favourite game of the series?

origins! although inquisition is very close as well.  inquisition was my favourite for a very time, but like midway through last year i replayed origins and it just felt.....so good. i really struggled with enjoying dao because of the clunky fighting system but an amazing mutual introduced me to a mod that lets u skip fights basically lol, so i was just able to focus on the story/characters/exploration of the game, which just....made me realize how immensely beautiful the game actually is, and i fell in love all over again aaaaa

how did you discover dragon age?

i was a huge mass effect fan ! mass effect was the game that motivated me to make this blog, actually, and obviously through following people i saw a lot of posts from the da community as well. so i bought origins and inquisition (i had NO idea there was a da2 until half way through awakening lmao) and tried to play origins but HATED it gtrhutgrhugtr and then eventually gave it another try like a month later and completely loved it and now here we are

how many times you’ve played the games?

not as many times as some people on here have - i would say origins maybe four times, da2 maybe twice, inquisition three times. but that also doesnt count all the timesw ive created new games and then abandoned them lol bc theres too many to count

favourite class?

at first it was rogue dual wielder ! i played as a rogue in every single first-time playthrough and idk i felt that class has always been the easiest/most op. but in the last maybe 2 years it’s changed to mage. ive always been super intimidated by magic classes in every game i play but i LOVE inquisition’s mage classes/specializations and i can never go back now

do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

im so so so bad and i usually end up making very similar choices, but usually bc i just......replay the same characters every time hgtuhgtruhgtrui. i REALLY need to make more da ocs to explore more choices but....i dont want to lol i already have to many. i still havent sided with the templars in a playthrough like i just cant do it 

go-to adventuring group?

i always bring my characters love interest with them no matter what, just bc its cute, but usually i try to evenly cycle the other characters around that. i always try to have a warrior/rogue/mage in every party. but sometimes i’ll go warrior/warrior/mage/mage especially if i need to focus on straight damage and a LOT of healing lol

my favourite parties would probably be:

dao - alistair + zevran + wynne (wholesome and also funny)

da2 - anders + fenris + merrill (SO much chaotic energy)

dai - solas + cassandra + cole (i just love them ok)

which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

ashara lavellan, my canon inquisitor who was never supposed to be canon tghtgurhtrg. my original canon inq was a trevelyan rogue, who was super nice and good. i made ashara so that i could actually play as an evil/mean character without feeling bad lol, oh and i also wanted to see what the deal with solas was bc i had heard his romance was good ;;;;) anyway that backfired and i ended up completely falling in love with her, and i STILL couldnt make the tough choices with her so i was like ok maybe she isnt THAT evil and now shes just..... the way she is now i guess lmao

trespasser ! its pretty simple and very plot-driven like u didnt have to worry about side missions as much as u would with other dlcs so idk that was... refreshing. but obviously i loved it just bc it was so beautiful and intense and sad (since my chara romanced solas obviously) and that music score????? unbelievable i’ll never be over it

i only have like 3 protag da characters and they’re all canon, although emeraude is an au. so ella is my canon warden and ashara is my canon inquisitor, but emeraude does exist in that universe, bc i hc she befriended the warden and alistair when they visited the alienage, and she was very outspokenly angry and didn’t really give a shit that alistair was going to be heir. which alistair really,,, appreciated i guess? so emeraude is made his official elven adviser after his coronation but she also kinda helps out as a royal protector because she’s one of the only people in court they both trust completely lol. also she is....stronk. 

and the only other characters i have for da are obviously side characters who are related to my canon protags so. they’re all canon as well lol

what did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

ella named her dog ser bark gthutgrhutghruihtr she thought it was cute ok

emeraude just went with barkspawn since alistair came up with the idea as a joke but she thought the joke was so bad she made them keep it as punishment vjhuightui

i dont really have a hawke oc but.....he named his dog shepard in my playthrough ! like from mass effect ;;;;)))

have you installed any mods?

origins is modded to hell and back and i genuinely couldn’t play the game without mods at this point. inquisition is slightly modded but im in the process of removing them all, and only keeping a few because my game runs pretty terribly with them installed 

did your warden want to become a grey warden?

ella did ! but it was kind of,, a naive childhood dream, she had a really romanticized view of the wardens and she wanted a life of excitement and bravery and adventure, not really taking into consider all the bad things about it (and obviously not knowing the full truth about what it means to be a warden)

emeraude did NOT want to be a warden. she basically had to be dragged out of the alienage because she wanted to stay and protect her community. she never really enjoyed being a warden, although her friendship with alistair was its one redeeming quality 

hawke’s personality?

uh i cant remember the colour/personality thing but he was a combo of funny/ethical. mostly there for memes tho. 

did you make matching armor for your companions in inquisition?

for origins i do ! i always make sure alistair and ella wear the grey warden armour, as well as every warden in awakening. thats like, all theyre allowed to wear lmao.

if your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

ella would obviously change her family’s murder lol, and emeraude would at least try and change what happened at her wedding, to prevent shianni and the others from being hurt. 

ashara would change romancing solas :((( she was so angry at herself after discovering who he was, and she felt weak and foolish which she HATES more than any other feeling, so she definitely wishes she had never met him for a long time. after she kind of processes it though, and learns to deal with her anger, her answer would be that she wishes she had saved the chargers. it’s the one move she made that actually keeps her up at night sometimes. 

do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

ghuitrhuigtrhugtr so many. canon? dont know her. 

the biggest example would be that i hc king!alistair was at the winter palace during the wicked hearts level. because uh..... celene and the fereldan monarchs had been corrosponding for over 10 years, trying to build up rapport, of COURSE the king would be there to see who the potential ruler/s of orlais would be and whether or not he ought to be worried. like. im sorry but alistair was there lol you can’t change my mind. i also hc he helps ashara with information about the grey wardens during this chapter, because ???? it just makes sense??? im so angry i wish this was canon

are any of your characters based on someone?

ok it was unintentional but ashara reminds me of an english teacher i had in highschool who was very scary but also....really cool and i loved her. it was an accident but,, still counts. 

who did you leave in the fade?

gtiturghtugh okay at the risk of pissing off EVERYBODY who reads this, i left hawke in the fade, even though it was a toss up between hawke and stroud. it was ashara’s fault tho !!! she would have 100% prioritzed an alliance with the grey wardens over like,, some guy. it broke my heart but yeah That happened.

01) Favourite game of the series? 

Inquisition. It holds a very special place in my heart no thanks to Kaaras, and him being my first experience with the Dragon Age series <3 It’s just got all the right elements for me. 

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

Actually, and old friend from when I was in my previous fandom said I’d like it because I loved Mass Effect. No regrets ever since, and I knew I needed this game as soon as I saw that Bull romance scene >.> 

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

I’ve finished Origins once, DA2 I’ve done twice, and DA:I I’ve done... a lot >.> I keep making new characters, but I always go back to Kaaras because he’s my baby and I love him. 

04) Favourite race to play as?

Qunari! <3 They are unique and BIG. Anything with horns is an instant heck yes for me! 

05) Favorited class?

Mage. 

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

That entirely depends on the character I’m playing. I have a fair few other characters in DA:I who are each their own, and I replayed DA 2 because I wanted to get a better feel of my Hawke, who turned out SO different to my first playthrough. If I replay Origins, I will most likely play as a new character as well, who will have their own choices. The only way I’m making the same choices would entirely depend on what kind of character I’m playing. 

07) Go-to adventuring group?

I will ALWAYS take my LI in the party, unless it’s Fenris and a mission he will disapprove on, hahaha. DA:O was Zevran, Wynne and a mix on the third character. DA2 is generally Fenris, Varric (always), and Sebastian or Aveline. I always bring the companion quest member to their quest. DA:I depends on the character I am playing because they all have their favourites. Kaaras takes Bull always, Dorian, Varric and Cass. Basically he never takes Blackwall, Sera and rarely Solas. 

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

I’ll be honest, none, LOL. Overall, I’d say Kaaras, because he’s my favourite and my biggest, but when I MADE him... I put literally 0 thought into him at all. He just grew and grew on me, and here we are. 

09) Favourite romance?

Iron Bull, Josephine, Cassandra, Fenris, Zevran, Alistair, Dorian. I’ve yet to SEE some of them, like Leliana and Morrigan, which I would like to eventually. Oh... and Harding IF you could actually romance her.  

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?

I’ve only read some of Asunder, but I have some of the comics as well, I just need to actually read them.

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?

I’ve only read half of Asunder, and it kind of bored me... 

12) Favourite DLCs?

Tresspasser, it’s just got this... weird atmosphere to it that really pulls me in, but also makes me sad... I dunno. I also love Jaws of Hakkon. 

13) Things that annoy you.

Look, I love Dragon Age, and the slight annoyances aren’t going to ruin the experience for me. I love the games, I love everything. I’m not going to say shit about it, lol. If you’ve got something specific to ask, then ask me.

Mages.

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

They are all in the same story line. My Hero, my Hawke, and Kaaras are all in the same canon universe. All of the other muses I’ve made are all COMPANION muses, who also belong in the same universe. Not gunna lie, the thought of making a different Hawke, different Hero or different Inquisitor honestly feels like a betrayal to my own characters, so I will never make a different one. They will all belong in the one story line and that’s that. It’s like my big whole canon story to me. 

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

I think I named him Woof in Origins and Dog in DA 2. Can’t remember tho, lol. 

18) Have you installed any mods?

I started off playing DA:I and DA 2 on Xbox, so at the start, nothing was modded. When I got DA:I on PC, I installed mods, but Kaaras is still very vanilla, most of the mods I use are merely armour replaces, environmental mods and ones to make blood stay off clothes, etc. Maybe a hair mod here, but that’s about it when it comes to their looks. 

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

At the start, not really. She just wanted to survive, lol. So... she did what she had to. 

20) Hawke’s personality?

My Hawke is very stern. He is a mix of blue and red mostly. 

21) Did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?

No, lol. XD 

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

My Hero and Kaaras know that they can’t change the past, even if they wish to. They’ve accepted that life has to move forward. My Hawke? He suffered the most, and he has many regrets, most of those are for the loss of his mother, what happened in Kirkwall he blames himself for, and Anders, and he wishes he could turn it all back.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

No, I’m pretty strict on when it comes to canon. The only thing is the qunari background in DA:I isn’t Kaaras’ background. I’ve tweaked that so it gits his true background better. 

24) Who did you leave in the Fade?

Stroud.

Aahh omg thank you so much for sending these !! It makes me so happy you have no idea (*´▽｀*) It might sound pathetic lol but I never get to talk about Dragon Age with other people so it makes so happy to answer these, thank you so much for taking the time to send me those asks !

1. How did you get into Dragon Age?

I got into Dragon Age by following other people’s blogs; since I mostly follow gaming blogs, I would often see Dragon Age content on my dash and I had no idea what this game was about. So I did some research and found out that it was a game from Bioware. I got a little bit curious because, at the time, I had finished playing Mass Effect 2 and really enjoyed it. So, when I saw some screenshots of Dragon Age, I thought that maybe it could be a fun game to play. At first, I was a little bit skeptical about the gameplay but I still tried the game and just fell in love with its characters and its world. Plus it had character customization which I’m a sucker for lol.

12. Do you prefer DA:O, DA2, or DA:I most?

This is a really hard question that I often ask myself lol. For me, it’s a draw between DA:O & DA:I because I’m not gonna lie, when I first played DA2 I was disappointed by it (Now I do enjoy it). I love DA:O & DA:I to death, I think they are amazing in their own way; they both have their strengths and weaknesses. However, I would lean toward Dragon Age: Origins as it was the game that got me into the franchise. As the saying goes, you never forget your first love lol but yeah I always end up replaying it and it always brings me so much joy. As soon as I start the game, the main theme always makes me feel like I’m home (Just like Dearly Beloved in Kingdom Hearts).  

49. Something you do in EVERY DA playthrough, no matter what?

Romance the same people with the same characters I guess haha. For a game that encourages you to replay the game to see different outcomes, I always end up doing the same thing lol. I would say that I always try to take with me The Iron Bull, Sera and Cassandra when hunting Dragons because of their backstories no matter who is the Inquisitor.

73. Favorite OST song(s)?

Some of my favorite OST are the Camp Theme (DA:O), Main theme (DA:O), Lost Temple (DA:I), Lost Elf Theme (DA:I Trespasser), Thedas love theme (DA:I) and the tavern songs (I hope they bring them back in DA4 !). These songs always make me feel nostalgic for some reason I can’t really explain. I think they are beautiful.

77. What moment/memory still gives you chills/feels?

The exchange between Morrigan and Flemeth in DAI. I don’t know nor can explain why it always gives me chill. The powerful speech of Mythal always gets me and if Morrigan is a mother, you can see how much her character grew over the years. Claudia Black and Kate Mulgrew did an amazing job of voicing those two characters ! Definitely one of my favorites scenes in all the franchise. The scene with Solas in Trespasser always gives me chills too. It makes me so emotional and I didn’t even romance that damn egg lol !

78. What are you hoping for from DA4?

Aah this is going to be a long list lol.

★ Firstly, I know that a lot of people won’t agree with me but I hope we won’t play as the Inquisitor again in DA4 because what I absolutely love in Dragon Age is that you re-discover the world and meet new characters/old acquaintances from a new pair of eyes which is always fun. Unlike Mass Effect, it doesn’t have a recurrent protagonist which is what I personally prefer for this kind of storytelling. However, I do believe that the Inquisitor needs to come back because, well obviously, their story with Solas is far from being over. I hope we play them as a 2nd protagonist.

★ Next, I want origins back. They kind of did that in DA:I but you didn’t get to experience it and in the end regardless of who you were, you would start at the same point (It worked for DA:I’s story but still). I loved meeting my family as a Cousland, fighting for my freedom as a city elf. It was so fun in DA:O to start a new game just to experience all the different origins that were available and I think it was much more immersive and served as a great tutorial, so I really hope they bring that back. (Plus if the game is taking place in Tevinter, imagine the possibilities for each origins !)

★ Also, I don’t care if Bioware plays a deus-ex machina on us but I really want them to bring back Krem as a romanceable companion okay ;___; maybe if you abandoned The Chargers, he was actually the only survivor or something idk just bring him back ( ；´Д｀) Unfortunately, I don’t think it will happen T.T Oh and a cameo of SANDAL !! I miss him so much !! Also Shale !!! I need to see Shale again !!! And Kieran… I need to know more about him !

★ I know some people want this but please, no big ass open world. Small, compact and well-designed areas are, I think, all we need. Kinda like DA:I but smaller and less empty in some areas (For the love of God, do not bring back the Hissing Wastes; it was pretty for like 2 seconds but so boring. It was the only place where I actually used my mount ._.) Also, if we could travel to places we’ve never been before like Antiva ect. it would be awsome !

★ More meaningful side quests. I love DA:I but some side quests I don’t understand why they are in the game if they don’t have an impact on the world or don’t connect well with each other :/  

★ This is unimportant but I would love to see the desire demons back; they are my fav designs when it comes to demons.

★ Also unimportant and I know it won’t happen but please give us an option to change the dialogue wheel to a dialogue box or something ;_ ; I personally dislike the dialogue wheel with a passion as you can’t really tell what your character will say. Because the protagonist was silent in DA:O, you needed to know what they were gonna say word for word which is what I prefer. I think it added charm&personality to the Warden because even if there were similar responses, they would have different tone etc. to match your Warden’s personality. I hope they do that in term of designs but nowadays I think it is pretty rare in games like these.

★ I like the Dragon Age Keep ! If they could do the Inquisition tapestry narrated again by Varric for DA4 that would be great !

★ The other day I rewatched The Hobbit for the millionth time and thought it would be cool to see an even more badass side of the dwarves in Dragon Age. We might just get that if we learn more about the Titans in DA4.

★ The options to give hug to my friends. I mean like come on, I know romance is important but so is friendship :D !

79. What are you worried about for DA4 ?

Ummm for the moment as we know literally nothing about it, I’m not very worried (Actually now that I think about it, that should worry me lmao). I know a lot of people are because many important people from Bioware decided to leave the company but as of right now, I am waiting. I just hope they’ll take their time to polish the game, animations, story, characters, choices etc.    

99. Where would you live (Fereldan, Orlais, Free Marches etc?)

I always imagine myself in Orlais just because I speak French lmao and tbh Val Royaux is really pretty. I would suck at the Game though rofl. And while I like Ferelden, knowing it smells like wet dog and garbage it doesn’t sound too homy to me lol (Well all of Thedas if we’re being real here) but anyway I would go maybe with Rivain.
