It has a lot of drawbacks, but suprisingly (and luckily) this gun has some advantages that some more creative and handy folk can find in such curiousity. Background

RaR .22 was made by BLST around 2013 and it's production only lasted around a year. Jeremiah mentions investigating manufacturer and apparently, RaR .22 was one of few reasons behind BLST shutting down. Jeremiah also mentions how it's design is really weird, but uses a fairly cheap and controllable bullets. Gun is also seen by some as weird, due to it being seen fairly rare and is compared to improvised weapons. Jeremiah has found one RaR .22 and restored it and customizing it as a "B.O.B.-22" and it got some custom touches. While game is seen as hot collectible or interesting case of good idea but bad implementation, in a series of futuristic comics "Final Frontier Fantasy" main character, Vincent Barok, is seen using gun resembling RaR .22, but a little bit futurized and with some custom parts. RaR .22 is also seen as a prop in "Danny's Den" and some gun shops along with it's picture being seen in Jeremiah's room on his gunsmithing table.

2. Overview

RaR .22 suffers from weak damage, slow firing and lack of firing and terrible spread. Reloading speed is a little bit faster than most pistols. It's customization, however, is fairly good enough to upgrade it with things like extended barrel, hi-cap magazines and stock. Some other upgrades like custom rail extensions and some custom options like more compact stock options, additional rails or intergrated laser sight shell. It's main strengh is high count of backup magazines and nice headshot multiplier. Few .22 special bullets are aviable: ricochet, cyanide and IDR (Internal Damage Rounds). RaR .22 is also probaly one of few, if not only one pistol that is also avialable as a underbarrel option. So, use RaR .22 as a special weapon to finish off targets or to get them from suprise. Or you can just spray and pray with higher mags and longer barrels.

There is few appearances outside mani character's use or inventory. But there is several noticeable custom appearances:

"B.O.B.-22" - custom version made by Jeremiah for his custom rifle. It has special stock, extended barrel, worn out cyan finish and is usually seen as a underbarrel gun for Jeremiah's customized assault rifle. Canonically, B.O.B. is named after Bob Hicks, previous owner of the gun, song "Bombs Over Baghdad" and is also acronym for "backup of the backup".

There is a small chance, that a infernal gunner will have one as his main weapon or sidearm.

Some can be found in firearm shops and are inaccesible for the player. They seem to be less-polished and colore lighter gray.

In "Danny's Den" there is one, painted ornamentally and has a stock. It is unusable and it's mostly a decoration. Skin is aviable after doing "The House of MonoGreg" side quest along with small amount of money and plushie collectable. It's called "Craig-o-Matic 2000".

3. Behind the scenes

RaR .22 is based on USFA ZiP .22 pistol, that is notorious for it's really bad quality. In universe equivalent, while not reflecting it's real-life counterpart's jams, misfeeds and misfires (mostly for game's less realistic approach to firearms and overall balance) the gun's statistics make this weapon really bad for more usual use of this gun.

Name is a play on ZiP, since ZIP and RAR are types of files used on computers, usually for storage and downloading purposes.

Description mentions "finnish guy in purple kevlar suit" and him finding one in sewers and winning another in casino. This is reference to Cruelty Squad, where ZiP .22 appears as "Zippy 3000" and is seen as worst gun, since it relies on user's luck to obtain it and firing successfully. Purple kevlar vest is a nod to the iconic suit worn by Cruelty Squad's protagonist (usually refered as MC Foxtrot), while calling this character ''finnish guy'' is both a nod to the game's country of origins and it's creator Ville Kallio. Going further, finding this gun in sewage and winning one as a prize in casino are other Cruelty Squad references, with sewer bit being how you can fish out broken Zippy 3000 and sell it for comically low price and casino part coming from winning a actually working Zippy 3000 as a prize in a roulette in a casino.

On it's more custom full-lenght stock, a worn out logo can be seen. This logo resembles logo of Stylis Studios, a roblox dev group responsible for creation of Phantom Forces, other game, where ZIP .22 appears. There is also small scribble saying "Who needs a tracker anyway?" which is a reference to a ballistic tracker in PF and how it is usually used with ZiP .22 in some builds. Several stocks version are also called "Stylis Custom".

BLST sounds like word ''blast", probably referering to term "ghetto blaster", a term for improvised weapon and a play on a term "zip gun", which is used as a term for makeshift firearms made from various parts. "Blast" also sometimes is used as a word familiar to "darn" or "damn", going more with gun's dubious quality. Name also sounds like ''bullshit''.
