The thing about me (I took this from my father) is that I'm petty about adaptions/pointless sequels I don't like. Star Wars? The franchise with exactly six movies? Yeah, big fan 😊 I looove Peter Jackson's LotR movies! That's too bad no one decided to adapt The Hobbit as well, or even some parts from The Silmarillion! :(( More great movies TRILOGIES? Pirates of the Caribbean and the Matrix Saga! It's almost like 3 is the perfect number ahah 😊 And man, I wish we could have a tv show about Fire and Blood by George R. R. Martin, because Game of Thrones was so good! Also, what a pity that no one ever, ever made an animated adaption of my fav manga Death Note. They never made movies or shows about it, just a musical! Yeah... 😇 And also... I don't remember what I was into between the age of 9 to 13... some stuff about wizards? Idk, it seems unlikely. Maybe it was just all a bad fever dream.
But sometimes I get to taste my own medicine since my dad is a "Star Wars has only THREE movies" truther ☠️

Fascinating how Polites, the character who is the personification of Odysseus' optimism and is only in 5 songs, is more grieved and appreciated than Eurylochus, a character who is his own person and is in 11 songs.
#I'm being a hater but meh :/ it's just kind of baffling to me. Don't get me wrong. Polites plays his purpose for the musical#and it is neat how Jay took one line from him in the Odyssey and got silly with it and basically created his own character.#but like... All we know about Polites is that he's nice... that's literally it. He's Odysseus' optimism personified. which is why he died.#And it's not as though it isn't sad that he died. It's just that we got to know Eurylochus longer and truly get to know him more#is it because with how little people know about Polites other than “uwu sweetiepie” people like that so they can headcanon more?#is it because Eurylochus is “too complex” and therefore “not likable”??#idk. I'm gonna be burned at the stake for this I know it. but I don't understand it.#like during “Love in Paradise” it wasn't “Open Arms” that made me sad. everything Dan said about labels in BIG was so extremely real and personal to me and people really gloss over a lot of it sometimes I need to talk about it more about it when I'm not exhausted

Long answer? We're making this a long post because I have a thought or 50 on Hana actually! Peep my fucking tags too I always say shit there.
I wouldn't have this many if she was just a whole side character but gege made her to not be a side character and was made to be clearly important which is why I'm always pissed about her.
She has an interesting concept that was executed by a MOTHERFUCKER who could could give less of a fuck about developing a woman if it dosent involve gege sucking the dick of some male character randomly. She was so interesting to me especially with her backfire only to be given "oh she dosent care about herself bc she's in love with an emotionally constipated dumbass that she met once and he could give less of a fuck about her." The only reason he cares somewhat is because of some half assed guilt that gege wrote in there because he already wasn't beating the "idk women" allegations.
She has such an interesting vibe about her of being a vessel that has control still other than Yuji but that's because he was born for that shit who gaf. Hana was not. How did she live? How did she get to that point.
I honestly think she would've been better off without having any relations with Megumi but most think so. I want to know more about her but I don't trust gege. I honestly think she should've been a blacksmith or something but idk. She's interesting it's just she has the misfortune of being written by Gege as a plot device and stepping stone for a character that barely even changed. Even Higaruma has more and Kusakabe and THAT COUPON BITCH HAS MORE THAN HER BUT THAT GOES FOR MOST IF NOT ALL THE WOMEN IN JJK EXCEPT MAKI FUCKKKK.

Hey so do you know where I could find this acting manifesto of yours?
I usually try and avoid publicly expressing my opinion on things like this but I recently saw some people commenting negatively on his acting again and I’m starting to doubt my own judgement.
I’ve truly never had a huge problem with his acting but I keep seeing people using really harsh words to describe his prior and current work. I genuinely think he’s doing a good job in THK but these comments sometimes make me think I’m missing something.
That conflicts with the fact I know at least three people he worked with on THK specifically had positive things to say about his acting too and I trust people who do this for a living to know what they’re talking about for the most part.
I guess I’m just looking for your post to have a more detailed perspective of the opposite viewpoint to “he’s a terrible actor” to help affirm some of my thinking so I’m more confident in my positive opinion of his acting.
Overall though I’m enjoying everyone in this show but for me I’m specifically enjoying the four mains the most. Kudos to them honestly.
(Disclaimer: Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion but the harshness of some of the opinions took me off guard a little.)

trying to finish reading dungeon meshi now that it's done and just seeing everyone in the comments talking about ships. gun to my head

Man. I genuinely don't get how idw sonic haters (Ian Flynn haters at this point, bc they shit on like literally *everything* he does for sonic) don't get tired. Like. You look at one and it's just post after post, paragraphs upon paragraphs abt how much they don't like this guy's writing
Isn't it exhausting. Constantly making yourself engage with something you clearly hate so much. Like what even is the point. It doesn't even look like they're having fun or trolling or whatever it's just genuine hatred
What is there even to gain? It's not enjoyment that's for sure. Attention? Is that it? I don't see any other reason why. Unless they think their "criticisms" are actually gonna do something to push the franchise in the direction they want
It makes me wonder if they even truly like sonic at all. It really doesn't feel like it with their constant negativity abt almost everything coming out of it recently

i’ll have more thoughts on this season later, but so far my experience with watching this season of severance is like. okay to borrow a concept, there is an outie me who can look at the show from a craft standpoint and make judgements on pacing, structure, filming choices, etc. but when a new episode is on, the one actually following the story is innie me. since there was nothing in the narrative that i, personally, bumped up against*, i was sucked into each unfolding event like i would be when i’m reading a really good novel. my frustrations at certain director/showrunner decisions had no effect on my relationship to the actual story that we’ve seen so far, which i feel almost exists beyond those decisions about how we are shown it
#*i understand why other people have it just didn’t take me out of it#this is the only show i’m like this with btw. every other show i’ve liked i’m usually bumping against something#usually i’m sane and tend towards being a hater unless proven otherwise#maybe it’s because the show is presenting a completely original world (not set in the future or based on books)#in a way we haven’t seen since like. the twilight zone?#(i haven’t seen the OA and know very little about it but i wouldn’t be surprised if it was also one of these)#anyways tl;dr how i felt watching this season was basically how i felt reading narrow the ninth#harrow**#severance
