As an enjoyed of the old women Yuri, myself 馃ぃ
I have to ask, if you have the time of course, I'd hate to be a bother.
How do you feel about Louisa Elliot, while we all know in the show she's an abusive racist woman who hurt her own daughter on top of the literal slave robots she so easily discarded, but in fanon we can do whatever we want. Is she kind of just too important to have an opinion on, or the fact we don't exactly "see" her, or?
Sorry if that's a lot and or loaded 馃ズ
I unfortunately have quite a bit of experience with people like Louisa. At the very least with people whom I perceive Louisa to be like.
I feel like Louisa and and James are a family built on reputation, aesthetics, and control.
Louisa is the kind of person to flaunt her possessions and achievements to others, her daughter being one of said possessions. She makes sure Tessa is perceived as the best (even better if others start comparing their children to her), while simultaneously disregarding Tessa's achievements as something that happened solely due to Louisa's influence, money, control, etc. (and in most cases, Louisa's actual influence is quite disruptive to Tessa actually achieving anything).
She's a person who wants to have a doll or a pet, not really a daughter; to be able to control every aspect of her life, looks, behavior, etc. especially when it comes to Tessa's influence on Louisa's own image (as a mother or a member of the Elliot household, or whatever else).
And when Tessa makes a mistake, Louisa is the first to punish her. Be that physically, or something more lasting like psychological torment, bringing her down, dismantling her character, self worth, and confidence, etc. She's likely quite keen on finding Tessa's weak spots and exploiting them to their fullest potential, utilizing emotional blackmail, threats of violence, or threats of isolation. All the while not really "seeing" Tessa at all, only the image of her Louisa built in her mind.
Despite a general thought that might occur from this that Louisa is very unhappy in her marriage or is also being abused in some way, I don't actually think that is true. In fact, she might be extremely happy in her marriage, and not just due to the wealth or influence either. She might genuinely love James.
These are my general thoughts on Louisa Elliot

You just know Tessa probably begged them to let the drones be in the photo with them. (Murder Drones)

Reminder that the WDF has a robo-murder hotline, and somebody bothered to print missing posters for these kids. The general apathy towards death in Worker Drone society is not because the average drone is a redshirt toaster who doesn鈥檛 understand death, but rather everybody is so overexposed to death that it becomes too exhausting to react to.
Death is a rule in Workerdrone Society. Everybody expects that someday they will die gruesomely. It has been a rule of Workerdrone life since the days that humans still ruled over them.

Unit damage was the highest recorded cause of unit decommission. And let us not forget Louisa Elliot鈥檚 favorite way of disposing of her own workers was chaining them up and letting them be ripped apart by crows.
It has always been this way for workerkind.

Holy fuck it is a bad time for the worms to wake up I have to SLEEP
I'll make this as quick as I can. Louisa and James absolutely /hated/ how attached Tessa was to her drones - or any drone, for that matter. James insisted on "curbing her trips to the dump," and belittled the passion as "creepy," just to set the stage a little. They already saw her as a morbid freak of a girl, and now she was more attached to robots than anything else like a Weirdo. But let me tell you what - they restricted her trips out, but never STOPPED them. They let her keep taking drones home and dolling them up. Why? I'll fuckin tell ya - blackmail.
This was more a Louisa thing than a James thing I think (though he did find it unnerving, he never said anything to imply he'd use them against Tessa), but that woman knew Tessa loved the drones dearly. She didn't understand and most likely found it embarrassing (I mean hell, she called them Tessa's "dumpster pets"), but she let her keep going out there. Because if worst came to worst, it was something she could use to /keep her in line./ Even more than the goddamn abuse.
"Myrah, where are you getting this?" I'll tell ya. When Tessa "disobeyed Louisa's orders" by bringing Cyn into the ballroom, what was the immediate threat of punishment? No, it wasn't chaining her up in her room - that only came after "Cyn" delivered that cryptic ass line about not being able to be "thrown out" anymore. But why did she say that in the first place?
Spoiler alert, the line was "I said /this one/ (Cyn), out of my sight. Though still can't follow simple orders. [...] Swamp! Dumping your broken drones clogging our library tomorrow, too. Don't test me."
You catch that?
Cyn was the only one Louisa pitched a fit over. But because /Tessa/ didn't listen, she threatened /her/ by threatening to take away the one thing she /knew/ would matter to her, the one thing that could make her listen - her beloved drones.
It was the only thing Louisa knew for damn sure would scare Tessa into submission. And did it work?

Tessa James Elliot: Sad headcanons
Trigger Warning:child ab*se,child neglect,misstreatment,angst.
Tumblr media
She was extremely pale and thin, a result of the anxiety and stress she felt every time her parents interacted with her.
Her wrists and ankles were always covered in cuts, scars, and bruises from being chained up so often and trying to free herself. It reached the point where even the slightest touch or movement caused her pain.
She developed a strong fear of the sound of metal clashing because it reminded her of the chains. Whenever she heard metal collide, she would panic.
Her father insulted her directly, calling her by degrading misogynistic insults(mostly the W word)
For even the smallest mistake or misstep she made, Louisa and James would punish her with more aggression.
They treated her like a servant and maid, just like the drones. They forced her to clean up after their late-night parties, clean the mess from their galas, set the table and serve dinner, and tidy up the chaos they themselves caused.
She never attended school or high school; her parents had her homeschooled with personal tutors. Tessa is very skilled in chemistry, mathematics, history, and literature, but she was stagnant when it came to handwriting and social squills.
It wasn鈥檛 just being chained; they also verbally and physically abused her. They would kick her, punch her, pinch her, pull her hair, slap her, whip her with belts, and hurl deeply hurtful words at her.
Louisa would hit her with her fan as a punisment.
Sometimes they punished her by denying her dinner (luckily, J would always sneak food to her so she wouldn鈥檛 go hungry).
There were times when they punished her by not allowing her to bathe, only to humiliate her later for her bad smell.
Once, Louisa gave her a horrible punishment and split her lip just because she caught her eating a cheesecake that belonged to her in the kitchen.
Her four drones鈥攅specially J鈥攚ere the ones who comforted her when she cried from all the abuse. Well, Cyn would just silently watch her cry, still keeping that innocent smile on her mouth.
Her parents wanted to marry her off to the son of their business colleagues so that the Elliot family could produce another generation. This caused Tessa to scream and cry, but they would always silence her. In a way, Cyn saved her from this...

Note
People like to clown on J for her failure when her actions are quite the opposite. For one, her defeat in episode one was due to overconfidence as she wasn't taking Uzi seriously. She said her prey had fought back before, but clearly, it wasn't much of a fight given her confidence. She didn't expect Uzi to use her tail to her advantage. In fact, her little speech was supposed to intimidate Uzi and freeze her with fear. Secondly, in episode 5, when Uzi remarks that J is useless. I'd like it to be known that J wasn't fighting V with the intention of killing her. Her aim was to distract her long enough to allow Uzi and N to get to the basement. Let's not forget the bond J had with Tessa as well. J was most likely the first drone Tessa rescued and had been there the longest. I truly believe J wanted to have a special connection with Tessa (as J shows special concern for Tessa's wellbeing) but was hesitant due to the fact that J was nothing more than a worker drone. When N and V arrived (especially N), J grew jealous of Tessa's favoritism of N and resented him. However, despite this, she knows how much Tessa cherished her robot companions and grew an abrasive bossy attitude as a coping mechanism for her frustration as well as a way for her to protect N and V in a way. She knew Louisa's standards were absurd and everything needed to be perfect, or they would easily be thrown out to the crows. J knew how much they meant to Tessa and didn't want that to happen, and so worked her ass off loyally to ensure it wouldn't while pushing the others to the same standard. Another thing to mention is that J never received the admin override that N and V dud. She's still under the Solvers influence and has none of her memories. She doesn't remember Tessa. In episodes 2 and 5 in the memories, we see J refer to Tessa by her name, only calling her "boss" jokingly. But in episodes 6 and 7, we only see J refer to Tessa as "boss." All she knows is that this human is of higher standing than her in the company, and she should follow orders. She doesn't know who this "Cyn" is, either. All J knows is that she's been given orders, and it's not her place to question them. Give her some credit for her equally tragic character, guys.

So, does anyone remember that so called "Doll critique" post that I've been mentioning on and off for a while now?
Well, let's just say that, over time, that project grew a LITTLE in size...
I've been writing ideas and arguments for it on and off for a while now, for almost a year, and the content for it just kept getting BIGGER and BIGGER...
To the point where I'm now making a 2/3/4 hour long video that may actually be longer than the show itself.
However, the one problem I have with that is...
I've never made a YouTube video in my life, so I could really use some help, since the level of polish that I am aiming for is around the likes of Randomalistic's 2 hour long King Candy video, although probably not as clean-cut, considering the amount of stuff I want to say and my lack of experience.
A mutual of mine told me to start with Clipchamp as a starting editing program, and I'll be sure to try that out, but if anyone else has some tips to give me I am open to hearing them out, in particular, I'd like it if someone recommended me a good microphone to buy, as I want my voice to sound good while I talk.
In general, anything you say to me could be extremely useful, as I'm an absolute rookie.
If you have any arguments that you'd like to see covered inside it, just send them to me; I'll give a shout-out at the end of the video to all the people that helped me realise this project, as well as inspired me to make it in the first place.
I'd also ask permission from some of you to use their artwork in my video, so the final shout-out will also serve as a thank you to the artists for their beautiful projects.
I feel like I have very important things to say about the subject matter, and I hope that this video could help the community get a more unified view of the character, even if not anything I'm going to say should be taken as fact.
One final thing: don't expect the video to come out anytime soon, it may take me even more than 2 years to get it out, so, if you are hoping that the release of the video may fulfill some deeply craving desire inside your soul in the immediate moment, I'm afraid that's not going to be possible.
Originally, this was just meant to be a critique of Doll's character, that had a rather bleak and depressing concluding argument that I felt was true for how the character was treated and how it was most likely going to be treated moving forward; but after some reconsideration, I realised that there was a far more optimistic view to be had for Doll's legacy, and I felt like the sad ending wasn't fitting anymore.
And as I kept writing this project's stuff on and off for a while now, to the point of turning it into a video, I realised that I didn't want this to be just a critique anymore.
This is going to be a Tribute.
An Analysis, a Retrospective, a Public Execution,
It's going to be at the very least 1 hour of Doll Talk, meant to give everybody's favourite Russian cannibal the recognition and defamation that she fricking deserves.
I hope to have interested someone in the idea.
Also, here's a drawing I wanted to show off.
Originally, I was going to put it at the end of said post, but since the project has been canned in favour of a video, I'm putting it here instead.

ur mom is a grade a bitch
Listen here, and listen well. My Mother was a respectable woman. I will NOT let you drag the name of the late and great Louisa Miriam Elliott.
She was a great woman, she taught me everything I know, she even showed me how to be worthy enough. My Mother was wonderful, and to insinuate she was a bitch is to call me a bitch too, for shame, anon, for shame.
Were you raised in a bloody barn, mate?
But you? You're nothing but a putrid little excuse of a life form, you absolute brain dead dingle-berry
