My favorite reaction that I’ve seen to the confession scene from “My Dress Up Darling” is “Well, at least Gojo won in a different universe”.

After watching a few more episodes of “My Dress-Up Darling”, if you look past the excessive fanservice, the series feels more like female wish-fulfillment rather than male wish-fulfillment. It’s interesting since the fanservice makes it seem like it would be the other way around. Here, think about the show like this:
One of the leads is an extremely geeky girl who can’t stop talking about her fandoms. She’s also one of the most popular girls at the school and everyone can’t help but love her. One day, she stumbles upon this handsome, kind man around her age who just so happens to be an expert at sewing. Since the female lead is not good at sewing (one of her few flaws), she asks the handsome man if he can make the cosplays for her. Not only does the handsome man say yes, he agrees to do it for free.
The handsome man works diligently on the cosplay since he wants to make the female lead happy. After making the female lead’s cosplay, fulfilling one of her life goals, he absentmindedly calls her beautiful, which is a big deal since he told her that word has a special meaning to him.
Then there’s the other parts of the show like the female lead showing off her favorite anime to the handsome man, taking him out on shopping trips, and lifting his spirits up when he was feeling down.
I’m just saying, if you take away the excessive fanservice and put more focus on Marin’s POV, “My Dress-Up Darling” sounds like one of those romance novels where the female lead just so happens to meet the man of her dreams who seems to solely exist to please her. And, as a disclaimer, I’m not saying any of this as a negative because I am enjoying the series so far.

Setting out my thoughts on a mystery, and what I thought was a mystery, in the Sono Bisque Doll/MDUD manga. Spoilers follow:
To give some background, in chapter 68, Gojou and Marin are at a cosplay event as spectators/photographers. While Marin is off meeting with Suzuka (the lady photographer she met at her first event) and Amane (the crossplayer they met at the aquarium event in ch. 40), Gojou is waiting to meet with a YouTuber, "Akira", who does foam-craft props; he's hoping to ask some detailed questions.
There's some momentary confusion when neither of them is the gender the other expected — Gojou thought, from the name Akira, writing, and presentational style, that she was male; Akira assumed, largely from the name Wakana, that he was female — but that passes quickly, and we settle into conversation for this bit:
I quickly became a little excited at this half-recognition. I mean, there's really only one female character who's been shown a few times without actually being present: Non-chan, the childhood friend whose rejection so scarred the young Gojou.
Akira is too old to be Non-chan herself (plus, Akira is her real name), but I thought that she might be Non-chan's older sister, and that associating with her might lead us to a confrontation, and to Gojou letting go of that trauma.
At any rate, it quickly turns out that Akira is one of Suzuka's friends, and that, when they meet, Akira is deeply uncomfortable being around Marin. Suzuka and her other friend, the female crossplayer Miyako, seem to know why but aren't concerned about it enough to intervene. (They seem to all be working women, which is why I made the conclusion about age earlier.) I don't think there was enough interaction with Marin for the discomfort to be personal, and it's a very strong discomfort. There's currently a cliffhanger on this, and presumably the reason will be revealed in the future, but my working theory is that Akira was bullied in high school, and that the bullies were gyaru or the ringleader of them was a gyaru.
But in considering all that, I realized that Akira seeming familiar to Gojou probably isn't meant to be an ongoing mystery; it was meant to be setup to the immediate payoff of Akira being Suzuka's friend.
See, back in chapter 46, Gojou and Marin are at a studio Suzuka had recommended; as part of that explanation, Marin shows Gojou some photos from Suzuka's shoot there.
And while it's difficult to say with certainty that two drawn characters are the same person, particularly in a series that's very much about changing your looks up with cosmetics, I'm pretty sure that this person cosplaying President Luna is Akira, based largely on her nose profile. So we probably won't get a confrontation with Non-chan from this.
(It might be better to never have that theoretical confrontation, to be honest, and just leave Non-chan in the past. Gojou's been learning to get beyond his self-imposed shell already, with the help of Marin and everyone else; it's never really been a situation that could be fixed by showing someone up or proving someone wrong.)
