Happy Sunday, everyone!! <3 Here is the next encounter of the “Big, Vast, Complicated and Ridiculous“ Series! Round two at Luna U... just a bit earlier! ;)
Rating: General
Word Count: 1800
Read on AO3 or below
Luna University Part II
“Mind out!“ The Doctor stumbled back into the broom closet she’d parked and hidden her TARDIS in. The warning came just in time as someone zoomed past on a hoover board, nearly taking her head off.
“Alright then…“ The Doctor closed the closet door quickly in the hopes no-one would notice where she’d come from. She looked around and wondered if she’d taken a wrong turn in the vortex somewhere. Luna University - which this quite clearly was, she recognised the corridor from her visit just now - resembled a mad house. The corridor was a mess, there were paper cups and spilled drinks, abandoned books, half eaten dinners and items of clothing. “Oh no…“ The Doctor winced as she realised where and most importantly when she had arrived: Fresher’s week.
Slowly the Doctor made her way down the corridor, unsure of what to do next. River had to be here somewhere… She rolled up the manuscript and stuck it into her coat pocket for safe keeping. If she had calculated correctly and the TARDIS hadn’t messed with her flight plan again, River should be in her final year of her degree. An upper classman who surely should be above something as silly as freshmen parties… but this was River Song as a uni student… Young, wild… and currently downing a drink at some speed as the Doctor reached the communal area of the the student halls.
“Where… do-do you put all… that…“ The student River had apparently been competing with could hardly get his words out right and he spilled the remainder of his drink across the table.
River jumped out of the way of the liquid and laughed, shaking out her impressive mane of hair.
“I have a theory that in addition to an extra heart, there’s also an extra liver hiding in there somewhere.“ River retorted with a winning smile drawing laughter from the surrounding students.
The Doctor hung back, watching. River appeared to be in her element. Loud, bold, people were fawning over her and she was loving the attention. The Doctor chuckled to herself a little, remaking again on the vast contrast to the River she’d last met. It was remarkable how much she had changed with time and how much she had stayed the same as well.
“But before we go for another round, I do have one question…“ River took a sip of the gin and tonic  someone handed to her. “You, Darling, don’t go to this university, I would have noticed.“ River turned to look at the Doctor who jumped, startled, not expecting her to notice her at all. “So what are you doing here?“
“I uhh…“ The Doctor didn’t know what to say, she looked around to make sure River was actually referring to her. Suddenly all eyes were on her as she hovered in the doorway.
“I mean, I’m not one to complain when a cute girl turns up on my doorstep…“ River smirked making her way over, leaving her admirers behind disappointed.
“River…“ The Doctor forced a smile, wondering how to best approach this situation. She thought back to the Maldovarium. River had indicated she’d met her then so this must have been that encounter.
“I see my reputation precedes me as usual.“ River smirked, flicking her hair over her shoulder. “And you are?“ She placed her hand on the doorframe, baring her way.
“Jane… Smith…“ The Doctor answered slowly, trying to keep the chronology intact.
“You expect me to believe that, Jane Smith?“ River burst out laughing as she seized her up. “Why have I never seen you around campus before?“
“Recent transfer.“ The Doctor retorted quickly, feeling the pressure.
“Is that so.“ River tilted her head to one side and grinned like a cheshire cat. “What is it you study, Jane Smith?“
“Archeology.“ The Doctor answered, hoping that was her best play.
“Isn’t that one hell of a coincidence.“ River hummed, stepping a little closer still. Close enough to make the Doctor inch back nervously.
“Yes, I know, that’s why I… I was hoping we could talk… professionally.“ The Doctor glanced over her future wife’s shoulder to the other students that were watching curiously.
“Well, Sweetie, you can talk to me any time but no promises I’ll be keeping it professional…“ River husked with a smirk that made the Doctor blush and her hearts beat a little faster. So this was what young River Song was like. She hadn’t had much of a chance to get to know her at the Maldovarium but maybe there was an opportunity now… The Doctor had just spent a wonderful night with her wife but still, she was drawn to this brazen version of her just as strongly. The River she had seen just now she’d known very well, but this young River, she didn’t, at all.
If the Doctor didn’t give herself away, as the older River had suggested, it would be a glimpse at what she was like when she thought no-one was watching. When she didn’t have to be good River Song, the wife of the Doctor, but her unpolished, unfinished self… so full of energy and mischief. It was alluring in a totally different way to the loving safety and warm comfort her older wife had given her.
“Well, maybe you don’t have to.“ The Doctor found herself saying, silencing all her contradicting thoughts about what she should or shouldn’t do. Why not live a little?
“How about that drink then, Jane Smith?“ River appeared delighted, she reached out and ran her fingers along one of her yellow braces.
“Sure, yeah…“ The Doctor nodded, her throat was getting rather dry after all.
“Outstanding.“ River grinned and went to fetch her a drink. The Doctor remained standing in the doorway, unsure whether to follow her or not. She felt everybody’s eyes on her and it was making her uncomfortable. “There you are.“ River returned moments later, placing a glass in the palm of her hand before stroking her fingers up the Doctor’s arm with a grin.
“How about we take it somewhere more quiet so we can talk?“ The Doctor asked, very much aware of their audience and she wanted to have River to herself. River raised her eyebrows with a smirk, this was infinitely more easy than she had anticipated but she wasn’t going to complain.
“Come along then.“ She grabbed the Doctor’s hand and pulled her down the corridor to a chorus of disappointed calls of the students they were abandoning.
From there, things happened very quickly, quicker than the Doctor had anticipated. River shoved her up against her dorm room door once she’d closed it and assaulted her lips with her own. The Doctor gasped, overwhelmed, spilling her drink over the both of them.
“Ah well, that’s a shame, we’re gonna have to take our clothes off now.“ River smirked. She slid her jacket off her shoulders and threw it onto her chair, then pulled her tank top over her head and off. The Doctor just stared at her, her head spinning. It was silly really, she knew every inch of her wife’s body very well but the way this young River was advancing towards her, flipping her hair back…
“I uhh…“ The Doctor tired her best to look at her face, not her lacy bra. Her mouth went dry.
“Something the matter, Sweetie?“ River hummed as she slowly pushed the Doctor’s coat off her shoulders, she pressed her lips to her throat, trailing wet kisses down to her collar bone. The coat fell to the floor and River pushed her hands under the Doctor’s t-shirt, running her fingers up her stomach.
“Oh crap…“ The manuscript the Doctor had left in her coat pocket had fallen out and spilled over the floor. The Doctor pulled away from River and bent down to pick it up before the pages could get mixed up.
“Lost something?“ River asked in amusement, watching her scramble around the floor. She bent down as well and picked up a couple of pages. “What’s this?“ River frowned, her voice suddenly far more serious as she skimmed the pages. “Is this some kind of a joke?“
“Uhh… no, this is…“ The Doctor didn’t really know what to say, she hadn’t gotten as far as that in her planning of this trip. Was she supposed to just tell her her future self sent this with kind regards?
“Cause this is exactly the topic I’m planning to write my thesis on, I’ve got notes detailing this section and… What is this? Where did you get it?“ There was no small measure of distrust in River’s voice now as she demanded an explanation.
“This is actually why I’m here…“ The Doctor decided it was best to just come clean, she knew River would be able to tell if she was lying. “There is someone out there that wants you to have it. Save you some time…“ She tried to explain.
“Someone? I haven’t told anyone about my topic yet!“ River countered.
“Well, it’s not just anyone…“ The Doctor gave an apologetic smile but River’s expression just grew more suspicious. “Okay fine, your future self asked me to take this to you. You wrote this yourself but a long time from now. Happy?“ The Doctor sighed, hoping the revelation wouldn't have any consequences. She figured technically, River would eventually have to find out it was her that wrote the thesis for herself, so she would know to write it in the future.
“That… does sound like something I would do…“ River admitted taking the rest of the papers, mulling over whether or not to believe her.
“I’m just the messenger.“ The Doctor held her hands up defensively. “You do with this what you like.“
“So… if you know my future self… you must be from my future, too.“ River stood up and so did the Doctor.
“Oh, no, no, who’s to say your future self didn’t come to visit me?“ The Doctor countered quickly, she knew she shouldn’t be telling her too much.
“I’m saying that.“ River pointed out, jabbing the pages at her. “And that means, either you have access to time travel or you know someone that does!“
“Now listen… River…“ The Doctor could virtually see the gears turning in her future wife’s head.
“Who are you?“ River asked suspiciously. “Your name is not Jane Smith, that’s for sure.“
“I think I best get going.“ The Doctor picked up her coat quickly. “This was great, really nice, but…“ She fumbled with the door knob.
“How did you get here? What’s your means of travel?“ River carried on, intrigued. “And how will we know each other?“
“I was really hoping we could have a bit more time for this one…“ The Doctor sighed, realising this was just another fleeting moment. “Sorry about this.“ She knocked the pile of papers out of River’s hand, sending them flying to distract her future wife long enough so she could bolt.

Between Worlds
Well, you guys asked for a story about these cryptids after I finished Prison Cell. Well, I couldn’t get all of them into one one-off, obviously, but I hope you like it! There is going to be some Creatorship. Also, cryptids in this story aren’t a metaphor for disabilities, homosexuality, or anything else- they’re just cryptids.
---
It was the night after Henry’s senior prom. He had had a great time dancing with his friends and could have almost pretended that everything in his life was normal.
Most people knew that Henry was mute, but most didn’t know that he didn’t need to sleep or eat. Most didn’t know that he could sense other cryptids in the surrounding area. When he was a kid, he had made the mistake of telling someone about a cat-like one that he’d seen rummaging in the trash. Having to see it wrestled to the ground and shot minutes later had taught him to never do so again, and certainly to never reveal his own differences to full humans. There were maybe six cryptids in Henry’s home town. Henry knew their location, and knew that all but one of them weren’t doing well. He even remembered when one of them- one of them hardly older than Henry was now- had died. It was like a light going off on a radar board. Henry thanked his lucky stars every day that he looked human and could live a human life. Most weren’t. Most couldn’t.
Henry didn’t communicate with most of the cryptids in his area. He’d already befriended one, and taking care of him was work enough for Henry.
He’d been six years old when he’d found Joey rummaging through their cupboards at night. Joey had been small, then, and a bit more animalistic, with his gangly too-long limbs and crow-skull face. Joey had explained to Henry that his parents had abandoned him, and Henry had allowed Joey to sleep in his bed that night. From that point on, Henry kind of looked after Joey, even as he got bigger and harder to manage.
It was a thankful thing that Henry didn’t have to sleep. It had allowed Henry to go out on his own at night. It was at night that he could play with Joey. It was also at night that they, thankfully, found an abandoned house in the woods where Joey could stay at. It was a good thing, too- little six-year-old Joey could hide in Henry’s room easily enough, but since then he’d grown from having the body of an awkward, bipedal fawn to being easily seven feet tall and somewhat more proportionate. He’d gotten scarier-looking, too. Maybe the little crow skull and baby claws he’d once had would have gained him some sympathy back then. The fearsome talons he had now? The elegant curved skull with the terrifyingly long, sharp beak? Not so much.
It didn’t help that Joey had done some pretty shocking things to survive at this point. Muggings. Hunting the wild animals around his home with his bare hands. Thievery, including robbing people’s houses and on occasion shredding their guard dogs to ribbons with his claws. Henry had gotten a job as soon as he was old enough so he could to help pay Joey’s living expenses- again, not having to sleep was a benefit, and few people understood how Henry managed to keep on top of his studies while working so hard. Of course, Joey still stole sometimes, mostly out of necessity.
Despite the challenges, though, Henry did love Joey and understood that he didn’t choose to be like this, and it was nice to have someone he didn’t have to hide his cryptid nature from. That was why he was heading to Joey’s house in the woods- it was high time that they had a talk about the future. In the past, Joey had expressed terror at the thought of Henry leaving him. So Henry wouldn’t. Not now. Maybe not ever.
Joey leaned down and Henry kissed him on the beak, as he always did when they met up.
“How was prom, dear?” Joey asked.
Good, Henry signed.
“Good.”
Can I stay the night? There’s so much we have to talk about.
“Of course you can.”
I thought about what I want in the future. I want to help cryptids like you. I thought for a while that I could just leave this life behind, but I'd always be able to feel you in the back of my head, and it would kill me if you died and I didn’t know how or why or if I could prevent it. I just don’t know how to make that my life.
“Well, there’s always the studio,” Joey suggested. “We could hire other cryptids.”
That’s a castle in the sky, Joey. I don’t know how to get the money for that. And you might have the time to draw all day, but I haven’t been practicing as much as I should. Balancing work and school, you know. Henry stopped signing and looked to Joey for answers. None came. Well, I guess I don’t have to figure it out right now. I guess I could just work for a while until I figure it out. Let’s just go upstairs. Enjoy our night together.
Joey’s room was dark this time of night, illuminated by a lantern. The walls were coated with Joey’s art. It really was impressive stuff. At one point, Henry had been the better artist between the two of them, but not anymore. That always filled Joey with a sense of both pride in himself and shame that he’d stifled Henry.
“Henry,” Joey said, putting a hand on Henry’s shoulder. “I’ve had this idea for a while... the idea that you could apply for an art school using my art. I mean, you’re talented. You could sharpen your skills again over the summer. Then at art school you could figure out how to make the studio happen. What do you say?”
Henry shook his head. If I go to an art school in another city, I’ll have to leave you behind. And art school won’t teach me how to start a studio. It’ll just teach me how to work at one.
“Right,” Joey said, disappointed. Living on the outside of society had left him dreadfully naïve as to how it worked. “Well, It’s not just about that. It’s about making up for the trouble I’ve caused you. Letting you be free of me for a while. And while you’re gone, I can meet other cryptids. Try to be more independent.”
Henry hesitated. Leaving Joey to his own devices would mean that Joey would be providing for all of his needs through theft and violence, and stood a greater chance of being caught.
“Just do one semester. For me. Alright?”
Henry nodded, then gave Joey a hug. The plan was sealed. The summer went as planned. Henry’s artistic skills came back quickly. They also enjoyed their time together, going for walks down by the river, stargazing, fantasizing about a world where he could take Joey with him. The summer was over too fast, and the two parted ways.
---
The closer Henry got to the new city, the more cryptids Henry could detect, like blips on a radar. He ignored them. He and Joey had talked about this- this was to be Henry’s time to be human, and human he would be.
It was a commitment that was hard to keep. Henry missed having someone who understood what it meant to be different. Sometimes Henry would detect a cryptid who was right near him and get tempted.
One day, he broke. He’d detected a while ago that the older woman that sometimes sat next to him in art history class was a cryptid, though he didn’t know what kind. The strange thing- or it would have been strange if Henry didn’t know what she was- was that the woman looked identical to his mother.
After mulling over how to approach her, Henry had decided to just be honest with her. After they’d chatted a bit and were in private, Henry admitted to being a cryptid, and to what his powers were. It was a risky move- the woman, open-minded as she seemed, might have reported him. Instead, she smiled.
“Oh. Cool, I’m a cryptid, too. One of my powers is that I appear as people’s dream woman.” It was strange and kind of refreshing to find someone so open about it.
What would a little kid see? Henry wrote on the pad of paper he was using to communicate.
“Maybe their best female friend. But most often? Their mom.”
Henry went red.
Allison threw her head back and laughed. “Henry, when there’s only one person in the room, I can see what form I’m taking. And yeah, it doesn’t mean you’re a manchild. A mother is a pretty common one for grown women or, you know, men like you. But it’s okay. I mean, why would freaks like us care about something as small as who you love? Anyhow. The good thing about my powers is that some of them- not this one, though- can be taught. Want to hang out sometime?”
Absolutely, Henry wrote.
---
On what was actually less than two hundred miles away but felt like the other side of the planet, Joey was on the hunt for cryptids as well. Henry had left him with a vague map of where the handful of cryptids around town were. Of course, there was no guarantee that any of them would be friendly or even sapient, and unfortunately, all of them had proven extremely good at hiding. He’d nearly given up on finding other cryptids when he found one of them one fateful night.
Joey had stolen, among other things, money from someone’s house the night before, but couldn’t exactly go into stores to use it. So, instead he was hiding in a back alley, waiting for some street person to come along. Street people were a blessing to Joey- he could have been Satan himself and they still wouldn’t object to being paid to go into a few stores to buy things for him.
A blond, baby-faced man in a hoodie turned into the alleyway, prompting Joey to crawl out of hiding and approach him. The man was scared, unsurprisingly, and adopted a defensive stance. Once Joey was close enough, the other man lunged, struck Joey right in a wound that he’d acquired a few days ago, tackled him over.
“How did you do that!?” Joey demanded of the man. It seemed impossible. Joey was experienced at scraps and must have had over a foot and a good fifty or sixty pounds on the guy.
“Extremely good luck,” the man said with a smile, helping Joey up. “Sorry bout’ that. I thought you were dangerous.” He then continued on his way. It was then that Joey realized that the man didn’t look homeless- he was clean, healthy, uninjured, shaven and all that. Joey ran to keep up with him.
“Do you walk home this way every night? You know, through a back alley at midnight in the bad side of town?”
“Yeah, mostly. Sometimes you just gotta have time to yourself, you know? A lot of people don’t like me. Say I’m a bad omen. Which I am, but I can’t help it. When ah was a boy, I wanted a dog fer Christmas. So, one of my parents’ friends’ house burned down and he had to move in with us temporarily- and they brought their dog. That kinda thing happened to me a lot before ah figured out the pattern. So, I, uh, have to try and make sure I don’t want anything too hard. It ain’t so bad once you get used to it.” The boy’s face showed sadness. Clearly it did bother him.
“Oh. Well, for a person who likes time to himself, you sure seem eager to talk to people. What’s your name, kid?”
“Wally.”
“Wally. Well, I don’t know about you, but I think our meeting was fate. You must have wanted to make friends who were like you! And that just so happens to be what I want. Why don’t we stick together.”
“...That might not be a good idea for ya.”
“I’ll take my chances. I mean, just try to want my well-being and it should happen, right?”
Wally stopped walking. They were at the end of the back alley. Two cops approached them and then fell into a man-hole, saving Joey from having to run from them. “Ah mean... it might happen that way.” Wally’s voice cracked.
“It will. Just trust me. We’ll make it work.”
---
By the end of the semester, Henry was putting more time into cryptid hunting than his studies. Allison was his assistant. She taught him some minor potions and charms before their first “mission.” Henry had thought it was unnecessary. He was wrong. The cryptid they met was a harpy-like creature with poisoned claws, and they’d had to kill it in self-defense.
There were good cryptids, too. Human-like ones. Ones Henry met on campus who walked the border line between “cryptid,” and “gifted, disabled, or both.” There were even a few animal-like cryptids that Henry and Allison could do nothing for except feeding them and giving them some water. But the majority of what set off Henry’s radar were monsters.
Henry had started off excited about “cryptid hunting,” as Allison put it, but now, it was draining him emotionally and frankly scaring him half to death. Allison never tired of it. Allison kept dragging him out. She wasn’t oblivious to his distress and tried to debrief him with comforting words and alcohol (at one point, stuff stronger than alcohol, which Henry had refused), but her lust for adventure was stronger than her empathy.
At the end of the semester, Henry returned home with mediocre grades and no real desire to go back to university. Maybe he would go to some other school and be a person instead of a cryptid this time- the credits he’d accumulated would still count at the next place. Maybe he’d go back to the same place but stop cryptid hunting- which would mean either setting some serious boundaries with Allison or cutting her out of his life, as well as ignoring a pretty significant part of himself. At least he had cryptid friends now. Or, maybe he’d just enter the workforce. He’d have to talk it over with his parents. And Joey. Back at home now, Henry could sense that the cryptids in this town were all clustered together now, matching up with what Joey had said in his letters about forming a little pack. Henry hoped that the cryptids Joey had found weren’t too frightening.
When Henry arrived to the little house in the woods, he could see that a large section had been added onto it. Good. It honestly worried Henry sometimes that Joey was spending so much time in that musty, moldering wooden house. The door was answered by a creature with glossy black eyes and a black pit for a mouth.
I’ll get Joey, the creature signed. It knew sign language. Had Joey found other mutes, or had this creature learned just for him? It didn’t matter. Henry was home, and Joey had made himself a family. Like always, Henry met Joey with a kiss on the beak.
“Welcome home, Henry. We have so much to catch up on.”
That night, Henry ate with Joey’s family and slept curled up in Joey’s arms. It was hard being between worlds. And even though he had the capacity to leave the world of cryptids behind, a big part of him didn’t want to.

Chapter 5: Unable to Sleep (Part I)
Cristine
Flashback from fifteen years earlier...
The night was dark as always like in the day, but the storm was much stronger than before. The thunder was louder, the wind was much stronger, and the rain was heavy. The sound of the raindrops made it almost impossible for me to sleep.
But the wind and the rain was never the problem of why I could not sleep. It was lightning. One of my earliest memories of a storm that involved thunder and lightning was when I was no more than three years of age. A time when my mother was still alive and my sister was still with me. My sister and I shared the same bedroom, she never had a problem with lightning or thunder. She thought of them as intriguing and strangely relaxing to listen to. I found it uneasy.
The moment after a bolt of lightning struck I cried out," Mummy!". My sister groaned in annoyance as she woke up.
" Crissy, why must you always shout when a storm happens?", she asked, looking at me with her ivory-toned tired and angry expression. Her wavy dirty blonde hair was a mess, her brown eyes narrowed at me, she was sitting on her side with a hand as support. She was nine years old at the time but her mind was already a practical adult at the time. Mother said that she was a prodigy meaning as in a "child genius". Which was something that frightened our mother due to what horrible things they had done.
" I didn't mean to wake you, Rosie. I just hate the--", before I could finish another lightning struck which made me cry out " Mummy!" again. She came to the door not long after that one. She was standing at the doorway, holding a lit candle. I looked at her with teary eyes. She was in her late twenties to early thirties, tall, long dirty blonde hair that was tied into a messy braid, skin that was pale as the snow, eyes that were green as tree leaves in the spring. She wore a green robe with yellow trim and tie. I held up my arms as I whimpered to her" Mummy...". She gave me a soft smile as she went over to my bed, sat down then held me.
" Mummy the lightning scares me.", I sniffled into her chest. She gently rubbed my back in small circular motions while her other hand held my head closely.
" I know it does, my little fawn.", she told me in her soothing and bird-like voice," The lightning can be scary for many sometimes. ".
" I, however, find it fascinating and relaxing. It's practical music to my ears.", Rosella commented. She was usually called by her pet name "Rosie" rather than "Rosella" unless our mother was being strict with her. This ironically happens quite often since Rosella tended to get in trouble despite her being the oldest and mature one out of both of us.
The lightning then struck again for the third time, as always I cried again." Oh, calm down, Cristine. This happened many times before, you should be used to this--"
" Rosella, hush!", my mother instructed my sister. She only rolled her eyes then laid back down and pulled the covers over herself. Mother still was holding me close.
" I can't stop the thunder, my sweet. Would you like me to sing you to sleep?", she asked. I looked up at her and stopped the sniffling. I nodded my head yes.
She laid me back on the bed and tucked me in. She looked down at me with the same smile on her face as before. She then began to sing in her angelic tone:
"Little child, be not afraid
Though rain pounds harshly against the glass
Like an unwanted stranger
There is no danger
I am here tonight
Little child, be not afraid
Though thunder explodes and lightning flash
Illuminates your tear-stained face
I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
The same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
On forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see
In the morning
Little child, be not afraid
Though storm clouds mask your beloved moon
And its candlelight beams
Still keep pleasant dreams
I am here tonight
Little child, be not afraid
Though wind makes creatures of our trees
And their branches to hands
They're not real, understand
And I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
The same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
On forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see
In the morning
For you know
Once even I was a little child
And I was afraid
But a gentle someone always came
To dry all my tears
Trade sweet sleep for fears
And to give a kiss goodnight
Well now I am grown
And these years have shown
That rain's a part of how life goes
But it's dark and it's late
So I'll hold you and wait
'Til your frightened eyes do close
And I hope that you'll know
That nature is so
The same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
On forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you'll see
In the morning
Everything's fine in the morning
The rain will be gone in the morning
But I'll still be here in the morning"
I don't remember which part of that song I fell asleep in at the time, but when I did I did not hear a single strike of lightning, not even as I heard my mother sing. I was sleeping dreamlessly that night.
___________________________________
Present-day(1476)...
My eyes began to open wide from the dream. It was either the middle of the night or a few hours before sunrise, I could not tell, all I knew was that it was still dark out. I sat up on my bed and held my legs against my chest. Thoughts of my fond memories of my mother filled my mind after waking from the dream.
My mother was always my protector and light when in the darkest moments, she even was the same to Rosella. She loved us both regardless of how different we were from each other. I never understood why anyone would accuse her as a witch or anything awful, as far as I knew she never harmed a soul. I missed her so much, including my sister. She was a bit harsh but she was probably hurt from when our father left us. She knew of him more than I did, they were probably close before I came along. But I wouldn't know, I never really asked and I was only told that he never was the type to stick around long.
Wanting to clear my head from the unhappy thoughts, I removed the covers from my body then got off the bed. I walked to the wardrobe and opened it to search for a robe. I found one that was maroon colored and put it on. I tied it together, tightly but not to where it would hurt me or make me uncomfortable. I walked to the door, opened it, then walked out.
I thought that a small stroll would help clear my head. I walked from hallway to hallway. I went to the library to read for a short period of time before I walked back to my room.
I stopped in my tracks and gasped as I felt a hand on my shoulder. I quickly turned to see who it was and it was Adrien. I placed a hand on my chest and sighed in relief." You scared me.", I almost smiled at him.
He smiled back at me as he said," I apologize for doing so. I was just wondering who was wandering in the halls.". His long blonde hair was a bit messier than usual, he wore a large white shirt that reaches down to his knees, his usual black pants, but did not wear his boots." You had trouble sleeping too, didn't you?", I asked after observing him.
He lifted his shoulders slightly as he responded," How did you guess?". I couldn't tell if he was asking, joking, or being sarcastic. So I didn't respond to that.
" What kept you from being unable to sleep on a lovely night like this?", he asked.
" I--", I began to say but it began to be hard finding the words for it. Any thought of my mother had often made me upset, even if it's one of my fondest memories of her. I never had gotten over her death even after all these years.
" I dreamt of my mother.", I answered him truthfully," Before the Church had come and before my sister had left.". I then looked down with a mildly sad expression on my face.
" Oh... Was it a good dream?", he asked me in a gentle tone.
" It was lovely.", I told him. I then looked back at him. He had a calm expression on his face as usual. Out of curiosity, I asked him in return," How about you Adrien? What kept you up this night?".
" I just couldn't shut my eyes or at the very least keeping them shut.", he answered.
" Hm... I can understand that.", I responded. I could understand. There are some nights where I could shut my eyes, while half the time I couldn't. Whenever I couldn't, I could never understand why though.
" So, what were you doing in the halls, anyway?", he asked.
" I was just taking a small stroll through the halls to distract myself from the thoughts I have been getting since I woke up. I was just on my way back to my bedroom. I never intended to wake you.", I explained to his first then the second question that he didn't even ask," I am sorry for disturbing you."
" No, no, there's no need to apologize. I was only curious.", he told me then asked," Mind if I escort you to your bedroom? If not, then I won't mind."
" I don't mind at all.", I told him with a smile on my face," I enjoy your company.". A smile formed on his face. He lifted his hand slightly towards me. As our fingers intertwined, our eyes never separated from each other's, that was until he walked me back to my room.
___________________________________
Although it wasn't long until he took me back to my bedroom, every second with him felt like forever, but in a genuine way. As we got to my door, I released his hand and told him," Thank you, Adrien, for the talk and for taking me back to my room. I hope you sleep well tonight.". As I turned away to open the door, I felt his hand back on mine. I turned my head back to him.
" If you ever have trouble sleeping again for any reason, you are welcome to come to me. I won't mind if you have to wake me up for it.", he told me.
I smiled again and nodded my head with an " Okay, I will.".
A small smile formed on his lips again. He then placed his free hand on my cheek and held it. He pulled me in delicately and only enough to be a little closer to his masculine form. My eyes looked up at him widely with a confused expression on what he was doing. That was until I felt his lips gently kissing my forehead for two seconds. He still had the same soft smile on his face as he pulled away and removed his hand from my cheek.
I couldn't help but blush a little as I tried to hide the smile that was forcing itself to form on my face. He chuckled at my response to his kiss." Goodnight, Cristine, do sleep well.", Adrien told me as he began to walk away.
" Goodnight.", I returned as I watched him walk away with the smile still on my face. I quickly entered my room, shut the door, then leaned back on it. My eyes were half-closed as I stood there with a dumb look on my face. Thoughts of Adrien was filling my mind, repeating the same scene of just happened between me and him. His kiss may not have been on my lips, but my heart couldn't help but flutter since that was the first time any male had kissed me before. I felt almost as if though I was in love, but I couldn't be since neither of us really had talked on the subject and the idea of it was still new to me.
After a minute and a half, I stood up straight then made my way to my bed. I climbed onto the bed and laid my head on the pillows. Soon, my eyelids slowly lost their strength to keep open, shutting my eyes allowing me to drift back to sleep.

Can you do yandere yang or blake pleas
Already did Blake, so might as well get to work on Yang.
————————————————————
Anonymous asks: Slay the Dragon! Knight (RWBY)
Yang (writing out “S” and “Dragon!”): There, adjustments have been made. Off I go~!
————————————————————
*Yang and Ruby are watching Jaune fight off against Cardin on a battlefield ring*
Cardin: You can’t defend yourself forever, Jaunie-boy!
Jaune (gritting his teeth): Rgh! *Internally* All I gotta do is wait for him to burn out, then that’s my cue!
Yang (fawning): Hm~…
Ruby: Why isn’t Jaune attacking back at Cardin? *Realization* …Wait, I got it! He’s luring Cardin into a false sense of security!
Yang (smirking): He sure is, Rubes…
*BONG!*
Cardin (staggering): Agh!
Jaune (charging at Cardin): Haaaaaaaa! *Strikes at Cardin and knocks him out of the ring*
Cardin (stumbling off): Gah! Oof! *Fall face-first into the ground*
*Yang bites the bottom of her lip*
Ruby (surprised): Wow! He did it! He- *Notices Yang slowly start to blush* Huh? Yang?
Yang (internally): Ohmygodjusttakeme! Takemetakemetakemetakemetakemevomitbo-
Ruby (yelling): YANG!!!
Yang (snapping out of it): Ah! Huh? What is it, Rubes?
Ruby (smirking): Do…you have a crush on Jaune?
Yang (blushing): R-Ruby!
Ruby: Hey, it’s alright! I won’t tell anybody if you do, and I won’t attempt to compete for his attention against you!
Yang (internally): Oh, Ruby…this is why I love you. You know me so well, you know exactly what to say to soothe me. *Looks over to Jaune lovingly* Which is why I’m gonna make you an aunt~.
Ruby: Hello? Yang? Are you spacing out again? Yang?
*2 hours later…*
*Yang is walking down the hallways, humming to herself, until she hears noises*
???: OW! AGH! RGH! OW!
*Yang raises an eyebrow, runs down the hall to see what’s happening, then comes across Jaune being restrained by Dove and Sky, and being repeatedly punched in the face and stomach by Russel*
Russel (still punching Jaune): This! Is! For! Hu! Mil! I! A! Ting! Our! Lea! Der!
Jaune (coughing up blood): *Gack!* It’s called…urk! Strategising…
Russel (kicks him in the groin): MORE!!! LIKE!!! CHEAT!!! ING!!!
*Dove and Sky let him go, and Jaune falls to the floor, holding his body in pain until he loses consciousness*
Russel (picking him up by his collar): We’re not done with you yet, you piece of trash.
Dove (scared): Um…Russel? I think we should run.
Russel: Why? It’s just Jaune! He can’t do anything against us if he’s in a whole heap of pain!
Sky (gulping): Th-That’s not who we’re t-talking about…
Russel: Ugh. You guys are the worst. C’mon, Jaune hasn’t done anything to-
Dove: WE’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT JAUNE!!!
Russel (being a fucking idiot): Oh, really? Then who’s this person we’re talking about and what’s he or she gonna do to us? Gonna tattle on us? Gonna show ol’ Jaunie-boy here pity? Snap my neck? What’s this person gonna- *Starts sweating* Hoo, is it me? Or did it suddenly get hot in- *Gets grabbed by the back of the neck* HRCK!
Yang (eyes red, with seething, literal burning anger): …You had me at snapping your neck.
*SNAP!*
*Russel hits the floor dead, Dove and Sky starting shaking in fear after seeing their fellow teammate die right in front of them*
Sky (on his knees): P-P-Please, Yang Xiao Long! S-Spare us of our lives! We promise not to go near Jaune e-ever again…! W-We’ll also tell Cardin not to hurt Jaune anymore in the future!
Yang (glaring at the two): …You two…
*Yang grabs the two, snaps Dove’s neck, then Sky’s afterwards, then drops their corpses*
Yang (calming down): …don’t have a future.
*4 hours later…*
*Yang is carrying the bodies inside an adult-sized trash can, then dumps the corpses into a Grimm-infested area. The Grimm take notice of this, walk over to the bodies, then start eating and fighting over them*
Yang (smirking): Eat hearty, boys. *Tosses a heart into the pile then runs off*
*1 hour later…*
*Yang is inside Team JNPR’s room, tending to Jaune*
Jaune (slowly recovering, in bandages): Y-Yang, I’ll be fine. I have a semblance that heals me.
Yang (tending his wounds): Nonsense. You look like you need a hug.
Jaune (smiling): Th-That sounds nice…
*Yang gets on the bed and embraces him*
Yang (patting his head): Just let mama Yang handle everything~…
Jaune (blushing): Th-That sounds a little embarrassing…
Yang (concerned): Should I stop?
Jaune (smiling): Did I say that?
Yang (blushing): Mmm~… *Internally* Yes! Oh…YES!!! YES!!! Words cannot describe how badly I’ve wanted this!!! *Eyes slowly start to close*
Jaune (chuckling): Heh. Looks like she fell asleep.
*Ruby peeks her head out the door of Team JNPR’s room*
Jaune (noticing this): Huh?
*Ruby looks at both Jaune and Yang, gives them a thumbs-up, then closes the door*
*The next day…*
Cardin (loudly): ARC!!!
Yang/Jaune (waking up): H-Huh…?
Cardin (angrily): WHERE’S MY TEAM?!? GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!
Jaune (worried): Oh…I don’t even know what he’s talking about…
Yang (shushing Jaune): Sssshhhh…let me handle this. You rest easy now, ladykiller.
Jaune: O-Okay…oh, and Yang?
Yang: Hm?
Jaune (blushing): …Thanks. For what you’ve done for me yesterday.
Yang (blushing): Aw…don’t sweat it, ladykiller. *Blows a kiss to Jaune then leaves* *Internally* YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!! He thanked me! He thanked me comforting him! He thanked me for sticking by him for the rest of the night! He thanked me for murdering Team CRDL’s members and feeding them to the Grimm! And now…
Cardin (seeing Yang): You! Bitch! Where’s Jaune?!
Yang (internally, smiling evilly): He’s about to thank me for murder this one in cold blood. Hm…I don’t think I’ll feed him to the Grimm…
Cardin (angrily): Are you deaf or something?! Where is Jau- *Yang grabs his mouth and muffles him*
Yang (glaring at him): I know exactly what to do with you.
*3 hours pass as Yang drags Cardin near a river leading towards a waterfall*
Yang (smirking): Now then… *pins Cardin against a tree*
Cardin (muffled): Mmmph! Mmmph! *Yang unmuffles him* W-What are you going to do to me?
Yang (with empty eyes): The same thing I did to your teammates.
Cardin (eyes widened): Y-Y-You! You murdered my-
*Yang rushes him against a VERY spiky tree branch, impaling him through the heart as he coughs out blood*
Yang (crossing her arms): Maybe you’ll learn not to be such an asshole in the next life. Goodbye, Cardin. I’ll be sure to tell everybody that you died the way you lived: Like a poor excuse of a human being.
*Cardin draws his final breath, Yang slides him out of the branch, then shoves his body into the river until it reaches the waterfall*
Yang (squinting at the now-dead Cardin): Nobody hurts my ladykiller.
*3 hours pass as Team RWBY and JNPR are hanging at the cafeteria*
Yang (spoonfeeding Jaune): Open wide~!
*Jaune obliges, and Yang continues to feed him*
Ruby: Is it me, or has things gotten quieter around her ever since Team CRDL disappeared all of a sudden? It’s at this point, we would watch them bullying any faunus, but they don’t seem to be around!
Pyrrha (concerned): Hm, that’s true…also, Yang, don’t you think you’ve been extra clingy to Jaune lately?
*Yang glares murderous daggers at her, Ruby takes notice of this and takes Pyrrha’s attention away*
Ruby (sliding in): SO! Uh, Pyrrha! What do you love doing for fun? *Looks at Yang, winks at her, then looks back a Pyrrha*
Pyrrha (distracted): Oh! Well, I love to-
Yang (smiling, internally): That’s my baby sister. I love you so much.
Jaune (confused): Huh?
Yang: Now, back to important matters at hand! Open wide, ladykiller~! *Holds up a spoon of food*

Dad!Levi x Mom!Reader ~ Run Pt. 2
Warning: Cursing, Slight Angst at the end
Summary: You spend a few days with Levi and your friends still in the forest, one night you recieve news that the Scouts were no longer criminals
A/N: If there's any grammar mistakes please excuse them, I've started to write fanfiction after midnight and I become tired when I'm reading over it for mistakes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You woke up to birds chirping and quiet chatter from around you, opening your eyes you glanced down to your side where Rose was supposed to be sleeping only to find her not there. Shooting up like a bullet you failed to notice everyone was already awake including your two daughters. "Mommy I'm here don't worry" Rose came out from behind the tree holding a bunch of flowers she picked in her little hand "o-oh I thought you went off by yourself" you chuckled dryly to your young child who giggled and walked over to Sasha and Connie who were eating a cooked fish. You could see Levi sitting by the small river on a large stone talking to Isabelle, probably bitching about people they don't like since you usually catch them doing it.
"Good morning Y/N" Armin chirped to you as you stretched a little "good morning Armin, mornin' Mikasa" you greeted him and the girl who stood next to him. "You both get enough sleep?" you asked them as they both nodded "what about you? How are you holding up?" Mikasa replied while you shrugged "I'm alright, nothing to worry about here" you snickered as she nodded. "Well looks like someone is finally awake!" a teasing voice came from behind you, immediately knowing who it belonged to you rolled your eyes playfully turning around to face Jean who wore a devious grin "well good morning to you too.... JEAN BOYYYYY!!" you shouted to him before laughing, hearing Armin and Mikasa titter from behind you. "Jean boyy!" Sasha called out from across the little river making you laugh harder. "Oh shut up potato girl" Jean growled before facing you "if you want it that way, fine Y/N this means war" he snickered before appearing next to you and leaning on your shoulder trying to imitate your voice " 'Oh Captain Levi! I am a damsel in distress oh please save me my knight in shining armor! ' "Jean exclaimed gaining Rose's and Isabelle's attention as they watched you both.
Frowning you shot him a glare as a pink blush dusted your cheeks "sorry what was that? I couldn't hear you over the attempts of you trying to impress Mikasa" you snickered as Jean's eye twitched. "Oh I'm sorry! What was that Y/N? I didn't hear you over the fact that you never stop fawning over the Captain!" Jean shot back frowning.
Isabelle nudged Levi's side resulting in him looking to her in confusion, the only response he got was a gesture towards you and Jean trying to embarrass and insult each other. "I've actually never seen this side of mom before... It's strange but funny" Isabelle mutters as she and Levi both watch you and Jean torment each other.
Armin was now clinging onto your arm to try restrain you after Jean said that you pissed yourself on your first expedition out loud. Boy were you furious at him. "YOU SAID YOU WOULD NEVET SPEAK OF IT AGAIN YOU BITCH!" you screeched in horror to the male who laughed at your expression. "Oh well at least we know who won this war right Y/N?" Jean snickered before you sent him a death glare. "You should really stop drawing pictures of Mikasa and leaving them around in the dorm Jean Boy!" you watched his face drop in terror as he paled "fine I give up you win" Jean pouted in disappointment. "Momma bear wins again!" you say proudly as Rose claps excitedly from beside you "great job mommy! Here, have a flower!" Rose smiled as she placed a flower behind your ear. "Thank you sweetie~" you sang to her kissing her forehead.
Rose was a very innocent and kind child, she would always make sure you, Levi and everyone else was happy or she'd try to cheer them up. You could tell she would be a kind young woman when she grows up. Isabelle was quite the daddy's girl, she would be interested in fighting, the Military and topics related to it. She had the personality of her father and wouldn't hesitate to jump into a fight if she wanted.
Getting lost in thought Levi didn't notice you and Rose arriving in front of him until you waved a hand in front of him "Leviii? Helllooo? You there or are you in cloud 9?" you joked hearing Isabelle snicker as Levi's gaze darted up to meet yours. "What?" he asked as you placed your hands on your hips "what's the plan for today cap?" you smirk at him "we're waiting for Hanji to return with news on the MP situation in the capital, we may be closer to not being considered as criminals anymore" Levi says as Rose sat on his knee. "Right..Well thanks for bringing me up to date anyway" you say watching Rose hand a flower to Levi and Isabelle as he bounces her on his knee. "Has... The whole house been destroyed..?" Levi asks quietly looking at you, sighing you nod "currently we're homeless, quite literally since we are in a forest" you snicker at your own joke as Levi playfully rolls his eyes.
"I'll sort the housing situation out with Historia once we get her and Eren back" Levi says as you shake your head. "Nope you can leave that to me mister! You'll probably threaten her or something" you smile to Levi who clicks his tongue "probably... Fine.. You do it then" he says knowing you won't give up until he agrees.
// Time Skip - 4 hours later \\
You watched the sunset over the hill through a gap in the trees, E/C orbs watching the blazing mass of fire and heat slowly disappear over the hills, hearing rustling of grass come up from behind you-you were soon joined by Levi who sat next to you in silence. A few minutes passed and Levi broke the silence "Sasha wants to bring you hunting for food for dinner, you know, since it's animals and all that shit so.." Levi spoke as you nodded your head laying back on the grass lookin up to the darkening sky starting to be speckled with stars. "I'll go with her in a minute.. I'm just watching the view you know?" you reply as Levi nods looking over your features, sighing he tore his silver orbs off you "I'm sorry I brought you and the kids into this mess... You three were doing just fine" he mumbles in guilt, shooting up you look at him. "Don't dare blame yourself for us being dragged into this shit, it's not your fault, it's more of my fault since I disgarded the thought of all scouts being labelled as wanted, that included the ones who retired. It's my fault not yours so don't beat yourself up over it" you say as your mother tone kicks in. Levi shakes his head running a hand through his dark hair "If Hanji wasn't there when those pigs had you at gunpoint you and the girls would be dead, I should have fucking been there to protect you three like a good father and husband" he bites his lip as I wrap my arms around him. "Nonono Levi what did I say about beating yourself up over it? What are you talking about? You're a brilliant father! The girls love and admire you! Don't forget you're an amazing husband, you've protected us and supported us more than I can count" you exclaim to him. Holding Levi in your embrace as you rocked gently back and forward.
"Now I'm going to go hunting with Sasha and we're going to get everyone dinner for tonight, if I come back and you're still beating yourself up over it you'll have to listen to me rant about how great of a father and husband you are for god knows how long, ya hear me?" you couldn’t help the smile that tugged on your lips as you pulled you both up, resting both your hands on his shoulders. "Let momma bear take care of daddy bear and the cubs for tonight" you giggle as Levi smiles a little before leaning in and kissing your lips, kissing back you nip his lower lip before pulling away. "Now come on soldier boy, let's go back to the others" you say holding his hand and dragging him back to the others.
// Time Skip - After Dinner \\
You and Sasha managed to score a deer and hauled it back to camp where you gained some surprised faces. "Mom is that one of Santa's reindeers!? Did you kill one" Rose exclaims on the verge if tears thinking you killed Rudolf or something. "No she didn't Rose, Santa's reindeers live In the North Pole remember?" Levi instantly soothes the young girl as she clings to him.
The deer actually tasted really nice and Rose even ate it. Leaving everyone with full stomachs and tired minds, Armin and the others began going to bed. "Rose you can stay with me tonight up in the tree yeah?" Isabelle offered as Rose nodded excitedly to sleep in the tree with her big sister.
Gaining some remaining heat from the campfire you heard the light snores from all around you, presuming everyone was asleep you stayed up getting as much heat from the dying flames. That didn't last long until arms sneakily wrapped around your waist as you felt someone digging their head into the crook of your neck, catching a glimpse of Levi's raven hair you calmed down as he cuddled into you. You could hear Levi let out a low growl from behind you "what was that you were saying earlier? 'Let momma bear take care of daddy bear and the cubs for tonight'? Looks like you already done your part now why don't we switch roles... Let me take care of you tonight" Levi whispers before biting on your neck making you squeak. Standing up Levi pulled you up before dragging you a little bit away from the camp. "Levi where are we going?" you ask as he leads the way "tch.. Don't worry" was all he responded with.
// Next Day \\
You sat at the trunk of a tree watching Sasha and Connie talk to your daughters, Isabelle seemed to have a blush on her cheeks which made you snicker seeing how she formed a crush on Connie. Levi was out collecting sticks and twigs incase you needed to start a fire with Mikasa and Jean. Armin fishing in the river and you just sat there chilling, not really in the mood since you were sore from last night so you didn't fancy probably embarrassing yourself in front of everyone.
Noticing figures approaching in the distance made you quirk an eyebrow soon recognising them as Levi, Mikasa and Jean coming back with firewood you could hear Levi order them to drop it in a pile where the last camp-fire was situated.
Soon enough the darkness of night begun to creep up and arrive that signalling dinner time, luckily you managed to catch a rabbit but immediately got attached to the white fluffy animal and quickly be-friended it.
Now resulting in you holding the litte creature to your chest as everyone stared at you like a hungy pack of wolves. "Y/N hand over the rabbit" Jean said reaching for it, scurrying backwards your back his against the tree. "Cone on Y/N it'll be quick and easy, it won't feel a thing" Connie tries as you shake your head pouting. Levi walked past them giving you a fed up expression "Y/N give it." he said squinting his eyes down to you holding out his hand. Wrapping the small ball of fluff in your arms protectively you refuse Levi which makes him frown at you. "Y/N it won't feel a thing, just hand it over" Levi attempted once more before you sighed and gently passed the small bunny to Levi, holding it by the stomach with one hand he turned his back to you. A few seconds later you heard a firm snap making you flinch as the rabbit dangled from Levi's grip on it's ears.
You literally had to force yourself to eat a part of the cooked rabbit which made you gag, rabbits had been your favourite animal since you were young. Managing to befriend one then have it immediately die a few minutes later upset you. Once you finished eating your friend you laid against a tree outside the small circle of people eating your little friend. Not long after Hanji appeared with Moblit with news on the whole government issue. The fake king had been exposed and the scouts were no longer criminals. Watching everyone jump and shout for joy including your two daughters, sitting in the background watching them celebrate you knew since the fake king has been exposed, the mission to retake Wall Maria will be happening once everyone regroups meaning you will have to leave Levi for another while without seeing him.
That could last god knows how long, and it's Wall Maria for bloody sake! The place is full of titans! This made you feel even more sick to the bottom of your stomach with worry about your husband and friends.
You had to admit, not seeing Levi for a few weeks upset you, getting to be reunited with him for under a week made you happy but the thought of having him leave again broke you since there's a chance he might not come back one day.
