himself, “Who am I to judge?” Okay. Yeah. Alright. Anyway.

I actually had less to say on this than I thought I did, but I wanted to make sure to emphasize that Pinky at the very least is coded as being Not Quite Cis, and that he’s played a key part in helping a lot of people watching the show figure out that they’re also Not Quite Cis. 

Wrapping this up because I’m hungry, but I want to throw in some more honorable mentions that I really do not see any type of cishet explanations for:

They literally go on a romantic date at a very fancy restaurant in Brain’s Night Off. This is played extremely casually, and the only remark from anyone that they receive is that they are “much smaller than the usual clients.”

Pinky, on at least one occasion, daydreams about him and Brain being a married couple, and wanting to be a housewife (the original malewife ❤)

There’s an issue in the comics where Pinky has a crush on another male mouse, and when Brain gets annoyed, Pinky reassures him that he thinks Brain is cute and quite the catch too

Brain attempting to kiss Pinky in the reboot??????

Brain actually did conquer the world once in the Halloween special, because Pinky made a deal with the devil for it, and thus Pinky got sent to hell! Brain actually went to hell and gave up the world to bring him back

Brain was extremely close to conquering the world once more in the Christmas special, but after reading what Pinky’s feelings for him were (nothing romantic, just Pinky basically just praising Brain for being so hardworking and an amazing mouse, and lamenting that he never gets anything for it), he gets so emotional that he sabotages himself and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas instead

TLDR; these mice are very queer and need therapy, and are probably the most heavily queercoded characters that I can think of in children’s media.

“No balls!” Rae shouts, daring you to kill Jack who is trying to get something out of the vending machine, but him being drunk as fuck doesn’t help.

“I have three, actually.” You joke. Both you and Rae burst into a fit of laughter, but not for long since Jack goes up to you two.

“What are you two laughing about?” He asks, laughing with you guys even though he has no idea what he’s laughing about. Gosh, Jack, you’re really making it hard for me to kill you right now, you think to yourself.

“This,” You answer, killing him. You and Rae run away, screaming whenever you see someone. Thank God for everyone being drunk or else you two would be sussed out for being complete maniacs.

“Y/N,” Rae whispers. She gestures towards the green room and you can see Sykkuno watering the plants.

“No!” You whisper-yell. You’ve become Rae’s hitman, Brooke being the other Imposter. You need someone to vouch for you so, you don’t mind being by Rae the whole time.

“Hey, Sykunno!” Rae shouts when Sykkuno walks out. He’s slurring over his words, trying to say ‘hey’ back. Yeah, no way you’re killing him.

“See? Absolutely no fucking balls. Small dick, too.” Rae taunts. You want to kill her, but if you do, you’d immediately get voted off. So, you kill Sykkuno instead. It hurt, but you had to show Rae what’s up.

“How come no bodies have been reported?” You ask to nobody in particular, just wondering out loud.

“I’m good at hiding them.” Corpse jokes from behind you, scaring both you and Rae. Corpse knows how sensitive you are to any sound when it comes down to places that are quiet, and since only you and Rae have been together, his voice was the cause of your overdramatic ass scream. Playing along, Rae starts screaming with you two, the both of you being extremely obnoxious.

You know that he was just joking about hiding the bodies because Brooke is your partner for this round. You’re not even sure how Corpse isn’t dead yet.

“Okay, okay, I get it.” Corpse chuckles. “I won’t sneak up on you like that anymore.” You and Rae stop screaming, relieving Corpse’s poor eardrums of being blown.

Rae starts running around you in circles while you and Corpse are in the middle of a conversation. You know what she’s hinting at, but you decide to ignore her. You’re not going to kill Corpse.

“No balls!” Rae shouts competively.

“What?” Corpse asks, sounding confused.

“I have so many, Rae, you don’t even know, but I’m not gonna- I’m not gonna kill Corpse.” Good going, Y/N, you think to yourself. Well, now you have to kill him.

Corpse starts running away and you do everything your drunk ass can do to catch him and kill him. He’s laughing, running into walls, you doing the same. Finally, you’re able to kill him.

Rae catches up to your avatar, laughing maniacally. She cheers you on, knowing that’s the only way that you’ll continue to be her hitman. Jack, Sykkuno, and Corpse. You’re not even sure if Brooke has killed anyone.

“Brooke! Brooke, have you killed anyone yet?” You try to be quiet, but your shitface drunk and you don’t think that’s working.

“No, have you?” She asks, trying to be quiet, too.

“Yeah, three people. I’m Rae’s hitman.”

“Okay, I’ll do better.” And with that, she’s off to go kill people.

“His body was in the hallway to Decontam... I think, don’t quote me on that.” Dream says, slightly slurring on his words.

“There’s 4 bodies and we’ve only found one? What the fuck?” Charlie sounds exhausted and you can’t help but laugh.

“Sorry,” You try and catch your breath, but once you do, you’re still giggling a bit. “Sorry, that was funny.”

Everybody else starts laughing and eventually, the voting time ends and nobody is voted out.

Wow, a tactic you didn’t even mean to use actually worked. It’s either because of how drunk everyone is or because of how contagious your laugh is - a lot of people call it cute and adorable.

You guys decide to end the game, everyone else ending their streaming while you just close your laptop. You all seemed to sober up towards the end, none of you wanting to drink anymore. Right now, you’d say you’re 85% sober. Taking a shower and drinking lots of water should have you good and all sobered up.

After taking a shower and getting a cold bottle of water, you lay in bed, watching random Minecraft speedbuilds of people building cute cottages.

You get a DM from none other than Corpse Husband. You smile to yourself before answering.

You wake up with a minor headache. Last night, you’d say that the Minecraft speedbuilds helped sober you up, but right now, you know it was the cold shower and cold water bottle.

You remember the text message Corpse had sent you, about wanting to check up on you. You two have only known each other for about a week or two now, and you two haven’t really talked. It’s nice, though - having someone who wants to check up on you. He’s done it these last three days you’ve played with him and his friends.

You text Corpse, telling him you can talk on the phone now. You both have been trying to plan to talk to each other just so you guys can get closer. You and Corpse relate to a lot of things and talking in Among Us with proximity chat and Corpse’s stream, it’s not the best way to have a deep conversation.

“Hi,” You greet him, placing your phone down that way you can make breakfast and talk to him. He wanted to FaceTime, and you’re not sure why because he said he’d be covering his camera. It’s fine with you.

“Good morning, Y/N. What are you up to?” A small yawn escapes his lips.

“Making some chocolate chip pancakes.” You grab your phone, showing him the pan that’s mostly filled with chocolate chips.

“Gosh, Y/N, want some pancakes with your chocolate chips?” He chuckles. You giggle, placing the phone back down and turning the camera to face you.

“I’m an amazing cook, puh-lease. I know what I’m doing.”

“I think we’ll have to test that theory.”

“You live like 2 hours away from me, how are we gonna do that?” You ask him, placing a pancake on your plate. You put more butter on the pan before putting more pancake mix on.

“I’d 100% drive two hours to your apartment just to try out your food.” He says. You smile at him, shaking your head and rolling your eyes playfully. “Speaking of going to each other’s houses, I have a question.”

“What’s up?”

He chuckles nervously, “Do you maybe want to collab?”

You’re caught offguard by this. You quickly put your pancake on your plate before answering.

“I’d love to.” You’re able to contain your excitement, surprisingly. “But Corpse, if you’re not comfortable with meeting me, we can find some way to do it over the phone. I really don’t think it’d be that hard. You could record your parts and I cou-”

Corpse cuts your rant off, chuckling a little bit. You smile sheepishly, taking a bite out of your pancakes.

“I’ll be fine, Y/N.”

“Okay,” You give him a small smile. “We can make plans later.”

“Good,” He says and you can hear a smile in his voice.

“Good,”

You and Corpse talk about anything and everything, alternating from really deep conversations to lighthearted, funny ones. Lots of laughing, but also lots of crying on your end. Corpse telling you that it’s okay and that everything will be okay is your new favorite thing. You never knew how much those two phrases would be changed just by coming from a different person. They never really meant anything when they came from anyone else - as much as you appreciated people reassuring you. But hearing it from Corpse, it really did feel like everything was going to be okay.

You two end the call, both of you being busy today. He promised to call you more often and you did the same.

Oooo maybe some real life plants! but they are .. off somehow, I think that the end should mostly keep its dull very color drained vibes so the colorful things just seem more. So the greens are so gray you could barely call it green, and for subsitute water? Maybe liquid magic. Becasue this place has to run off of magic, they are floating over a void...

SPACE WHALES! Flying Rays, JellyFish! A lot of deep sea horrors fit very nicely into space horrors (and wonders bc I'll cry if the whales are mean :( ) and would do nicely to fill the endless stretches of just void with no land in sight. and Anglerfish... maybe not a fish, or floating in the void like the others but something land bound that uses a hypnotic lure? It lures you in with the feeling of safety and home. There is a reason that the abandoned cities where off the ground :)

Anyways floating over a void, the end (in my head canon) is the source of all magics in Mc (all the planes are connected and it diffuses into the other dimensions, but it is SATURATED in everything in the end, the dragon is pure magic, a manifestation of the end itself, so a lot of things there are magic or sustain themselves on magic (things that stay there (live over generations n stuff our group is fine) get warped by it which could be how over world plants got in there and established themselves, they would not survive in the over world any longer, the sun would kill them, their roots would thirst to death on water. they have magical properties, some of them glow. ) Though there are a lot of End Native plants too (the trees that are only trees when you stretch the definition, that thing that Moves, and has what you could only call teeth but it is not an animal, so it must be a plant) Oooooo maybe the warped fungus ;) I mean everything in the nether is terrified of it, so maybe it doesnt really belong there, and hitched a ride on fleeing endermen

A lot of things glow, (its how we have those stars in the end, they are creatures off in the distance, and whenever the wastelands that stretch on for miles give way to not-trees or shrub-lands, something is gonna glow, which gives the areas eerie shadows that make the wide vulnerable wastelands they came from seem safer than whatever is found in there. The magic running in the rivers sometimes spill out into the abyss and dissipates to start the cycle anew. Things lurk everywhere and kind things are few and far between. The End is full of Life, and That Is Horrifying

Endermen are nomadic and travel in haunts (Im taking this from Human Error :D), and are generally friendly until you look into their eyes (Eyes are windows to the soul, how can they bear to look at you? You are so bright, so Warm. It Sears their eyes, It Burns their very being. Stop looking, It Hurts. Stop Stop Stop-) They are willing to trade and talk Enchanting (So All 3 Dimensions have a Sentient Race :DD) and are very magically inclinded. A lot of mages are endermen or have ender blood in them. The end is very deadly, and Haunts keep eachother alive because their death could mean death of the group (they are very close knit and that leads to very protective (what Im saying is when Tubbo gets back his Husband is going to smother him and fret over one of the 3 members of his Haunt (Tubbo, Michael, and Tommy :) )) when One finds themself without a haunt, many try and find safety in the other dimensions as they will not survive alone in the end.

Oh, that's a good idea! Mainly dull colors-especially for the more dangerous plants, they'd need to blend in to catch their food. I feel like there'd be some more colorful ones though-the chorus fruits are pretty saturated, after all. Maybe purple colors are brighter, and others are more dull? Or no?

So many space creatures, oh gosh. There'd be very few grounded ones, with so much of the End being void, so sea-based creatures are definitely a good call. That'd be so pretty too?? And we've gotta blur the line between space wonder and eldritch horror for at least a few of them, of course!

The jelly fish are absolutely huge! Massive and glowing through transparent skin, they mainly hang out far from the islands, being mistaken as stars, and their tendrils glow so faintly you can only see them up close. From a distance, they're beautiful, but up close they're terrifying.

Flying rays the size of horses that can be used to cross the void between islands like striders for lava?? Flying rays that's tips fade into an abyssal black so deep it looks they merge into the void? Flying rays with a possible relation to phantoms? Seeking out the sleepless, but only watching, merely drawn to lure them to sleep with the mesmerizing patterns that run along their bodies.

Space whales!!!! Titans so ancient and old, parts of their bodies are overgrown by End islands and forest, making them for all purposes, living, breathing islands. Magic so deeply tied to them that even when they pass, they remain afloat, creating graveyards of still islands, that even still seem to breath when stepped upon. Gentle giants in that they are untouched by anything, and so curious of the new wonders the void welcomes.

A thing that stalks the islands it inhabits, singing out a call that seems ripple across the starry expanse-it sounds like love and warmth and understanding, and it says i love you, the universe loves you, in the same way the poem must rung in your ears, must nestle under your ribs. Love, love, love, it croons. Except then you get too close, and it catches you, and the sound is empty and hollow, and it's grip is tight, and nothing leaves it's arms or island alive, drained of life and magic.

Safety is only in that it is bound to the land, and no creature dares approach it, instinctively knowing of the danger. The islands that even the stars avoid...

Magic dragon?? Yes! Manifestation of the End?? That means it must somehow know how to take the appearance of one. Maybe smaller little space dragons, that play among the bones of the long-gone giant ones. The Ender Dragon isn't as large as they might've been, but it mimics the appearance as best it can-I wonder why. How long has it had that egg, again? How long has it waited for it to hatch?
