2024 Fic Writer End of Year Roundup ✨
Answer and then tag three or more creators to keep the game going!
I was tagged by @skyfallscotland!
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
AO3 says 391,280 but I think that includes the entirety of sitq, so we can probably knock 40 or 50k off of that.
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
8!
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
Everything currently posted is complete! I do have one still in the drafts though.
4. What was your favourite thing you wrote?
storm in the quiet, hands down. I love that fic beyond words.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
Probably flower bud in concrete? It tackles topics I didn’t expect to touch but I ended up liking it a lot.
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
somehow i still love you more is one of my most kudos-ed fics, which is insane since it’s less than 1k!
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
Always and forever my beloved void of all composure. I don’t care that it’s rarepair and a threesome I LOVE HER.
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
Anyone who’s doing not-AI art is always an inspiration! I unfortunately don’t keep up with too many artists 😭
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
@skyfallscotland literally kept me going and writing some days. I wouldn’t have survived without her. @widebrimmedhatsblog always makes me want to push the envelope and write something different.
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
@caeli0306 is amazing!
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
Sure didn’t!
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
Finishing storm in the quiet. Just being here. Writing and creating when it was hard.
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
Take a break!!! It doesn’t go anywhere.
14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?
Write for you. You have to love it first and forever.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
Mostly just to keep creating. I’d love to finish a complete draft of one of my original novel ideas.
I think this has made its rounds with basically everyone in our tiny little fandom and I am (as always) slow, so no tags, just leaving it open to anyone and everyone!

2024 Fic Writer End of Year Roundup
Thank you @crazy-ache for tagging me!
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
232,213
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
26
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
Three. I have my Nesta gets a gun fic ( I SWEAR i’ll finish it lol), my regency snowbaird fic called How to Restore a Duke’s Fortune, and my elucien fic A Court of Sight and Tulips
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
It’s probably my Eris Vanserra one-shots here. I managed to make Eris insanely cunty and hot😩
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
I mean honestly, anything smutty that I wrote (which isn’t much). I’m ace spectrum so I generally don’t read much smut and writing it is a pain, but I’m getting the hang of it now!
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
Honestly surprised that all my Azris/Eris Vanserra content was so popular (thank you @talibunny30 for commenting on my fic❤️) so I guess this means I’m writing more azris in 2025!
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
I wasn’t expecting a whole lot of engagement because it’s a little niche, but I am OBSESSED with my story The Illyrian Princess. It’s about Emerie fighting for the Illyrian women and it also features one of my favorite rarepairs Emerie/Nuan!
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
@thrumbolt @copypastus @works-of-heart @majuandrad @lucychanart @sad-scarred-sassy @dimalry I love y’all’s art you’re SO fucking talented and you make me scream with every piece you make!
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
@positivelyruined @crazy-ache @olenvasynyt @sad-scarred-sassy y’all make me SCREAM with every word you write💕💕💕
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
Pretty much everyone is new to me because I’m very new to fandom LOL
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
YES. I wrote When the Steam Settles with my wife @sonics-atelier , which is Rhysand x Cassian plus a little bit of Azriel! It started because we were kind of joking around about how homosexual some of the things the bat boys said to each other were, and we were making jokes of things that would happen between them and then we got the idea to actually write a scene with them!
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
I used to quickly post my fics without editing them because I was afraid I’d chicken out and cringe at what I wrote, but I’m finally rereading and editing my fics now (which basically started bc i wanted my secret santa gift to be perfect)!
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
That kudos and comments are not reflective of quality. I know people say that a billion times, but it’s true and something i still need to internalize. I’ll write the most jaw dropping fic and have 2 kudos and a comment and then I’ll write some shit while high at 2 AM and get 70 kudos overnight. I can assure you that at least one person enjoyed your fic and you should write it for yourself and that one person who loves your stuff :)
14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?
Try not to overwhelm your writing with nonstop dialogue or nonstop description. If you find yourself doing one of those things, change something up. If you have too much dialogue, describe facial expressions or a shifting in posture. If you have too much description, add a small conversation.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
To finish my WIPs, LOL
Tagging @kateprincessofbluewhales @positivelyruined @sonics-atelier whoever wants to do this!

2024 Fic Writer End of Year Roundup
Thanks for tagging me @somanywords! Sorry it took a minute to respond. Anyway, I am currently in a state of wanting to write but being exhausted due to post-juggling festival collapse + bad sleep, so I will talk about writing instead of actually writing! Anyway @agentsnickers @we-are-inevitable @chair-in-a-ditch if you would also like to do this feel free to join in!
How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
AO3 tried to claim 207,722 words, but that felt inaccurate so I double-checked and it turns out AO3 was counting the entirety of HIWB towards 2024 so I checked the word count from the back half of HIWB in the document and I posted about 108,144 words to AO3 this year!
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
10, apparently (of wildly varying lengths)! Unfortunately the juggling AU is still not complete :(
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
4, I think? I have the juggling au, the camp au, and two bachelorette one-shots that may or may not end up being finished (one is more likely than the other, but it needs some revision to make the plot more cohesive).
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
Excluding HIWB/the bachelorette au, probably It turns my head inside out, which features high school age UKsies Sprace realizing they're both bi! I had so much fun with UKsies Spot and leaning into the Vermont of it all.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
There are a few, for various reasons: give me years (and i'll want more time) for the sole reason that it is my second-ever non-Newsies fic (outside of my cursed English class Shakespeare mashup, that is); all dressed up for someone you never see since it was my first venture into present tense in a while and was a series of fairly introspective vignettes; and Got these itchy feet for a change of scene since it was not focused on any sort of interpersonal relationship and also was outside my usual preferred genre.
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
Reception: Be a little boulder. People really liked it!
While writing: I've mentioned this before, but in the Men Tell All chapter of HIWB I was writing a scene between Spot and Race and they kind of took on minds of their own and I didn't realize until I looked at the page and realized that what I had to write next was very much not what I had planned.
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
(sling)shot through the heart! It was for last winter's fic exchange, and it was not necessarily a broadly appealing fic (i.e. it is focused on a less commonly written platonic relationship), but I had fun writing it and the person I was writing for really appreciated it.
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
@agentsnickers' Clarence Plumber art lives rent-free in my head tbh. I am never not thinking about him and also about Katherine and her relationship to gender and gender presentation.
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
Uhhhh I do not know if I have a good answer for this unfortunately :(
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
I started reading 911 fic this year, so some authors there? I've been really enjoying lesbianrobin's fic second child, restless child, and I've also read so much of letmetellyouaboutmyfeels' backlog of 911 fic.
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
@echofive7567 was the artist I worked with for the Newsies mini bang, so yes! I did technically do a collaboration! Also, Finn and Alex continue to contribute brain cells to the very important cause that is me writing my silly gay fanfiction when it comes to figuring out plot points and such.
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
Finishing How It Will Be! It is over 150,000 words! It was my first time writing a throuple! I wrote a rarepair! I balanced a very large cast of characters! I researched locations and flight schedules and activities! I wrote some very dramatic fight scenes! And people seemed to like it!
A smaller thing I'm proud of is that I have written 1/5 of the fics in the Crutchie/Albert tag on AO3 >:)
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
It's okay to write slowly. After finishing the bachelorette au at a rate of about one chapter/month (where most of the chapters were over 10,000 words), I'm pretty tired.
14. Any advice you'd like to share with new or aspiring writers?
I know a lot of my writing friends are pantsers rather than planners, so they might disagree with me, but if you're writing something that is a) multichapter and/or b) over about 10,000 words, PLAN👏YOUR👏FIC👏OUT👏 (at least a little bit). I cannot tell you how many times I've lost steam because I knew how it started and knew how it ended but could not figure out what happened in the middle. You don't have to be like me (My multichapter fics have several tables involved to keep track of chapters/separate plotlines/POVs/dates/characters/god knows what else) or the one author whose event I went to that said she uses Microsoft Excel to plan her novels, but like. figure out some of what goes on in the middle of the story?
My less controversial advice is to 1) read your dialogue out loud when you're editing, and 2) use paragraph breaks early and often.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
Finish the juggling au! Maybe finish the camp au! Write something set in canon era! Maybe do something for that NTMD challenge I reblogged! The world is my fancy clam with the pearl inside!

Commentary: On DreadRook, Enemies-to-Lovers, & Future Dragon Age Romances
Here's what I think about DreadRook, enemies-to-lovers (+slowburn), and what can be learned from these in future DA/Bioware games.
Buckle up. This is a long yap. And spoilers ahead.
Tumblr media
(Note: This commentary was written with a non-romanced Solas world state in mind. No othermances were harmed in the making of this post.)
"DreadRook had so much potential."
I think it's really interesting how most, if not all, of the tiny fandom of DreadRook (AKA Solrook, Rooklas) collectively agree that what content we had in-game, as little as it may be, is only the beginning of their potential enemies-to-lovers romance.
I based this observation on the majority Rook/Solas fics on AO3 written as of this post. Many of them are either fix-it fics wherein Rook or Solas go back to DA: Inquisition times/pre-prologue, or post-"bad ending" in which the two are sucked into the Veil together. Others include a twist on the redemption ending, but so far, most of the fics repeatedly juggle between these two themes (not that I'm complaining. In fact, keep them coming. I will EAT them up regardless).
And this potential wasn't just observed within the small circle of shippers too. Actually, I discovered DreadRook (which I've then been calling as SolRook) because of TikTok edits of those clips where Solas and Rook have so much tension. You know what they are. Then I've been driven to finally play the game because I've read enough tweets on X/Twitter that point out their chemistry.
Even today, I actually still see new tweets that point out the Rook/Solas chemistry every now and then. Maybe one day I'll compile them and pin them on a board.
That said, I'm sure that everyone in the DR fandom also agree and are keenly aware that Solas and Rook's relationship is unlikely to receive further recognition in any official post-DA: The Veilguard content. Even the acknowledgment by the devs is already a long shot. The chances are simply closer to impossible, with Veilguard having already been written with the elven Inquisitor ending as canon/"best ending" in mind. And though DR's dynamic has so much untapped potential, such is the nature of rarepairs.
But it doesn't mean the enemies-to-lovers potential can never be used in future DA games, or even in other Bioware franchises.
Tumblr media
Thing is, the appeal of enemies-to-lovers (hereafter referred to as EtL) as a trope, especially in the context of DreadRook, also lies in its build-up and intrigue. I'm very firm in my opinion that EtL romances work best as a slowburn. So to me, DreadRook's charm comes from the fact that the content we received in Veilguard adheres to the unspoken rules of both the slow burn and enemies-to-lovers tropes—for us shippers, though, since we don't have much content, the development of the rest of their relationship can be molded however we like (not like this should really be a positive thing; we just don't really have content other than crumbs and silently-agreed-upon headcanons).
This slowburn aspect is among the many reasons why I love EtL DreadRook fics so much. As mentioned earlier, Veilguard DR is at the "beginning" stage of said EtL romance. I found an article that perfectly puts it into stages, namely:
Making an enemy
The "clash"
A shift in the air
Being vulnerable ← where the DreadRook content in Veilguard stops right before, or depending on one's headcanon it may be somewhere shortly after
Losing for love
Lovers at last
However, if not laid out properly, this kind of EtL+slowburn formula will need to rely on the fans' imagination. In most cases, that isn't a good thing.* As blunt as it may sound, writers who want to pull off these tropes in a video game need to craft the romance carefully and serve it to the fans on a golden platter—since they only get one chance to deliver it.
In other words, good writing & execution (with enough time) are essential to "cook" an enemies-to-lovers dynamic at just the right temperature, not just in a video game—slow enough to build tension, but clear enough to feel intentional. This way, shippers don't have to fill in the gaps themselves, and non-shippers can still understand the chemistry and where the ship is coming from without being forced to imagine it on their own.
How could DreadRook have been written?
Tumblr media
We need to accept that Veilguard is part of a game series where the MC doesn't carry over to the next installment; unlike an ongoing literary series with a consistent protagonist, there's no opportunity to further develop or refine the romance in future works. So, DreadRook's EtL slowburn would've never worked under normal circumstances, because it had to be stuck in a Dragon Age game. (/j)
But let's say there's a universe where a non-DAI romanced Solas is romanceable to Rook in Veilguard. I still think I would've been more critical; giving it so much flak because it was probably a very rushed EtL romance.
See, EtL—as in ENEMIES, not just misunderstood rivals—is one of the hardest romance tropes to pull off. And in video games, this, alongside slowburn, is even more impossible within a span of just one game. Think about it—the best-known EtLs in literary fiction series (see examples) are where the romance/love story (will start calling it "love story" to distinguish from the other stages of EtL hereafter) only actually takes off in the second book onwards. Because the love interest spends time being AN ENEMY in the first book.
Had DreadRook been an option, Veilguard's entire main campaign would've only been allotted for the ENEMIES part alone. Unless, of course, the romance was rushed, which would've been worse than the already-lacking romances that we had in-game (when compared to DAI, that is).
To lay out the existing in-game DreadRook content with the six stages of EtL to my own understanding, that would be:
Making an enemy → Prologue
The "clash" → Prologue to pre-Seige of Weisshaupt
A shift in the air → Seige of Weisshaupt to Blood of Arlathan**
Being vulnerable → Blood of Arlathan**
Losing for love → None
Lovers at last → Ofc, none
**Even then, I'm already being too considerate with these divisions, because there isn't actually a proper "shift in the air" and moments of genuine vulnerability since Solas spends most of the game trying to trick Rook. lol. And I wouldn't really count DreadRook on or after Isle of Gods anywhere on the list; Solas & Rook go back to the second stage up to the ending.
So where does the future of Bioware romance come into place here?
Tumblr media
How do we write an effective enemies-to-lovers romance for this hypothetical universe where DreadRook is real, and in our universe where it doesn't, but can be used as a lesson for future DA+BW games?
The short answer: Have the romance pay off in the ending OR a well-crafted DLC.
The long answer:
One of the greatest challenges of an EtL romance in a game like Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the limited timeframe in which the story can unfold. Unlike ongoing series where arcs can be expanded over multiple installments, Bioware games tend to have a self-contained narrative for each main character.
This means the relationship’s progression—especially one as layered as an EtL slowburn—needs to be carefully paced and given a satisfying conclusion within the constraints of a single title.
Like I said, even Veilguard's length isn't enough time to develop the love story in the EtL story. And the foundation of an impactful enemies-to-lovers story lies in three essential elements: tension, evolution, and payoff; with the DR content we have that exists, that only fills in tension and pre-evolution. (there are many articles*** out there already that expound this "foundation", so I won't for this post)
This is where the idea of the romance paying off in the ending comes in. An ending provides a definitive closure. Since the love story part of an EtL doesn't actually pay off in the middle of the story (i.e. where they're supposed to have "an understanding"), it must be done in or near the ending. Whether it's reconciliation, sacrifice, or even an open-ended "what could be," this can give the players a sense of completion that solidifies the romance as a core part of the story.
I mean, romance as the main plot <<<< romance as a subplot, amirite?
----- (NOTE: You can skip this if you don't want to read a writing suggestion for DreadRook in DATV's ending). -----
DreadRook in Veilguard already kind of has that with the Redemption, Trick/Fight, and Sacrifice endings. If you think about it, the fifth EtL stage of "losing for love" can start by the time Solas sends Rook to the Fade prison—I have to emphasize "kind of" here because it does require a bit of more headcanon without an actual romance material in-game—but since he tricked them, it resets back to the second stage of "the 'clash'" (cue enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers to enemies to--). Of course, when Rook gets out of the Fade prison, and Solas starts yapping about regretting tricking them, this prompts the "I liked working with you" dialogue option:
Tumblr media
It won't be intimate, but it's a start and a confirmation that Rook had developed feelings, perhaps trust and friendship more than love, between their partnership. Had there been more moments in between, they could reset back to the fifth stage just fine—which happens when Solas fights Elgar'nan's archdemon.
"The fifth stage is where the characters will prove their dependability and trustworthiness to one another through their actions."
And the payoff could be a choice in the final moments—suffice that Rook picks dialogue options that get his approval—where they to decide whether to side with the already-injured Solas: to risk everything and join him in a potentially doomed future of the Veil finally torn down (which the bad ending should've been, TBH), or walk away to preserve their moral compass and save the world. Depending on the player's choice, the ending is amplified by Rook parting ways with Solas, but with the hope that they may one day reconcile (Redemption), or they could end up in a passionate, but tragic union (BAD ENDING!) where they both become the sacrifices for the Veil.
If the player is too angry at Solas to continue the romance, then the trick/fight choices remain as other options.
This might not have the luxury of a traditional romance arc, but with that kind of payoff, the players are left with an actual resolution, regardless of the bittersweetness. (That's ENEMIES-TO-LOVERS for you!)
----- (End of DreadRook endings yapping.) -----
Then there's the DLC. A DLC, on the other hand, offers something unique: time.
A DLC/post-game content can allow the writers to revisit and deepen the relationship without disrupting the pacing of the main game. Inquisition's Trespasser also does this for Solas's romance, albeit in a tragic way. If the love story part of the romance paid off in the main ending, the DLC could explore the aftermath of this reconciled romance to see how the dynamic evolves under new circumstances. Heck, if the player character doesn't want to romance the villain by this point, then they can simply have a reconciled friendship route be the other option.
Or simply just have the fifth and sixth stages of the EtL ("losing for love" & "lovers at last") in the DLC. In this way, having all the love stuff for the enemy/antagonist/villain not be a focus of the main campaign and just pay off in the aftermath can serve as both a reward for invested fans and an opportunity to further flesh out the romance for those who weren't initially on board.
So I hope they change their mind and release a DLC where a non-romanced Solas can be flirted with by Rook in the Fade or OR a continuation of the "bad ending" where they sacrifice each othe— *gunshot*
Tumblr media
Honestly though: I really do just want a Bioware game where we can romance the antagonist as long as the progression feels intentional and complete. Rather than a series of unresolved moments left to the fans' imagination. Veilguard gave us DreadRook shippers just enough to ignite the fire, but Bioware has the tools to stoke it into something unforgettable. If they can balance character-driven storytelling with fan engagement, they have the chance to redefine what an enemies-to-lovers arc can look like in gaming (looking at you, ME5. Or DA5...?).
DreadRook in Veilguard may remain a dream, a rarepair even, but the potential it left can be an essential lesson for any future Dragon Age or Bioware romances. So if they ever think about writing an antagonist as a romance option, they have another chance until their next game. Use DreadRook as their pointers. And I will give them my whole bank savings for it.
Much to think about.
Commentary footnotes:
*This is partly why I didn't particularly enjoy the Solas romance in Inquisition. IIRC, Solas has some of the least amount of romance content in the game. As such, the "rest" of the content, especially in the events between DAI+Trespasser & DATV, relies heavily on the shippers' headcanons. This doesn't mean it's a bad romance—DreadRook DOES rely heavily on headcanon, but that's because it's not an actual romance option in comparison lol—it's just that this might work for others, but not myself.

I'm sorry this isn't a question but I seriously want to thank you for the Radcha fanfics you've written. They're a bit older now but I go back and read them feeling just as giddy as I did when I first discovered them. I've been brainrotten about Raditz x Yamcha for a few years but it's coming back full-force and your fics are always appreciated <3
Tumblr media
Oh my gosh, you're so welcome! Gosh, it has been awhile, hasn't it? I think around nine years since I first started posting them? But I still love them so much - DBZ turned out to be a huge milestone fandom for me that taught me SO MUCH about writing! And Radcha, my precious li'l rarepair! It's going to be a source of pride to me for the rest of my life that I was insane enough about a pairing that AO3 got a new ship tag over it. And other people have written for it since then, I'm not over half the tag's content anymore - how cool is that?! And you're still enjoying them so much, even now? That makes me so happy to hear, and I'm happy to have been able to provide something enjoyable for this rarepair hell we're both in. ^U^ <3 <3 <3
Thanks for the ask!

Tell us about the rarepair that got discovered by the show’s writers!
Hear that? That's the sound of all of my mutuals groaning, because
NEW PERSON ASKING ABOUT BUGBEAR~
(Also, technically it was the comic writers, but same difference lmao)
Okay... *Cracks her knuckles and her neck loudly* SO-
Tumblr media
(Art by @hansuart)
This is BugBear, aka Jewel the Beetle and Bark the Polar Bear. I've been losing my absolute mind over this rarepair for... Two years now?
The two have NEVER canonically met, but the pair was inspired by @bitter-sweet-coffee reminding me this moment exists in the IDW Sonic comics:
Tumblr media
(Jewel is 2'7" tall, that is Storm the Albatross holding her in that panel, he stands at 4'7" tall. Bark himself is 5'11" tall. This is all important to the madness.)
BSC and I had set out to make a gag ship for laughs initially. How funny would it be to see tiny Jewel paired up with one of the 4 foot plus, muscular characters? It'd be COMICAL-
Until we settled on Bark, and it instantly quit being funny.
Jewel is an anxious sweetheart, and Bark is a shy, soft spoken gentle giant. Both of them have crazy best friends they desperately attempt to wrangle (with little success). They deserve a quiet relationship where they don't have to constantly be on and ready for the other to do something completely insane and potentially dangerous.
Jewel would be a little afraid of Bark upon first meeting him, but she'd see the real him and warm up eventually.
Speaking of warming up, I like to play with the fact that the Sonic characters are animals and bring in what species are cold blooded and warm blooded into my shipping shenanigans. Who would make a better cuddle buddy than A MASSIVE POLAR BEAR???
Checkmate. 😎😂
We only have two fics right now over on AO3. One I'm writing (When the Day Met the Night), the other written by my lovely friend @stillafanofsonic . I will link to theirs, it's a one shot, vs my multichapter nonsense.
So, as for it being discovered by the comic writers... I took a brief peek at your blog and didn't see anything to indicate if you're in the Sonic fandom, so I will keep this brief. Ian Flynn is one of the main writers on the IDW Sonic comics. He also runs a podcast called the BumbleKast, and back on Valentine's Day they made the BOLD DECISION to discuss shipping. Oh boy...
Their guest... Commentator? (I don't go to podcasts typically, not certain what the terminology is for what the speakers are called. 🤷) @/pedanticat (Not sure if they want the tag, so I will spare them from being part of this essay for now.) brought up the ship during the episode, having either seen it floating around on here, or over on Twitter when I posted some art by hansuart and @seagull-scribbles (both posted with permission) over there. And like... BugBear isn't like some other rarer Sonic ships where a couple people might've had the idea independently of each other and it's hard to gauge who got there first. Unless I'm missing someone or something, I'M the first person to mention it, and the art that does exist of it exists because I infected the artists with the same brainrot... So... Oops...
The ship was brought up during the question at 46:03 (Have you ever seen shipping fanart of two Sonic characters that made you go "Huh, I never thought of that pairing, but I could see it working"?) But the exact timestamp it comes into discussion is at 49:11. "A crackship that isn't too crazy" was the verdict. I will take it and be annoying about it forever:
youtube
So, long story short... (TOO LATE!), that's how I made a rarepair that got discovered by the main comic people. 😎
Thank you for the question, I'm sorry you got an essay lmao.

16. 💞 A fic that led to you making friends with the author
ah WELL ! although i cannot think of too many fics that directly led me to becoming friends with the author (i dont think?? maybe i should work on my commenting skills?!) i can recall of a couple of fics i read and either commented on or recced before ever really knowing the authors, and then later blahblah on tumblr or whatever eventually DID get to know the authors & discover what lovely people they are :) :) and those fics are -
1940 by suchsmallhands (@shipsnsails) - literally SUCH a beautiful wwii au ohhhh my god!!
and..
when your teeth meet the flesh by molly @mblematic !! also sooooo good and gorgeous and angsty and has my fave depiction of utterly psycho 11-year-old remus ever

Rarepair Tag Game
Thanks for the tag @danpuff-ao3
Rules: List the top rarepairs that you like outside of your OTP, and why you ship it! (Criteria for what makes a rarepair is up to your own discretion.)
My current OTP is Sirius/Severus and I have made enough noise about them. So here is my other small favourites:
Ginny/Hermione
They are SUCH a good ship? Immaculate friends to lovers. They enjoy each other's company, share secrets, and there is enough tension and complements in how they interact with each other and the world for it to work. Also cannot get over how Hermione says that Harry would notice Ginny if she was bit more "herself"? For Hermione, the very simple but strong belief that Ginny would catch attention of the boy of her dreams by simply being herself. Hermione sees the sun. (I also greatly enjoy the idea of Ginny/Cho and Ginny/Blaise, thanks to @bluethepineapple work for Winter Sun fest)
Rolf/ Luna
Listen, there were few years in my life that I worked for an outdoor company and was surrounded by outdoor guides. These boys (women started coming into the industry very late and in small numbers) are some of the best people you can hang out with: funny, bright, very practical, conscientious. They also have deep rooted anxiety and need for control all the time, and to me, it really fit with the outline of Rolf given in extra canon. He was a good POV to discover Luna, a character who is defined by not being in her physical reality all the time. I wrote them together in an adventure fic and I unashamedly ship my own version of them.
Andromeda/Any Morally Grey Man
Listen, I love Andromeda/ Ted as much as the next person, but I recently read Andromeda/ Rufus Scrimgeour and my jaw dropped? Andromeda is such an interesting outline of a character in canon, and I love the directions fandom has taken with her: keeping her very much an intimidating Black sister, but with softer edges to play with. So here I am going to recommend the incredibly smartly written : A wilder beast from West than all were by eldritcher/ and the interesting take on Andromeda/Rodolphus : Till We have Faces by TeddieJean. I also greatly enjoyed the Andromeda/Lucius from @decemberistafic wonderful "I Awaken With Your Name"
Snape/ Petunia
I read and enjoy lot of Snape fics with various permutations and combinations with him (he is very shippable, and each new characters brings a different side of him) - but I recently read @maria-de-salinas Regretfully Yours and I am utterly charmed by this pairing. I really loved how skillfully the story was written, and how very vulnerable it was! These are the rarepairs I enjoy off the top of my head. Tagging anyone who would like to do this!

Talk Hockey To Me
tagged by: @jonassiegenthighler ty for the tag <3
Tell me about:
1. The thing that got you hooked on hockey
STORY TIME: i moved to canada, just outside of Hockey Capital (Toronto) when I was 9 years old (am 23 rn). so you'd think that i'd have been into hockey since i moved, right, considering that i was surrounded by leafs fans and like a good chunk of guys in my classes growing up were hockey boys?
DEAD WRONG.
all the guys ever cared about are the stats. so i wasn't too too interested in hockey. but i somehow absorb a lil too much info about hockey and the leafs in general but i never got /into/ the sport until my best friend lucy got into hockey like in february/march 2023. the irony is that lucy is from the uk and that's who got me into hockey: not any of the hockey boys I grew up having a crush on (bold of my family and friends to assume i got into hockey to impress a guy lol), not any of the hockey boys I went to high school with and was on good terms with. but my British friend (she’s a real one for it). And Tbf it’s because she talked more about the vibes first before she went into talking about the stats. im not a math person so the stats were like flying over my head. but she sends me videos of their interviews and game highlights and talks about them and i'm like... aight okay let me give this hockey thing a chance.
and here i am.
2. Your first ever fandom friend
definitely lucy (@ draisaitleons) like... she introduced me to the sport, so she's my first ever fandom friend on here.
3. The jersey you would most like to own
ngl i've been eyeing the hischier premier heritage jersey... either that or the black and white jersey one, though i'm leaning more towards the first one.
4. YOUR player (you only get ONE so choose wisely)
who else but nico hischier? tbh i can't even remember how i first heard about him. but i swear it must be all the gif sets i kept seeing when i started following more and more hockey blogs around april/may 2023? then i watched a few of his interviews and was endeared; thought he was cute and a good captain. but what REALLY sold me was when i found out that his birthday is on january 4, which is two days before mine. i was like "oh cool, a fellow capricorn" bc at that point, i'm pretty sure all the hockey players i keep seeing on my dash had birthdays in april and may, so to see a capricorn hockey player i was like... okay okay. so that's also the story behind my tag for him which is "my cap(tain) and fellow cap(ricorn) <3" if anyone was ever curious. then i read up on him; found out he was drafted first overall in 2017 and i just really liked his vibes as a captain and a player, and decided "yep, that's my guy".
5. A pairing that deserves more fic
ooh this is hard but ngl... kailer yamamoto x connor mcdavid. HEAR ME OUT: yes, i know yamo is no longer with the oilers (rip but he seems happier and less stressed out in seattle, so go have fun, king <3) but when i discovered this pairing when i was reading rpf, i was confused at first but i was VIBING! there was this fic i read on ao3 and it hasn't been updated but the premise was that kailer was a single dad, but no one on the team knows except for like one other person. and connor only finds out that kailer's got a kid when he goes into kailer's apartment to drag him to a team bonding. oof, can't wait to read more tbh. but the fic that really sold me on the pairing was connor having a crush on kailer, who had no idea connor was into men (he thought connor and lauren were dating, when they were really just besties) and i was HERE FOR IT.
tl;dr: kailer x connor will be my rarepair that needs more fics.
6. Your favourite on-ice moment
has to be when jack tackles aho back during the playoffs. this lived rent-free in my brain and i was like.... huh... maybe i should check out the new jersey devils if they got a guy who tackles people like this.
THEN
this gif set of travis konecny by lucy !! altho really, any gif sets made by lucy deserve so much more love <333
AND
... tbh i am really really proud of all the gif sets i've been making lately for the nj devils, but!! i gotta shamelessly plug in my latest gif set of my captain nico hischier scoring his first goal of the season with an assist from jack !!

It was really freeing after I stopped overthinking/stressing? Everybody deserves to feel appreciated for their works but that's a different problem and not something which is going to get fixed by one person doing anything. I definitely want to be more like you in IDGAF level but it's going to take me more time to get there/to deprogram :D It's a huge inspiration to me to see your reccing because you write/rec serious rarepairs with really complex power dynamics outside the big OTP juggernaut ships. Seeing your recs and PI's recs were definitely some of the reasons which got me to rethink my feelings of shame/apology about reccing more niche pairings/tropes.
I really love reblogging recs/fic/art! Tumblr is amazing because it's easy to check out new artists/authors/fests compared to AO3 direct. Tbh I discover a ton of new to me authors from Tumblr esp from the fest blogs. I also love getting recs directly from folks!
Reccing is amazing and more folks should do it but without feeling obligated and without feeling like the people you are reccing to feel obligated to love the fics/rec them to others.
2023 lookback!
My HP fic reading in 2023 was oldschool Snarry fics because I didn't really read outside my comfort zone. Experienced a family loss in May. My HP reading after that was pretty much just comfort fics.
My favorite HP fandom thing in 2023 is the hprecfest. Super fun! Scarlet, love you forever for this idea <3 This is incredible and I love getting to read the recs others made.
I read tons of fic in other fandoms. Les Mis, The Witcher, ASoIaF are the big ones. Got to know some new folks from those fandoms and that's been great. Super confident some of them are going to be seriously amazing writers once they get experience. The talent is already there!! :D So hyped! Read a lot of books outside my comfort zone because of the new fandoms. Also met some fandom folks in real life and it was amazing fun. I got to go to NYC to meet them which was wow.
Crossed 1000 recs! :D
Biggest lesson for me was that I have a people pleasing problem. I mean I knew that before. But reccing also highlights that problem. Sometimes I felt pressured to rec fics directly by the author/indirectly by their friends. Obviously if I am good at setting boundaries that won't be a thing. Idk maybe it was in my head but anyway I feel like I am learning to set boundaries. My 2023 goal was to rec fics I am 100% in love with + don't feel pressured to rec. I feel like I succeeded on some level. My reccing velocity definitely went down but I don't feel stressed out? Like before I felt stressed a lot because I was feeling pressured about commenting/reccing and kind of felt used sometimes? Anyway maybe it was probably just in my head but it's like that sometimes!
Another lesson for me was to trust my taste/don't apologize for it. I feel sometimes I went with what other folks recommended esp if they were writers because I trusted their taste more? Obviously this is a me problem. I was working on that a lot in 2023. My taste is definitely not perfect or anything but taste is super subjective/personal. I am getting better about not apologizing for my taste because otherwise I was always saying stuff like "this fic is not for everybody/this fic is weird" which was more about me feeling insecure about my taste than about the fic itself.
Also I feel my rec style has improved. I was having real problems with reccing more complicated fics. Getting more experience is definitely helping.
Excited for 2024 fandom!

Want to just put my grain of sand about the deleting fics situation because... IDK it's been rubbing me the wrong way since it started but I exactly didn't know what was causing that. And after seeing the responses of the post where you make the film comparison the reason just snapped at me and it's more anecdotal than factual.
I'm both a writer and a reader. My first fics were poorly written because I was a dumb teenager who saw excessively amounts of popular BL OVAs. After two years of writing in Amor Yaoi I felt... not ashamed, but I didn't want to be associated with the most poorly written fics I did. So I deleted them. No reader came to me asking for them (I actually thought about my readers because it was a tiny rarepair fandom I wrote for —and I feel the "I don't think of the readers" happens in the big fandoms only TBH) so I was at ease.
Ellipse, hiatus were I didn't write shit, I discovered AO3 and started being more interested about archiving and fandom history.
It wasn't 'til last year that my brain clicked and said to me "biiiiiiiiiiitch archive your fics on AO3 what the hell are you waiting for". I opened my Amor Yaoi account and started copy-pasting everything (unfortunately AO3 does the import thing really bad with this damn php site) and something felt off. It wasn't 'til I discovered someone on Wattpad uploaded two of my deleted fics there that I realized what the off feeling was. I don't only feel bad for all the readers that magically found me in recents years and told me "your fics were my faves!!", I don't only feel bad for the archiving fandom history aspect, I also feel bad for myself. I lost record of my own development because I was dumb-dumb enough to not made a offline copy of them (and if I did my computer died without repair nor salvation so yeih! That's a possibility). That and the fact I'd love to make fun of my own shit, I read the ones I imported to AO3 and I was laughing horribly, good job past me.
TBH I suspect I'm not the only one who realized after years what a big oopsie-doo was to delete own fics.
And like... I don't know if it's me (probs are) as I'm really bad reading tones in English, but a lot of responses to the just-sad anons felt... unnecessarily aggressive. Yes, y'all entitled to delete your fics if you want (specially if the reason behind it is harassment but TBH I didn't feel this was the reason people were arguing of) as well as the anon is entitled to feel sad (and somewhat judgy) about the deletion, but the "good thing the fic got deleted just to piss you off anon" alike responses... Man. No, thanks. If I read some parts of the discussion wrong I'd happily accept the corrections since I don't keep track of everything, but some of those responses came off as if the author's point of view is The Truly True Truth of Truths™. I suspect a lot of people didn't have that intention in mind while writing the responses, but that was how I (and probs other) felt them.
IDK, I don't have any conclusions besides the "if you delete your fic you do you, but as a concept and action I'm super against of it (as a reader, as a writer and as someone interested in fandom history who will fight to make a little course at university if possible surrounding the topic) and I'd be better if you orphan them, anonymize them in your own Anonymous collection or put them on a shady hard-to-find website only the Hackers™ will find like some Chinese dōujinshi translators do —it'd also be good to keep this suggestion in consideration: if you put somewhere 'hey I deleted this thing if y'all want a copy just ask me Somewhere™ and I'll pass it to you no problemo' as I've seen it isn't a new way to deal with this situation" one because I'm tired RN.
I expect insults for this ask, so feel free y'all. Oh, and also this is the most interesting (for me at least) discussion that had happened on this blog since the disposable plates one.

I just saw the ask about @bumizumii and the Bumi fandom. I hope they're having fun in a new fandom which appreciates their work, even if it's rarepairing again. I'd doubt we'll see Bumizumi or Bumi content again though, seeing that they're the only fan I know about apart from you. I'm a little angry at them that they left but it's not my place. Do you know anywhere else to get a fix of this ship from? I just discovered it a week ago and it's cute.
AO3 has pretty much all the Bumizumi fanfic, and Tumblr has most if not all of the Bumizumi art, so as far as I know, if you've already seen all of that already, you've seen it all. If you're looking for oodles of content, don't. Such is the nature of rarepairs.
A vast majority of the content was made by one very enthusiastic and very energetic creator, and with them gone...it really doesn't come around anymore. Like at all. I agree, it's a really cute ship with a lot of potential, and as much as I'd love to create more content I don't really have time, personally, to create content for anything right now. If you're looking for Bumi content in general, I know Linumi gets a lot of fics right now - @chiefbeifongcanrailme regularly writes for it, and @orangepanic just posted a Linumi fic, and I think @badlucksav either just posted one or has some up her sleeve.
If you want more content, the next best thing is to try creating yourself. It's an intimidating thought, I know, but if you want to see content, sometimes, you just have to do it yourself. Like Thanos. Be the change you want to see, you know? And besides, it's far more rewarding than you might imagine. At least, it has been for me.

Fic Rec Tag Meme
@sitp-recs, I’m terribly late, but this looked way too fun, so I had to join in. Fair warning, y’all, not everything here is Drarry, or even HP (I am a prolific rarepair shipper/multi-fandomer, and Dron is my OTP 😂), so I’ve added the fandoms and pairings below as well. All of these (and many more!) can also be found on my ficshelf! It was so hard to pick these as it was, I couldn’t help but point you in the right direction for all the ones I (sadly, unfortunately) had to cut from the list, lol.
Anyway, thank you so much for running this tag meme, @sitp-recs! It’s been amazing seeing everyone’s recs and discovering new fics! 🖤
• A fic you love without knowing the source material: He Was a Punk, Pete Did Tabletop Roleplay by @mscaptainwinchester Marvel | Peter/Wade | NC-17 | 7.5k
• A fic with a premise that shouldn’t work but it does: Anthony J. Crowley, Retired Demon and Airbnb Superhost by @theoldaquarian Good Omens | Hints of Aziraphale/Crowley | G | 3k All fics are valid and work!! That being said, I had no idea just how much I was going to fall in love with a fic about Crowley being an AirBnB host when I first opened it. 😂
• A fic you’ve reread several times: Department of Magical Creatures Case 62637 by @mscaptainwinchester (under RonsPigwidgeon at the time) HP | Draco/various, Ron/OMC, Ron/Draco | R | 121k How could I expected to only pick ONE?! 😂 I’ve reread everything you’re seeing here - I’ve reread nearly every fic I’ve ever recced at least once. But I couldn’t make a favorites list without this fic, so might as well put it here, haha!
• A fic you still remember many years later: Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble by Sushi HP | Severus/Severus | NC-17 | 8.9k I remembered it so well (and fondly) that after 12+ years, I went scouring the Wayback Machine to find it. And yes, the pairing is correct. Don’t look at me. If you’re still interested in reading after knowing that, hit me up, ‘cause it takes a bit of instruction to find it now.
• A comfort fic: You and I by @shiftylinguini HP | Scorpius/Albus S. | NC-17 | 32k
• A cathartic fic: The Conformity Conspiracy by shrink South Park | Michael/Pete (or Ethan/Dylan, as this was written before they had names in canon) | R | 71k I really struggled with this entry. I came to the realization that...I don’t know if I’ve ever actually felt catharsis from a piece of media before??? Well, I have with music, for sure, but not really with anything else. Anyway, I chose this fic for this slot because every time I read it, I’m transported back to being a goth teen. I can feel every word, every action, like I’m going through those years again with them...Which isn’t necessarily what cathartic means, but fuck it, it works for me, haha. ***As always whenever I rec this fic, I do just have to warn that it’s not properly tagged on AO3, and there is definitely some potentially triggering content in it. If you’re interested in reading and would like to know more (so you can be better prepared), feel free to DM me!***
• A fic you’d print and put on your bookshelf: In Flight, Two Boys by lobst_r HP | Marcus/Oliver | NC-17 | 29K Again, how I could possibly pick only one for this one?! I would print out ALL of these fics if I could, and many more! But this is such a beautiful fic, it definitely deserves a spot on the list, and what better spot for it than this? There’s actually a sequel currently posting as well! I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet, but I’m sure it’s just as amazing, if not more so.
• A fic you associate with a song: You Do Your Body Work, I Feel My Pulse Working Overtime by @veelawings HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 1.6k I mean, it’s in the title. 😜 But also this is just a truly inspiring fic that I absolutely had to include! (I realized I somehow haven’t queued a rec post for it yet, and I will make sure to fix that soon!)
• A fic that inspires you: dirtynumbangelboy by @magpiefngrl HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 39k
• A fic that brought you onboard a new ship: Lumos by birdsofshore HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 41k Some people may be surprised to know that Drarry was, uh.......once my NOTP. Yes, really. 😂 You wouldn’t suspect that nowadays, would you??? LOL. It’s all because of this wonderful, beautiful fic. I saw it getting recced everywhere at the time and said fuck it, I’ll give the pairing another try - and I never looked back!
• A fic you wish could be a movie: Midnight in the City of a Hundred Spires by @shiftylinguini HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 25k
• A fic that led to you making friends with the author: A Weasel in the Hamptons by @peachpety HP | Ron/Draco | NC-17 | 15k I don’t quite know if this counts, because I believe we’d already been speaking before this??? 😂 But of course, being that I’m the mod for Ron/Draco Fest, I knew who was writing for this prompt of mine, and thus we dispensed with the formalities in private, haha! It was a great experience, and I was so overjoyed to see the results in the end. So happy to have met you, love! 😘 Hope you’re well!
• Free Space: The Pizzaria: A Sordid Tale of Destiny, Evil and Garlic by Mad_Maudlin HP | Ron/Draco | PG-13 | 36k A Dron/crack!fic staple, honestly, and I just couldn’t make a favorites list without it!
• A fic you’ve gushed about irl: Runway by @candawrites HP | Ron/Draco | R | 15k
• A fic you associate with a place: Archipelago by Mad_Maudlin HP | Ron/Draco | NC-17 | 18k I just have a very distinct visual memory of reading this fic for the first time: sitting on the couch in my mom’s living room, the sun setting outside. (I was visiting for her bday, I believe???) I think of that moment every time I see the title.
• A fic that made you gasp out loud: clutched your life and wished it kept by @glitteringvoids HP | Ron/Draco | R | 110K
• A fic you found at the right time: Howlr by @partialtopotter HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 47k I got really sick in summer 2018. I know I’ve talked about it on here a million times at this point, so I won’t dwell. But I ended up finding and reading this fic the following March, and it reawakened my love of fic and fandom that had been lost over the previous months while I was dealing with everything. I hadn’t been reading or writing at all in all that time, and I ended up reading this whole thing in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down! It just made me feel so good, after a long time of not feeling anywhere near good.
• A fic that you would read fic of: In the Garden After Dark by @the-starryknight HP | Draco/Harry | R | 3.5k I just need more of this universe and Draco’s Illusion magic. 😍
• A fic that made you laugh out loud: Why Parvati Patil Must Die by hull1984 HP | Ron/Draco | PG-13 | 39k
• A fic with a line (or two) that you’ve memorized by heart: Hail to the King by Mad_Maudlin HP | Ron/Zacharias, Ron/Zacharias/Draco | NC-17 | 5k
• A fic that gave you butterflies: The Electric Fizzing Prick Pistols, or Whatever by whitmans_kiss HP | Sirius/Remus | PG-13 | 3.8k
• A fic that embodies something that you value in life: Luna Lovegood: Wank Coach for the Long-Since Deceased by yrfrndfrnkly HP | gen | PG-13 | 9.8k This was another difficult category to choose for. Not that I don’t think any fics I’ve read display good values! Of course they do! But I have this weird issue where I don’t, like...project? at all??? So sometimes it’s hard for me to recognize these things in what I read. But eventually I realized it had to be this fic, because I just love the carefree way Luna lives her life here, her job helping people (well, ghosts who could use some sexual release, specifically, but you know), and the wonderful friends she surrounds herself with.
• A favorite AU: Quibbler Unsolved by Leontina HP | Draco/Harry | PG-13 | 17k More of a fusion than an AU, but it’s just fantastic!
• A fic you stayed up too late to finish reading: Grounds for Divorce by @tepre HP | Draco/Harry | NC-17 | 122k
• A fic that made you feel seen: Taste the Rainbow by @maraudersaffair HP | Ginny/Pansy | PG-13 | 639

Separate thought in a separate separate ask! In the danmei world, do you have any thoughts to share about your favorite rarepairs/crackships, and what makes them compelling to you?
oh man! this sounds like fun. see the thing here is mostly that I feel like I have a lot of pairings in the danmei world that are more “wouldn’t it be fun if” rather than actively shipping them, where - okay, I think of my levels of “shipping” something in sort of tiers.
I’ve idly thought about it and found it interesting in passing
if I was recced a fic or a friend wrote one I’d read it, but I wouldn’t go tag crawling on AO3 for it
thought of it and went tag crawling on AO3 because I was curious if anyone else had (subset of “got frustrated when discovered other people had but they weren’t doing it the way I wanted”)
thought of it, went tag crawling on AO3, and came out of it shipping it more
would read fic for it
checks the tag on AO3 every day in case someone has written something new
would write fic for it.
so then it’s like. which level are we talking about, here? but I guess I just go to “things where I have feelings about them” and run with that, eh?
wei wuxian/xue yang. look, we all know at this point how I feel about this one, right? that it would just be - okay, there’s that post, right, that says the good version of this is where they have really fun sex where sometimes one of them comes up with a really cool new necromancy idea in the middle and the bad version is where wei wuxian finds out xue yang has been creating bodies for their experiments himself. :D I’m bastardizing, but you get the point. look!!! they’re foils for each other and everyone knows that narrative foils make for fun pairings. dark mirror parallels make for even more fun pairings. both??? yes, thanks
xue yang/jiang yanli & xue yang/qin su. these are two different ships with different textures but they fit in sort of the same boat for me, part of the appeal of which is “xue yang being around people who are genuinely nice to him is a really fun dynamic” and also “two women who really deserve to have a semi-feral murderer looking out for them, and the opportunity to go a little apeshit.”
nie huaisang/jin guangyao/lan xichen. look, I like 3zun as much as the next person (though I mostly live in xiyao, obviously), but I think if I had to pick a nie to put in the a-yao/xichen dynamic it would be nie huaisang because it makes everything terrible, and I just love terrible dynamics involving emotional manipulation, and relationships that are functioning on different levels depending on the pov of the character you’re looking at. every character in this triad is having a slightly different experience of the relationship. I’m into that.
jin guangyao/xiao xingchen/xue yang. look I thought of it once and I have no idea how or if it would work but I’m into the concept and it does smash together two (three hahaha) things that I like. so you know. there’s that.
jin guangyao/jiang cheng. didn’t see this coming and I’m still not sure I ship it so much in the classical sense as that I want to see the weird wine aunt coparenting energy that they have together, but I’m exploring my options and I like what I see in a general sense.
hua cheng/mu qing. okay, look. again, I’m talking narrative foils (mu qing and xie lian but also I think mu qing and hua cheng). I’m talking proxyfucking. I’m talking hatesex. I’m talking really ill-advised decisions made out of grief (unacknowledged) and anger (acknowledged). I’m talking very lonely very angry ghost kings (kinks) during an 800 year time skip. do you hear me here
jiang cheng/wen ning. unexpected?? and I’m still sort of circling around it like a vulture waiting for the big predators to leave so I can stick my head in its carcass (that metaphor got away from me). but here I am. two traumatized younger brothers whose trauma is very tied together in a lot of ways, with some things in common but a lot of things not? yes, I would like to see where this goes, thank you
hua cheng/he xuan. I feel like I’m cheating because honestly this is another one where I’m not so much like I want a ship as I want them to be weird friends, but I really want them to be weird friends, all their existing interactions in the novel are so hilarious and I just. want more of that.
I was like “drunken hookup during 800 year time skip?” but I feel like even if hua cheng got drunk he might just end up crying and then falling asleep on he xuan, and also can ghost kings (kinks) get drunk anyway. so, you know.
lan wangji/jiang cheng. this feels a little more...expected than some of the other ones here but there’s not nearly enough fic about mutual grieving proxyfucking hatesex and I want there to be more of it, so. give me that messy timeskip content don’t I deserve it. I just like people hurting each other while also hurting themselves, is all
I feel like I’m forgetting some here. possibly part of my problem is I don’t know what counts as a rarepair! like technically I think songxue is but it feels more mainstream I guess than a lot of the other ones on this list. songxuexiao is also like. smaller in the scheme of things? but has a solid community built around it.
this is also leaving off all the very thoroughly gen relationships I want explored, of which there are so many and this post would get truly out of hand if I tried to get into that.

Introduction : Breval
Hello, I'm Breval, I'm fairly new, I discovered the Bond fandom last year during the previous fest.
I'm mostly a lurker, but I'll be happy to comment, bounce back ideas or give prompts (or maybe even write something but that's not super likely my muse is fickle).
I've never participated in the fest before so I'm a bit unsure about how to proceed but this looked like fun so I thought I would give it a go.
I mainly ship 00Q, and I got into the fandom via Bondlock. I love a good gen fic though. I also got a soft spot for the 0QAD fandom, I've read few fics that convinced me.
I also ship a rarepair Q/Q and I blame hypatia on AO3 for that one @_@ (link if you want to suffer in rarepair hell with me)
Team Descriptor : The Night Owl (because I'm an insomniac)
same handle on slack/discord/tumblr
