People Go Crazy Over a YouTube Video Showing Humanoid Robot Jump, Run, Grab, Climb, and Backflip

Boston Dynamics, an American engineering and robotics company, has released a video on its official YouTube channel about the latest demo of its humanoid robot, named Atlas. The bipedal robot can jump, run, grab, and throw things when helping a worker. The performance of the new prototype robot is just like the actions of a human. It can do various advanced tasks and simple duties, representing how well robotic technology has progressed in recent years.

The video released on Wednesday had a description expressing that Atlas is prepared to learn a set of new skills and gets hands-on experience for it. The bipedal robot interacts with objects, manipulates the surroundings around it, and modified the course by sensing, locomoting, and athletic abilities to reach the goal-pushing boundaries. The company in a comment said that the rudimentary grippers of the robot were designed keeping in mind the need to do heavy-lifting tasks.

Coming back to the video content, it is about the humanoid robot amazing the viewers with its astonishing dexterity and agility, assisting a worker in a fake built-up construction site. Atlas is seen doing tasks such as climbing a set of stairs, tossing plants, and gently balancing a bag above its head. It also impresses the audience with athletic capabilities and speed, ending the video with an effortless backflip on completing the tasks.

The video baffled the social media users, and one of the users even wrote how he remembered the machines as a kid, where they could hardly walk across the floor. But the level of advancement today is truly enthralling, finally dropping a note of congratulation. Another user said that it is beautiful to see the smoothness of their actions, and appreciated by saying nice work genuinely. Then there was a user who said that though it is a bit weird to see robots do this, the same is awesome and it is worth watching the humanoid prototype move around so fluidly.

Scott Kuindersma, the team lead on Atlas at Boston Dynamics said that they are not thinking to make the robot only for dynamic movements through the environment as they had done for Parkour and Dance. But they are also starting to think about how Atlas can put skills to work and be able to manipulate and perceive objects in its environment. He said that what the other robots cannot do, Atlas is capable of performing all those tasks.

ah yeah, this is a minor personal pet peeve but i never let it seriously bother me like, i think it’s fine to move onto new cc’s i don’t watch a lot of the cc’s that got me into mcyt all those years ago (cube smp/mcsg era anyone?) but i don’t think that means i’ve developed taste or anything shit happens and you just move on from people/interests it’s natural! yeah it’s kinda asshole-y to imply george is nothing but a gateway creator but if ppl genuinely move on to find new mcyters through him or anyone else on the dteam/dsmp that’s cool :) it does feel like devaluing him as a cc when people are snarky abt it like that but what can you do? if you don’t appreciate what he’s putting out then other ppl do and that’s all that matters, have fun with your new interest

but i relate to all your thoughts and feelings i’m mlm so i am like. genuinely attracted to him (which btw my attraction took a lot to navigate if anyone was wondering) but most of all i just agree that he is really charming to me? that’s the perfect word i think, the way he operates and moves and talks so animatedly it’s just fun to see someone bursting with life and energy, george facecam streams are a treat to see him not only earnestly enjoy himself but play up to the camera and entertain using his full range!! he’s genuinely one of if not my favourite cc for so many reasons, he is consistently entertaining and a joy to watch

annabeth n thalia n grover have been internet friends for the Longest™ and they met each other on mc and a friendship just???? formed and stayed???

when they were all in college they were like ‘haha lets record ourselves playing mc again n post it on youtube just for fun’ but then it unexpecdetly blew up and they rode off that wave

annabeth n thalia r the type of mcpvp youtubers u hear abt and yes they play mcsg and yEs theyre at the top of the leaderboards

the videos of them having like 1v1s and pranking each other r some of their most popular ones bc ull never know who’ll come out on top bc theyre just so good at the game

annabeths also has a LOT of speedbuilds on her channel and they arent like ‘cute house for u to build!’ its always shit like ‘recreation of the (restored) colosseum in rome’ ‘palace of versailles’ and it is fASCINATING

she also talks abt real architecture during the speedbuilds which a lot of ppl find interesting n informative

grover is a very lax youtuber. like he doesnt have a strict schedule but his editing and content is on point so nobody complains

grover loves playing survival!!!! he likes playing it w mods that give u more biomes or animals or farming options bc he just likes peacefully playing it??

he doesnt even worried abt beating the enderdragon and neither does his audience. hes just working on his farm, finding flowers to collect, putting discs in the jukebox as he makes carpet to decorate his bedroom. its very calming

also grovers definitely the type of person to review modpacks and texture packs

his shaders also make the game look incredibly soft n pleasing. its very beautiful!!! but his computer doesnt crash or lag at all. thalia and annabeth dont understand

thalias a channel rlly centered on pvp but also mini games on big servers

she’ll play games like skywars, bedwars, capture the flag, herobrine (or whatever that games called on the hive lol), hide and seek, etc.

but her favorite game (and the one shes best at) is one in the chamber

shes vEry competitive and cocky but shes got tha skills to back it up so nobodys complaining at ALL

the three also had a survival letsplay w a biG modpack that went for about two years and ended when they killed the enderdragon (which is one of their most popular series)

percy’s vids also started blowing up when he suddenly came onto the mcpvp scene and started climbing mcsg leaderboards for top kills n top wins

ppl started comparing him to annabeth n thalia and eventually they collabed and had duels w each other n percy got his ass KICKED but the vids were funny and fun to make so they just kept on coming

percy’s youtube channel does rely on a lot of pvp content (hunger games, skywars, 1v1s, blitz survival games, etc) but he also likes doing adventure maps and he gets very heavily invested in them

one of his running gimmicks is how hes always gunning for an ocean update (when it does eventually happen in 1.13 he looses his mind but in a good way)

hes a frequent guest in a lot of annabeths, thalias, n grovers videos but hes in grovers videos (n vice versa) the most

their letsplays r the funniest but also the most wild bc the tone shifts from ‘we cant find our house and we r running out of food n hunger as the sun goes down we r 100% going to die aaAAA—’ to ‘hey can we tame that dog over there? gimme a name for it’ in the span of one minute

also yes nicos the youngest out of all of them but hes the bonafide example of ‘ive been playing minecraft since ITS inception and MY inception’ and that raw power cant be compared w anything else

his also doesnt have a regular video schedule bc hes more of a twitch streamer but he will post fun highlights on his channel and he frequents percys n thalias videos

hes rlly good at pvp but he doesnt wanna put that much effort into the game like that he just wants to simply vibe....

he also has his sister in his vids sometimes and she doesnt entirely understand whats going on but she is very good at the game. everything nico knows she learned from bianca but its just that bianca fell off while nico kept going

rachel likes to draw the headers n icons and animate intros and funny moments for a lot of the youtubers

she has her own channel but she isnt rlly a mc youtuber, shell just post her content on her channel and leave it be

sometimes she has pixel art timelapses or shell post a compilation of her playing draw it (and winning every single round)

but she is a frequent guest in other ppls videos, shell be playing it for fun and just doesnt record it

there r also compilations going around of her making predictions and them coming true (there r 5 of them, each 17-25 minutes long. its borderline freaky)

piper n leo r also another duo that just uploaded a video of them fucking around on minecraft that blew the fuck up and they just rolled with it

piper makes a lot of those ‘cursed minecraft. video ends whenevr i see water. herobrine is here and hes real hes the cause of my divorce’ type videos

shes also rlly good w noteblocks and makes amazing minecraft parodies. even when shes trying to make them bad on purpose they r masterpieces

her editing and sense of humor are peak and there isnt a single person she cant make laugh

leos REALLY good at making insane redstone contraptions!!! yes hes made a working computer before in minecraft!! yES he and piper have their own server where hes the mind behind a lot of the redstone contraptions

he also liked coding and doing redstone for minigames that he can play w his friends but he also likes to use it for random shit (one time he made an entire walking town. no reason. thought it was funny.)

he n piper love pranking each other and randos on their server (who they always compensate unless theyre hacking) n its almost like theyre in a perpetual prank war

piper n leo initially met jason when he logged on to play in their server n they didnt kno he was a popular mc youtuber and they pranked the hell out of him live on stream

jason was miffed at first but then they became good friends and collabed a lot!!!

frank initially got popular when he started climbing the one in the chamber leaderboards and thalia was like woah this kids GOOD GOOD

he was alright at mcpvp at first but when he started rlly tryharding and being a sweat he flourished immensely

hes also one of the only mc youtubers to remaib good at pvp even after the 1.9 combat update, although he does prefer the previous combat system

he also has this running gag where he always has the shapeshifting mod on.

even in videos titled’ 100% vanilla survival gameplay’ in the first minute he will kill a chicken and then become it. nobody is surprised. they expected it and they nod in approval

he doesnt like playing a lot of pvp games solo (with the only exception being one in the chamber), so any mcsg, skywar, uhc, or kitpvp vid etc. will be with one of his friends!

and even though hes good at the game hes more interested in having a good time and having fun. although he can both win and have fun so. good on him

also one of his most popular series is him playing diversity w annabeth. they just think the map is neat

onw time during nicos streams he invites hazel to play battle arena w him and chat is shocked when she pulls up w full diamond gear n pots. they call hax. they say she has xray. they are wrong

hazel is honestly a mining god. she has the easiest time finding diamonds and iron and anything she wants in the mines. she jokes its a gift from god

she also knows a lot abt the nether and loves making potions. one of her first goals in her survival letsplays once she gets settled is to make a netherwart farm

shes also fond of underground bases n tunnels to navigate around her survival world. especially in multiplayer where shes usually the richest player

shes also the most hyped for the nether update!!!! the nethers finally gonna be more interesting

also reynas the best at pvp. period.

she was heavily invested in mc when she was younger and when she returned she got REALLLY back into it

she started getting noticed when she started climbing the mcsg leaderboards and getting lots of kills in uhc and started posting highlights on her channel

barely anybody can beat her in duels bc shes insane. jason cant, percy cant, and frank cant. thalia did once but after that she got wrecked. annabeths the only one who comes even close. they did a best of 5 duels and annabeth won 2.

also she has these two reocurring characters in her survival letsplays n playthroughs where she has two dogs named silver n gold (based on her dogs in real life named aurum and argentum)

also even tho reynas very serious and silent when she gets into the game and starts sweating she gets vEry loud and wont stop yellin

also yes they all have one private server where they stream and make videos of each others shenanigans. its all survival, no cheats or hacks, and no mods. it is the most chaotic and hectic thing in the world but it is also the most fun series on youtube
