even though he's stuck in blue lock, he always makes sure to deliver flowers to your house when the one year mark comes around <3 he'll spend the little free time he has on his phone, scouring through the collection of flowers at shops near your house and nearly dropping his phone on his face out of shock for how high shipping is, but he'll endure through !

he'll even consult the opinions of his fellow teammates, taking every chance he has to shove his phone into hiori or kurona's face, asking what they thought of a different shade of pink for the 4th time in a row. they might be a tiny bit sick of him constantly fawning over you, him constantly talking about you to them, but that doesn't mean he'll ever stop; over his dead body he wouldn't.

with the ring of a doorbell, you find a delivery worker with a large bouquet of multi-colored tulips on your doorstep. he asks, "from an isagi yoichi?" you smile in response, thanking him and taking the bouquet into your arms. the bouquet came with a small note attached, reading, "roses are red, violets are blue, no matter what flower, i choose you!"

bonus — your parents constantly tease you for the comically large bouquet you got from yoichi, and you still have no clue how he had the money to buy and ship a bouquet of that size !!

you’re curled up against isagi on the couch, your head resting against his shoulder, your hand casually placed on his thigh. he’s fresh out of the shower, his hair still damp, smelling like body wash and the kind of man you want to ruin. 

and you’re in the mood. 

you tilt your head up, giving him what should be a painfully obvious look – eyes lidded, lips slightly parted. your fingers start tracing little patterns on his leg, creeping up slowly, deliberately. 

he doesn’t react. 

you press closer, practically molding yourself against him, lips barely an inch from his jaw. “yoichi,” you murmur, voice needy. 

“huh?” he says, completely oblivious. “oh, did i tell you about training today?” 

you blink. your hand pauses. this cannot be happening. 

“reo tried to cut me off, but i already saw it coming, so i faked left, and then –” 

you slide your hand higher, hoping he’ll get the damn hint. 

he doesn’t. 

“– so nagi thought he had me cornered, but i knew bachira was in position, so i –” 

you tighten your grip on his thigh. surely, surely he will notice now. 

he does. but not in the way you want. 

“oh, yeah, that spot’s sore,” he says, stretching his leg. “thanks, love.” 

you stare at him. blink. take a deep breath to calm yourself. 

“yoichi.” 

he finally looks at you, his big blue eyes wide and stupid. “what’s up?” 

you slide your hand even higher. lean in closer. 

“baby,” you try again, slow and clear, like you’re speaking to a small child. “i. want. you.” 

his face brightens. hope flutters in your chest. he finally gets it – 

“ohhh,” he says. “you wanna see the play?” 

you swear you see god. and he is laughing at you. 

“yoichi.” your patience is hanging on by a thread. you grab his face with both hands, forcing him to focus. “i want. you.” 

he blinks, slowly. gears turn in that soccer-ridden brain of his. 

“… you mean like, for training?” 

your soul leaves your body. 

“no, dumbass!” you groan, throwing yourself onto his chest. you feel him chuckle, his hand rubbing your back, still not getting it. 

“oh, you’re tired? we can sleep early if you want.” 

a muffled scream leaves your mouth, straight into his shirt. you contemplate whether loving this idiot is worth it.  

and as if to personally insult you, he kisses the top of your head and goes back to talking about soccer.

So in the wake of ch 294, i’ve been thinking about what’s left for Kaiser’s development…

Unfortunately, as i had expressed in one of my prev posts, i think his story has a very high chance of ending in tragedy (by which i mean death).

BUT, as he’s my fav trash boy, i’m not willing to give up on hope just yet. So i kinda want to ramble a bit about Archangel Michael’s history and iconography to find a leeway towards a better ending… and i’ll possibly do a deep dive in another post.

As i’m in the midst of editing… “deep dive” lmao as if this post didn’t end up as long as it did.

So basically, it’s a fact that bllk is full of christian symbology and references (mainly when it comes to kainess, to be specific), and it’s obvious that not only Kaiser’s given name, but also his appearance is inspired by how Saint Michael is represented in the most famous paintings:

Long(er) blond hair, androgynous facial features, wearing a blue tunic + often a red piece of cloth floating around him (Kaiser is permanently wearing these two colors on his body: red eyeliner tattoo, blue rose tattoo. Blue is also just his signature color in general.)

But here’s what i find even more interesting: Kaiser’s character is not only based on Archangel Michael, but it also incorpores a lot of visual elements that Lucifer is represented with (Lucifer is God’s ex-favorite angel, who CHALLENGED AND REBELLED AGAINST GOD, so then God kicked him out of heaven basically… you’ll likely know this angel by the name of Satan)

Now, the representations of Lucifer/Satan vary throughout history, with the earliest representations being in Egypt… so i won’t mention everything bc we’d be here for hours, instead i’ll just boil it down to only those characteristics that Kaiser and Lucifer have in common in SOME representations.

So, Lucifer/Satan is often represented as the most beautiful angel of all, sometimes in blue/red clothing, completely nude, OR in a demon like form: a goat-man with hooves, horns, and bat like wings. In the panel below, Kaiser takes up an anthropomorphic form (humanlike traits mixed with animalistic traits) as he immerses himself in his own malice: his legs and feet remind me of the hooves of a goat-man, aka Lucifer.

So despite Kaiser being a sort of reincarnation of Archangel Michael, his personality morphs into that of the cruel and sadistic Lucifer. He wants to rebel against God, he longs to cast his malice on the world’s football players to feel joy (just like how Satan finds enjoyment in tormenting humans), and in the latest chapter he claims that it was wrong to let go of his malice towards Yoichi, and that he should rely on his malicious urges to steal…

(For context, i’m using panels w the official translations, NOT the more widespread PO2 ones)

So now that i’ve explained how Kaiser takes on the characteristics of both of these angels, i want you to scroll back a bit to the paintings of St. Michael.

What we see in these paintings is the battle between St. Michael and Lucifer. We see Michael stepping down on Lucifer, in a complete victory. (The sword in his hands represents rightful justice, but that’s not very important rn)

And the way i see it, the manga might follow this story. But not in the traditional way of physical conflict between two bodies, instead, it’s an incredible internal and psychological conflict!

The great battle takes place in Kaiser’s mind, and if Kaneshiro intends to follow the famous biblical story, this conflict will end with the “defeat” of Kaiser’s unhealthy mentality (=defeat of his satan-like qualities).

Or at least that’s what I’m hoping for w this theory. I really don’t want to see my boy dead due to his fucked up mentality (Mick Moon theory… oh how i loathe u)

Just saw leaks for Ch 273. Fuck yeah, this is why Itoshi Rin is my favourite character. He's Unhinged. Absolutely nothing he does is self motivated. He could've scored, could've secured that 2-2 value, but it's not good enough for Sae, so it's not good enough for him.

And it's not just that, it's the fact that in his pursuit to make it to the height of talent that Sae expects from him, he's wrecking every other expectation and implicit rule in the progress. Isagi, who's improved SO much over the course of NEL, can't even comprehend what Rin is doing. When it's been emphasised time and time again that Isagi's analysis and metavision capabilities have reached professional, maybe beyond levels of perfection.

Insane. Itoshi Rin, you are insane. Loki's right, in an official match that would be absolutely diabolical. Noa's right, you ARE the worst type of egoist. But only because even at this height of performance it's STILL NOT FOR YOURSELF.

And WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE TITLE OF THE NEXT CHAPTER?!?!? "No Longer Rivals"???? OH MY FUCKING GOD. Is it implying Rin surpasses Isagi once again?? Isagi stops Rin?? How the fuck does the most polished, most fascinating rivalry (personal opinion) end here??

I mean it makes sense considering the next arc is the world cup wherein they're gonna be on the same team so it was inevitable that there would have to be some sort of resolution for the Rinsagi rivalry here but at the same time Rin is still so hyper focused on Sae he's not even thinking about Isagi rn how the hell are they going to do this. Kaneshiro and Nomura better be working their magic.

isagi's "i think i like thighs" "i like someone with a good smile and laugh". but but. he also pays a funny amount of attention to his sprout—you think he will play with his s/o's hair too? like not only in the braiding or helping tying it up only, but when certain strands just fall on a certain way and he likes it. so unconsciously reaching out just too put It That Way.

also the way this guy is soccer brained you think his way to go to handle emotions is only soccer. but it probably is. his emotion is the loudest when he is on field. and even tho It Is Because The Setting yes, this guy watches matches replay when he can't sleep. haha. and then the thing about him and his moment of "I WIN!!!!!" being so short. haha ha.
