Okay so you know those old fashion pixel jrpg games that look like adventure games or any/most rpg for that matter really... But like you are a new adventurer ever since you were a kid you always wanted to become one and here you are finally you signed into your new guild and not knowing you signed into a trap. Well, some might have known who knows.

They fall in love with you, some more infatuation than love. Human or magical creatures, all of them fall for your one way or another and all of them are obsessive and possessive. Say the person on the counter handling all the missions and quests, or one guy always stays at the corner of a bar. How about that slime that followed you through the dungeon or an elf who found you sleeping under a tree. A group of fairies just seeing you so adorable wanting to keep you for themselves. A ghost that haunts your dreams, or a prince delusional enough to think he is a prince charming.

How about ogres just finding you so small compared to them. Taking you away even as you screamed at them to let you down. You are supposed to kill a vampire but he falls in love with you or maybe it was the vampire hunter who fell for you making up stories that you were a vampire just so that he would be the one to keep you. Imps and devils finding you so deliciously innocent that they try to make a deal with you.

Just a thought. I saw too many rpg markers this week.

~My Thoughts on Wonderful Pretty Cure! - Episodes 41-45~

Episode 41 - Yuki On Stage!:

I don’t have much to say about this episode at all. It’s just more filler.

I did really like the theatre kids. They were really funny. And the story was pretty cute.

Yuki looked so beautiful in that dress. She really looked the part of the goddess she was playing. And it was pretty funny how Niko appearing was only talked about once, and never again. Typical Pretty Cure stuff.

Zakuro continues to disappoint me every time she appears. This time, she’s proven even more just how un-loyal she is to Gaon. And not only was it once again for a minor, but for a girl as well. I’m not saying that in a homophobic way. Just a “no one is safe” way.

It really sucks just how much filler is in this season…

Episode 42 - Everyone’s Wonderful Pets!:

Again, more filler. But this one was cute and entertaining, so I don’t mind.

Seeing Animal Town’s residents and their pets was so sweet. I also love how everyone reflects an animal as well. Like how Kanie’s like a crab(and owns them), and how the mayor’s like a bird. It’s just a fun detail.

I really wish we got more of a realistic interaction between human Yuki and Mayu’s father. He just accepts that she can turn human; not questioning anything. But I should really know by now that realistic parents are too much to ask for in Pretty Cure. They just go with anything, haha.

I’m getting more and more curious about if the show’s hinting at Torame being reformed. He just wants to play, and always has fun with the Pretty Cure. I hope he does switch sides. He really deserves better than Zakuro.

Episode 43 - Feelings Spun Together:

Realizing just how much Mayu has grown makes me feel so proud. She couldn’t even speak to people when we were first introduced to her. But now, she’s teaching her friends how to knit with no problems! I feel like a proud mother.

I fully expected this episode to be pure filler. But I was pleasantly surprised when we got some lore! Gaou and the human who wrote the journal were friends. Obviously, something must’ve happened to make him hate humans so much. My initial guess was that the man might’ve joined others in hunting the wolves down. But it didn’t make sense to me.

So my actual theory is that the other humans did something to the nice one to prevent him from defending the wolves. Gaou got mad that they’d do that to their own species. And since they also hunted his own, he started hating humans.

That’s my guess. We can find out if I’m right after around a month.

Lastly, we got some focus on Zakuro. It looks like she’s starting to question Gaou. I really didn’t expect that. I thought it would only be Torame who had a chance to be reformed. But the more the merrier, I guess!

Episode 44 - Lots of Happiness:

As someone with a pet who’s getting old, this episode hit me hard. The fact that I’ll eventually have to say goodbye to my sweet baby crosses my mind every day. This episode made me put myself in Otsuru’s shoes, and partly experience what that’ll be like.

I didn’t expect to see a pet death in Wonderful Pretty Cure. I knew it was a possibility, but I highly doubted it coming true due to this season’s happy and silly nature. So I praise the show for adding this. Saying goodbye to our pets is a harsh reality most don’t like to think about. But this episode makes us watch and experience the emotions that are happening on screen. It hurts, but I believe it’s a good thing.

The moment Fuku stood up to try and cheer Otsuru up made me cry harder than I already was. It really highlights how our pets see us as the most important things in their lives. All they want is to be happy with us. So even in her last moments, Fuku found a way to put a smile on Otsuru’s face.

I also loved that Torame paused the Gaogaon just to let Otsuru through. He really does care about animals, and he’s always proving it.

After watching this episode, I made sure to give my pets lots of love. And I suggest all of you to do the same, if you have one. Animals’ lifespans are so unfortunately short, so give them all the affection you can. Because time flies faster than we can imagine.

Episode 45 - Friends Forever:

I’ve known Torame wasn’t all bad for a while now. For the past few episodes, I was really hoping he’d be reformed. And he was, but not in the way I expected.

It made me so happy seeing him run and play with the others. That’s really all he wanted this whole time. So I’m glad he finally got to have proper fun.

I can’t believe I didn’t fully comprehend that Torame was already dead before. It only sunk in once he was purified. While I’m really sad to see his character go, I’m happy his spirit was finally put to rest. He was my favorite villain of this season, so I’m glad he got a happy ending.

Rotating my current favourite Vocal Synth AU called 'Accidentally a Magical Girl?!' (or shortened to AMG) in my head lately, and I'm so happy that my friends enjoy it as much as I do!

It focuses on Yumemi Nemu, Xin Hua, Mayu, & Tohoku Zunko being summoned as magical girls by the ultimate magi-girl goddess, Rana, and having to fight against a bunch of other Vocal Synths magi-fighters who have been corrupted under Fukase, a magi-boy, who uses everyone he corrupts under his magic. (Or is it really Fukase causing all of this to happen?)

It's chaotic, it's queer, there's found families and some romance as well! I can't wait to work on this series more with my friends as a writing project!

Day 6: Halcyon [FFXIV Writing Challenge 2024]

The frigid mountaintop winds pierce the young Doman's coat, sending a shiver down her spine. Mayu's grip on her father's hand tightens as they walk along the ice, which he squeezes in return to reassure her. The two come to a stop after a few more minutes of trekking across snow and ice, arriving at their first ice hole.

"Dad, what if we don't find any here?"

"We'll find some, Yuyu." His gruff voice carries over the winds, almost becoming one with them for a brief moment. "Here."

A gloved hand offers out a rod towards Mayu. At the same time, the winds quiet down, falling snow now gently gracing the ground like falling feathers. Mayu hesitates, which causes her father to repeat the motion with a grunt.

"I'm not sure I can do it…" She mumbles through her jacket, taking the rod in both hands. "Last time I didn't get any."

"That doesn't matter," her father responds in a curt but gentle tone. "sometimes we don't succeed in our early ventures. But if we give up before we try, that is when we truly fail." He sets out a chair for Mayu. "Now, fish."

Mayu complies, sitting down. She attaches the bait to the jiggling rod, casting her line down the hole. The Doman youth buries her face in the jacket, ready to reel in a potential catch. Her father watches the horizon, content to sit in silence…

Suddenly, a bite!

Mayu cries out excitedly while her father jumps to his feet, barking orders to help her reel the fish back up the ice hole, her rapidly beating heart making it difficult to hear. After what feels like an eternal struggle, Mayu feels her father places his hands on her arms, and together, they do one final pull!

The fish erupts from the water, splashing both of them. Her hands, shaking with adrenaline, helps her father unhook the fish from the line. The two hug, her father's affection warming Mayu up through her jacket.

"You did good, Yuyu." His voice was soft, beaming. "Never give up, not until you've seen it through to the end."

Thinking about my arranged marriage!Neuvillette. Where reader has an interest in alcohol. Not to the point of being a drunkard but she likes to have it on occasions. The first time she drank it was with Neuvi and he saw her eyes sparkle at the taste, which was very foreign in his eyes. Once upon a time, she would sometimes invite him for a drink, but at some point she just never did. She has many habits that could be a showing of "affection", but inviting him for a drink of wine when she just could not sleep never really stuck.

And when Neuvillette realized that he could not help but become solemn at the thought. There were multiple occasions where he saw you with a glass late at night looking out the window, deep in thought enough not to notice him. Before he left thinking that you would like time for yourself, now he could not help but realize that even when time past nothing really changed after years.

Without the alcohol coursing through her veins, perhaps Mayu would have cared more that he has caught her at a truly low point; half-slumped on the rug, a bottle of wine nursed n her arms, mood spoiled like a month-old basket of berries. Mac's body barely fits in the space between the coffee table and the couch, but he tucks himself by her side all the same, steady and warm. A dry rock amongst the storm. A bleeding, still-beating heart. An idiot who doesn't listen when she tells him to go away; and does listen when she drivels on, fizz in her brain, wine on her lips. Everything spins. Her vision, her thoughts, her words — a downward spiral that has her leaning against his arm, eyes closed tight, fingers clutching the material of his shirt.

"You are not unlovable. There is always something to love."

Who started this topic? Him? Her? Why? She cannot recall, stuck in the now with no concept of past and future — heavy limbs, heavier head. "Easy for yu t'say — az easy az it'is to be lovd when y--- Yu're you," lose her tongue may be, Mayu trips over it again and again, stumbling gracelessly into an argument that bears her vulnerability for the world to see and further proves her point — instead of doling out a simple 'thank you', basking in the comfort so freely given, she bites and snarls, a caged beast. "'nd I'm not yu."

What is there to love about her? The scowl, near-permanent on her face? The way she kisses at his skin with poison dripping from her lips ? The heart, like a tart shriveled apple, fed to him piece by piece yet never filling? "I know, i 'now, yu're goin'to tell me that m'lil broth'r lovs me. 'Course he does, I'm like mom to him, no, i AM a mom to him." 

"Or that yu lov me, 'n well--" she tilts her head up and looks into his eyes — once the calming blue of the sea, now the burning gold of a sun — the very same eyes that near beg to be hurt by bitches like her. Not unlike a crawfish that had found its way onto her plate, Mac is all tough exterior and vulnerable innards; a soft heart, so easy to crush and rip and devour. And her? A whetted knife slicing into his tender flesh. "Maybe yu should't."

Even the sour tang of dry wine cannot wash out the bitter aftertaste of truth. 

"Yu should't," she repeats, murmuring the words into the skin on his arm — a quiet confession to whichever one of his tattoos is the closest. "But yu do... 'nd I lov yu too."

Episode 21 - Mayu and Yuki’s School Life:

I loved this episode! It was so funny!

As expected, Yuki’s good at pretty much everything in school. I wonder if there’s gonna be anything she’s not good at. Maybe there’ll be an episode surrounding that.

I just about died when she tried squeezing into Mayu’s chair, and then tried getting that kid to move out of his, so she could sit next to her. She clearly doesn’t get how assigned seats work. But I guess she’s content enough with having to sit behind Mayu instead.

The whole embroidery thing was super cute. I love how Mayu’s kind of teaching Komugi and Iroha how to do it. Also, I just wanna brag that I knew exactly what the girls were trying to embroider, even though it looked terrible😌.

As a little critique, I thought the whole “backstory” about Mayu and her old friend was really random. It just came out of nowhere, with almost no foreshadowing whatsoever. Yuki treated it like some big, serious thing, but I feel like it’s probably not gonna be mentioned again.

Next, I just wanna take a moment to gush over the “Nyanderful Precure” part. I was really hoping that would happen! I wonder what Satoru and Daifuku would say when if they become Pretty Cures. I don’t know what sound rabbits make in Japan.

I like how the first thing Cure Nyammy does with a Kirarin Animal’s power, is turning Cure Wonderful into a tire. Just thought that was funny. She didn’t bother turning herself into one. Nope, just Komugi.

We also got a new animation for Lillian and Nyammy for calling the animals home. Though, I wonder if they’re using Wonderful and Friendy’s suitcase, or if they got their own and we didn’t see.

Overall, I loved this episode! I can’t wait for the next one!

Episode 22 - Wonderful Go!:

This episode wasn’t my favorite. I’m not a fan of sports/athletics episodes. But it was still alright. I mean, it was super cute. So it couldn’t be awful.

I was a bit confused on how Komugi didn’t understand Iroha’s first commands, because she understands human language perfectly. And she usually obeys every other time. But I guess it was just for the sake of the plot.

It was pretty cool how in sync Wonderful and Friendy were during battle. The platforms were a nice idea too. And it’s great how even though this episode was focused on them, Nyammy and Lillian still got plenty of screen time. They even did the finishing attack.

Lastly, I just wanna express how excited I am for next week’s episode! The festival episodes are always some of my favorites. I love seeing all the pretty yukata designs, and the cute hairstyles! Komugi looked absolutely precious in the preview, and Yuki looked so beautiful!

Episode 23 - Making Wishes, Wao~~~~~n:

I always love the festival episodes. They’re always so fun! And this one was no exception!

Everyone’s outfits were so cute! Komugi’s was definitely my favorite. Precure always puts so much care into designing yukatas for their characters. Well… except for Satoru, I guess. His was so plain.

Mayu’s mom finding out that Yuki can turn human was disappointingly underwhelming. I was expecting her to be overjoyed, but she was so casual about it. But oh well, at least she accepts her.

We also got some foreshadowing to Daifuku becoming a Cure(hopefully)! According to Yuki, he’s no ordinary rabbit! And of course, we also got some cute little crush moments from Satoru. The part where he helped Iroha with her sandals was so sweet!

Also, all the Kirarin Animals are back! But it seems something else is coming…

I hope we get some real villains soon! Maybe then, the Pretty Cure will actually start fighting!

Lastly, I gotta talk about the new ending.

It was so good!

I can’t decide if I like this one better, or the first one. The song is just so cute and upbeat! And it sounds so unique compared to all the others! It is a bit sad that they got rid of the expensive models though..

I wonder how they’ll add the midseasons to it. Maybe, we’ll get a whole new song entirely? Though that’s probably just wishful thinking…

Episode 24 - A Very Strange Egg:

This episode was alright. Not my favorite, but it was good!

First thing I wanna get out of the way is that I had no idea Niko-sama was a girl. I always thought of her as a boy haha. Not that it matters, but I was just shocked for a second.

I’m very curious as to what Niko-sama will look like. Judging by the horn on the egg, it’s clear she’ll be at least a bit unicorn-like. But Mey-Mey said that there are no other animals like her, so she might be completely unique. Although, unicorns don’t exist, so she might just be one. But at the same time, horses are almost identical. Hmm.

I was super excited that the egg only lit up once everyone was touching it, including Satoru and Daifuku! Hopefully this is a sign of them becoming Cures! Also, it’s super weird how the egg keeps teleporting to Iroha’s house. I wonder why it does that…

Next, I’m gonna mention the new version of the ending! We got a Nyammy and Lillian duet! I really like it. It’s very sassy and cool!

I’m not super excited for the next episode. It’s clearly a beach filler episode, which I’m not a fan of. But I do have to say this: Komugi’s swimsuit is adorable! I want it for myself!

Episode 25 - Summer! Beach! Homework!:

Just as I suspected, this episode was just filler. But it was still alright.

I really liked the design of the girls’ swimsuits! I want to own all of them! Well… except for Satoru’s. Did the designers even try with his outfits?

I surprisingly learned quite a bit about sea turtles. I didn’t know that the temperature could determine the gender! Thanks, Satoru!

I found it pretty odd how the focus and drama all of a sudden shifted to Mayu and Yuki during battle. It just felt really random. The drama was really laid on thick too. It really wasn’t all that necessary.

All in all, this episode was fine. But I hope the next one will be better.
