~ the tattoo was done soon after the end of book 1! She wanted one for a while but was always afraid of the pain. Turns out that the turning was great for her confidence, and not so much so for Gabe’s blood pressure because her already low fear threshold just sank

~ before she moved, she was a part of her school’s basketball team! She still keeps it up for fun, even if half her coven end up swearing never to play again (the strength was a blessing for her and curse for… pretty much everyone else. Except Gabe because the piggyback rides are a two way street now)

- she was always a hugger, but now she manages to bring a whole new meaning to a bear hug. Her favorite part of the day is sneaking up on Cas during training times just to give her a quick hug and kiss. If you have exciting news though, usually it’s best to prepare ahead of time because you will be getting a congratulatory hug (if desired ofc)

~ she’s in a lifelong feud with a squirrel that sits outside her window every morning. No matter how many times she gets Gabs to come and coax it towards her, no matter how many things she sets out for it, it goes to Cas every damn time.

~ she prefers hunting to the blood bags, even if Gabs will tease that it’s just bias because her chat with Cas. Ever since, she can’t not think of it as a giant clot. She’s a lot more indulgent with her instincts than are ‘proper’ for a Clement, but she keeps it in line for Gabe

~ she usually darts over to Cas’s room to clean up after a hunt before seeing Gabs. Once there was a little fleck of blood still on the corner of her lip, but it ended up being ever so gently kissed away. When they all cuddled that night she ended up voicing a pretty big fear of hers- “do you think I’m a monster now?”

She could swear she saw Cas looking towards Gabe too

~ her and Cas frequent the vampire fighting ring quite often, and ofc they drag Gabe along with them. Cas usually blows a kiss to her from the ring (she’s not blushing. It’s just packed and flushed in here), and Delilah will celebrate each win by running into the crowd and scooping her up to bring her into the ring

~ her days usually run late, so she’ll announce that she’s come home by flopping right into Gabe and Cas’s little cuddle pile

~ she loves library work with Gabe, she’ll sit there for hours talking history and doing research. She usually reads sitting on Gabe’s lap- on the occasion Cas comes she usually gets too distracted to sit

~ she wears reading glasses, usually when she’s crafting and yes it makes her look like a little old lady

(This is my first post on Immortal Desires so bear with me. Spoiler alert!)

So these vampires are the pits! I can't stand them at all! The only vampires MC and I care about at this point is Cas and Gabe (even though they have their low moments) and at this point I want my MC to blow up 😤!

Because between her mother and these vampires, she is going through it! At this point, I want MC to grab Gabe and Cas and skip this town altogether.

Even when Lewyn tried to get us sun poisoned in front of everyone, other than Gabe and Cas, Seth was the only one to come over to check on us! Like, I understand why the Venandis wouldn't care but the Clements?! Hello?!

At this point, I don't like neither of these covens, they both suck in different ways. Gabe and Cas are the only redeeming factors about them. At this point, I want this MC (with her two boyfriends) to join Adrian Raines and the other girlies in Bloodbound because it's a no for me.

Way before book 2 was out, one of my headcanons for ID was that Cas and Gabe are exes, like I still feel like some of their behaviour in book 1 could be interpret that way, even if it's a huge reach lol. Idk this is very influenced by me shipping Cas and Gabe though.

But like it didn't really make sense to me why Cas would be interested in mc in the 1st chapter, cause everyone mentions how they want nothing to do with anyone and stuff, so what makes mc special??

But it is really clear from the moment they meet that Gabe and mc get along really well and have chemistry. And Gabe clearly has a crush on mc from day one. And in the first chapter especially at times it almost feels more like Cas is trying to ruin it for Gabe/steal mc away from Gabe than that they actually care all that much about the mc themselves? And I like to interpret that as jealousy because they don't like seeing Gabe with other people.

Also in general they just seemed so obsessed with each other and their hostility seemed to go deeper than just being a Clement and a Venandi. I get that's likely due to both of them pursuing the mc, but I just like to interpret that as them disliking each other after a messy break-up wayyy in the past.

First of all what's Fly forever Loving you 2 ?

Fly is an indie otome game where your character will enter in 11th grade at the Hummingbird Highschool and where you'll eventualy find love and discover some hidden secret along the way.

It's a sequel of another game of the creator who found that the first lacked of constancy. You Can play the 2 without having to play the First since the important plot point are reminded (but I personally recomend you to try the first since it's still very enjoyable and you'll understand the story better).

Reason number one: custom your character

You Can chose your,apparence, pronouns and customize your character.

A recent update grant you the possibility to chose who is your best Friend between two character:Rachelle and Nabil.

Rachelle is your default best Friend since Fly 1 she's a Sunny girl who is determined to help you find love

Nabil is a funny and layback Guy with a baffling Bad Luck.

-Evan is a shy and reserved but nice guy passioned of litterature.However he seems to have some family trouble lately.He's Rachelle's best Friend.

-Josh is the guitarist of Nuggets on the run a group that he created with his brother Ben and Friend Beatrice. He's an Honest Guy who don't like drama.

-Juliette is the pianist of Nuggets on the run and an artist to the core.She's a very sensible girl who has been bullying last year partly because of the fact she's lesbian. (It's one of the main story Line of Fly 1).

-Kanan is an activist whose everyday life turn around making the World better in term of ecologie and politics. This made him gain the Title of kill joy by some of his peers.

Kanan and Juliette are both exclusive love interest: if you Choose the girl apparence you Can date Juliette and if you Choose the boy one you Can date Kanan.

-Clement is Rachelle's and Evan's best Friend. He's a flirty Guy with a hight self-esteem. He's still a lovely and comic person.

-Thomas a Guy who likes to act all mysterious and with who you share the custody of a cat named Java.He work at the Highschool despite being only 19/18.

-Mélanie is your local Mean girl who's a lot more tolerable than last year.She still likes to throw uncalled mockeries at you.

-Dahn is an ex star player of the Best basketball Highschool team of France who decided to change School and to go to Hummingbird.He's a sociable Guy who seems to blend in easely.

-Laurène is a very strong girl and Juliette's best Friend.She's serious and much more mature than most of adults.You Can have truth her without any worry.

Reason number 4: a beautiful story with gorgeous illustrations

While the setting of the story is not revolutionary some episodes genuetly made me gasp especialy for the episode 8 who spoke about revenge porn.The characters feel very humans(for the better and worst).

Reason number 5: HER

This is Candice Mc's best Friend until they move out and I love her so much. Part of it because of a side story that made me relate to her.

If this post convince you to give this game a try you should keep two things mind:

-This game is 100% french and there is not translation from what I know.

-Ajeb the creator of the game do all the sprites, illustrations,coding and writing alone so the update of episodes are slow but there is some special épisode who are disponible !

hi everyone c: ngl, this month flew by quickly. but y'all, we are in the HOME STRETCH. it's so surreal to me right now, it's just over a month before the demo's drop AAAHHHHH!!!

what have i been working on? mainly trying to get mc to the feast scene T-T. i'm moving along their home and customization scenes so we can FINALLY get to the juicy bits. i really, really, really want to be able to start on the feast scene for you guys. bascially, i want to end chapter one tbh.

the reason being, i'll be so disappointed if i gave you guys half a chapter, i want to give you all a full two chapters— prologue and chp. one —since everyone's been so patient. ): so i have my work cut out for me this november. but, i think it's a good thing too because of nanowrimo!! hopefully, i'll have a big chuck of update for you guys next month.

anyhow, you may have noticed i've changed things around the blog to make it somewhat organized. there's still some heavy organizing left to do, so please bear with me. tags for the ros have changed too. for anyone who may have followed any of the previous ro tags, you can follow the new ones as listed:

Are you particularly inspired by other books/media (besides the game, ofc) for this story?

....not really?

I mean, I've mentioned k-drama as an influence, but that's mostly to justify the silly vibes and the research-lite approach I take to writing generally.

I read two romance books last year with adjacent themes: The View Was Exhausting by Mikaela Clements and Onjuli Datta (fake dating for a celebrity's career) and The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center (two script writers in forced proximity, coupled with the female mc's hypercompetency). Both books were really fun, and you should definitely read them! But neither of them are exactly the same vibe, this is just a silly story inside my brain x

Chill, "my friends"! Besides that one chair game, since when did the story establish we were so close? I'd even forgotten your names, although I replayed the beginning of book 1 a week or so ago. We spent so much time with the younger Clements and Venandis I thought they were my friends 🙃

Of course, the MC had to feel bad about it afterwards but due to the aforementioned reasons the scene was also kinda satisfying if you chose to cut them off.

The Hunt

Book: Immortal Desires series

Summary: Isa's first hunting trip with the Venandis doesn't go as she quite expected......

One word to describe Isa after she had been Turned was angry.

Not in the usual angry way, it was more of a constant. She felt numb most days, and others all she could feel was a boiling sensation in her stomach, and all she could feel was red-hot rage. No matter how hard she tried, there was no escape. Most days were spent in bed, staring into empty space, focusing on nothing.

After the battle with the hunters, she had nothing to do, and an eternity to do it. And on top of that, the covens were still being malicious, none of them had been too accepting of her when she joined their ranks. And on top of that, her human friends were just as nasty to her. Sometimes she was coerced out of bed, usually by Cas or Gabe, to help hone in her powers, but their jokes fell on deaf ears, her words were inconsequential, she felt as if she were watching herself on a character in s movie screen, rather than living life. Was this how it would be forever?

Cas and Gabe didn't push her. Her boyfriend had tried to at first, but upon seeing her devastation, allowed her some space to grieve. Isa didn't know if she wanted space, nor if she wanted someone to be with her during her days. He was worried about their relationship, but she assured him she still loved him. She just needed time, even if nothing was getting better.

As she lay in her bed, her blankets pooled at her ankles, she heard the familiar clink clink of pebbles at her window. Cas was here. She sat up, cracking open the window to allow him to climb inside, his boots thumping against the hardwood floor as he landed on the ground.

"Hello sunshine!" He called warmly, a smile on his face. Isa rubbed her eyes, snapping out of her daydreams to look at him clearly. While Cas appeared to be his standard self-confident being, she could easily see the worry behind his eyes, the waver of his smile. She felt awful for making him feel like this, but she just couldn't help it.

"Hi." She returned, mustering up a smile at the sight of him- it was good to see him, after all.

"I think I know a way to make you feel better-when have you last fed?"

"Um.....I had breakfast this morning?"

She raised her eyebrows at him, trying to understand his meaning.

"No, I mean-when did you last drink blood?"

That resulted in a shrug from her, and she caught him frowning.

"Well, you must be hungry. How'd you like for me to take you out on your very first hunt with the other Venandis?"

"No, absolutely not-."

"Come on.....it'll be fun."

"Cassius-,"

"We can stop at the library on the way home."

"And we can stay there as long as I want?"

"With zero complaints from me."

".........Fine."

"Get dressed."

And so, a few minutes later, Isa and Cas stepped into a forest clearing, their eyes falling upon the other Venandi clan, all chattering excitedly about this hunt. Isa had decided to try to hide from them, as she didn't want any drama and was thinking about the library that was waiting for her after this. In all honesty, she wouldn't have agreed even if it were in the picture, but she had known Cas would put up a good fight, and she was in no mood for conflict right now, so she simply stood next to her boyfriend, waiting for whatever came next.

"Who invited Isa?-." A voice cut out among the crowd, everyone's attention turned to a certain redhead among them.

"Hey Margo." Isa said, waving meekly at the girl who was now glaring at her. So much for hiding in plain sight.

"She's part of our clan. She has a right to go hunting with us." Cas' voice called out, one of his arms wrapping around her waist. Margo snorted.

"And she hasn't been a single hunting trip with us since she was Turned. She drinks blood from bags like those Clements. She should have joined them if she was so into playing human. If you ask me, she's just a sorry excuse for a vampire. She's never seen anywhere without one or two of her bodyguards." The girl gloated, crossing her arms over her chest.

Isa clenched her fists. It was all too much for her. She already had not wanted to be here. She didn't even want to be a vampire. Everyone was so mean to her despite the fact that she hadn't done anything. All she ever was was nice. She squeezed her eyes shut, her nails digging into the palms of her hands as she made her next move. Before Cas could step forward to defend her, the girl swung her fist, connecting with Margo's nose with a resounding CRACK. She fell to the floor, and no one moved for a few seconds. Even Isa herself was in shock-

"Oh my God-I'm so sorry."

She looked from Margo to the stunned faces of the Venandis. She had saved their lives twice and they were still shocked she could throw a punch. Her brows furrowed.

"I mean-." She puffed out her chest, glaring at the rest of her coven as she demanded, "Yeah. I did that. Who's next?"

"I think my nose is broken-." Groaned Margo from the forest floor.

"Yeah, well, maybe it won't look like a trumpet anymore. Now, if you don't mind, we'll be leaving." She nodded at Cas, who followed her as she stomped away, leaves crunching underfoot on her way down the dirt path.

"That was awesome, New Girl!" Cas exlaimed as they reached the edge of the forest. He gently grabbed her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Isa looked up into his eyes, noticing the gleam of pride in them which made her smile.

"She had it coming. But also I feel bad, do you really think I broke her nose?"

Cas snorted. "I hope so. And for next time, we gotta work on your insults, 'trumpet nose' wasn't really doing it for me."

"Her nose looks like a trumpet though. Was I just supposed to lie?"

"I guess not," he shrugged. "Where did you learn to punch like that?"

"I don't know, but I felt like Mike Tyson, without the beating women part though." She shrugged. It was no secret that she mainly used her powers or talismans during fights, this display of strength had only cropped up in training sessions with the Venandis, she had never really put it into practice until now.

"Well, you looked much cooler than Mike Tyson." Cas smirked, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of her head.

"Thanks. We're going to the library now." She stated, relishing in the fact that at least she would get to go to her favorite spot in the little town now.

"Yes ma'am." And with that, Cas laid a hand on the small of her back, and they walked towards the library together.

Immortal Desires Playthrough part four

- I wasn't looking forward to more mom drama, so I am pleasantly suprised by how nice the entire interaction was.

- Gabriel's fingerprints are now on the journal. Hooray.

- the Venandi and Clement elders are more fun and kind than Llewellyn or Astoria, which is a nice change of pace.

- My guess is Libby is a vampire hunter or she helps the vampire hunter.

- "just forget the dream" is the best dialouge option in this case and yet it still feels wrong.

- The ley line graft is an interesting thing I never considered but it does make sense.

- I bet MC and the LI of their choosing move down to Flagstone Cove, I'm calling it now.

- I'm suspicious of these park rangers. They're either looking to become the stars of "Missing 411" or they're looking for vampires.

- The ley line probably gave Cas powers. Which will probably be fine.

- naming the drone has the same energy as my grandfather naming all his beef cattle "McLunchington".

- I want to know more about Cas and Gabriel's relationship. Tell me more about your baggage you sad weird men.

The Push and Pull of Cas and Gabe (2/2)

(This is part two of my Gabe and Cas analysis.)

So a lot of Cas stans are complaining that there's too much Gabe in these recent chapters and I get it. And I think there's reasons for that too. Gabe is more touchy-feel and open with their feelings unlike Cas.

Here are the reasons why I think Gabe is more forward in this book:

Gabe feels like they can be themselves with MC and they feel more 'human.' Because MC knew about the vampires and their close friendship, Gabe feels like they could confide in MC about their struggles, making them feel more attached.

They have no one else. I get the feeling that after the whole incident with Lewyn at the hospital, Gabe doesn't trust him or some of the Clements anymore. Like Cas, Gabe is isolated slightly in his coven and trusts no one else but MC.

They lost their family in a horrific way. Remember, Gabe comes from a family of vampire hunters and their family died because the vampires wanted revenge for what his ancestors did to them and Gabe was forcibly turned into a vampire. Gabe feels attached to MC because they view them as their only family.

These are my headcanons is to why Gabe is acting the way they are and as this book goes on, I might add more for them and Cas.

WELL I completely forgot I had this thing written. Anyways. Here's two more moons of the reading challenge by @readnburied - yes, I'm always late, don't mind me <3

Hunter's Moon

Book set in Europe: Liberata, by Domenico Dara. ☆☆☆ ½ I can't help but to feel on a personal level what Domenico Dara has to say. I can see it clearly in the words he uses, the little insight he gives to each character. I enoyed this book less than Malinverno - the plot was very slow 'til the very end, the description of places and situations was a lot more visual and terse, compared to the poetic and scenographic one used in Malinverno. Even if the plot itself didn't mean too much to me, everything around it did. I found a bit of myself in the protagonist, Liberata, who lives through her photonovels just like I've always relied so much on literature to survive in a world I've never felt completely part of, a world that has always felt uglier than the one I fantasized about, the one I wanted to be in. The real world never catched up to my expectations of it. And just when Liberata feels that her world is slowly turning upside down, and life seems to gain the worth to be lived, well, that's when the plot starts to uncover. But as there's a bit of Liberata in me, there's a bit of Zangari too: he's a side character I perceived as completely failed by the life he led, whose only purpose is to take care of his family, and eventually, to regain his place in the world by writing and publishing his book. I liked that Zangari turns out to be so much more. I loved how in the end he's so touched by themes such as forgiveness and faith. I loved how his point of view started somehow as opposite as Liberata's one but also always felt connected to her; I loved how she influences him and he influences her. I liked that not everything is what it seems, I liked how every side charcater is never there for nothing, I liked the political insert of what was happening during the '70s in Italy. I liked that the mc and her bestie are obsessed with an actor and the part where they finally get to meet him and thank him is described in detail: I felt so seen, because what it's important in life, if not finding comfort in art and getting to meet someone who played that huge part in making you feel understood? Getting to say a stupid and ordinary "thank you" as your heart races? So yeah I have a lot more to say abouth this book, but it's enough for now. Let's just say that I do really understand what Dara is trying to say, and for that I'm so thankful.

Beaver Moon

Start a book in the evening: The Overcoat (Il Cappotto), by Nikolaj Gogol'. ☆☆☆☆ This version of the short story was translated by Clemente Rebora and had a commentary written by him too, dated back in 1920: he gave a way too religious interpretation of it than I think the author intented, but I have to say that I didn't quite mind it that much, since it gave me some cues to reflect upon. Having said that, I really enjoyed this book, even if I still have to understand if I like the way the writer writes (lol), which I know is quite hard, since we have to rely on traductions. And this traduction is, as I undertood, a lot more metaphorical or iperbolical in some parts of the text. Don't get me wrong, I usually love this writing style if done well: it remains the fact that I haven't read anything else by Gogol', so I can't have a complete view, still. What I liked about this book is the plot itself and how coherently it progresses, I also think the end was very fitting. And ofc I liked having another story revolving around the same topics I love reading about from the russian literature: yes I'm talking about the lifestyles differences between the lowly office drones and the wealthy class. This is so visible both in the descriptions and in the plot itself, that it doesn't even need to be criticized any more (but trust me, Gogol' does it anyways). Oh and I also liked how the end kinda erase a neat depiction of good-vs-evil. Yeah I think that is all.
