A small headcanon I have:

When Oscar and Pim were distant friends (aka: oomfs), there was a time were they thought about going from writing and sending stuff to going online; it was more because of how experimental the technology was really, if we're talking about the early 2000s.

Sadly, Oscar didn't had a computer, and while Pim's family had one... it was used by everyone and pretty much overflowed with "God knows what" stuff. So they ended up resolving to staying as Pen Pals.
