Decided to post a small thing while I’m at it. I was listening to ROAR’s Christmas Kids for the first time this morning, and it took me a few lyrics to get a gist of the meaning. And the direction my scatterbrain would go with it.

The good thing about having Cryptid Sightings and Sleuth Jesters brainrot at the same time, though, is the fact that you get to switch between them in your head!! Oh, and yeah. I haven’t had the time to post about it like I want to, but this past spring I did finish reading Sleuth Jesters!! Took me long enough, lmao. The fic is phenomenal, if you haven’t read it already. Highly, highly recommend it!! Both it and Cryptid Sightings are, naturally, written by the lovely @naffeclipse. Be warned, though, operating on the assumption that cryptid Sun and Moon are collectively called Eclipse, the Eclipse in Sleuth Jesters is way different from that in Cryptid Sightings <3

‼️ART TRIGGER WARNING: Mild body horror/gore

Sooooo I kinda unexpectedly deviated from what I would consider my normal art preferences here. Mostly because I’ve seen a lot of talented artists drawing their own renditions of menacing Puzzles fanart where he goes fully insane and whatnot. I wanted to also contribute to that trend somehow…although it’s slightly out of my usual comfort zone << especially with his recent design change of loosing his whole lower body lol. Adapting that into my art was an interesting experimental challenge

Here is my own take on Puzzles falling apart! Quite literally! I still wanted to add a bit of empathy in here for him tho— because I’m going to be so distraught if WOTFI 2024 is his resignation from the spotlight for good. His final bow on stage if you will; the grand finale of his performance before he departs in death (MAN I SURE HOPE HE DOESN’T DIE BUT THE FANDOM SPECULATIONS AND PARANOIA ARE GETTING TO MY HEAD. And it just seems like the narrative progression is leaning that way). Well not matter what happens to him this upcoming Saturday…this tragic TV guy has impacted me in unexpected ways and I’m just so glad we got to spend and entire year with his character. And he’s sure not gonna disappear from my art anytime soon. Hopefully I won’t be maiming him ever again after this though jksjsksp he’s suffered enough angst for now <3

Something really great about the persona 2 cast is that they all individually fucking SUCK to talk to casually. Every single one of them. They are all infuriating. We have:

Tatsuya, who will stare at you blankly if you try to initiate conversation (IS) and will dip without saying a word afterward (EP)

Batsuya, who will scoff and brush you off/otherwise act dismissive

Eikichi, who might honestly be the best to talk to in the IS crew and that is not saying much, who WILL talk extremely loudly over you (probably not on purpose?) and will not be paying particularly close attention to the conversation beyond whatever he wants to say (gets points for talking about his gf. gets points taken away for constantly talking about his gf)

Lisa, who will automatically assume bad faith and will be rude to you the entire conversation unless you manage to defuse her temper (good luck)

Jun, who is uncommunicative at BEST and requires an encyclopedic knowledge of flowers, metaphor and body language just to get a HINT on what he’s thinking, and who will be extremely polite but completely unhelpful. If you tried asking him what he wants for dinner I guarantee it will be the longest 30 minutes of your life as he goes “oh I have no opinion :) whatever you want. :))” EXCEPT HE DOES HAVE OPINIONS. He has SO MANY OPINIONS. He is Expecting you to be able to pick up on his “obvious” clues. He will be passive aggressive if you don’t. (Jun babygirl you suck so bad I love u)

Maya, who is a delight but will very quickly become grating if you try to talk to her about anything serious as she hits you with the white suburban mom's "how to live a happy, healthy life" lifecoach slogans. You can’t even mention, like, stepping in a puddle or something without her hitting you with the positivity beam.

Yukino is great actually. 10/10. She’s fabulous we love her. Incredible conversationalist, chill and fun and easy to get along with. But she’s from Persona One, she doesn’t Count.

Ulala, who WILL bring up her relationship problems in every conversation within 10 minutes at least once. Any longer and she will start talking about Maya.

Do I even need to explain Baofu. Have you seen him.

And finally, Katsuya, who is a cop and a kiss ass and Very Obvious about these things. Also he can't talk to women. He can barely talk to men. Help Him.

And yet they all work wonderfully as a group. They are so annoying I love them

Lore (not all of it upd 06.18.2024 now its outdated again)

Mother is a big ass scug who, from some point on, has lived with no purpose – she was just tearing things up, eating, listening to some weird metal giant god, killing more things. But as she lives and talks to "gods", she learns more about the cycle and begins to understand it more. And so she finds in herself the desire to ascend.

But at her long and dangerous journey she suddenly finds kids. Unaccustomed to company of others of her kind and having never experienced the burden of motherhood before, she was, of course, confused and silly about it. But the heart of a fierce predator has thawed, and so as the silliness.

Mother began to think about her initial goal: what is it worth? Does Mother really want to decide the fate of the kids for them, dragging them into the sea, just because of her selfish desire to leave this world? Or abandon them? Mother is disgusted to the core at the very thought of it.

And really, is life that pointless and not worth living?

She has a new goal. Find a place where children will have a happy, somewhat peaceful childhood. Where they will always be fed, where they will not be dragged away by merciless predators at any second. Where Mother can teach them everything she knows herself.

got a little too insane about my woy oc and somehow ended up planning an entire au (well idk if it counts as an au, because its just an imagining of season 3) and started worldbuilding dominator's home planet and thinking about a potential backstory for her

ramblings and explanations under the cut for anyone interested

so after the finale when dominator's stuff got all blown up and whatnot, so in s3 shes trying to rebuild and enact her revenge ofc (the whole amount of stuff i have planned for the au is a lot more complicated but it does also feature Emperor Peepers!)

most ppl say she came from a dif galaxy but i like to think she actually is just from a real small planet on the outskirts and that she had social issues her whole life bc of her general love of destruction.

I think volcania 5 would have a big focus on the themes of warmth and rebirth part of lava instead of the whole destruction thing, to dom's dismay haha

thinking about dom's backstory, on principal of who she is, and what she means for wander's themes and arcs, i dont want to give her a tragic backstory, but more so one where if she acted even somewhat differently it would not have happened

i think from a very young age she was shit at socials, and bullied other kids bc she liked the feeling of power that came with it, so she never really had any friends. and i dont want it to be all "no one gave her a chance to be a friend 🥺 " kinda thing. nah she was given CHANCE AFTER CHANCE. but that combined with her need for control not a lot of people actually enjoyed being around her. To make matters worse Volcania generally raises children communally, so there was no family per se to love her unconditionally

Okay onto the worldbuilding for volcania 5!

The ipvo ring is an artificial ring and is used for intraplanatery travel (like an interstate) Ipvo stands for intra planetary Volcania. Bc there are many planets who have ip rings and for ease of reference they are labled for the respective planet

Also theres a whole thing with lava manipulation technology being banned for being too powerful (the bottom right is mostly focused on that)

Basically my idea was that shortly before their space age, lava manipulation was discovered, and subsequently used to establish a dictatorship. It was violent and terrible, but they gained a lot of tech knowledge that let them gain space travel

Eventually though the dictatorship is overthrown and lava manipulation is banned for being too powerful (kinda viewed how nuclear devices are viewed irl, they got a lot of potential harm even if stuff like nuclear power would be nice) This is taught in schools and stuff but dominator is ofc like "YOOO THATS TIGHT, HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON THAT"

Eventually she hollows out the volcanium core of volcania to make a basic vers of her ship and then makes a bigass bomb she puts into the hollow core

The moons survive tho, so after the finale she slinks off to zon to rebuild!

thats basically it for now bc i dont want to write a whole essay in here haha! But if anyone is interested I will talk about more stuff like the general ideas and arcs that i've thought about for this au (admittedly beyond dominator and my oc 1ou, i have probably only thought about peepers in a lot of detail)
