The war was swayed when Blue Lions reunited. A Blue Lion joining another on the battlefield was a death knell for the enemy. Three Blue Lion minds together could protect a city from siege. And when they were all together -
When they were together.
Excited to post this one. It was a bit of a hard write, so I wonder if it'll be a hard read as well. I would also say that Part 1 is honestly a set up for the major divergence point that makes this AU an AU, which occurs in this chapter. 'What if Byleth had a super bad dream' wasn't quite the premise of the AU. Excited to know what you guys think!

How to Design a Large Cast of Characters
Note: While this advice can be applied to all forms of fiction writing, I will be primarily focused on helping you design casts of *playable* characters for games similar to Fire Emblem or other SRPGs. Also, this is mostly going to be the weird ramblings explaining how I personally design large casts, so if these tips don't work for you, don't worry about it.
Something you should know about me is... I love a large cast of characters. Specifically in games like FE. I love looking into the lives of the units who I use in battle and watching them grow stronger, and watching their character arcs. If their villains or otherwise important characters, I love seeing how they influence the narrative outside of my influence and how they can aid or help the main party.
For anyone who's designing games with large playable casts of fun characters or making a large cast for any other project, I feel like this guide will help you a lot.
Step 1: Make Some Characters
This is the easiest step, at least for me. Take a world that you made, and think about characters you want to use for this world. Main characters, side characters, villains, etc.
They do not have to be the most fleshed out, at least at the beginning. They can be a concept you think would be neat for this world to explore. They could be simple concepts you'd want to write or neat ideas you think would be fun to design. Hell, it could even be a character from a story that either died or got cut.
Step 2: Cut and Assign Roles
For this step, you must have a set number of characters you want to have in your playable main cast. For Fire Emblem games, this number usually ranges around 30-40.l playable units.
About now, you should also begin to flesh them out, making them more than just concepts.
You must also consider the themes and world of your story. Who in your list of characters could best explore those themes in some way. Note that not every character has to be important to the plot or masterfully explore the themes of the game.
Once you've gotten a range of main/playable characters, pick the best ones, or thr ones you like the most, and bench the others, and congrats, you have yourself a cast of good guya. Do the same for some of the NPCs or villains, but on a smaller scale, and you have a pretty good list of characters.
Step 3: Make Them Interact
There is one major problem with making large casts...and that is that they are large. There are a lot of characters you must keep an eye on, and they should all do something in the story.
If you focus ONLY on the main character(s), you risk making the characters bland, boring plot devices, or meatshields that add nothing to the story. On the other hand, if you write all characters as if they are important, you risk bloating your story with names and dialog and making the story take too long.
Important characters should be in the spotlight most of the time, but it I'd a good idea to spread it around. Show how some of the more minor characters feel about this situation, maybe have them talk with each other outside of danger, give them relationships with each other. Give em enough for people to want to latch on to

i have a proposition to make to the fire emblem fandom in regards to ai bullshit: we makalov the face of the anti-ai movement depending on how different systems are set up, be it for those who write, those who draw, etc, there are likely ways to rig the system to overload the systems with specific things which is why i suggest we use makalov for this those who have played the tellius duology know he isnt exactly the greatest guy, and also know that mod goldmary seems to be the exception not the rule when it comes to how people view him as a character, so when people try to cheat by using stolen work feed to an ai to create some garbage about fire emblem? they can never escape that piece of shit no matter how hard they try, they'd be lucky if they even see marth no idea if it still applies but i know tumblr had it set up where each specific blog and side blog needed to go into settings to disable ai feeding, if that is still the case then it should be easy to just create a side blog just for the purposes of fucking with the systems when it comes to art just go nuts, don't have any specific things aside from putting so much makalov dna into the system that it thinks fire emblem lords have pink hair instead of blue, maybe purposefully fuck up the hands and other limbs and whatnot so they can never fully fix that issue meanwhile for writing, oh boy i got ideas, smut writers this is your time to shine! make the most nasty vile shit imaginable(while still being legal ofc just gross) and always include makalov in it, heck maybe mess the system up by ruining the lore on purpose and putting him in games he's not supposed to be in, want to have an ai write a fanfiction about awakening? too bad you lazy sack of shit you'll never escape this pink haired horse man no matter what timeline you try seeing as the purpose of these writings is to mess up any bot trying to create fanfiction this also means those who are horrible when it comes to writing can also join in! purposefully misspell and misuse words, throw proper grammar out of the window, and act like this is just how human language naturally works! also those who are good at writing can also purposefully not write good, though as a writer myself i know that is easier said then done at this point, it isn't meant to be posted to your main accounts but rather an extra expendable account just made for the purposes of ruining ai for fire emblem, or if we're lucky ai in general! tl;dr: it would be really fucking funny if this wretched bastard of a man named makalov became known for being the anti-ai symbol of the fandom
Terrible idea. There's already hundreds of thousands of fe images and fanfics in their database, a few pieces of makalov art and fics will not change much. Also making stuff specifically to ruin ai is just not a smart idea. Make something bc you enjoy it instead.
I know you mean well, but please do proper research before you suggest something like this :(
If you really wanna troll with makalov, then join the makasweep for cyl9 and vote for makalov!

Fic Writer Interview
Thank u @plusultraetc for the tag wheeeeee
How many works do you have on AO3?
8️⃣
What's your total AO3 word count?
251,850, 150k of which is one fic lmao
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Nine Lives, by an order of magnitude over 2nd place
Naruhata Noir
A Tumultuous Sea, You and Me (the mer-pirates fic)
Being No One, Going Nowhere (the 2 broken arms fic)
waiting on the seasons to change, waiting for the curtain to fall (the fortuneteller fic)
I am surprised to see the 2 broken arms fic in the top 5 tbh!
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I like to get responses to my own comments, so I try to reply to everyone's comments :]
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Uhhhhh PROBABLY 9L since it ends with everyone going off to war haha oopsie
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
Uhhhhhh probably merpirates? It's really gross and sappy. Dive into the ocean and kiss a mermaid in front of your entire crew. The 2 broken arms fic also got a pretty happy ending (Aizawa goes to bed and also maybe jerks it a little)
Do you write crossovers?
Not crossovers per se but I do enjoy a deep in the weeds AU
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I don't think so? The worst I get is people saying "wow almost no typos" which is very tame lmao
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not yet! Kintsugi (the epilogue to 9L) will have some mild spice but I'm at a point in my life where I just couldn't be jazzed to write folks doing it sloppy style
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so except for that website that's scraped like a ton of fics a few months back
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I had one person request to translate 9L into Ukranian, though I never saw if they ended up doing it. Recently I've also had a couple people leave comments in Spanish so I assume they translated the story into Spanish somehow!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
The unpublished FFXII AU is partially co-written by Robbirdthe8th, but it's been parked for like a year and a half. Also I would be remiss to omit @kyurilin who might as well get bonus credits for the Nutstang
What's your all-time favorite ship?
I have been in fandom spaces for over a decade YOU CAN'T JUST MAKE ME CHOOSE A SINGLE ALL-TIME FAVORITE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. Perhaps a low-commitment list of OTPs from across the years:
Erasermic (obviously)
Edwin (FMA)
Netteflix (FE3H)
Asanoya (HQ!!)
Kanej (6 of Crows)
Yuchi (FB)
Asucaga (MSGS)
Soukana (FMP)
Maiko (ATLA)
Hanvi (DB)
Nejiten (Naruto)
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Probably any of the Fire Emblem or Fruits Basket fics I started drafting in 2020/2021 before I figured out how to write fic lol
What are your writing strengths?
People tell me I am good at characterization! I think I'm also good at describing a setting, a skill that I exercise often in my technical writing.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Exposition, my nemesis. A necessary evil, but it's like pulling teeth, every time.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Short answer: I just. Don't.
Longer answer: I think there's a time and place for it, and I've seen both well-executed and clunky ways of doing it. I've never seen a need for it yet in anything I've written.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
BNHA was the first fandom I published anything for, though honourable mention goes to Fruits Basket and FE3H for convincing me that I can tell my own stories (and then get stuck trying to figure out how to write fiction woops).
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
Idk man I'm just vibing in my lane of erasermic et al right now
What's your favorite fic you've written?
Listen it's gotta be 9L. This fic is the reason I have made so many friends in this community. People have drawn fanart for it (one of which now lives permanently on my desk in the form of a mousepad, thank u Dragon). It is the story that got me into writing fic because it was a story that nobody else was telling, so I wrote the story that I wanted to read.
People still get to the endnotes on 9L and are like THIS IS YOUR FIRST FIC???? and yeah. I started writing fanfiction at the tender age of 28 and the first thing I decided was worth sharing is still my magnum opus. Anyone can write fic! Find a writer whose style you like, emulate it, and write the story you want to read. It's that simple.
#Machiwrites#i am gonna be lazy with tagging folks#do you write and want to talk about your shiz? do this#i am also going to assault your dash by not putting this under a cut#ITS NOT THAT MUCH SCROLLING

got two questions, what fandoms are you willing to write for?
The second one Is a request, can I have jack the Ripper and qin shi huang (seperate) plus with anyone of ur choice with a gn!reader who is the goddess of fear and nightmares but aslo sleep , they're really tired and intimidating, one look into her eyes and you will experience hallucinations , they fight in record of ragnarok and has a really fast beat time , they don't know how the managed to find a love interest but they're happy with jack and Qin shi huang
Hi to you!
To answer your question,I write for: Twisted wonderland/ Arcane and League of legends / Overwatch/ Lies of P / Devil May cry 5/ Record of Ragnarok/Honkai Star Rail / Reverse 1999 / Fire emblem Fates/3houses/Awakening/ Zenless Zone Zero and Jujutsu Kaisen.
I know they're a lot. Maybe I should take off a couple from the list 😅
Now,onto the request!
JACK,QIN AND HERACLES WITH A NIGHTMARES!GODDESS READER
Jack's life had no shortage of horrible events, plus he was a killer. Nothing scared him. Life never gave him nightmares, and neither did them he was happy to be around that force of nature. That aura color was pure art for him. So dark, like the void, dragging people in and tormenting them. He found that tired and calm personality of his liking. His life was a rollercoaster and having you to ground him was bliss, just what he wanted.
-Qin never fell for the dark, for the nightmares, the creepy stuff and the torment. He felt the presence of them but the bandage on his eyes was a shield. As long as he had it on he was fine. The goddess still found happiness, a common ground where both could live in peace. From them, he learned to take it easy a bit, happy to know that his partner doesn't mind sharing their powers.
Heracle is the perfect lover for a powerful being like them. He's a ray of sunshine and he's not scared of them, no matter how intimidating they might look the demi-god saw the good in them. He might look naive but his heart is big and pure, breaching the darkness of his brooding partner. The goddess might not like to admit it but sleeping by Heracle's side is the best feeling.

Incidental Tinies
A g/t concept we all use (mostly in daydreams) but rarely discuss!
G/t is kinda unique in that it can tell any story it wants and still fit the trope. Even if that story is mainly happening to someone else!
You can have a huge epic story with an ensemble cast of 30+ characters...But the entire story is told from the perspective of a tiny that they happened to pick up along the way!
This tiny may not actually... do anything in the plot/story. Their entire contribution to the epic world-saving quest could just be moral support. Maybe they act as a "therapy tiny" helping the others through their panic attacks and PTSD or simply acting as a stim. Regardless, the main cast of characters adore their tiny friend. Even if they get totally left out of serious plot-heavy moments.
This means that you can have all of the soft, fluffy interactions without trying to revolve the entire story around size stuff. And by telling it from the perspective of a tiny, you ensure that all interactions are still g/t (even if the conversation and drama is about humans)
You may be thinking "That seems really specific, I don't think we all use this trope. You're exaggerating"
...Okay but have you ever added a borrower OC to an existing story like Fire Emblem or Genshin Impact? Hell, it doesn't even need to be an OC. Just take any beloved side character or NPC that doesn't do much in the source material, shrink 'em down and have them ride along for original plot! You've probably created an "incidental tiny" without really thinking about it!
But the dynamic should absolutely be discussed and explored!! I think there are three main reasons it works so well:
A tiny can be a proxy for home: If the heroes go into a dangerous situation, they likely won't willingly bring the tiny. But now they have a helpless little friend waiting back at the camp/base for everyone! And if their day isn't dangerous, just stressful? A character might come back, kick off their shoes, and start petting the tiny to themselves calm down.
It leads to size-angst as a B-Plot: Sure, the main story may be about a band of misfits trying to solve some problem. But if the tiny doesn't play an active role? They might start to feel useless. Because when things get serious? all they can do is watch... Or maybe the tiny gets hurt! And one of the main characters becomes very overprotective! To the point where they try to control or cage the tiny for their safety. Or what if the heroes realize that the tiny is actually in more danger with them, than they would be out in the wild? There are so many ideas to explore and the Tiny's lack of agency only enhances them, not detracts. Of course, this angst would happen alongside the main story (and likely at the worst possible time)
It's just easier to write: I love g/t fics, and there are many incredible fics where the entire story comes from the size dynamic. But I think we can all agree: it's much easier to write an engaging story if you have another, more flexible, plot that you can shift over to when the story needs conflict and intrigue. In the case of "incidental tinies"? You have the main plot, then the slice-of-life and/or size-angst.
Sorry for the long post, but I feel like this is one of those g/t tropes everyone knows about, but no one every talks about.

man... the attention I get from htgha is super low, I only have somewhere between two and five dedicated readers. and like, yeah I've been on a multi month hiatus, maybe I'd have more readers if I posted biweekly still, but I wouldn't bet on it.
so while I get the whole "lack of engagement kills fanfic writers" and I do sympathize, if I was doing it for engagement I would never have started writing. all of the fanfic writing I've done (except for a h*rry p*tter au in 2014 (dead to me) and a bnha au in 2020 (also lost interest)) has been for a single, tiny friend group or fandom group where participation is... just part of the game.
I don't care if strangers don't see or don't like or don't comment on my fic, I have the gift recipient and my beta reader and the three or four people I brainstorm or gush over fic ideas with and my college friend who isn't in any of my fandoms but is "good at inferring what fandom-specific things mean".
I'm not saying everyone should be happy with such a thing. but back in 2013 when I was trying to publish a fire emblem fic series and writing my first awkward attempt at smut on fanfiction.net, I would always check the engagement graphs and comments — but them going up didn't make me feel happy, it made me anxious. like it gave me stage fright. that's what really made me abort most of my series.
so I know it's a me thing and isn't the norm, but I've always felt a lot more at home discussing fic with friends than receiving engagement from strangers. if I want to ever be a successful novelist I'm gonna have to get over that. but for now as long as I have one person to talk about my fic with, I'm happy.

Okay, so this post was brought to my attention and I considered at first, if I really want to react to it. On one hand I think it warrants a rebuttal and is a peak example of the general lesbophobia not only general fandom but also some queer men like to perpetuate, on the other hand I also originally didn't want to engage with his blogger anymore. For added context, Gascon is a blogger/youtuber who openly on this very websites has made some troublings statements and admissions leaning into the direction of Incest and Necrophilia. I will not go into further into detail about it, but it somewhat leaned into Lily Orchard levels of fucked up. And to rub salt in the wound, when I tried towarn people on the Edelcrit side of this guy and his takes, they immediately jumped into his defense and framed me as the bully here. Among other things, like very stupid and fucked takes which I personally don't stand behind anymore and which I did during a time when my mental health was on a really deep low, was why I took a break from Tumblr in the first place.
But yeah, at the risk of this firing back at me, I decided to make a blogpost engaging with his post. I'm a random nobody on this site, but I've noticed that at least some people seem to be interested in my takes and I consider a rebuttal to his takes important enough, as it goes into typical misogynistic and lesbophobic attitudes inside this particular fandom, but also fandom in general. So lets begin:
Initial ask and to be more of help than Gascon, the answer is yes. Naturally lesbians are wrong to be drawn towards a complicated and nuanced canonically queer female lead character with strong themes of abuse, vilification and loss of bodily autonomy, who tries to uproot an opressive social system that affects women in particular, duh. They should center their attention on a white man, of course. Didn't you know that good lesbians are supposed to produce male on male porn? Skits over, in all seriousness, whoever this anonymous is, if you ever read this: You're a fucking dipshit, what kind of asshole even asks a cis gay man whether or not lesbians and sapphic people should be allowed to like a female character. What a fucking imbecile.
He really had it with the first sentence, lol. I guess every dog has its day, but then he fucks it up. Though I somewhat doubt he is sincere here, considering my actual experiences with the f!Edeleth fandom, it really sounds more as a set up to weaponize and distract from the topic and push his male chauvinism and misogyny under the guess of feminism. First off, 3 Houses isn't mostly written by Intelligent Systems. Secondly, the issue lies in the fact that people like Gascon don't criticize misogynistic aspects in Edelgards character and writing which hurt her as a character, he is using performative feminism to instead bash aspects of the characters usually praised and appealing to queer women and feminist fans, as well as marginalize sapphic themes inside the game. Gascon is not only deeply fucked up according to some of his public tumblr posts which are visible to anyone, he is also just a plain hack. No civility politics from me here. This guy is practically the James Somerton of Fire Emblem Discourse, minus the plagiarism...maybe, don't know. But lets move on, just keep the reference to James Somerton in your mind for maximum entertainment.
Here is where things finally start to go down the gutter, rather early, by him already already attempting to dominish and marginalize the sapphic aspects of these games by chalking them down to male gaze titulation or flat comic relieve, while elavating the m/m subtext of his personal favs, Catherine and Shamir being the sole exception who he treats as the good token lesbians of the story, probably due to the attachment with the church of seiros, which he is super defensive and apologetic about, to my knowledge due to his own romanticization of patriachal concepts of chivalry which it supports and his catholic nationalism which I still clearly remember, trying to contextualize catholics as somewhat the most marginalized group in all of society.
I draw the connection to James Somerton, because ultimately his offhand misogynistic and lesbophobic attitudes combined with his androcentrism and male homosexual chauvinism feels just very reminiscent of him, Gascon falling into this trend of cis gay men who always push forward to center themselves and their identity in LGBTIQ+ advocacy and visibility, in what I call gay male main character syndrome. It plays into an undeniable history of cisgender queer men imposing male chauvinism and patriachal androcentrism into the LGBTIQ+ movement, pushing forward primarily their visibility while having historically contributed to the marginalization and invisibility of both cisfemale and trans queer people in broader society. I've seen another post of his where he gets somewhat pissed about anti-fujoshi discourse, one that is currently inside fandom explicitely pushed by sapphic women who are fed up with the andocentrism and male glorification inside fandom at the expense of sapphic characters and relationships which remain marginalized, with the self-serving comment revealing that his position is primarily founded in him being a beneficiary of the androcentrism and and female margilanization inside fandom. Though discussing all of this would probably go too far for this blog post, maybe I will come back to it later.
Whats clear is that Gascon here, to begin with the easy part, knows shit and makes just blanket uninformed statements about Fire Emblem 3 Houses development process and houses, as he credits IS for its writing, when the main scenario writers all were Koei Tecmo employees, 3 Houses being a collaborative Intelligent System and Koei Tecmo project and FEW3H being full on a Koei Tecmo game. They reference and build on older Fire Emblems, especially the Kaga era of Fire Emblem, alot but the game is mostly by a different company. And while it is not the team that developed the Fodlan Games, as a Studio Koei Tecmo actually as quite the history of including Yuri-Subtext into their games, especially Team Gust, which has titles like Atelier, Nights of Azure and Blue Reflection under their belt. So as a Company, Koei Tecmo is already an entire different beast and it really shows with 3 Hopes, that really ramps up the queer subtext or outright text alot compared to 3 Houses. Gascon is talking with alot of authority on the subject matter, yet displays not having done much research in who even developed and wrote these games. And going back into it, he again argues from a very dismissive and somewhat lesbophobic position of trying to play down sapphic subtext and text, especially as presented inside the Black Eagles. Is Monicas obsessive love for Edelgard often played for comedy? Yes, of course, many aspects of the game are played for comedy, even Dedues role as Dimitris caretaker is often played up from this angle. Is it it treated at her expense? Not really? Monicas Love and Loyalty for Edelgard have often a comedic undertone, mostly by being set up for jokes centering her photographic memory and Edelgard being overwhelmed, but they are also never mocked by the narrative and played as genuine, their support ends in appreciation for Monica. I think his own loathing towards sapphic characters and bias against Edelgard and possibly the black eagles (who are understood as somewhat of the gay house of the game) comes into play here. Monica does suffer alot from Hopes lack of supports and not having pre-existing Houses supports, which makes it rather unfair to compare her to Dedue, who benefits from Houses bigger library of Support.
As I mentioned in another post, its also a rather disrespectful downplay, as Monica is predominantly popular among queer women, with alot of dedicated Monica Fans I've seen being esplicitely sapphic trans women. It is obvious that she appeals alot to this demographic and it is easy to see why, Edelgard is a fairly big favorite and comfort character among queer female fans of the game and Monica, being basically the Nr. 1 Edelgard Fangirl, is a character they can immerse themselves strongly into. In this vein Monica also feels less like a mockery and more like a not to the yuri fanbase around Edelgard, after all, it is quite on your nose to make the new Black Eagles character the games only explicit lesbian. Btw, I also think one of the 3 scenario writers is a woman tbh, they at least have a female sounding name. I think Gascons argument becomes really weird and self-contradicting in this case, as he is really obsessed with dismissing the sapphic appeal and subtext of the game surrounding the Black Eagles, which leads to him dismissing the writers outright, which also plays into him basically claiming that the subtext he glorifies as superior and valid compared to the inferior ridiculous f/f subtext, is supposedly just accidental. He is also misrepresenting the scene to make his claim about the allegedly superior m/m subtext of the game. Because...like, its not the scenes which he quotes, it is a scene in which Dedue does lead Dimitris Hand onto his heroes relic and push him into fighting, which could be understood as more of an example of male machismo, lol.
I mean, I think there is legitimate queer subtext especially among Dimitri and Dedue, though their relationship has alot of problematic issues and context and there is the legitimate issue of Dedue being somewhat of a good token minority engaging in respectability politics, while there also being the context of him being a man of color genocide survivor who exists purely to be subservient and nuturing towards the leader of the people who commited said genocide, being made to crush liberation movements by his own people in favor of the genocidal Nation Dimitri leads. I think there is interesting potential inside their relationship, especially due to the themes of vengeance surrounding Dimitri, but the game does handle it by far more poorly than could be said even with the most criticial lense towards the obsessive fangirl jokes surrounding Edelgard and Monica. Something Gascon does not acknowledge, because he is operating under the double standart that the male queer ships he enjoys are supported, pure and true and that outside of one token example, the female queer ships he dislikes are just mocking or titulating. Because, and this is important to remember, Gascon is a gay male chauvinist mad at sapphic women. His language and arguments make this fairly clear.
And here we have it. All queer female rep and subtext in Fire Emblem, in Gascons mind, is his argumentation, at the same t ime in a blind spot but also exist purely as profitable male titulation. This is an extreme case of misogyny, in which queer sapphic fandom is just entirely dismissed and sapphic subtext depicted as something lesser, only serving men. Because you know that this chauvinist thinks that lesbians should instead spend their time focussing purely on male gay representation. It is also an argument which we see often inside broader fandom discurse and by Fujoshis to attack Yuri and reveals a deeply rooted lesbophobia inside fandoms. And this is a peak example in which falls into the James Summerton school of performative feminism underneath he hides a weakly disguised deeply misogyny that specifically targets sapphic women in an attempt to dismiss the notion of women existing decentered from men. It is a good example of how even a gay man can still participate in patriachy and misogyny, in perpetuating the notion that women can only exist in relation to men. What he also does is full on dismiss decades of sapphic subtext and reading inside the Fire Emblem Community, for example what is with Eirichel or the strong bisexual subtext surrounding Camilla, and the extremely strong queer female subtext inside 3 Houses itself, not only in the way Crimson Flowers overall themes and subtext works the best as a sapphic story between a female Byleth and Edelgard, but also the undeniable queerness of Edelgard and Dorothea, both to each other as well as in their relationship with other women. But no, for him, all queer female expression that isn't to his comfort and resigns to exist as a secondary behind male queerness is to be dismissed as pure cishet male titulation. This is a strong example of queer male chauvinism and lesbophobia.
Could be because Byleths support with Rhea is incredibly unpopular, probably due to Silver Snows general massive lack of popularity and its strong aspect of grooming, implications of being based on love bombing and the fact that for all intends and purposes, Rhea is Byleths grandmother and depending on Sitris genetic components maybe or maybe not somewhat like a biological half-sibling. Not that a guy who on this very website openly admitted to persueing incest irl while framing this as just a normal part of gay culture could grasp that one.
Ultimately, the issue is that this just moves the goalpost, as he does not engage with and instead talks around the fact that sapphic women inside the fandom gravitate towards Edelgard and are part of her fanbase, sapphic women inside this fandom gravitate towards Edelgard, which Gascon obviously does not want to acknowledge. Hell, we know that many of the more well known fanartis and writers outside of just Captain Flash are sapphic women and enbies. One of the most popular Edeleth Fanartists is a non-binary lesbian, we see on twitter how a large portion of sapphics engaging with Fire Emblem strongly gravitate to and center Edelgard. And the issue with Fujoshis and androcentrism is one that currently inside of fandom discourse is predominantly pushed by lesbians. It is often lesbians criticizing the way how female writers, often female writers who also identify as queer, center and prioritize male characters inside of Fandom over promoting female characters and sapphic relationships. And nobody even claims that Dimitri Fans are all horny fujoshis, only that the fujoshi community, and all of its problematic elements which certainly don't describe all fujoshis or even a minority but issues inside the yaoi genre itself, gravitates strongly towards Dimitri.
Hell, the m/m centric ships of the Blue Lions and Dimitri are predominantly criticized for being examples of androcentrism inside Fandom and the fact that Dimilix being wastly more represented than Dimidue reveals an anti-PoC bias inside the community. Something I even wrote about today, while he focuses on being the lesbophobe he always was.
thankfully, I have this guy blocked otherwise I would have to disappoint him, as I'm not a troll. I'm a clown. I might need some psychopathic Juggalo gang though, just in case somebody decides to call me a troll.

Hii I’ve never requested anything like this before so if this is too vague please lmk 😭 Can you do general nsfw headcanons for Timerra (Fire Emblem Engage) with an inexperienced reader who’s basically just letting Timerra take the lead? If you can make the reader transfem I’d appreciate it since I’m transfem but it’s totally okay if no. Again you don’t have to write this I just love Timerra so much and I need more content with her ;w; ty
Hihi it's not too vague so don't worry! I'm transmasc myself so I wasn't exactly sure how you wanted it written (i.e in reference to anatomy and stuff) so I kinda just went with the flow? Hopefully it's okay! ^-^ Sorry this took me a bit to get to I've been caught up with work and whatnot
Timerra NSFW HCs
warnings: transfem reader - 'sex' used for anatomy, making out, some fingering, idk general smut stuff lmao wc: 440
CAN I JUST SAY I LOVE HER SM AHHHH she'd be vv accepting and welcoming of your identity. I have tons of sfw hcs for that but that's another post....
I think Timerra herself would be kind of inexperienced, though maybe not as much as you are. But she comes off as confident so you're surprised when she tells you that
She won't rush you into anything you're not ready for, but when you pull her aside one night with want written all over your face, the first thing she asks is if you're really sure
She wouldn't want to unknowingly hurt or trigger you, so she'll try to be careful with her words if you say yes. Chances are she'll also just ask you what you're comfortable with that way she can make everything go as smoothly as possible
She'd start out really really slow, pressing gentle kisses to the corner of your mouth before claiming your lips. She always makes sure she's aware of your every reaction, mentally noting what you do or don't seem to like. She'll lace your fingers together and give your hand small squeezes
It'll almost be unbearable by the time she finally pulls away from you that way you can both catch your breath, your chests heaving and eyes glossed over. Minutes turned into hours that she had you under her, taking her time to map out the shy but eager way you seek her touch out, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear and murmuring her name softly
When you give her the okay to go further, she's so sweet about it <3 she'll take as much time as you need her to, gently tugging down your skirt and stroking up and down your sides if you look scared or nervous
LOTS of praise and reassurance. If you need her to stop, then she will, and even if not she's still aware of your nonverbal signs and can tell if it's too much. She'll ease one slicked up finger into your hole, watching how your face scrunches up in a mixture of slight pain and pleasure, then still until you're begging her to keep going
She won't bring any attention to your sex if you don't want her to. Especially if it's something that you're insecure about. She wants you to know you're beautiful regardless of how you look, though
And she'll beat up anyone who says otherwise
"My pretty girl," Timerra smiles, kissing away the tears that threaten to fall down your cheeks. She's got two fingers inside of you now, the feeling foreign, odd, but you don't want her to stop. "You look so pretty like this, y'know?"

WHY THEY DON'T FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT.
Peony: Thinks everything is all fixed now 🥰
Triandra: Too caught up in her self-loathing and agonizing guilt to even consider speaking with Sharena, the only reason she's on speaking terms with Peony IS because of their closer proximity to each other (being alfar/shared background) and Peony's persistence
Sharena: Talks to Peony, Doesn't talk to Triandra????? Sharena is. The Ignorer. Maybe she wants to reach out, but doesn't know how or even where to begin. But honestly I think she's repressing a bunch of shit too. To speak to Triandra would mean having to Unpack All That.
Alfonse: Speaks to Peony and Triandra on business only. Very professional. Very cordial. Yes there's also the harsh self-criticism and agonizing guilt and holding even his child self to impossible standards like this never should have happened. I should have stopped it. I should have fixed it. I should have been Enough to Prevent This. For my sister to have been in the realm of dreams, her peers being abused and left for dead, what does that say? What does that mean? What happened? How could it have happened? It should have never happened. I should have
#fire emblem#feh#they drive me fucking crazy.#somewhere in the way back of my brain there's an alfonse and triandra storyline.#ggghuhhhh i said i don't think peony knows her actions have ripple effect consequences but like.#peony ALSO knows a lot more than she tends to let on and she actually has a lot of emotional intelligence#i just think. that maybe she's a bit short-sighted. which can come off as naive. but she's not simple-minded.#the biggest thing about the fairies is none of them got to grow up. so all of them still have child like tendencies.#in their thinking/conceptualization of morality and cause and effect. like. i think that's a key component here.#IT'S. REALLY FASCINATING. if you're insane they are actually sooooooo well-written#but that makes writing them ESPECIALLY PEONY. REALLY FUCKINH DIFFICULT.#like i literally Can Not get into her fucking head. i have trouble getting into sharena's head too actually#but i think i just. take too much psychic damage. she's too strong.#fe peony#sharena#fe triandra#fe alfonse

Ranking the Jock Studio Love Interests, Take 1
The first demo for BLits's Jock Studio has been out for over a year. Now there's a second demo on the horizon slated to release before the year is out, one that promises to show off more of the distinctive mechanical features that are helping it to stand out from the crowd of the numerous gay dating sims that go light on gameplay in favor of focusing their efforts on interesting and clever writing and/or hardcore porn.
The demo we currently have though is very much focused on hooking players with those two elements, something I have to say it does fairly well. Based on that, in this post I'm going to be talking about each of the six love interests and what most grabs my attention about their writing and...other assets...in the first demo. As we get more prerelease material leading up to the full game coming out whenever it does (2025, hopefully?), I'll surely be revisiting this topic. But for now, here's the love interests ranked according to how personally engaging I find them. I also have my opinions on the two featured NPCs in the demo, as well as on (shockingly) the main character himself, but I feel like we need more info on them and what they're going to be doing in terms of the naughty stuff before I can really express my thoughts on those.
Note that while the pics in this post are SFW, some of the opinions are decidedly not.
#6. Leo
The twinkiest of the love interests which already doesn't do an awful lot for me. His explicit content calls attention to his feet which is also not something that gets me going. Personality-wise he's unfortunately rather bland at this point, being rather sunny (sun motifs are all over this guy) and maybe a little too involved and eager to please for his own good. His storyline will almost certainly feature some level of burnout and needing someone - the MC and/or the other jocks, because that's supposed to be a thing - to get him to focus on himself for a change. Again, not really a sexual vibe that interests me, nor is it likely to be character development that wows me.
I don't hate the guy...he's just the one that catches my attention least. Kind of a shame too, because unless NPC Jacques Laurent gets a bunch of unexpected development related to his being French and not just having that name because it's turned into wordplay to make the game's title Leo's the character who's most likely to be culturally relatable for me.
#5 Yuuto
He's hyperactive, makes weird non sequiturs, and is Japanese. That sums Yuuto up pretty well, to the point that he can feel a little exhausting while oddly being not that interesting if you're not into the "exotic" vibe of his theme instrumentation, food preferences, and uh...underwear. (This game taught me what fundoshi are.)
I do like that his zaniness includes a casual nudist streak because that's always good for some silly sexual situations, and also that his masturbation scene in the demo actually plays with his hyperactivity by having him cum too fast and then needing the MC to coach him through taking it slower for the camera. Generally speaking, I like that the demo emphasizes a different professional dynamic between each love interest and the MC when they're making their videos.
#4 Zayne
Insincere, self-assured playboy vibes - flirts with and possibly sleeps with a lot of people (women and men?) but is surely going to have to be taught the meaning of love. Not really my thing, nor am I really into his various piercings including studs on his dick although I'm sure those would feel interesting. It's a little hard not to compare Zayne to Claude from Fire Emblem Three Houses minus any sort of political angle, because he's got the same gimmick of being casually friendly and flirty coupled with the sense that he's hiding something and more guarded than he appears.
How that will play out in his storyline remains to be seen, but as with Claude I find it tougher to get into characters whose biggest draw comes from how mysterious they are. Here's to hoping that will translate to some fun stuff in bed...or on the filming couch, as the case may be. Basically, he's a character I could be really into, but I'll need to see more before I can make that call. It's possible too that something could be done with his apparent bisexuality, as he flirts publicly with his many female admirers while turning on the charm just as much in private for the MC.
#3 Avan
The imperious, overworked student council president...even though I'm not entirely certain that US universities even have student councils, and that this isn't just a carryover trope from anime. But anyway, that angle will hopefully play into the academic and student life sides of gameplay that prerelease info has been touting, to say nothing of him having some level of oversight on the game's titular club. Avan's definitely going to be busy during the special seasonal arcs that were part of the game's many stretch goals; getting him horny and relaxed is no doubt going to be on the table.
Twunkier than I'd normally be into, but his assured, slightly bossy vibes can be fun and could go a number of ways in sex scenes from power bottom to the uncommon twink/twunk top.
#2 Derek
Has the soft Dom energy I most often end up sleeping with in real life, and obviously a treat if you're into muscles and big dicks and probably total tops although with as much as this game is promising it wouldn't surprise me if every guy turns out to be at least a little vers.
More than that though I like Derek as a former adult film star with clearly mixed feelings on the industry even as he's getting back into it. Like Full Service, another dating sim I've covered, Jock Studio is ripe to explore the world of sex work (and male sex workers specifically) from the perspective of its participants, which is naturally something I gravitate toward and something that I hope gets handled with finesse. Derek in particular is an established professional working with a bunch of guys just getting into the industry, so I can see his storyline being something along the lines of his mentoring role getting subverted by the MC discovering he has some hidden baggage about his former work that he doesn't want to share with anyone else. Good stuff all around.
#1 Bryce
Oof. Bryce is already a polarizing character, and while evidently I'm a fan of what it looks like BLits is doing with him I've got a case to make here for putting him in my #1 slot.
BLits's earlier games, Camp Buddy and its sequel, exist in a world where men just aren't straight and it's basically never remarked on that literally every guy ever gets horny for other men. That's great for wish fulfillment, but it can get rather ridiculous at times. Jock Studio, by contrast, is going for a very different tone right from the start, with Bryce being a homophobic gay4pay frat boy who swears very loudly by his heterosexuality. While I understand how this could be very off-putting, even when you know from what kind of game this is that Bryce isn't really straight, I appreciate it as new territory for these developers. Internalized homophobia is a goldmine for character drama, and as with Derek there's also the opportunity to comment on elements of the gay porn industry: in this case, the fixation on "str8 acting" men and on porn scenarios involving "tricking" or "converting" straight guys into having gay sex. There's a lot that could be dug into with Byrce past his abrasive surface.
Additionally, of the three larger love interests Bryce is the one that comes closest to appealing to those who like softer/chubbier builds, even if he's still got the big glam muscles that Zayne and Derek have. His explicit scenes - and the MC's goofy intro to him - call attention to his sizeable pecs and ass (also armpits if you're into those), so that's fun. A lot of people are looking forward to Bryce turning into a big needy bottom...which would indeed be quite entertaining.

Some music idea's for tadc Carnival au
So in each of the guardian's themes from BOTW you can faintly hear the morse code for S.O.S at different points in their songs, right? (along with other morse code messages that I don't know the meaning of)
(It's a lot clearer in the soundtrack, especially for vah ruta but hopefully you can still hear it)
Listen closely, you can hear beeping in the background:
youtube
So what if WHAT IF Different songs in the Carnival au game's soundtrack had something like that? Like you open it up and the title screen's song has a catchy beat, but little do you know, IT'S THE GAME CALLING FOR HELP.
That was just a random thought I had, this post is mostly to headcanon what video game osts would fit what character, so here:
Pomni's Room:
Glitzville (Paper Mario: The Thousand year Door)
Does. Does anyone actually remember some of the weird (and sometimes racially insensitive) writing in this game? I still have a pretty fresh memory, because I first played it about two years ago (VERY LEGALLY). But did anyone clock those as a kid, or was it just a normal 2000s thing?
Pomni's Boss Battle
I think the choice is obvious...
THE WORLD REVOLVING (Deltarune)
Ragatha's Room
Petalburg (Paper Mario and the Thousand year Door)
(But if you wanted it to be more elegant, "The Night of The Ball" from Fire Emblem 3 Houses would also fit I think. Oo, OR" Lily's theme" from Pokemon: Sun and Moon might fit better.)
Ragatha's boss Battle
Battle! (Lusamine) (Pokemon Sun and Moon)
(I couldn't really think of a good one for her)
Kinger's Room
Soul Sanctum (Hollow Knight)
(Could also be "Victory Road" from Pokemon: X and Y, Or if you're looking for something more upbeat, Merlee's mansion from Super Paper Mario! that one might sound too evile, though [Fun fact: I was so scared of Mimi's spider form as a kid, that I didn't end up getting past the second door and finishing the game until I was FOURTEEN])
(It could also be a whole host of other Hollow Knight songs)
Kinger's Boss Battle
Mantis Lords (Hollow Knight)
(OR "Twilight of the Gods" from Shadows of Valentia, or maybe even "Time to Fight!" From Xenoblade Chronicles (*cough* Dunban is the goat *cough*))
OKAY, for Jax, since he's so fucked up, I think his themes would be DRASTICLY different when comparing sentitience and none-sentience:
Jax's Room (sentient)
Hellfire Follies (Bendy and the Ink Machine)
Jax's Room (Non Sentient)
Inkwell Isle One (Cuphead)
Jax's Boss Battle (Sentient)
Colossal Wonders (Bendy and the Ink Machine)
Jax's Boss Battle (Non-sentient)
Fiery Frolic (Cuphead)
Another fun fact, King Dice's song is sung by a woman named Alana Bridgewater!
Gangle's Room
Shopping (Pokemon: X and Y)
Again, struggled with this one. Not sure if it fits too well.
(A general theme for Gangle could be Dimentio, Charming Magician from Super Paper Mario)
Gangle's Boss Battle
I've Had Enough Of You (Billie Bust Up)
And would you look at that, Michael's at it again.
Here's a female cover cus y'know Gangle's a girl
(For ones without vocals, maybe "Battle Team Flare" from Pokemon X and Y, "Fracktail Battle" or "It's Showtime" both from Super Paper Mario)
Zooble's Room
Spirit of Hospitality (Celeste)
(Could also be Crystal Peak from Hollow Knight!)
Zooble Boss Battle
Confronting myself (Celeste)
(I was struggling to decide between Heartache, Metal crusher (Undertale) and Battle Elite Four (Pokemon: Sun and Moon) but as soon I heard this, I KNEW)
Bonus:
Caine Boss Fight
BIG SHOT (Deltarune: Chapter 2)
I think that's all of them!

People were really and seriously trying to compare UO and Engage? I mean, I make jokes at FE16's expense at times, but bar that, for a real and meaningful comparaison the games don't work together and can't, imo, be compared at all. It's like comparing apples and bananas!
Oh yeah people did
Like when Uo release… actually even BEFORE it released, when it was announced people were already comparing it to Engage arguing it looked more "Fire Emblem" than engage did and arguing that the art and design were better because it looked more like warriors and not "like v tubers" (talk about judging a book by it's cover)
That said it's not like it lasted long, a few articles, some tweets and one very bad video trying to argue UO surpassed Engage (it was so funny though because the guy made a mistake right at the begining because he mistook the Sage class in Engage with the Sorcerer class, a class that doesn't exist in Engage !)
"For a real and meaningful comparaison the games don't work together and can't, imo, be compared at all. It's like comparing apples and bananas!"
I agree that said it's not like you can't compare them at all but there needs to be some subtance behind this comparison and if there is one thing that Internet told me is that lest they do enjoy to some degree the writing of Engage people are unable to say anything of substance about this game
Idk if you've heard of the "3H works vs Engage struggle video" but it's a good example, the Op said very interesting things about 3H but whenever it came to Engage he was straight up saying "I don't care, whatever I just don't care" "I didn't care enough to come back and check etc" which is mind buggling, when you make a full 1 hour long video essay out of your own volition about comparing 2 games I think that maybe you should care ! What made it worse is that he made mistakes regarding the plot that were just… one example that made me scream was that he argued a point about emergency in the story taking as an example the time Zephia gives a time travel crystal to Alear and co (chapter 23) saying and I quote that Zephia told Alear and co that the crystal had to be used in a limited time while simulteanously playing clips of Zephia saying that when they use the crystal the crystal's SPELL will be limited…
Like it's one thing to criticize which no problem but when you realize that the "critic" side has little to no real substantative take about the game that make the discussion very sterile
That said the UO vs Engage isn't as prevelant nor controversial as the 3H vs Engage but this was indeed a thing (sorry for the long answer)
