winterfell is one of my favorite of the castles bc its warm. both in a metaphorical and literal meaning. its built on natural hot springs and has hot water streaming through out the entire castle, protecting its residents both from the cold and people alike. its so warm inside that catelyn can open her windows in the middle of the night and still stay comfortable. even the glass gardens are warm enough for flowers to bloom and crops to grow in the long winters, feeding the keep. the people are warm too; everyone from the servants to the lord himself. Ned cared for his people and they loved him for that and took care of the Starklings in turn, risked their lives to save Bran and Rickon from the ironborn. Theon knows that if Bran and Rickon were to get away from Winterfell, the commoners themselves would protect the princes, hide and lie for them. and when Sansa builds Winterfell from snow and rocks and sticks in the Eyrie, it doesn't feel right bc despite the snow which covered it from winter to summer, Winterfell itself never was cold

People often forget the fact that the main character/cast in the story doesn't have to believe in the right thing. They can be very wrong, they can die while believing in something very wrong. And it's not just the "tragic" very wrong, nor the "badass villain" very wrong, it is actually something disgusting and inhumane, that makes people feel terrible knowing that in some story, the main cast can have awful morals. In some stories, no character, not the main cast nor the villain, may have the right insight on something. And people will automatically assume that the story and the author are terrible, because everything is so bad in the story. Except, this makes people ignore said story itself. The right belief may actually be hidden, and only uncovered by seeing what these characters, main cast or villains, get in the end. You can't know that running wild on the rocky ground is a bad idea, until you fall, or hear it from someone else.

Adding to the list of things I still care about even after fucking years, Rin and Haruka. I'm still passionate about this. like, I never argued with others, everyone are entitled to their own opinions, but imo they're written so fucking nicely, the passion and understanding they have for eachother is amazing, it's so mutual and it's like their souls are tangled into eachother and it's so beautiful and meaningful and raw.

unfortunately, recent studies have shown that users (me) actually have to post things on their blog (actual content not just ominous shitposts with no tags) to get more followers. the public (me) are not happy with the results.

A hall of curiosities, isn't it? a perfumed dowager says.
Most certainly, hums another in a white laced ensemble. A half-dead gentleman, and a half-dead girl.
Gale's legs, restless, long madly to bolt.
For a whole of a year he has been a phantom, a well-rumored one, drearily isolated and viciously scarred. His chest still aches, his high-collared outfit by that pulsating wound, but evidently, humoring his sorrows made for miserable company. Go, his mother ordered. And attend that dance. He's still polite and mannered, has yet four springs worth of charm to glow the room, but in fearsome measures that he has never once felt, the need for books, for quiet, settles in thick. God. Gale lies with a grin, leaving a lord for what he says is the washroom. When he slips instead into a too-shadowed study, its the shimmer of her gown that makes him stop. "Ah. Apologies. I--" Was hiding? Fleeing? Am a most ill-mannered man to wander this home? Gale leans against the door, scouring for answers. He rightens, straightens, starlight scant in his hair. "Was feeling difficult, I suppose." Ha! "As rousing as tonight's conversation is, I was yearning for a debate with one Sir Elameth. A great mind, his. Perhaps you've met." / @highevar, liked.

I'm having so much fun reading Blue Moon Rising by Simon R. Green (published in 1991), and it feels like it was written exactly for me and my taste <3 (but I'm only 130 pages in)
I actually read this book when I was a teenager, and it just stayed with me since then. I forgot everything about the story, but the feelings have remained and I'm glad that reading the book again isn't disappointing and I'm probably getting more out of it now than when I was around 15, since it's aimed at adults.
"Your taste hasn't change since you were a teenager?" lol
