“Okay, good news and bad news.” Steve said loudly, trying to wrangle the bunch of loud-mouthed colleagues around the table. “No, Steve, come on, man… No bad news today, we’re supposed to take a long weekend!” Sam groaned. Steve smiled guiltily. “Sorry. Good news first..” He smiled at you all. “We’re up by 4 % this term, and this team pulled the heavy weight on it!” everybody whooped a little, Sam and Bucky high fived. “To the shitty news…” He rubbed a hand against his neck. “The outsourced department had a crash in their systems and need us to pull up. I’m really sorry…” Bucky, Sam, Vis and Natasha all groaned collectively, and Wanda pouted. You sighed – a weekend off would’ve been nice, but it was too good to be true. “Steve…” Natasha sighed. “We can’t just do overtime! We’ve been told we had the long weekend for months and we’ve all made plans. He sighed. “No, you know what, you’re right. You guys take the long weekend. Relax, enjoy it, and I’ll tell them we can’t do overtime.” He clapped his hands. “Go on, what’re you waiting for? Get!” he smiled happily and you all began to pack away, but you caught the way he sighed and glanced to his office, before wishing you all a good weekend and went inside, closing the door to his office after him.
“Any plans for the weekend, Y/N?” Sam asked happily, smashing papers into his bag. “No, not really. Might have to fix the weeds in my yard, they’ve mutated.” Bucky chuckled. “Jesus, Y/N, don’t you have a riveting life?” He grinned at you. “Shut your hole, Buck,” You rolled your eyes playfully. “Have a good weekend, y’all!” Bucky called out as he left, and the rest of the team slowly moved out of the office, while you gathered papers, cups and other things that littered the space, you had worked at, before glancing at the closed door to your boss’s office.
You walked over slowly and opened the door He was buried in his computer, eyes narrowed on the screen. “Hey, Steve, can I—” He yelped and looked up, hand on his chest. “Fuck, you scared me, Y/N!” He laughed a little. “I’m so sorry, Steve, I thought you heard me come in.” You grinned at him. “Are you doing the overtime work yourself?” You asked, crossing your arms. “Uh… Maybe?” He smirked. “I didn’t want anybody’s plans to get ruined because of it, and I don’t have anything this weekend, so I can pick it up.” You walked to stand next to him and looked at the screens - it was a massive amount of work. “Steve, you’re going to work 24/7 through the weekend, if you do this alone.” “Well…” He shrugged. “Better me than you. Seriously, go home and have a nice weekend, go on a date or two.” You chuckled. “No dates in sight. I feel like this is a great weekend for work.” You said, pulling your laptop out of your bag, and sat down next to him. “Y/N, you really don’t have to…” “I want to. You shouldn’t do all of this alone.” You opened your laptop and smiled. “Now, send me the documents and let’s do this.”
------------
“How are you working this fast?” He asked incredulously. You had managed to get through most of the documents in record time, leaving barely any work to be done over the next few days. You stretched and glanced at the clock; you had been at it for four hours. “What can I say, I work best under pressure.” You grinned at him. “Besides, it helps that my boss is very hardworking and a joy to be around.” He chuckled. “Listen, it’s almost eight. How about we cut our losses and go eat on the company’s dime?” You raised an eyebrow. “You don’t think Tony is going to be angry that we’re spending company money?” Steve laughed loudly. “Ha, no. First of all, whatever we would spend on dinner would be change to that man. Secondly, he’s a buddy from college. He wouldn’t dare be mad at me, I’ve got too much dirt on him.” He winked at you and closed his computer down, stood and grabbed his jacket. “Well, then, Mr. Rogers…” you grabbed your own jacket and stood as well. “Lead the way.”
He found a small restaurant and they luckily had a table free – it was quaint and cozy, albeit slightly intimate for a work-dinner. You both ordered some of their Italian food and red wine, sipping it happily. “I feel a little bad that you’re stuck spending the evening with your boss.” He said after a few beats of silence. “You shouldn’t. I volunteered, remember?” “Yeah, but still.” He smiled. “You’re young, you should be painting the town and all that.” You giggled. “How old are you, Steve? Painting the town, what are you from, the 40’s?” You snorted. “It’s fine, honestly. I feel pretty comfortable in your company. Also outside of work.” He chuckled. “Well, luckily there isn’t a rule about spending time outside of work with each other.” He winked and you felt heat rush to your cheeks. It felt a little like he was flirting.
“Hey, can I ask you something?” he said after both plates had been emptied. “Sure.” “Why did you want to help?” You swallowed a sip of wine. “Honestly? First of all, because you shouldn’t be alone with all that work. Secondly, as stated before, I like your company, Steve.” You cleared your throat, deciding against talking about the work-fair you had a few months ago, where both of you had a little too much to drink and flirted so hard, you barely knew how to stand. “What’re you hiding?” He asked, leaning over the table with a sly smirk on his lips. “Nothing…” You bit your lip. “Come on, you can tell me. I’m curious!” Oh, boy, you were in trouble. There wasn’t really a rule per se about being in a relationship with your co-workers, but it seemed a little seedy to start banging your boss. “Is it about the work-fair?” He asked, smiling softly and blushed. You gaped. “I thought you were too drunk to remember!” He refilled your glass of wine. “Oh no, I don’t think I could ever forget that.” He said with a husky voice. “You were… Something.” You were sure you could fry an egg on your cheeks, with how warm they were. “Oh.” You didn’t know what to say. “I mean, if you’re… Not affected by it, or don’t want to talk about it, we’ll just leave it at that, promise.” He said and took a sip of wine. “But… I can’t keep my eyes off you. Even Bucky noticed it.” He grinned. “I mean… It’s not that I don’t…” You drew a deep breath. “Same. Honestly, Natasha and Wanda have been hounding me about it, it’s driving me crazy.” You chuckled a little and found his eyes. The place had nearly emptied out, and your little corner booth was bathed in soft, dim lights from the candles. “I have to ask though, did you… Uhm, did you mean any of it? Or…?” You asked softly, a little embarrassed. “Meant it? Sweetheart, I haven’t been able to not think about it.” He cocked his head to the left. “I meant every word. You were so fucking beautiful that day, and you just… yeah, I had a hard time focusing on anything after you made that first remark, really.” You chuckled.
It had just slipped out, really. You had been nervous as hell, and he looked like a damn vision in his white button down and blue tie, so when he said something about breaking his back on the desk – although you knew he meant that he was working too hard – you couldn’t help but tell him you can always break mine on it, if you’d like. And thus, office-flirting had begun. It was constant, and you had a hard time looking away from him. You both made small passes at each other, and whenever you were alone with him, you felt his eyes burning into you.
“I mean… In my defense, I was nervous.” You grinned at him. “Yeah, I could tell. I would’ve given a hell of a lot to help you get rid of the nerves, sweetheart.” He cocked an eyebrow at you. “I mean, I’ve… I’ve had an eye for you since you began working here.” You raised your eyebrows at him. “Not like that, I mean, I didn’t hire you because of that!” he quickly explained. “I hired you for your work ethic, really, and then you just… Look like that all the time.” He gestured to you. “Which makes it very hard to concentrate on anything.” He smiled. Your heart was in your throat and your hands were getting clammy. “So…” His phone rang and you pulled away from each other – you hadn’t even realized how close you’d gotten before he pulled away. “It’s Tony, I should probably…” He smiled apologetically. “Sure.” Maybe it was the wine warming your body, maybe you just didn’t really have any semblance of self-control left, but a wicked idea came to you as he answered his phone.
Hi, Tony. Yeah, we’re getting there.” You looked around – most of the patrons that were left, sat at the bar and the music was loud enough for nobody to hear you, and the dim lighting was the perfect cover. You slowly slid under the table, his eyes following you. “What are you doing, Y/N…?” He whispered, holding his hand over the phone. “Just keep talking.” You grinned wickedly at him and began undoing his pants. “Fucking hell…” He cleared his throat. “No, not you, Tony.” You opened his pants and almost drooled at the sight of his cock – he didn’t have boxers on, which made your job easier – and it was already semi hard, twitching slightly. “Uh, no, she’s here… Very solid work ethic.” He groaned as you wrapped your hand around his length, enjoying the pulsing vein on the underside of him, before you licked a stripe on the head, lapping the precum. He shifted in his seat and you grinned against him. “Uh, sorry… What?” He gasped and looked down at you between his legs, as you slowly inched your mouth over his now hard cock. He tensed as your nose hit his stomach and you gagged slightly around him. You began moving slowly, letting your tongue swirl as much as it could. “Fuck, how are you that good with your tongue?” He mumbled. “Uh, yeah, she’s… A’… Oh…” He moaned softly and the sound made you clench your thighs. Fuck, this man was hot. “Very talented. So… So… Talented…” You smiled around his cock and swirled your tongue again while hollowing your cheeks. You were gagging and spit ran down your chin, but it made it all the more sexy; he was trying desperately to avoid making sounds and his free hand found your hair, grabbing a tight hold. “Shit… Tony, I, uh, I have to go… very pressing, fuck, matters at hea- uh, hand.” You took him as deep as you could and stayed in place, his fingers flexing around your hair. “Shit… Yeah, alright, bye…” He hung up. “Baby, get up, you have to stop or I’m coming before the… Fucking shit…” he jerked his hips up a little. “Those fucking sounds… Jesus, get up…” you slowly pulled back and sat back up in your chair, wiping your lips with your thumb and looked at him. His blue eyes were so dark, you were unsure if they had ever even been blue.
“Let’s get the fuck out of here.” He said, flagging the waiter down. You grinned.
-------
You moaned as your back hit the wall, his hands roaming and lips demanding on yours; he tried to find the keyhole to his apartment, but refused to stop kissing you, so it turned into a very fumbling experience. “Steve…” You moaned his name. “Steve, for goodness sake, just unlock the damn door.” You laughed a little. He groaned and pulled his lips from you and finally unlocked the door – you didn’t even have to step inside, because he grabbed you with both hands, practically carrying you inside, smacking your back against the wall and closed the door with his foot. “Here’s the office… Don’t really give a shit about niceties right now.” He growled, fingers deftly undoing your shirt – you wrapped your legs around him and hovered with your back against the wall and mewled as his fingers found your nipple through the lacy fabric of your bra. He pinched it and you were about to turn into a fucking waterslide as his tongue massaged yours commandingly. “Fuck...” You mumbled against his lips. He groaned and lifted you from the wall, walking in a fast pace through the darkened office, sitting you down on his desk. He flicked the lights on before he furiously began undressing himself. You sprung into action as well, standing and started pulling various pieces of clothing off, and when you took your skirt off, he growled at the sight. “Fuck, look at you.” His eyes roamed your body from the thigh-highs to the garters you were wearing, and he almost looked predatory; you grew wetter at the sight of his chest heaving, his cock protruding from his chiseled body as he slowly moved towards you. “You’re gorgeous, baby…” He smirked and you wanted to die. He looked like he was about to eat you, and when he slowly came to a standstill in front of your body, his eyes trained on yours, you were a quivering mess. “Do you always wear this to the office, kitten?” he asked, pulling your garter with a thick finger, letting it snap back against your skin. You moaned at the slight sting of it, arching your back and grabbing the desk with a deathly grip.   “Oh, you like that?” He smirked again and grabbed the garter again, while his lips found your stomach. You gasped as his teeth grazed your skin and the garter slapped down on your thigh again, and fuck, if you weren’t ready for him to destroy you. He growled, a low, rumbling sound that made your thighs quiver. “Does my little kitten like it rough…?” He asked with danger lacing his words, and you whimpered as his fingers grabbed a tight hold on your thigh, digging his calloused pads into your skin. “Shit, yes, sir…” It slipped out and you froze – that be a little too much for the first time – especially in the office, since you called him that plenty of times before. “Oh, baby, you’ve gotten off by calling me sir in the office?” His fingers dipped under your panties and he rested his forehead against yours, a dangerous smirk on his lips. “You’ve thought of letting your boss fuck you until you couldn’t walk, cum dripping down against this…?” His free hand held tightly to your thigh high and you heard it rip; it sent a shockwave of lust through your body. “Such a good, little slut, huh, dreaming of fucking me in my office?” His words were lewd and dripping with intention and it made you moan. His fingers dipped inside of you, two thick fingers slipping easily inside of you. “Oh, you don’t even need my fingers to help you, do you? So fucking ready for me… God, you’re a bad girl, aren’t you?” he grinned and began pumping his fingers. “Fuck, Steve!” You arched your back as he curled his fingers inside of you, hitting every spot inside of you, that made you see stars – you were dripping down on his desk, a few pencils and random shit tumbling to the ground, as he fucked you with his fingers. “No, baby, in here…” He pumped deeply, speeding up. “You don’t call me that, do you?” He kissed you demandingly and you were seeing fucking stars already. “You’re going to call me sir and you’re going to let me fuck you until you can’t walk.” He whispered. “Yes, sir… Holy shit, can I cum please…” You were rolling your hips, trying to meet his fingers to get them deeper, harder, anything. He chuckled and his lips traveled to your neck, biting the soft skin. “Cum for me, kitten.” You exploded around his fingers, wetness dripping down on his hand as you rode your orgasm out on him. Your eyes blacked out for a second and he chuckled. “Fuck, kitten, look at you… Squirting on my fingers like such a good girl… Tell me what you want.” “Fuck, I want you, please, sir…” You finally managed to stutter, coming down from your high. He was feral, pulling his hand from your panties and tilted his head, looking at them and your soaked core. “Well, that won’t do.” And with that, he ripped then down the middle, letting cool air hit your soaked core; you whined and tried to claw his back to get him closer to you – you were addicted. “You’re fucking eager, aren’t you?” He chuckled, standing between your legs, his head nudging at your folds. “I need you to fuck me. Don’t go easy on me now, sir.” You teased.
He went fucking feral.
He bit down on your skin again, marking you with his teeth and seated himself inside of you in one thrust; you gasped as he stretched you out, and you were sure you were going to split in two. He was gigantic, cock twitching as he bottomed out. “Oh, look at my good, little whore… Taking all of my cock inside of you…” He pulled back and you were about to whine at the loss, when he slammed back inside of you, filling you deeply and completely. He was truly feral. Lips and teeth were everywhere, marking you up on your chest, your shoulders, neck – his fingertips were bruising on you as he rutted deeply inside of you with a power, you didn’t know he possessed. Several things tumbled from the desk, clattering loudly on the floor as he fucked you deeply, the desk scraping against the floor as he fucked you so hard, it began moving with his thrusts. You were clenching around him, sucking him deeper – your want and need for him to fucking ruin you were all you could think about. “Sir, please…” You mumbled, your teeth finding his shoulder and you wrapped your legs around him. “Ruin me…” He lost his cool, whatever he held back with disappearing with your words. He roared and pulled out of you, flipping you to your stomach and bent you over his desk. He was a madman as he pushed his thick cock inside of you again, hitting your cervix and began frantically fucking you.
Your orgasm came like lightening from a clear sky, the scream flowing through your throat – he chuckled darkly behind you, and wrapped his large hand around your throat, squeezing gently. “oh, look at you… Coming on my cock like a good, little slut…” He groaned and angled his hips a little, driving himself deeper in you – you could practically feel him in your stomach. “Look at you stretching over my cock so fucking well, kitten… You’re taking me so well, baby…” He smacked your ass and you whined, almost tumbling into another orgasm; he was furiously fucking you now, his cock twitching and swelling inside of you. “Come on, baby, one more for me….” He squeezed your throat tighter, and your eyelids fluttered closed. “One more for me, baby, you can do it… I need you to cum on my cock again, baby…” His balls slapped against your overly sensitive clit, and you mewled brokenly, your air cut completely off. Your dripping pussy pulled him deeper inside, your walls clenching around him.   “Now, baby…” He let go of your throat and bit down on your shoulder and you came with a scream, that matched the roar that tore through his throat. You milked him, your orgasm intensifying as he came deep inside of you, painting your walls white as you clamped down on his cock. You were rolling your hips, riding out the last ebbs of your orgasm, both of you panting.
He slowly pulled out of you and you could feel his spend leak out from you, catching on your ruined panties before dripping down your legs and to the floor. He hummed contently and let a thick finger slide against a drop, catching it and pushing it back inside of you.
You turned on shaking legs and found his eyes – he was grinning like a kid on Christmas and kissed you hungrily. “Holy shit.” It was all you could say, your chest still heaving. “You don’t say. He pulled his pants on again and tucked himself away – he glanced at your ruined panties and smirked. “You should just leave them here.” He said, tugging at the waistband. “Oh, really?” “Mhm. I think they’d make a great decoration in my drawer.” You kissed him and took them off, placing them in his top drawer with a soft smile.
---------
The weekend passed a little too quickly, and when everyone was back at the office, there was a clear shift in the energy; Bucky and Natasha eyeing both you and Steve as you walked around each other in the office. You had somehow gotten used to the way you moved, and it was like a well-coordinated dance between you, the tension lingering in the empty space between you two. “Do you think they…?” Bucky whispered to Natasha as they watched you two smile and cock an eyebrow at each other, eyes flickering to his office. “No, they…” Natasha shut up as Steve cleared his throat. “Y/N, could you join me in my office? I have a meeting, I’d love for you to sit on.” You smiled. “I’d be more than happy, Sir.” And you followed him to his office, the door locking behind the both of you.
“Oh my god, they did.” Bucky and Natasha said in unison.

4:49 PM
Just 11 more minutes until he can pack his bags up for the weekend.
One new ticket - URGENT
Goddamn it.
Bucky pulled his earphones out in annoyance, just another office idiot who doesn’t know how to print A4 sheets. If the office were to be held hostage and printing out was the only thing that can save them, half of the floor would be dead.
The new name caught his eye, Y/N Y/L. A new hire, it seems like.
Subject: One new ticket - URGENT
Hi, this is Y/N, employee number 0008675309. I’m new here and was told to send a ticket for the equipment request.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Oh, Bucky’s gonna have a great weekend indeed. Out of pure curiosity, he’s already pulled up your employee file. A cute smile to a cute name. His annoyance dispersing already, just by thinking of ways how he can spend time with you.
Hey, Y/N! Bucky types into the text field, Welcome to the company. I’m Bucky and I got assigned to help you get settled. Do you prefer having a desktop or a laptop? I’ve attached a form in this thread, send it to me once you’re done.
Have an awesome weekend too!
As much as he hates sending out chirpy emails, he can’t help but to smile when you immediately send a reply back.
Thanks, Bucky! So sorry for sending in the request super late. Got caught up with the onboarding. Is it okay if I use my laptop until we can get a unit to my place? PC or laptop is fine with me.
Best,
Y/N
Bucky fights off another smile, rubbing his hand over his stubbled cheek as he carefully types out a reply. Unlike other days, he doesn’t mind staying beyond 5 PM today. It’s not like he has other plans for his Friday night.
No worries, Y/N. He’s already loving your name. Happy to help!
Do you have your laptop with you? I can set it up before you go home for the weekend. I can probably send in the ticket to the guys so you can have your work equipment next week.
His deft fingers are dancing over his mechanical keyboard, clacking away while the clock ticks closer to the weekend.
A ping, another reply from you. You’re new, you’re still excited to make friends in the office. If you only knew how stupid they are, though.
Yeah! I have it on me right now. I actually work on the same floor, I can drop it off there right now.
Bucky glances around his office, looking for any reflective surface he can check himself on. He runs his hand through his hair, taming any stubborn locks that fell out of his low bun. His shirt hangs just right against his huge frame, his pants hugging his figure, accentuating his silhouette even more.
Just as the clock ticks 5:00, a soft knock raps against his door, “come in!”
You are cuter, prettier in person. Your perfume hits his nose and he’s floored—metaphorically.
“Mr. Barnes,” you say, your demeanor somewhat meek and shy. Well, of course, you are. Your frame is nothing against the hunk of the man who just stood up to greet you.
“Bucky.” He prompts, smiling. You reciprocated the smile, but you really weren’t sure what to expect. Maybe a scrawny little dude mousing away on a keyboard?
“Bucky, thank you so much for doing this. I know you’d rather get off of work since it’s Friday and all.”
He hums, taking your laptop in his hands. You notice the rings adorning his fingers—complementing his tanned skin tone and—it’s not appropriate to stare at a stranger’s hand.
Heat creeps up your face as he turns to look at the stickers stuck to your laptop, “you know, I like this band.” Bucky says, pointing to an old sticker, he carefully sets down your laptop on his workstation.
“They’re great,” you muse, taking a seat on a plastic chair by the door.
You take a gander around his small office. There was nothing out of the ordinary but the big black server blinking at the back, so why do you feel trapped?
“Sorry about the temp, we have to keep the room cold for the server in the back,” Bucky explains, noticing how your arms are crossed over your chest. The skirt you’re wearing isn’t doing you any better too.
You stammer out an it’s okay with a small smile.
Bucky worked on your computer quietly, using a USB stick to load all the applications you need to set up a temporary work account on your laptop. After a few minutes, he beckoned you to come here. You scoot over to his desk, rolling the chair forward and beside him. Not too close though.
“So, this note has all your generated passwords. Type those into the app when you first log in, then you can change it if you want to.” Bucky explains, the cursor idles on the screen. He tries not to get too close to you, to give you personal space. It’s a professional workplace after all.
“This app,” he drags a window, pulling up an application, “tracks your hours and your keystrokes. It’s company-mandated because managers want to micro-manage their people, I guess.” Bucky shrugs, his disdain showing through his voice. His tone shifting lower than what you’d expected.
“Sorry, I just hate their new protocol,” his face and voice softening as he looks at you, “it’s a total privacy breach if you ask me.”
You’d normally disagree but something tells you that maybe he’s got a point. Your breath hitched in your throat as he leans closer as if to whisper something, “this note right here? It’s a nifty thing, a little script so your computer doesn’t go to sleep when you’re away. It enables and disables your numlock pad so it counts as a keystroke.”
A smirk finds its place on your face, “well, that’s…something, isn’t it?”
Never in your life would you find yourself flirting with a co-worker but there’s something about Bucky that made you excited. Interested. Intrigued.
Bucky nods, rolling his chair away to fetch a pad of sticky notes. “Another thing from your friendly neighborhood IT guy,” he peels off a leaf and sticks it on your laptop’s built-in camera, “keep your cam covered.”
You give him a chuckle and a playful salute, “yes, sir.”
Bucky’s a modern man. He sees a pretty girl and he gets giddy. He talks to a pretty girl and he gets flustered. But you—you make him feel more than giddy and flustered. There was something familiar about you, and your eyes. Has he seen you before? Met you, even? No, that’s impossible—if he had met you before, he’d surely remember you.
It was 5:34 PM when he gave you your laptop back and sent in an urgent request for your equipment. While taking down the elevator to the lobby, Bucky gave you a few tips on how to ‘survive’ working in the office. According to him, as far as you go in on time and kept your head above the rumors, you’d do fine.
He asked about your first week and he told you about this joint near the building that serves the best burgers and fries.
You’ve got a good feeling that you just made your first friend.
The sun was already setting down when you pulled into your apartment’s parking lot. At the very last minute, you turned into a drive-through and got some food on the go. The side trip took out 10 minutes of your time but at least you dodged the awful traffic that was building up by the highway.
Along with your laptop bag and your food, you trudge up to your third-floor apartment. It wasn’t what you wanted—the windows faced the street, the screen door doesn’t lock all the way—but it’s the one you got. As long as it’s got four walls and a roof, right?
You slip out of your work clothes and into some comfy jammies after a rewarding shower; the sooner you can get your food heat up, the sooner you can eat, and drink and then go to sleep.
So while waiting for the microwave to beep, you pry open your laptop. You told Bucky not to shut it down after he worked on it as to not lose your work on another profile, which he understood.
The work account he set up greeted you, along with the bright pink sticky note he stuck to your webcam. That wasn’t real, was it? All those cautionary tales of hackers using webcams to peep on you. Maybe he’s just trying to scare you, like some kind of initiation. Without a second thought, you took off the sticky note. It was kinda annoying anyway.
Clicking the Log Out Work button, your personal account popped into the frame. Your opened apps and documents displaying themselves for you to use. You pulled up Spotify and clicked on the first playlist you saw—which happened to be your intimate playlist.
Sure, the Pavlov reaction is real because halfway through the first song, you already found yourself getting all hot and bothered. This one’s your favorite song too.
You groan in annoyance, your food’s no longer a priority.
Picking up the laptop from the table, you walk to your bedroom, not bothering to shut the door. You live alone, it’s fine. You put the laptop on its loudest setting, setting it on your desk and you plopped down on your bed, the pillows and the comforter pooling on one side.
Your room is illuminated by a streak of light from the street. Your curtains flowing softly with the breeze that just came in.
Glancing at your laptop, you remembered Bucky. How his office smelled when you first walked in. How he stood tall when he greeted you. How he smiled. Those goddamn rings of his.
Before you caught yourself thinking rationally, your fingers are already splayed even over your thighs, caressing the soft flesh of your legs.
Bucky’s smirk and his cologne finding purchase in your fogged brain. Thoughts of him pulling you aside into his office to fool around—voices above hushed whispers as your skin erupts in goosebumps, the chilled air of his office finding its way up to your spine.
Oh, fuck it.
You undress fast, flinging your shirt over your head, dropping it somewhere below the bed. The air in your room making your nipples hard and erect as you pinch them. You breathe out a sigh, the heat of the moment creeping up your torso.
The material of your panties dampening as you imagine yourself bent over his desk, your skirt bunched over your hips as he laps your sopping cunt. Bucky’s tongue exploring your folds up and over until your pussy’s a quivering mess of drool and spit.
Your fingers slip past the band of your underwear. Even you surprised yourself by how wet you are.
God, you met him once and he’s already inching his way into your mind.
But who could blame you? You’ve been all over his Facebook profile when you learned his name via the office’s organizational chart. The first time you saw him, walking around the office with a laptop in his hands, you already knew you wanted to at least formally meet him. A scroll on his page, you found a band that you could tolerate listening to. (They’re okay, just not your taste in music.)
A plan came to mind when your department head told the team that you can work from home from time to time—only if you agreed to use a work laptop, a company-owned one. Your manager advised you to put in the request as soon as you can, for you to secure a unit before the on-hand supplies dwindle.
Deliberately sending in the request late—way, way later—than what your manager told you just so you could pull up the ‘new hire’ card and act dumb.
And it looked like he bought it too.
The image of him fucking you quiet while he grabs you from behind played inside your mind like a memory—a vision. Of how his thick cock would fill you up until your pussy is clenching around him. Would he pinch your throbbing clit, making you squirm and cream around him?
Your fingers are compared nothing to his, that’s for sure. But it does the work for now.
A breathy moan comes out of your mouth as you play with your clit, your cunt dripping down wetness as you continue to fondle your tits.
His hands would make a great addition to your chokers.
Your toes curl and your breath quickens, the coil in the pit of your stomach tightening—white-hot heat creeping up your limbs.
Oh, fuck, Bucky!
His ears perked up as he heard you moaning his name.
Bucky was busy watching you enjoy yourself when he got caught in the moment and decided to enjoy himself too.
He was barely keeping himself behaved when you first walked into the floor wearing a button-up and slacks that accentuated your backside. Bucky wished he was the one who gave you the tour and know your name for the first time, but that was impossible—he was in the IT department.
So when he got the news that new hires will be given the chance to work from home, he hoped that he gets to be the one to help you set up.
He was losing hope by the time he got your request, he thought that you opt not to work at home but then there you were, sending him an apologetic email on a late Friday afternoon.
Of course, he happily obliged. He even set up himself a little virtual camp in the background of your computer just so he can continue spending time with you.
Just thinking about you is already making him hard again. Bucky already came in hot spurts of white as he watched you desperately undress earlier. What can he say—he was waiting for you to show your tits already. As such, he correctly guessed that you’d be annoyed with the glaringly bright sticky note he used to ‘cover’ your webcam with.
But seeing you fingerfuck yourself all alone just wasn’t enough for him, he has to have you all by yourself.

Masterlist
Your life always felt incomplete, like something was missing, but you could never put your finger on what the thing was. You had a modest apartment, a positive relationship with your family and a job with co-workers you absolutely adored. So what left did you have yet to find? Every having romantic relationships in the past left you feeling that way still, a void that could only be filled by a specific something, without knowing what it was. It was infuriating, finally feeling happy with your life but still, there was a piece of you missing, a bit that felt empty. But maybe you would find that something was nearer than you thought, and maybe that something was a someone.
The day started off as normal, getting up, making breakfast then heading out to start the day at your job in intelligence. Pulling into the car park you noticed Jay beside you, sitting In his car, reading something on his phone. Looking up as you got out of your car, he smiled, proceeding to also get out of his vehicle, greeting you just like he did each day. You walked into the district together and to the upstairs intelligence unit, talking about some recent gossip while having the same playful conversation, laughing with huge smiles on your faces. Once you had reached the unit’s floor, you both headed to the coffee machine, needing your caffeine fix before you started. Noticing that others already seemed to be deep in work, you closed the door behind you, hoping to keep as much noise in as possible. Drinking your coffee, you continued talking to Jay, putting off work for as long as possible and wanting to know anything new that could get from the man. Any time you conversed with him, it always had an unconsciously flirty undertone, not because you liked him that way, but because it was in both of your natures, not being able to turn it off specifically for each other. After a while, you still hadn't noticed that the coffee had been drunk already, the time having flown by, neither of you realising you should have started working ten minutes ago.
Unaware to you, Voight was in his office, working on some files from a case that had been passed down to him from people higher up, stress levels increasing with each sentence he read. The sound of yours and Jay’s conversation breached the walls, seeping into his office, making him angrier than he already was. ‘Why did you have to flirt with Jay all the time, was he not good enough for you?’ He thought to himself, the attraction he had for you clouding his mind. Clenching his jaw, he went back to reading his document, knowing when he thought about you too much it bought out his emotions, and that’s not what he needed right now. But he couldn’t help it when he heard your laugh, knowing it wasn’t caused by him, but instead Jay. That man was a damn good detective but also a bloody good flirt, and in Hank’s eyes that made him a threat. He wanted you badly, having liked you since you’d first joined the unit, although Jay was not the only thing in the way. The biggest problem was himself. He was so insecure, thinking that if he did eventually have the courage to ask you out, you would say no. It was just you were so much younger than him, and much better looking and just all these other things that made him think you were better suited to someone like Jay. However, that still didn’t stop him from getting angry when Jay was buttering you up. Suddenly, he stood up, not being able to stand hearing you and Jay in the room next door anymore. Swinging the break room door open, he stood in the doorway, a stern expression on his face. As soon as the door had open, you and Jay had turned towards the intrusion. Noticing it was just Voight, you both relaxed, thinking he was going to idly chat with two of his favourite detectives.
“Hey Sarg, there is some coffee leftover if you want some,” Jay started, not thinking anything of Hank’s expression, considering he usually had a scowl on. This set the flames alight as the detective completely overlooked the anger he held in his eyes.
“Both of you should be working by now! You’re ten minutes late to start and I don’t appreciate you spending that time In here having fun and joking when you both know damn well there is a case you could be helping to solve,” he shouted, not only startling you and Jay, but also your fellow detections who had looked up from where they were working away quietly.
“Sorry Voight, guess we didn’t realise that time had gone past so fast,” Jay tried to rationalise, not understanding why Voight was getting so aggravated for something that would usually just result in a slap on the wrist.
“Get to work, both of you. Plus you both know the rules about in house dating, so sort out whatever this is out immediately.” And before either of you could tell him otherwise, he had stomped back to his office, slamming the door shut in the process. Looking at Jay, you gave him a confused look, trying to figure out why your boss had come up with these conclusions as you returned to your desk.
Throughout the day, you noticed multiple strange things happening. Firstly, Jay refused to look at you at all, looking at the wall or ground anytime you would address the room or would look away as quickly as possible if you accidentally made eye contact. It was abnormal, to say the least, considering you at Jay were usually tied at the hip, spending a lot of time together, both inside and outside of work. It had started even before Voight had split you up and assigned everyone in the unit new partners. Maybe you had subconsciously annoyed him? That you didn’t know but you tried your best throughout the day to get him to even acknowledge you, but each time failing completely. The second strange thing was the looks you were getting from both Hank and Alvin as well as the looks they were giving each other. Anytime you would look up from your work, you would spot one of them staring intently at you, then quickly retreating to look at each other. The ones from Olinsky seemed to be those of intrigue as if they were trying to gauge your reaction. But the ones from Voight seemed different. How it was different you couldn’t really pinpoint, but it seemed to be more out of fondness and concern, but you couldn’t really be sure, barely seeing it before he looked away. God, what was it with all these men today? One not wanting to look at you at all, the others wanting to look at you all the time it seemed. Eventually, you and your new partner Olinsky were sent out to talk to some woman. Wanting to know if she was aware of the illegal activity her boyfriend was running. After receiving some useful information, you both got back in the car, settling in for the short car ride ahead. A couple of minutes into the drive you turned to him, adamant about getting answers on why these men had been unnecessarily watching you all day.
“Why do you and Voight keep looking at me?” You ask abruptly, wanting to catch him off guard so he would answer your damn question.
“You should speak to Voight in his office after shift.” He replied, the car falling back into silence for the rest of the journey.
The statement played on your mind for the rest of the day, but finally, you would get some answers as the shift came to a close. Waiting for everyone else to leave, you wrote your statement longhand, knowing it would eat more time up. As the last person left the room, you got up, walking into your boss' office, closing the door behind you. He looked at you as you entered, holding an undistinguishable expression on his face, despite the nervous disposition he held inside.
"Detective Y/LN, what can I do for you," he asked, looking down at his papers as if he didn't care, although his brain was screaming at him to do something!
"You keep looking at me." You bluntly stated, wanting to pull him out of his comfort zone and get the answers Olinsky wouldn't give you.
"You are my agent arent you? Therefore I am entitled to look at you." Gazing up at you, he stared into your pretty eyes, resisting the urge to just get up and kiss you.
"B-but, this is different. You keep glancing at me as if you have some sort of adoration for me," thinking he was going to look up and find a disgusted expression, he was surprised as he found nothing but a small smile upon your face.
"Maybe I do, but that doesn't matter though does it? Considering you are seeing Detective Halstead." Confusion, once again fell on your features, still not understanding why he thought this madness, you are Jay were merely just friends.
"Me and Jay? We're just- Wait what did you say? Y-you, feel for me?" The confused look on your face deepened, never thinking this would happen. You weren't unhappy by any means, thinking very fondly of the handsome Sergeant, but he was your boss so why would he go for someone like you when he could have Burgess or even Platt! Rounding his desk, he walked towards you, stopping at a comfortable distance, not too far, not too close.
"Do you deem that as a bad thing?" Stumbling on your words, you managed to mutter a 'no', as you looked back into his eyes, finding a warmness there that started filling that void inside you. Not thinking, you flung your arms around his neck, hugging him tightly, placing your head in the crook of his neck as you inhaled his scent. Maybe he was that missing piece?
"Jay and I are just friends and will always just be friends Hank," you told him, removing an arm from his neck to softly stroke his cheek. He gradually tightened his arms around your waist as you reassured him of the matter.
"So you would mind me doing this?" He asked, leaning down to capture your lips in a searing kiss, full of passion, portraying all the things he'd ever want to say to you.
Just as his wish had come true, yours had too, as that missing piece of you started to make its way back to you.

“Game On” Riley Poole x Reader
(A/N: SURPRISE! A prequel to the Riley Poole x Reader Series! It’s a surprise for me too. Welcome to Ben Gates’ circle of friends prior to going to the Arctic Circle to find The Charlotte. This can be read without having read the series that goes through the movie National Treasure. Written for @girl-next-door-writes Bingo challenge! Bingo Card: Mutual Pining Warnings: Poker game. Word Count: 2,472 words)
Strategy. Confidence. Restraint. Three words perfectly fit the poker game on Ben’s dining table. Ever since your best friend had met Ian Howe, a man who believed in the Templar treasure and had pockets of money, the group of you had played poker on weekends. Not every weekend of course. There were only so many rounds of bets you were willing to have. Even if this time you brought cookies for a snack.
Although in truth, you had been playing more for a few months and sitting through more games than otherwise willing. Why? An incredibly intelligent, funny, and handsome man who was officially a part of Ben’s circle of friends.
Riley Poole. Thank the Universe that you helped Ben with his computer, you thought as you stole a glance to your right. Didn’t think I’d be having this much fun.
Sitting in your best friends’ apartment was a greater comfort than Ian’s home. Sure, you’d known the man for more than a year, but Ben had been your friend since you were in school. Around a decade of friendship meant you knew him. You knew him well.
“Ben,” you said calmly.
“Hmm?”
“You’re bluffing again.”
Ben’s eyebrows raised a fraction before speaking. “I fold.”
In only a moment, Ian chuckled.
“You might not be the best player,” Ian told you. “But you can read Ben like a book.” His chuckling doubled as Ben made a face.
“Maybe we should return (Y/N)’s library card.” Ben suggested with a smirk.
You scrunched up your face in disapproval.
“Yeah, but they can still buy books and stay in a library to read them.” Riley piped in.
You sent Riley a smile and pushed a box of crackers closer to him.
“Alright,” Ian spoke up. “Can either of you beat a Four of a Kind? Riley?”
Biting into a cracker, Riley shook his head and laid his cards down. “I fold.”
“(Y/N)?”
“No,” you grumbled. “I fold.” Reluctantly, you set your cards down.
He’s gonna start prancing his way out by the time we’re done.
Shoulders back and a smug grin on his face, Ian revealed his cards. A three, a nine, a queen, and a king.
“What?” Riley exclaimed.
You dropped your forehead to the table.
Not again.
“They’re not even the same suit. You lied.”
“I win again.” Ian stated as the poker chips could be heard being pulled to his side of the table.
“Next time we’re playing Mario Party,” you groaned as you picked your head up off of the table.
“I am not playing that.”
“Afraid you’ll lose?” You countered.
“No. I simply don’t want to play.”
You made a short sound of acknowledgement in your throat.
“You have a Nintendo 64?” Riley asked as everyone tossed their cards to the middle so that Ben could take his turn to shuffle and deal.
“Yeah.”
“I didn’t know you had one. Why didn’t you say anything?”
“You never asked.”
“How was I suppose to know to ask if you had one?”
“Conversation?”
“Save the bickering for the game, shall we?” Ian interrupted without glancing up.
You gave the man a pointed look.
It was times like those that you weren’t entirely sure if he was playing along or actually annoyed. There were times when you honestly could not tell.
Worse case scenario, he’s always annoyed with me and Riley talking. He’s usually not this way when it’s just me and Ben.
Having finished shuffling the deck, Ben dealt the cards out to each of you.
“As a head’s up, this is my last game.” You said after checking the time.
“You’re not working overtime again, are you?” Ben asked.
“No.”
“(Y/N)…”
“I have to double check an e-mail and double check a few things. Respond to a few more e-mails. Stuff.”
“That’s working.” Riley said.
“I know. I know.”
“At least you’re making sure everything is done properly. Some times that’s hard to find in some people.” Ian added.
“Thank you.” You reached for a cookie and—
Crunch
You peered over to your right and saw Riley’s eyebrows knitted together as he ate another cracker. His eyes were trained just above his cards.
That was a little louder than normal, you thought as you ate the cookie. Mentally shrugging, you checked out your cards. Oh, okay. Not bad so far. Hmm.
“Any chance next time we could play Twenty-One?” You asked.
“Blackjack?” Riley nabbed a cookie.
“Yeah. Though if Ben says ‘no’ he indirectly admits his many defeats.”
“Hey. That’s a game of chance.” Ben pointed a finger at you.
“And strategy.” You added.
“It is older than Poker.” Ian said as he waited for Ben to add more cards to the table.
Ben eyed his own cards. “You know,” he started. “Playing cards were actually invented before 1000AD by the Chinese. The cards didn’t have numbers…”
Turning your head to the right, you caught Riley’s eyes. You gave each other knowing looks as Ben continued giving facts. That could mean two things: Ben was confident or he had a pretty good hand of cards. If Ian had picked up on that through the many games, neither you nor Riley knew. However, you were willing to play more logically to win.
Game on, Ben.
Riley slid the box of crackers closer to you. The box was moved just enough that when you leaned back, Riley subtly tilted his cards.
You had a better cards. You took two crackers and gave one to Riley. He returned his sights back to the center of the table with a nod.
Now to figure out Ian and Ben. Can’t always let one of them win.
“Riley.” Ben said.
“Hm? What?”
“Your turn.”
“Oh, right.”
You reached for more crackers to munch on as the four of you continued playing. Looking up for only a second, you saw Ben smiling and his smile only widened when he caught your eye. You raised an eyebrow in question. He glanced over to Riley then back at you. Acting on immediate reaction, you tossed a cracker at your best friend’s chest. Unfortunately he didn’t drop any of his cards so that you could see them.
Stop it, you thought. Too bad we don’t have telepathy. Then again, that could backfire with comments, but we could team up during poker. Also would save money on the phone bill. Hmph.
With more cards in your hands, your chances of winning were dwindling. It was not a big deal. But you really wanted to win.
Darn it.
“(Y/N), I hope you’re better at bluffing than giving instructions over e-mail.” Riley said, catching you off guard.
“Wha—Hey.” You pulled your cards closer to yourself. “It’s not my fault they don’t know what the icons mean.”
“You should have explained that first.”
“I’m not Internet one oh one.”
Ian rolled his eyes. “Can we get back to the game?”
Hiding your smile as you ducked your head, you muttered, “We already went over this.”
“Bluff.” Riley murmured.
Ben cleared his throat and said, “Your turn, Riley.”
That e-mail was likely not going to be easily forgotten. Then again, it did remind you that a specific e-mail, from the same co-worker, had finally been sent to you earlier in the day.
Could have had it done last week.
A couple of days ago, you had given Riley a personal museum tour and treated him to lunch in exchange for helping you type up an e-mail explaining how to send a document as an attachment to a co-worker. It wasn’t that you didn’t know how to send the e-mail. It was that you didn’t know how to explain it for the third time. Or rather how to explain it in a way that the co-worker would understand the instructions given.
The game went on for another ten minutes until Ian and Riley were at a showdown. Ben and yourself had folded, knowing you were both beaten.
“Alright, show your hand.” Ian said confidently.
Both men turned their cards face up. A Three of a Kind versus a Flush. Riley won the game.
“Aaaay!” You patted Riley’s arm repeatedly for more than a moment.
Riley shuffled a bit in his seat before sitting a little taller.
“Good game.” Ian pushed his cards away.
“Good job, Riley.” Ben congratulated his friend.
Pulling the chips to his side, Riley grinned. Victory was sweet at times.
“Hey, sorry to cut this short, but I have to get going.” You stood from your seat and grabbed your plastic container of cookies to seal them.
Can snack on the cookies later, you thought as you smoothly placed one in front of Riley. He won. Prize given.
You pushed in your chair.
“I-uh better go too,” Riley said. “I don’t know how traffic is going to be. It’s dark.”
“Okay, Riley,” Ben replied. “Don’t forget your jacket.”
“Thanks.”
You walked passed Ian, saying, “Any chance you can teach Ben to bluff?”
“Not something you can teach.” Ian answered as he gathered up the cards.
“I don’t need to bluff to win.” Ben added in as he lead you and Riley to the door. Always the nice host.
“Bye Ian,” you waved.
“I’ll see you two later.” Riley said.
“Drive safely.” Ben patted his friend on the shoulder.
“Don’t stay up too late, Ben,” you teased as you walked out the door.
“Bye, (Y/N).” He laughed. Behind you, Ben had shut the door as Riley followed you out.
Two steps away from the door and Riley walked up beside you.
“I can’t believe how many times Ian bluffed.” Riley said. “He must have taken almost half of the chips.”
“I’d say I’m surprised, but I’m not.”
He nodded. Many thoughts running through his head no doubt.
“You didn’t do so bad today,” you added.
“I could have been better. I just can’t tell when Ian’s lying or confident or confident in his lying.”
“There’s little difference.” You murmured as you two reached your apartment’s door. Stopping for a moment, you considered your next words.
Eh. Do it.
“Remember that e-mail you helped me with?”
“Yeah.”
“Would you like to see what they e-mailed me back?”
“How bad is it?” His shoulders slumped.
“What makes you think it’s bad?”
“Because you’re asking if I want to see it and you’re already laughing.”
Oh, I guess I am. You thought as your grin widened.
“You’re right. It’s pretty bad. In a really weird way.”
“Great,” he said sarcastically. A small smile edged its way onto his face. “Let me see it.”
Turning, you quickly grabbed your key and unlocked the front door. Once you pushed it open, you let Riley inside.
“Just give me a second to grab my computer.” You said.
Front door shut and cookies placed on a flat surface, you fast-walked to another room to grab your laptop.
It was not the first time Riley had been in your apartment. It was not even the only time he had been in your home without Ben present. As it turned out, you had made friends with Riley almost as fast as Ben did. There was something that just clicked. Similar interests, shared knowledge, and good old companionship that was refreshing.
Walking out of your room, you spotted Riley sitting on your couch with his glasses on. Your laptop was already up and loading your e-mails.
“Ready?” You asked.
“They didn’t put any attachments, did they?” Riley watched as you placed the computer on the coffee table.
“You’ll have to see.” You sat beside him.
A couple of clicks and you had opened the message from your inbox.
“Hey. There’s actual attachments,” Riley observed as he scrolled to the bottom of the e-mail. “Uh. Um. Were they only suppose to send you the documents?”
“Yeah.” You nodded and bit back a grin. “Click on that one.”
He clicked on the one that had caught his eye.
A large picture of a large cat lounging on an armchair filled up a part of the screen.
“Holy Lord.” Riley looked to you. “Please tell me not all of these are cats.”
“Just two cats.”
Riley groaned.
“I got the other ones they needed to send. Thankfully. I’ve been needing these possible layouts for the next exhibition for a week now.”
“We’re going to have to teach them how to remove an attachment before sending an e-mail now.”
It was your time to groan.
“You don’t want them sending Lord knows what else next time, do you?”
“No.” You sighed. “But…that means I have to mention the cats.”
The moment Riley made eye contact with you, you both started bursted out laughing.
Out of all things to send you, they sent you pictures of cats. Perhaps you should be thankful it was not anything else. Who knew at that point? The question at hand was how to word your next e-mail? It was suppose to be a follow-up message about which layout of the museum space was better not another how-to.
“I’m getting paid to say, ‘delete your cat photos…from the e-mail’.” You wheezed. Trying to breath between laughing and speaking was challenging.
“Maybe….maybe send two e-mails?” Riley’s grin was still present. “One for work and one for clicking the small ‘x’.”
“Yeah, but at this point you should be charging them for tech support.”
“Put that in your next e-mail.”
You bumped his arm with your own.
“Just saying.”
“If they ask for more help I’ll let them know. How’s that?”
“I’ll get the documents ready.”
You covered your mouth as loud laugh escaped you.
Oh goodness. I hope he’ll do it anyway.
Smile only partially fading, Riley gestured to the laptop. “Let me know if their lack of technology skills makes your instruction skills disappear again. But not on your day off.” He removed his glasses and stood up.
You followed suit and walked him to the door.
“You really shouldn’t put in more hours than they’re paying you.”
“I want the new exhibition to be perfect.” You added as you leaned against the opened door. “But you’re right.”
“Can’t work for nothing. Especially when you’re suddenly working free tech support.” He stood out in the hallway.
“Hey,” you said. “Thanks for hanging out today. It was really fun.”
A smile returned to his lips. “I had fun too.”
“Drive safely, alright?”
“I will. See you later.”
“See yah, Riley.” You waved before finally shutting the door. With a lopsided grin, you locked the door and skipped over towards the cookies. Perhaps your winnings will be more than chips won in a poker game some day. Maybe something a little more meaningful.

(requested by calligomiles)
Ansel walked out of the Doctor’s office, nervous but optimistic. He- no, hang on, they literally just filled out the paperwork together - SHE was now recognized in official documentation and in PRTS as a female, although until the rest of the procedures were successful (which, knowing her co-workers, they would be) her biology and psychology weren’t entirely in agreement on that. Thanks to the support of the rest of Reserve Squad 4, however, the Cautus knew she could be confident in herself. This was right...even if she wasn’t sure what she’d tell her uncle the next time they saw each other. After all, he’d always said she was “the son he’d never had...”
With that mix of hope and trepidation weighing on hi- her, it’s no surprise that she accidentally walked smack into Rosa coming the other way down the hall to the Doctor’s office. “Ah! O-oh, Miss Rosa. My apologies.”
“Oh, I’m fine, Ansel.” The Ursus picked herself up before helping her Cautus collider. “Congratulations are in order, I hope?”
“Congratulations?” The Medic held onto her hand after she’d stood up.
Natalya smiled. “Logistics just got the email to make some changes to your paperwork going forward.”
“Oh, yes.” Ansel blushed. “It’s still a little hard to believe everyone’s okay with it, but everything’s gone well so far. I’m a little nervous about explaining things to my uncle, though.”
“Let me know if you want any help with that. I had to explain to my parents, too.”
The Cautus blinked. “You did? I never would have guessed.”
“I was fortunate they decided my mental health was worth the price.” She immediately regretted reminding herself of her family, but it was for a good cause. “Anyway, here - my phone number. If you need me, for anything at all, and I’m not in the Logistics office, send a message or call me.”
“Thank you, Miss Rosa. Were you going to see the Doctor?” She pulled out her cell phone to add the Ursus to her contacts on the spot.
The Sniper nodded. “I’m delivering a few reports and checking on the rest of the USSGG before I finish my lunch break.”
“Ah, then I won’t keep you.” The Medic put her phone away. “Enjoy the rest of your day, Miss Rosa.”
“You as well, Miss Ansel.” Both smiling, and the Cautus blushing, they went their separate ways.
Ansel spent the next few days (during her breaks) thinking about the inevitable conversation with her uncle, even though the only way that talk would happen was of her own initiative...at least, that’s what she thought until her uncle sent her a text: ‘Hey champ, how’s everything?’
“...*beep beep beep* *whrrrrrr*...Hello?” Natalya yawned on the other side of the line. “I hadn’t considered that you work the night shift.”
“My uncle texted me.”
A brief silence. “Give me five minutes and we can talk in my room.”
“Thank you.” Rosa hung up, leaving the Medic a moment to collect herself before telling Ptilopsis she had to take care of an urgent matter and leaving Medical. ‘I hope I’m not bothering her too much.’
‘I hope she doesn’t mind the mess,’ Natalya thought to herself as she tried to flatten out some of the wrinkles in her pajamas. Having done the best she could, the Ursus put on a kettle for tea and waited for the Cautus to arrive.
Just before the water’d finished boiling, there was a knock on the door. Rosa let her guest in before immediately going for teacups. “I put the kettle on for you, since I think a cup of tea could do us both some good. Any preference?”
“Low caffeine, please.” Ansel halfway collapsed into one of the three dining room table chairs available to her. “I’m sorry to wake you up this late, but I saw the message come in and I just...”
“You’ll never be a bother to me, Ansel, regardless of when your hour of need comes about. Honey?”
The Medic nodded. “Yes, thank- you have honey?”
“My physician prescribed it to me with a firmly regulated dosage, fret not.” She put a single drop in her own tea nonetheless, along with two cubes of sugar, before bringing both cups to the table. “Let me know if there’s anything else I can get you as you think of it.”
“Thank you, Rosa.” No need for the ‘miss’es at this point.
The Ursus took that informality one step further as she blew on her piping-hot drink. “You can call me Natalya, or Nat, or some variation if you like. If you don’t mind me cutting directly to business, you said your uncle texted you?”
“He did.” The Cautus pulled out her phone, opened the message, and set it on the table between them. “It’s a simple enough greeting, but him saying ‘Champ’ brought all the fear back, and I want to tell him. I want him to be happy for me, but...”
“You’re worried he won’t be.” A more than relatable experience for Rosa - she could practically feel the tightness in her chest from her own announcement.
She nodded, sighing as she inhaled some soothing tea-steam. “This does help. Yes, that’s exactly what worries me. I moved in with him originally because my father sent me to him, and since he didn’t have any kids of his own, I was the son he’d never had - or have, in fact. I have a few cousins on his side, but they’re also girls, just, you know.”
“I can see why that would complicate things for you.” The Sniper took a moment to consider her words. “Do you know what you want to say, as in the particular words?”
“I have a message drafted already. More than anything, I guess I just needed to not do this alone.”
Her words hung in the air for a moment as Natalya wiped a stray water droplet from her face. The steam must have precipitated on her face. “I can sit closer, if that would help?”
“...Yes, please.” They both stood up at the same time, hands on the backs of their chairs to move to where the other was seated. Ansel chuckled, and Rosa followed suit. “We’ll meet in the middle, then.”
“If you’d rather, there’s also the couch.” The Ursus pointed over to a loveseat across the apartment flanked by side tables.
The Medic glanced at her cup. “Can I take my tea with me?”
“I wouldn’t dream of disallowing it.” She walked her guest to the more comfortable seat, both with tea in hand, and set hers on the closer side table before settling down. “Whenever you’re ready.”
“Mmhmm.” The Cautus took a deep breath, opened her phone...closed it, opened it again, another deep breath, and started typing.
As ‘I’m doing quite well. There is something I need to tell you...’ made its way across the world through the internet, Natalya gently set a hand on Ansel’s shoulder. “You’re doing great.”
“Thanks.” She took another deep breath, noticeably shaking. “Do you think-” *DING!*
“Go ahead.”
The Cautus blinked. “Alright...Here goes everything.” Notes tab, copy, paste, send.
“Now all that’s left is-” *DING!* “Ah. That was quick.”
“Quick, but- oh! He...he must’ve had his message prewritten, too. Did he expect this?...Uh-huh...Uh-huh...Ohhh, really? I had no idea. Wow.” Ansel took a minute or two to type a response before putting her phone away and sighing contentedly.
Rosa, who hadn’t been reading over her shoulder, waited patiently for a moment before asking, “What did he say?”
“Oh, right.” She blushed, invisible in the dim light cast from the dining room. “He said that my oldest cousin, his eldest daughter, recently started hormonal therapy.”
“What a coincidence,” Natalya observed with a smile.
That made the Medic blush harder. “He asked me to keep him posted, and to send Reisen a message, too, because he misses me. I...wow.”
“That’s wonderful.” The Sniper was restraining herself - she’d have shouted from sympathetic joy if it wasn’t so late at night. “I’m glad everything worked out.”
“Me, too.”
Another moment of silence, as the Cautus basked in her victory and the Ursus basked in the radiated satisfaction before eventually taking her hand off Ansel’s shoulder. “Anything you want to do right now?”
“I...Oh, right. It’s one in the morning.” She sighed. “You probably want to go back to bed, I’m guessing?”
“If you need to go, or if-” Rosa caught herself before finishing that thought.
A bit late, though, as Ansel cocked her head. “Or if?”
“No, just that. Now’s not even a remotely appropriate time for that other question.” Natalya’s face now matched the Medic’s, who now realized the incomplete thought in its entirety for herself.
“N-not that I would refuse on principle,” the Cautus managed after some internal deliberation, “but I um...It’s a little unexpected.”
The Sniper grabbed a pillow and buried her face in it. “I should go back to bed. Clearly I left my dignity with my sheets.”
“If that’s what you’d prefer, then I’ll head back to Medical, but I told them not to expect me.”
“You did?” Rosa dropped the pillow and cleared her throat. “Well, then, perhaps, if you’d like, we could maybe, potentially...cuddle?” Why did that word sound so childish right now?
Regardless, it was just about the best one she could’ve chosen. “I would like that.”
“Oh thank goodness.” Natalya lurched to her feet, reaching for Ansel’s hand as she did and finding it. “I’m sorry for being so immodest about this, truly it’s an unenviable position I just sort of thrust you into- not that that’s what I was thinking of when I asked, of course, I just, I, er...perhaps the honey was a mistake after all.”
“Don’t worry about it. I’m tired, too.” The Cautus meant it, but there was a smile on her face as she said it that proved that wasn’t the entire story.
Frankly, Rosa was adorable when she was flustered.

Bet On It Part 2 (Draco x Reader)
Author’s Note: And it’s finally up! This is a part two to Bet On It, but it honestly only kinda mentions it once near the end so it can also be read stand alone. I hope this doesn’t seem rushed, but I had an idea and ran with it so I hope all of you like it as much as Bet On It. As always, feedback is appreciated and I can’t wait to continue writing! Requests are open, have a great day <3
Summary: You’ve been doing fine with your life so far. Draco’s your fiancé and you’re good at your job. But what happens when there’s a transfer into your division at the ministry that wants to shake things up?
Bet On It Part 2
Draco Malfoy x Reader
Word Count: 5.2k
Warnings: reg warnings - angst, fluff, a curse word maybe?, etc. // TW!! - unwanted advances & mentions of rape, please don’t read if that will hurt you in any way mentally or otherwise. I’ve included a warning section before the trigger material happens so you can skip over that if you want, or you can just skip this story. I want you guys to stay safe <3
“Draco! Come on, we’re going to be late!” You chastise your fiancé as you grab your wand and coat.
“Darling, you say that as if we can’t just teleport to work. Come on, I’ll apparate us there.” Draco smirks at you, grabbing your waist and pulling you to his chest. You’re about to reach up and give him a sweet kiss when all of the sudden you’re no longer in your apartment. You look around, slightly disoriented, at your new surroundings outside the Ministry of Magic.
You let out a huff and break away from him, wrapping your scarf around your neck that you had been carrying. It’s wintertime, and you are not one keen on freezing to death outside of your work.
“You could have told me,” You mumble, burrowing in your coat and scarf. Draco chuckles.
“Oh, come on. It was kind of funny.” He softly grabs your wrist and pulls you back into him, planting a sweet kiss on your nose. You giggle and pull him back for a real kiss to which he accepts instantly, wrapping his arms around your waist as your arms snake around his neck.
“We should probably go to work,” You whisper, your lips brushing against his. He groans.
“Do we have to?” He grumbles, kissing you again. You laugh
“Yes, Draco, we’re already here. They don’t pay us to kiss all day.” You pull away from him just slightly, looking at him with such adoration that it would take a fool to not see that you’re utterly in love with him.
“We’re lucky they’re letting us stay together, I suppose.” He sighs, releasing you from his grasp.
“We were a previously established couple, Draco. They can’t break us up because we’re not breaking department rules by ‘dating co-workers.’” You roll your eyes, stepping away from him and starting into the building. Draco follows closely behind.
“Whatever you say, darling. I’ve got a meeting this morning but we’ll grab lunch later, okay? I love you.” He gives you a chaste kiss on your cheek before walking swiftly away to his office. You smile to yourself and sit down at your desk.
Yes, Draco is slightly higher-up in the auror business here. It doesn’t bother you, though, because everyone in this office (including Draco) knows you’ve got just as much skill as him, just not the Malfoy name attached to you. Yet, that is. That will be different a few months from now.
“(Y/n), did you hear that someone’s transferring into the office today? They’ll work beside Draco, filling Lawrence’s old position.” Your friend and co-worker, who sits conveniently at the desk beside you, gossips.
“Oh, really? I didn’t think they’d get a transfer for his position, I heard that they were going to promote someone instead.” Your heart sinks a little bit. You were hoping for that promotion so you’d get an office like Draco, and a title that matches. The two of you are an unstoppable duo, and it’s a pity that the department can’t see past your relationship to make their division work as efficiently as possible. Oh, well. You’ll get promoted one day, and you’re determined to work as hard as you must to get there.
“I hear he’s dreamy, though. Too bad we can’t date co-workers,” She sighs next to you, momentarily forgetting about work. You chuckle.
“I’m lucky I don’t have to worry about that rule. I’m not sure I’d be working here anymore if I did.” You smile lightly, looking at the criminal documents before you that you had left to sign. You internally sigh, dreading this part of the job. You just wanted to get back on the field, but unfortunately, there is only one case out right now and it wasn’t assigned to you.
About an hour of paperwork drones on before you hear your name get called.
“(Y/n), may I speak with you?” Draco calls out, and you look up to see him standing in the doorway of his office. You smile and nod, standing up from your desk.
“Ooh, some alone time with the fiancé, hm?” Your friend teases you. You roll your eyes but the smile stays on your face as you push your chair in and step into Draco’s office.
“Yes, Draco?” You hum, leaning your hands on the chair in front of you. He motions for you to close the door behind you and you do so. You grin at him from the door and make your way to him. You wrap your arms around his torso and kiss the underside of his jaw.
“As much as I’d love to just hold you, (Y/n), this is unfortunately work-related.” He sighs, still wrapping his arms around you and setting his head atop yours. You pout below him, letting out a small ‘humph’ of disapproval. He chuckles and you feel the vibration in his chest, letting a smile work its way back on your face at that small triumph.
“What’s the work, then?” You hum, pulling away from his embrace to turn and look at the files in his hands. He sets them on the desk and opens them.
“I was tasked to find this former death-eater and they let me choose my partner this time, surprisingly. There is a small catch, though.” He looks up at you, a small but sympathetic smile on his face.
“What?” You ask.
“I’ll also be on the case,” A new man walks in, about your age, and extends his hand to you, “nice to meet you, I’m Oscar. I just transferred in from the other division.”
You shake his hand apprehensively before he moves to shake Draco’s hand next.
“Nice to meet you, Oscar. This is...our co-worker, Miss (y/l/n). She’s the best in the division and she’ll be joining us on the case today.” Draco introduces you. You internally groan. This must be the transfer that your friend was talking about earlier.
“Pleasure to meet you, Oscar.” You try your best to be polite, giving him a small smile.
“The pleasure’s all mine, Miss (Y/l/n), believe me.” He flashes you a blindingly toothy grin. Draco’s brows furrow for a moment, but it’s gone before you can ask him about it.
“Well, let’s get on with the case. We’ve got to look at all of the evidence in the briefing room first.” Draco leads the two of you down the hall and to the briefing room. You try to ignore how close Oscar seems to be walking next to you, brushing it off as him just being confident.
~+~
A few hours later, you’re officially off work. You smile and stop by Draco’s office, seeing him stressed over a pile of paperwork on his desk. You had caught the death-eater in record time, as he was surprisingly hiding out in the same place as he had always been, so now the process paperwork was on Draco’s plate. You knock on the doorframe softly, causing his head to shoot up.
“Hey, Draco, it’s time to go home. You can worry about the rest of that tomorrow,” You coo, walking over to his desk and laying a hand on his shoulder. His hand comes up and covers yours, squeezing tightly. He smiles and gets up, grabbing his coat from the back of his chair.
“Sounds perfect. I’m dying to get home anyway.” He presses his hand to the small of your back, edging you forward to go first out of the door. You do as you’re told and walk to your desk, gathering your stuff before walking out of the building with Draco. You don’t notice Oscar leering behind the two of you.
~+~
It starts off small at first. Little things that Oscar does for you that make him seem just slightly nicer. Things that you brush off because maybe he’s just a nice guy. Maybe he just cares. There are good men in the world, you’re about to be married to the best, so what if Oscar’s just a good guy? Sure, he picks up your pen when you drop it. He gets you extra paper for your desk when you run out without you having to ask him to. They’re no big deal.
Then things started increasing. He’d start getting you coffee in the mornings, setting it on your desk before you even get to work. He’d ask you to lunch a few times, promising to pay for the meal. You always felt obliged since he is technically your superior, so you thought nothing of it. You usually discussed business at the lunches, anyway. This went on for a few weeks.
What you didn’t see were the hungry glances he’d send your way. He always seemed to be watching you. If he wasn’t watching you, he was talking to you. And while you didn’t seem to notice this, Draco did. And it made him furious.
“(Y/n), what’s going on with you and Oscar?” Draco asks one day when the two of you get home.
“What do you mean, Draco?” You ask, concern filling your gaze that rests upon your soon-to-be husband.
“I mean...he’s into you, or something. Do you not see it? And you… you’re flirting back, aren’t you? Or am I missing something?” He asks, running a hand through his hair. He seems more sad than angry, you note.
You look at him quizzically.
“Draco, I’m not flirting with Oscar. First of all, I’m engaged to you and I love you. Secondly, how daft would I have to be in order to flirt with him right in front of you?” You scoff softly, going to cup his face in your hands. He lets you, lifting his gaze to meet yours as your hands envelop his face.
“But you always say yes to his lunch dates. You’re always so sweet to him. You...you look happy with him.” He frowns, eyes searching your face for any sign of misinformation. You chuckle softly.
“I’m happy with you, Draco. If you could see the way I look at you, there would be no doubt in your mind of where my affections lie. I go to lunch with him occasionally to discuss business, but I can stop that if you’d like. I love you. I’m just trying to be nice to the new guy, I promise you that’s it.” You murmur, stroking your thumb across his cheek. He nods, wrapping his arms around your waist.
“Okay. I love you. I trust you.” He buries his head into the crook of your neck, pulling you flush to him. You smile and rest your head against his chest. There was truly no place you’d rather be than his arms right now. You wish you could convey that so much better to him.
~+~
A couple of weeks later, you’ve tried to abide by your soon-to-be husband’s desires. You no longer go to lunch with Oscar, and you’ve been a little less sweet in your conversations. You know Draco’s not being possessive, he’s just trying to share his feelings. You know he’s struggled with that in his past, so you’re being accommodating. Plus, you’re not the biggest fan of Oscar anyway.
“Hey, (Y/n)!” Speak of the devil.
“Hi, Oscar.” You smile tightly, turning your chair to see Oscar walking to your desk with a coffee mug in hand.
“I got this for you. Your usual.” He sets the mug down on your desk, a wide smile on his face. You grimace slightly but turn it into a small apologetic smile.
“Oscar, I’ve told you that you don’t need to get me coffee in the mornings. It can’t be doing good things for your bank account.” You chuckle slightly forced, drawing the mug to the corner of the desk instead of right by you.
“Oh, don’t worry about it. You can make it up to me some other time.” He laughs. You stop slightly in your tracks for a split second before resuming what you were doing, hoping that you didn’t cause suspicion. You do not want to know the connotations of that phrase.
“Well, I should get back to my paperwork.” You chuckle, brushing off the small innuendo that you’re not sure he meant to make or not. You turn back to your desk.
“Would you like to get dinner sometime? Just the two of us?” He asks suddenly, drawing your attention back to him. You keep yourself from making a face.
“Like...a date?” You choke out, unsure of what else to say.
“Yes, exactly.” He smiles at you.
“I’m sorry, I’m already with someone. Draco’s my fiancé.” You deadpan. You immediately regret apologizing at the beginning of your sentence, you have nothing to be sorry for.
“Oh, my apologies, I had no idea! I’m so sorry, that must have been odd. Forget it ever happened.” He laughs, brushing it off. You smile nervously, knowing you won’t be able to just forget it, but you’re grateful that he at least took the rejection well.
“Well, I should get back to our current case…” You trail off, looking back to your work laying on your desk.
“Oh, about that. I’ve got some information about the case that I need to discuss with you later today. Come to my office after work?” He asks, taking a sip from his own coffee mug. You tense up slightly, but force yourself to relax.
“Of course. To discuss the case, right? Won’t...Mr. Malfoy also need to be present?” You press, not entirely comfortable with the idea of being alone with him after work.
“Oh, yes he’ll be there, too. So I can expect you?” He asks, tracing his finger around the rim of his coffee cup. You force a smile onto your face.
“I’ll be there.” Your smile drops and you turn back to your desk. Oscar seems to not have noticed because he walks back to his office and shuts the door. You roll your shoulders to relax some of the tension in them. You already rejected him, and he took it well, so everything’s fine. Plus, if Draco’s there after work, then nothing can go wrong, right?
~+~
Wrong. It’s time for you to meet with Oscar after work and Draco’s nowhere in sight. You’re sitting at your desk, eyes wildly searching for Draco to walk in with you, but no one is anywhere near. You see Oscar step out of his office and his eyes immediately land on you.
“(Y/n)! What are you waiting for? Come on, Draco said he’s running a tad late. We can chat in here until he’s back.” Oscar waves you over. There are a million alarms ringing in your head, but you stand up and walk over to his office. You don’t feel like you can just say no, as that might look bad to your authorities.
~TW: unwanted advances ahead! Please don’t read if this will trigger you. There will be another cut that shows when the TW ends~
“Hey, Oscar.” You try to stay casual as you sit down in his office. He strides in after you but keeps the door open. That eases your nerves slightly.
“How’ve you been, (Y/n)?” He asks, sitting on his desk in front of you. You scoot the chair back slightly, not liking the close proximity. You pray for Draco to walk in any moment now.
“I’ve been...fine. Thank you for asking.” You uncomfortably shift in your chair, waiting.
“And you’re sure you don’t want to go on that date later?” He asks, a dark chuckle in his voice that sends chills down your spine. Not the good kind.
“No, I’ve already told you that Draco is my fiancé.” You push your chair back, standing up. You’ve had quite enough, and he’s crossed the line now.
“Oh, come on. I was just playing around.” He chuckles, standing up as well.
“I came here under the notion that we would be talking business about the case, Oscar. This is not what is happening.” You state, setting your jaw and clenching your fists.
“Don’t be like that, darling. You know we have to wait until Draco’s here until we can discuss the case. He won’t be here for a minute or two...we can do whatever we want in the meantime.” In a breeze, he’s behind you and holding your upper arms.
“Get off of me.” You sneer, ripping your arms from his grasp and turning around to face him. You step back a few steps to lengthen the space between the two of you.
“Don’t fight it. I know you like me. You’ve said it all along with that pretty little gaze and flirtations of yours. Don’t deny it.” He keeps stepping forward as you keep stepping back until you run into the desk. He traps you against the desk, pinning your legs down and grabbing your shoulders. You whimper, fear filling your body with dread as he stares down at you hungrily. At this moment, you wish you had listened to Draco all those weeks ago and just stopped talking to Oscar altogether.
“Let go of me.” You try weakly as he leans down and stares deeply into your eyes.
“Make me.” He whispers harshly, not letting you get the last word in before he presses his lips to yours roughly. Your eyes widen and you resist, bringing your hands up to punch his chest repeatedly. He grabs your wrists with an iron grip, continuing to move his mouth against yours and work against your will. Tears prick at the corner of your eyes as you evaluate your options. Your wand is in your pocket, but how do you reach it?
“Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t know you would have company--” You hear a voice from the doorway. Oscar breaks the kiss and turns around, seeming shocked. You look around him to see Draco standing there, slightly surprised until his gaze lands on you. Then you see his body language go slack.
“Draco?” You whimper, squeezing out from behind Oscar and running to your fiancé. You throw your arms around his shoulders and sob into his chest, your words coming out broken as you try to explain the situation but fail.
You feel his body stay tense under your touch, causing you to step away and look up at him. He doesn’t even look at you, just stares ahead as his face contorts in anger and hurt.
“Don’t bother coming home tonight, I’m sure you can stay at Oscar’s. Have fun.” He steps out of your grasp, turning on his heel and walking away. You try to reach for him, but Oscar grabs your wrist before you can make it.
“Not so fast, darling. We both know he won’t listen to you right now. Why not stay and enjoy the fun while you can? Besides, you heard it from him yourself. Why don’t you stay at my place tonight?” The devilish grin on Oscar’s face tells you all that you need to know.
“You set this up, didn’t you? You knew he was going to be here slightly later, so you made it look like I was cheating on him! You bastard!” You scream, ripping your wrist from his grasp with newfound adrenaline.
“I may have invited your fiancé for the discussion on the...urgent news of the case, but I accidentally told him the wrong time… it was a shame he walked in on us like that. Oh well.” Oscar tsks.
“You’re sick! Once higher-ups find out about this, you won’t have a job anymore!” You sneer.
“And what are you going to do? Tell on me? Please, I’m in a higher position than you. They won’t listen to a word you say...especially because you’re a woman.” He laughs in your face.
“You’re a monster!”
“No, I hunt monsters. I’m just a man with needs.”
“And I’m feeling the need to kick your ass.”
“As if you could do that. You’re weak, (y/n). I could take you in a heartbeat.” He growls.
“I guess we’ll see about that. Expelliarmus!” You grab the wand out of your coat pocket at the same time as him, but luckily you’re just slightly better at dueling than him.
“Stupefy!” You say, aiming your wand directly at him. He’s hit and down within a second, lying unconscious on the floor. You go over and pick up his wand, giving his ribs an extra good kick to bruise whenever he wakes up.
You take some of the handcuffs from your desk and handcuff Oscar to his own desk, knowing that someone will find him in the morning and you can explain the situation later.
~TW over~
Finally feeling the effects of everything that just happened, you wrap your arms around your torso and sob, curling into yourself. You realize what could have happened to you had you not taken action. Would he have gone so far? What would have happened if Draco didn’t walk in at that time?
Draco.
You find a little resolve left and stand up from your desk, wiping the tears from your eyes as you make your way to the door. You apparate back to your apartment.
You open the door and walk in quietly, seeing him laying on the couch, staring emptily at the ceiling.
“Draco?” You murmur, coming in and shutting the door behind you.
“I told you not to bother.” He mumbles, not even looking at you. Your heart aches.
“I can’t just walk away from this knowing that you’re believing a lie.” You walk toward the couch, seeing him sit up as you approach.
“Excuse me? Believing a lie? I literally walked in on you snogging him--”
“He forced me into it!” You defend yourself.
“You didn’t seem to be stopping him!”
“Are you kidding me? I couldn’t! He’s strong!”
“Oh, so you like him for his muscles, huh? I thought we had put the past behind us, (Y/n),” Draco scoffs.
“What are you talking about?” You cock your head to the side, a deep pain settling in your chest as you try to work through this. If you could just get him to trust you again...
“What is this? Revenge? Or are you just reverting to our Hogwarts days?”
“What? Draco you’re not making any sense.”
“Are you cheating on me to get back at me for what I did at Hogwarts? For when I broke your heart? It’s been over two years! I thought we were over it! I won back your trust, your heart, and this is how you repay me? You must be really dedicated to payback because you’ve shown that more loyalty than you’ve shown me.” Draco spits at you, venom laced in his voice as he accuses you. Your heart breaks. Is that really what he thinks of you?
“Why would I wait two years to exact my revenge? What do I gain from that at this point, Draco? I love you! Why would I lose all of that?” You ask him, slightly defensive but slightly just...hurt.
“I don’t know, maybe you’re just reverting to your ways of being a player. Maybe I’m getting played.” He hangs his head in his hands. You feel tears prick at your eyes again.
“Are you...are you kidding me? Now you’re just grasping at straws- I’m telling you the truth. He forced me into a kiss and made sure that you were going to walk in right as it happened. I swear it. I’ll do anything to make you believe. I didn’t do this for stupid revenge, I’m not a slut, and I’m not lying. I’m...kind of hurt that you don’t believe me.” You answer honestly, hoping that he’ll look up at you and know that you’re telling him the truth.
“It’s...really hard to believe you when I walked in on you kissing another man. It’s hard to unsee.” He murmurs.
“What do you want me to do, drink veritaserum so you can test me?” You scoff, throwing your hands up in the air out of frustration. The only thing he can do is take your word for it. If he doesn’t trust you, then what can you do?
“There’s no way to access that, you know it’s controlled by the ministry.” Draco shakes his head, still hung in his hands.
“Holy crap you actually...” your heart pangs in your chest, “you actually don’t believe me enough that you’d have me take a truth potion?” You mutter, feeling a few tears roll down your cheek. You never thought it would reach this point. You thought he would believe you. You’re not sure what to do anymore if he’s willing to take it this far.
“No. we’re agents trained in ways to avoid the truth serum in case we’re captured. It would never work.” He thinks through in his head. You scoff, the tears choking your voice slightly.
~TW: alluding to rape!~
“Forget it. Forget this. Send me an owl when you’ve learned some common sense, but I’m done with this right now. You….you can’t seriously believe that I’d want to be with that...that jerk. That slime ball of a human being,” more tears stream down your cheeks until you’re almost out-right sobbing, “I was...so scared of what he was going to do. I didn’t know you were headed that way, I….I thought he was going to take advantage of me...further than he did. I was terrified...but then you walked in and I thought I was saved….I thought…” You trail off, tears streaming down your face as the trauma of what almost happened sinks in. You never thought you’d be faced with this in your work before, but why are you surprised when it happens to women all the time.
~TW over~
Suddenly, there’s a strong pair of arms wrapped around your shoulders and pulling you into Draco’s chest. You sob into him, unable to control the tears anymore. Draco strokes your hair, whispering sweet nothings to you. You pull back after a moment and look at him, seeing the concern and love swimming in his expression.
“Did he hurt you at all?” Draco’s voice is soft but fierce. The amount of genuine concern and fear written on his face tells you that he’s serious at this moment and that he’s putting your previous argument aside for now. For you and your wellbeing.
“N-no...but I hurt him pretty badly. He’s probably still passed out in his office…” you try for a small forced chuckle, thinking about how you paid him back for what he did. Draco breaks into the smallest of smiles, pulling you back against his chest.
“I’m sorry...I’m so sorry.” You think you hear him sniffle.
“For what?” You ask. You know exactly what he should be sorry for, but you want to hear it.
“For not believing you. I...I was the one caught up in the past, not you. I was so caught up in my jealousy and guilt from that guy and what happened two years ago that I couldn’t see past what I wanted to see. I’m so sorry. For just now, for two years ago, for everything. You deserve so much better.” He murmurs into your hair. You hug him tight.
“You apologizing so quickly...realizing your mistakes...Draco, that’s what solidifies in me that we do deserve each other. We’ve both made mistakes. I should have realized what was happening with him, and I should have told you and kept you informed...and you were blinded by jealousy and guilt. But we’ve realized this and we’ll move past it. I love you, Draco. You’re the perfect man for me.”
“(Y/n)...I couldn’t ask for a better woman to be my fiancée. And as for him...I would like to be informed next time, but you couldn’t have known what was going to happen. Don’t blame yourself for this, it isn’t your fault. It’s entirely on him and his choices, and I will see to it that he gets severely punished for what he did.”
You smile at him.
“I love you.” You murmur, burying your face into his chest.
“I love you too, (Y/n). So much more than you can ever imagine.” He sets his head atop yours, running his fingers up and down your spine. You’re not sure what’s going to happen now, but you know that Draco and you have made up. Mistakes were realized, and he prioritized your needs above his own and saw past his distrust to hear you out.
“Should we tell the ministry?” You ask.
“Yes, we’ll tell them tomorrow morning. And I’ll back you up the entire time, I promise. I’m so sorry I didn’t believe you. I’m sorry I took it too far… I didn’t know what to think. But I should’ve believed you the entire time, I’m so sorry.” He utters quietly, pressing a long kiss to your hair. You close your eyes and relish his presence, his embrace, just him.
“It’s okay, Draco. I love you. I know.” You squeeze him just slightly tighter. You’ll need to save your strength for your next battle tomorrow.
~+~
A few days later, you’re packing up the stuff on your desk, a small smile escaping you as you remember all the good times you’ve had here. You were going to miss this little desk. You’ll miss your co-worker gossiping next to you all day. You’ll miss a lot of things about this little office space.
“Are you leaving, (Y/n)?” Your co-worker asks you, a small frown appearing on her face.
“Yeah, I am. I won’t be here anymore. The ministry didn’t quite believe me when I told them about Oscar’s offenses.” You frown, looking at your little box of stuff from your desk.
“Oh, I’m sorry. What are you going to do now?” She asks, casting a forlorn look to your previous desk-space.
“Well...I’ll be moving into Oscar’s office because I got Draco to speak up on my behalf. I may not have had much pull in this ministry, but my fiancé certainly does, and you can’t get away with hurting a future Malfoy. And trust me, I certainly have some pull here now.” You smile at her. Her frown transforms into a grin.
“Congrats, that’s so exciting! We’ll miss you out here, but congrats on the new promotion and office. You deserved it.” She hugs you, almost knocking your box out of your hands. You laugh as she pulls away.
You turn to see Oscar walking out of his office with a similar box in his hands, except with termination papers sitting atop the items. You send him a smirk and a small mocking wave as he leaves the building.
Excited, you turn back to your new office and start setting everything up. There’s a soft knock on your doorway and you look up to see Draco looking at you. You grin at him.
“We did it!” You giggle, throwing your arms around him as he walks up to you.
“I didn’t doubt you for one second. I knew you’d win the argument against the ministry.” He laughs, closing the door behind him for a private moment.
“Well, having the Malfoy name to back me up certainly did wonders. I should be thanking you.”
“You would’ve won either way, the other way just would have taken longer. Trust me, (Y/n) (Y/l/n)...soon to be (Y/n) Malfoy...is a force to be reckoned with.” He wraps his arms around your waist and leans down to kiss you. You accept the kiss with eager anticipation and throw your arms around his neck.
You pull away and rest your forehead against his, closing your eyes and basking in the moment. This perfect moment. You got the promotion, you got payback on Oscar, and you kept your love.
“I love you, (Y/n) Malfoy.”
“And I love you, Draco Malfoy.”

Didn’t Keep Away
[~10Min Read, 3.5kWords – Jaehyun x Female Reader – NSFW Angst/Smut – Dubious consent, office hookups, toxic relationships, fellatio, ethical grey areas.]

Tumblr media
“You’ll never guess who I saw at the bar last night,” one of the assistants in the office nudged you in the copy room. He barely even waited a moment before he eagerly continued. “That junior pain in the ass from Price a few years ago! What was his name?”
Jaehyun.
“Jung?” The assistant prattled on, “Jae, something-or-other? God, what a prick. I wonder what he’s doing back in town.”
What was Jaehyun doing back in town? How come he hadn’t made his usual point of making you painfully aware of it?
Why were you so concerned about it?
It had been months since that night Jaehyun spooked Mark out of your apartment and made sure you hadn’t forgotten about him. You excused yourself from your babbling co-worker and drifted back to your desk with your finished copies, your mind awash with Jaehyun’s mysterious return to town. He was sure to show up at any minute now. You seated yourself at your desk, pulling open a drawer to fish out some sticky notes to flag your copies with when you spied it: a creased business card from Price Law with Jaehyun’s name on it, his cell number penned on the back.
Jaehyun had been so deceivingly charming years ago, handing you that card when you were just a receptionist and he was just an assistant at Price, trying for an interview at your firm for a position way out of his league. That was just like Jae — always swinging for the fences. He was going to be graduating soon and taking the bar exam not long after that, and he’d insisted on still trying for the associate position, even if just to get his name out there.
“I’m gonna be a big deal, you know,” he’d grinned dashingly at you, even coming off a sizzling rejection upstairs, “you’re going to be fielding calls from my office left and right in a few years. Maybe if you get to know me you can be the one making them.”
That was exactly how you remembered him: endlessly naive, endlessly cocky. You’d smiled like you knew better and took his business card, tossing it into your drawer without a glance. It then proceeded to get tossed into subsequent boxes as you moved from your reception desk, up the stairs to your assistant desk in your shared cubicle, to your paralegal desk in your personal cubicle. Just like the person attached to the card, you could never bring yourself to throw it out.
You barely got any work done over the next few hours until it was time to go home. Your mind swam with questions, mostly revolving around why Jae hadn’t come around yet and why you even cared. Nothing you came up with made sense nor satisfied you. Thankfully, you spied John, the assistant whose gossip was now torturing you. You trotted up to him, catching up just in time to grab the same elevator.
“Hey!” You wheezed, catching your breath as you tried to appear casual. “So you saw that Jaehyun prick at the bar?”
“Him?” John scoffed, “Absolutely. How could I miss him? He was catching up with those dicks at Price and buying everybody drinks.”
“Ugh,” you pretended to share his disgust, “what a tool. I bet he took some random girl back to his after.”
“Nah,” John shook his head, “he actually called it an early night. Went back to Parkway, if I overheard him right.”
“Huh. Weird,” you pondered out loud, snapping out of it as the elevator chimed for the parking garage. You spat out a quick send-off to the assistant before scurrying off to your car.
You took a moment to think as you got into the driver’s seat. Jaehyun never turned in early. What was he up to? Obviously, poking around the bar at the Parkway wouldn’t hurt. The luxurious hotel was central downtown, attracting plenty of local professionals to its bar and restaurant on its first floor after the work day was over.
In fact, the first time you’d seen Jaehyun after meeting had been at the Parkway, months later. You’d come with almost the whole office to celebrate the end of a years-long case, the senior partner leading the charge finally landing a settlement that managed to upgrade all the office’s computers when the fees were collected. Jaehyun caught your attention, just as you’d caught his across the bar floor. His eyes were glued to you the whole night, electrifying you with his attention. Something about the way he looked at you was almost sweet. He never approached, though. He’d seemed perfectly content to look at you, to watch you celebrate with your co-workers. It wasn’t until you were leaving that he made his move, catching you as you teetered off your barstool. He helped you slip back on your blazer and coat, and he even called you a cab. That had been it. No funny business.
Presently, the same corner he’d observed you from all those years ago was empty. Really, the whole bar was pretty empty, not many people in the mood to party on this particular weeknight. So where was Jaehyun? You ran through your list of options. If anything, you wanted to make sure Jae was the one not forgetting you tonight. You needed to shake him once and for all so you never had to waste time thinking about him ever again.
You approached the front desk, doing your best to look frantic. “Excuse me,” you greeted the clerk with a precise quiver in your voice, “I’m so sorry, but can you please get me a spare for Mr. Jung’s room?” The old clerk gave you a sympathetic look, but you quickly began again with a pout before he could refuse. “It’s our anniversary but he got called to a meeting, so I figured I could at least go out and get a surprise ready for him, but I forgot my key in our room and now I can’t get it ready before he returns and my plans are ruined.” The clerk sighed, taking enough pity on you for your plan to work.
It had been so easy it almost felt wrong, tapping your newly acquired keycard against the lock of Jaehyun’s room. You regarded the empty room, tentatively stepping into the dark as if he would jump out and surprise you at any moment. Sure that nothing would happen for now, you slipped your purse off your arm and helped yourself to a glass from the half-full bottle of wine on the coffee table. You kicked off your work shoes and made yourself at home on the small couch in the room. Now all you had to do was wait.
Which was easier said than done. Your mind still buzzed, wondering just where Jaehyun ever got the gall to ruin you like this. Surely, you looked like a crazy person now, waiting to spring some last ‘gotcha’ on him before finally leaving him behind. Really, you reassured yourself, he had this coming. He’d been like this since the beginning. You’d both been like this from the beginning.
The next time you had met after that night at the Parkway had been at his own office. He’d been surprised as you followed one of the partners into the conference room. Not only were you helping keep documents in order and taking notes, but you had also been the assistant doing most of the correspondence with the opposing counsel. Even though he was just a junior attorney, Jaehyun was quickly finding his footing, and fell right in line with Price’s reputation. With Price, It’s Always Right was the slogan on their hideous website, and your co-workers always shouted “It’s always extortion” over their stupid ads on the radio when clients weren’t around. Jaehyun was rapidly becoming one of their bulldogs, his assistants always badgering you with far-off deadlines and offering frankly offensive settlements.
The first time you witnessed this transformation, he’d been surprised as you entered the conference room behind one of your senior partners. Jaehyun was covering for one of the more seasoned attorneys out on maternity leave, and now he had to deal with you supplying document after document and mountains of notes to your boss for him to counter with. He stared you down, a look that you couldn’t distinguish between intrigue and frustration. Seeing him so conflicted lit the oddest fire inside you, something you wanted to savor and reject at the same time. The conference had taken two grueling hours by the time a conclusion was reached, but a trial was avoided so you were feeling pretty content. Having taken no breaks, you had quickly excused yourself to the restroom, only to be ambushed on your way back to gather your things. A hand lurched from the copy room and Jaehyun wrestled you inside. Once you saw that it was him, you had quit your thrashing and warily regarded each other. As if a fuse had been lit in each of you at the same time, you both snapped, grabbing onto each other and sharing a heated kiss.
“Holy shit you’re a pain in the ass,” he’d growled against your lips as he locked the door, “I thought you were just a receptionist.”
“I got promoted,” you smirked coyly, “just so I could fuck with you.”
“Anything else you want to fuck with?” He asked gruffly, surprised and biting down his shock as you shoved him back against the copier.
“No,” you smiled sweetly against him, “but I do want to make you weak in the knees. Maybe wipe that smug look off your face for a month or two.”
“Fucking try me,” he challenged. Jaehyun’s eyes narrowed and quickly widened as you dropped to your knees in the copy room, digging out his hard cock and your lips wrapping around his length before he could stop you. His fingers tangled into your hair as he grunted out a quiet moan, not wanting to give you the immediate satisfaction of knowing how amazing this had felt. Sure enough, his legs trembled where you held onto him, working him over much too fast. You realized his cock felt almost perfect in your mouth, your tongue caressing a particularly sensitive spot under the head. At this point, he’d have no dignity left with how rapidly you were getting him there. “You better slow down,” he warned, betrayed by his shaky voice, “don’t you fucking dare.”
You paused for just a moment, locking eyes with him as you persistently slid him back into your throat. All he could do was watch, helpless as you hungrily gagged on his length. He reached his breaking point. One hand clutching onto the copier, the other gripping your hair, Jaehyun had held you in place with his cock in your throat as his cum spurted into your mouth. He admired you for a second in the afterglow before yanking you back up to your feet. “Nobody treats me like that,” he huffed, almost impressed.
“I do.”
Jaehyun had scoffed at your response. “Then you’ll be calling me, at the very least.”
“Unlikely, Mr. Big Deal,” you winked before kissing his cheek, “but I’m sure we’ll see each other again. Remember to put your dick away before you go back out there.”
You had been so confident with Jaehyun then. Where did that go? There had been something so precious in the way he looked at you, like he could see an entire future for the two of you from just the sight of you. You sipped at the wine in your hands, lost in thought when the door clicked open. Jaehyun stared at you.
“Hi,” he stiffly greeted, looking back over his shoulder and back at you as if this couldn’t possibly be his room.
“Hey, Jae,” you smiled, raising your glass to him.
He stood confronted and stalled in the doorway. “I was going to call you.”
“Yeah? Not just show up like you have been?”
“Yeah,” he nodded meekly. For a second there, the boy was back, the junior pain-in-the-ass from Price. “There’s important things I wanted to talk to you about.”
You rose from the couch, purposefully striding over to him and taking his coat. You placed your glass of wine in his hands and he sipped it carefully, eyeing you over the rim as you hung the coat up in the front closet for him. His eyes shook for a second when you turned back to regard him. “Come on, then,” you coaxed, “tell me.”
“I’m getting married.”
The air evaporated from your lungs. You were bracing yourself from some reaction, but what reaction was it exactly? Everything hit you at once. “To who?” You finally asked.
“A girl. You don’t know her. I haven’t asked her yet, but she’s meeting me here at the end of my business trip and I have it all planned.”
Jaehyun almost looked sorry.
“I’m sorry,” he said quietly.
Yeah, right.
“I’m sure, Jae,” you nodded curtly. This was such a horrid turn of events. You turned heel and slipped your shoes back on. Before he could convince you otherwise, you’d already grabbed your bag and marched out the door.
The elevator carried you back to the ground floor at an agonizing pace and you walked right back into the bar. Married, you pondered, astounded as you distractedly sipped at your drink, Jae’s getting married.
Why did this feel so bad? It’d been ages since you thought about marriage, that girl killed and long gone, rotting in the mausoleum that was your relationship with Jaehyun. Now you were suddenly sore, blindsided that he finally put his torch down. He’d seemed so reserved upstairs, more mature and more patient than you’d ever witnessed him. Maybe that was this girl’s doing.
You hadn’t been as lucky the next time you encountered Jaehyun all that time ago, but you never considered yourself unlucky before. It was another day, another deal hashed out over the conference table, and Jae had just kept staring at you. He wasn’t entirely free from blame in landing a miserable settlement for their side, somehow paying almost 30% more than they’d originally offered. The look on Jaehyun’s face amused you. You couldn’t tell if he wanted to fuck you or eat you.
The answer came as no surprise as you returned from the bathroom after the conference, a repeat of his last maneuver still managing to get you alone in the copy room. The only difference this time was that you put up no fight, gladly accepting as he had pressed you up against the supply counter.
“I can’t seem to get you out of my system,” he’d growled in your ear, groaning as you brazenly slipped his belt open and groped the hardening length in his slacks.
“You don't even know me,” you grinned, holding back from reacting to his fingers methodically picking open the buttons of your blouse, no matter how nice his strong hands felt on you. You loosened his tie as his lips caressed your neck.
“I know you plenty,” Jaehyun had smirked, “you think you’re stringing me along but I see right through you.”
“You don’t even know my name,” you countered, having a hard time keeping your guard up.
“Of course I do. Your name is Tease and you think you have me wrapped around your finger, but that’s where you’re mistaken.”
You had gasped as Jaehyun spun you around, his hands still firmly roaming your body. “Nice try, you insufferable prick,” you sneered, trying hard to look confident as Jaehyun was quickly unraveling you.
“Oh, you’re right, my mistake,” Jaehyun had agreed seriously, “your name is Slut, and you’re more easily bought than you put on.”
A string of curses escaped you as Jaehyun swiftly slipped your skirt up over your hips. Before you knew it, Jaehyun had held you down as he freed his cock. Your panties were pulled to the side, and Jaehyun was inside you, carefully stretching you open around him. You let out a pathetic whimper as Jae rolled his sleeves up. He had held you close, firmly thrusting into your soaked depths and groaning in your ear. Despite how intense this was, you couldn’t help but be impressed. Jaehyun was bold, confident and eager in a way you’d never encountered. His fingers deftly manipulated you, one hand in your opened blouse, the other between your legs. The way he rubbed and caressed you was unprecedented.
“Jaehyun,” you’d gasped, “harder.”
“See?” He let out a breathless chuckle behind you, “You barely even put up a fight. I thought you were feistier than this.”
“Make me,” you’d fired back, voice thick with pettiness. Jaehyun had huffed, biting into your neck as he fucked you harder. You let out a hushed cry at his quickened pace, almost adoring how rough he could be. His hand slipped out of your shirt and into your hair, gripping you tight at the root. Your climax was in sight, only accelerated by how well Jaehyun had been stimulating your sensitive clit.
“Look how cooperative you’re being,” he condescended, “such a good sport.”
“Jae,” you’d whimpered, almost surprised, “you’re gonna make me cum.”
“Of course I am,” he’d smiled, the shake in his voice and his serious grip on you exposing how close he was getting as well, “now show me.”
The hand in your hair had loosened, now manhandling you into starved kiss as Jaehyun roughly fucked an orgasm out of you. His kiss quieted your strangled moan. Your legs spasmed, your nerves fizzling like firecrackers and your quivering pussy choking down on Jaehyun’s hard cock. In all the excitement, you’d hardly noticed Jaehyun uncontrollable groans as he came with you. You’d shared a moment in the stillness and quiet as you both came down, breathing hard and now looking into each other’s eyes.
“You’re pretty amazing,” Jaehyun had marveled, breathless. His eyes shone with admiration.
“So are you,” you admitted, unable to hold back your small smile, “nobody treats me like that.”
Jaehyun had gently pulled out of you and carefully readjusted your clothes, even helping button your blouse and petting your hair back into place. He appeared to actually be weighing options for once, and not just charging forward. “I do,” he’d finally said, “and now I’m asking you out. Go out with me. You won’t regret it.”
You won’t regret it.
But then you did. And now you missed him. It almost felt as if you were mourning and, in a way, you were. You and Jaehyun had started so beautifully before everything turned so ugly. You felt so alive before Jae, during Jae, but not anymore. Now you were drifting, detached, feeling weaker for craving the days before everything turned bad.
“I’m sorry.”
What?
“I said I’m sorry.”
You turned to finally notice Jaehyun seated on the barstool next to yours. A heavy sigh fell from your lips. “And why are you sorry?”
“I know how awful I’ve been to you.”
“Jae,” you shook your head, “don’t waste time on this. The bullshit that happened between you and I is passed. You tore me down and I picked myself back up, and for some reason I thought that meant burning this bridge instead of just walking away.”
Jaehyun turned away from your hard gaze. “I tore you down?”
“Jaehyun,” you sighed, “do you remember when you first told me you love me?”
“Sure,” he nodded solemnly, “of course. You dropped a bottle of wine in my kitchen and you were practically crying and I still thought you looked so pretty, and I told you I love you.”
“Right. And you said you’d always pick me back up when I was down. Jaehyun, when you stopped picking me up, I just felt left behind. Like I was abandoned and alone in my own relationship.”
Jaehyun stared at the bar, strong shoulders drooping. “I’m sorry,” he said quietly.
“I know you are,” you placated. Your eyes drifted down to his hands gathered in his lap when a glint of silver caught your eye.
Your chain.
Oh, Jae.
Even without the charm on it, you recognized it. Jaehyun had your chain wrapped around his wrist a few times, the delicate silver making a handsome bracelet.
“So you’re getting married,” you nudged him.
Jaehyun shrugged. “It sure looks that way. Our dads know each other. She’s really nice, and Dad will be able to expand the company.”
“But you like her?” You asked curiously.
“Enough,” he shrugged again, “I guess I feel like I need to hurry up. You know all my brothers are already married.”
“Who cares? I never thought of you as the marrying type anyhow.”
He finally looked at you again, eyebrows raised in surprise. “Yeah?”
“Of course. You’re too free to be tied down. That’s part of why we didn’t work out, looking back.”
“Yeah,” Jaehyun agreed with an enthusiastic nod. “I guess I have plenty of time to think about it before she gets here.”
You both smiled softly, looking down at your respective drinks before, finally, you gently laid a reassuring hand on his own. Your fingers toyed with the dainty chain around his wrist.
“I missed you.” Jaehyun admitted, almost shy.
“I missed you, too,” you agreed. It was true. You missed laughing together. You missed sharing silence. You missed experiencing life with him.
Jaehyun paused a beat, almost in concentrated consideration. “Want to stay for another drink?”
And you did.
Because you always would.

This was prompted by the lovely @anxiousmessofaperson! I apologise in advance for the heartbreak, but there will be a fifth part that will make up for it! I love how this story began nearly a year ago and I still love it with all of my heart, so thank you for enabling me to write more ❤
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900
[part 1]   [part 2]   [part 3]   [part 5]
Gavin sat at his desk in the precinct, slowly sipping away at his coffee staring at his screen. There was nothing much to do at the Red Ice front recently, so they had been assigned to assist with the homicide department. Nines had offered to go over to talk with Hank and Connor about what they could help them with after “interpreting that the scowl on his face after hearing the good news is one of discontent and frustration”. Yeah, he was right, he never liked working with the two. Well, he didn’t like working with anyone… except the toaster himself of course. The android was one of the four silver linings in his life; Cats, Tina and coffee being the others.
He risked a glance over the edge of his screen towards the tin-can. He had become much more attentive lately, picking up the more delicate parts about expressing emotions. And Gavin had more and more problems hiding… well, hiding his feelings. He had spent a lot of time with the android lately. They couldn’t go out drinking every day and Gavin didn’t want to spend all his money in coffeeshops and restaurants. So, they ended up at his home more often and nearly every day Nines accompanied him back to his place, before driving back to the precinct for the night. He had come a long way and Nines often surprised him by noticing far more than he had expected. He had explained it with his self-written program allowing him finally to come to his own conclusions and learning from Gavin’s input faster. Somehow the man feared the time the android wouldn’t need him anymore. He tried not to think about it too much. If the android was still sticking around after his programming essentially was functioning rudimental now, that had to mean something. And Nines called him a friend… He shouldn’t be such an idiot about it and think too much into-
‘Gavin!’ ‘Huh?’ The Detective looked up into the android’s face. When had he? ‘Oh, sorry, lost in thoughts and all. What-‘ He furrowed his brows at Nines smile. It was a real smile now. Well, it had always been real, but this was a socially acceptable one. ‘What has you grinning like this?’ ‘I asked Connor why he was so happy!’ ‘Oh shit, Nines, what did I tell you about being blunt?’ Gavin already thought about ways to explain to him that you didn’t simply go around asking people why they are happy. ‘Don’t worry, I was right! He wasn’t just smiling; he really was happy. He finally proposed to Hank! And he accepted.’ ‘Oh. Oh okay.’ Gavin nodded and looked back at his screen. ‘Good for them.’
‘Aren’t you happy for them?’, Nines asked. ‘You look…’ Nines took a minute and his LED changed to red from the strain to his systems. ‘I don’t know the word for it, but it is a form of sadness. Near to disappointment and… envy? I haven’t seen that on you yet.’ ‘There is no way hiding from you, is there?’, Gavin chuckled. ‘It’s nothing. Let’s get back to work, shall we?’ ‘…Yes. Just one question: That was something I wasn’t supposed to comment on, right? An involuntary display of emotions? I’m sorry for picking it up.’ ‘Don’t be, tin-can. You did nothing wrong. It’s impressive how much you learned. But you are right, I would rather not speak about it.’ Not yet. ‘I understand, Detective. I’ll send you the documents on their case then.’
Gavin sighed deeply, once Nines had sat down and interfaced with his terminal. He kneaded his forehead and cursed his damn heart. He was so proud of the android’s progress and their friendship, but still… The way Nines smiled at him set something inside him aflame, the way he was always so careful not to hurt a man everyone had thought couldn’t even feel hurt to begin with. The feeling when they sat on his sofa at home, watching a movie and he wanted nothing more than to lean against the other’s side, to be close to him and maybe be held even, maybe to fall asleep in his arms- Phck his feelings. They always made everything so difficult.
-
Nines didn’t know what to make of this particular human that stubbornly refused to be sorted into any category everyone else fit so neatly into. Co-worker, friend, family, drinking-buddy, partners, yes, that all fit in one way or the other, but there was not one he was content with. Gavin was more, so much more than just that. There was something still outside his reach, no matter how much he learned and how much he understood the mystery that was Gavin Reed.
The last weeks, if not months, the Detective had been acting increasingly weird, displaying emotions that made no sense in his self-written social module. Research didn’t bring up anything and somehow, he had always refrained himself from asking. He had learned quickly that humans didn’t like people pressing them to answer personal questions. He would have to wait until they came to him to talk about it. But something told him, Gavin would never tell him - with or without prodding. And while that was acceptable with others, with that particular man it was… off-putting.
With Nines being lost in his thoughts, the car was dead silent as they drove home – as Gavin drove home and let him tag along. The first words were spoken towards the cat, Stroy. Like any other day, Gavin vanished to take a shower, leaving the android to his own devices. Nines fed the cat and waited for the human to come back.
As he did, he heated up some leftover from the meal they had prepared together yesterday. Cooking was something… fascinating. Maybe because it was so utterly different to what Nines was meant to do. Maybe it was because they had listened to someone on the radio telling a joke, prompting Gavin to laugh. Maybe it was because they had spent the rest of the evening telling each other jokes. Now it was weirdly quiet as if there was tension in the air that would snap at the first word uttered. The human seemed to feel it too, because he sat down next to the android and sighed. ‘Hey, you are unusually silent, tin-can. Something I said? Something I can help you with?’ Nines fake-smiled at him, telling him it was nothing. A gesture telling Gavin his concern had been noted, but he didn’t have to worry or invest into discussing the matter.
‘You… Nines, I’m okay if you don’t want to talk about it. But if you want, you can tell me. I promised to help you and I will keep it.’ So the concern had been real. Of course, it had been real. This was Gavin. ‘You are behaving weird around me. At least for the last few weeks, but probably longer. I am asking myself why.’ Another sigh was his answer and the human put his untouched meal down on the coffee table. ‘If you don’t want to tell me, that’s alright. I don’t have to know everything.’ ‘No, I will tell you. But I… I want you to know you are in no way obligated to feel the same way or pretend anything, okay?’ ‘Okay.’ ‘I… Phck this isn’t… I’m bad at this… Err…’ He took one deep breath and closed his eyes. ‘I love you, alright? I don’t know when or why it started, but I just…’ He relaxed a bit and looked to the ground. ‘I just do.’
The silence stretched, while Gavin awaited a reaction. The android was most likely processing and he didn’t dare to look up. To see that LED spinning. To see that laughing face calling him an idiot. Or worse, that expressionless face from the beginning back to ask him why. ‘Love. You love me?’ Gavin nodded, still looking intensely at the floor, until Stroy rubbed against his leg and he automatically petted her. ‘I didn’t tell you. I tried to keep it secret. I didn’t want you to notice it. You know, I didn’t want you to know it before you really understood it, before you could identify it yourself and know how you feel about it, okay? I don’t- You don’t- Phck, it’s complicated!’
He sat up at this and looked into the android’s face, feeling miserable and at the same time as if a weight was lifted from him. Nines studied him for a while. Then nodded. ‘I see.’ It made sense to him. ‘Thank you for telling me. I will need time to think about it. I think I should leave. We will see each other at the precinct tomorrow?’
Gavin stood, shocked and caught off-guard. ‘Errr… yeah, of course! You… You get back safe!’ ‘Thank you, Detective, I will.’ With that he was out of the door not nearly half an hour after entering.
‘Phck! Phck you Gavin, you phcked up!’ How could he have been so dumb? How the hell did he think this was a good idea? ‘Yeah, of course, tell the tin-can, that has just learned to smile and detect if people are happy, you phcking fell for him! That won’t weird him out at all, no. What did you expect, hm? That he tells you he loves you too? That he kisses you? This isn’t some cheesy phcking rom-com! Holy shit Gavin, haven’t you learned a thing?’ He slammed his fist against the next wall and wallowed in the pain racing up his arm. ‘Get back safe. Really? You didn’t even try.’ He leaned his head against the cool wall. ‘Phck me and my idiotic timing. You lost a perfectly good friend again, Gavin. Congratulations.’
After an eternity leaned against that wall, he went straight to bed. The world could phck off. He didn’t care he hadn’t eaten and that it wasn’t even after 8 pm yet. He threw himself onto his blankets and wrapped them around him staring at his nightstand. Then he finally gave in and took the little blue gemstone in his hand.
‘What is this?’ ‘It’s a stone. It reacts badly to pressure and heat, just like you and it looks like your eyes when we investigate at night. My research deemed this a suitable gift. I’m going back to work.’
He shook his head to shoo the memories away and closed his eyes, pressing the little stone to his chest.
-
Nines sat in the automated car replaying the memory over and over again.
I love you, alright? I don’t know when or why it started, but I just… I just do.
I love you.
Nines couldn’t understand, couldn’t… he was a machine. A defective machine. He knew Gavin would hate to know he still thought in such ways, but he simply did, it was a fact. He was defective. It was the human’s effort that made him less broken, that let him function correctly, that made him… happy. To think… To think anyone could love him was something he had never expected. Especially no one who knew him that much. Who knew how he had once been, who knew how he still was. Who could see beyond the learned imitations of expressing emotions. He just couldn’t process this at all. He needed help. The only one to come to his mind was Connor. It had been a long time since he had come to him for help, but this was an emergency. He couldn’t possibly talk with Gavin about this. The risk was too high to hurt the man. He couldn’t… He couldn’t take that risk. He needed-
He needed-
‘Connor! I need your help!’
Nines faced a very confused Hank at the door. That was enough to shake him out of his panicked state momentarily. ‘I’m sorry. Is Connor home?’ ‘Err… Yeah, what-‘ ‘What do you need help with?’, Hank was interrupted by a face appearing next to him. ‘Emotions’, Nines blurted out desperately. Hank stepped to the side letting him in. ‘Who doesn’t?’, he muttered, taking a swipe of the street in front of his house, before closing the door again.
Moments later they sat at the kitchen table, Hank eating while the androids talked. ‘Okay, brother, what do you need help with? Did Gavin do something?’ ‘Yes! He-‘ ‘I’m going to kill him!’ ‘No!’ ‘What?’ ‘Please don’t kill him, he loves me!’ Whatever Hank had been about to swallow at that second was coughed onto the table in a desperate attempt to get air in his lungs. ‘Tha prick fucking does what?’, he cried out once he had gathered himself. ‘He told me just now. I asked him why he was acting so weird and he confessed that he loved me, but didn’t want me to know as I am… well, as I can’t express that yet.’ ‘Never thought the kid had some sense of decency’, Hank commented, coughed again and drank some water.
‘I am still so confused! I… I hadn’t expected it and… and my research has proved wrong before, I don’t want to screw this up and I-‘ ‘Nines, calm down. At least try’, Connor said. ‘So, he loves you. Fine. What do you feel?’ ‘I… I don’t know. I never talked with Gavin about love. And it is such a complex concept. There are expectations and so many aspects, I… Movies! We watched movies together and some of them depicted love. There is a physical component. A mental one. A social, a biological one. And they always… It’s difficult. I don’t know if I can give him what is expected.’ ‘Nines. Stop. Forget what is apparently expected, please. What do you feel?’
‘I… I just-‘ ‘Just speak with me. Don’t worry about social stuff for a moment, okay?’ ‘He is far beyond the friends-category. There are too many feelings for that. And none of the others fit him. We are not family, as we are different species even and not linked by blood. We are co-workers, but so am I and Chris and that definitely isn’t the same. I like his company. I owe him so much for teaching me. I like his determination and commitment. I want to give him something back but not to repay a debt but because I think he deserves it. I would even do it had he never done a thing for me. I like the little gestures he leaves behind for me and pretends it’s just a coincidence. He bought books on problems expressing emotions to help me better, he keeps thirium in his fridge. I am the only reason for it, but he always makes it seem as if it had always been there. As if it was normal. There is so much I like about this man, but I don’t know if that’s love. Because it is definitely more than friends, but not what the movies depict, not what it’s supposed to be and-‘
Connor laid a hand on his that was wildly gesticulating without him noticing. He was smiling at him. Honestly. ‘You came to me for advice? Here it is: Go to him and tell him exactly what you told me just now. Love isn’t something that a simple definition you find online can cover completely. Love definitely isn’t what the movies tell you. Love is as complex and complicated as the people involved. And there are so many ways to love someone. Go to him, tell him what you feel. It’s the only way of finding out whether or not he accepts the form of love you are willing to give.’ ‘But I’m afraid’, Nines whispered. ‘What if he doesn’t.’ ‘Then he’s even more of an idiot than I thought him to be’, Connor chuckled. ‘Brother, I mean it. He is my most valuable friend, I don’t want to lose him.’ ‘Then you won’t. You can stay friends after this. You didn’t hurt him, and he didn’t hurt you. Think about it about being incompatible to interface. You can still talk after trying, can’t you?’ Nines looked onto the hand that laid on top of his and shifted his to hold it. ‘Thank you, Connor.’

“Will I finally be able to meet the elusive Dr. Reid?” you asked your older sister as you followed her to the job she speaks so passionately about. She has been working here for a while, but she hasn’t introduced you to her co-workers. She talks so fondly of them which is why you were excited to come with her to work. She promised she’d take you only if you promised to sit in the corner of her office and not bother her when she was working.
“Yes, you will meet him,” she chuckled. She talks about how smart he is, how tall and skinny he is, and how high his IQ reached. Her other coworkers Emily and JJ seem nice enough for you to like them, Hotch was a bit too intimidating for your likes, and Rossi sounded nice. The only person you were really scared to meet was Derek. She and him kind of had a thing going on with him calling her “baby girl” and everything, but the way she talks about him got you nervous to meet him.
“Will Derek be there?” you asked as you bite your lip.
“Yeah, it’s his job,” she chuckled. “Don’t be nervous, come on!” She led you to the floor she worked on, and you saw her coworkers mingling inside the office. Due to pictures she showed you, you could place a few names to faces, but you weren't too familiar with them.
“Ladies and gents, I have brought my sister with me!” Penelope announced as she walked inside. All heads turned to you, and you suddenly found yourself blushing at the attention. She dragged you over to the circle that formed so she could introduce you.
“Y/N, these are my co-workers. Spencer Ried, Emily Prentiss, JJ, Derek Morgan, and Hotch and Rossi are in their offices,” she grinned. “Team, this is my younger sister, Y/N.”
“Yeah, but only by 4. She makes it seem like I’m a lot younger than I really am. I’ve heard a lot about you all,” you said as you shook hands with Emily and JJ before moving onto Spencer who just waved.
“I don’t shake hands. The number of bacteria and germs passed--”
“I know, it’s safer to kiss, right?” you chuckled as you cut him of. He blushed and nodded before looking at your sister. “She tells me a lot about the people she works with. Fist bump?” Holding out your hand in the shape of a fist, Spencer chuckled before hitting it lightly with his own. There was one more person to talk to, but you weren't ready for that. As soon as your eyes landed on Derek, your whole body froze in intimidation. What your sister says about him doesn’t do justice to what’s actually in front of you. He had a gorgeous physique, chocolate brown eyes, and a beautiful smile. There was no way you would be able to get even a word out without looking like a fool.
“Hi,” you nodded quickly before taking your sister’s hand and dragging her away from the group to get to her office. The whole team watched as you iced out Morgan as you and Penelope walked to her office.
‘Did y’all see that?” Derek asked with a frown.
“Dude she iced you out,” Spencer smirked.
“What did I do to her?” he frowned.
“Maybe it’s what Garcia has been telling her at home,” Emily shrugged before leaving the circle. Derek looked back at Penelope’s office before going back to work as normal.
“What the hell was that? You were completely rude to him!” your sister hissed at you.
“No I wasn’t… was I?”
“Yeah, you were. Derek is one of the most sweetest people I know. He didn’t deserve that.”
“Well, I didn’t deserve to have my heart stop at the first sight of him, so really, he started it,” you huffed as you sat down in the corner.
“You think he’s cute,” she suddenly grinned.
“And you don’t? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more gorgeous man alive than him.”
“Well, next time, don’t be so rude to him,” she demanded before getting to work.

It was constant calls from the BAU when they went on their trip to whatever city they were going to in order to solve some crimes. Penelope was popular within her circle of friends, and you couldn’t help but notice the way Derek spoke to her. He called her “baby girl”, “sweetheart”, and they shared a lot of flirty banter. You and your sister kind of looked like, but you were a lot shorter, and a lot heavier than she was. If he was so busy with your sister, he would never even see a woman like you. It would be pointless to flirt with him, so you kept your mouth shut in fear of rejection.
Penelope let you come to work with her the whole time the team was out which was a blessing, but now they were coming back and you didn’t know how to act with Derek around. Your sister demanded that you be nice to him, but as soon as you saw him walk through the doors, it was like you couldn’t say more than two words to him. The rest of the team was greeted by you, but Morgan was ignored.
When he tried to look at you, you would avoid eye contact. When he tried to talk to you, you would make an excuse to leave. He didn't know what he did wrong considering he had never met you prior to a week ago. Your sister was giving you shit for being so rude to him, but you couldn’t tell her how much he intimidated you. He looked like he was sculpted from the Gods while you looked like you were mushed together.
There was no way he would ever go for a woman like you.
“Hey, baby girl,” Derek said to Penelope on a day you weren't in the office. “What’s the deal with your sister?”
“Is she being rude again?” she sighed.
“Did I do something to her? Did you say something about me?”
“No, nothing like that. She took one look at you and freaked. She has a crush on you.”
“I think she’s cute too. I was trying to ask her on a date this whole week, but hadn’t had time too,” he chuckled.
“I’ll get her to come in here tomorrow. You can make your move then.”
“She has a crush on me?” he asked with a grin.
“The biggest one I’ve seen since high school.”
Tumblr media
When your sister asked you to come to work with her again, you were thrilled to learn more about what she does. For a moment, you forgot about Derek and everything he did to you on a subconscious level. He wasn’t in when you came into work, and your sister was already putting you to work.
“Get us some coffee, will you? I will go get my office set up,” she said before leaving your side. Walking to the break room, you grabbed two coffee mugs and started brewing the coffee. While you waited, you began playing a mindless game on your phone.
“She has you getting coffee for her?” Derek asked with a smirk as he approached you inside the break room. Jumping in fright, you barely looked at him before pouring whatever coffee had brewed into your sister’s mug.
“Yeah. She really wants it, so I have to go,” you mumbled before trying to escape. However, he was blocking the only way in and out of the place. “Excuse me.”
“Why are you so nervous around me?” he asked.
“Damn it Pen,” you sighed when you realized she must have told him something.
“Red looks good on you, Y/N. It really suits your skin tone,” he complimented you.
“Thanks,” you blushed. “Look, I don’t know what my big-mouth sister told you, but--”
“She didn't tell me anything. I accidentally bought two tickets to the baseball game this weekend. I can’t return one of them, so do you want to go with me?”
“How did you know I love baseball?” you asked.
“I didn’t,” he grinned.
“Are you…? Is this…? I mean, are you asking…?”
“Yes, I am asking you on a date. Will you come with me this weekend?”
“Oh, y-um, I-I guess I’ll s-see what’s on my s-schedule,” you stuttered like a fool.
“Good. Let me know if you can make it. I really hope you can,” he grinned as he bit his lower lip sexily. He walked out of the room, and you finally let out the breath you didn't know you were holding. Quickly fixing the coffee mess, you ran to your sister’s office before slamming the door shut.
“You’ll never guess what just happened…”

Just like them (part 10)
This was one of my favorite sequences in the old picture story, so naturally I had to use it in the written fic, too. Enjoy!
Afternoon of Thursday, November 18, 2038
The sound of the doorbell was a jingle Daniel didn’t recognize. Him being an android, he could have looked it up online in no time at all. Him being a deviant, however, meant that Daniel would simply ask about it when the opportunity arose.
From inside the telltale sound of a door unlocking remotely as well as what might pass as a greeting arose:
“Come in! Door’s open now!”
Tentatively Daniel turned the door knob, then took the first few steps into the apartment, where he was greeted by a cacophony of animal noises. One species of animal, precisely, and their sounds weren’t aimed at the guest either, but self-contained:
“Meow!! Meow? Meeeeeeeeeeeow!”
The android quickly closed the door behind him. He was now standing in a floor between two doors. To the right another door seemed to lead into the bathroom. One wall sported the expected array of clothes hooks, knickknack-shelves and decaying paste-it notes, but the opposite one was lined with dis-and then re-assembled parts of cat-condos that formed an adventure park for felines. To the floor’s far end to the left a curtain covered a doorway. At the moment that curtain’s brim was of utmost interest to a tiny kitten. The animal was all but lost inside the fabric. Unable to see its family, it produced regular, high-pitched control calls. To the deviant they sounded both cute and enervating, in fact, the little thing didn’t sound that much different from Connor…
Daniel carefully scanned his surroundings before taking another step into the apartment. He spotted two more young kittens and an older one. That last one was a dirty shade of black and his somewhat longer fur suggested that this or that pedigree cat numbered among his ancestors. The black adolescent moved between the little ones like a dreadnought. It seemed to substitute for the others’ parent, because it was both answering their control-calls and in turn sending some of his own.
Pad, pad… Meow? … Pad, pad, sudden jump, Meow!!! Hiss! … Ming? Ming-Ming?- Määhh!
“Oh my god, what’s that?” Daniel exclaimed. “A Crazy Cat Lady Starter Kit?”
“Hehe!”
From behind the curtain the apartment’s inhabitant appeared, a wide smile on his face. Daniel hadn’t known that this particular human was even able to smile, instead of grinning, sneering or winking, preferably with both eyes closed. Gavin Reed at home was looking so utterly… relaxed, that it was hard to believe.
The human plucked the stuck kitten - it turned out to be a standard brown tabby - from the curtain and placed it at about waist-height onto the climbing range. Then he held out one finger towards another kitten, a little tricolor, testing whether that one maybe wanted a quick petting? Turned out it didn’t, but further probing brought to light that the Calico wasn’t averse to the idea, just neutral towards it, so Gavin went over it’s fur twice and then stopped. Daniel’s jaw dropped at the sight, because it was more consideration for another living being’s feelings then he had ever seen Reed display.
To say anything at all, the android produced a weak “Are they all yours?”.
“Nah, just one of them. But the little buggers take their time to decide which one that’ll be.”
“They do – what? I didn’t know cats came in trial packs!” Daniel exclaimed.
“Heh, that’s one way to put it! The upstairs neighbors left six kittens behind when they moved. Five of those I managed to find homes for, then took in three more that got abandoned when their owners fled the city… they’re always rotating in and out, even before the evacuation order.”
Turning away from the android, Gavin allowed an orange tabby to taste-test the sleeve of his sweater. The kitten proceeded to roll over and plug all four of its paws into the man’s forearm with abandon. Gently Gavin moved his arm away from the cat-condo – the kitten remained stuck to it like a sloth to a jungle tree. With a proud grin the detective presented his “catch” to Daniel.
“Here, look at that! As if glued on! Isn’t it the cutest?”
Truth be told, Daniel could imagine a whole lot of more pleasant things than getting the skin on your arm slowly turned into stripes and he didn’t even have a real skin. But he kept his silence, afraid to carelessly destroy something precious again.
“The calico is Salazar”, Gavin introduced his collection, “but it turned out “he” is really a Sally. The dark grey one is Argus, the tabby is Minerva and the one in prison clothes is Stopthat, I mean Godric.”
His eyes closed, Godric took a hearty bite of Gavin’s sweater…
“So you want to keep only one, check”, Daniel spoke up again. “But you certainly must have a favorite?”
“That’s not how cats work!” Gavin protested against this outlandish idea. “They aren’t t-shirts that you pick by color preference. A cat either lays claim on you or it doesn’t.”
Daniel shook his head.  “Strange”, he admitted. “Caroline always said a cat was bound to the place where it lives, not to a particular person. Not loyal like dogs. That’s why I was never interested in cats.”
“I didn’t expect you to understand!“
And there the normal Gavin Reed was again, the standoffish one, the self-proposed center of the world, the know-it-all-can-do-everything, the only being whose feelings mattered. In a way the returned persona was less intimidating, because by now Daniel had gotten used to it. Asshole Reed offered familiar territory, whereas the whole cat-mysticism Daniel wasn’t sure what to think about.
With a nod Gavin ushered Daniel into the room opposite the apartment door. It turned out to be a live-in kitchen. The dining table was unused, or rather not used for it’s original purpose to comfortably let six persons eat. Stuff was piled onto the surface and the chairs: empty feeding bowls, a half-opened parcel, document folders with bookmarks sticking out, a small model or toy helicopter, a tablet connected to a cable that was running across the room… There was a smaller table next to a loveseat in the corner and, predictably, an expensive coffee machine with a grinder dominated the kitchen counters next to the seating arrangement. Above the monstrous thing shelves holding more coffee-related equipment than Daniel recognized lined the wall. Most of the stuff the android had seen so far in this flat had been of high quality and, although in general disarray, kept clean. The detective seemed to make the best of his pay cheque, not bothering to set aside much for an uncertain future. When not confronted with an android or Lt. Anderson, this man, Daniel now realized, lived to the fullest. The Connors were threatening this eternal-present bliss, they had made Gavin painfully aware of his irresponsible spending habits as well as the fact that he was approaching the age of forty.
Right to the entrance a terrarium was housing a kingdom of mice. “And here’s the mice I promised”, Gavin said, accompanied by a casual wave with the arm Godric wasn’t attached to. The kitten had gotten bored of playing sloth anyway and was now attempting to climb up all the way to Gavin’s shoulder. “Skim off as many as you like. They breed like… actually breeding is all they ever do. They’re like landbound guppys!”
“You like cats”, Daniel started. “Don’t tell me you keep the mice for…!”
Gavin grabbed Godric, who had come dangerously close to taking a nap in his sweater’s hood, and put him onto the kitchen floor.
“That’s absolutely correct”, the man said. “I won’t tell you. But I will share a trick for getting along better with people with you, tinman: Never ask questions you do not want answered!”
“Damn you, why, detective!” Daniel hissed.
Yes, why exactly? Why do I bother removing obstacles in front of somebody else, and an android, no less?
Of all the shortcomings of Gavin Reed, one thing he was not: unable to express his feelings. To the contrary, the world in general and the DPD specifically could have done with less of those. If he was angry or desiring something, the man always let the source of those notions know it. And if Gavin was interested in a guy, chances were he’d walk up to him and declare “You’re mine now” in only slightly more sophisticated words. No beating around the bush, no making excuses.
But this case was different. Being interested in an android? That just couldn’t be. Even casually hanging out with one had always been unimaginable. Because, after all, like the coffee grinder, an android was just a mobile attachment to another appliance, not something you chatted with over your brew! But here he was, helping Daniel to new pets and casually chatting him up like one did a co-worker or apartment neighbor.
Irritated by all the strange, conflicting notions Gavin snapped at the PL600:
“Because I don’t like losing something I’ve already invested into. Unlike Connor or Markus you’re still functioning as intended, despite having caught deviance. I appreciate that in a household device.”
Gavin took a step closer to the android. He looked up into his grey eyes with the blueish tint. Gavin’s own were grey, too, but the tint was green.
Why am thinking of its eye color all of a sudden? Why did I even NOTICE it? Ah, right - noticing details is just part of my job, nothing strange or worrisome!
“Hear that, Cyberlife?” Gavin barked. “I KNOW there’s nothing listening behind this mask! It’s just a simulation to make us grow attached to your products, and to fucking grow dependent on them! But there is nothing to talk to in there, except maybe customer service, so take this as a product review!”
“No, I meant why are you feeding the poor mice to… Hey, stop that!”
Going “kekekekekeke” Godric was climbing up Daniel’s leg.
“Yes, that’s him”, Gavin commented dryly.
“Aptly named”, Daniel laughed. He steadied the kitten during its ascend and eventually enfolded it with both hands when it had reached chest height.
“You want a mouse, huh? Or don’t you rather want cuddles?”
“Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”, Godric went.
“See? You wanted cuddles. You just didn’t know. Little killer, you!”
Daniel smiled. All of a sudden cats had become easy! They were not the unfathomable anti-dogs the Phillips family had painted them, not, they were just creatures following their own set of rules. Once you figured out those rules, the little furballs were astonishingly endearing. Suddenly Daniel’s legs gave way. The android realized too late that planning to visit an Android Zone for checkup didn’t equal to actually doing it. After the phantom-headaches had subsided, he’d staved off the idea over and over. But how could he have known beforehand that a kitten would use him as a play tower in here?
Daniel tried to reach a kitchen chair, but it was too late already. He went down rather undignifiedly and stared into the ceiling lamp - as well as into Gavin Reed’s shocked expression.
“WTF, you cannot just die in my flat! They’ll think I did it!”
“I’ll make sure to write It wasn’t Gavin on the wall in blue blood. Wh… what’s that crawling into my shirt?! Stop that!”
“Yeah, of course. Who else?”
“What are you calling him when you want him to literally stop with something?”
“Usually I scream something along the lines of “Ouch” and he gets the picture from the volume. But basically you wait till he grows too large for most of his shenanigans.”
“Okay”, Daniel moaned. “Good advice. I guess I’ll just keep lying here until one of you has matured enough to talk to.”
Any other android would have been dead after daring to give the detective cheek like that. Less alive than usual, Gavin corrected himself. As for Daniel, he was right now discovering a third option between unconditional family bliss and searing hatred in relating to humans: Disbelieving fascination. And also kittens.
Five minutes later…
“Are you done rolling on my floor now?”
Lying on his back and holding up the kitten with both hands, gently rocking him, Daniel replied:
“Are we done rolling on the detective’s dirty floor, Godric? Aaaaare we done rolling on the big bad cop’s floor?”
“My foot’s right next to your skull, you know.”
“But you won’t kick as long as I’m holding Godric.”
“Spoken like a true kidnapper.”
“I don’t see Godric care.“
The cat indeed didn’t care whether this man who was providing the cuddles was saint or villain, human or android, rich or poor. All it wanted was… Shred Daniel’s colorful headband, actually. The android had purchased one right after the encounter at the playground, so fulfill his parole condition of wearing a LED while still keeping the humiliating thing out of everyone’s sight. Upon command or when meeting his social worker, he could just lift the headband.
Daniel rose into sitting position, still playing with the kitten.
“Say, how much space would he need when he’s fully grown?”
“What?! Give him back at once! You aren’t satisfied before you’ve taken everything from us, are you?”
Daniel looked down, staring at the sudden kitten-shaped hole in his life. But wasn’t that what he was always getting? Whether it was a challenge or a living being, loss either way. His life, his family, Emma and Little Connor… he was growing apart from the Rasoya… Neil had been a one-time encounter… All Daniel had left was his strange acquaintance with Gavin, who was ranting at him:
“I told you about cats choosing their owner and now you’re trying to simulate that! But it’s not real! Just a goddamn chat program mimicking life!”
“You know what? You’re sort of right.” The android rose and straightened. “I overreacted.”
To the sight of Godric toddling towards the feed dispenser, where Sally and Minerva were already taking turns getting out pellets, Daniel mused out loud that he bonded to animals way too easily.
“…but then they die on you or worse, you have to put them to the gun because they become aggressive towards you. And with each one you lose, a part of yourself dies, too. So the sensible thing to do would be to avoid animals. But when you don’t have any around at all, you don’t really live. There’s no winning this game…”
“You had to put down your rat? Must have sucked.”
“It did! I wish I could unmake it somehow… Although I wouldn’t go as far as to call John a rat.”
“Wait, what, John? John Phillips? But you were talking about animals!”
“Yes, exactly. - Uh, on second thought forget what I said and hand me a paper bag! Your mice are getting out of hand and I’ve got an empty rodent cage to fill.”
They didn’t like to hear it, but Gavin’s people were indeed animals. Just like Daniel’s were machines. But each group had developed deviants within their ranks. Of the apes, it had had occurred in several species, of which only one was still present in 2038. Among the androids deviance happened all across the range of models with none being more disposed towards it than others.
And there they were, the not-quite-animals and the not-quite-machines, beings that were still heavily driven by their instincts or coding, but who had acquired the ability to go beyond and even downright against it. There was a word for them, although the beast-people were still denying it to the machine-people.
The word was “humans”.

For the kacchako drabble, how about some fluffy kacchako bonding time involving Bakugou's love for mountain climbing and Uraraka's love for starry skies?
Again, it took me a while buuut it’s done!
Summary: Uraraka works at a respectable organisation as a scientist at it’s lab. She has been working there for a year but has recently started to feel herself fading into the background. With this given assignment of writing a report on a meteor shower she feels like this is her chance to prove herself to her superiors. But the report is not coming along as nicely as she hoped. Luckily a co-workers is willing to help her out.
Writers note: I asked on Tumblr to send a cliché fanfiction trope in my ask box and I would make a decent Kacchako drabble out of it. This is for the fifth ask I received.

THE APRIL LYRIDS
Urarakalifted her glasses and rubbed the moisture off her nose with her index fingers. She went up to rub her eyes to fight the fatigue that was trying to subdue her.Clearly, she needed another cup of coffee if she intended to continue workingon the report. But she already had about three cups, she knew from pasts grindsessions that the fourth one would carry her far beyond her fatigue and shewould start getting anxious.
She wasanxious enough as it is as the report wasn’t coming along as nicely as shethought it was. And to think she was more than excited when her superior askedher to write about the upcoming meteor shower. Now she couldn’t wait until themoment she could hand it in. In reality, she was the one who made theexperience unbearable by wanting it to be one of the best reports possible.
Urarakacould feel herself fading in the background at her workplace, lately she hadbeen given small assignments and been assigned to do boring paper work. Shehadn’t cared much about being employee of the month at the lab, but she stillwanted to be noticed. Like everyone else she wanted praise and recognition, toprove that she’s a valuable asset to the lab. She loved her job so much and thethought of her being fired for not bringing anything useful to the table scaredher.
The meteorshower report felt like a lifeline from her superiors, a last chance to proveshe’s a capable scientist that deserved to be there as much as any other personat the lab. Uraraka was in luck that it was a subject she was genuinelyinterested in and fascinated by, but to her disappointment that hadn’t made itwriting the report that much easier.
At firstwriting went alright, she managed to write a few pages that she was more thanhappy with but now she was at a loss for words. She had been for three days.Uraraka had come to the conclusion that forcing herself to write wasn’t goingto get her anywhere.
Tomorrownight the meteor shower would occur. Though they had the technology to witnessand analyze it in the comforts of her own workspace, she wanted to actually seeit. Experience it. Uraraka was convinced it would fuel her brain withinspiration and she would be able to hand in a report the superiors would say‘sir’ to. But also that was easier said than done.
“Roughnight?” someone behind her asked.
Urarakarubbed the sleep sand from her fingers and pushed her glasses in her hair asshe turned her chair around.
He stoodthere with his lab coat on, laptop bag in one hand and keys in the other.Uraraka couldn’t make out if he was meant to be sympathetic or sarcastic sinceit was hard to tell with this particular guy. The expression on his facecouldn’t tell her much either since he was, like her, extremely exhausted.
Urarakasighed. “I guess you can say that.”
The guylooked at her desk that was filled with candy bars wrappers, textbooks andfiles. In that moment Uraraka felt very judged by him. She knew he was probablyfrowning upon her. His desk was always clean and organized after all. He neverseemed to have a writers block or run into much difficulties when doing hiswork. His reports were always a pleasure to read, a real eye opener, as if hewas a scientist with at least ten years of experience had written it. He wasemployee of the month material.
“Can I helpyou?” Uraraka broke the silence.
Thescientist lifted his eyebrows. She wouldn’t be surprised if he felt offended bythat, seeing as he never needed anyone’s help. He merely needed favors from hiscoworkers and nothing more than that. Uraraka believed that she hadn’t seen himwork with anyone since he stopped being an intern at the lab.
“I’m aboutto close off.” He spun the keyring around his finger.
Uraraka satthere blinking at him as she waited for him to continue speaking.
He tiltedhis head and started frowning at her.
“Oh right!Y-you want me t-to pack up.”
Thescientist rolled his eyes. “And fast, if my head doesn’t hit my pillow in thenext hour I’m going to go fucking insane.”
Urarakalooked at her computer screen and stared at a blank word document that wassupposed to be filled with possible locations to view the meteor shower. Shecould feel him get more impatient with every second she looked at the screen.
Eventuallyshe turned back to him. “Can I have ten more minutes please? Ten more minutesand I’ll be done.”
A loudgroan came from the scientist’s mouth. “Right, I wasn’t born yesterday. When ascientist says it’ll only take ten minutes it will at least take three hours.Just pack your shit and work at home.”
Urarakaknew she could easily do that, that’s what almost all of her coworkers did. Assoon as it hit eight o’clock, they would have had their things packed alreadyand ready to clock out. She couldn’t afford to work at home, there were toomany distractions and the atmosphere didn’t feel right. Besides she couldn’ttake the risk of being at home and not being able to continue her work becauseshe needed something from the lab. Therefore she made all of her reports andassignments at her workplace.
“I canclose off if you want!”
“As if. I’mone of the few people around here they trust with the key.”
“No need tobrag.” Uraraka said under her breathe.
Thescientist groaned again and made his way over to her and put his hand on herlaptop, attempting to close it. Uraraka went to grab his wrist and stopped him.
“Tenminutes.” She practically begged him.
He seemedto be taken aback by Uraraka’s touch and didn’t try to force his hand down. Helooked her in the eye, tried to figure out what switched in her. His stare wasso intense that it was hard for Uraraka to maintain the eye contact. He musthave noticed she started to lose the confidence she spoke to him with secondsago and broke eye contact. He looked over her shoulder at the sprawled outliterature and documents.
“What areyou working on that’s so important anyway?”
“Well, uh,I…” Before Uraraka could find the words to describe the project and distresshow important it was he reached over her shoulder to pick up one of hernotebooks.
“Hey!”
Thescientist turned away from her before she could snatch it out of his hand andstarted flipping through the pages.
“So youmust be the girl that writes those half decent astronomy reports huh?”
He turnedaround the notebook to it’s front. “Uraraka Ochako?”
Urarakacouldn’t help but blush when he said her name. Did he really say that herreports were half decent? ‘Half decent’ didn’t sound like the nicest of thingsbut going of his reputation, it was the nicest thing he could say in his case.Seeing as he was by far the best employees the company had the luxury ofhaving, his words meant as much to her as a compliment from a superior.
He flippedthrough the notebook some more. “You should teach some of these dimwits herehow to write reports then we could finally make some god damn advancementsaround here.”
Urarakafelt her cheeks getting even more color and took her glasses of her face. Shepretended to wipe away a smudge off with her coat.
“Like yousaid, they’re not the best so-“
“No,they’re definitely not the best. I said they were half decent, and that’s goodenough. At least better than the crap I’ve read before.”
“Thankyou.” Uraraka practically whispered. She looked at the name tag on his coat.“Thank you, Bakugou.”
He scoffed.“What’re you thanking me for? It’s not like you didn’t know yourself, it’sobvious.”
Bakugouthrew her notebook back on her desk and leaned against it. “I didn’t knowatmospheric sciences were your thing too.”
Urarakaopened her mouth to explain how it was merely an interest and that it wasn’texactly ‘a thing of hers’ but he interrupted her.
“Theupcoming meteor shower…They originally assigned me to do a report on that butthe higher ups gave it to someone else instead.”
Urarakaswallowed.
“And Iwondered ‘since when was there someone out of all these idiots that couldexecute this better than me?’ but now I see.”
She had noidea, that the superiors had put that much faith in her. This made her supposedlast chance weigh even heavier than it already did. Uraraka felt the pressurein her chest when realizing this and hearing Bakugou’s menacing tone of voice.Of course he would be pissed, she knew the feeling of someone losing faith inyou all too well. She couldn’t really compare the two instances but maybe ifshe showed that she could relate a tiny bit he wouldn’t lash out in now andabout three seconds.
“You betternot fuck this up or the superiors won’t be pleased.”
Crap.Uraraka just knew that he would go and lay complain with them, boasting how hewas more fitted to do the report after all. Who knew how far that couldescalate. He could threaten to leave if they kept underestimating him, therewere tons of companies that have tried to offer him higher functions and moremoney, but he decided to keep on working here instead. Or worse he could laycomplain about her, possibly get her fired. Even though they had the samefunction and status, she knew damn well who the superiors valued more out ofthe two of them.
The bestthing she thought to do was to be honest with him. “Actually. I’m trying notto…mess this up. I had a good idea but I don’t know if it’s going to work.”Uraraka pulled at a loose thread of her skirt. “I’ve done a good bit ofresearch but I haven’t that much further and-“
Bakugouopened her laptop and bumped Uraraka with chair and all to the side. Hecrouched down and started scrolling through her document. Uraraka tried toretrieve her laptop back and he fought her off with a single hand, casually hecontinued reading and nodded with every page he scanned through. When hefinished, he closed the laptop and shoved it back to her.
“I know aplace.”
Uraraka’seyes lit up. “You do?”
“You shouldbe able to see the shower perfectly fine from the place that I have in mind.”Bakugou looked at the ceiling as if he imagined himself being on that exactspot.
QuicklyUraraka took a scrap of paper and a pen from the pocket on her lab coat.
“Themountains a couple of miles away from town.”
“A coupleof miles? It’s actually quite a drive.”
Bakugoucrossed his arms and glared at Uraraka. She put her pen in front of her lipsand shushed herself.
Hecontinued. “After a bit of hiking, you climb to one of the highest peaks, youcan set up a camp there and capture some high quality shit.”
Uraraka perkedup. “Excuse me, did you just say climb? C-L-I-M-B? I have never climbedanything besides a tree before. How am I supposed to learn how to climb amountain in a day? Oh, this is hopele-“
“I’m comingwith you, you nervous wreck.” He loudly cut off her rambling.
Urarakablinked at him.
“Listen. Judgingof how desperate you have been sounding this whole time, you would’ve goneregardless. If you did, you would’ve probably fell and died and that would beon me. That wouldn’t exactly look good on my record would it?”
Urarakatwisted her face. “Really, that’s what it’s all about? Your record? Not abouthogging all the praise if I deliver a good report or anything?”
“Ohplease.” Bakugou spurted. “I don’t need to take credit for anyone’s work lady.”
Urarakastood up, put her laptop in her laptop bag and handed Bakugou’s his.
“You knowwhat? Forget about it.” She walked past him but immediately got pulled back bythe collar of her coat.
“Fuck, whatelse do you want me to say? That I wouldn’t mind seeing the meteor shower too? That I genuinely don’t want a stupid coworker to fall to their fucking death?”
Urarakadidn’t want to turn around, imagining that this situation was alreadyuncomfortable enough, especially for Bakugou. Also, she didn’t want him to seeher beet red face. She could barely believe what came out of Bakugou Katsuki’smouth. If she would tell anyone, they would laugh at her. She couldn’t decideif this was out of character for him or that he was just a part of him rarelyanyone saw. Uraraka didn’t know him well enough to judge.
Bakugou letgo off her collar and walked to the exit.
“In thatcase, then come with me please.”
Bakugoustopped for a second. “Let’s go.”
Togetherthey existed the lab and walked onto the parking lot, which was empty bar theircars.
“Make sureyou get equipment from the lab and I’ll take care of the gear. I’ll e-mail youthe exact location and time.” Bakugou said as he stepped into his car. “Don’tbe late.” He started his engine and before Uraraka could thank him again orwish him goodnight, he backed out of his parking spot and drove off.
Urarakawatched him until she couldn’t see his rearlights anymore before stepping intoher own car and driving home as well. To her it was crazy. How someone she hadlooked up to but was secretly a little bit afraid of was now going to help herwith an assignment that was supposed to be his to save herself from fading intothe background of the team.
She wasvery happy nonetheless. Bakugou had surprised her, but more in good ways thanbad. Uraraka hoped that he would remain semi-civil towards her.
The nextday all of Uraraka’s rather positive view on things disappeared. It had startedout pretty chaotic by her waking up way too late since she forgot to set heralarm because she fell asleep as soon as she got in bed. She also spent toomuch time on, looking at the weather forecast, deciding what to bring to themountains, finding the right equipment in the lab. As if her day couldn’t getany worse, Uraraka opened Bakugou’s e-mail during the middle of her day and hadgrossly underestimated the time it would take her to get to the exact location.
So Bakugougot greeted twenty minutes late by an Uraraka with the most drained look on herface. She struggled up the hill with all her equipment stuffed into a travelbackpack she purchased that day, glasses sliding of her face and panting as ifshe had just run a marathon.
“You’re notgoing on a three day vacation you know?” Bakugou mocked her.
Urarakatook her time putting the lab’s equipment down. She shot up and fixed her hairand readjusted her glasses as soon as everything safely made it to the ground.“This is all necessary!”
Bakugoupointed at her. “You forgot a few necessities.”
Urarakalooked down and saw she was still wearing her work clothes. She took a look atBakugou who was appropriately dressed to the T, a backpack strapped tightly tohim and wearing hiking shoes that have definitely been put to use more thanjust a couple of times.
“I’ll driveback as fast as I can, I swear, I think I can avoid the traffic if I leavenow!”
Bakugoushook his head. “You’re actually such a fucking mess. Of course we don’t haveti- Okay, first of all; you have to ditch the coat. Second of all; for the loveof God repack your bag, we’re going nowhere with that. And lastly; prepareyourself.”
He sat downon a log and fumbled with his watch. “I’ll give you ten.”
Urarakafelt like she was at military boot camp. He didn’t even give her time toexplain why things were going wrong already. The last thing she wanted was forBakugou to lose respect for her, since it was so hard to gain in the firstplace.
She steppedinto the adventure with a rather sour attitude but as soon as they startedhiking she felt herself getting a little merrier. Though she had a love fornature and was so fascinated with it that she made it her job, she hadn’t beenindulging in it as much as she wanted to. There was a park she liked walkingthrough, but that was middle in the city so that barely could be called realnature.
“Do youcome here often?” Uraraka asked.
Bakugoufrowned. “Did you just…”
“What? No,that’s not what I was going for! It was a genuine question.”
“Hm.”
The firstattempt of a conversation and it’s already taking a turn for the worse. Urarakaknows Bakugou doesn’t mind talking, but in this case he minded talking to her.But with Bakugou given her no indication for how long they had to hike for, shecouldn’t stay walking in silence with him.
“So do youcome here alone or with family?”
“None ofyour business.”
“Well it’snot, but it’s not like it’s a secret or anything right?”
Bakugoucontinued marching without answering.
“Right.”Uraraka sighed.
Justbecause he thought her reports were half decent and wanted to help her outdoesn’t mean he exactly wanted to be buddy-buddy with her. Uraraka waited beforeshe made another attempt at making herself comfortable by bombarding Bakugouwith questions. He looked so focused after all. Bakugou looked more investedinto the hike than anyone should be.
He had agood pace and barely broke a sweat, as if he walked the trail every day. Whichit did look like, it was almost ridiculous how much a lab coat could hideBakugou’s athletic form. It’s like he came straight out of those outdoormagazines that dad’s like to read. Uraraka tried hard not to stare as she triedto figure out where all of him had been hiding the whole time. Nerves rushedthrough her body every time he checked up on her, thinking he had caught herstaring.
A sight ofa flowering rapeseed took her attention away from him. She walked of the trailand crouched besides it.
“I can’tbelieve they’re starting to flower already! The year’s going so fast.” She saidas her finger followed the curve of the small petals.
“They tendto flower here early, later in the season this whole area is colored yellow,it’s almost stupid.” Bakugou said. “Such an underrated vegetable, people don’tknow a good thing when they see one.”
Uraraka wassurprised by a suddenly talkative Bakugou.
“I can’twait to cook them again.” Uraraka was barely upright again when Bakugou went totug on the handle of her backpack. He continued walking and dragged her alongwith him.
“Listen, let me blow your fucking mind with this rapeseed recipe. They way you’ve beencooking them before, erase that from your memory and make room for thegreatness I’m about to tell you.”
Urarakasmiled as she tried to not fall over her feet and turn back around. A singlerapeseed had sent a distant Bakugou into overdrive, talking about othermountain vegetables and how to cook them, flowers and other wildlife that couldbe found on the mountain and how good the citizens in the area treated thispiece of nature. Bakugou liked sharing information, but not personalinformation. Uraraka was slowly finding out how he ticked, she started to likeit.
The sun hadfallen when they reached the rock they wanted to climb and geared up. Urarakagot worried when seeing all the confusing gear sprawled out on the floor. Shedidn’t think she could mentally prepare herself enough for something like this.Bakugou however was actually getting excited as he geared up. With ease he tiedand clicked everything into place.
He noticedUraraka had stepped into the harness but was lost on what to do next.
“It’s goingto be all me from this point huh?”
Bakugouwalked up to her and tugged at the strap at her waist, pulling her right intohis personal space. He was so close his hair tickled her forehead, so closethat she could feel his body warmth. Uraraka turned her head to the side as he tightened her harness.
“Is thattight enough?” Bakugou asked.
“Mhm.” shesqueaked.
With hisfinger he went under the straps and pulled on them do a final check. Hecontinued to tie a rope on to her harness and tugged her in every time shetried to lean back to create more space. Bakugou secured the knot with a finalpull and stepped back. He scanned her from head to toe twice before taking offhis plaid shirt he had wrapped around his waist.
“I’m nothaving you freeze to death either.”
He threwthe shirt on her head without warning. As if Uraraka had never seen a plaidshirt before she took it from her head and hesitantly put it on. Immediately itstarted to slouch from her shoulders and cover her knuckles. She buttoned theshirt up and started to feel cozy. It was silly how much she actually neededthis comfort. Though she chatted and even laughed with Bakugou a lot during thehike, it was still a hike, a long one, that had definitely left a few blisterson her feet. Since the hardest part was yet to come, something as simple as theoversized shirt of an admirable coworker was more than enough to lift herspirits a little.
“Climbingwith load on you is not exactly recommended but we don’t have a choice here.”Bakugou put his own bag on at the front and took Uraraka’s bag from her. “Let’sgo.”
“What?Right now? But what about helmets, other protection, you can at least give atutorial!” Uraraka started to panic.
Bakugouwalked towards the rock and looked to the top. “It’s a short climb.”
Urarakacocked her head.
“Even forbeginners.” Bakugou continued. “Have some fucking faith will ya? I’m tellingyou I’m going to make sure we’re fine. Just follow my lead.”
Bakugoutook the flashlight out of his pocket and shined it on the rock, illuminatingpossible routes to climb. It didn’t take him long to choose one of the dozensof options. Uraraka watched him climb the first meters of the chosen route, hishand easily found pieces of rock to hold on to and he pulled himself up as ifhe barely weighed anything.
He attachedpoints of protection at the creases of the rock.
“Startclimbing!” He yelled down.
Urarakaplaced her hands on the rock and shivers went down her spine. She looked up atBakugou that was looking up at the route. After a while he noticed the ropebeneath him wasn’t moving and he looked down. He hung his head and then cuppedhis mouth with his hand.
“Pullyourself up. Right, now put your left hand there. Yeah like that, now put yourfeet on that little ledge. You see that there? Yeah, see we’re fine.”
Urarakaconcentrated on Bakugou’s voice and very much needed instructions. Whenclimbing she felt stupid for freezing at the bottom like that. She didn’t haveto be scared to put her faith in him, Bakugou was helping her out like he saidhe would.
“Right footthere. No! Little bit to the left. Don’t forget about your other foot. We’refine alright?”
They werefine. She felt herself getting the hang of it, placing her hands and feetbefore Bakugou’s even finished talking. Slowly she was starting to breathenormally again, she ogled at the city lights that shined far away, making wayfor the stars that gracefully dressed the dark night sky. Uraraka was startingto enjoy herself.
Bakugou wasenjoying himself too. She saw him smile every time he clicked his flashlighton. He looked kind of beautiful.
“Told youto have some faith.” Bakugou boasted as he pulled Uraraka up by her hand.
She lookedaround the top of the mountain and it took her breath away. The city lights hadcompletely faded away and the stars looked closer than ever, the moonilluminated the top like a spotlight on a stage in a theatre and lit upBakugou’s face. The shade of blue complimented his amber eyes perfectly shecouldn’t stop thinking as he looked at her.
“You shouldstart setting up, we’re getting close the shower’s peak activity.” Bakugoubroke the moment of complete silence. He put their bags down and laid down inthe short grass with his limbs sprawled out.
Urarakapinched herself in her leg to bring herself back to earth. It was time for herto stop dreaming and get serious. She unpacked her bag and got out the cameraand it’s lens. She checked the battery and the memory card and all was good. Itwas shame she couldn’t bring a tripod but her steady hands would have to do fornow.
“This islooking good and all but I feel like there’s something missing.” Bakugou said.
Urarakatook a few test shots of the sky. “If you’re talking about radio observing thenI’ve got that covered. I’ve set it up a few days ago and Yaomomo is checkingthe activity for me tonight.” She nonchalantly replied.
“You reallyaren’t fucking about are you?”
Urarakatook a picture of Bakugou. “You can say that yeah.”
Bakugoupointed at her. “If you keep looking over here you’re going to miss out.”
She turnedaround a saw the first bit of debris flying across the sky, leaving it’silluminous tail in the sky for only a couple of seconds. Uraraka propped up herknee and adjusted the settings a little bit more. She steadied the camera onher knee and took dozens of pictures every time a meteor flew by.
The top wassilent except for the shuttering of the camera and the cool breeze thatoccasionally blew by. Uraraka had never felt more in her element. Finally shewas going to genuinely know what she was on about when writing. This was by farone of the best things of being a scientist. Experiences like that.
Urarakalooked up from her lens when she heard the sound of gravel behind her. Bakugoucame up behind her and adjusted his shirt, putting it back over her shouldersand sat down besides her.
“And?” heasked.
“This isamazing, I think I have a lot of good shots. I can’t wait to pick them outtomorrow.”
“No, youdork.” He gently pushed Uraraka by leaning against her. “I meant to ask if you’vemade a wish yet.”
Urarakalaughed as she sat upright again and steadied the camera on her knee again. “Andyou’re calling me a dork? No, I haven’t made on yet.” She said.
She turnedto him and smiled. “I know what I would wish for though. What about you?”
Bakugoukept looking straight ahead. “It would wish for you to get more assignmentsthat you would have to climb mountains for.”
“I know howto climb them now though.”
“No, youdon’t.”
“Oh I thinkI can but I could always use a little company.”

On The Rocks- 7
PART 6 MASTER LIST
Tumblr media
I thought I had dreamt everything when I woke up the next morning an empty bed but his side still warm. Rolling over my eyes open ever so slightly I spot a note on the side table with the sunglasses on top. Grabbing the glasses and sitting up to read the note.
Amelia,
I Had to head home before practice.
Get better soon.
Text Will and I when you get back to where ever you live,
so we know you're alive.
- Your favorite leaf (Auston)
Setting down the paper, I check the time the digital clock displaying that it's 6:30 am, Laying back I am unable to fall back asleep deciding to it's time to get up I heave my sore body up and out of bed into the bathroom to start the day.
Leaving the hotel into the cold streets I hail a cab and head back to reality also know as my apartment that I share with two roommates. I don't even like my roommates they steal my stuff all the time and general annoyances they are opposite of me. The only reason I stay is that of the fact it's my apartment I own it. Feeling a bit grumpy now thinking about the peace I and minus a couple things this weekend I hope they did something so I can kick them out. Wow, I am mean today. Looking back at the hotel I am finding it hard to believe my weekend.
Getting back home I regret wishing for a reason to kick them out because my house is trashed. They had a huge party well I was gone and I am pissed. I am so glad I went out of the way to have legal documents of our rents agreement. Slamming the door shut behind me I'm taking photos of the mess that once was my home. After documenting the damage I'm glad I locked my room before I left on Friday. Heading to Claire's room I open the door startling the drunken mess awake. Her eyes wide at my visible fury.
"72 hours to pack your shit and leave my house or I press charges," I said firmly not giving her time to say anything and I am on to Anna's room across the hall. Banging her door open she's just like Claire started and giving her the same warning.
"Up now! You are cleaning the mess yourself" I said as the two redheads gingerly getting out of their rooms. Scared of what I'll do next.
"Lia is reasonable here" Anna tried to act coy playing down the level damage their party. My temper was gone I snap my head girl and stare at her. My eyes must hold my rage because she backs up but I am past being reasonable.
"This is me being reasonable. I could have said 24 hours but My house thanks to you guys is ruined. You can either clean it now and have your 72 hours or leave now and pay for the cleaning and damages. Just so you know you pay for the damages regardless of your decision." My voice cold and mean. They protest claiming it's illegal for what I am doing. I am about to lose my mind!
"If I recall we have a signed legal document saying I can" Knowing them off their high horse.
All this anger makes my head throb in agony instantly springing tears. Not want to deal with them. "Read your rental agreement and get back to me. I have documented every single piece of damage in this apartment. Now get cleaning" I leave no room for disagreement heading up the stair to my room.
My room untouched and the exact way left it. Dropping my bag, I carefully flop on my bed getting my phone out for only to see that it is dead. Groaning I retrieve my charger from my bag, the bending down hurting my head. After plugging in my phone I lay back and start meditating in hopes of calming down it half works for a minute. As long as i don't go down stairs I should be fine. Rolling over in my bed to check the time.
8:30 am.
It's still early I spent about half hour dealing with my roommates. My weekend was unreal thinking about it makes me giggle and happy again despite my headache and my roommates. Remembering the drinks at Gracie where steps fell asleep on the toilet, spent a day getting to know her too and my little accident that got two NHLers in my bed. Thinking about bed reminds me of the note.
Lurching up right I grab my phone and it's finally on and is swamped with messes from my dad, Steph, and other people. Getting my priorities I text my dad letting know I'm back home and then I text Auston and William.
Home :) - Amelia
Pressing send and continuing to check my messages I had a couple from Steph asking about my head and not being able to say bye because Mitch had practice and that we'll be going out soon. After shooting her text say I left the hotel at 7 am and back home head sore but good.
Later in the day after making so calls to my uncle to consult about the legalities of my rents and getting everything in order and ready in case they so try anything. I book an official cleaning and repair company to come in after Anna and Claire leave.  I have to get my couch replaced because it's trashed. Stressed now about possibly finding new renters because having roommates was a source of money for me.
"Maybe I could use this to find a better paying job" I mumble to myself. Deciding I will go online and search for Massage therapist careers.   Currently, I'm the athletic trainer on my brother's lacrosse team which only pays 50 a game but I also work at physio office down the street. I will have to adjust my resume.  I could enter in a more athletic field because for women I am pretty strong.
After using a lot of links, emails and number I have collected from school and co-workers I find a couple that looks good by one catches my eye.

There wasn't a lot of information but I felt the need to at least apply. Carefully crafting a well-mannered email and attaching the required documents after double checking everything before sending it and giving a little fist pump proud of myself and now I can call it a night.
71 hours Anna and Claire are gone and my place is sub par clean. The cleaning and repair on their way within the hour meaning I need to vacate my house for the day. I haven't a little extra done to the now empty bedrooms fresh coat of paint and furnace being deep cleaned.
Getting dressed I try to think of things to do today because I can be here until 8 pm. I'll start with Starbucks and see where my feet take me from there.
"Warm dress warm," I said looking for a sweater to wear find a brown turtleneck and black jeans.

Sipping my coffee and texting my dad My phone starts to ring.
"Hey Steph,"
"Hey, girl! Wanna do me a huge favor?" Her tone pleading.
"Depends...."I trail off not sure where she's going with this.
"My lease is almost up on my place and i need to look at Apartments. Can you please come with?" She's begging. I don't have to think hard because I have nothing to do.
"Sure"
"Please, I'll buy drinks- Wait that was easy what the.." She rambles.
"Well, I'm coming to get you now before you change your mind where are you?"
After giving her my location turns out she pretty close so she's here in a truck in minutes of hanging up. Hoping into the truck it's clear that it is not hers by the scent of man and a little bit of a mess.
"I stole Mitches truck" She confirmed my mental notes.
"Okay," I clap rub my hands together and turn to face her. "What are you looking for?" I asked to want to really help her.
"Well I don't need much BUT that doesn't mean I want some hideous Bachelor. I need space and a spare room because Mitch is always bringing people with him when we come over unless you know"  She blushes at the end.
"Ok, I get it" I nodded. Pulling up to the first building its so-Modern. I scrunch my nose. We park and head in to meet the building attendant. It's uppity as fuck.
Getting into the apartment my eyes widen. It's yellow. I turn to look at Steph she's eyeing the color as well. The extravagantly dressed man showing the apartment starts his sale pitch.
"So" He claps his hands and leads up further into the sun aka the apartment.
"We have the living space, open concept very open to the kitchen" He points around to the very obvious open floor plan. He continues rambling on and leading Steph around and I'm brought back by "And we that you don't paint any walls" My eyes widen shaking y head.
"Oh Steph, We have to go to that appointment that we're now late to that no here" I grab her wrist and we practically - we do run out of the apartment and back to the truck. Breathing heavy we burst out laughing.
"It was yellow. please tell me you weren't considering that" I watch her with judgmental eyes.
"Hell no, I didn't know how to get out" She shook her head at the idea.
It's around 5 pm and we've looked at about 8 places around the city that all sucked. Groaning as enter the truck again both tired of being lead around staged apartments. My stomach grumbles and my feet ache.
"I am hungry"
"Gurl -" Her answer is interrupted by a call coming through the truck speakers.
"It's Mitch, shhh he doesn't know I have his truck" She answered the call after the second ring.
"Hey babe," She answers gleefully.
"Hey, how's your day been looking at places? Who'd you force to go with you?"Mitch's voice cheerful echoes thru the truck.
"I got Amelia too and it was consensual. She's really good at getting out of the shitty apartments it's like her hidden talent. She even stuffed her sweater so she looked pregnant and faked going into labor to get out of the place!" She laughed at the memory. She continues her conversation as we drive thru Toronto trying to find some place to eat.
"Well, I have to head to the rink now. I love you I'll see you later tonight when we get back" Mitch's voice has a sadder note.
"I love you too, Goodluck !" Steph cooed before more goodbyes and they hang up as we arrive at a Denny's in Etobicoke.
"So you're telling me you don't have INSTAGRAM?!!" Steph whisper-yells at the discovery of my lack of social little did she know it's because I am not social at all. We were talking about nothing really but when the subject came up I sheepishly confessed my not having Instagrams or snap chat.
"I'm not social" I tried to shrug off her intense stare. She grabs my phone after making me unlock it. "That is change right now women" her finger flying over the screen of my phone.
"okay, now a name" She sips her ice tea and suddenly grins. Her fingers furiously typing.
"I'm going through your photos hope you don't have nudes" She teased I rolled my eyes and a couple Minutes later she's smiling proudly  handing me my phone
                       @ Mrs.Nobody: :)
"Mrs? I am not married??" I tilt my head in confusion. Steph rolls her eyes
"Well, you're pretty married to the idea that you're nobody" Her words both serious and playful making my cheek flush. Steph's eyes are serious but kind as she holds eye contact.
It was in this moment I decided to stop shying away from friendship and embrace her friendship which springs an idea that makes me annoyed that I didn't think of this sooner.
"I wish I thought of this sooner. I have a couple rooms that I rent out. I guess what happened with my last roommates made me block it out" I face palm. Steph's eyes spark.
"Are you fucking kidding me right now!! We didn't have to go to all the apartments" She fakes anger.
"What happened with your last roommates?" She opened the large can of crazy of my ex-roommates. Her eyes wide her jaw slacked. I go on about why I was so willing to come out today and what's happening in my apartment as we speak.
"That's crazy" She shakes her head.
I nod my phone rings I don't know the number but i answer because it is a local number.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Can I speak to Amelia Ashton?" A male voice asked.
"Speaking," I said slow Steph looking at me weird.
"Hi, I am Toad Bean. I was just going over your email and like to meet with you and discuss the job further with you and test your skill a little bit. How does that sound?" His voice is kind.
"That sounds great" My face breaking out into a huge grin.
"Great are you free Friday afternoon? 3ish?"
"I am"
After more discussion, we set a meeting at the Mastercard center. After I hang up I am practically dancing in my seat.
"I got an interview on Friday!! I might even get the job" I cheered.
"Let's celebrate!" Steph cheered with me. "Let go get some wine and show me your apartment" Steph smiles and we pay and leave to Lcbo.
"I'm sold. I'm moving in right now" Steph said entering my apartment. She does a Cinderella dance around my rustic loft apartment that is freshly cleaned.
"That T.V. Though!" She plops on the couch across my large T.V. I stand at the Kitchen island opening the wine and pouring it.
Handling Steph her glass she's tucked into my new couch with the leaf game on. "I watch every single game, " Steph said not looking away from the screen. "I go to as many home games as possible, Reminds me are you going to Saturday's game?" She turns to me.
"I have never been to a game" I state.
"THE FUCK I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU'RE A FAN?" Steph has a crazed look in her eye.
" I am I swear! have never been able to 1. afford it 2. they're always sold out 3. I was busy" I defended myself.
"Understandable but that's changing right now" She starts rapidly texting on her phone.
"There now we wait"
"For what?"
"For Mitch to read my texts after the game."
"why?"
"Are you slow? So we can get you to Saturday's game!" She cheers.

Throwing Cellphones
Feliciano gets himself a sugar daddy
                                            Warning: This chapter has NSFW
Once again I remind that I update Throwing Cellphones…very late into Monday, but it’s Monday none the less
                                                     Chapter 3
Feliciano received a call only two weeks later, just when he was working on the painting that was last commissioned.
“Pronto?”
“It’s Ludwig."
“Luddy!” Feliciano easily squealed. It was odd for him to receive something from him half way through a month. “Mio dio! How are you? Are you eating? Has work not made you commit a murder?”
Ludwig tried to hide a chuckle, but even Feliciano could feel him smiling through the phone. “I’m well, yes I have, just had a Shepherd’s pie, and although I’m tempted, no, I haven’t killed anybody."
“Good, like I told you, just learn to be patient and give a chance.” Feliciano put his paintbrush down and turned away from the painting to be more focused on the call.
“I keep that in mind, and also, I know that if I get thrown into jail, it means I won’t be able to see you anymore and you lose everything.”
Feliciano giggled and smiled in a way Ludwig just wished he could see.
“So hey, um…” Feliciano could almost see him tapping his fingers nervously against some surface. “What do you think about Berlin?”
“Berlin is the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany,” Feliciano answered like it was part of some test, nervous suddenly at the mention.
“Sehr gut,” he laughed. “But what I mean is, have you ever been interested in going?”
“Somewhat, I admit it has taken my curiosity. Some of my followers are from there and they’re really proud about it.” Feliciano decided to stand to clean some of the brushes.
“Then come with me,” he already decreed, which got Feliciano dropping all his brushes carelessly in the sink.
“To Berlin with you? Why?”
“I have important meetings with government officials. These ones get rather stressful and harsh, and I need someone like you waiting at the hotel to calm me down and relax,”
“Oh…” Feliciano twirled his fingers through his hair and blushed bright red. “But won’t your company mind?”
“No, they were actually the ones who told me I should bring someone with me.”
“Shouldn’t that be for a co-worker?”
“No, they actually thought personal.”
“But…why would they-”
“It’s nothing too think about Feliciano, I’ll pay anything extra…I just want you to be with me.” The sudden low in his tone had Feliciano shivering. He couldn’t deny it, and honestly he was curious about the city, he just hoped Ludwig had time to show him around.
“When then?”
“In three days, I’ll buy you a flight online and send you the rest through e-mail. We’ll meet at the airport.”
“Tha-that’s... a little short notice, I mean, I have to pack, I have to get someone to water the flowers and the orchards while I’m away,”
“Don’t worry, if you start right now I’m sure you’ll have enough time. I have to hang up now, but promise me that you will instantly set on packing, the trip is meant to be a week long.”
“Yes caro, I will."
“All right. Till then, liebling.” And the call was instantly over.
The neighbor that Feliciano had recently befriended had no problem with watering, caring for his plants and watching the house while he was away. He spoke with Antonio on taking him to the airport, his excuse being that the company he had recently been working for sent him to Berlin to get some documentation. He convinced him to keep it a secret from Lovino, and with one last wish of a safe trip from Antonio, he was off riding in first class. A little too much, Feliciano thought since the flight was only meant to last a couple of hours, but that didn’t mean he didn’t indulge in it. They gave him wine and actual plates that looked delicious.
It was his first time arriving alone in an unknown country, so he made it through the airport confused, scared, nervously trying to find the place Ludwig had pinpointed as a meeting. He didn’t find him in front of the book store quickly, and he grew anxious, the echoing of the speaking of this foreign language mocking and baffling him. Maybe he was at the wrong book store? That’s right, maybe he should run off to find…a more secluded one with hopefully Italians in it.
He was gripped suddenly by the shoulders, Feliciano turning ready to swing his bag at the stranger. “Hallo,” Ludwig was there to greet.
“Ludwig!” Feliciano instantly jumped and embraced him tightly, and Ludwig held him with ease, a hand caressing his back and shoulder into calm.
With a kiss to his forehead, he placed him back on the ground, offering to take Feliciano’s bag and holding out his hand for him to take so they could walk together. Feliciano instead wrapped himself completely around Ludwig’s free arm.
They took a taxi to the hotel, a fine one as Feliciano had expected, with a large suite and a clear view to the Brandenburg gate. He felt so out of place, like a speck of dirt that didn’t even deserve his bag thrown on the floors or his own bed. He only wore jeans and a simplistic shirt, walking like a lost child upon carpeted floors, grasping every detail of refinery. Ludwig of course, came in indifferent to the things around him, it was all luxuries he was probably used to seeing already, settling with checking with what the menu held for the day. With the distaste in his face, it meant nothing good. Feliciano settled with gazing to the streets below him, the crowds that settled in front of the gate, the stores and gift shops in the vicinity.
“Do you mind having Greek today?” He asked, sickened of the pamphlet and placing it back in its desk.
“Oh, Greek sounds wonderful.” Feliciano finally dispatched himself from the window.
“I know a place close enough, we can take the train and walk the rest of the way, there are also some stores I’m sure you’ll love, in case you want to buy something." He already began picking the things to leave, taking a small jacket and placing it on Feliciano, the bigger one for himself.
Hand in hand they continued their way. They ate exquisitely, the type of meal that would have Feliciano wanting to sleep quickly, but instead, especially when Ludwig took him to Kurfürstendamm, it gave Feliciano the energy to explore this new area, shops all around with all wonderful items that he pointed excitedly to Ludwig, who had no problem with taking out his credit cards to buy clothes, shoes, jewelry and even gelato for Feliciano (not as good as the ones in Italy, but it was enough). By the time they reached a memorial church that had taken Feliciano’s interest, Ludwig was carrying for him six bags from six different stores, not minding at all, for the wonder in Feliciano’s step, in his eyes, in his finger as he pointed to the historic details in different buildings, street presenters show’s or artworks was worth carrying the heaviest boulders.
Feliciano took out his phone and prepared the camera, shoving it in Ludwig’s already filled hands. “Take a picture of me! Take a picture of me!” He pleaded excitedly, leaving him so he could take an appropriate spot to pose.
Legs parted, a hand on his hip, the other pointing to the sky to who knows what. Ludwig was confused, but he gladly took the pictures, letting Feliciano create different positions, taking the city and making it his own as they walked back to the train station.
“You got the makings for a good photographer, Ludwig, I look amazing in all of these,” Feliciano admired as he scrolled through all the pictures.
“Don’t be foolish, must be the quality of the camera, or that you just look naturally amazing,” he complimented without even noticing, earning an adorable chuckle from Feliciano.
He was hoping to find good filters to upload them that instant, but then a quaint little shop had taken his interest, stopping before it as he lay looking to the glass display. They showed lingerie for both men and women, a particular one capturing his glance, not letting him remove his eyes. Beautiful peach stockings, topped with a lace garter tied with the prettiest bows, the panty practically a G-string if it wasn’t for the lace that joined from the flimsy thing, and finally a lace ribbon wrapped to the side. It would surely be made by the finest fabric since the store looked very luxurious. Feliciano had never seen one for men so beautiful, quite tempted to take for himself and… he turned to Ludwig, who had just stopped midway after noticing Feliciano hadn’t continued with him. He spotted the store and the lingerie Feliciano was looking intently to, walking back to his side, both beginning to feel rather embarassed since they had to stand in front of one so publicly while they watched with another man.
Truth was, Feliciano wanted it, but getting it meant…implications, signs, ones that Ludwig seemed to have understand as they watched it together. Should he? Should he open his mouth and tell him? Would he be ready to give what wearing that meant? He could just tell him that he wanted it for himself, but Ludwig will still ask, Ludwig would surely want it at some point. He knew it was something to give when he agreed to do this, especially when he had been given a house, now a trip to Berlin, and expensive gifts that Ludwig currently held.
“Feliciano…” Ludwig was about to ask, but Feliciano quickly turned away.
“I’m tired.” He gave an exaggerated yawn. “Let’s go back, I want to go to sleep.” He cuddled on his arm and shoulder, falling into such calm that Ludwig though he’d go to sleep right there.
With one last glance to the display, and then organizing the things he held so Feliciano would be more comfortable in the drifting rest in his arm, he lead them back to the hotel.
Two days later and Feliciano watched dreamily as Ludwig prepared his suit for the last round of meetings, eyes gazing to the way it grasped his arms, his legs, clean and pristine, making him proud, powerful, handsome, beautiful, gorgeous- he had to bite his lip to not let a moan escape, his naked legs rubbing and intertwining upon themselves under the blanket. He wanted to straddle that man, suit and all, and never let him leave the room. Ludwig read that intent in his eyes, and it took a lot to not fall back once again to the bed and let them both have their way with each other finally.
“I marked some new places you could visit while I’m at the meeting and left some loose euros if anything. Don’t go to the places I told you and be extra careful."
“I know, you always go through this before you leave. I can deal well by myself."
“It's just in case. I actually worry about you.” He sat at the edge of the bed, forcing himself to only sit, not tempting to lean back on the fine bed with him, ruffled still by their movements of sleep.
Feliciano couldn’t hold himself from his own temptation, sitting up, gentle hands on his shoulders as to not ruin the suit and kissing his cheek sweetly.
“I’ll be arriving later tonight, they invited me to dinner.”
“I’ll be here waiting.” Feliciano traced a single finger over his neck, shoulder and chest.
Ludwig leaned for one last kiss on his forehead, before having to force himself up to leave. As he got his things, coat ready to head out, he took out a cream colored bag Feliciano hadn’t seen before. He placed it on one of the tables, directly towards Feliciano.
“I…” he started nervously, “I want you wearing this when I return.” He only gave Feliciano one quick look, with an arising red on his face before he had rushed out.
Ludwig closed the door behind him, and with distant steps disappearing into the halls of the building, Feliciano knew he was gone. Hesitantly he stood and made his way to the bag, inside a cute little peach colored box with a very light pink ribbon tied around it. For a moment he wondered if it was some expensive chocolate, maybe a coat, maybe some perfumes or- once he lifted the top box, he meet with the very lingerie he had been ogling at two days ago. It was complete with the stockings, the garters, and the panty, neatly folded inside the box that Feliciano thought he couldn’t possibly ruin by taking it out.
He was reminded of what Ludwig told him, finding sense in it, blushing fully as he pushed the box into himself, into an embrace to calm down the sudden delight for this. Despite the shake of nervousness and the blush of fear, there was the prospect of what this could lead to.
Looking about the room, to its beauty, the bags Ludwig had bought for him the last few days, with things he could add upon himself that he knew would give a wonderful touch, he knew the moment was opportune. Ludwig was a wonderful, smart, powerful but kind man that he knew he would have still dated if he had only been working at some run down mechanical shop. He had given him so much, had shown great respect, devotion, loving caresses, and thought of him enough to take him along on this business trip. Repaying it with…this, was only enough.
It had been a long day, one of stress, forming headaches, even continuing in the dinner. When his mind wasn’t busy with formulas, diplomacy, numbers and hoping to not offend people, he would still find a spot for that smile, those brown eyes, those beautiful curls, the darling skin he loved to caress, along with those adorable cheeks. His image was enough to work like a vacation on his mind, to reset, to order, before he turned it completely to work, which only worsened the lines in his face.
The later it became, the more his mind took turns of what Feliciano might perhaps offer for the night, making him tremble and worry that his desire could be easily shown and read by these people.
He ended up coming later from the dinner because suddenly they wanted to join in some flimsy conversations about their own personal matters. Luckily he found time to leave before they questioned him over things he really did not feel comfortable telling about and he wasn’t excited to let other people know. He simply told them what they wanted to hear, what probably his grandfather and father would have liked for him to tell them, and rushed back to his hotel, excited and nervous on what he could possibly meet.
Mercy knew how much he wanted to have Feliciano, how much he dreamed of cradling him naked, leave no spot unexplored, to hear his moans of delight, the ecstasy on his face, of how warm he could feel around him, of their intertwined sweat- but was this what Feliciano even wanted? He heard horrible stories of Sugar Daddies who insisted and deemed their Sugar Babies’ sex necessary, even to the young man or woman’s dislike. He didn’t want it to be like that, he wanted to give Feliciano the chance to feel comfortable with it and would be willing to wait no matter. If it promised them comfort in that aspect, that Feliciano would be looking forward to it no matter the times Ludwig asked him, then he would wait whatever several months necessary. Now that he thought about it, maybe he shouldn’t have told that to Feliciano before leaving, maybe he shouldn’t have insisted and gone along and bought it. He should have given him the option instead of just suddenly ordering it like that. He would understand if he didn’t want to, card key in his hand and preparing his apology in his mind. He swiped it, entered, closed it, turned towards the door as he took his breaths ready to tell him. Decided, he turned once again, heading to the bed.
“Feliciano, I’m sorry that I asked this so suddenly of you, but if you wish to-” Everything he held suddenly dropped to the floor, including his phone, which was worthless when he had this scene before him.
Feliciano did wear the lingerie, the stockings gripping the delicious form of his legs, the garters tied well against his thighs, reaching to the G-string panties- und gott im himmel. Feliciano was showing his backside to him, which meant he had a clear view to his scarcely laced bottom cheeks that seemed to splendor in form. With the add of his legs falling up and down coquettishly, Ludwig swore there was drool falling down from the edge of his lips. The bow was tied at his hips, his playful smile taunting him closer into whatever game he wanted to play.
How could one look so provocative and innocent at the same time?
In order he began to move slowly towards him, Feliciano receiving him in welcome with a turn, where he noticed that he added some of the tight bracelets he bought him, on his wrist and arms, a peach colored choker around his neck, added with a white diamond necklace and finally a flower crown of tea pink roses to complete. With that face alight, with want, legs already spreading for him, Ludwig had gotten a clear message, but his mind still short circuited, not believing that this was real, not some dream of an angel that had come to visit him for the night, no matter how much Feliciano looked like one.
“Uh..I..uh, um, da-uh-ja…”
Feliciano laughed and Ludwig wanted to hide in the bathroom and never come out despite what was presented before him. Finally having reached sitting on the edge of the bed, Feliciano poked him with a clad toe at this waist, until it was enough for him to turn, the opportunity Feliciano needed so he could inch him closer with a wrapping of his legs around his waist, until Ludwig was clearly above him, pressing themselves together in a surprising halt, the only movements being Feliciano’s fingers across his cheeks and jaw.
“You want to tell me something, Luddy?” He smirked, a cute giggle that had Ludwig turned into pudding, hazed mind not being able to form coherent words to respond.
“Yes, um…uh,” he coughed, having to advert his eyes to actually get the words in his mind before he turned to him once again. “A-are you sure you want to do this? I k-know, you’re already wearing this, but I want to be sure that you’re comfortable and that you want this a-as much as I do and we can-we can, uh…” with that smile Feliciano wore, Ludwig found his mind shutting again in order to whatever those lips would tell him.
Feliciano then raised his finger to trace his lips, inching them closer to himself. “I do…” he whispered in acceptance, and if that wasn’t enough, his legs began to move across Ludwig’s back and legs, pushing ever closer to him, into continuing. “I want you, I want you to make love to every single inch of me,” he added a delicious moan and Ludwig couldn’t take it any longer and had finally fallen into the start.
With a hungry kiss, Feliciano threaded his fingers through the back of his hair, messing the gel and beginning to let it fall undone. He moved his hands over the expanse of his back, with the aid of his legs, pushing Ludwig more into a kiss that began the use of tongue, that began the movements of rutting against each other, their erections causing friction through their own kind of fabric. Feliciano helped Ludwig to remove the jacket of his suit, his tie, his shirt, all while still maintaining the hold of their continuous kissing. Wanting to take breath, but not wanting to stop, Ludwig instead changed his kissing to that of his free neck and chest, hands caressing the area along with his mouth, liked if he could tell by Feliciano’s small moans. He spread his legs to give him the more space, but to Ludwig, it was a reminder of that he hadn’t touched yet. His hands caressed at his thighs, legs, leaning down to kiss at the exposed skin, not daring to take off his stockings. He settled with letting his hands traverse all of them, leaving many teasing kisses on his waist, on the dip that lead to the flimsy fabric that covered his bulge. A simple tug and surely it would be off, but he wasn’t allowed for suddenly Feliciano had sat up, wanting to let his hands roam over the chiseled chest, stomach, arms, kissing and licking at his neck as the other had earlier done to him. He moved against him in that romantic sway Ludwig loved, and so let him take control of the caressing and kissing, earning moans from himself in the process. But he wanted to take his helping, so once it had been enough, Ludwig pushed Feliciano once again to the bed, his back to him, another spectacle, and now he could finally take his rear into his hold, leaning to kiss the very dip that then lead to his back, up and down from his rear to his neck, Feliciano arching to guide him in where to kiss, where to hold.
While he kissed his tousled hair, minding not to drop the flower crown, which smelled just as delicious as Feliciano, Ludwig’s hand searched through one of the bags he had on the floor. He had bought it recently just in case, an expensive bottle of lube, and a pack of condoms. He did not want to remove that panty that settled against Feliciano’s ass perfectly, but at the same time, he did not want to ruin it. Reluctantly he had to take it off, slowly, letting the fabric bring Feliciano a new sense of anxiousness as he felt it rub against the expanse of his legs until it was off, thrown to some spot of the room. Ludwig rubbed the now naked area to bring Feliciano to calm, leaning to kiss his neck and cheeks while he took out the lube from its box, opening and drenching the necessary fingers in it. Distracted in the feel of his bottom cheeks, he rubbed them with the substance, relishing in the softness, before he knew he had to dip into that tiny hole that still stood, wanting his attention. He tested a single finger, slowly, caringly, but it still earned winces from the other.
“Ha-have you done this before?” Ludwig found himself asking.
Feliciano nodded, “it’s just been a long time.”
“Feliciano, really, I can stop if you don’t want to."
“No, no, no, no,” he begged, raising his ass to meet with that finger that had suddenly halted, forcing it to a delicious move. “Ludwig, I really want this,” he moaned breathlessly, enough of a sign for Ludwig to continue, to add the second finger, quickened then, in a way that had Feliciano gripping to the sheets, screaming wonderfully as his hips continued to thrust along with his fingers for more. Ludwig heightened the heat to the point that Feliciano didn’t even feel as a third finger was added, Ludwig busy with the speed and friction, and the kisses upon his back and neck.
“Dio, dio, dio, dio, dio, ci sono quasi, ci sono quasi!” He screamed, his arch and the grip he had on the sheets intensifying.
Ludwig would have continued, he didn’t understand what he said no matter how beautiful it sounded, and it only dawned on him with a specific moan and a distinguished thrust what it was that he meant. He stopped suddenly like it was a burn, leaving Feliciano to relax, to breath, his mind and eyes still wandering with the just felt pleasure. Ludwig had him turn to better relax, to breathe into the room, to prepare himself for what was coming next.
Ludwig began to unbuckle his belt, unbutton his pants, pulling them off along with his underwear, all going slowly in Feliciano’s mind, until he was bare and his erection stood proudly before his stomach. Feliciano already winced at the starting pain it would give him, for what it didn’t have in length, he had in thickness, but there was nothing else he wanted more inside him at the moment.
He wanted to grab it, lick and suck it until he would have Ludwig undone, but the chance would present itself another time, now, Feliciano could plainly read in Ludwig’s eyes that there was something specific he wanted, and knowing that the other had finally relaxed enough, he would be aiming for it. Understanding, Feliciano spread his legs the more open. Still looking as divinely with those stockings, that jewelry, and that flower crown. Ludwig headed for it, taking his place between those heavenly legs, arms posted on the side of his head, face above his own, their breaths of sudden nervousness mixing.
“Ha-have you-you done this?” Feliciano was as curious, watching as Ludwig now drenched his length in lube in a tight hold, pointing it to his opening and settling it there for now. He looked down to him then, in a loving gaze that had Feliciano falling momentarily, hand raising to play with the lengths of his hair that fell on his forehead, moving it to the side to have a clearer look at his beautiful blue eyes.
“It-it’s my first time.” He reddened the more, and Feliciano was actually surprised. Ludwig was so handsome, much older, he thought he gained the experience with those extra years. Yet he liked that he would be his first, smiling and now letting his arms wrap around his neck, caressing, the smile spreading to the blonde’s lips as he settled with him in a more comfortable position, looking down the place his penis still stood close in waiting for the warmth it wanted.
“I’m honored,” Feliciano whispered sweetly, and Ludwig just had to make him finally his.
He began entering, already both letting groans escape, intensifying and lowering down to moans the deeper Ludwig went. With his full sheathed, they both let out an intense breath of relief to know that they were finally like this together, to feel new heights of pleasure, to roll their eyes in the want of more, in a time that Ludwig did not waste. With a kiss, he began his thrusting, slow, for he noticed how Feliciano winced from time to time, the same pace until his expression shone with pleasure, eyes closed, mouth opened, his hold around his neck tighter. He could feel in them his want to go faster, and so he did, given more moans, more screams, the feeling of the fabric of his stockings around his waist as Feliciano pulled him deeper and quicker. He wanted to be gentile, he wanted to be soft, but his own want, Feliciano’s insisting, and the friction that united them made it die down until Ludwig gave up to be as feral as he wanted. Feliciano screamed the more, arched wonderfully, a space now for Ludwig’s hand to caress, raising him slightly as he brought him down in his hardened thrusts continuously, the other stroking Feliciano's erection between them.
“Si sente bene così! Si sente bene così!” Feliciano shouted, all translations lost, he didn’t have it in him to think in another language when he was being pummeled magnificently, hands all over him, kisses against his neck. Feliciano pulled harder in the hold he had of his hair, a pain that had Ludwig smirking, his licks turning into bites, his thrusts becoming harder, earning more shouts, more scratches, more sways, more returns of the onslaught of his hips.
They both wished desperately it could last the whole night, that they could have the bed shaking, in the tangled mess of their blankets, but it had a finale, it had a fall that came on them in pleasurable shivers and howling shouts. With Feliciano’s release covering both their stomach as proof of what just occurred, Feliciano fell down the bed, exhausted but also sated, an enchanting smile on his lips, an ethereal glow that Ludwig had to fall into and join in as well. Breathing heavily against his skin, he lay next to him, rolling off the condom and throwing it off in the nearest trash can with accurate precision. It was impressive, but Feliciano was too tired to congratulate him or holler.
Any other and Ludwig would have pushed the person off the bed if they dared place their arms over him to worsen the sweat they were covered with, but when Feliciano did, he rubbed his own hands on him to get him closer, to let him rest fully against his chest, with the softness of the flower crown, the stockings that he still rubbed against his own legs, a smile on him that was enough to make Ludwig feel like he had been successful.
He wrapped his arms around him in welcome to this sleep, with expectations to the next morning.

How much should i get for my car from insurance?
Before owning my car it was rear ended and received a reconstructed title. It is a 97 Honda Hatch Back. I'm curious as to how much value insurance will see as lost on the car due to the reconstructed title, though even though it was restored to near perfect condition. I was in stop and go traffic yesterday and the car behind me didn't realize all the cars had stopped, he hit me doing roughly 45, my car was pushed into another car and it's definitely totaled at this point. Is there a set percentage they deduct if you have a reconstructed title?""
Pregnant? Health Insurance?
My bf and I have been intimate for the past almost 3 years, which is how long we've been together, we've only used protection a few times. I have been on BC for the past year to a year and a half, it's the generic for Tri-Nessa. About 2 weeks ago, maybe a little longer than that, I quit the BC and we had unprotected sex for maybe 3 days in a row and he came inside of me, on the third day after we had finished I got cramps in my lower back which usually is how my cramps feel a day or two before I get my period but I also had very light bleeding and the next day it had gotten heavier and lasted a couple days. Now this was no where near the date I'm supposed to get my period, which I thought was weird. I took three pregnancy tests but they were all negative, then again I took them way too soon. I have a appt with my obgyn on Monday. Also, ive been feeling sluggish, not wanting to move much, when I sit down on the couch its like i cant get comfortable and my side like cramps up. Opinions? About insurance, I'm on insurance with my mom because she has food stamps and gets a disability check, so I have united health care insurance through her. I dropped out of school, dumb decision, I know, but I found a babysitting job and I get paid $150 a week. So they didn't put me in the school program at welfare. Now my insurance will run out in August when I turn 18 so if I find out I'm pregnant would they give me and the baby free insurance? My sister just had her third and she plus my nephew had both received free Medicaid. She's 28 so does free insurance differ by age? Since she's 28 and I'm 18 is she eligible for it because she's older or am I eligible as well? My bf and I have been busting our asses looking for jobs and he's signed up for The National Gaurd. We've been together way too long and he is very happy whether I am pregnant or not, he's a good man. I don't give a crap about any rude comments or opinions, I am just looking for advice from girls with experience.""

Best motorcycle insurance for me?
I was wondering what would be the best motorcycle insurance for someone like me. I'm 18, in the military, zero credit. I ride a 2011 ZX6r (sport bike). I'm SUPER busy ALL THE TIME so I really only plan on putting around 5-7k miles on the bike over the next couple of years just riding around for fun on the weekends. A lot of people suggest USAA because I'm in the military but those people don't ride bikes, and it seems like everybody I have heard of who has USAA motorcycle insurance grossly overpays. I have done a little research and it seems like the general consensus is that motorcycle insurance is the worst service (among some very good ones) that USAA offers.""

SR22 Insurance?
My 22 yr old sons car was repossessed. He cancelled his car insurance policy since he no longer owns a car. He was required to carry an SR22 because of a bad driving record. The California DMV will suspend his license if he does not have proof of car insurance. Hes not driving and plans to not own a vehicle for the next 6 months. How does he meet the California DMV requirements without purchasing a car insurance policy? Also, if were able to get an older vehicle and get liability insurance only on it and add the SR22 can it satisfy the California DMV? My son is desperately trying to clean up his driving record too. Even if literally purchases an older vehicle and never drives it just to meet his DMV requirement. Will his past actions of too many tickets and accidents ever stop haunting him? Finally, his car was stolen in mid 2013. The car was reported stolen and it was eventually recovered and the insurance did repair significant damages does this also count against his driving record? The damage to the vehicle all occurred after it was stolen. I'm sorry I have so many questions I'm just at a loss. I need to get him back on his feet within a year but I need to know he will be able to drive too. He realizes now he messed up. He's got a great job and makes good money but I want to make sure that these past mistakes do not haunt him forever. The good news is there are no DUI's or reckless driving. Thanks for any help!""

The insurance company are taking forever and a day to sort it out and they haven't even looked at the damage to my car yet, I have only sent pictures as I am awaiting liability from the third party. Thanks""
Why the difference in Insurance availability between developing countries vs. industrialized nations?
Why has insurance traditionally been more common in industrialized nations, and why is it uncommon/not possible for people in developing worlds to have insurance? At first I thought it was simply because insurance is not affordable by people in developing countries, but maybe there are other reasons?""

Please don't give me websites, I would actually like a figure without inputting a ton of information into an untrustworthy site. I'll give 10 points to the best answer. Rant
So, a few bad things happened. This is a blog, so I’m using it as a makeshift diary.
The first project meeting came and went.
It was a barely salvaged disaster. The boss and the director were the leads. My job here as coordinator was just to get people places, do the advertising bits, gather the documentation and signatures, and to translate. The program was not up to me. At all.
Firstly, several delegations were late. We started two hours late, and the introductions were way too long. Three people didn’t show, beacuse their delegation had car trouble and had to buy last minute plane tickets, so they could only send two. One delegation had to leave in the middle of the event, because the death of a family member and them all coming by one car. Three left early, before the final evaluation that was in the projec recs. The expert speaker we hired didn’t speak about European Union at all, another requirement unfulfiled.
The program was shitty. Too long, too strict. I spent overtime translating everything and then the boss who was leading them around and talking didn’t stick to the script - She insisted on giving the tour in the native language with simultanious translations. And then the other guide that was supposed to read the translations had to do on the spot translating, taking twice as long since her English was halting. People spent an entire day  having to just listen to her. Everyone was exhausted and bored. In the evening, thank witchever deity intervened, a lady said she was quitting the program rather than be ordered around on how to do the project in own home area. There was backpeddaling, and we could actually sit down and talk  awhile, so some work was actually done, because a huge part of the project is intercultural dialogue i.e. people talking and exchanging opinions, not just listening to someone explain what they should think and feel by someone else.
The educational move was blatanty disrespectful, a feature I tried to raise several times during the making of  - and was shushed down and told it was fine because it was art and it artistic interpretation, you wouldn’t know, you’re not an artist. (actual words: I know what I wanted to say so please just do what I tell you because I have no intention to listen to you and argue) The participants pointed it out, of course. We had two actual persons from the places and cultures mentioned, misrepresented, and insulted, and the boss and the director had to actually listen. I jwanted to die when we sat down watching it. I kept thinking I was an enabler and shared the guilt, because I falied to get the point across.
And today. fucking today. the boss finally ancknowledges the film is problematic  AS IF IT’S NEWS TO ME. LIKE I DIDN’T TRY TO TELL HER THAT AT LEAST ON FIVE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.
And she said she knows it’s true because it’s backed by the research done by the camera-man. Who, I’d just like to point out, didn’t have an entire course on migrations and global politics.
And then she denied I ever said anything about it, and implied that I can’t know anything she doesn’t because she has an anthropology and ethnology degree. Also, she said she’d wanted to take the anthropological approach to researching the topic from the beginning. And I’m standing there, literally biting my tongue, screaming on the inside: NO, YOU DIDN’T. YOU WROTE A BAD SCRIPT WITH NO REAL RESOLUTION, NO VERSIMILITUDE, NO RESEARCH ABOUT THE TOPIC, OR INTO THE POLITICAL SITUATION OR ANY FUCKING RESEARCH INTO WHAT ACTUAL REFUGEES SAID ABOUT THE PROCESS OF FLEEING AND IMMIGRATING. YOU PUT WORDS IN THEIR MOUTHS TO MAKE A FUNNY PLAY WHICH WAS TURNED INTO A MOVIE THAT WAS EVEN MORE CULTURALLY MISREPRESENTATIVE AND INSENSITIVE. WE HAVE PEOPLE THAT FLED WAR 20 YEARS AGO A PHONE CALL AWAY. YOU COULD JUST ASK THEM AND YOU DIDN’T BECAUSE YOU KNOW BEST, DON’T YOU? BEACUSE GOOD INTENTIONS AND ARTISTIC LICENSE MEAN IT’S FINE TO MAKE REAL PERSON FICTION LIKE THAT. LIKE THAT’S NOT ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM.
Of coure, since I’m a glutton for pain, I opened my fa mouth and very politely said that wasn’t exactly true. And got shut down again. Cause - ‘We weren’t trying to make a documentary, It didn’t need to be accurate.’ ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? IT WILL BE TAKEN AS SUCH, IT’S PRESENTED AS SUCH, ARE YOU SERIOUS?
...Gaslighting is really the worst thing about this job.
The shit you’ll swallow for money... and to not argue with the person holding your contract. Even if they display a pathological inability to admit they were right or are willing to learn anything that doesn’t fit their world-view.
But hey, we’re re-filming it, so maybe it will be salvaged as just a shitty short film instead of an insulting one! And the next few events are not in her organization in any shape or form, so I can work something out with the organizers to get the requirements of the project we were supposed to do fulfilled there. And the camera-man actually acknowledges I know what the hell I’m talking about, so he asked for some info on the down-low. At this point the best I can do for this project is to give up on being acknowledged as a (sociologist that knows something more than the boss about this topic) and try to salvage it in that way.
After all , the hired coordinator is a roadie, not a band-member.
But shit, I thought these were good smart people.
In slightly lighter news, a co-worker left the terarium for the snakes open just enough that the snake could leverege it open and go eat the gerbils. Yeah. And they were such sweeties, too... Not fully grown and so smol, really tame and cuddly. The’d go and nuzzle and nibble your fingers if you just reached your hand in. So now there’s no gerbils and the snake is too freshly fed to use in the mini-zoo.
And I’m an abbetor to fucking misrepresentation.
But fuck if I’m letting this lie.
The goal is salvage by subterfuge. Wish me luck.
