...Okay, look. Sam knows she's staring. She knows very well that she is staring. And that if she doesn't stop staring it's gonna draw her unwanted attention, and that will only have to make her explain why she's staring. Which she doesn't want to do.

She's trying not to stare, which she thinks she should get brownie points for. She tries to look away, to find a spot on the wall to stare lifelessly at, maybe she can burn holes into some of these annoying socialites' heads. But eventually her eyes drift, and suddenly she's back to staring again.

Can you blame her though? Damian Wayne looks like a very close mini-me of her fucking best friend. Seriously, it's like looking into a mirror to the past. If that mirror to the past had green eyes rather than blue and a distinctive lack of a facial scar.

The first time she sees him when her parents drag her over to Bruce Wayne to butter up to him she has to do a doubletake. Then a triple take. Then a quadruple take, just for good measure that she was seeing what she was actually seeing. She was sure she looked like one of those stress toys that when squeezed had their eyes pop out comically like a Saturday morning cartoon, that's what she certainly felt like anyways.

Look, Danny's come a decent way from being that scowl-y, jerkish little ten year old she first met when he arrived like the wind to Amity Park five years ago (even if he was still occasionally scowl-y and jerkish), but one thing that's stayed the same is how reserved he is about his home life prior to being taken in by the Fentons.

He doesn't talk about it much, and Sam's come to know that he's very good at changing the subject when it gets brought up. Even after being friends for nearly four years, the only thing she and Tuck know for certain is that he has a little brother that he refers to as 'starlight', whom he cares a lot about but left on really bad terms with. And that he's never met his father, but wants to and knows who he is.

He's never told her or Tucker who he was though, and glancing at Bruce Wayne, Sam is realizing why. She can begrudgingly acknowledge all the good he's done for Gotham, but... well, if Danny told her that Bruce Wayne was his dad, she wouldn't have believed him at all.

But she's starting to see the resemblance, as subtle as it is.

And she sees the resemblance to Damian Wayne, her eyes dropping back down to him as he wears a very Danny-like scowl on his face, arms crossed behind his back as his eyes swept around the ballroom. He was five years younger than Danny, and god it was so, so weird.

His eyes turned on to her, and they locked gazes for a moment.

Involuntarily, Sam makes a startled noise and looks away. Fingers tap against her purse, black and purple and unfortunately a clutch that only held her phone and her wallet in it. She would have kept a knife on her, but her parents put their foot down and there was a security detail at the door. Only in Gotham.

Silently, she was hoping that the little Danny-me didn't say anything. Or at least, he hadn't noticed her staring. Which was a tall order if she ever heard one -- and unfortunately, her silent prayers went unanswered as her mother's eyes dropped down onto her.

"Did you say something, Samantha?" She asks in a sickeningly sweet voice, a sound that makes Sam's skin crawl. Her dad and Bruce Wayne's attention also turns onto her, and she glowers at her mom from the corner of her eye.

"I didn't say anything." Sam says, barely keeping her tone polite as she turned her head away. Her mother clucks her tongue, disapproving, but from her peripherals doesn't pester her more

Bruce Wayne, the bastard, takes that time to turn to Sam and grace her with his dime-a-dozen billboard smiles. "I've been talking with your parents this whole time, Miss Manson, you must be terribly bored. How is your schooling going?"

Sam eyes him up and down. On one hand, she immediately wants to be snarky. It's none of his business what her school life is like, she doesn't care for his fucking small talk.

On the other hand, this was Danny's whole father. Someone who she knows that Danny has wanted to meet for, what she's assuming, his whole life. He's never brought it up much, but she remembers that very quiet, solemn conversation she and Tucker had with him where he admits to having never met his dad. But god does he want to.

And... wait. Sam's eyes narrow, and she meets Bruce Wayne's eyes. Does this man even know Danny exists? She drops her gaze down to Damian, who was staring at her suspiciously, and then back up to Bruce, and she alternates between them.

Why was Damian living with Bruce, but not Danny? Why hasn't Bruce done anything to reach out to him - what was going on with Danny's biological family that Danny had to be separated from them, but not Damian? Danny's always been kinda mysterious, but now things weren't adding up.

Was Danny given up? Does Bruce just not want Danny, but wanted Damian? Why the fuck does Bruce Wayne know about Damian but not her best friend -- or does he know and just not care? He's fought for custody for his adoptive kids before, does he just not want to fight for his other biological son? Does he think Danny's not worth it?

She's never cared much about the Wayne family before, other than to hear about the advancements on WE's eco-friendly tech, but Sam thinks she's gonna have to look into why Damian Wayne was living with the Waynes.

Slowly, with a protective anger beginning to burn in her gut and crawl up her throat, a scowl slowly curls at the corner of her lip as she redirects her glare from her mother onto Bruce. "It's going fine," She says curtly, jutting her chin out defiantly. "Me and my friend Danny started a petition to fix the leaky faucets in the girls and boys' bathrooms in order to conserve more water for the rest of the city."

She eyes his face, waiting to see if anything like recognition flashes through it. And- and nothing. Sam breathes in slowly through her nose, trying to quell the red that's blurring the edge of her vision -- does he just, not know where Danny is?

Her parents however, make vaguely displeased expressions. "Our Samantha is... quite passionate about her pet projects." Her dad says, laughing low and nervously, "she's very vocal about silly things like that."

"Her friend Daniel is perhaps even worse than she is sometimes." Her mother adds on, fanning her face with her perfectly manicured hands with a sigh. "I swear, he's the one that keeps dragging her into these things."

Sam's anger turns on its head, and she whirls on her heel like a fire-breathing dragon. "It's Danyal." It rolls out like instinct. Danny's told them both that he hates the Americanized pronunciation of his name, but in a rare moment of restraint, puts up with it for reasons unknown to her. "And Danny doesn't make me do anything, it was my idea."

The name, Danyal, seems to ring some kind of bell in Brucie Wayne's head, because she sees him and Damian quietly perk up like two cats pricking up their ears. Her eyes flick onto him immediately, something dangerous rearing its head. So Bruce Wayne knows about Danny. And he's not reaching out to him. Is he? She's not sure.

She does know that she's gonna rip his throat out if she finds out that he's known about Danny this entire time and has been ignoring him while favoring his little brother. She'll hunt down Aragon herself and steal his dragon-shifting amulet and wreck house on Bruce Wayne if that's the case. Batman and his league of vigilantes be damned. Her parents don't notice her slowly turning head towards Bruce.

But Bruce does, and she makes direct eye contact with him. His smile doesn't falter, he just tilts his head like a curious puppy and looks at Sam's parents. She hopes Bruce can read minds, she hopes he can hear her threatening him.

"Danyal?" He asks, and Sam doesn't know if she hates the fact that he said it correctly or not. She just continues burning holes into him and hoping he might spontaneously combust.

Her mother waves her hand dismissively, tilting her nose up poshly into the air. "Our dear Samantha's little... foster friend from school," she says, not even bothering to hide her disdain, "a creepy little boy with the most garish scar on his face. He's a rude little thing, not good for polite company."

Scratch that, Sam mentally alternates between ripping into her parents and Bruce. She whirls on them. "Do not talk about Danny that way." She all but snarls, and they all but ignore her.

(She's tearing up the upholstery when she gets home. She's going to paint over the fine china. She's going to do something to make them pay for this.)

"Oh yes, he was taken in by that freaky Fenton family a few years ago." Her dad continues in lieu of her mom, and they both shake their heads disapprovingly. "It's just what our city needs, another menace."

"Danny is not a menace." Sam continues, raising her voice while her hands shake with rage. Her parents finally look at her, but she can already tell that they're going to scold her for raising her voice. She bulldozes over them and jabs her black-painted finger at them. "He's got a bigger heart than the both of you combined."

"Samantha, please." her mom says, exasperated. They both give her disapproving looks, Sam thinks about grabbing champagne off the tray of a nearby waiter and throwing it in their faces. "You defend that boy far too much. What do you actually know about him and his family?"

Sam sets her jaw, puffing herself up like a dragon protecting its hoard. She steps into her mom's space. "I know that he loves the stars; you can ask him anything about astronomy and he could give you an entire lecture on the formation, class types, and various gasses that stars are made up of. He can tell you how the Earth was formed, he can tell you about the visible light spectrum and about light curves, and a whole ton of other stuff that I don't really understand. But Danny loves talking about it."

Her face twists and scowls, "I know he cares a ton about the environment and about fixing light pollution, and preserving the forests and natural habitats of animals." She nearly jabs her finger into her mom's chest, "I know he loves dogs, and that there's one he feeds every day on the way to school that he calls Cujo, its a St. Bernard puppy and Danny carries him around whenever he sees him after school, and is in the middle of training him."

It's not a total lie, but it's not the whole truth either. Cujo doesn't need food, but Danny gives him it anyways. "I know he likes spicy food and loves movies but specifically only sci-fi and horror, and he hates most martial arts movies. His favorite superhero is the Martian Manhunter, but Batman comes in at a close second." For reasons to her that were pretty unknown, but it didn't matter.

"I know he loves wordplay and making puns, which I would have never expected from him when we first met, but it's so unbelievably Danny-like that I can't imagine him not making puns." And she smiles a little to herself, she remembers the first time Danny intentionally made a pun once and it got startled laughs out of both her and Tucker.

Her smile suddenly falters, and she swallows. Her lips purse up, wobbling, and she very quickly glances over to Damian Wayne, of whom is watching her with a vaguely bewildered expression alongside Bruce.

She turns her eyes back onto her parents. "And I know that he worries a lot, even if he has a shit way of showing it. I know he had a little brother that he hasn't seen since he was adopted by the Fentons, and he doesn't talk about him often but when he does he he calls him 'starlight'." From the corner of her eye, she sees Damian jerk.

"So- so, so what if he's not 'good for polite company'." Sam's voice, embarrassingly, cracks down the middle. But she's so angry over Danny's behalf that she doesn't really care. "Or that he can be mean, and critical, and stubborn. He's learning, and he's becoming kinder by the day. That's more than I can say about you."

(She remembers when Danny finally admitted to her and Tucker being his 'closest friends'. It was sometime before the portal incident, and it felt like a milestone because beforehand he only really referred to them as his companions or allies.)

(At the time, he'd looked unsure of himself. Skittish like a stray in the back of an alleyway, almost shy in his own way. It had come out stilted, slow, like an infant taking its first steps, and it would have been endearing if it hadn't been heartbreaking.)

Her parents rear back like she'd struck them, and her mother holds a hand against her chest in aghast. Sam doesn't care, she blinks the sting out of her eyes. "Samantha." Her mother starts.

Sam cuts her off, "I don't care what you have to say, you-- you pricks." she snaps, around her, there are gasps. Belatedly, she realizes she's grown an audience, but again she doesn't care. "Danny might be an asshole, but he cares. And I'd rather be around someone whose mean but cares, than someone whose nice but doesn't."

With that, she whirls on her foot and turns on Bruce Wayne, who has been silent the entire time with a surprised expression on his face. He starts to shake out of it when Sam turns to him, but she doesn't give him the chance to speak. "Enjoy your party." She snarls, and then stalks away.

I've wanted to draw these two for such a long time ! Ever since I saw @t00thpasteface 's art and comics (you should check them out if you've never seen them before, they're *very* good), I've kinda fell in love with their dynamic ? who can blame me ! The skillful assassin being tasked to kill the new emperor, but don't go through with it because the man kinda cute and offered him wine fnflfl incredible (and don't get me started on the whole former priest of sanguine so maybe they already met before bit, I will start eating dry wall)- also it's a ship based on two characters who never met and I love that shit (if you've seen my stardew valley fanarts, you already know that dkfkk)

But I wanted to add my own spin on it :) by making lucien lachance the most hedonistic little cunt you've ever seen fkdkld the man is drinking fine wine first thing in the morning after the getting the best dick of his life- and making him eat what can only be describe as the most aggressively cliché french breakfast :))) as a treat (my french ass trying to come up with a decadent breakfast : hmmmmm how about jam on baguette and wine ?)

It's so interesting how Izutsumi's cat is dominant in this place. I don't understand enough about soul magic or the spell that maintains this to know why. It FEELS right - this is a place for monsters, and that's the part of her that's a monster? But I bet there's worldbuilding that explains it...

WAIT, OR: that couple pages I reblogged with hte werewolf clearly implied that Izursumi isn't a human with a cat spirit put in her, she's a cat with a human spirit put in her. So maybe whatever enchantments shield and maintain the Golden Country bring the cat spirit to the fore as part of their preservative properties, doing their best to remove this curse upon the poor cat? Izutsumi doesn't change shape, just mind, because the souls are so mixed and/or the human soul is so much stronger than hte cat.

Who the fuck took a human soul and put it in a cat. Why would you do that I wonder if we'll ever know.

(The question of the comic is thus, of course: did Falin's soul get put inside a dragon's, in which case she'll be stuck with a dragonoid body at best, or did the dragon's get put inside Falin's, in which she should be able to shift back and forth at will once the Mage isn't forcibly holding the dragon's soul dominant?)

They're dead! They're under a spell (a curse) of immortality so they can't change and they can't leave and nobody knows they exist and they can't make an impression on the world and nobody even really knows they did exist, not as individuals beyond a vague collective legend; and most of all they don't hunger, they don't want for anything in their bucolic life (except freedom or death) and they don't hunger for food, they don't eat and even if they do eat it they can't enjoy it, because they're immortal but in every single way that matters they are d e a d !

Alright my current theory is: this kingdom always venerated a winged lion deity, for whatever reason. Myths happen. Then one day, a demon slipped in from wherever demons slip in and disguised itself as the winged lion in order to be easily trusted by the populace. It started offering the fulfillment of desires in exchange for the consumption of other desires.

It tricked the Mage somehow, so that by their powers combined they turned the populace of this city into a feeding pen for the demon - safe and happy forever! being slowly drained of all their desires.

But as the people's desires started to run truly dry, until they were functionally dead, the demon grew hungry - and maybe greedy. So it sent the villagers this "prophetic dream" about one who would save them, motivating Delgal to get to the surface - probably with the demon's help, covert so the Mage wouldn't know; still pretending to be a god if Delgal himself knew. It let the dungeon be opened, drawing all sort of greedy and desperate people down into its feasting range.

...whatever trick/bargain it made with hte Mage, it's probably going to try to do much the same with Marcille, with her terror of loss.

P.S. I love how Yaad keeps calling him "Sir Laios" like he's a knight, instead of just some guy with good intentions who thinks monsters are neat. Also, Chilchuck literally just shaking his head at Laios.

Needless to say, the contrast between Laios's blind panic at being told he's a prophecied hero and king and Kabru's "If I had the ability to take over this dungeon and kingdom, I'd fix absolutely everything and no one would have any problems ever again" is hilarious and wonderful.

Laios basically just told that orc chieftain that he'd think about what he'd do as king, right? ...Well, I guess it's time for him to think about it.

I see this translation is calling the Mad Mage "Sissel." Just as its decision to call her the "lunatic magician", I deem this to be a stupid-ass decision and have elected to ignore it in favor of "Thistle", which is a much better name for a weird elf orphan turned mad mage.

Ah, damn, they corrected to he/him pronouns. So much for women's wrongs... I STAND BY it making perfect sense in-universe for our protagonists to get it wrong from their first, confusing meeting, though!

I'm a bit curious was it ever confirmed that Shaun and Ian interacted with one another or met before the eventual breakup between Ian and MC. If not what are some of your headcanons on this matter would they have gotten along at all?

Actually, yes, it has been confirmed that Shaun and Ian knew each other before Ian and MC broke up in this comic posted over on the official Sunny Day Jack twitter!

While a lot of teaser/development art should be taken with a grain of salt, if it appears on one of the official pages, it's a pretty safe bet that it's canon to the timeline of the game.

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that Ian did not pass Shaun's vibe check.

The first comic certainly makes it clear that Shaun didn't find Ian attractive considering the way he reacted. Maybe it's due to jealousy (I don't think Shaun wants to think about his crush having sex with someone else) or maybe it's because of Ian's bad taste in anime. Who can say?

I suspect that these two just didn't get along. Between Shaun suffering from jealousy due to his crush and the two of them having different tastes, they were probably only friendly to one another for MC's sake.

I would imagine that Shaun's opinion on Ian took an extreme nosedive when they found out Ian cheated on MC.

Man... can you imagine how much pain Shaun has been through? He had to watch his best friend/crush be happy with someone else... then get devastated by being cheated on. The worst part was if he had bad vibes from Ian from the start, but he ignored his gut feelings for MC's sake.

When it comes to my personal headcanons that I use for Sunshine in Hell... Shaun and Ian had friction since the first day Alice introduced the two of them.

It wasn't just Shaun being jealous of Ian either. Ian was jealous of Shaun too!

Ian has always suffered from a low sense of self-esteem. Shaun, by comparison, is much more well put together, more outgoing, and has this natural charisma that draws people to him. Shaun is just so likable that he gets a lot of attention and friends. For years, Ian was the exact opposite of that, which led to him being bullied and degraded often.

So one day Alice, his childhood friend and partner, is super excited to introduce Ian to her new friend. Shaun and Alice have a lot in common, and it was very visible in the early years of college when Alice was in the middle of her pastel goth phase. Shaun and Alice had a love for horror movies, cats, the goth aesthetic, and a whole bunch of other things. They clicked so quickly, and it scared Ian a little.

It didn't help that Alice had trouble making friends like Ian did. They had that in common, something that gave them a sort of understanding that no one else could intrude on. Now that they were in college they started making more friends, and that was a good thing, really! But Alice clicked with Shaun about as fast as she did with Ian.

In the 1st grade, one day Alice mustered up the courage to talk to Ian in order to cheer him up. After that they started talking every day and they were besties ever since. From there, they started dating. She's never really clicked with anyone else so fast like she did with Ian...

Until Shaun, that is.

Ian kept comparing himself to Shaun, unfavorably. He kept worrying about Alice falling for Shaun instead since, well, clearly Shaun had so much more than Ian had to offer. Why wouldn't she? What didn't help his insecurities was the fact that they had been a couple since high school, but they still hadn't had sex yet.

I integrated the comic into part of Alice and Ian's troubled sex life. The depicted instance was Ian's attempt at making things romantic so that they could finally go all the way.

It took them a while to start being sexually intimate due to their mutual lack of practical knowledge and Alice's SA trauma. She was very cuddly with Ian, not afraid to kiss him or go into a make out session, but she struggled to go further than that for a long time. It left Ian struggling with insecurities, fearing that he wasn't attractive to her despite her constantly reassuring him that wasn't the case.

Really, it was that insecurity and self-blame that pushed Alice to go further than she was ready for, to pretty painful results that she learned to just accept as part of the experience.

Alice is the type of person who can't be comfortable with people touching her unless she trusts them. However, when she gets close to someone, she can get pretty cuddly, even with her friends, giving them hugs often. So, for Ian, seeing his girlfriend get comfortable hugging another guy... someone he might have noticed looking at her a certain way...

Well, getting cockblocked on his rocky road to losing his virginity didn't help Ian see Shaun in a more favorable light.

Really, this was an incident that pushed Ian to be a bit more possessive of Alice. He was already struggling with the fact that his partner was sharing a dorm with someone else, but for Shaun to just casually walk into her bedroom like that without knocking? Ian certainly had permission to come in there without Alice knowing since he's her boyfriend, and he was planning to surprise her with a romantic evening, but how long had Shaun been just letting himself into her private space so casually?

Ian didn't believe that Alice was cheating on him, but what if Shaun decided to take advantage of her? What if this casual blurring of their living space led to feelings blooming?

What if Alice realized that Shaun was so much better than Ian in every way?

This led to Ian asking Alice to move into an apartment with him, even if it cost them money. He was able to feel more secure when they were living together, and he could be the one going into her bedroom at any hour of the day to be with her instead of someone else.

Shaun did try to befriend Ian, but it seemed like every time they hung out, something would rub him the wrong way. He did his best to be happy for Alice and Ian in their relationship, but it wasn't just Ian's shit taste in anime that struck Shaun as a red flag.

It didn't take Shaun long to notice a pattern in Ian and Alice's relationship. Ian would be down on himself, even cry and apologize for being inadequate, and Alice would reassure him. It seemed like every day, he saw this happen at least once. He tried reassuring Ian as well when he could, but after a while it gets tiring to try and lift someone up who keeps dragging himself down. Shaun would suggest Ian try therapy, and Ian would insist it wouldn't work, he was hopeless, and it wasn't worth wasting money on.

It was only when Alice showered Ian with love, and when their mutual friends bent backwards to cheer him up, that Ian would perk up again.

Shaun saw the red flags going up, how Ian was so needy for Alice and it was wearing on her. She went out of her way for Ian all the time, doing so much more because Ian "needed" her.

What made it worse was that Shaun saw how unbalanced their relationship was, how Alice gave Ian so much more than Ian gave back. Because Ian was so clingy, Alice had to often cancel meet ups with friends at the last minute, citing that he was having a bad day and needed her. Yet, on days when Alice was feeling like shit, she just kept powering through, pretending nothing was wrong. It took Shaun a lot of effort to pry her into leaning on him, and he'd even go out of his way to do stuff for her without her asking, like buying her lunch when she was so overworked she forgot to bring any.

Shaun worried for Alice because she was his friend, and she didn't deserve this sort of treatment. It was like she had become Ian's emotional crutch. Regardless of his attraction towards her, regardless if they could ever get together, he wanted her to be happy.

Shaun's opinion of Ian slowly deteriorated over time, but it turned into downright hate when Ian cheated on Alice, especially after she almost died because of it.

It was just a normal night when Shaun got a phone call from Ian. It was about Alice of course. It was the only reason Ian ever called Shaun - to check up on Alice. That night was different because Ian was in a panic. Alice wasn't picking up for him, which was unusual enough, but Ian was insistent that Shaun needed to check on her to make sure she was okay.

It was lucky that Shaun had the spare key to the apartment Alice and Ian shared. The sight of her lying unconscious in a pool of blood in the bathroom is a scar that'll forever be etched in his memory.

Shaun spent an entire night terrified, wondering what had happened. Did Alice try to kill herself? Why? She might have been missing Ian after he moved across the country, but she always reached out to Shaun and others when she wanted company. What happened that night? When he mentioned Alice's state to Ian, he just wailed that it was all his fault and Shaun couldn't reach Ian after that, as Ian was busy trying to book a flight back home to see her at the hospital.

Shaun had to be the one to call Alice's family too, but he had no answers to give them. The doctors would only let family or her legal partner see her for a while. It was only the next day that he learned that it was all because Ian had cheated on Alice, and she drank to dull the pain, only to hurt herself under the influence of alcohol poisoning.

Shaun could've kicked himself. He saw the problems in their relationship, but he didn't think it was his place to say anything. He worried his jealousy was coloring his perspective, seeing things too negatively. Now he wished he pushed harder like his gut told him, got Alice to see that the relationship was no good for her.

When Alice forgave Ian and tried to make it work, Shaun couldn't just sit back and let it happen.

So, yeah, Shaun's opinion of Ian in the present day is very negative. He views Ian as a toxic, manipulative, cheating scumbag who didn't deserve Alice. It was a relief when he managed to help Alice see that too so that she could finally end that toxic relationship. He was there for her so many nights when she cried over Ian and missed him. He saw the pain Ian put Alice through, and it just made his hatred of Ian grow.

Ian is grateful for Shaun being there to help Alice and even getting her to the hospital, but that doesn't get rid of his jealousy. Shaun and Alice are still talking even though she never picks up the phone for Ian anymore. He sees their exchanges online. They're still close. Shaun could one day sweep in and...

Ian can't let that happen. He can't let Shaun steal away the person who means so much to him. He can't let Alice just let him go like this. He just has to apologize to Alice, keep apologizing, and everything will be fine.

Sooooo... yeah, suffice to say, Ian and Shaun do not get along, and I doubt that they ever will... at least in my headcanons.

TSAMS/LAES character headcanons

Some headcanons I have :)

Sun:

•When Sun is stressed, he will plop on his bed and snuggle with his cats.

•At first, Sun was kinda jealous of Solar from how close he and Moon were, but then Solar told him that Moon still loved him, so they’re cool.

•Sun likes whenever he gets compliments, especially from Moon, since he doesn’t get them that often.

•He has read Warrior Cats. If not, I’m forcing it upon him to read all 100+ books.

•He will dress up his cats for Halloween and other special occasions/holidays.

Moon:

•He wears Solar’s shirt/sweatshirt after he died, and refuses to take it off until Solar’s back.

•He loved hanging with Solar, because he actually got Moon, and they probably made a playlist of songs they listened to, and moon still listens to it. Their favorite is ‘Bloom’ by ‘The Paper Kites’.

•Moon likes podcasts.

•Everytime he passes by one of his siblings, he gives a small: ‘Hi ___!’

Earth:

•Earth has a flower crown/flower garden and each flower is color coded to someone she cares about. (E.i.: Sun-Sunflower, Lunar-Light Blue orchid, etc.)

•Earth likes Journaling, but sometimes will draw in it. She has a lot of stickers, post it notes, coloring utensils and washi tape.

•Earth is an excellent braclet maker and braider.

•Sometimes when she is bored, so will read some of Lunar’s comic books.

Lunar:

•He probably has a secret small room/closet where he just paints on the walls. Only Gemini and maybe Earth knows about this.

•Like Eclipse, Solar and Frank, Lunar has a strong connection to Gemini.

•If Lunar had a pocket or a pair of overalls, he would carry Spigot around in it.

•Ever since he met Earth, he’s kinda been stuck to her, and sometimes when they first met he would hold on to her leg, forcing her to stay with him for a bit longer.

•Lunar is trying to learn how to braid.

Solar:

•(Going off of my first Eclipse headcanon) If/When Solar comes back, he will be able to talk to his original Sun and Moon.

•He probably had a hole is his shirt/sweatshirt, and after he died, moon stitched it up (messily) with a little orange heart.

•Solar likes podcasts.

•Solar is probably Bi.

•Solar watches over all his siblings, and sometimes will put a hand on their shoulder or hug them, which gives them chills.

Ruin:

Eclipse:

•I imagine that since he like ‘died’ died, that he can communicate with a spirit he’s connected to, so Solar Flare is his.

•He secretly does care about the others, as shown with him telling Moon: ‘You should grieve with your siblings’ ‘You should charge’ and the fact that he left Ruin alone after moon said please.

•Eclipse secretly does miss Solar, but mainly because he’s getting a bit tired of hearing everyone cry.

•He’s okay with being around Earth, but will only talk to her, and doesn’t really like it whenever she tries to put a hand on his back/shoulder.

Frank/Forkface:

•He likes the Kahoot song. It’s his theme song.

•We don’t know much about him, but I imagine he can also talk to spirits, and his is KC.

BloodMoon:

•He probabaly doodles a little signature of sign that knows it was him whenever he kills someone.

•He will sometimes play-fight his other half when bored.

•He may possibly have a smol Rotrick/tails plushie.

Gemini/Castor & Pollux:

•Pollux likes taking things from the lost and found, and this is how she found her iconic hair clips I draw her in.

•They are still a bit angry at Lunar, but really miss him and want to see him again.

•Castor and Pollux loved racing Lunar for fun.

•They like watching Bluey with Nebula.

•Sometimes they send fake notes to Lunar, or imagine Lunar is writing to them, kinda like Evan and Connor in ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.

•Pollux and Nebula are trying to learn how to braid hair.

KC/Solar Flare & others:

•Sometimes Sun, Moon, Earth, Solar and Lunar will have sleepovers and just sleep in one big pile like Mudwings.

•I imagine Nebula likes watching SmokeeBee, Blixemi and Bellasaurus on YT.

•Jack O’ Moon has a blue sqeaky dog bone that he likes to chew on. And possibly a collar.

•KC and Solar Flare help the new spirits that come to wherever they are. They also like eating Ice Cream.

•Everyone has plushies of each other, and when they have a bad dream about them they hug the plush of that person, kind of like they’re comforting them. Solars has been hugged A LOT lately.

•Whenever Lunar and Eclipse pass each other, they smirk and both say: ‘Idiot.’ Then keep walking, like it’s some kind of joke they do.

FAQ Behind The Curtain

How do you draw so fast?

I'm currently double majoring in Animation and Creative Writing. I'm built different and also just, not trying very hard on most of these drawings. Drawing fast is kind of the backbone of animation and I've noticed coloring everything makes most people assume whatever line quality or level of finish on the outlines is a stylistic choice rather than laziness. What program do you use? I used Clip Studio Paint until about #021 when I picked up after haitus and used Procreate out of comfort and convenience. Do you use stock backgrounds or make them as you go? Every time I decide a scene needs a new background I draw it out in it's entirety and save it to my collection of backgrounds to use. So yeah, I'm not redrawing the background every single time it appears, I'm basically building out the meteor one room at a time in hopes of one day not having to draw backgrounds anymore. Where do you get the space photos? NASA's Hubble Space Telescope team has politely made all of the telescopes published photographs public domain, I imagine as a service to the planet as the intersection between photographers and people able to go that far into space is understandably zero. Font/Handwriting questions I stopped handwriting for most panels as I realized my best handwriting is all caps and it would be a shame if Karkat was the only character anyone could understand. I still use handwritten text for "special speech" which is whispers, and shouting, anything that's supposed to feel or sound radically different from the rest of the yapping. It did take me a while to settle on a font, I found a really good one for Dave that didn't have apostrophes and gave everyone else a typewriter font for a while, until I found the alternate version of the font I used for Dave that had all the special grammar symbols and numbers I could ever need. It's called the Atari font in the actual file but I have no idea if Atari ever actually used this version of it. Does the ask box ever close? When will my question be answered? It doesn't close and I have more questions than I'll probably ever answer. Some are confused about canon, others have had the core idea of their question asked multiple times already and I just didn't feel like collecting them all as screen shots. And some I just don't have answers for. Some get deleted because I don't like the tone, don't get the joke or found a typo particularly difficult to parse. No biggie. Questions will be answered if and when I feel like drawing a comic for it. Some questions are a better starting point for a comic than others, don't take it personally. Can the characters still talk to John and Jade? Can they run into them in the dream bubbles? According to canon, no. According to this blog, also no. Do you take magic anons? No. While I've gotten flimsy on the vlog framing device in order to make a more entertaining comic overall, the truth still remains that anything beyond messages in a digital inbox from some far off unspecified rift in paradox space would have some pretty immersion breaking implications on the setting overall. I know I answered a question offering Dave some clothes but the clothes were not given to him, I used it more as a prompt for him to take the clothes he already had out of the dryer. Is this blog safe for minors? This blog contains canon typical violence and themes, however when it comes to sexual content (the one thing minors absolutely CANNOT legally interact with) this blog is rated T for teen. Think like The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother. Sex can be implied and a frequent topic of conversation but never occurs on screen. Ultimately it's up to you and maybe your parents to decide if you can handle the blogs contents as you are responsible for curating your own online experience. TLDR if you're old enough to be on tumblr you should be fine.

Some things i thought about:

Law never referred to Rosinate as her "Father", but she always called him "Cora" since she was a child. When in public situation everybody seems to be weirded out by the silly nickname Law gave to her tutor, but Rosinate always laugh when it happens (Maybe sometimes Law called him "Dad" when she is not thinking about it and Rosinate cry everytime it happenes "Doffy, she called me Dad, I'm her Dad!!")

Law's family died cause of a disease when Law a child, and Rosinate was designed as her tutor by her father testament. Rosinate never tried to replace Law's father. Rosinate never really knew how to handle a child at the beginning was very scared

When Law expressed her desire to study medicine, Rosinate bought her a book immediately even though Doflamingo got mad about it, stating that women should have more feminine hobbies

When it was the time for Law to debute, Rosinate cried cause his child was becoming an adult and he didn't want to let her go, but it knew it was the time to let her live her life. He gifted her a dress that Law hated, but she wore it anyway cause, deep down, she wanted to make Cora happy

The night Law met Luffy she was very interested in that weird guy, cause he seemed as bored as her to be there. Luffy was the first to approach, and he started the conversation metioning Law's spots. "You look like a leopard." And Law was about to cause a scene, but then Luffy started to laugh, "It's cute" and Law's heart melted

hi, correct me if i'm wrong but i seem to remember you saying that you're majoring in illustration! i'm currently in the process of applying to colleges and i plan on majoring in illustration as well, so i was wondering if you had any advice for portfolios. I could really use some tips on the presentation aspect specifically, bc I'm a little lost when it comes to stuff like the arrangement/organization of pieces, how I should crop my pictures, etc. any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated!!

hi yes i can totally help you out with this! i like to think my college portfolio was pretty good bc i got accepted to every school i sent it to lol :) the main pieces of advice that i was given when building it were this:

studies and pieces that show off your technical skill are great, but limit them to around a third of your portfolio at most. art schools DO want to see that you're technically skilled and can like, draw a charcoal still life or a self-portrait, because those ARE important skills to have, but ESPECIALLY if you're applying to a school that's more known for contemporary fields like animation or illustration, it's much more likely that they want to see your creative mind at work. the single best thing you can put in your portfolio is a BODY OF WORK, and specifically a body of work that shows off your own ideas and your own take on whatever you're producing. this means 3+ pieces that are interconnected or related to the same central theme. my portfoilo, for example, consisted of 2 or 3ish traditional, technical pieces which showed that I had a certain level of technical skill, and the ENTIRE rest of it was devoted to a series of original interconnected narrative comics I'd written and drawn. Every reviewer I met with told me that this was what made my portfolio stand out to them--it showed that I was not only technically skilled, but that i had something i wanted to DO with that skill, that I had direction and drive with my art and was able to produce work that reflected that. If you're maybe (definitely) not quite as ambitious as me, something like a series of 3-5 interconnected illustrations or a short comic if you're into that might do the same thing.

as a side note, if you DO have a body of work as the central focus of your portfolio, a lot of colleges will be interested in your process as well! for example with my comic portfolio, i used one slot to demonstrate my process, because I penciled every page traditionally before digitalizing it and i had extensive character and worldbuilding sketches. I wouldn't devote more than one slot to it, but if you have a body of work where the process is important to you it could be worth throwing in!

arrangement is tricky, but the advice I generally heard was "put your best stuff first." whatever you're most excited about, whatever is going to grab someone's attention the fastest, that's what you want to have in your first slot. (I actually don't think I followed this advice on my applications LOL but it's what i was TOLD to do and i think it's solid advice.)

in terms of editing, assuming we're talking about traditional pieces being photographed, you want to make sure your pieces are 1. well-lit, (DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHOTOS WITH OVERHEAD LIGHTING. wait for an overcast day and take them outside trust me) 2. legible, (no weird shadows obscuring parts of the piece, high-quality enough that no details are lost due to digital pixelation, etc) and 3. as color-accurate to real life as you can make them. most of this is just about getting a decent-quality camera (a newer iphone should be fine) and a good location. (outside and overcast, as previously mentioned) you may want to throw your pics into photoshop and play with the balance slightly, but I wouldn't do anything too drastic, try to get the most accurate photo possible without any editing. (if your pieces are small and flat, scanning them in may work better. most public and school libraries have scanners you can use for free.)

finally, cropping. the general rule that I was taught is to crop the piece, not the photograph. if you've got a piece on paper and you're not sure you like how the actual drawing is oriented on the paper, crop the PAPER down to size, and THEN photograph it. your photos should aim to show the ENTIRE piece from edge to edge (unless it's a detail shot obv) and I even like to include a little bit of extra "breathing room" around the piece so that it's clear exactly where the dimensions of it end. here's a piece I used for my college portfolios for reference:

i lowkey do not like this piece now but that's not the point. this is what i mean by breathing room--a few extra inches of space around the actual canvas so it's clear that this isn't a closeup and you can see where the canvas actually ends. the same is true for digital pieces. if it's a full bleed illustration (something with full color all the way to the edges of the canvas) just make sure you like the composition cropped the way it is and submit the full piece as-is. if it's a floating spot or something similar without hard edges, leave a bit of white or transparent breathing room around the edge of your image.

Aunn: The Kappa told the Tengu, and the Tengu told Sanae, and Sanae told the Tengu to tell us so we could work in tandem to keep the villagers safe.

Marisa: Then why the hell are you way up here instead of actually going down and helping out?!?

Aunn: Because, with no one up here to distract her, Reimu can focus on stopping the quake. (Actually, let’s go inside)

Aunn: Reimu is capable of talking to spirits, even from far away. She can even emit a calming qura to influence how they feel.

Marisa: I... I didn't know she could do all that…

Aunn: These abilities are necessary for every Hakurei shrine maiden to master. They are essential to her role as our peacekeeper.

Aunn: As we speak, Reimu is conversing with the earthly spirits, Listening to their plight, assuaging their fears, gaining their favor, and diffusing the situation. If she can pull that off, we could be seeing little to no damage here.

Okay so this based on a Dragon Ball comic about how Dende (Kami) influences the Earth’s chi to keep it working or something. Idk it’s been a bit and I couldn’t find it again. A shame cause I really like that artist. Point is, that’s what inspired the comic.

Marisa would come in to tell Reimu about the earthquake, Aun would explain that Reimu is dealing with it with aura manipulation (which isn’t exactly what I had in mind but is apparently a canonical power of hers).

Then Yukari would come out of the house taking both Marisa and Aunn by surprise. She kindly asks them to go help the human villagers, but with this rancid energy, like she’d do something horrible if the two of them don’t leave. So the two get goin’ since they really should help however they can, and Reimu is left at the shrine alone with a silent Yukari.

Time skip to that night where Kasen drops by to commend Reimu and finds her hunched over her kotatsu. Aunn is curled up in her lap and Marisa is hugging her from the back, her own face buried in Reimu’s neck. The implication being that while Reimu did solve the earthquake, Yukari had said or done something terrible afterwards. Kasen picks up on this and, without mentioning Yukari, praises Reimu’s level-headedness and diplomatic approach this time. “The same shrine maiden I met (however many) winters ago would not have handled things so smoothly.” Just the praise Reimu needs more of.

Honestly that might make a good fanfiction since it doesn’t rely too much on visuals. Maybe I’ll write that, maybe not. If someone else did or wanted my help making it that’d be nice but I don’t think some magic man is gonna save my ass like that.

I'm considering drawing fanart now, especially since I saw the suggestion of drawing my personal OCs in your fairy au, and I realized.... I have an oc. That I created recently. Like so recently that I haven't even named her yet. And she's already kinda fairy-like??? She's the result of a one-night stand between Leo and a random bird yokai who decided to dump the egg on Leo (it's the accidental baby acquisition trope except its more like you-really-should-have-expected-this-leo baby acquisition XD)

Don't worry though, she's not bird-like enough to want to eat your fairy boys if she met them. She's basically just a feathered turtle who loves shiny things, and I haven't even finalized her design but now I wanna draw her as a fairy haha. I do know her feathers are blue-purple-pink-ish with red streaks, so her colour scheme matches Fairy Leo haha

And I know the idea of making a whole entire comic can seem overwhelming, but have you considered viewing it as just doodling and practicing? For my own au comic I only have one part drawn so far and it is the first part, but I'm planning to just draw any part of the story at any point in time, just depending on what I feel like. Cuz no one says you have to do it the "normal" way, right? And I like to think of drawing the comic pages as practicing new skills, like learning how to do page layouts and composition better. Aka focus on the journey and not the end goal.

I dunno if I could ever make, like, a long-form webcomic or anything like that-- but I'm definitely planning on doing at *least* a few mini-comics to elaborate on the story! And maybe build my way up to something longer and more fulfilled :D As of now, I'm trying to experiment with different comic styles on my own time so I can try and find something that's quick and easy, but still looks decent. I like the idea of treating it as essentially a glorified doodle page. Honestly, as soon as I try to take any of my stories too seriously, I burn out fast-- so I'm trying to stay pretty chill about this one and just making content whenever I feel like it lol

Yup, I'm totally cool with everyone drawing their OCs as fairies if they want to! It's not like I own the idea or anything lmao. The only caveat is that I have jurisdiction over whether or not something is canon to my particular au. Leo and the rest of the boys are still canonically kids/teenagers to me, and I've been writing/drawing them as kids this entire time, so I won't be including anything/anyone related to one of them having a "one night stand" with somebody. I can't really police what anyone else draws though, so have fun :D

I...I didn't want it to happen, I really wish I hadn't been spoiled, I'm so confused about this comic right now. I thought I'd be able to decide if I can drop it or continue reading it the moment the next chapter gets updated, but it's making me feel really confused and lost while still being curious about what in the world is going on. On that aspect, I feel the writer is really very skilled on having people intrigued.

But I really would have had gotten a better idea if I saw these with the drawings, probably.

I can't draw anything at the moment with the plot going like this and I feel like I need another chapter or two to get a clearer idea. 159 didn't stop me, but 160 did, it's just... there are still no answers yet. Maybe they'll keep dragging this on till the anime ends. If this anime's going to get a third season, they better wrap this well, I do care about the hikaai ship and I want Ai to be happy but what I'd like the most to happen is to have the story MAKE SENSE in some way. The author knows what's going on, as for me, I need at least 2-5 more chapters of development regarding just what this chapter is supposed to discuss

so below: here's what I picked up for now, I just.. really can't go on without leaving my thoughts about what I encountered.

So everything I've been thinking about Hikaru's been right...according to his words.

>Nino says the only thing Kamiki's ever done (in a physical sense) about Ai's case is that he "talked" about her to Nino and Ryosuke, and that caused them to break for some reason?

>Nino and Ryosuke approached him first and he had no idea they were obsessed with Ai, so he considered them as his friends.

>Kamiki did not kill Gorou, it was Nino and Ryosuke who went and did it and he didn't go to the hospital because he was concerned that Ai didn't want to meet him. Nino and Ryosuke heads to the hospital and kills Gorou and hides his body. Kamiki did tell them about the hospital Ai was admitted though.

>He REALLY did just want to send a bouquet to Ai and he asked Ryosuke to do it for him (I can't even recall just how many times I said that should be it)

GOODNESS, THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I THOUGHT THINGS WOULD BE. I made a few analyses in the past and let me bring them again:

If Ryosuke, Nino, and Kamiki are connected in some way,

the one most likely to be acquainted with Ryosuke is Nino.

Ryosuke is a big fan of B-Komachi and Ai and even personally handed over stardust sand at a handshake event. If Ai remembered him as a fan, he must have been either extremely enthusiastic in his activities or conspicuous in some other way. Given Nino’s interest in and jealousy of Ai, it’s highly likely she took notice of Ryosuke.

If Nino found out that Ai planned to have babies, she might see it as an obstacle to Ai’s career as the perfect idol. So, she could have coaxed Ryosuke by revealing this information and formed some kind of collaboration. < this turned out to be 90% true, Nino and Ryosuke knew each other and were even far as dating....

Actually, the idea that he deliberately revealed Ai’s address to have Ryosuke kill her<—there are so many strange things about this if you examine it. It seems more like he carelessly let the address slip while drunk. If it’s true that he revealed the address, that is. When he was feeling down after being rejected, Ryosuke might have said he would go congratulate her on Kamiki's behalf, so Kamiki could have told him the address then (Yes, this speculation sounds stupid... I also think it’s unlikely...he can't be that dumb but). Even if they met for the first time at the hospital, they could have been friends for about four years and he might have been too drunk to judge the situation.

No matter what, he probably didn’t want to kill Ai. < Kamiki says he only prepared the bouquet for Ai.

>As he says this, he's probably a bit agitated, towards Aqua, saying oh? Don't accuse me for what's happened! what DID I do? I did nothing at all! I didn't kill Ai! They did whatever they wanted on their own!!

I need to see what expressions he makes as he says this, that would matter tbh because if Kamiki feels he's being wrongly accused by his own son, I feel like that'd show at least a little bit through his expressions because MAN... that sounds like suffering. but if he's composed, he's still an actor.

>Aqua's reaction towards this is like: Oh, but you want to kill Ruby right? She's your own daughter!!

>Upon hearing this, Kamiki's face turns really creepy and weird (I got a photo that goes with it.. it actually does remind me of the time where Ai told she wants to break up with him with the mouth deforming a little, but it's SUPER CREEPY) while he says: "You're just like me now."

>Aqua says Kamiki manipulates people into killing people while his hands remain clean

>Kamiki says something like: You have those same eyes as I do, it makes you have your way with people and lets you get what you want. You're also guilty of instigating them to do things.

>Aqua says "Yeah, you and I are the same, but Ruby's different. She has eyes that speak of love and she's light. I need you gone for her sake" and draws out a knife.

What I get from this is that, Kamiki does have some sort of power that can make people act out - but I feel like it's unpredictable..

and that power has to do with the star eyes. They finally mention the eyes in this one. Ruby's eyes(white star) is related to love = the god who loves people, the black star should be the one that's irrational and unpredictable, really powerful but disastrous. I feel Kamiki's been possessed by that for a very long time.

Um, here's a theory I had way back in July:

it's really interesting if you start to take kamiki as a god of some sort, because that'd explain how he's unintentionally caused others to grow insane by the things he's said. He told Uehara about Airi and he ends up killing her. He told Ryosuke about Ai and he stalks and murders her. Maybe he's been subconsciously using his divinity of a god making people to take action but it ended up all twisted and it doesn't work out the way he originally intends for it to be. With the case of Yura, what he's said about her ends up coming true too, maybe she really didn't watch her steps on the mountains but that was because of his powers of a god that's caused it?

This would explain why the police never found him suspicious after Goro and Yura's death and the other murders (if he's really caused any/and more of it), there's no way to prove he's the one that'd done it because he really didn't do it in a physical sense.

So Ai, who's returned to being a god now, could be trying to stop him through her children? And Tsukuyomi is getting involved in this because Kamiki's going out of line as his duties as a god(although he doesn't know if he's one) too?

Can't this be it?

Would this guy.. really have wanted Gorou and Ai to die? For what reason exactly?? I can't really think of any good reason he'd have felt the need to do so, if everything he's said himself is true.

This whole idea of Kamiki never having played a part in anything in a physical sense makes perfect sense. I feel like the important thing here is whether he wanted to cause it or not.

I don't know about everything else but WHY would he want to hurt Ai who's having his children? He literally states he loves her, and he still brings bouquets to her grave? The stuff he says to have done fits the way I view his character and how he's used to be when he was young. He really didn't do anything. Yet things go horribly wrong and people keep dying around him. So I feel like he wouldn't have manipulated Nino and Ryosuke into murdering her. His life would suffer less without her death, don't you think?;

So if this is true, then all my theories since July about this guy are totally correct and he's a really unfortunate guy who really does love Ai(we STILL don't know what he's done after her death and that could make him irredeemable)

But I wonder how Aqua is so convinced Kamiki's manipulated people into causing murder cases. Did Tsukuyomi tell Aqua something?;; How can he make that claim? What is the basis? Is he talking about how Kamiki's acted after Ai's died?

In that case, maybe yes. He could have been using these powers he have that he's found to bring Ai back. Here's an idea I had of it sometime back: I just brought the entire post for this one

I think Kamiki may be trying to find something precious enough to trade with Ai's life, may it be his own or someone else's???

Coming to think of it, he met Ruby at the shrine (ch147) and something about a "wish" came up. The way he speaks with ruby, it seemed like he also had his own wish that he's put a lot of thoughts into and came to accept

Mephisto and Fatal both mention about wishes and wishing.

And those wishes have to do with wishing Ai back, are they not??

I'm sorry, I've been repeating the same idea in several posts now but I JUST remembered about that chapter. He's the one that brings the idea of gods back onto the table may it be brief. He talks like he knows about their nature, so he probably is aware of gods or their significance at least, that they actually ARE capable of doing supernatural things. However, Fatal and Mephisto also mention about wishes having failed to come true. That ALSO aligns with kamiki's attitude in that particular chapter saying that gods don't really give out answers and you have to come up with your own. Whatever he's up to, the gods might not have accepted it, or are even against it.

perhaps he's wished to bring Ai back but had been failing miserably, so he's becoming more and more reckless about it.

what he says there makes me wrap my head a little, it sounds like he's been where ruby's been. He might be talking about himself and trying to convince himself of his own resolve

He says he doesn't mind rotting away himself, but there's still something he has to do before that happens. I think that'd have to do with about a wish, he has a goal to fulfill.

I found the full lyric for Fatal(the new op) and it had lyrics like

あなたがいないと生いきていけない

あなたの愛あいがまだ足たらない

ただ一ひとつのアイに近ちかづきたい

I can't live without you

I want you to light up my body with your dazzling glare

Aqua wants to get Ai's "revenge", he'd want to see Ai once more, yeah, but that isn't his goal, he doesn't work to meet her again. He plans to fulfill what Ai's really wanted by listening to what she's wanted to say

but the person in Mephisto (who is HUNGRY for Ai's affection) and Fatal actually WANTS to see Ai again, present tense.

あらゆる望のぞみの総すべてを叶かなえたら　ああ果はたせたら

あなたに会あいたい

If I could fulfill all my hopes, all my wishes, all my dreams, if I could make it all come true

I wish I could see you

But how IS this person going to make that happen?

I feel like finding someone that outshines Ai would have something to do with it, coming from how his reactions when he saw ruby having a chance to outshine Ai-

He feels happy about her possibility of her life having even more value than her.

He could just be being a proud dad there (I'm not taking that out of the possibility).. but you see where I'm trying to get at, right? He probably needs someone like that in order to fulfill his wish. Likely their life.

I think those lyrics from mephisto and fatal were there for a reason, those two songs are WAY too similar to each other in terms of the theme and the vibes they're giving. This speaker hasn't given up on the possibility of having Ai back, they talk like that is a thing that CAN happen, they keep.. talking towards them, even when the one they're talking to's already passed long ago. Look at me, You gave me time, Let me hear your voice.. stuff like that. That kind of attitude is more like Kamiki than Aqua. Kamiki talks about rotting away, he's never moved on from Ai's death, has he? It's like she's still alive for him?

So maybe?? Kamiki's trying to trade Ruby's life for Ai's or take her life for that cause because Ruby outshines her and is a good enough tribute to make that sort of exchange? I think that's what Aqua could be getting at,

Kamiki's reactions upon hearing those words seem...very strong.

If he's being falsely accused by his own son as a person who's capable of killing their own daughter for their mother, there is no way he can be so calm about that, right? So that really creepy expression he has could be him displaying his utter despair towards the situation. The words "You're just like me now" can mean a few different things, he could just be taunting Aqua, I'm not taking that out of the picture, but he could also be thinking, 'he's also become the same way I am, crossing lines and despairing while he's at it.'

I'd have to actually look at the way he talks to Aqua in that chapter, the tone of voice…

but I think there are two possibilities.

Either things really never work out the way Kamiki's wanted them to, and so he's lamenting to his son saying that, "strange things keep happening around him (when the black star eyes are turned on) and that Aqua should know what he's talking about because he's been there too"

Or maybe he's just mocking him and saying, "aren't you just like me?"

maybe both if he's been trying to revive Ai no matter the cost. Then that'd mean he's willing to (Yeah, I'm still not giving up in the idea that he does want to bring Ai back)

this chapter is wild.

Isn't there a possibility that Kamiki, could really have been a pure victim and is suffering from these insanity??

What exactly is the "mission" that's been assigned to the twins by the gods? 'If this person becomes an evil god, take them down'? LOL.

Wow, how would Ai think watching everything from heaven and see her son trying to kill his father? I don't think she'd have wanted this to happen, right?

If that sword had purification powers and when you stab someone, it goes 'away with you, evil spirits!' and the toxic energy of the black star dissipates, that would be really funny.

It can't be that everything about the past was a lie, right? Kamiki's past with Ai should still be true. They had this bond.

If none of the disastrous events he's been involved in were intentional, then Kamiki is honestly really pitiful (though, this might not apply to the events after Ai's death). And this ACTUALLY fits the direction I predicted, in a perfect sense.

If it was intentional, I don't get why. There's been no explanation about why he's doing these things, not in the previous chapter or in this one. If it was intentional, then the claim that he didn’t want to hurt Ai must also be a lie. Because at that time, he would have had to manipulate both Nino and Ryosuke, right? But that doesn't seem likely? What's the benefit of doing all that... If this character is truly the avatar of that black star god, it would make sense, but isn't he suffering way too much for that? Even if I give a hundred concessions, it seems like the past up to the point where he parted with Ai is still the truth. In that case... The actions this character is said to have took are consistent with the story he himself testified to. So as soon as I saw that part, I thought, 'Yep... This makes sense.' It fits too well with what I had in mind.

You see why I brought back the whole post about Kamiki being Sarutahiko and there's some kind of being that's trying to get back at him??

Please read this post if you haven't, honestly, I feel like this'd be the best explanation for this situation if Kamiki is someone that's "supposed to be saved."

In short, if Ai is related to Ame-no-Uzume, this guy should be related to her husband and he deals with land, guidance, and the balance of the world. Having him despair, corrupt and act out would definitely be concerning to the gods, and it could have led Tsukuyomi to assigning the twins to bring him back to the right path- this is exactly what Ai wanted to happen too?? she wanted to help him if he's still lost.

But Aqua might be thinking Kamiki's been doing all these things on purpose and he wants him gone for good since he's too corrupt at this point.

It IS about time they start discussing these elements being thrown out there so I enjoy it, but I'm still really confused. I do think Kamiki is speaking the truth about Ai...;;

I thought I’d decide whether to continue reading or drop this series after the next chapter... but the fact that the next chapter also pulls me in shows that this author has solid skills. It’s really something.

As I mentioned before, I don’t think blaming all the evil and cause on a single crazy mastermind would make for a good story in terms of the theme of this manga.

For one, I don't believe Ai's death can ever be solely because of Kamiki.(and it doesn't seem like it is but we ain't still sure? Can we be safe about this now?)

Just to add, I'm a 'prophet-type,' you know? An INFJ-

Uh...I feel like I might be able to predict quite a few things. Hahah I do get a lot of things right in the end.

As for making more fan creations... it's kind of tough right now because the story is so unpredictable; it’s hard to draw anything new when I can’t get a grasp on things. I think I need to take a little break for now. And it just so happens that Persona 3's DLC is coming out this week, so I’ll be playing that instead.

But if the story unfolds the way I predicted, it will explain why Ai asked to help Kamiki if he's lost or struggling.

And in my opinion, everything in this manga should ultimately unfold according to Ai’s wishes. A story where Ai ends up looking foolish by falling for some strange person wouldn’t fit, in my view.

Anyway, Kamiki does make the story more interesting whenever he shows up. What kind of character is this guy, seriously?

His son doesn’t trust him, pointing a sword at him, his girlfriend is dead, and while it seems like he’s done a lot, I still think it could only have been for Ai’s sake. If this is all a misunderstanding, then that’s really unfortunate for him. Anyhow he gets into the weirdest and most tragic situations.. even if he has a great appearance, I really wouldn't want to trade my life with his. Even if he's a bad guy, having your own son point a knife at you, being accused to try attempt murder of your own daughter, have the love of your life die by someone who you considered as a friend SEEMS TERRIBLE. Really?? would he have asked for all this to happen? I think he's cursed. He is indeed cursed.

If he's not a bad person, then Ai, save your boyfriend. What a life he has. If he isn't.. well.. then I drop this series because I have no idea what the story will be or maybe I won't, I'll just cross my arms and see just where this manga would end up in the end. But Ai wants him saved. That's the most important thing there is about this guy in terms of future plot deveopment I think?

So, till the next chapter drops! I'll maybe be able to make more analysis when the actual chapter drops and I see the images.

The In-Depth Look at Julie-Su Part 7: Knuckles #24-28

The cover for issue 24 is a accurate portrayal of Julie's role in the issue. She hangs upside down then there's a explosion that frees her. There's a big plot hole due to the fact that when Knuckles & Julie-Su were kidnapped in issue 23 they were with the Chaotix. The Chaotix do not show up in issue 24 at all. They were just forgotten about again. Sigh.

Issue 25 takes place right after the events of the previous issue with Knuckles examining some robot head left over from the Dark Legion Headquarters.

Another plot hole I remembered while looking at this scene again is that Julie-Su has already met Knuckles's Dad back in issue 22. But according to this scene it seems like Knuckles didn't even know his dad was alive. Didn't Julie tell him? At all? It seems like a very important thing that she should have told him about.

Speaking of forgetting Knuckles leaves Julie behind. He doesn't rush back to tell her that something came up and they'll meet up later. He doesn't even bother to leave a note. Just walks away as if to say she's not of any importance to him overall. It's kind of similar to how Penders himself has treated Julie over various issues.

Needless to say she's enraged and I don't blame her one bit.

Issue 26 features Julie-Su on the cover drawn by Manny Galan. He does not draw the main story but the back up story instead for the next three issues.

The issue starts with Julie-Su still very angry at Knuckles for leaving her behind. (The editor's note on this two page spread explains what happened last issue.)

I went to look up to see if Julie's brown pouch with a strap was a actual product and it is.

Maybe it's just me but if Julie really wants to not think about Knuckles for a while perhaps walking into a city full of Knuckles knockoffs won't help.

Speaking of here's a Knuckles variant with a ugly green belt.

Ugghhh that summer hat does not go with her outfit at all. The colors clash too much. I would have picked this hat instead.

Onto to the back up someone who will become a important character in Ian Flynn's run reappears. She was last seen way back in 1995.

It's a little surprising that a character with such in a significant role in the main Archie Sonic comic emerged from a Knuckles back up story. Along with Julie-Su I miss Fiona so much.

A stealth type Knuckles certainly isn't.

Looks like the setup for a stage play production with that lighting and color choice.

End of issue 27. Issue 28 starts up with Lara-Le visiting Julie first thing in the morning.

I'm not going to lie in the summer when it's extremely hot & humid during the night I'll also wear a very long pajama shirt that goes past my knees. It's much more comfortable then wearing short shorts. Although it doesn't make sense that she's still wearing her gloves.

Lara-Le with miscolored red hair makes her look way to similar to Lien-Da in my opinion.

After their talk Julie-Su gets ready for her date with Knuckles. But what he doesn't know is that she's actually preparing to take him to a surprise birthday party.

The next scene would have made me so happy if it wasn't drawn the way it was. I remember back in the day fan artists redrawing this exact scene because while the idea behind it is sound the execution is not.

It looks like he's trying to eat her face. Nom nom nom.

Who would the Frontier kids meet and hang with from other series?

Since yesterday it was Odaiba day, I will finally reply to an ask from this Anon, whose identity I know because @teclajellymon isn’t skilled at hiding secrets lmaoooooo. She wanted to only ask about Izumi and Junpei but she had to act like a chameleon, you know ahahahha.

• Takuya: I mean, you’d think a googlehead should be placed by the side of another one. And I do understand that, the official did the same as well, but can I change the rules a bit? I want to see Takuya and Sora interacting, because Sora reminds me of Rin from Yes!5 and Rin from Yes!5 is voiced by the same woman voicing Takuya, who also said she wished Takuya was a girl like Ri-

OK. I just think they’d share they football passion together and it would be cute? Besides the fact aesthetically they would look really pleasant together, they both also are fire themed. I’d like to see them playing together and if Taichi wants to join, why couldn’t he?

Still, among the googleheads, I think the one I would like to see interacting with Takuya is Marcus…? I want them to kill each other, yes?

Kouji: He’s kinda easy, because I really like that Cd cover where he stared at Yamato playing his harmonica, dreamy eyed. I know it’s kinda lame Kouji is being put with a loner wolf, so I’m taking a safe route, but I honestly can’t get rid of that image printed in my head. Hmmm someone else, someone else, idk. Help. Maybe he could meet Takeru? If he met Yamato, he would meet Takeru as well and Takeru has got a Patamon. Since Kouji was often seen getting Patamon’s attention in the original season, Takeru’s would bring him memories.

• Izumi: Of course, when it comes to your favs you have got ton of ideas. Ton. Let’s say I will write a little bonus down here for Junpei and Izumi, so, for now, I’ll just temporise ahhahah. Many pair Izumi with Miyako, but I would honestly be curious to see how a meeting between Ruki and Izumi would play. Once a friend of mine drew Izumi and Ruki collaborating in modelling together (Ruki was the photographer, Izumi was the model of the photoshoot), but I want to picture them together more because Seki Producer liked saying Izumi “is actually more similar to Ruki than Mimi”. How? At what extent? What did you mean, SekiP? We will never know imo, but maybe if Ruki and Izumi got to know each other…

• Junpei: OF COURSE, same identical tale as old as time like when it comes to Izumi. So many ideas for my boy, I’d make him even meet Taichi and I think they’d go along. During my Adventure 01 “rewatch”, I truly found myself spotting a piece of Junpei in so many characters ahaha. Taichi has got a scene in which he drives some kind of crane in a factory and Frontier’s episode 5, the one in which Junpei drives one as well, blatantly is a homage to that. Needless to say, Junpei has also got something in common with Jyou, whom he met in an official comic (during which Junpei doesn’t miss the chance to compliment Izumi in front of strangers and in her absence lmaoooo); moreover, in the first Frontier ending, Junpei reading his homework on the stairs is another clear homage to 01, to a scene focusing on Jyou, though I can’t recall which episode it was and I apologize.

Still, and I’ve already said it, I ABSOLUTELY want Junpei to meet Ruri. I want him to become envious of her little detective life and bugging her by sticking his nose in whatever digital mystery she’s on. The Great Detective Shibayama meets the fantastic Ririrun! I need to draw them *wants to explode*. Maybe Junpei could affect Ruri with his fantasies about owning a series, who knows.

Junpei would also so funny with Miyako, I swear. The 02 x Frontier pic did place them in a mirroring position and I just adore it lol. They can eat together while talking about their crush, even if Miyako does yell much more than Junpei lmao. Bingo. I think Junpei would admire her technological skills and would evolve in Bolgmon to gain maths intelligence lmao x 2.

• Tomoki: I have played the Takeru card and I don’t really care? Because I want Tonoki to join the Tamers younger kids for once, though we know nothing about Ai and Mako, and unfortunately about Shaochung as well. But ehy, we can come up with headcanons and make these babies have fun. If Impmon acts as a bully like usual, Tomoki will have someone to deal with, though…

• Kouichi: He doesn’t give me any problem like his twin (good boy, Kouichi). Thanks to some people from this fandom, I have jumped on the boat of Kouichi and Hikari, not necessarily on a shipping level. I can see it. I can see Juri boarding as well, but Juri is way too hyperactive to Kouichi’s tastes imo. Hikari is a bit quieter and more considerate. He would put him at ease just like his twin does www.

• Bonus: Koumi x Junzumi

And here I can say : aren’t shippings ending with umi so beautiful at this point ?

Talking again about my 01 rewatch, I can confirm to myself early Mimi does remind me of Junpei a lot, which is a sacrilege but, ehm, seriously…???? I don’t blame some dude playing in their stories about Junpei being a Jyoumi son, because he’s really a mix of them. People usually like connecting Junpei with Koushiro (and I do too lol) because of the electric/thunder bug theme, but I also adore creating scenarios for Junpei and Mimi ahahah, two spoiled kids coming from rich families always complaining about needing to eat, sleep, getting disgusted so easily….Two needles stuck up your butt, speaking bluntly ahahha.

I have got a lot of ideas about Junzumi x Koumi . In my hcs Izumi will open a restaurant someday and I do believe Mimi would love visiting it. Then, she would invite Izumi to her cooking tv show and Junpei would stop underlining how wife is much better than this Mimi Tachikawa who has come from who knows where. Do you know my wife won two contests, is Gambero Rosso’s favourite guest, her restaurant received compliments from both Terramadre and Slowfood-

Junpei, shut up and let the girls play.
