Hello Anon and thank you for this prompt! I am SO SORRY it has taken me so long. It's been sitting in my inbox for literal months, but I finally put something together for it!

The thing about Obi-Wan Kenobi is he won’t willingly show anyone how hard the war is on him — how badly he’s taking it all. 

Though he is a skilled and cunning warrior, that part of him is the part he resents the most. He loathes the clever strategist and despises the skilled swordsman. He takes no pride in his achievements in battle — not when he’s experienced so many losses. 

It is this side of himself he can’t stand to be alone with. 

The latest battle was a bad one — ultimately successful, but Obi-Wan doesn’t consider any battle a success. Not really. So when he stumbles back into his quarters on board The Negotiator, he doesn’t stay long. He stays long enough to wash the dirt and grim and blood spatter off of his skin, but he leaves as soon as he possibly can. 

His men walk through the halls and he can sense their somber moods before they can even pause in their strides to salute him. 

He’s always hated the gesture. 

Exhaustion clings to his bones, but he doesn’t dare go back to his quarters. Besides, he has plenty of work to do. Even if he wanted to crawl into his bunk, he knows it would not be the responsible choice. Briefings and reports await him, as does the latest batch of death certificates he needs to sign. 

He makes his way to a meeting room near the bridge and settles in for a night of paperwork meant to sum up the events that would never truly leave Obi-Wan’s mind. 

His datapad flickers to life and he squints at the bright blue light before his eyes adjust and he sets to work. 

The progress he makes seems minuscule as the never-ending reports keep coming in for him to fill out. He yawns a few times and rubs his dry eyes, but manages to stay awake and work on his reports.

Until someone clears their throat.

Startled, Obi-Wan looks up sharply before he realizes it’s Cody that stands before him. A small voice in the back of his head wonders why he didn’t sense Cody appear as soon as he was within fifty feet of him, but he shelves the thought for another time. 

“Hello Commander,” Obi-Wan says. His voice comes out hoarse from disuse. 

“General,” Cody says, almost tentative. “I think you should go to bed.”

“What about you?” Obi-Wan deflects. “You were in the battle just as I was and here you stand. If I need my rest then so do you.”

“Sir, I have rested. It’s morning.” 

Obi-Wan blinks in surprise. It’s so hard to tell when morning and night begin and end when traveling through hyperspace. Just another aspect of this war he cannot stand. 

“I didn’t realize,” Obi-Wan says honestly. Though, even if he did, he’s not sure he would have returned to his quarters anyway. He runs a hand through his grey-flecked hair, smoothing it back and out of his eyes. 

“It’s alright. I know yesterday was… difficult.”

“It’s always difficult,” Obi-Wan says, more to himself than to Cody, yet sympathetic eyes stare back at him. 

“I know,” Cody says softly. “We’ve all been there, General.” 

Though the words are meant to be empathetic, they only make Obi-Wan feel colder. He doesn’t want Cody to feel the way he does. He doesn’t want anyone to feel the way he does. 

“What I’m trying to say…” Cody begins, seemingly picking up on Obi-Wan’s thoughts, “What I’m trying to say is that you’re not alone in this. Just cause you’re the General doesn’t mean you aren’t one of us — one of our brothers.”

Something in Obi-Wan threatens to crack open. He keeps his composure, but he knows how much those words mean. He knows better than most the value of brotherhood. 

“Thank you,” Obi-Wan says softly, holding Cody’s gaze and hoping he understands just how much he means it. 

“Of course, General.” Cody nods his head to the door. “Ready to go to your quarters now?”

“Yes, I think I am.” Obi-Wan stands, but a wave of dizziness hits him. He sways on his feet, unsteady until a firm grip grabs his arm and holds him upright. 

“Are you alright?”

“Yes, I’m fine. No need for concern,” Obi-Wan says, waving him off.

Cody frowns but doesn’t fight him. His grip loosens, but Cody doesn’t let go of Obi-Wan the entire way to his quarters. Obi-Wan finds he doesn’t mind. 

When they get to his door, a sudden wave of dread crashes over him. 

“Cody,” Obi-Wan chokes. His mouth is so dry he can barely speak his Commander’s name. “I can’t be here… I can’t be here alone.” 

“I can stay with you if you’d like?” 

Obi-Wan’s cheeks redden in humiliation, but he can’t bring himself to turn down Cody’s offer. Cody follows him inside.

Only when he lays eyes on his bed does he realize how exhausted he truly is. He sags down into it, even with his boots still on his feet. 

“Goodnight, General,” Cody says.

“Goodnight,” Obi-Wan murmurs.

In the morning, he finds himself covered in a blanket he didn’t have before, his boots set neatly on the floor, and his Commander watching over him at his side

The cult of...Danny Fenton?

So! Way back when Danny first moved into his new neighborhood in Gotham, he had some trouble controlling his Powers. The different Types and Levels of Ectoplasm in the air when compared to Amity had thrown off his control.

He was used to being in places where his Ectoplasm meshed well with the Atmosphere, like a Water Balloon in a Pool, but in Gotham that analogy would be closer to a Water Balloon in the sewers. It was too different from what he was used to to fully control his Powers.

So it's understandable that he messed up a few times and his neighbors found out about his Abilities.

They took it well at first, Danny wasn't going to go Rogues or anything, and he never used them maliciously, but eventually they got curious.

They asked what his limits were, how he got them in the first place, and what the hell the Ghost Zone was. The answers "None Really", "I died and was reborn", and "A Collective of every Afterlife at once" did spark some interesting reactions from them.

Most importantly, a few of them joked about him being an Eldritch God that they needed to worship. He was good enough friends with them that at that point they felt comfortable pranking eachother, so they did just that.

Danny woke up one day on his birthday, and saw all of his friends and neighbors surrounding the makeshift Throne they had made and put him on while he was asleep. The entire day they chanted stuff like "The Great One requires Ms. Smiths Apple Pie for his day of birth!" And "The Great One Wishes for us to sing the Ritual Song! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birth-"

After his birthday, they kept up the joke.

It didn't help that his powers had evolved Again! And now he could bestow abilities onto his friends. The jokes they made about their God granting them Supernatural Powers to rule the world with were insufferable.

Then, one day while he was just resting at home, watching a movie on his TV, he felt a Pull at his Core. The same kind of Pull whenever he was being summoned. But why would they summon hi- Oh Shit! It's Mr Jenkins Party today! He was supposed to meet them at the Warehouse they used for special events an Hour Ago!

He quickly accepted the Summoning, but was met with a suprising sight. His Neighbors all tied up in a pile to his right, a spilled table of party food to his left, and right in front of him, Batman and his Family watching him with wary eyes.

Slowly, he opened his mouth. "...so, did you come for the party or..."

in that moment. in that very last moment. excellent face acting by kathryn hahn because you see the second the pieces click into place. what pieces are those?

he's powerful enough to break a spell cast by the scarlet witch. he knew exactly where to find her in westview, which he would know because billy was right there when wanda cast the spell. in this episode he is able to say the name nicholas scratch further confirming rio's statement "that boy isn't yours". and, in that last scene, he very much sounds like a naive hero, which was how agatha viewed wanda for the majority of wandavision. he says he doesn't want to be that kind of witch, he doesn't want to hurt people, he doesn't want to kill anyone to further his own agenda.

and in that last moment, her behavior shifts because he's no longer just this kid she has been looking out for. he's wanda's son.

I love Brackenpaw in the graphic novel so much oh my god. He’s so polite and he only speaks in normal (by normal, I mean not-all-caps lettering you’d see in day to day) lettering. It’s probably to contrast him with how excitable and loud Cinderpaw is, but since Every Single Other Character always talks in all caps it just makes him seem like such a polite quiet little guy.. I adore him so much

HD Erised Art Claim - Stolen Glances 👀✨

It takes a while for their gazes to meet, but it doesn't mean they weren't always looking.

My giftee was @dodgerkedavra! It was very serendipitous, because dodger had written a fic earlier in the year based off of my prompt for the HD Hurt/Comfort fest. It felt like a good way that I could get her back, so... I tried my very best to!

She asked for: "kissing, intimate times, gorgeous light, when they’re looking at each other and so in love" and "intensity? of color" and "manbun", all of which I tried to deliver on. So yes, everyone thank her for the manbun.

A bit about it

I wanted to see if I could do the equivalent of a pining/slow-burn longfic with just a sequence of illustrations--and not even big, flashy ones with varying compositions--just relatively consistent shots that focus on them and the gradual shift in feelings towards one another.

The main concept was, as the title suggests, that they keep looking at each other when the other is not looking back. Visual yearning! In each illustration, the observer and observed swap. They seem to keep missing each other's glances, until the very last illustration, where they are gazing domestically at each other hahaha.

For each illustration I also tried to work with different color schemes, lighting, and moods, depending on what was happening. Draco's hair also goes on a bit of a journey, which was fun! It was my first time giving him long hair! My favorite length is just right before the manbun, when it's probably long enough to be annoying but not long enough to be put up.

The fest/exchange was all the right things for me - fun, inspiring, and challenging. Thanks to the lovely mods for all their hard work, and for making everything run so smoothly. And thanks to everyone who already left me really nice comments.
