It was just supposed to be a routine night on Dynamite. You had a match against Julia Hart scheduled for the middle of the show after you and Julia had exchanged some words backstage a few days ago. Nothing you haven't done before. 

The trouble came after you managed to pull a win from Julia. You'd been minding your own business in the ring, enjoying your hard-fought victory when the BCC music hit. You've never had any beef with anyone in the BCC. But they descended to the ring like rabid dogs anyways. 

"Umm, can I help you?" You'd made the mistake of standing your ground when Moxley approached you. 

"You can get out of our ring." Moxley spits back at you. "Playtime is over. The men are in the ring now." He'd sneered at you. 

Never one to back down from a fight, even if it's one that you know you can't win. You stood your ground. "I'll leave when I'm good and ready thanks." You dared to challenge Moxley. And he didn't like that one bit. 

Before you even had a chance to get another word out, Bryan Danielson had already stepped up to the plate. He'd grabbed your arm and yanked you forward and onto your knee's before you even registered that he'd moved from Jon's side. Being half their side and caught off guard, Bryan easily kicked you around before dumping you over the top rope of the ring and sending you crashing down to the floor. You'd hit your head on the way down obviously, because the next thing you remember is being in the infirmary. 

How in the hell did you get yourself into this mess?

"Y/N?!" Matt's voice makes you open your eyes back in the medical room. 

"Matty?" You groan as you sit up, head throbbing in pain. 

You blink a couple of times in the harsh light of the infirmary. When your vision finally focuses, Matt is at your side and coddling you like his helpless baby girl. "Y/N? Oh my gosh! Are you alright? The doc said that you hit your head. What happened?" He asks you. 

"Matt." You groan again. But Matt doesn't shut up. "Matthew!" You warn again and this time Matt falls silent. "I'm okay, honestly." You assure him and push him back a bit by the chest to give yourself some space. "My head is just a bit tender is all. As for what happened. It was Moxley and all his dumb BCC buddies." 

"What?" Matt replies in a mix of shock and anger. "Why in the hell would Mox and his buddies want with you?" He asks you. 

You shrug, starting to regain your strength now. "I mean, I was kind of mouthing off in the ring. Just a little bit." You admit with a small laugh. 

"Y/N!" Matt scolds you. 

"What?" You reply. "They started it, Matty." You insist. "I was just minding my own business in the ring after my watch with Julia when they showed up. It's not my fault." You cross your arms in a pout. 

Matt lets out a sigh and shakes his head. He steps forward again and kisses your temple before he turns back to Nick and Kenny standing off to the side of the room. "Hey, you two want to help me defend my wife's honor?" He asks. 

"We've got your back." Nick nods and pushes off the wall.

"Anything for, Y/N." Kenny agrees with a lighthearted chuckle. 

Matt, Nick, and Kenny all gather up and head for the door. And, not about to be left out of the action, you hop off the medical table and walk over to them. Matt puts his hand out to stop you, but you swat it away. "I can defend myself, thanks, honey." You insist. 

"Baby, you're hurt." Matt reminds you. 

"It was one minor spill." You remain stubborn. "I'm fine. Right, doc?" You turn to the doctor to prove your point.

The doctor shrugs and glances down at his whiteboard. "There's no sign of a concussion that I can see. And you seem perfectly aware of your surrounding, Mrs. Jackson." He adds. 

"See!" You point at the doctor. "I'm fine, Matty. So let's go." 

Knowing that he can't stop you if the doctor says that your're alright, Matt grumbles to himself and lets you pass him. You grin to yourself and everyone heads out to find where the BCC is so you can get some revenge. 

With the gang all rallied together, it doesn't take long for you to find the BCC locker room. The boys stand at the ready and you knock on the door. A few seconds later, Wheeler Yuta is the one to open the door. "Hi, Wheeler." You flash a smile at the youngest BCC member before delivering a swift kick to his torso. 

Wheeler falls back into the locker room with a loud grunt and you step back to let Matt, Nick, and Kenny all rush the room and take care of business. Chaos ensues in the locker room and you help out where you can while the boys do most of the work. While you're busy helping Nick with Claudio, you hear Matt threatening Jon on the other side of the room. 

"You think it's funny to assault my wife like that?" Matt beats on Jon with a ferocity that you rarely see in him. 

"You got this, Nick?" You turn back to Nick and he nods. 

You hurry across the room to where Matt is still beating Jon senselessly and reach down to grab his shoulder. "Matty, it's okay. He's had enough." You pull Matt up and away from Jon. "Matt, come on." 

Matt's nostrils flare as he stands up straight. You step between him and Moxley on the floor and hug him tightly. "Keep away from my wife, Moxley," Matt warns Mox from over your shoulder as he hugs you back. "Come on baby, let's go home." He lets you go and grabs your hand. 

"One second." You nod and turn around to look at Jon just as he starts to pick himself off of the floor. You kick Mox in the stomach as hard as you can and he crumbles back down to the floor. "Alright, I'm ready." You turn back to Matt. 

Matt beckons Nick and Kenny to the door and everyone heads out, leaving the BCC a mess on their locker room floor. Matt kisses your cheek as you walk off and you intertwine your hands together with a smile on your face.

Warnings: Just some gender identity crisis

Notes: I lost the ask for it, but this is for the anon who asked for some genderfluid Matt Jackson headcanons. I love doing ones like this since I am trans myself, so if you want to request anything like this, don’t hesitate. Also Matt will use he/she/they pronouns in this, so pronouns will change throughout. I hope you enjoy!

— Discovering himself was a rather long journey, a lot of trial and error over the course of what Matt would claim to be roughly a year ( though he supposed it could also be described by his entire life if you really wanted to put it that way. )

— Admittedly, it was difficult to find what fit, as far as pronouns and identity, but she had a lot of support and reassurance from The Elite that made everything easier. Though, Matt typically ran to Nick for anything related to her identity crisis.

— But Matt found theirself, getting this comfort in finally knowing how they felt and what made him feel good.

— The Elite did their best, of course, being sure to switch between Matt’s pronouns as much as they could remember. Adam had the hardest time with it, while Kenny had the easiest like it was just second nature.

— Matt wears a multitude of different outfits. Sometimes he can be seen wearing a pretty skirt and crop top, with his hair did up all pretty. Other times Matt is in sweatpants and a t shirt. Sometimes he would steal Nick’s clothes because, according to Matt, the majority of Nick’s clothing choices are very androgynous.

— Matt does very minimal makeup, when she bothers wearing it. Mascara, some eyeliner, and a light lip tint are good enough for her. But she does want to practice and get better, so sometimes she does Nick’s makeup to make him pretty — he never minds, he likes feeling pretty, although he does hate any makeup around his eyes so Matt has to practice on herself for that one.

— All terms are good terms in Matt’s book. Boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, brother, sister, sibling, husband, wife. Whatever you want to call them is perfectly fine with them. Though they will admit, hearing anything not typically heard is their favorite.

— He never really “came out” to the fans. People on BTE just used all his pronouns, he gradually began wearing all his different type of outfits, and he even wore these cute pronoun earrings with he/him on one ear and she/her on the other. People caught on quick enough, even with Matt dodging the majority of questions.

— Matt keeps up a rather masculine appearance on television, but will occasionally wear a fishnet shirt or crop top to the ring. She does hope one day to have enough courage to wear whatever she wants on tv, but for now, backstage and on BTE is plenty for Matt.

Your hands grew sweaty in your soon to be husbands hands as he gave you a caring smile. Your whole body was on fire underneath your white wedding dress. Was it hot? It had to be hot? Your feet ached in the heels, your back hurt everything seemed to be rushing you at once.

Looking out into the audience that was now sitting and taking photos of you and your about to be husband your eyes gazed across the people, trying to find your best friend, Matt Jackson. "Y/N?"

"Huh?" Your attention snapped towards the priest who had his eyebrows arched.

"Do you take Y/H/N, here as your husband?"

You looked back at the man you've been with for years, soon your mouth becoming dry and tongue swollen. You didn't belong here, not with him. "I-"

The slamming of doors opening made everyone gasp and you even jumped. "I object!"

"M- Matt?" You whispered seeing Matt rushing down the isle in a black suit along with his younger brother, Nick following. "Y/N, please, don't marry this clown." The whole family of the grooms gasped only for you to giggle softly. "Y/N, you belong with me and I'm a fool for not saying anything sooner. Matt’s view on it is ‘go big or go home’

He doesn’t see the point of doing something small when his love is so big

On the same end, he also expects you to show how much you love him

I think if you didn’t really get into the holiday like him, he would be really disappointed

And he’s not great at hiding it

He doesn’t necessarily need to do things all day, but he wants to dress up and take you to dinner

He will have flowers and chocolates for you, so make sure you have something to give him as well

Nick:

Nick is more of a ‘quality over quantity’ lover

He likes Valentine’s Day as much as his brother, but he doesn’t put as much pressure on it

He knows you both show each other your love every day, and that you didn’t need some special day

Really, he bases it off of what you want to do

Want to go to a restaurant? Sure

Stay home and watch movies? Perfect

Go on a picnic? He knows the perfect spot

He would get you a stuffed animal or flowers, but he wouldn’t put a tone of pressure on you

He would be more disappointed if you felt like you HAD to get him something then if you just didn’t

Matt and Nick:

The two of them would have a day planed for you

Matt bugged Nick until he agreed to do something big for you

Waking you up with breakfast in bed and giving you small presents in the morning

They found a nice lake where you could spend the day and have lunch together

It’s beautiful and no one else is around so it’s quiet

There may or may not be sex while out there

Instead of going to dinner they get a friend to set up a candle light dinner in the backyard

It’s just as romantic but you don’t have to deal with reservations/wired looks when out

“My parents would kill me, have you guys met my dad?” 14 year old Estrella tells her friends.

Her group of friends consisted of Hailey, Gavin, Jackson, Shay, and Shawn. They were currently in Shawn’s basement, all of them were vaping except for Ella, she loves her friends, but they aren’t the best for her, she knows that, but she just lets it happen. Shay and Shawn were the nice ones, the one that would never make Ella feel pressured, which may be the reason she has a slight crush on Shawn, and why Shay is her bestfriend but who’s really keepin’ track?

Ella was sat on the couch with Hailey and Shay, Hailey’s feet were on Ella as Ella was in the middle of the two, Shay had her feet on the coffee table.

Gavin and Shawn were on the other couch, while Jackson sat in a bean bag chair.

Her friend Hailey shakes her head, letting out a puff of smoke, “You’re parents are literally amazing they let you do whatever you want.”

Gavin nods his head in agreement, “Yeah, bro, your parents are like mad chill. Mine freak out over the littlest things.” He says, taking a hit from his vape.

“Nah, for real, especially your mom, El. You’re lucky.” Jackson says, his head leaning back and now looking up towards the ceiling.

Shay shakes her head, directing at Hailey, Gavin, and Jackson, “Yall needa’ shut up.” Shay then turns to Estrella. “You don’t gotta do it, girl. Your choice a hundred percent.” Shay says as she takes a hit from her rechargeable blueberry vape.

Shawn nods, silently agreeing with Shay.

Jackson goes into a coughing fit.

“Well if you do it, don’t be like this dumbass,” Hailey laughs, throwing her head back also to rest it on the arm of the couch.

Shawn slaps Jackson’s knee, “Yo, chill man, my mom’s is right upstairs, she bouta hear you hackin’ it up and ask what’s going on.” Shawn scoffs.

Gavin looks at Ella as Ella picks at her nails, “Estrella, why would you even come? I mean if you’re not gonna vape then what are you doing here?” He laughs, shaking his head as he hits his vape.

Ella gives him a dirty look, “Excuse me?”

Shay sits up, “Gavin, chill, you freak.” She insults.

Gavin laughs, “We thought you were cool, you used to be so fun. Remember when you used to get yelled at all the time? And now you’re miss goody two shoes, i mean, what happened to the good, fun, Ella?”

Ella suddenly feels small in this moment, she was only getting in trouble when her father was working too much.

Shawn stands up, pointing at Gavin, “You needa watch yourself, man. She ain’t even do nothin’.”

Gavin stands up also as they get in each others face, “That’s exactly my point, she’s being boring as shit.”

Shawn shoves Gavin harshly, “I said watch yourself!” He yells.

Hailey lets out an obnoxious laugh as she stands up, pulling out her phone. “Fight! Fight! Fight!” She chants.

At this point everyone is standing up.

“You guys all needa chill, like now.” Shay says, Ella grabbing onto her sweatshirt.

As Gavin goes to push Shawn back, Ella interrupts, “I’ll do it!” She says.

Everyone looks at her before Shawn speaks up, “Nah, you don’t gotta.”

Gavin smirks.

Ella shrugs, “It’s not even that bad, Gavin’s right. I used to be fun. Just let me get a hit from someone.” She says, putting her hand out.

Everyone looks down and stays silent, except for Gavin, he pulls out a green vape which meant it was mint.

“Here.” He says, giving it to her.

She takes a hit, as she releases the smoke she lets out a few coughs before feeling better, “Alright, pussies. Can we all sit down and chill?”

Everyone mutters a yeah before they all sit.

Ella walks in her house, her vape hidden in her bra. The first thing she sees is Mailo on the couch playing Fortnite.

“I’m home!” She yells, taking her shoes off.

“No one cares.” Mailo, the twelve year old scoffs.

“I wasn’t talking to you, jerk.” She says, giving him a dirty look.

“I’m in the kitchen, sweetheart!” Y/n yells back.

Ella walks into the kitchen to see her mom cutting up some fruit.

“What are you doing?” Ella asks, walking over and sticking a piece of watermelon in her mouth.

“We are having a meeting for work tomorrow, so i figured i would be nice and cut up some fruit for everybody.” Y/n says, grabbing apples out of the fridge.

Ella goes to grab another piece before Y/n smacks her hand away, starting to cut the apples. “Where’s dad?” Ella asks, taking a piece of watermelon anyway.

“In the shower, he should be out now…” Y/n trails off.

“Yeah, i’m out.” Matt says, walking into the kitchen with his hair wet, his shirt off and sweatpants on.

“Hey, baby, how was your friend’s house?” He asks Ella, kissing the top of her head.

Ella pauses for a moment, “It was fun.”

Matt goes to reach for a piece of watermelon, getting smacked in the hand by Y/n.

“Ow..” He mutters, “Yeah, what’d you do?” He turns his attention back to Ella.

Ella hesitates as her face goes pale, “We hung out, dad. There’s nothing to it.” She snaps.

Matt’s eyes widen slightly, “Okay, i was just asking.” He puts his hands up in defense before him and Ella at the same time go for another piece of watermelon.

“Will you two stop!? If i cut you some will you leave me alone!?” Y/n asks.

Matt and Ella both nod their heads with a cheeky smile on their faces.

“Mom! Cut me some too!” Mailo yells from the living room.

Matt and Ella both laugh as Y/n tries to hide her smile, “What is wrong with this family?” She sighs, going to the fridge to get more watermelon.

Matt and Ella sneaking more pieces.

Y/n turns around and comes back with the watermelon, seeing that her watermelon pieces that she cut up already were gone.

“Seriously?!”

Y/n walks into Mailo’s room, knocking before she opens the door, “Night, Mailo.” She smiles at him, just sticking her head in.

“Night, mom.” He says, watching something on the TV.

Y/n smiles and walks out of the room, walking to Ella’s room and knocking before opening the door, when Y/n peaks in she sees Ella readjusting herself, putting something behind her back, but she doesn’t say anything.

“You okay?” Y/n asks.

Ella nods, her lips staying closed.

“Alright, night, sweetheart.” Y/n smiles.

Ella smiles back as Y/n leaves the room, shutting the door.

What Y/n didn’t know is that the moment she left Ella let out a puff of smoke from her lips, the thing she put behind her was the green mint vape.

Ella takes a couple more puffs, she’s not addicted, she told herself. I meant there’s no way if i just started, right?

In the middle of a puff, the worst of the worst happens, Matt walks in.

Matt’s smile he had plastered on his face drops slightly, “What are you doing?” He asks, soft tone to his voice.

Ella has smoke in her mouth as she hides the vape under her thigh, she shakes her head as her face starts to turn red from holding in the smoke.

“What’s the matter?” Matt asks, walking in her room now.

Ella shakes her head again, begging silently for her father to leave.

“Ella, are you-”

Finally Ella coughs, smoke releasing from her mouth, very visibly, Matt watching as this happens.

“What the hell was that!?” Matt snaps.

Ella coughs consistently, leaning over to grab water on her nightstand but as she goes so the vape slips from underneath her thigh and onto the floor.

“Ella, what the fuck?!” Matt yells.

Y/n rushes in the room immediately when she hears Matt’s yell.

“Hey, what’s going on? Why are you yelling?” Y/n asks as Matt picks up the vape from the ground.

As Ella recovers from her coughing fit she yells out, “Dad! Wa-”

His face red with anger, “Our daughter is smoking! Did you know about this?!” Matt asks Y/n.

Y/n shakes her head, putting her hand on her own chest as she feels heart broken, partly because her daughter is doing this but partly because her daughter didn’t tell her.

“Ella, seriously?” Y/n lets out a disappointed sigh, shaking her head as she rubs her forehead.

Ella gets out of bed, “This was the first time i prom-”

Matt cuts her off, “Yeah and your last time, your last time for everything, you’re grounded, your phones getting taken, no TV, no nothing, you are-”

“Dad!” Ella yells as she tears up.

Y/n puts her hand on Matt’s shoulder, “Okay, Matt, i think we should all take a breath-”

“Yeah, not a hit of a vape.” Matt snarks, him rubbing his stubble.

Y/n starts to bring him out of the room, “Now, you’re being ridiculous, and i think you should go calm down before you say another word.” Y/n says, holding onto Matt softly.

Matt looks at her, tilting his head slightly, “But-”

“Now. Please.” Y/n pleads. Matt looks at her and sighs before nodding, walking to their bedroom.

Mailo comes out of his room, “Is everything okay?” He asks his mom, looking at Ella’s bedroom door before Y/n’s and Matt’s bedroom door.

Y/n smiles, “Everything’s fine, you’re fathers upset. Go to your room, sweetie.” Y/n says softly, kissing his forehead.

Mailo nods and goes back to his room.

Y/n walks into Ella’s room, shutting the door behind her as Ella was sitting on her bed crisscross apple sauce, sobbing in her hands.

Y/n climbs on the bed with Ella and wraps her arms around her.

Ella wraps her arms around her mother and sobs into her chest, “I’m sorry!” She sobs out, it was heartbreaking.

Y/n shakes her head, “I’m not mad at you, okay? I’m not mad, i’m not disappointed, i love you so much. I don’t care what you do. I just wish you would’ve came to me first. I’ll always have your back, El. Through the good and the bad, for the better or the worst, i’m here, baby, i’m here.” Y/n says, kissing Ella’s forehead.

Ella cries for about 5 minutes more before she starts to talk again, her head still on Y/n’s chest. “I didn’t want to, mommy.” Ella whispers.

“I promise, i didn’t want to b-but then Gavin started saying i wasn’t cool and everyone else was just doing it so i figured why not, and then he gave me one to take home, so that’s why i have it.” Ella explains.

Y/n nods, running her fingers through Ella’s hair, “Okay, okay. You were peer pressured, baby. And that’s not okay but that’s not your fault, you said no and then they insisted, that’s totally not your fault.”

Ella sniffles, “I’m sorry.”

“Look at me, Estrella Leylani.” Y/n uses her daughter’s middle name.

Ella looks up at her mother, “Stop apologizing. Okay, you’re good.” Y/n says.

Ella shakes her head, “Dad hates me. He was so mad and disappointed. He doesn’t love me.” She tears up again.

“No, baby, no. Not at all. He does. I’m gonna go talk to him and then he’ll talk to you. I’ll calm him down, alright?” Y/n asks, Ella nods.

Y/n smiles, kissing her daughter’s forehead one more time before walking out of the room and into her and Matt’s room.

Matt looks up, he was pacing around the room, him biting his nails.

He wipes his hands on his pants, “Why would she not say anything? i mean, what has gotten into her? There’s no-”

Y/n grabs Matt’s hand and stops him from pacing, “Matt, baby. Listen to me. For a second, slow down.” Y/n says softly.

Matt takes a breath and looks at her, standing still now.

Y/n let’s out a breath, “She was peer pressured, some kid told her she wasn’t cool because she didn’t vape and everyone was so it just happened.” Y/n explains.

Matt’s angry expression drops, “But- she- why- who would even-”

“So, you can go and talk to her, but seriously, lose all the negativity you have because right now she thinks you don’t love her, and she’s really fucking upset.” Y/n tells him.

Matt lets out a shaky breath, “Okay, but i do love her, so much, she’s my baby.” Matt says in a quiet tone.

Y/n nods, bringing her hands up to his cheeks, rubbing back and forth on his stubble, “I know that, she knows that. But she’s not really feeling much of the love, Matt. You scared her, you swore at her.”

Matt scoffs, “I was just mad-”

“I know, baby. I know. So, go and talk to her. She needs you, i know she does.” Y/n says, putting a sad smile on her face.

Matt nods, leaning down and kissing Y/n softly. “Okay, i love you.” He says, resting his forehead on hers for a second.

“I love you too.” Y/n whispers before Matt leaves the room.

Matt slowly walks into Ella’s room, seeing her on her bed, picking at her fingers as she sits up, sniffles coming from her.

“Ella?” Matt says softly.

She looks up, noticing him now. “Daddy? i’m so sorry.” She sobs.

Matt shakes his head and comes over to her, embracing her in a big hug. “I’m sorry, i shouldn’t have snapped. I should’ve asked you why, i love you, i’m not mad at you, baby. I’ll never be mad at you and i’ll always love you.” Matt rants.

“I didn’t want to!” Ella sobs into his neck.

Matt tears up, “I know, my love. I know. And i’m sorry i swore at you, i didn’t mean it, your mother and i love you so much and we just want the best for you, okay? We good now?” Matt pulls away to look at Ella, wiping her tears with his thumbs, his hands staying on her cheeks.

She nods and sniffles, Matt places a kiss in the middle of her forehead before hugging her again.

Y/n walks in the room and joins the hug, “Mailo!” Y/n yells.

“What?!” He groans from his room.

“Get in here, buddy!” Matt yells as they all continue to hug.

Mailo then comes in the room, “I’m not joining that.” He says shaking his head in disgust, talking about the hug.

Matt scoffs playfully before pulling away from the hug, going and picking up Mailo and throwing him on Ella’s bed as Y/n and Ella laugh.

“Dad!” Mailo groans as they all hug each other.

Safe to say after this Ella stopped smoking, continued to stay friends with Shay and Shawn but dropped Gavin, Jackson, and Hailey.
