New Radicals were a one album wonder with Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too, with one of the most 90s covers I’ve ever seen, but this 1998 pop rock album should not be dismissed. Approached with a 70’s style rock and soul sensibility, it’s very upbeat and in a lot of ways transcends its own era, and this brainchild of Michigan born singer/producer/songwriter Gregg Alexander fells very much like a fully rounded passion project; there is no need for more, everything that needed to be said was said. Definitely worth checking out if you’re after a 90s throwback outside of my usual grunge/punk picks. Highlight tracks include You Get What You Give, Someday We’ll Know, Technicolor Lover, and Flowers. Available on iTunes and Spotify.
