I want to make a longer post about this someday but: I think Arya's TWOW arc is going to include her coming to terms with her identity as a Lady. This has been an ongoing conflict with her since her first chapter and I think her flowering in winds is going to mark a turning point. The theory of her having an apprenticeship with the courtesans holds a lot of weight and the idea of Arya going through puberty among a group of unconventional women she's fostered a positive relationship with is just too perfect. It would really have an impact on Arya reconciling her personal idea of what a Lady should be. There's also a lot that she could learn from them in terms of courtesies, communication, appearances, body-language, etc. that would elevate her current skill-set and ways her relationship with them could push the plot.
Not to mention she will undoubtedly reclaim her identity as Arya Stark, and her being a Lady is inseparable from that. Arya Stark is a Lady Stark and being a Lady is a social position, not a measure of how well someone preforms feminine tasks. She shouldn't have to relinquish her position because she doesn't fit patriarchal standards. That's not to say that she's ever going to be the perfect example of a traditional Lady but what I think will happen is that she becomes capable of playing the part. She plays several identities throughout the series but she's always been Arya underneath, so I think it's appropriate that she learns to adopt a "persona" that's part of her. Her remembering Ned putting on his "Lord's face" (+ the various examples of other characters being separate from their ruling persona) makes me think that Arya will be donning her "Lady's face" when she makes a return to Westeros.

i dont think fizz and blitz mending their relationship was that rushed. like fizz is in a good place mentally and emotionally (compared to most other characters in this show he's doing alright)
plus he didnt completely forgive blitz (or was suddenly totally ok with everything that happened), more like he's ok with him being in his life again (they've got a lot of work to do)

calling shadow 2005 a game that tried to be more mature is a bit mislead imo. it tried to be Darker and i don't think that's really comparable to being mature, not when it tried to still appeal to an audience of kids (maybe slightly older kids but kids anyway). like have you seen the promotional shadow interviews where he talks about eating doritos and hot pockets and skateboarding and hanging out with his friends? that's an entire 15-year-old how is that mature. his game is not mature it's edgy and dark and isn't afraid of being goofy either, it's an excessive and novel exploration of his character and his character is fucking edgy and his history has a lot of details and elements that make it very easy to lean into it and embrace it. shadow 2005 is not a mature game but that doesn't make it bad and i feel like if it had tried to pretend to be more mature than it was we would've ultimately been worse off for it. instead we can have a game that, while flawed, isn't afraid of being dark and edgy and full of guns and aliens and green blood while also featuring Clown Music in its ost and giving the player goofy as fuck weapons and overusing the one swearword they could get away with to a silly but memorable degree

I was fine with forgiving Greta Gerwig for splitting up Barbie and Ken and just believing that the two would reunite eventually, but today I remembered that this isn't the first time she breaks up a canon couple.
In 2019, Greta (at least implied that she) also broke up Jo March and Friedrich Bhaer, my literal OTP OF OTPS.
I get that the way the story in Barbie (2023) plays out means that Barbie and Ken's breakup makes sense and is almost something necessary, but it's really sad to me that Barbie is portrayed as never having loved Ken despite the fact that, oh I don't know, they were literally made for each other.
Once that is added to the Jo/Friedrich thing from Little Women (2019), I'm starting to think Greta doesn't believe in love 😔

Personally i found that post about Joe being "arrogant" for not showing his personality that went around a while ago a bit odd because it was very tied to a specific image of what an Actor should do to promote themselves + furthermore a specific idea on what constitutes success. There are plenty of actors who are equally private and """"personality-less""""" in the public eye and still get jobs. Joe seems to be just fine getting the jobs he wants. I think the more worthwhile convo to have is about how somebody who does not want to showcase their personality in the public eye might not mesh well with an attention lover, AND how it is pointless to assign morality to these positions – people do this in both directions.

I wanted to mention the fact that I enjoyed (mostly. lots of triggers in the movie) rewatching The Hunchback Of Notre Dame recently and thought it’d be interesting to figure out an AU for Trolls even if it never develops into a written story. Wanted to see if you’d also enjoy thinking on it!
I love Hunchback of Notre Dame, it’s arguably one of my favorite Disney movies! It’s been quite a while since my last rewatch (years maybe?). The soundtrack though I totally listen to more often.
An au you say? Sounds like a very interesting concept! Thanks for the brain storm food!

something I think people forget re: taboo fiction or art is how formative it often is for children; either by contrasting normality, or highlighting the absence of it: making kids more aware of their reality and could-be realities, testing the waters of their imagination, warming up their empathy-drive. it’s about understanding, of situations and of character, of choices made then un-made. yapping here but I’m thinking of my childhood best friend telling me in hushed tones about flowers in the attic, or us huddled together watching the phantom of the opera and wishing this time Christine will choose her ostensible (objective) abuser—who we couldn’t help but see our own insecurities in, feel connected to on account of otherness and being othered; I remember talking to her about the peach scene in call me by your name (book not movie; our friendship had stalled by that point) and that one wattpad story where a man kidnapped four girls he named after flowers and raped them; writing our own stories about torn bodies and ghosts and angels who can’t be good and magic that only ruins everything and love that is hurtful more than it is pure — stories that, to us, didn’t reflect on something miserable, only something true. I don’t know. we had only so many words/worlds to grow into; art as expression, not representation

Why is the fandom obsessed with John drowning?
Why? Do people not realize how weird that is? I get light jokes, but some of y'all get mean or graphic. It's literally one of the most traumatic moments in John's life and yet people just think it's funny to joke about it. You all wouldn't joke about Arthur being kidnapped or him dying from TB.
Additionally, you all do realize that it's LOW honor Arthur that says it, right? I have the audio files. I get the reference from rdr 1. I'm not saying never joke about it, but I'm incredibly disturbed by what I've seen lately. It's like the fandom is on crazy pills lately. More to say on this tomorrow.
(Btw, Arthur can only swim a short time as well. Additionally, not a lot of people knew how to swim back then. LOTS of the gang members probably don't know how to swim.)
